I don't own Star Wars or its characters, but Nadia Aomori and my other OCs I own only.

Fire of the Rebellion

Chapter 24: Relics of the Old Republic

After the Arcturus, Luke smiled as he sat down staring at the twin suns setting down in the horizon.

It was the favourite part he liked to do after finishing another day working in his step-uncle's farm.

As he felt a gentle breeze blow around him, the fifteen year old boy closed his eyes to relax a bit.

Suddenly, a female figure went over to Luke before planting a gentle kiss on his forehead.

"See you later, Luke Skywalker."

Luke's blue eyes opened and saw there was no one around.

But he strangely felt someone had came to him.

Someone familiar.

Luke slowly moved his right hand, only to feel something next to him.

He turned around and saw an object.

The object was carved with traditional Tatooine sand symbols from a piece of japor ivory wood and it was threaded with a string of jerba leather.

Luke studied the necklace with a glimpse of confusion.

Did the person that visited him left it behind?

Or was it meant for him?

"Luke!"Beru called out."Luke!"

Hearing his step-aunt call out his name, Luke placed the necklace around his neck and hid it underneath his shirt before heading back inside his home to join his family.

Meanwhile, the Empire tracked the rebels to Seelos.

Admiral Konstantine and Agent Kallus arrived at the Seelos System to capture the Jedi.

Rex gave the Lothal Rebels a datachip containing old Republic bases in the Outer Rim.

Ezra, Zachary and Gwendolyn tried to persuade the clones to join the Rebellion, but Rex and the clones instead offer to delay the Empire so the rebels could escape.

Agent Kallus commanded the clones to hand over the rebels.

But when Rex refused, Kallus arrived with three AT-ATs.

Taking advantage of a sandstorm and the Force, Kanan, Ezra and the clones use their AT-TE's main gun to destroy one of the AT-ATs.

After destroying Agent Kallus' three AT-ATs and fleeing Seelos, the Olin twins and the Spectres headed back to the Ghost with Rex and Fordo.

"Say, Fordo."Gwendolyn spoke up, warning Fordo's attention."What was your reaction to Order 66?"

After a moment of silent, Fordo let out a heavy sigh.

"One thing you should know, lass, I was outraged."Fordo admitted with a frown and folded his arms."One of my brothers named Fives was able to to discover the Chancellor's deception, but unfortunately his warning fell to death ears. Not long after, I actually did a bit of research and realised he was telling the truth."

"So that's when you decided to have your control chip removed?"Zachary assumed.

"That's correct, lad."Fordo agreed, giving a nod to Zachary and looked down."I was able to to convince Wolffe and Gregor to remove their control chips. As for the rest of my brothers, I wasn't able to. But at times, I wished the Jedi Council did researched deeper into Five's evidence. If they did, the Chancellor would've never been able to make himself Emperor."

Ezra gave a sad smile while Kanan had his back turned with a frown on his face.

"But now you guys know you have a chance to make a difference, right?"Gwendolyn suggested."Fighting the Empire, so that everyone could be free."

Rex looked at Gwendolyn silently, seeing how much her face resembled Nadia when she was her age.

"That's correct, Gwen."Rex replied in approval."Thank you."

Ferus, Nadia and Ahsoka returned to the Phoenix Home after visiting Tatooine.

Ahsoka gave Ferus and Nadia a soft smile.

"It was a nice thing for you two do."Ahsoka stated."Giving Luke something that belonged to his parents."

"I guess so."Nadia murmured.

"Though the real one is actually buried alongside Padmé's body in a privately owned mausoleum."Ferus admitted."Luke doesn't have any memory of his mother. But I hope a gift that his father gave to her would give him a hint of what his parents were like."

On hearing that, Ahsoka looked down in silence.

"Soka, I am so sorry."Nadia apologised sadly."About…everything."

Ahsoka simply shook her head.

"Dia, it's fine."Ahsoka replied, slowly recovering from her grief."I just don't understand why Anakin did all this?"

Ferus looked at Ahsoka.

"I guess it's been for Padmé."Ferus assumed.

"Padmé?"Ahsoka said in confusion."That doesn't make any-"

"Think about it."Ferus insisted."Perhaps Anakin had a vision that Padmé was in danger and was scared in losing her. He couldn't take any risks with the Council since they followed that ancient old Jedi Code and…Darth Sidious saw that as an opportunity to mess his head up."

A frown appeared on Nadia's face.

"Though to be more clear, Darth Sidious didn't just lure Anakin to the dark side."Nadia informed, her voice was stern and soft at the same time."The Jedi pushed him away from the light."

Ahsoka looked down in sadness.

"Still Anakin didn't deserve to suffer."Ahsoka declared, struggling not to cry."He was so kind, compassionate, forgiving, merciful and…"

The female Torguta wiped away the tears that were coming out of her eyes.

"How could Obi-Wan had given up on him so easily?"Ahsoka questioned."He and Anakin were so close to each other.

Nadia let out a small scoff.

"It can't be helped, Soka."Nadia declared."My master was taught the ancient ways of the Jedi Order, so he didn't really know any better."

Ferus brought his attention on Ahsoka.

"Ahsoka, me and Nadia are truly sorry for hiding all this from you."Ferus apologised."The two of us always wanted to be better example than the Jedi Council was. But still we lied to you."

"Can you forgive us?"Nadia asked.

A forced bright smile grew on Ahsoka's face.

"Just promise neither of you will lie to me again."Ahsoka suggested."You two have been my closest friends before the Clone Wars even started."

Smiles grew on Ferus and Nadia's faces before giving Ahsoka a hug.

"We promise, Ahsoka/Soka."Ferus and Nadia answered in unison.

As soon as the couple said that, the trio sensed the Spectres had returned with Zachary and Gwendolyn.

"Looks like our kids are back."Nadia chuckled.

"Hope no mischievous happened while they were out."Ferus complemented.

Ahsoka smirked. "Does that mean that-"

"Don't remind me, Ahsoka."Ferus said with a frown.

Nadia laughed lightly as she, her husband and best friend went to meet up with their children and the Spectres.

Zachary, Gwendolyn, Kanan and Zeb moved away a bit to reveal Rex and Fordo behind them, surprising the couple and their close friend.

"Commander Tano."Rex greeted.

"General Olin and Commander Aomori."Fordo responded.

Ahsoka, Ferus and Nadia smiled as they went over to the two clone troopers.

"You three have become old."Rex commented.

"Well, it had to happen sometime, Rex."Ahsoka replied with a smile.

Ahsoka then gave Rex a hug and he leaned back slightly in surprise before returning the embrace.

Nadia then hugged Fordo, happy to see him again after such a long time.

"I've seen you've grown a beard too, Fordo."Nadia sneered.

"But with aging comes wisdom, Commander Aomori."Fordo reminded with a smirk and glanced at Ferus."That's what you taught me, General."

"I learned from the best."Ferus admitted with a small smile.

"I'm glad you three are still alive."Rex responded.

"You too."Ahsoka answered.

"Well, we wouldn't be, if it weren't for these guys."Fordo remarked.

Fordo gestured to the Olin twins and the Spectres, making Ferus and Nadia smile on approval.

Ahsoka glanced at Kanan.

"Thank you for trusting our friends."Ahsoka thanked.

"It wasn't easy."Kanan admitted before glancing down sadly."It's still not."

"Nothing worth doing ever is, Kanan."Nadia declared.

With that the members of the rebellion turned around and headed down the hallway towards the bridge of the Phoenix Home as a group.

See you all in the next chapter and have a wonderful day!
