Mario and Violet had won their match, they even made sure that they were hit three times.
Mr. Grubba stated, "We got ourselves the winners! Red Comet and Icy Punch!"
Violet gushed, "We did it, Mario!"
Mario replied, "We sure did!"

After the fight, Jolene gave them some money. She gave them 6 coins and their ranking went up to 13. That's when she left once again. King K went up to them.
Flurrie saw his gaze, "King K? Are you okay?"
King K answered, "Yeah but just keep this under your hat. I'm thinkin' about retirin' soon."
Violet was surprised, "Wow, that's surprising."
King K confirmed, "If I stay any longer...well, my future might get shorter, dig? After the next match, I'm gone."
Koops stated, "Well, if that's what you want."
King K said, "I do and I know it ain't cool, but you know what? That's life."
Luigi responded, "You are right about that."
King K pleaded, "Listen... You be cool, man. Promise me you won't forget you once knew the King K."
Goombella reassured, "Don't worry, we won't forget you."
Mario agreed, "She's right, we won't forget you."
King K smiled as he walked off. Mario went to schedule another fight.
"Welcome to the automated match-reservation system. What is your command?"
Mario had selected 'Reserve a Match'. Mr. Grubba had appeared on the screen.
He told them, "Well, boy howdy, Comet! Fixin' for a fight, huh?"
Mario confirmed, "Yes we are."
Mr. Grubba checked, "Alright then. Lemme just see here... Yer next opponent will be... Ranked 12 in the Glitz Pit... The Punk Rocks! Now listen: in this battle, I want you to use at least one special move, okay? That includes hand powers. The crowd needs somethin' flashy, you catch my drift? Give 'em a good show. Now get in there and blow off the roof son!"
Mario confirmed, "Got it. The next ones to go out are: Shell Raiser and Pink Destructor."
Mr. Grubba nodded, "Right. Now good luck."
With that, the screen turned off. Koops and Goombella were ready to go as security got them. They went to their match.

Mr. Grubba announced, "For our next battle, we got the Merciless Executioners, Shell Raiser and Pink Destructor! And... The Green Torture Squad... Yep, a fight to finish with The Punk Rocks!"
Koops commented, "I am so ready to fight."
Goombella replied, "Yeah me too!"
One of the Punk Rocks said, "This no take long. This end in pain for you two."
Mr. Grubba commented, "Let's get yerselves ready to...battle!"
The gong went off as the fight begun. Goombella and Koops used a few special moves before taking out the Punk Rocks.
Mr. Grubba stated, "We got ourselves the winners! Shell Raiser and Pink Destructor!"

After the fight, Jolene gave them some money. She gave them 7 coins and their ranking went up to 12. Jolene left them, as the group saw that King K was true to his word. He did indeed retire.
Flurrie commented, "I'm going to miss him."
Violet stated, "Me too, he was a good egg."
Mario told the group, "He was right about one thing though. You only live once, enjoy it while you can."
Goombella replied, "There is some truth to that."
Luigi replied, "And you shouldn't take things for granted."
Koops added, "Or people."
To that, Luigi nodded in agreement. Mario went to schedule another fight.

Mr. Grubba replied, "Alright. Now get in there an' hand out a whuppin' or two!"
With that, the screen turned off again. Violet give Luigi a good luck kiss on the lips this time. Luigi returned it as security came in to take them to their fight.

Mr. Grubba announced, "For our next battle, we got the Merciless Executioners, Green Thunder and Windy Madame! And... The Big Bomb Boomers... Yep, a fight to finish with The Bob-omb Squad!"
Luigi asked, "You ready for this?"
Flurre confirmed, "Ready, Luigi!"
One of the Bob-ombs said, "Here we go, Thunder BOMB! I have advice! Just give up now BOMB-BOMB!"
Mr. Grubba commented, "Let's get yerselves ready to...battle!"
The gong went off as the fight begun. It was hard for Luigi and Flurrie to try not to jump out of the way. But they managed to take the win.

Cleftor stated, "No lonely... Him too weak... Now him not here. Sound normal to Cleftor."
Master Crash pointed out, "You are in BOMB denial, Cleftor. I saw you weeping in that locker, BOMB-BOMB!"
That's when Jolene came in with a bat like creature.
Jolene instructed, "Right this way, Sir Swoop. This is your dressing room. You're starting in the minor league, of course, as you've just now started your career. If you don't like this dingy room, I suggest you work your way up through the ranks." She went over to the terminal, "When you are ready to fight, you just long on to this computer terminal here. Mr. Grubba will then decide who you'll match up against. You have no say in this. Why don't you try it at least once?"
As she was explaining things to the new fighter, the heroes were chatting quietly about the bat.
Flurrie whispered, "They sure did get a new fighter fast."
Violet whispered, "Especially right after King K's retirement."
Koops whispered, "You think he knows about the Crystal Star on Rawk Hawk's belt...?"
Luigi whispered, "I doubt it but we shouldn't take any chances."
Goombella whispered, "He's got a point."
Mario whispered, "Let's keep our eyes peeled."
