Just a little story about Mildred and John Pruitt when they were 17. May be continued if it's well-received.

Pre-Canon, Circa early 1970’s: Mildred Gunning and Father Pruitt have been resisting the growing strength of their attraction to each other. What will make them finally give in to their desire?

It's Mildred's wedding day, and John just can't bring himself to be happy for her.

In truth, as the days went by, Mildred thought of her husband less and less and of Father Pruitt more and more. It wasn't that she didn't love George, she was just becoming increasingly aware that maybe she didn't love him in the right way - not the way she was beginning to fall in love with John.

The old island Doc has retired, leaving a gaping healthcare void on the island. Fresh out of residency and tired of the grind in mainland hospitals, Dr. Pryn wanted a rural community to serve - Crockett Island seemed like the perfect fit. Becoming close friends with the old priest, she is devastated when he falls sick - until an oddly familiar replacement comes along.

He has become a trinity in his own way, blasphemous as that may be. There is John, the Man, Monsignor Pruitt, the Father, and Father Paul, the…Spirit? No. The Ghost. Father Paul, once Monsignor Pruitt, and the seven sacraments.

With a new twist of events re-written. A young girl arrives on the island, and resembles a woman Paul once knew...and loved.

John has so much he wants to tell Mildred before they die - she and the beautiful, perfect little girl they created together are the loves of his life.
