So I've been obsessed with the Rival Stars Horse Racing video game the past few months, which I discovered because of one of my favorite Sims 4 horse YouTubers, Abigail Pine Haven. I know in the actual game it's the player's grandfather that passed away and father that had the accident, but in order for this obscure crossover to work it has to be the great grand grandfather and grandfather because if Donald isn't alive none of the Lab Rats side works obviously. Also please send help because my coffee maker broke.
Breana had found the mysterious letter when she went looking in Donald's desk for the secret stash of advil (well only secret to anyone besides her, Chase and Donald, and Danny by proxy because he knew almost everything his twin sister did) after she woke up to a migraine. From it, although it was addressed to Donald, she deduced that she had a great-grandfather who apparently was very old when he passed away, and that her grandfather, Donald's father, passed away in a horse racing accident when he was about a teenager, she would have to look everything up to confirm the dates at a later time.
Even without super smarts, this revelation made it make sense why Donald had never talked about his family, besides the whole brother-being-evil scenario that they had gone through. Francis Kwan, the sender of the letter, looked to be no more than ten years older than Donald, however had had been at both her great-grandfather's last horse race as well as her grandfather's,
Breana put the letter back where it had been after making a copy of it. It had already been opened, so it wasn't like she would get in trouble for that. However, her father had put it in a very poor hiding place knowing that his daughter was prone to migraine just like him, and because of the amount of painkillers they went through because of training, superheroing and general boo boos, the various first aid kits were often empty, so Breana had went to the place she had known for sure wouldn't be out of Advil.
After reading the letter, it was almost like magic. Her phone started suggesting various horse videos more than it normally would while she doom scrolled on social media. Hers was private, of course, and she mostly still had it to keep up with her family while they were living in different places, however she sometimes still looked at old pictures from when Marcus had first had her set up her accounts, because grief came and went. Social Media was also a place to post silly videos of her service dog, Badger. That was her only public account, and admittedly, it was very popular. Other than that, she definitely stayed under the radar compared to some of her siblings.
Breana contemplated the life change. Of course, she or someone would have to take care of the horses somehow if she continued supheroing at the same level; but at the same time she was getting really tired of the drama that followed her family. So she wrote a letter in return, including her phone number so Francis Kwan could contact her easier in return. She would just send the letter with signature required so that her phone number didn't fall into the wrong hands. However, she didn't mention that she hadn't talked to her father yet. Snail mail takes a decent amount of time, especially with the way the government has been messing up the post office, so she was sure that she would have that detail worked out by the time Francis received her reply.
Of course, there was the off chance that the horse part didn't work out either. That was the thing with taking a chance like this, you just never knew.
By the time Donald returned from his business trip, Breana was extremely eager to talk to her father, more so than she normally would be. She gave him time to recover, and when she had waited long enough, she nearly tripped over Badger.
"Oof buddy I know you're happy to see grandpa but please don't kill me today." Breana remarked, scratching the large German shepherd on the ears anyways.
"I'll do it." Breana announced confidently while she approached Donald's desk.
"Do what?" Donald wondered. "What are you talking about? Why weren't you paying attention on the stairs?"
"I'll take over your grandpa's farm." Breana answered, sitting on the chair across from Donald's desk. Meanwhile, Badger laid his head on Donald's lap asking for pets.
"What do you mean? How did you find about that?" Donald asked Breana, while scratching behind Badger's ears.
"You put the letter in the same drawer as the advil. Literally the worst hiding place." Breana chuckled.
"Oh. I guess I did, I had other things on mind. But did you even think it through?" Donald wondered. "You don't even know how to ride horses.
Breana rolled her eyes. "Yes, because you didn't have use around horses even after Danny and I were un-kidnapped. Did you forget that I have super smarts? That will make it even easier to learn to ride besides the fact that it's in my blood. If the great grandfather that I'd never met lived to be 100 just to spite everyone, then I could learn to ride horses."
Donald rolled his eyes. Of course his daughter was just as stubborn as he was, his stubbornness being why he never went into the family business besides the fact that science was his and Douglas' calling. "What are you going to do if you get hurt?"
Breana laughed, the sound turning into a smirk. "I'll do what I always do. Heal and move on. I think you're forgetting all the bullshit I've been through, especially this one." She pulled up her shorts before lightly pulling at the gap where her prosthetic met her leg.
"Plus statistically, there is still less chance of me getting hurt around horses than superheroing." Breana pointed out.
"That may be true but horses are a lot of work. They're also hard to make money off of, more often you put more money into them that they put out." Donald reminded Breana.
"Yes, but that's where Daddy's Money comes in." Breana laughed.
"I can't always bail you kids out." Donald rolled his eyes.
"I just mean so the horses don't die if it comes to that, I don't know how much money would be in your grandfather's estate or how that works. Nobody we know that died ever had money." Breana reminded Donald.
Donald sighed. "I guess there's no stopping you. Good luck. I'll sign over the estate to you. Douglas is still legally dead so there shouldn't be a problem with his share."
"Thank you." Breana smiled, pulling Donald into a hug.
Donald hugged his daughter back. He couldn't protect her from the dangers of superheroing, nor could he protect her from the dangers of horses.
