Fire of the Rebellion

Chapter 33: Shroud of Darkness

Inside the Theed Royal Palace, Lisa was in her private chambers and listening to a small holo-video of her late mother, Padmé Naberrie, giving a speech to the Galactic Senate.

Padmé had on an under-dress that was dark blue with a grey waistband. The band had designs on it. The over-dress was a lighter blue that split at the middle with similar designs as the waistband. The shoulders were puffed, and the sleeves had similar designs as the band. Her chocolate brown hair was held in a silver headdress, split into two sections in the back. It had a strip of metal that went around her head and had rectangular breaks that showed her hair.

Lisa made sure the small holo-projector was in a low sound, so that only she and Dalné could hear it play.

It was the middle of the night, so the two young girls had to be careful that no one was listening to the recording but themselves.

"Teckla is one of my aides."Padmé stated."Like so many of the people that we tell ourselves we're here to serve, Teckla lives in a district that rarely has electricity and running water as a result of the war. Her children can now only bathe every two weeks and they have no light in which to read or study at night."

The Queen of Naboo smiled in a fragile way as she listened to her late mother's speech.

"The Republic has always funded these basic services, but now, there are those who would divert the money to the war with no thought for what the people need to survive."Padmé declared."If not for people like Teckla and her children, who are we fighting for? My people, your people, all of our people. This war is meant to save them from suffering, not increase it."

After brushing her hair, Dalné went next to Lisa while listening to Padmé's speech as well.

Both the young teenage girls were in their nightgowns, but neither of them were sleeping.

"I support our brave soldiers, whether they come from the clone factories or from any of the thousands of systems loyal to the Republic, but if we continue to impoverish our people, it is not on the battlefield where Dooku will defeat us, but in our own homes."Padmé admitted."Therefore, it is our duty and our responsibility to preserve the lives of those around us by defeating this bill."

Cheering was heard in the background before the holo-video turned off.

Dalné smiled at Lisa.

"That was a really inspiring speech."Dalné praised.

"Yeah. By hearing this speech, people need to realize that war isn't just firefights and guns blazing all the time. The politics are just as important to a war, if not more. Though my mother greatly preferred peace instead of war. She was a true heart. Strong, kind and fearless."Lisa exclaimed with a small smile."Both Uncle Ferus and Aunt Nadia considered her to be one of the people very close to them."

After putting the small holo-projector away, Lisa rested back on her bed with Dalné next to her.

The two best friends looked at each other.

"Have you ever thought it, Lisa?"Dalné questioned.

"Of what, Dalné?"Lisa asked.

"Taking another important role after you are no longer Naboo's Queen."Dalné said.

A light smirk appeared on Lisa's face.

"Not really."Lisa stated."Being Princess of Theed and Queen of Naboo is enough for me. I hope actually to be a great Jedi Knight like my father once my time in politics ends."

Dalné smiled gently. "You'll get in trouble if someone hears you say that."

Lisa gave a slight shrug.

"What about you?"Lisa asked."Surely, you have another intention than being just a handmaiden."

"Well, I haven't really thought about it."Dalné declared."Maybe I should become a nurse after the Empire is defeated."

"I actually believe in impossibly high standards."Lisa chuckled."Besides a Jedi Knight, I want to become a famous pilot and later on in life, you'll find me as a grandmother with lots of grandchildren. My goal is to be married by the age of 26."

"Cool."Dalné praised softly.

Lisa and Dalné shared a small giggle with each other before the two of them fell into a deep sleep.

Zachary was reading a book about the Old Republic, only to frown when he noticed Gwendolyn was eating a bunch of chocolate covered cambylictus berries.

The Olin twins decided to accompany Ahsoka to see the Ghost Crew again after getting permission from their parents.

Gwendolyn stopped eating a cambylictus berry when she noticed Zachary was staring at her.

"What?"Gwendolyn questioned.

"You know mum clearly saved those berries for both of us, Gwen."Zachary retorted.

Gwendolyn gave a shrug.

"Sorry, bro."Gwendolyn apologised brightly."I got peckish."

Zachary let out a scowl before going back to reading his book.

"What are you exactly reading, Zack?"Gwendolyn asked curiously.

"The Order of Revan."Zachary answered.

"Cool. You're reading about the Revanites."Gwendolyn remarked."Wasn't the founder of the Order, Tari Darkspanner?"

"Yes."Zachary admitted as he lowered down his book."Balancing the light and dark sides of the Force, the Order sought to change the Empire from within, and they accepted members from all levels of Imperial society and even alien species, just as Revan had done. Not long after Tari Darkspanner discovered records of Revan on Korriban while training to be Sith in the decades before the Empire's Cold War with the Galactic Republic, the Order was headquartered in a compound in the jungles of the planet Dromund Kaas."

A scoff escaped from Gwendolyn's mouth.

"Mum said Dromund Kaas is where freedom goes to die and legends are forced on the galaxy."Gwendolyn stated with a small frown."She never went there because the planet is shrouded in a pervasive miasma of dark side energy."

Zachary gave a smirk.

"And you're the one who said she doesn't enjoy studying."Zachary sneered.

"Watch your mouth."Gwendolyn retorted and then became concerned."Say, Zack? Exactly which part of the Force that Revan really follow? The light or dark?"

"The path of Revan was neither Jedi nor Sith."Zachary answered.

"It's kind of like, mum."Gwendolyn remarked."She said she is following neither the path of the Jedi or the Sith. She is herself."

Then Ahsoka came into the room, earning Zachary and Gwendolyn's attention.

"Hey, Aunt Ahsoka/Soka."Zachary and Gwendolyn greeted in unison.

Ahsoka smiled at Zachary and Gwendolyn as she held a Holocron in her hands.

"Is that a Holocron?"Gwendolyn chuckled.

Ahsoka nodded at Gwendolyn.

"That's right."Ahsoka agreed with a nod."Even though I left the Order, I kept a few in order to keep up with my training."

Before Zachary could say anything, Ahsoka used the Force to activate the Holocron before a small hologram of a man in his 20s speaking began playing and teaching different tactics for lightsaber combat.

The Olin twins immediately realised the man was none other than Lisa's late father; Anakin Skywalker.

While the hologram recording of the Jedi Knight played, Ahsoka sat the opposite side of the Olin twins to meditate.

Then Ezra came into the room to sit next to Zachary and Gwendolyn to watch the recording of Anakin as well.

"Keeping your saber moving is key to deflecting the fire of multiple adversaries."Anakin exclaimed."Fluid motion, one into the next, into the next, and so on. I've made some adjustments to the classic Form IV techniques that I think you'll find work well against droids and other ranged attackers. Here, I'll show you."

Ezra smiled in approval as Anakin took out his lightsaber to deflect the green lasers that attempted to hit him.

"He's amazing."Ezra praised."I've watched these recordings to help me with my own saber training."

Ahsoka opened her eyes to look at Ezra.

"You should have seen him in person."Ahsoka stated."Anakin Skywalker. He was my master."

"Kanan said he was the greatest warrior the Jedi had in the Clone Wars."Ezra declared.

"He was powerful, rarely lost a battle."Ahsoka exclaimed."What would have surprised people was how kind he was. He cared deeply about his friends and looked out for them until the end."

Zachary nodded in agreement while Gwendolyn smiled brightly.

"Our parents said the same thing about Uncle Anakin."Zachary agreed.

"Though we also heard he was one that didn't like to follow rules like our mum did."Gwendolyn chuckled.

Ahsoka gave a soft smile.

"He and your mother acted mostly like rivals beside being close friends."Ahsoka remarked.

Anakin then deactivated his lightsaber once the droid firing the lasers deactivated.

"Practice these exercises mindfully, and you'll see improvement, I promise."Anakin assured.

Ezra looked at Ahsoka.

"Do you know what happened to him?"Ezra asked.

A sad look appeared on Ahsoka's face as she deactivated the holocron.

"The last time I saw him, he was rushing off to save the Chancellor with Nadia and Obi-Wan."Ahsoka answered."Then everything changed. The war ended and the Jedi were accused of treason. One by one, they were hunted down."

"By the Inquisitors."Ezra guessed.

"Or worser by Darth Vader."Zachary retorted.

Gwendolyn nodded in agreement as Kanan came into the cabin to speak to the group, making them stand up from where they sat.

"Speaking of Inquisitors, Ahsoka, what do you think about us doing the hunting for a change?"Kanan suggested.

"When you defeated one, several more came."Ahsoka complemented."Who's to say we wouldn't multiply our problems yet again?"

"And there's Vader."Ezra added.

"I don't disagree."Kanan responded."But the fact remains, we can't protect our friends from Vader and his Inquisitors. I can barely protect you."

Ezra smirked. "I don't need protecting."

Gwendolyn shook her head.

"Don't be so sure on that, Ezra."Gwendolyn warned with a small frown."Besides being the Supreme Commander of all Imperial Forces, Darth Vader was the one that helped Darth Sidiois carry out the massacre of the Jedi Temple itself."

"He easily struck terror in the hearts of the enemies of the Empire."Zachary informed firmly."So don't underestimate him."

Ahsoka folded her arms.

"It's times like these that Anakin and I would turn to someone like Obi-Wan or Master Yoda. They always had the answer."Ahsoka complemented."Well, almost always."

"Then maybe we should ask Master Yoda."Kanan insisted.

Surprised looks appeared on Ahsoka, Zachary and Gwendolyn's faces.

Soon after, Kanan, Ezra, Ahsoka, Zachary and Gwendolyn leave the Ghost aboard the Phantom without telling the crew where they are going, in order to keep everyone safe.

Hera, along with Zeb and Sabine, watched the Jedi and Chopper depart into hyperspace.

"Where are they going?"Sabine questioned.

"Sometimes it's best not to know."Hera answered

Upon arriving to Lothal, the Phantom landed not far from the Lothal Jedi Temple.

Once the Phantom landed, Kanan, Ezra, Ahsoka, Zachary and Gwendolyn stepped out to go towards the Jedi Temple.

"Ezra, you're from Lothal?"Ahsoka asked.

"Yeah, this place is my home."Ezra agreed.

Kanan, Ezra, Ahsoka, Zachary and Gwendolyn walked over to the ground platform which was the key to open the Jedi Temple.

Large, concentric circles symbolising the light side and dark sides of the Force, were cut into the grounds of the Temple, spiralling out from the central spire and wrapping around the lesser natural towers.

Amid the symbols and circles was an ancient emblem of the Order itself, designated as the spot Master-Padawan teams should stand when attempting to open the Temple.

"Here it is."Ezra remarked before looking at Ahsoka."If you and Kanan stand here, you can use the Force to open the temple."

"I cannot."Ahsoka responded.

"Why?"Ezra said in surprise.

"Because I am no longer a Jedi."Ahsoka declared."It was my choice, I left the Order."

Zachary and Gwendolyn looked at Kanan and Ezra.

"Since it needs a master and apprentice, I think it's best if you guys open it."Zachary suggested.

"We are just apprentices."Gwendolyn sneered.

Ezra shrugged. "All right then."

Kanan and Ezra began working together using the Force to lift the spire which would rise in a corkscrew, counter-clockwise motion.

The upper entrance hall was simple and unadorned, leading into a small meditation room with a single door leading into the subterranean caverns beyond the outer wall of the spire.

However, as the Jedi Temple moved, it revealed moving past the usual entrance of the spire.

"Hey, where's the door going?"Ezra asked.

Kanan didn't respond and Ezra continued using the Force with his master before the Jedi Temple revealed another entrance while Ahsoka and the Olin twins looked on.

Zachary had a blunt look while Gwendolyn's eyes widen in awe at what was in front of them.

"Whoa."Gwendolyn murmured in delight.

"This is new."Ezra stated.

"Well, new problem, new door."Kanan informed before looking at Chopper."Chop, stay here. Keep an eye out."

Chopper beeped in respond.

Kanan, Ezra, Ahsoka, Zachary and Gwendolyn began walking their way to the Jedi Temple's entrance.

Gwendolyn took a picture of the Lothal Jedi Temple's entrance as well as its marks with her small data pad before following her older twin brother and their companions inside the ancient sanctuary.

The doorways leading off of the grand entrance lined up with different halls that accessed different cave systems.

The group noticed the entrance of the Temple closing, making them get trapped inside.

Zachary and Gwendolyn shared a small smile with each other, secretly communicating with each other due to their bond as twin siblings.

"The inside of this Temple is almost like the one in Auratera's Jedi Temple."Gwendolyn remarked.

Zachary smirked. "Though to me, the Jedi Temple in Auratera was way cooler."

Ahsoka looked at Kanan and Ezra.

"How did you contact Master Yoda here?"Ahsoka questioned.

"Well, he kind of contacted us."Kanan declared awkwardly.

Zachary raised an eyebrow while Gwendolyn became curious.

"He contact you two?"Gwendolyn questioned.

"I thought I was dreaming when I first heard Master Yoda's voice."Ezra admitted.

"And I was meditating."Kanan stated.

"Then perhaps that's a good place to start."Ahsoka suggested.

Both Zachary and Gwendolyn nodded in agreement.

The group then gathered together and begin meditating, recalling that Kanan and Ezra's last visit led them to communicate with Yoda only after meditating.

As they do so, Kanan spotted a bright white light emanating from a doorway, but the others do not see it.

"I see a doorway."Kanan declared.

This caused Ahsoka, Ezra, Zachary and Gwendolyn to become confused since they didn't see anything.

"What doorway?"Zachary questioned.

"Where?"Ezra asked."I don't see anything."

"Neither do I."Ahsoka stated.

"Last time we spoke to Master Yoda, we were separated."Kanan declared."Maybe this is my path alone."

Kanan stood up to go over to the entrance that he saw.

"Be careful."Kanan warned.

"Don't worry."Kanan assured."I wouldn't do anything you would do."

"Where'd he go?"Ezra asked."He just disappeared."

"As you know, these temples can be tricky."Ahsoka commented.

Ahsoka and Ezra then noticed Zachary and Gwendolyn were gone as well, making them get surprised.

Kanan passed through the doorway and finds himself within a dojo.

Inside was the Sentinel, a Jedi Temple Guard adorned in guardsman armour and a helmet.

"I wondered when you would return."the Sentinel declared.

"A temple guard. I've come for knowledge."Kanan stated."I need to know how to defeat Vader and his Inquisitors."

The Sentinel stood up from where he stood and picked up his hinged double-bladed lightsaber.

"Try to fight and you will fail."the Sentinel warned."The Rebellion will be destroyed. You will die and your apprentice will become a servant of evil."

This caused Kanan to become alarmed.

"What are you talking about?"Kanan demanded.

"The dark side."the Sentinel admitted."It pulls at him, it calls to him. Eventually, he will be consumed by it."

The Sentinel activated his hinged double-bladed lightsaber revealing it's golden yellow blades.

"Stand aside."the Sentinel demanded."The boy must be eliminated before he embraces the darkness."

"I won't let that happen."Kanan retorted.

Kanan ignited his own lightsaber before he and the Sentinel engage in a lightsaber duel.

Both Zachary and Gwendolyn opened their eyes and found themselves in some kind of ancient temple.

But it wasn't one from Lothal or Auratera.

They felt the area was strong in the dark side of the Force like it was some powerful drug that was trying to drag them to it.

Gwendolyn glanced at Zachary with a worried expression.

"You feel that, Zack?"Gwendolyn whispered.

"I feel it too, Gwen."Zachary assured firmly."Be on your guard."

Zachary and Gwendolyn then noticed not far from where they stood was an elderly blind woman whose eyes were covered by the hood of the brown robes she wore and had grey hair that was braided in two ponytails with black lines on them.

It was Kreia also known as the Sith Lord, Darth Traya.

Both Zachary and Gwendolyn shared a glance with each other before the two of them slowly approached the being in front of them, ready to take out their lightsabers if necessary.

"There's no need to activate your blades, descendants of Darth Nihilus."Kreia declared."Many things do I see as I gaze from the heart of Malachor."

This caused both Zachary and Gwendolyn to become shocked.

"How is this even possible?"Zachary scowled."You're an ancient Sith Lord that perished many years ago."

"How are we here?"Gwendolyn demanded."Did you bring us here?"

Despite the outbursts from the Olin twins, Kreia didn't do nothing and just stare at them.

"Failure is the one truth that the Sith could never expect."Kreia informed."The Sith of old dreamed of conquest while the Jedi dreamed of peace. But alas, the Republic will always fall as it always been."

Zachary narrowed his eyes while Gwendolyn was confused.

"What?"Gwendolyn asked.

Outside, Chopper became alarmed when he detected incoming Imperials and flees just before the three TIE Fighters arrived at the Jedi Temple.

The pilots of the TIE Fighters revealed to be the Fifth Brother, the Sixth Sister and the Seventh Sister.

Fifth Brother scowled as he touched the ground which showed foot prints on it.

"They have fled."Fifth Brother retorted."Your instincts have failed you."

This caused the Sixth Sister to roll her eyes.

"No, Fifth Brother. Our prey came here and they are still here."Sixth Sister answered sternly."I sense that the brats of Olin and Aomori are in there too."

Seventh Sister smirked. "In that case…"

The Seventh Sister then deployed her parrot droid.

"Tell me what you see."Seventh Sister ordered.

The parrot droid went to scan the structure in front of the three Inquisitors and showed that this was a Jedi Temple and that the Jedi were inside.

"A Jedi temple."Seventh Sister sneered.

"My, my. What a surprise."Sixth Sister scoffed."This hunt just got more thrilling."

Fifth Brother glared at the Lothal Jedi Temple.

"Their sanctuary will be their tomb."Fifth Brother declared.

Inside the Lothal Jedi Temple, Ezra and Ahsoka spoke to each other.

"You knew Master Yoda?"Ezra assumed.

"Yes."Ahsoka agreed with a small nod."He taught almost all of the younglings in the temple at one point or another."

"Kanan described him to me."Kanan remarked, making Ahsoka smile a bit."Small, green, and wrinkly with pointy ears. But he didn't know what he was really like."

"I'm not sure anyone did."Ahsoka declared."He was wise, kind, but when I was young, he seemed happier. As the Clone War dragged on, he carried a great burden, a deep sorrow as if he knew before anyone else that one time was ending and another beginning."

Ahsoka then noticed Ezra was no longer with her and that she was now by herself.

Ezra's eyes widen in awe when he noticed he was in the same chamber where he previously spoke to Master Yoda.

"Whoa."Ezra remarked."I know this place."

"Special to you it is, hmm?"

Ezra looked in front of him and saw Master Yoda sitting on a log while smiling at him.

"Master Yoda?"Ezra said excitedly."You're here!"

"Or here you are, hmm."Master Yoda chuckled.

"Last time I couldn't see you."Ezra admitted.

"Ah, growing your abilities are."Master Yoda informed."And with them danger."

This caused Ezra to become a bit disturbed.

Back in the dojo, the Sentinel was not impressed with Kanan's lightsaber attacks as he duelled against him.

"Is this the limit of your knowledge?"the Sentinel asked in disapproval.

"I learned enough."Kanan answered.

"I think not."the Sentinel replied.

After the Sentinel knocked him back, Kanan grabbed one of the many lightsabers hanging on the wall.

To his surprise, the lightsaber has a red blade as he now wielded two blades against the Sentinel.

"You will never be strong enough to protect your pupil and you will perish for your failure."the Sentinel declared grimly.

Zachary and Gwendolyn stood together while glaring at Kreia after what she just told them.

"We know the Republic has fallen."Zachary commented with a frown."Darth Sidious created a war that he actually ended up playing in both sides."

"The Jedi and the Separatists were all pawns and he ended up getting rid of them both at the end."Gwendolyn retorted.

"Both were delusions shaped by the forces of endless hunger."Kreia informed with a disapproved tone."The Republic bloated and corrupted. The Jedi blind and scattered. Sidious. The shadow puppeteer have orchestrated both sides. He is no different from the Sith Lords that came before. The cycle shall always be the same."

"We know from our parents that those in charge of the Jedi Order were blind and arrogant from a Jedi Code that brought them to do more harm than good."Zachary admitted.

"They weren't able to see the real threat hiding in the shadows until it was too late."Gwendolyn said with a sad frown.

"I knew someone who walked both paths."Kreia admitted."The Jedi and the Sith. He knew their weaknesses better than anyone."

Both Zachary and Gwendolyn knew who Kreia was talking about.

"Revan."Zachary and Gwendolyn answered in unison.

Ahsoka stood by herself, meditating within the Lothal Jedi Temple.

"Ahsoka…"

Ahsoka's eyes opened and saw she was the only one within the Temple before closing her eyes to continue meditating.

"Ahsoka, why did you leave?"

Ahsoka became alarmed upon realising behind her was the manifestation of Anakin asking her why she left when he still needed her.

"Where were you when I needed you?"

"I made a choice."Ahsoka declared sadly."I couldn't stay."

"You were selfish."

"No!"Ahsoka whispered.

Ahsoka became hurt by Anakin's words as she began to tear up.

She never meant to leave the Jedi Temple or her friends.

It was the Jedi Council's lack of wisdom and trust that made her leave after everything she did for them.

"You abandoned me! You failed me! Just like Ferus and Nadia did!"Anakin snapped angrily as Ahsoka shut her eyes from his angry outburst."Do you know what I've become?"

Then Ahsoka heard it.

The mechanical breathing of Darth Vader.

The twisted evil being that was born after Anakin was left to die in Mustafar upon losing his duel against Obi-Wan.

"No!"Ahsoka murmured angrily as the Sith Lord's breathing became louder before more tears came out of her eyes."NO!"

A tearful and tormented Ahsoka ignited one of her lightsabers and spun around to find nothing.

Overcome by guilt and sadness, she then deactivated her lightsaber before looking down upon remembering her former master's downfall.

Ezra looked at Master Yoda, willing to know a way to destroy the Siths.

"Master Yoda, you're powerful."Ezra declared."You must know a way to destroy Vader and his Inquisitors."

Master Yoda let out a sigh.

"Padawan, thousands of Jedi once there were."Master Yoda exclaimed."Then came war. In our arrogance, join the conflict swiftly we did."

Master Yoda lifted up his walking stick and small clouds of fog revealed the consequences of the Jedi fighting in the Clone Wars.

The bloodshed.

The chaos.

The losses in the fights.

"Fear, anger, hate."Master Yoda admitted sadly."Consumed by the dark side the Jedi were."

This caused Ezra to frown.

"Was it wrong for the Jedi to fight?"Ezra questioned."Is it wrong for me to protect my friends?"

"Wrong? Hmm. A long time, fought I did."Master Yoda declared."Consumed by fear I was, though see it I did not.

Ezra became surprised by Master Yoda's declaration.

"You were afraid?"Ezra asked.

"Yes, afraid."Master Yoda answered with a small smile."Hmm, surprised are you? A challenge lifelong it is, not to bend fear into anger."

Suddenly, the chamber began to shake.

"What's happening?"Ezra questioned nervously.

Master Yoda frowned. "Found you the enemy has."

Outside, Fifth Brother, Sixth Sister and Seventh Sister used the Force to lift the giant stone out of the ground and reveal the entrance to the Lothal Jedi Temple.

Kreia kept talking to Zachary and Gwendolyn.

"You two are both young and still have much to learn."Kreia declared."But I can tell the two of you are nothing like Darth Nihilus. Though I would like to know which you two fight against Darth Sidious and still attend to become Jedi after all the consequences caused by them?"

Gwendolyn frowned. "Why should we tell you?"

Zachary gave a small nod.

"You were the one that rejected the divide of the light and dark side of the Force as well as the predestination the Force entails."Zachary reminded."But no matter the sins that the Lord of Hunger caused and the amount of blood he spilled, we are following our own destinies."

Kreia let out a small scoff.

"Sidious dismantled the Republic, destroyed the Jedi and used the Sith's own greed to fuel his rise to power."Kreia reminded sternly."The galaxy will belong to him unless you act. But will both of you attend to repeat the same mistakes the Jedi of the past did? Judged your mother? Fought with an army that ended up causing their own demise?"

Before Zachary and Gwendolyn could say a respond, the Olin twins found themselves back in a room of the Lothal Jedi Temple and saw it was shaking violently.

"Why did we saw Kreia?"Gwendolyn asked.

"No idea, sis!"Zachary answered."Let's get out of here!"

Zachary and Gwendolyn began making their way out to go find their friends.

Kanan and the Sentinel continue their duel in the dojo until Kanan was finally knocked to the ground.

"Even now, the servants of the dark side come for your apprentice."the Sentinel retorted."You cannot fight forever."

Kanan let out a sigh of defeat as he looked down.

"You're right. I can't protect Ezra forever. Not even from himself."Kanan admitted, understanding that he could only teach Ezra what he knows best."All I can do is what I've done, train him the best I could."

The Sentinel raised his blade and Kanan prepared for death, but instead he performed a knighting ceremony.

"By the right of the Council, by the will of the Force, Kanan Jarrus, you may rise."the Sentinel informed.

Kanan stood up in surprise upon becoming a Jedi Knight and looked at the Sentinel.

"Wait, what does this mean?"the Sentinel asked.

the Sentinel removes his helmet to reveal a familiar face: that of the fallen Grand Inquisitor, who died in the duel with Kanan.

"It means you are what I once was."the Sentinel admitted."A knight of the Jedi Order."

Kanan stated at the Sentinel in shock before noticing the walls were crumbling.

"The temple is falling."the Sentinel warned before pointing to the entrance in front of them."Go. I will delay the enemy."

Kanan nodded and made his way out of the dojo.

Ahsoka became alarmed when she noticed the walls of the Lothal Jedi Temple were beginning to shake violently, making her realise that she had to leave.

"There's still a way."Ahsoka whispered.

Ezra continued speaking with Master Yoda.

"Yeah, but Master Yoda, how are we supposed to win if we don't fight back?"Ezra demanded.

"Win? Win, hmm."Master Yoda said with a small frown."How Jedi choose to win, the question is."

A determined look appeared on Ezra's face.

"We already chose."Ezra stated confidently."We're going to fight."

Master Yoda let out a sigh.

"Find Malachor."Master Yoda ordered deeply.

Ezra became confused.

"Malachor?"Ezra said."Who's Malachor?"

Ezra then noticed he was back in the Lothal Jedi Temple, but Master Yoda was no longer with him.

"Master Yoda?"Ezra called out."Master Yoda!"

Ezra then began making his way out to find his master and friends.

A evil smirk appeared on the Sixth Sister's face upon seeing that her and her fellow comrades had opened the entrance to the Lothal Jedi Temple.

"The secrets of this temple will be ours."Seventh Sister sneered.

Fifth Brother, Seventh Sister and Sixth Sister began approaching the temple with their red blades activated.

Kanan, Ahsoka, Ezra, Zachary and Gwendolyn found each other before the five of them began fleeing out of the Lothal Jedi Temple.

"Kanan, Ahsoka, Zack, Gwen, you won't believe what I-"Ezra started.

"Tell us later!"Kanan demanded."Come on!"

Fifth Brother, Seventh Sister and Sixth Sister found themselves in the main chamber and are confronted by the Jedi Temple Guards.

The Fifth Brother became astonished that the Sentinel has the face of the Grand Inquisitor.

"Grand Inquisitor!"Fifth Brother said in disbelief.

The Temple Guards then surrounded the three Inquisitors.

"Up ahead!"Kanan shouted."The way out!"

Kanan, Ezra, Ahsoka, Zachary and Gwendolyn ran through the temple's catacombs to find an exit.

While running, Ahsoka stopped after sensing a familiar presence.

She turned around and saw Master Yoda, who appeared behind her and waved to his old friend.

Ahsoka smiled at the Jedi Master and then continued onwards.

The group managed to exit the temple and saw Chopper arriving with the Phantom.

"Chopper!"Kanan called out.

Chopper let out a beep.

"He says Imperial forces are on their way!"Ezra warned.

"That's not good!"Zachary retorted.

"Let's hurry!"Gwendolyn insisted.

When Kanan, Ezra, Ahsoka, Zachary and Gwendolyn rushed inside the Phantom, it flew away as soon as they boarded.

Everyone panted to catch their breaths upon having escaped from imperial clutches' and were able to avoid getting caught by the Inquisitors in the Temple.

Zachary wiped away the sweat in his forehead.

"You okay, Zack?"Gwendolyn asked.

"Yeah."Zachary answered."But that was a little too close."

Once he finished panting, Ezra glanced at his companions.

"I saw Master Yoda."Ezra admitted.

Kanan, Ahsoka, Zachary and Gwendolyn looked at Ezra with surprised looks.

"Saw him?"Kanan asked."What did he say?"

"He said to find Malachor."Ezra admitted.

This caused the others to become silent for a moment .

"Who's Malachor?"Ezra questioned.

"Malachor isn't a person."Ahsoka declared with a frown."It's a place."

Zachary and Gwendolyn silently glanced at each other, sharing a nervous expression with one another.

Their parents weren't going to like this.

Especially, their mother.

Back on Lothal, Darth Vader arrived at the Jedi Temple while stormtroopers surrounded the area.

Inside the ancient ruins, the Sith Lord found Sixth Sister, Fifth Brother and Seventh Sister waiting for him.

"My master will be most pleased with this discovery."Darth Vader declared.

Sixth Sister, Fifth Brother and Seventh Sister bowed at Darth Vader.

"Lord Vader."Fifth Brother spoke up."The Jedi are growing in their power."

"It will be their undoing."Darth Vader informed grimly.

Then Darth Vader's mechanical breathing echoed within the ruins of the Lothal Jedi Temple.

See you all in the next chapter and have a wonderful day!
