Hello everyone, I'm Dr kango but you can call me K

I don't own anything in the story but my own ideas and if I accidentally make something similar to a story that is already here then I'm sorry, I haven't read every story

The ages are canon, and the graduation exam goes as canon had it. So does the stealing of the scroll of seals and the interaction between Naruto and the Hokage.

Now, on to the story.

-Time period: after Naruto failed the exam-

As the blonde uzumaki landed in the clearing, he opened the scroll of secrets and his eyes landed on the shadow clone technique.

"Huh, a clone! What use does some stupid illusion have-" Naruto was cut short as he read through the details of the jutsu, his eyes wide.

"This technique is a solid clone; it transfers its knowledge to the user once a clone is dispatched. Hell, yeah! This will definitely get me to become a genin!" Naruto brought his fingers up into a cross sign.

In a puff of smoke, six copies of the blonde appeared. He then grinned, pulled out Naruto's notebook, ripped off a few pages, and handed them around the group. They moved through the scroll of secrets until they reached a section in it.

"Kokonotsu no kami no honō, this ability is stitched with the wielder's chakra. The Kokonotsu Twins Divine Flame is a level system of flames that will burn hotter as the color changes, going from a dull red to a dark purple. Some users have been noted to use a tenth flame, but they are no longer human," Naruto said. His clones quickly wrote down some side techniques that go with the Kokonotsu no kami no honō (Nine Divine Flames).

Taking a deep breath, as the clones wrote down the extra jutsus, Naruto put his hands on the seal section of the paper. The paper had two circles with lines in the shapes of flames leading to the middle, where there was a fox head in the flames. Naruto breathed deeply and followed what was on the paper.

"Hold your hands in the circles and pour all your energy into it. Make sure not to lose contact with the paper, or you will explode. Depending on your power, it could determine the difference between a small crater or the sudden lack of a village."

Pumping his chakra into the seal, he watched it glow as it slid up the nine different sections of flames before it came to the fox head. The black color took Naruto for a loop before his body was surrounded by dull red flames, which grew hotter, changing to vibrant red, then orange, yellow, and white. Teal flames licked his body, the color darkening to deep blue, then deep purple, bright pink, and ending in black flames. As soon as they appeared, they were gone, sucked into the boy's body, leaving him panting. The clones looked on at him in shock. "B-Boss, you alright!" A clone said. He was sweating as he reached out to touch the original and pulled his hand back. "Y-You're burning up!"

As some time passed, the original Naruto, having cooled off enough to be in physical contact with something, looked back at the scroll. The seal that was on the paper faded back to its original dull black color. Looking at the clones, one stepped forward. "Boss, it appears that there is a basic level and an advanced level. We're thinking that it might fall in line with the levels of the Divine flames we now have. The first three are basic attacks, looking similar to how kibble fights. But we've run through the basic hand signs and looked at them fully. You just need to activate them."

Nodding, Naruto stepped back and looked within himself, pulling forth the first flame. The dull red color licked at his feet before he was encased by dull red flames. He looked at the clone as it matched the hand signs. Serpent › Boar › Ox › Dog. As the flames died down, they wrapped around his hand like a claw. He performed a claw swipe, melting the first layer of a nearby stone. "What was this called again?"

"Fureimukurō kihon keitai (flame claw, basic form)"

Nodding his head, he moved through the other basic form jutsu: Ox › Tiger › Rat › Ram. Before stretching his arms out and making a triangle with his thumbs and pointer fingers touching those in the opposite hand, his middle fingers also touching at the tips, he pointed it at the stone again.

A stream of dull red flames shot forward, wrapping around the stone as it melted more and more. Naruto pulled his hands apart as the technique ran out of power, without deactivating the flame cloak he had on.

Panting, Naruto turned to the clone.

"That was Fūrīmūsutorīmu Kihonkei (Flame Stream Basic Form). The last one is similar to this one, but it's more condensed into a beam rather than a stream."

Nodding, Naruto took a deep breath and moved through the last hand signs: Ox, Monkey, Bird. He then clapped his hands together and pointed his pointer and middle fingers at the stone on both hands. A beam of flames shot through the stone, lasting for five more seconds before it died out. The shadow clones dispersed, and the memories flooded back to the original as he groaned. Then, he heard something.

Just then, Iruka landed in the field and looked at the blonde. Activating his Big Head Technique, he screamed, "What the hell were you thinking, Naruto?!"

In a much calmer but still angry tone, Iruka continued, "Do you have any idea how dangerous this is?! You have the whole shinobi force looking for you." Iruka sighed and rubbed his eyes before he looked at the blonde, who was looking rather sheepish.

"Sorry, Iruka-sensei, but Mizuki-sensei said..." "Well, looks like you found the brat first, Iruka," a pale blue-haired man said from the trees as he launched a massive shuriken at the teacher and student. Watching as Iruka pushed Naruto out of the way, he jumped over it, landing on the side of the tree. Iruka pulled out a kunai and deflected a few of the smaller shuriken and kunai that Mizuki had thrown towards him.

Jumping down, Iruka locked blades with Mizuki for a moment before jumping back. "RUN, NARUTO! GET OUT OF HERE!" Iruka screamed, sparks flying as he and Mizuki clashed blades.

Iruka was kicked back, and felt pain dig into his leg as Mizuki landed two shuriken into his former comrade's leg.

"Do you want to know why the people of this village hate you, Naruto! It's because of you that those people died! BECAUSE YOU'RE THE NINE-TAILED DEMON FOX!" Mizuki pulled back his second massive shuriken and threw it hard.

As the blade came to a stop and blood stained the forest floor, Iruka stood in front of Naruto, the large throwing star in his back as he collapsed to his knees, knocking Naruto down onto his back.

"That's not true, Naruto. You aren't the fox," Iruja said, but the look of shock on Naruto's face made it clear he hadn't heard him. Scrambling away with the scroll, Naruto ran, his legs pumping hard as he fled from the madman trying to kill him, from the truth of his birth.

Stumbling into a clearing, he hid behind a tree as he watched Iruka, who had been under a Henge of Naruto, and a second Iruka, who puffed into Mizuki.

"Why do you protect that brat! He killed your parents!" Mizuki's sanity was crumbling as he gripped his head. "I can't get my head around it, Iruka! HE'S THE NINE TAILS IN A... WESKER FORM!! HELP ME KILL HIM AND BRING PEACE TO YOUR PARENTS!" Mizuki screamed, his face red as he stomped forward, pulling a kunai out.

"No... no, because Naruto isn't the nine tails... he's a member of this village and... the closest I have to a little brother. You dare speak to me about avenging my family! You don't know how idiotic that sounds! KILLING A BOY BECAUSE HE IS THE WARDEN OF THE JAILER... you, Mizuki, have truly lost your will of fire!" Iruka started off slowly, catching his breath before he too was screaming. His body forced itself to lift off the ground, and he pulled out a kunai. "You won't leave this place, Mizuki. I thought we were allies, but now I see you are truly lost to the darkness!"

Just before Iruka could move, an orange ball struck Mizuki in the chest. Bouncing back, Naruto stood in a deep crouch. The Scroll of Seals hung on his back, and Naruto tossed it to Iruka, who caught it.

"You dare lay a finger on my sensei... and I'll KILL YOU!" Naruto screamed the last part as he made the dragon and horse hand seals, and his body lit up with a vibrant red color, the second color of the nine divine flames.

"Fūreimu Kurō Kihon Keitai!" Naruto's left hand alighted with the flaming claws as he shot forward, the bright red flames covered Naruto's body as he brought his hand around in a claw strike. On instinct, Naruto jumped over a few shuriken and kunai. Landing, he turned to see the real Mizuki, who had sent a clone in after he was struck by the flying blonde. Going through Tiger Ox Tiger Rat before Mizuki yelled out, "Suiton: Suidan no Jutsu!" Firing out a stream of water at the holder of the Kyūbi_secs.

Watching the steam cloud dissipate, Mizuki had to move as a stream of flames shot past him, catching his flak jacket on fire and making him toss it away. Only to be nailed head-on and have his stomach punched through as Naruto activated his Fūreimukurō kihon keit.

Looking at the wide-eyed boy, Mizuki pulled a kunai and aimed it towards the boy's head, only to have it stopped by an ANBU that the Hokage had sent after the burst of chakra from the activation of the seal.

Pulling his fist from the terrorist's stomach, Naruto looked at his hand before his flames died down. He vomited and then passed out, overwhelmed by the stress of discovering why the villagers hated him. Iruka had said he saw Naruto like a brother, yet punched a hole through Mizuki's stomach—a man Naruto thought he could trust.

-mind-

As Naruto awoke in an inch of water, he got to his feet and looked around, moving through the winding hallways. He arrived at a massive set of cage-like bars in an equally massive room. Hearing a voice from the darkness behind the cage, Naruto jumped back as a form emerged. It was a tall man with long red hair divided into nine braided sections, two fox-like ears, and nine flowing tails sprouting from the man's tailbone. The man wore a black nagagi with gold trimming, a black hakama with the same gold trimming, and a deep red haori with golden trim and a gold depiction of a nine-tailed fox on the back.

"Hello, Naruto Uzumaki, I've been waiting for you since your mother formed your body in her womb," the man said, his voice deep and raspy as the image of a nine-tailed fox appeared behind him.

"You are the holder of me, the great kyuubi, and the wielder of the nine Divine flames, and rarest of them all, the Bukimina kuro honō (eerie black flames)." The human form of the kyuubi growled, his presence was flooded with power and hatred.

"Y- you.. you know who my parents are!" Naruto was in shock, gripping his head and looking at the kyuubi. "Y- you.. how did you know about my mother!"

"Her was my second container, of course, as her son, you are my third. Only Uzumaki's can hold me fully, and you... you are an Uzumaki, at least half of you is. That means you have the only power that I hate more than my idiotic brother, the cursed eyes!" The man slammed his fist into the cage, and his anger spiked. Calming himself down, he looked at the blond boy.

"W- what cursed eyes?" Naruto asked. He was afraid of what could piss off a being of pure chakra so much.

"Those blasted Sharingan eyes!!" the Kyuubi screamed. The pressure of the scream, even in a human form, had knocked Naruto flat on his ass.

"Sharingan? What do you mean, Sharingan!" Naruto said, standing up as he looked at the Kyuubi. Seeing his reflection in the water, he noticed two tomoe in his left eye and one in his right. Leaning down to get a better look, Naruto couldn't believe what he saw—his eyes. Blinking, the blonde looked at the fox in its human form.

Standing upright from his kneeling position in the large room, Naruto blinked as he saw that the man had a glow to him. The young shinobi blinked again before his eyes rolled back into his head, and he fell bonelessly to the ground of his mind.

-Konoha hospital-

Naruto's body stiffened before he shot upright, his forehead covered in a thin layer of sweat and his eyes burning slightly. Looking around, he saw the Third Hokage. "Jiji... Why did you never tell me that I had a Bijuu? Why, Jiji!" Naruto cried, looking away from the old man he saw as a grandfather figure.

"Naruto, my boy... I'm sorry, but you weren't ready at that time. You were a child, and you still are a child. My boy, forgive this old fool," said the old, tired, and aged voice of Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage. His face looked much older than a moment before.

"Jiji.. tell me who my parents are, I can protect myself now!" Naruto said, his voice gained something the hokage never thought he would hear: desperation, the need to know something.

The Hokage nodded before he went through a few hand signs too fast and stomped his foot down. "Sound Suppression," the only thing Naruto caught from the old man.

"Your parents, my boy, are Minato Namikaze, also known as the Yellow Flash and the Fourth Hokage. Your mother is Kushina Uzumaki, also known as the Red Hot Habanero or the Red Death during the Third War. Together, they made you, Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, the Orange Prankster of the Leaf," the Hokage tried to joke as he watched the boy he saw as a grandson process this information.

"But... why would they seal the Kyuubi into their own son!" Naruto blurted out, turning to look at Hiruzen, his eyes filled with pain.

"Because you are an Uzumaki, only they can hold the Nine-Tails. They loved you and cherished you even when you were in your mother. Naruto, you have two legendary legacies to uphold," the old man patted the boy on the back as they spent a couple of hours talking about the blonde's parents.

As the sun started to rise on a new day, the old Hokage said that once Naruto was released from the hospital, he needed to come to the Hokage Tower and get his headband. He stated that it was a field promotion that brought him to the rank of genin, and that he would be one even if he failed the true graduation exam.

-hokage tower, 1850 (6:50 pm)-

As the Hokage sat Naruto down, he passed him a forehead protector of the Leaf Village. "My boy, I know about you learning the Kokonotsu no Kami no Honō. I also know you have the three basic moves to a sloppy level. I have a theory that you can unlock its full potential. So, I'm giving you a few more scrolls on the additions of that technique. You can use the week to get them. Study as much as you can. Remember, though." The Hokage said before he leaned back and pulled his pipe out, looking for his matches. Before he could find them, Naruto leaned forward, a finger alight with flame, and lit the old man's pipe.

"Thank you, my boy. As I was saying, with great power comes great enemies. If you are anything like your parents, you'll have many of them," the Hokage said, puffing on his pipe. The smell of tobacco filled the air as he blew out some smoke.

"I have arranged a drop-off of the scrolls at Training Ground Sixteen. It's on the farther side of the village and has a pond in the center." With that, the Hokage got his break, and Naruto got to train.

-training ground 16-

As Naruto arrived, he saw a satchel bag in a hollow section of a tree. Fishing them out, Naruto grinned as he opened it to find eight scrolls and a few books.

Kokonotsu no shinseina-en no sugata (Forms of the nine sacred flames)

Shinseina-en no disuku 9-mai (9 divine flame discs)

Moeru yōna suteppu (fiery steps)

Jōka no honō (purifying flame)

Honō no kamujin (divine blade of flame)

As Naruto read through the first scroll, his eyes widened. It was a taijutsu style that worked in combination with the Kokonotsu no kami no honō. Bringing his fingers together, Naruto made more shadow clones than he needed for the taijutsu. Looking at the three dozen clones, Naruto groaned as he dropped the bag. Hearing a thud, he opened it up again to find a sixth scroll. This one was a chakra control exercise called tree walking. Getting a basic idea, the original turned to the clones and told them how to do it. Watching as they slowly moved to the trees, he lay down on the grass. The clones pressed their feet to the tree until they felt them stick to it, slowly inching up the trees.

Naruto looked better at the bag this time, pulling out two more scrolls. One was a basic physical workout routine, and the other was on fuinjutsu. As Naruto cracked the scrolls open, he looked at the fuinjutsu scroll, nearly lost in the wonders of the craft. Idly, he glanced at the routine and started his physical training: a hundred push-ups, a hundred squats, and a hundred kicks and punches with both hands and feet, all while reading the text that detailed fuinjutsu.

Pulling out the last scroll, this one was in kenjutsu. A few books on politics and the history of the village, and a book on the Uzumaki clan, slowly he formed a hand seal. Six clones popped into existence, taking the books on politics and the Uzumaki clan. He then looked through the workout routine before starting his training, all while looking over the scroll on fuinjutsu.

-Time skip: team selection (7 days)-

As Naruto stood outside the academy, he smiled brightly before looking down at his new clothes.

Dressed in black shinobi sandals, black cargo pants with a red rope belt around his waist, a black skin-tight shirt under his sunset orange nagagi, and a red haori that came to his mid-thigh, with a white uzumaki crest emblazoned on the back, between his shoulder blades.

A black tanto was strapped to his hip. He was skilled with it as the uzumaki blood pumped through his veins. He had picked up the blade from an ANBU sent by the Hokage to deliver it to him, easily mastering the way of the blade.

Now, as he walked through the school to his classroom, his hands moved up to adjust the headband on his forehead. The new black cloth band hung down to the nape of his neck. Stepping into the classroom, he walked to his usual spot, in the middle of the class. Getting settled, he closed his eyes and crossed his arms, feeling something in a small pocket on his nagagi. He reached in and pulled out a book.

"The Tale of the Utterly Gutsy Shinobi? What is that about Naruto? And what are you doing here anyway? This is for the people who passed." Naruto's eyes lifted to the speaker, his eyes lighting up as he thumbed his forehead protector.

"Look here, Shikamaru, a standard issue headband!" Naruto said, his voice full of confidence, only getting a "troublesome loud blonde" from the pineapple-haired boy, as he slouched away to his best friend Chouji.

As the class filled in, some were shocked that the dead last was here and had a headband. Before Iruka came in and explained the white lie the Hokage had gotten caught up in.

"Naruto is here because he helped stop a traitor who was trying to escape with a very important object of this village. He was given that headband as a sign of loyalty to the village and for the help he provided in stopping the traitor. With that out of the way, let's start with teams."

As Iruka listed off his other classmates, Naruto was broken out of his train of thought when he heard the seventh team.

"Naruto uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha and Hinata hyuga your sensei is kakashi hatake" the Sasuke fangirls fell at that

"Team eight, Sakura haruno, kiba Inuzuka and Shino Aburame under Kurenai Yūhi" Sakura's face fell even more as she groaned

"Team nine is still in circulation, so Team Ten consists of Shikamaru Nara, Choji Akimichi, and Ino Yamanaka, under Asuma Sarutobi. That's it for class. Come meet up with your sensei after lunch."

As the students left in their groups, some of the Sasuke fangirls went away, saddened that they weren't on his team. Naruto approached Sasuke. "Sasuke, I know we have our differences, but we are a team now, and I don't think we should keep hating each other. You see me as weak, so help me get stronger so that I don't hold you back."

The raven-haired boy looked at the blonde before he grunted and reached out, shaking his hand. Sasuke stood up, "Whatever, Naruto. You better not hold me back." Sasuke's voice was cool and composed, but he groaned when he looked at the blonde.

"I guess we should get to know each other better... Get our other teammate and meet up on the roof so we can move to a place to eat." With that, Sasuke walked off. Before he left the room, he turned and looked at Naruto. "And don't be late."

Finally, leaving, Naruto turned to get Hinata. The shy girl had squeaked when he approached her, accidentally spooking the poor girl. "Hey, Hinata, me and Sasuke are going to the roof to meet up. You being on our team, you should join us so we can get something together!" Naruto's grin lit up his face as he looked at the girl before she fainted.

Picking her up, Naruto ran to one of the windows and opened it. He then used chakra to walk up the wall and get to the roof. Sasuke looked mildly annoyed as he stood up. "How did you do that, Naruto? And why is she out cold?" Sasuke said, curiosity lightly making its way into his words.

"Oh, I used a chakra exercise to walk up the side of the building, and Hinata fainted when I asked her to come eat with the two of us." Naruto gained a large smile before he set her down and pulled out some smelling salts to run under the girl's nose. This made her sit up and cough for a moment before she got up and grimaced at the smell.

"N- naruto-kun, what d- did you put under my nose, a- and why am I on the roof with you and Sasuke-san?" Hinata asked before her pre-fainting spell memories hit her, and she blushes a deep red. "G- gomen, Naruto-kun, and Sasuke-san."

As the three looked at each other, Sasuke spoke up, "Alright, we should probably get some food. Any suggestions?" With that, Naruto looked between the two of them.

"I picked up some groceries yesterday, and I know how to cook. If you want to come over, I planned on making some food anyway."

Nodding in agreement, the three pre-teens left the academy and made their way to Naruto's apartment. The place was surprisingly clean; Naruto had spent some time doing a full deep clean of his apartment. He guided Sasuke to his couch, and Hinata offered to help Naruto cook.

As the two entered the kitchen, the blonde smiled at the navy-haired girl before they started cooking together, making fried fish with rice and some steamed vegetables.

As they played and moved back to Sasuke, they found him reading the book Naruto had about the Uzumaki clan. Looking up, Sasuke put it on the small table next to the couch as he watched the two put down the three plates of food. As they started to eat, they talked about what they could be doing with their sensei. Naruto remembered something the Hokage said.

"I think we'll have the real test once Kakashi-sensei arrives to pick us up. I've also done some digging, and it turns out that Team Seven is usually the team that does something called the bell test. I don't know what it is, but I think it might be a trap to get us to not work together. I mean, think about it: why put us in a three-man team if you're going to split us apart anyway?"

Naruto looked up to see Sasuke and Hinata staring at him "what?"

"That's the smartest thing you've said, Naruto," Sasuke said, eating his fried fish.

Hinata patted Naruto's shoulder as she gave him a small smile "i- it was quite intelligent o- of you N- Naruto-kun"

Sucking his teeth, he shot a glare at Sasuke before Naruto sent a smile at Hinata. The girl flushed as she looked down, her shyness coming back after that smile.

As the three finished eating, they formed strategies and plans for the test ahead of them.

-academy room-

As the teams reassembled in the classroom, soon the senseis started to come and collect the teams, leaving just Naruto, Sasuke, and Hinata in the room waiting for Kakashi.

As the three hours passed, Naruto had taken to reading the book he had stored in his top. Hinata looked over his shoulder and read along with him, while Sasuke looked out the window, resting his eyes, as if he was thinking for the three hours before the classroom door opened.

Sasuke shifted at the sound of it. In stepped a man in jounin clothing, blue Shinobi sandals, and a pair of navy blue pants with white wraps around his calves and ankles. He wore a navy blue three-quarters top of the same material as the pants, with the Uzushiogakure crest on the arms, and a forest green flak jacket, the Uzushiogakure crest on the back of it as well. He had a black mask that covered the lower half of his face, with his headband pulled over the left side of his face, covering his left eye.

"Yo, team seven?" Kakashi said as he stepped through the door, one hand tucked into his pocket and the other holding a book called Icha-Icha Paradise. Looking up from the book, he looked at the three genin and did an eye smile.

"Sorry I'm late. Had to help an elderly lady with her grocery bags on the way here," Kakashi chuckled lightly before raising an eyebrow.

"No outbursts, no silly pranks. My first impression, you're all lame," Kakashi said, getting a deadpan look from the pre-teens. "Meet me on the roof, don't be late."

Puffing away in a cloud of smoke, Kakashi waited the minute it took for the three of them to arrive on the roof. Naruto had carried them up with the tree-walking exercise.

He was flushed with embarrassment from having to cling onto the blonde, and Sasuke was pissed that he couldn't do it.

"I see you all are up here. That's good. Now, let's introduce ourselves. I'll go first." Kakashi put his book away and looked at them.

"My name is Kakashi Hatake. My likes... well, I like a lot of things. I dislike traitors and those who abandon their comrades. My hobbies... well, I have a lot of dreams," Kakashi said, flashing an eye smile. "Your turn, Blondie."

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki! I like ramen, my garden, and my friends! I dislike those who can't tell the difference between a scroll and a kunai, and traitors! Oh, and the three minutes it takes for the ramen to cook, hehe. My hobbies are training and tending to my garden. My dream... Well, recently, I'd say it was to become Hokage, but now, I think it is to bring back my clan and restore it to its glory!" Naruto said, shoving his fist into the air before sitting back down, having stood up while he talked.

"Next is you, princess," Kakashi said, his eyes moving to Hinata, which made her 'eep'.

"My name is... Hinata Hyuga. My likes are..." She stole a glance at Naruto before taking a deep breath. "My little sister and my clan. I dislike the caged bird seal my family uses on the branch family. My hobbies are flower pressing and gardening. And my dream..." Hinata gulped before she took a deep breath. "...is to remove the caged bird seal from my other clansmen and women! And to be a great clan head..." Hinata said, her voice briefly filled with confidence, as her stutter made it hard for her to speak, and with her soft-spoken nature, she was quiet.

A shy girl with a crush on the dense idiot, the same idiot with a dream of action... and then you, Kakashi thought, looking at the raven-haired youth. "Your go, edgelord."

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a lot of things and I don't particularly like anything. My dream is not one, because I'll make it a reality," Sasuke said, his fingers interlocked as he gazed from behind them. "I'll kill a certain man and bring back the Uchiha name. I don't have any hobbies besides training."

"Dammit, Sasuke, you are in the darkness!" Naruto thought, looking at his rival, the one person besides Iruka he saw as a brother.

'Sasuke-san... he is so cold,' Hinata thought, a shiver running down her back as she slid closer to Naruto.

"An avenger... how typical of someone to lose their family in one night. I hope that we can lead you out of that darkness, Sasuke," Kakashi thought. His face... his eye? The lazy look in his exposed eye hid the thoughts he was thinking.

As Naruto and Hinata looked at their teammate, Naruto's eyes narrowed, and Hinata's eyes widened with fear.

"Alright, let's get to the final details," Kakashi said, looking at the three. "Tomorrow you'll go through the final test. Meet me at the training field with the memorial stone at six o'clock." With that, Kakashi puffed away from the three pre-teens.

-Time skip: 0600 in the training field-

As the pre-teens sat in the field, waiting for their sensei, they realized that he would be late again. Leaving the grounds to get food, they returned to see that their sensei was still not there.

As the last two hours passed after they had eaten, as they had waited, Naruto worked on his fuinjutsu while Sasuke looked at the blonde, looking over his shoulder halfway. As a puff formed in the middle of the clearing, and the smoke disappeared, revealing their sensei, "sorry I'm late, I had to help a-".

Snatching a kunai out of the air, he looked at his sensei's son. "Naruto, that was quite a bit much, don't you think?"

"Yeah, yeah, sensei. Let's get on with this test," Naruto said as he hopped up, tucking away the scroll on fuinjutsu.

"Let's begin then. You'll have until noon to get these two bells," Kakashi said, pulling out the bells and tying them to his belt. Pulling out his orange book, he started to read as the three kids bounded away in a group. Pulling into a small clearing, the three looked around at each other.

As some time passed before Naruto came out of the woods, his body was lit with vibrant red fire, and nine disks formed over his palms. Whipping them around, Naruto launched his technique, "Shinseina-en no disuku 9-mai!"

Kakashi bouncing out of the way, before he had to substitute with a log as Naruto appeared under him had struck out, his fist ripped through the log

"Holy shit!" Sasuke said, watching as he shot out of the woods. Running through hand signs, he shot a fireball at his sensei.

Slinging two kunai behind the fireball, he made his sensei take a step back before making him put away the book. Jumping back into the water, Kakashi ran through hand signs and raised up a water wall before a flaming crescent hit it.

"Honō no kamui," Naruto landed, his hand wrapped around the handle of his tanto, the blade flaming as he brought it up, horizontal. Shooting forward, he swung his blade.

As the blade hit the water, it boiled. He jumped, swinging it down. A second flaming crescent shot forward, forcing Kakashi to substitute with a log. Sasuke then blocked a spinning heel blow. Kakashi gripped the raven-haired youth and slung him away, only to see Hinata behind, throwing blows at the jounin. Jumping back to avoid a spinning leg kick, Kakashi did a backbend and hopped up. Naruto extended his leg, and Sasuke appeared on top of it, shooting off with a second heel kick at Kakashi's head. Blocking the blow, Sasuke twisted and shot a falling crescent kick, which Kakashi blocked with his other arm. Naruto then slammed a double-footed drop kick into Kakashi's chest, launching him back.

Rolling to his feet kakashi grunted before he pull a kunai out and block a downward blow from Naruto, his sword no longer flaming

Hopping back, he grinds before jumping up and landing on Sasuke's back, shoving down and slamming Sasuke into the dirt. Hinata appears behind him, slamming a palm strike into Kakashi's left leg, making it harder for him to move faster. Running through a set of seals, he brings up a stone wall, stopping a fiery fist that melts away at the stone, giving Kakashi enough time to hop back. Throwing a few shuriken at the group, he tries to get away from the three to catch his breath. Landing in a clearing, Kakashi takes a deep breath, looking out into the trees, only to see a flying blonde aimed at him.

Jumping over the blonde boy, he flipped over a few shuriken only to jump away from Hinata, who struck out. She was breathing heavily, and Sasuke wasn't far off. Naruto jumped up from behind, shooting a kick off Kakashi's back, pushing him forward and right into Hinata's palm strike into his stomach.

Kakashi stumbled back before kicking Hinata away. This was a mistake, as Naruto shot forward and slammed into the man's back. Naruto them shot towards Hinata, catching her before she hit a tree. Sasuke fired a fireball at the silver-haired man, who made a stone wall to block it.

Hopping up to the top of the stone wall, he caught a blow from Naruto that pushed him off the wall before he flipped and landed on his feet. Reaching up, he caught the falling ax kick of Naruto, only for Hinata to hit him in the leg and stomach, weakening him further. He then slammed Naruto into Sasuke, grabbed Hinata's wrist, and tossed her into the boys. Feeling the chakra in his legs moving sluggishly and the muscles tightening, he groaned. He ducked a wild haymaker thrown by a Naruto clone from behind, realizing it was a clone as he slammed his elbow into its sternum, watching it puff away. This created a smokescreen, allowing the three to leap away, giving Kakashi enough time to recover.

As the three looked at the sky, they cursed slightly. It was nearly noon. Naruto led the charge, sending a flying knee that Kakashi caught and retaliated with a palm strike to his chest, making him puff into smoke. The real Naruto dropped from above and shoved his hand forward. He was missing his haori, his tanto also gone. Before he looked to the place the clone had rushed from, he saw Sasuke running, tanto at his side. Before he whipped it from the sheath, he jabbed forward.

Spinning, Kakashi deflected the tanto and side-stepped a falling Naruto, who whipped his haori at the jounin, covering his face. Before he noticed, Naruto snatched the bells, but was kicked away, and his haori was tossed aside. Only then did Kakashi realize that Hinata had substituted with it and slammed a non-chakra-infused blow. Kakashi tried to jump over it, but got hit in the hip, making him wince slightly. He watched as Hinata pulled her hand back, shaking it lightly.

As Sasuke landed next to the blonde, followed by Hinata, Naruto's face broke into a wide grin. He rolled to his feet and tossed the bells to his two teammates. "Guess I go back to the academy, huh, sensei?"

As the three looked at the silver-haired man, he gave them an eye smile. "Not quite, Naruto. You see, this-"

This test was on teamwork. We understand that part, but why only two bells? Anyone with enough knowledge of the village would know that there is never a three-man cell of a jounin and two genin.

Kakashi looked at the blonde, his visible eye twitching. "Like I was saying... it's to make you think about your own goals. And if you were sent back to the academy, you'd never be able to manage to do it. Sasuke wants to kill that man, Hinata wants to become a clan head, and finally, you, Naruto, want to help restore your clan's name."

Kakashi said, "Now, let's go get lunch." With that, they left.

-Hokage office-

"You are quite the shinobi. Let's see your will of fire, Naruto, my boy," Hiruzen said as he smiled at his crystal ball, taking puffs from his pipe as he leaned back in his chair, pulling a few papers out of his desk and looking at them.

"Minato, Kushina, I truly believe now that your son is ready to know of your techniques. Well, he already has your technique, and if I dare say, he's better than you were."

As the old Hokage looked on at the papers describing the workings of the Hiraishin and the Rasengan, his eyes moved to Kushina's technique, a jutsu her son already had. He then looked at the last one, Taiyō no Sabaki, the technique that made her famous in the Third War. She fought for two days and one night before she finally passed out due to chakra exhaustion, holding off several hundred enemies from Iwa. Her future husband, the Yellow Flash, appeared by her side and slaughtered the thousand reinforcements Iwa had sent.

Already feeling a smile form, he looked at the crystal ball again before closing it and tucking it back into his desk with the papers holding scrolls.

-the next day-

As Naruto bounced up and down, he delivered four hard blows to a wooden dummy, indenting the wooden surface. Then, he kicked out its legs and brought down his Fūreimukurō kihon keitō into the dummy's chest.

Jumping back, he brought his hands through the seals and fired his Fūreisutorīmu Kihonkei, destroying the dummy.

Standing in his personal training field, he whipped away some sweat before looking at his clones. They had started work on breaking down the different fuinjutsu seals and remaking them, with some being improved. He lifted his hand up, catching a pebble. Turning, he saw Sasuke Uchiha standing at the opening of the clearing. "Naruto... I have come here to ask for help. I want to... no, I need to be strong so I can beat my brother," Sasuke said before catching the pebble speeding back at him.

"You won't get stronger thinking like that, Sasuke. True strength comes from the bonds you have with your friends and the help you receive. It makes you stronger than ever because you fight to protect, not to destroy," Naruto said, slipping into the fighting stance he had learned from the scroll he had been given in his satchel a few days ago.

Naruto's feet spread slightly, shoulder-width apart. His arms were up in an X over his chest, with his knees bent and his body leaning forward. Seeing this, Sasuke slipped into his own stance.

Knees bent, hips left, arm going across his chest horizontally, and his right arm going at an angle in front of his left arm, both hands curled into claws.

Shooting off, Naruto and Sasuke clashed. Naruto ducked a sudden roundhouse kick, followed by Sasuke jumping up to avoid his leg being swept out from under him. Landing on his hands, Sasuke jumped again, landing some feet away before coming at Naruto again. He threw blow after blow at the blonde, who deflected each blow. Sasuke got angrier and angrier as he jumped into a spinning kick that Naruto ducked. Only then did he get caught by a straight kick into Naruto's crossed arms, sending the blonde rolling back, while Sasuke landed in a perfect backflip.

Before Sasuke had time to get balanced again, Naruto slammed two blows into Sasuke's stomach, one to his chest, and finished with a spinning heel to Sasuke's left cheek, which sent the last Uchiha flying back.

Spinning down to a low crouch, Naruto dodged the two kunai that thunked into the post behind him. He then shot forward and locked in a taijutsu bout. After they split off, Sasuke was breathing heavily, covered in a light layer of sweat, with bruises already forming. Naruto stepped forward, held out his hand, and incased the Uchiha in flames, shouting, "Jōka no honō!" The flames vanished, leaving Sasuke recharged and healed completely. Blinking, Sasuke looked at Naruto, who burst into flames again, crying, "Jōka no honō!" When the fire left his body, Naruto looked perfectly fine. Grinning, he looked at the Uchiha.

"See, Sasuke, this is why bonds are so important. Look at me; I'm already on par with you after a week. And imagine how strong you would be if we worked together and had a stronger bond!" Naruto reached out to bump his fist with Sasuke's.

Looking at the blonde, Sasuke reached out and bumped fists with Naruto. A moment passed before Naruto grinned and delivered a spinning roundhouse kick that Sasuke mimicked. Their legs clashed in a powerful lock, and Sasuke locked his Sharingan eyes with Naruto's, one tomo in each of them.

"Congratulations, Sasuke, you've got your eyes. Let's take this to the next level!" Jumping back, Naruto dropped into his fighting stance before he shot forward, throwing fists and feet at Sasuke. The other boy struggled to slap away the blonde's fists and side-step or try to avoid some of them.

Dropping low, Naruto spun, watching Sasuke hop into the air. Only for Naruto to speed up and slam a foot into Sasuke's stomach, sending him back.

As Naruto stood up, he looked at the Uchiha. His own Sharingan activated, and Sasuke jumped into a spinning heel.

As Naruto stood up, he looked at the Uchiha. His own Sharingan activated. Sasuke jumped into a spinning heel that Naruto caught. Then, Sasuke pulled a similar technique to the bell test by slamming a straight kick into Naruto's face and shooting back into a flip. Running forward, he jumped and slammed a front kick into Naruto's chest.

Naruto gripped Sasuke's ankle and spun, throwing the black-haired boy away into a training post. Sasuke gasped as the air was forced from his lungs.

"Sasuke, are you alright?" Naruto said, stepping up to the boy on the ground. He coughed up a bit of spit before shifting and standing up.

"Y- yeah.. that's a good strategy, didn't expect you to throw me tho!" Sasuke said, throwing a punch at Naruto's head only for the blonde to duck and swiftly sidestepped the slinging body

As Naruto grinned and chuckled, he helped Sasuke to his feet and stepped off the training field, escorting the boy home before heading to his own house, bouncing from rooftop to rooftop.

Landing on the balcony, he smiled at his small garden, watering the plants as he whistled softly. His movements were fluid, and his mind ticked by as the sun slipped beneath the horizon.

It was the rest day for the team. He sat down inside, cooking dinner and setting the table. He sat down and finally felt alone. That was until he heard a knock and moved over to the door. Opening the door, Naruto blinked as he saw Hinata, Sasuke, and Kakashi standing at his door, all having food they had.

Hinata brought a large platter of sushi while Sasuke brought some homemade yaki udon, and Kakashi brought some barbecued meats from a local restaurant in the Akimichi region of the market.

Naruto invited them in to eat with him, having made some grilled salmon, fried rice, and steamed vegetables. As the group ate and talked, they bonded like a team, growing closer like a family. This was a second family with a stronger bond than any they had before. Kakashi shared stories about his last teammates, explaining the origin of his Sharingan eye and the loss of his sensei, who was also his second father figure.

Naruto then explained about him being the jailor of the kyuubi no Yoko and being the jinchuuriki of it, along with the hardships that came with it.
