U.A. GROUNDS-CITY SIMULATION AREA: A
"Good head start." Izuku glanced back to see the crowd growing farther away. "But they'll catch up eventually." He noted Ida running ahead of the group before looking ahead. "It'll be a mess competing for points in a large group." He caught sight of various robots in the distance. "If that's the case…" His sparks intensified. "I'll have to find my group of bots to wreck!" He dashed ahead.
As he closed to the intersection, the bots took notice of him as their eyes flashed red. {"Attack!"} The 1-Pointer bots in the group charged with their mobility as the bigger ones steadily followed.
Izuku grinned at the sight and began dodging the punches from the 1-Pointers while passing them. "Sorry boys!" He hopped over a 2-Pointer's metal tail attack. "But I'm not interested in playing with any of you!" He rolled on the ground and got up.
A shadow loomed over him, looking back he saw a large 3-Pointer glaring at him with its foot raised. {"Terminate!"} It brought its foot down with a digital roar.
But Izuku had already jumped away with a laugh. "I know you're all eager, but I'm not the one you should be worrying about!" He jumped again to gain distance from the group. "They should be here soon, so I'll leave you guys to it." He added before bolting to another area as they were about to pursue. "With their attention on me, it'll give the others a chance to get the drop on them."
The robots watched him go before a 1-Pointer noticed the group of examinees running at them. {"Incoming targets!"} Its call caused the others to turn around and focus on the group as well. {"Attack!"} The 1-Pointer led the charge.
When they got close, the first teen they encountered was Ida who leaped towards them and kicked the lead robot's head off.
As the fight began, Izuku grinned at his plan's success before his teeth sharpened when he caught sight of another large group of robots ahead. "Finally." He sparked with 5% OFA before jumping. "Time for some action!"
A 2-Pointer had enough time to look up before being punched in the face. Izuku landed on his feet and grinned at it. "Still up?"
The bot shakily turned its head to him, its face dented and one eye hanging out of its socket with sparks. {"D-Destroy!"} It raised its metal tail and lunged at the teen.
But Izuku was quicker and dodged the appendage, causing it to be stuck in the ground before following up with a devastating punch between one of its joints, breaking the metal limb in half. "Nice try!" He jumped away as the bot tried to kick him with a digital roar.
Once he got his footing, he shifted his gaze from left to right as five 1-Pointer bots charged at him. When one got close behind him with its fist raised, Izuku quickly delivered a powerful elbow.
As the bot flew back with a crushed chest, Izuku dodged a punch from another 1-Pointer and grabbed its arm before delivering a quick jab on the side of the bot's torso, heavily denting it.
He then shifted position before throwing the now sparking bot at another one attacking, causing both to be destroyed on impact. "That's three." He muttered before instinctively dodging another punch and doing a quick leg sweep, tripping the 1-Pointer on its back before following up with a powered-up punch, crushing the head and denting the ground. "Now four."
Izuku got up and stared at the remaining 1-Pointer as it charged at him. The move caused him to form a sharp grin as he ran with a trail of sparks.
When they got close, he lowered himself and executed a wrestling spear tackle, damaging the robot's torso as he raised and slammed it on the ground, cracking the surface. "Five." He panted and got up as he looked down at the sparking bot before it went limp. "Always wanted to do that." He snickered and dusted himself off while deactivating OFA.
A commotion was heard behind him, looking back he saw the same damaged 2-Pointer only this time it brought back up in the form of a couple of 3-Pointers and 2-Pointers. {"DESTROY!"} They exclaimed in sync as they marched towards him.
The sight made him chuckle with excitement. "Bringing the big toys out now huh?" Naturally, he got no response as they continued marching towards him. "Well, in that case." His eyes and teeth sharpened as he charged 5% OFA. "I better do the same!" In a flash, he transformed into a large Kaiju with a spiked mace with a hook claw on top of his right hand while the left hand was a large axe. He also sported a sword on his head and a large nostril.
This form is called: Baraba. A powerful transformation once wielded by Hora Midoriya, a heroine who fought for peace for a year before retiring due to a career-ending injury caused by an ambush during a rescue mission. An injury that led to health complications that ended her life.
And while the circumstances of the attack were a mystery due to it happening fast according to her. Her time as a hero gave Izuku plenty of material for him to access and use the transformation.
As for the transformation itself, while not the fastest, sported great defense and plenty of offensive capabilities.
The sudden appearance of the beast caused the bots to halt their advance. "What's wrong?" Izuku chuckled and slammed his tail on the ground. "Don't get cold feet now." He got into his stance. "We're just getting started!"
[Ultraman FE3 OST - "Ultraman Ace Fighting Theme" - Plays]
With sparks emanating, he aimed his mace forward. "Terrible chain!" His hook shot forward with a chain attached at high speeds and stabbed the head of the damaged 2-Pointer, causing it to spark violently. He then pulled his arm back, tearing the head off as the hook claw returned.
As the headless bot spasmed before going offline, the other robots smacked it out of their path as they charged at Izuku who regained his hook before throwing the head at a 3-Pointer. The latter staggered back from the strong impact to the shoulder before aiming with its mounted weapons.
The teen's eyes glowed as he saw this. "Death Missiles!" He roared as four explosives shot out of his nostril and flew towards the bot like missiles.
The 3-Pointer was blasted with explosives before it could even fire, losing both its weapons and its head before it fell to the ground in a pile of scrap.
Izuku then turned his attention to a charging 2-Pointer and jumped towards it. After landing next to it with a loud thump, the bot attacked with its tail.
But the Kaiju user smacked the tail away with his axe hand and repeatedly smashed his mace on the bot's body. Heavily denting it and tearing a hole that scattered chunks of metal with each hit.
The 2-Pointer let out a digital roar from the damage while its legs threatened to buckle under the intense onslaught. It then aimed with its tail before going offline when Izuku's grappling hook pierced its chin and its head.
After retrieving his hook, Izuku turned away from the sparking robot as it collapsed and exploded behind him to face two other 3-Pointers who fired their weapons, revealing them to be capture nets.
The teen took a deep breath before unleashing a large flamethrower blast from his nostril which immediately incinerated the nets before they could get close. "You'll have to do better than that if you want to take me down!" He puffed smoke out of his nostril and mouth with a growl.
In response, the bots simply fired another round of nets that Izuku burned again before he fired multiple missiles again from his nostril. "Enough!" He roared.
The attack did its job as the robots were overwhelmed by the barrage and exploded from the damage before their remains fell to the ground.
Izuku grinned before a shadow loomed over him, looking up he saw a 2-Pointer dropping towards him, having jumped off somewhere to ambush him.
Instead of moving, he stayed in place and raised his hands, catching the robot and damaging the underside due to the sharp points of his hands before slamming it on the ground on its left side, breaking the legs on that side as well.
The damaged bot was just able to shakily turn its head before it was crushed by Izuku's foot. The teen let out a roar and moved forward, just as he heard something splat on the ground near him.
Looking down he saw a sticky foam-like substance. "Huh?" He looked up in the direction of mechanical noises and saw three 3-Pointers, one of them had a smoking barrel. "Looks like it isn't all nets." He mused before they aimed. "Better deal with them quickly." He sparked as he fired explosive shots again while the robots returned fire.
Both attacks passed each other with some exploding from clashing. Izuku's barrage managed to destroy two robots while critically damaging one. The teen on the other hand managed to dodge a few projectiles and instinctively smacked one with his axe hand, realizing too late what he had done.
"Shit!" He grimaced at the sticky lump on his weapon. "This'll be a problem to fight with." He thought about scraping it off on one of the destroyed robots but quickly decided against it, guessing that he'd end up with a robot stuck in his hand if he did.
Izuku looked around for an alternative solution before his attention was shifted to the critically damaged 3-Pointer that was aiming with its remaining weapon. "Not a chance!" He quickly fired his grappling hook.
The hook scored a direct hit to the head, causing it to spark violently and spasm before firing its weapon to the side, hitting a 2-Pointer that was leading three 1-Pointers against the young hero, trapping it in foam.
"Nice." Izuku chuckled and recalled his chain with a head attached to it. But rather than fully returning the hook, he decided to use the dismembered head as a makeshift flail to attack the 1-Pointers. "Take this!"
Two robots that were ahead were no match for the maneuver as one robot's arm snapped with its torso caving in before flying off to the side from the impact. Another was hit twice before its head was smacked off, which also broke the dismembered head.
Izuku quickly recalled the hook before firing it again, this time to wrap around the remaining 1-Pointer's midsection. "Come here!" He pulled his arm back, rapidly bringing the trapped machine towards him.
As it got close, he prepared his axe hand, making sure to avoid the foamed part. His eyes narrowed in focus as he readied his blade before roaring when the robot was close enough. "You're mine!" As the machine passed him, he swung his blade, decapitating it while releasing his hold on it.
He then watched as the headless bot crashed on the road and rolled, scattering metal before coming to a rough stop. "Now to take care of this thing." He stared at the foam on his blade before taking a breath and using his flamethrower on it. "Good thing this form has resistance to fire."
After a moment he stopped, revealing that the substance had hardened considerably and was charred. "Perfect." He grinned.
{"ATTACK!"}
He looked up and saw five more 1-Pointers charging at him. "These guys don't give up." He growled as he got into his stance and fired a barrage of missiles.
Three were immediately blown apart by the attack, causing a large black smoke that made it hard to see but the other missiles were heard exploding behind it. Despite this, a 1-Pointer came running through the smoke, having avoided the attack.
Izuku growled and aimed his hook forward before he heard a noise behind him. Without delay he swung his mace behind him, delivering a devastating backhand that tore apart a 1-Pointer's chest. The latter had managed to slip away from its group to try to ambush him.
The teen then delivered a heavy kick to the twitching robot and watched it spark on the ground before turning around. Just in time for the 1-Pointer earlier to deliver a swift punch that managed to turn Izuku's head slightly.
The bot was about to follow up with another attack before its neck was suddenly grabbed by Izuku's tail from behind. The latter calmly looked back at the robot with an intense look while tightening his tail's grip and raising his axe hand, making sure to aim the part with the burnt foam. "My turn." He snarled with smoke coming out of his mouth and nostril.
At this, the robot's eye can be seen dilating. {"Uh oh."} It exclaimed before being punched in the chest hard enough to destroy the foam and pop its eye out of its socket before being sent flying towards the trapped 2-Pointer from earlier.
The trapped machine had time to look up before being destroyed along with the 1-Pointer from the impact, scattering pieces everywhere.
Izuku grunted and then eyed the carnage he had caused before noticing that more robots were marching toward his position from multiple directions, including the one where he came from. "Looks like I've caused quite the stir." He chuckled as his eyes glowed while waiting for his prey. "Good, because I've got a few tricks left to use."
His lack of action didn't deter the machines as they continued marching without care. And when one 3-Pointer crushed a destroyed 1-Pointer to aim at him, Izuku used the moment to act.
With his sword glinting in the light, he leaned his head back. "Terrible Sword!" He roared as he leaned forward and launched the sword on his head, which was attached to a green beam, towards the 3-Pointer.
The machine didn't have a chance to react before its face caved in from being stabbed by the large sword. The surrounding robots saw this and calculated that this would be the perfect chance to attack. This led to the 1-Pointers and 2-Pointers charging while the 3-Pointers aimed.
But this is exactly what Izuku wanted to happen as he formed a dangerous smile. "I'm not done yet!" With a twist of his head, the blade tore through the robot before he began swinging the blade around, turning himself into a bladed flail. "Revolving Slicer!"
Several robots were decapitated or sliced apart from the swinging blade. Those that survived and continued the charge regardless of damage, were blown away by Izuku's flamethrower and sliced again. The ones with range were dealt with via a barrage of missiles that he fired as he swung.
[Song Ends]
After a few more swings, Izuku was beginning to feel dizzy so he had to recall the blade. "Ugh…" He took a step back with a wobble. "I hate it when this happens." He stopped himself from throwing up before shaking his head to clear the daze. "There has to be a better way to do that." He groaned before looking at the aftermath of his attack. "But I can't argue with the result." He sighed as he got on one knee.
The scene was carnage, countless pieces of metal were all over the place including the bodies of robots that were crushed, stabbed, sliced, decapitated, burned, or blown up.
Sadly, some property had been damaged from the fight but with how intense villain fights can be, Izuku doubts that he'd be able to avoid causing that most of the time. The best he can do is ensure that no innocent lives are caught in the middle of the fight.
His musings were cut short when he heard the distinct sounds of heavy marching. "Looks like the fight was heard from far away." He huffed and got up as he regained his bearings. "As expected." He wouldn't be surprised if the other examinees heard the fight too.
As he caught sight of a group of 2-Pointers marching at him, he cracked his neck. "All right." His eyes glowed along with the sparks of OFA. "Who's next?" He roared in defiance as the robots charged at him.
MEANWHILE-IN THE OBSERVATION ROOM
The teachers were closely watching the monitors, making sure to keep an eye out for not just the skill, but the qualities that made someone a hero.
Present Mic whistled when he saw Bakugou blow up a 3-Pointer after expertly dodging it. "There's a lot of potential in this batch."
"More like troublesome if you ask me." Eraserhead cut in with a grunt as he caught sight of Bakugou's bloodthirsty grin.
From her seat, Midnight huffed. "Always negative." She ignored his grumbling and pressed a few buttons. "You should focus on what they can do for the world instead of how much of a pain they'll be to teach." She pressed enter to share on the main screen who she had been watching.
Which was revealed to be Toga who was using a beetle-like Kaiju named: Antlar. A form once wielded by Hatanaka Midoriya, a hero who mainly used the transformation for rescue missions.
While the transformation offered great offensive capabilities and defense, Hatanaka was a man who preferred to save lives rather than engage in combat.
Unfortunately, despite his noble choice, he was found dead, just before he had a full year in the line of duty, during a critical rescue mission where a village had experienced a massive earthquake.
The spot they found the fallen hero showed clear signs of a fight but with how unstable and isolated the place was, they were never able to find out who did it.
But despite the tragic circumstances, there's just enough material available for Izuku to access and gain an understanding of what the transformation can do before sharing it with Toga to train with as well.
"She's right Aizawa." Ectoplasm chimed in as he watched Toga face a group of 1-Pointers. "You won't make a good impression on your students if you treat them like a nuisance." He calmly pointed out as the blonde on-screen used the transformation's magnetic ray to lift the 1-Pointers in the air before flinging them at a group of 3-Pointers before they could fire.
To this, Aizawa grunted. "I'm not going to train kids who think they're powerful and entitled enough just because they have a flashy quirk." After recalling his detailed report of the last batch he expelled, none argued with his point. "The people need heroes, not big-headed nuisances."
"True." Present Mic nodded but sighed. "But still, you need to lighten up a bit, it's not healthy." He ignored the look he was receiving. "How's Midoriya?" He asked, hoping to redirect the topic.
From his spot, Snipe snorted. "Peachy." He typed in a few commands and shared his screen. "The kid's been crushing opposition the moment he started." The screen showed Baraba stomping on a defeated 3-Pointer's head before firing yellow lightning beams from his eyes on a group of 2-Pointers.
Present Mic whistled. "Damn, I heard he was strong but…" He shook his head in amazement. "At this rate, he'll match your record Toshinori."
"And I'll be proud of him when he does." Toshinori in his real form grinned at the thought. "Young Midoriya has taken great strides to improve himself." He formed a proud look. "Never in my life have I seen someone so hardworking." His pride grew as he watched his successor incinerate capture nets.
Nezu chortled in agreement. "It's always wonderful to see the fruits of your labor." He typed in a few commands and showed Izuku, Toga, and Bakugou on the screen. "I have no doubt they'll become inspirations for their classmates, as well as top heroes in the future."
"High praise coming from you Nezu." Midnight smiled before frowning as she stared at the screen. "Have there been any leads?" At her question, all eyes turned to the principal with serious looks.
The smile left Nezu as he shook his head. "Nothing concrete." He sighed and wore a grim look. "So far, the only thing we've been able to learn is that all the killings were generally similar. The victims were always isolated or were in a compromising position that made it easier for the killer to deliver a mortal or crippling blow." He grabbed his teacup. "But other than that, nothing that helped us identify who did it or what they even look like."
"Scum." Ectoplasm spat before staring at the screen with a somber look. "So much death, and yet, he still chose to be a hero." He felt his respect for the teen grow. "It truly speaks volumes of his character." In the background, Aizawa placed a hand on Midnight's shoulder when she looked heartbroken by the information.
Toshinori hummed, despite the frustration on his face from what he heard. "His drive and compassion are what defines him." His expression steeled. "Which makes it all the more important for us to do what we can to ensure his growth, as not to repeat history." All around him, the teachers voiced their agreement.
Present Mic nodded before his eyes shifted to his screen, making him frown. "Speaking of growth." He typed on his keyboard and shared his screen, showing two frightened teens cornered by 2-Pointers. "Looks like we've got a couple that could use more time before committing to the path of a hero." As the robots neared, he reached out to his keyboard. "I'll just order the bots to tell them to leave before they get hurt." With how dangerous the entrance exam could be, protocols like this were included to avoid seriously injuring or traumatizing the examinees.
Multiple cameras would automatically lock onto potential individuals who can't handle the intensity of the exam or are in danger. The teachers would be tasked with ordering the robots to inform the examinee that they had been disqualified and would be escorted to the exit using a path that would ensure that no other examinees would see them to avoid unwanted humiliation.
Just before Present Mic could enter the command, Nezu caught something on one of the screens and smiled as he raised a hand. "Hold that for now." The teachers, apart from Toshinori who was smiling upon seeing the same thing, were shocked by the order. "Let's observe the scene first." None disobeyed as they watched the screen in interest.
U.A. GROUNDS-CITY SIMULATION AREA: A
"We're surrounded!" A girl with a nosebleed, glasses, and a ponytail yelled as she leaned against a wall of a building.
In front of her, a boy with blue hair grimaced upon hearing this. "Damn!" He looked at the robots before eyeing the environment. "How much longer until you can use your quirk again?"
After wiping her bloody nose, she responded. "T-Two minutes!" She then paled when a nearby 2-Pointer raised its tail. "I-I'm scared big brother!" She whimpered.
"It'll be fine!" The boy assured as he picked up a piece of debris and reformed it into a concrete sword. "I'll protect you!" He got into a stance as the robots took a step forward and-
"Snake Hell Thunder!"
The boy's eyes widened as he looked to the right to see a yellow lightning beam heading towards them. "Look out!" He dropped his weapon and went to shield his sister who screamed as the robots were immediately destroyed from the intense attack.
Once everything grew quiet, the boy hesitantly looked back and was stunned at the sight of the destroyed robots that were smoking from the attack. "W-What?" He eyed the carnage in disbelief. "I couldn't even dent those things and yet they were blown up like they were nothing!"
His sister looked up, shocked by the scene before looking to the right and paled. "L-Look!" He followed her gaze and paled as well.
Izuku stood tall in his Baraba form a few feet away, sparks emanating from his form as he glared at the destroyed robots before marching towards the two, his loud footsteps intimidating them.
The two remained silent as he surveyed the scene before his nose picked up the unmistakable scent of blood, causing him to snap towards the two in surprise. Making the girl tense while the boy braced himself. "Are you two alright?"
When they didn't respond and remained frozen, Izuku tilted his head in confusion before realization dawned on him. "Oh, sorry." In a flash, he was back to his base form. "Didn't mean to scare you." He rubbed his head with a sheepish grin.
Seeing his friendly face, the two relaxed enough for the girl to become ashamed while the boy looked embarrassed. "I-It's fine." He bowed his head with his sister following. "We didn't mean to come off as rude and ungrateful." Both looked up with guilty looks. "It was a horrible position we were in so we're still freaked out."
"It's fine." Izuku waved a hand. "I know how scary I can be sometimes, even when I don't mean to be." He chuckled before becoming concerned as he approached them. "Is she ok?" He eyed the blood smear below her nose.
With the attention on her, the girl nodded before wincing and placing a hand on her head. "Just dizzy and the nosebleed happens when I use my quirk too much." She placed a hand on her mouth with a groan. "I think I'm going to barf."
"Hang in there Ota." Her brother rubbed her back to help soothe her. "There aren't any robots nearby so you'll have time to recover before we start moving to the exit." Izuku looked around and made sure that the area was indeed safe.
As her dizziness died down, Ota gave her brother a guilty look. "I'm sorry for being a burden Nakata." She looked down as her eyes glistened with tears. "Because of me, you won't be able to enter U.A." She sniffed.
"I don't care about that." Nakata sternly cut in before giving her a soft smile. "It wouldn't be worth going to U.A. without you." He gently pulled her in for a hug. "We can always train again and even if this path isn't meant for us, there are other ways to help people." His words warmed her, allowing her to form a tearful smile as she returned the embrace.
"He's right." Izuku chimed in, gaining their attention. "Being a hero doesn't necessarily mean you have to fight someone. Saving or improving lives are plenty heroic on their own." He gave them an encouraging smile. "I don't know what your quirks are, but I'm certain you'll find ways to use them for good."
The two were stunned by his encouraging words before smiling at him. "Thank you, that means a lot." Ota said with a soft and grateful smile while her brother voiced the same thoughts.
"You're welcome." Izuku grinned. "Just practice and I'm sure you'll get the hang of it in no time." The two nodded to him as he frowned. "Can both of you make it on your own?" He glanced in the direction of the starting line with a hum. "If not, I can be your escort since it's a bit far."
"We'll be fine, you've already done so much for us." Nakata spoke as he helped his sister up. "The path should be clear and even if it isn't, we can always use another route to the exit."
Ota nodded in agreement. "Yeah, and I'll be able to use my quirk again so we'll have protection on the way there." She pointed out, already looking better than she did earlier.
"Alright, if you say so." Izuku nodded before his eyes landed on something. "Hang on." The two watched him curiously as he went to pick something up from the ground. "I saw a concrete sword on the ground, so I'm guessing one of you can make use of this." He offered two pieces of metal from the fallen robots.
Nakata nodded and stepped forward. "That would be me." He graciously accepted the two materials. "My quirk lets me mold any material into almost any item." He demonstrated by reforming one piece of metal into a sword while the other was turned into a hammer. "Sadly, I haven't been able to make more complex items like guns and stuff."
Izuku whistled. "That's an awesome quirk, once you master it, you'll have a pretty versatile ability in your hands." The teen beamed from the praise as the Kaiju user turned to Ota. "What about you?"
The girl looked around before aiming her hand at a piece of metal on the ground. "My quirk lets me move stuff with my mind." She moved the item until it was hovering above her palm. "Small objects aren't a problem but if I overuse my quirk, especially if it's on heavier objects, I'll get a big headache and a bleeding nose." She discarded the item with an embarrassed smile.
"That's so cool!" Izuku's praise caused the girl to blush. "With enough training, you could save people who are trapped or maybe even stop objects before they could hit you." The girl blinked, she hadn't considered those scenarios and made a mental note to practice it with her brother. "But anyway, you better get going before-" He stopped before glaring to his right. "We've got company!" He got into his stance as he charged 5% OFA while the sounds of heavy footsteps became more audible to the two.
Ota grew nervous while Nakata tensed. "Are you sure you don't need any help?" He reformed the hammer into a shield.
Izuku gave them a reassuring grin. "I'll be fine." He faced the approaching threats as he shifted into Antlar, surprising the two. "Now go!"
The siblings hesitated before agreeing. "Alright." Nakata nodded and looked at Ota. "Let's go while we still have an opening." He readied his weapons and led the way.
"R-Right!" Ota nodded before giving Izuku a grateful look. "Thank you and good luck!" She called out before following her brother.
Izuku nodded and readied himself as a group of 3-Pointers and 1-Pointers arrived. "I won't let any of you pass!" His large pincers glowed as the 1-Pointers charged ahead of their ranged units. "Magnetic Ray!" An energy beam shot out of his pincers and covered the 1-Pointers in a blue glow before he raised his pincers, lifting them off the ground while the 3-Pointers aimed.
Seeing this, the glow of Izuku's pincers intensified. "Magnetized…" In a blur, the 1-Pointers smashed together into a clump of metal. "Sphere!" He roared as he shot the large projectile towards the 3-Pointers who could do nothing but be destroyed due to their slow build.
After the attack, the glow on Izuku's pincers dispersed as he surveyed the area. When he didn't find any survivors, he let out a triumphant roar before burrowing to find more prey elsewhere, oblivious to a nearby camera that had witnessed the whole thing.
IN THE OBSERVATION ROOM
"Impressive." Cementoss commented with a look of approval while everyone else voiced their agreement. "He's everything you and Nezu have described him to be."
Eraserhead stared at the screen with a look of approval. "A humble powerhouse, I could work with that." He nodded and looked at the other screens showing Toga and Bakugou.
Present Mic wore a big smile. "If the other students are going to be like these three, teaching them is gonna be a blast!" He exclaimed in excitement and typed something on his computer. "I'll send an ignore command to all robots for Nakata and Ota to make it easier for them to reach the exit."
"He's so cute!" Midnight cooed with her hands together. She always had a soft spot for gentle giants in any media. "I could just give him a big hug!" Her statement earned a grunt from Eraserhead, making her smirk at him. "Don't worry Sho, I can give you one later~." She said in a singsong voice that earned an annoyed look from him, that held no heat.
"Just don't let Young Toga see you hug him." Toshinori winced from the mental image but felt proud of the praises his successor was getting and his interaction with the two examinees. "Well done young Midoriya." He smiled at the screen.
Nezu smiled, impressed by what he'd seen. "Don't get comfortable yet." He reached for a big red button and pressed it. "The final phase starts now." He leaned back in his seat as everyone else watched the screen in anticipation.
U.A. GROUNDS-CITY SIMULATION AREA: A
Heavy footsteps echoed throughout the area as a lone 3-Pointer marched down a road, vigilantly searching for any potential targets with its weapons ready.
Only to stop when it felt the area shake, causing it to look around in alert. It tapped into its built-in radar that was connected to the cameras around the area. When it got nothing, it focused on its visual sensors.
When the shaking stopped, it waited for a moment before assuming that there was never a threat and prepared to resume its patrol route
Only for two large pincers to burst from the ground and grab its neck. It let out a digital roar as it began struggling to free itself, only for it to do more harm as the damage grew with each movement.
It let out one more roar as its head was cut off before its body limply fell to the ground. And not a moment later, Izuku emerged from the ground. "I love doing that." He shook off the dirt on his body before turning back to normal. "But I still need to learn how to make my presence less noticeable." His gaze shifted to the 3-Pointer's severed head as its eyes flickered before going offline.
He then looked around, noting the destroyed robots and damaged environment. "Hmmm, I guess the other examinees went through here." He took a step forward before freezing. "Wait." He paused to think before placing a hand on his forehead with a groan. "I forgot to keep track of my points!"
Izuku then sighed. "I'm sure they'll show me the total when they give me the results." He then noticed the sounds of fighting on the other side of a nearby building. "Guess I'll just-"
*RUMBLE*
Izuku wobbled as the area shook violently accompanied by the deafening sound of something being destroyed nearby. "W-What the!?" He steadied himself the best he could and looked around as the buildings shook. "What's going on!?"
[Ultraman FE3 OST - "Ultraman Gaia in Danger" - Plays]
Suddenly, a deep and overpowering roar echoed throughout the area. Causing him to freeze before turning in the direction of the sound to see other examinees running from a building-sized robot, known as the Zero Pointer. An obstacle that was built to be unstoppable and encouraged examinees to run from.
"Holy shit!" Izuku exclaimed before following the other examinees' lead and began running. "That thing's leveling the city!" Windows were shattering and panicked screams filled his ears. "Someone could get killed if-"
"Ahh! Help!"
Screeching to a halt, Izuku turned to the voice and gasped when he saw that it was Ochako with her feet pinned by some rubble. "OCHAKO!" In an instant he ran towards her, earlier fears gone.
Hearing the voice, she looked up and felt a bit of relief seeing him. "I can't reach to use my quirk!" She struggled to reach the debris pinning her.
The Zero Pointer took notice of her screams and looked down, causing Izuku to pale before steeling himself as he charged 5% OFA and shifted into Antlar. "Hang on!" His pincers glowed as he steadied his aim.
Ochako's shock from his sudden transformation grew when a blue glow covered the debris pinning her and was removed before the same happened to her. "Eh!?" She exclaimed as she was lifted off the ground and pulled towards him.
Once she got close, he gently lowered her to the ground and aimed his pincers at the robot's face before firing an energy beam. "Can you walk?" The robot roared as the beam hit its face before it raised a hand to protect itself. "Damn, missed the eye!"
Ochako gaped at the display before shaking off her stupor and attempted to stand, only to wince. "It hurts!" She rubbed her ankles.
"Can't be helped then!" After firing another laser blast at the giant, Izuku quickly scooped up the girl into his arms in a bridal carry, drawing a surprised yelp from her. "Hang on!" He opened up his retractable insect wings, making Ochako understand the implications before doing as instructed. "Here we go!" He quickly flew down the street with a trail of sparks.
The Zero Pointer watched them go before letting out an angered roar. {"TERMINATE!"} It began following them, creating craters with each step and shaking buildings as it moved.
Ochako looked behind him and paled. "I-It's following us!"
Izuku made a sound of annoyance. "It's not just us!" She looked at him in confusion. "It's just doing that to find more students!" She grew alarmed as he began to think. "By now there isn't much time before the test ends, but who knows who'll get hurt before the time runs out." He looked ahead, noticing that they were catching up to a group of fleeing students. "This can't continue!"
As they reached the group, he caught sight of a familiar face. "Ida!"
The tall teen skidded to a stop at the familiar voice and looked to the source, only to step back in shock at the sight of the beetle Kaiju flying towards him with Ochako in his arms. "M-Midoriya?" He nervously called out as he landed in front of him. "Is that you?"
"The one and only." Izuku quipped and shifted back to his normal form with Ochako still in his arms. "Ochako was trapped in front of the Zero Pointer, luckily I heard her call for help and was able to save her." He glared at the giant robot as Ida approached to check on her. "I managed to do a bit of damage to its face, but it isn't stopping."
After making sure Ochako was truly fine, Ida turned to Izuku in worry. "What do we do then?"
[Song Ends]
Izuku was silent as he stared at the robot then glanced at them then the fleeing examinees. After a few more moments of silence, he came to a decision. "Is your quirk speed related?" He received a nod and a gesture to his engine legs. "Ok, I'll need you to take her to a safe place and tell any examinees you see to run away." He explained while offering Ochako.
Ida nodded while carefully carrying their friend who was growing embarrassed from being passed around. "Understood." He made sure his grip was secure, making her blush. "What about you?"
At this, Izuku chuckled. "Simple." He stared up at the robot with a dangerous grin. "I'm taking that thing down!"
"WHAT!?" Ochako and Ida exclaimed in sync before the latter spoke in a panicked tone. "That's too risky of a plan!" He stared up at the robot with a grimace. "You can't possibly hope to destroy it on your own!"
"Maybe." Izuku conceded before looking at them. "But I can't just sit by and let that thing wreak havoc." He shook his head. "Not when there are lives in danger." Sparks began to emanate from his form as he charged 5% OFA. "It's dangerous but as long as its focus is on me, everyone will have a better chance of escaping unscathed." He then stared at the robot with sharpened eyes.
While Ochako yelped as the robot roared and punched a nearby building, Ida looked conflicted but eventually nodded. "I don't like it, but you're right." Izuku smiled at him. "Just be sure to leave when things get out of hand." He advised with a serious look.
"I know." Izuku nodded before shifting into a bird-like Kaiju with a horn on its head and a claw at the end of each wing, acting like hands.
This form is named: Bemstar. An avian transformation that was once wielded by Sano Midoriya. A heroine who used her transformation for both rescue and combat situations. As well as aerial scouting when ground efforts weren't enough.
She was one of few who were on duty for a long time in the form of three years, possibly due to her mobility and fortunate circumstances before her luck had run out.
They had discovered her remains months later after her sudden disappearance in a nearby forest.
As for the transformation itself, it boasted great flight speed and powerful offensive capabilities in exchange for a lighter defense. On the ground, it could also perform close-range combat thanks to its claws and physical strength.
But apart from its flight speed, what made this transformation unique was the gorge located on its abdomen. This allowed the wielder to absorb almost anything, thanks to a specialized enzyme that allowed the user to digest things faster that had been absorbed, providing energy. Which discouraged ranged and close-quarters fighting altogether.
As Ida and Ochako were awed by the transformation, Izuku glanced at them. "Go." Before they could respond, he shot up in the air.
Ida watched him go before nodding and moving away from the robot. "Will he be alright?" Ochako asked while watching their friend fly with a worried look.
"He will." Ida's answer made her look up at him. "Midoriya seems like an individual who does not do things unless he's certain." He then gave her a reassuring smile. "All we can do now is trust him."
Ochako stared at him in stunned silence before looking away to nod. "Y-Yeah." She placed a hand on her cheek with a blush, prompting a raised eyebrow from the tall teen but he brushed it off and focused on his task.
[Ultraman FE3 OST - "Ultraman Tiga Fighting Theme" - Plays]
Izuku flew up at increasing speed before stopping when he was at the same height as the robot's face and hovered to glare at it. "HEY!" He yelled as his horn glowed while he charged 5% OFA. "Why not pick on something that can fight back!?" He waved his horn before firing rapid laser blasts. "Star Blaster!"
The robot looked up in time to take a direct barrage of attacks to the face that managed to destroy one of its eyes, making it roar in anger. {"PRIORITY TARGET IDENTIFIED!"} It shielded its face until the barrage stopped before attempting to grab him.
But Izuku was quicker and simply flew higher and began circling the giant. "That's one way to get its attention." While keeping a steady pattern, he utilized Bemstar's vision to spot any other possible points to attack. "Hmmm, they didn't skim on the design." He grimaced. "It doesn't have speed and ranged attacks but it has great defense and power." He quickly dived low to encircle its legs to observe. "I'll need to keep looking."
Zero Pointer searched for him before looking down and locking its remaining eyes on him. {"TARGET LOCATED!"} It raised its right hand and brought it down.
Izuku glanced at the incoming fist and quickly did a barrel roll to maneuver between buildings as it slammed into the ground. "Too slow!" When he had a clearing between buildings, he fired laser blasts.
The giant merely endured the attacks as the damaged parts of his body emitted smoke. {"DAMAGE NEGLIGIBLE, CONTINUING ATTACK."} It lowered its gaze to search again while destroying more buildings.
"Negligible huh?" Izuku muttered while dodging larger rubbles. "How about this then?" His horn glowed again as he flew low to its feet. "Star Beam!" He roared and fired a steady laser beam at its feet before he flew up in a spiral maneuver around the giant robot, cutting deep and causing mini-explosions on the giant as he went. "You like that!?" He taunted as he ended his attack when he reached the top.
In response, the robot roared and tried to grab him again with its smoking arm. "Guess not." He dodged and fired rapid lasers on the arm as he flew up.
Once he got a good distance he flew towards the giant at great speed and fired rapid laser blasts at its face and torso as he dived low between its legs while absorbing debris on the ground for more energy.
As the giant let out an angered roar, he gained altitude, did a loop to face the giant's back, and did a swift strafing run. Damaging its back as he passed while the robot ignored the damage and tried to grab him in vain.
Izuku dashed ahead before doing a tight U-turn and charged at the robot again with his horn ready. But the Zero Pointer anticipated this and had already begun to reach where it calculated he would be flying.
Instead of flying away, Izuku narrowed his eyes and smirked at the challenge as he increased his speed. When the hand came close, he tightly hugged himself and did a spin, zipping between the robot's fingers as it roared.
The teen couldn't help but laugh a bit from the rush as he opened his wings when he got a better altitude and smiled down at the robot before his eyes widened when he noticed a major flaw in the machine's design while it tried to look at him before moving its entire body to see him. "Wait a minute…" He narrowed his eyes with a thoughtful look before flying to the robot again at great speed.
Once again, the robot tried to punch him but was only rewarded with more laser blasts to the face and fist as the teen passed. "I wonder if…" After doing another tight U-turn, rather than executing another strafing maneuver, he increased his speed towards the giant's back with his talons ready. "Hopefully I don't regret this!" He braced himself.
A loud bang was heard as Izuku slammed into the robot's back, below the nape, and between the shoulders, making a large dent and cracking the metal surface as he dug his claws into the machine.
The Zero Pointer roared and moved to grab Izuku who tensed when he saw the giant right hand raised, twisting to face the teen before reaching. The latter closed his eyes and covered himself when the hand got close and cast a large shadow over him.
*KA-CHUNK*
After flinching from the loud clunk sound, he slowly opened his eyes before widening them in joy when he saw that the robot wasn't able to reach him. "I knew it!" He looked at the other hand and saw that it couldn't reach him either. "They didn't make this thing flexible enough!" The robot groaned as Izuku charged 5% OFA and planted his wing claws on the robot. "Which means I'm free to do this!" He leaned back as his beak glowed before swiftly stabbing it repeatedly on the surface. "Enhanced Beak Jabs!"
The robot roared from the attacks and continued to try and reach him in vain. "If I keep doing this." He increased his attack speed for a bit before pulling back with his horn glowing. "I'll be bound to hit something important! Star Beam!" He aimed his horn down and fired a powerful steady beam at the hole he had made from his beak attack.
Zero Pointer roared as its internal sensors informed it of how deep the beam was going. {"SYSTEMS IN DANGER!"} It glanced to its left and began to turn its massive body. {"COUNTER MEASURES INITIATED!"}
"Just a little more." Izuku muttered before he noted that the robot had lowered its arms. "Huh?" He stopped firing with a heavy breath to look around. "What's going on?" He panted to observe the scene before his eyes widened in alarm when he was faced towards a building. "He's going to squish me!" He roared in distress as he hastily removed his claws and talons before dropping.
As he fell, Izuku watched the Zero Pointer slam its back against the building, causing glass, debris, and metal to fall towards him. "Oh no!" He faced the incoming ground and hugged himself to make his frame smaller to increase his speed.
When the ground grew close, he charged 5% OFA and opened his wings. Narrowly missing the ground as he flew up while the debris behind him crashed.
Izuku glanced back at the fallen debris and let out a sigh of relief. "That was close." He adjusted his course and watched in shock as the building collapsed from the weight and impact of the robot.
And while he was glad that the buildings were empty and that the examinees had most likely fled from the area, Izuku was still angered. What if this had been the real thing? Someone could have been killed or seriously hurt from that.
With this, Izuku felt a surge of purpose as he dashed towards the giant that had just stopped itself from falling. "This ends now!" His horn glowed in intensity as he charged OFA. "Star Beam!" He fired with a roar.
Hearing the voice, the Zero pointer turned to the source, indirectly causing one of its functioning eyes to be destroyed by the laser.
But Izuku wasn't done yet, with the laser still firing he lifted his head, raising the laser and further damaging the robot's face and destroying more eyes. And just as it attempted to shield its face, the teen quickly moved the laser around, destroying the rest of its eyes. {"O-OPTICS D-DISABLED!"} Its head sparked and smoked from the damage.
With its vision gone, the OFA user panted as he shook off his fatigue before dashing ahead for the next step of his plan. "Star Blaster!" He circled the giant as he fired, drawing its ire as it blindly tried to attack him or block what he could.
After dodging another swing at him, Izuku made sure that the robot was lured into the middle between the destroyed buildings before flying straight into the air with a trail of green electricity.
Izuku remained steadfast as he neared the altitude he wanted before stopping to hover. "This should do it." He panted before narrowing his eyes at the robot that could be seen swinging his arms in the hopes of hitting the target that wasn't there anymore. "I'm pretty worn out so I'll have one shot at this." Using the transformation's vision, he was able to lock onto the hole on the giant's back from his attack earlier before looking at the surrounding area. "The buildings and roads are empty, so it's safe to finish the fight." He made a mental note to thank Ida and Ochako for their efforts.
He then began taking breaths to steady his breathing. He couldn't afford a miscalculation, if he missed, he'd be out of the fight and who knows what'll happen before the test ends.
When his heart steadied, he snapped his eyes open in focus before gazing at the giant robot below. "Here we go!" He dived in increasing speed and sparks as he charged a great amount of OFA. "This'll end it!" His horn began to glow with intensity as he began to spin. "SKY…" He aimed his horn as he spun faster and turned himself into a tornado. "DRILL!" He roared as he shot forward.
Those below who had been watching the fight could only watch with a bated breath as the teen appeared to be a drill-like comet as he rapidly descended while the robot remained oblivious as it continued to search for him.
Izuku increased the power and speed of his spin, producing a vapor cone as he went. When he neared the ground, he managed to adjust his course with a roar.
Upon hearing this, the Zero Pointer had just straightened its posture to face the source before Izuku made a full impact on its back. Tearing through the surface and ripping apart its insides as he traveled before eventually bursting out of the giant's chest with a victorious roar as he flew.
[Song Ends]
{"C-C-CRITIC-CAL D-D-DAMAGE!"} The robot let out a deep glitchy roar as it shakily looked down at a massive hole in its chest. {"CO-O-RE I-IN-T-TEGRITY C-COMPROMISED!"} The sparks on its body grew as it attempted to move itself. {"S-SYSTEM F-FAILURE IMMINE-!"} It froze as explosions began to erupt from its body as it gradually grew limp and began to fall on its back. Thick smoke and flames began to erupt from the hole in its chest as it fell.
Most of the examinees cheered at the sight while the others were simply too stunned by what they had seen. And amongst the crowd, Ida and Ochako chose to ignore the falling beast and kept their eyes on Izuku as his course gradually pointed to the ground. "Come on!" Ochako took the lead as the tall teen nodded and followed.
With Izuku, he had managed to slow his spinning but not by much. "Shit! I overdid it!" He roared as he tried to regain control but found it difficult due to momentum and fatigue. Even if he wasn't spinning as fast, it was still hard to tell where he was.
After another failed attempt to gain control of himself, he groaned. "Screw this!" He tightly hugged himself, closed his eyes, and braced for impact.
He let out a roar as he crashed into the road, digging a trench as he traveled before coming to a rough stop. Once he was sure that he wasn't moving anymore, he unwrapped himself and laid flat on his back with a groan as he turned back to normal.
Ida and Ochako ran up to the impact sight with horrified expressions, staggering when the Zero Pointer fell. "Midoriya!" The girl quickly knelt at his side as the tall teen did the same on his other side. "Are you all right!?" Both eyed the teen's disheveled form for any serious injuries.
Just before Ida prepared to move his friend, Izuku suddenly sat up with both hands covering his mouth, startling the duo. "M-Midoriya! What on earth-!?"
"M-Move!" The Kaiju user grunted out, causing Ida to become confused while Ochako's eyes widened in understanding as she gently told the tall teen to move as instructed.
After giving a weak thanks to her, Izuku moved to a nearby corner as fast as he could while Ochako watched him go with knowing sympathy while Ida still looked lost.
Ida was about to ask what was happening before retching was heard. At this, understanding dawned on the tall teen as he cringed and awkwardly looked away while Ochako winced and hoped for his quirk recovery.
Once finished, Izuku dragged himself away from the hazard zone with a hand on his head. "Ugh. Worst. Feeling. Ever." He groaned and turned his gaze to the fallen robot. "At least I took it down." He then looked at the two with a crooked and embarrassed smile. "Sorry, you had to see that."
"It's fine Midoriya." Ida said after recomposing himself. "Considering what you had just done, I find it surprising that you didn't regurgitate sooner." He admitted while Ochako remembered something and searched her pockets.
At that, Izuku snorted. "Fair." He stretched his muscles with a pop. "Truth be told, that was the third time I used that move, the other times were during my training days." He chuckled as he remembered getting stuck on the ceiling or losing control, forcing Toshinori to go into his buff form to stop him.
He was then pulled out of these thoughts when Ochako held out her palm to him with a mint candy on it. "Here, take this." The teen graciously accepted it and placed it in his mouth. "My quirk makes me dizzy when I overuse it." She looked away, embarrassed. "Sometimes it helps to have these ready if you know what I mean."
"I do." Izuku chortled and enjoyed the candy. "Thanks, by the way." He rubbed his head and eyed her leg with a frown. "How's the leg?"
To this, she raised it with a slight wince. "It's a little better now, but I think it'll bruise later." She then lowered it to give him a worried look. "But I'm more worried about you." Next to her, Ida shared the sentiment.
"I'm pretty tired to be truthful." He admitted with a tired grin. "But apart from that, I never got hit with anything serious." He thumped his chest. "Even my lighter transformations have a good defense." The two nodded, glad that he was ok. ''Back stings though.'' He kept himself from adding that last part, no need to make them worry more.
["Times up! The entrance trial is over!"] Present Mic's announcement was suddenly heard throughout the testing area.
Ida sighed in relief and turned to Ochako. "How many points did you earn?" He kindly asked. "I got 55."
"30." She replied in slight embarrassment before looking at Izuku. "How about you?"
At this, Izuku looked sheepish. "Can't remember." At the deadpanned looks he was getting, he shrugged helplessly. "Can you blame me? A lot was going on." He pointed out.
Ida shook his head with a smile while Ochako giggled. "Don't worry, I'm sure they'll give you the final result." He nodded in agreement.
"Make way." The trio looked to the source and saw Recovery Girl approaching them with some examinees behind her. "Are any of you hurt?"
At this, Ochako raised her hand. "My ankle got trapped earlier." She approached with a wince and limp.
The elder heroine gestured for the girl to show where it hurt, after a quick inspection she smiled at the teen. "It's nothing serious." The three were relieved to hear that. "Now put your leg down so I can treat you."
After doing as instructed, Ochako was about to ask how until she yelped when the heroine's lips stretched to kiss her cheek, much to the shock of everyone apart from Izuku who snickered. "E-Eh!?" She took a step back to hold her cheek in shock. "W-What was-!?"
A glow covered her entire form before dissipating. "Huh?" She looked at her ankle in surprise. "I'm healed!" She cheered before hunching over. "But now I'm tired." She yawned and unconsciously leaned against Ida who awkwardly supported her.
While the audience was in awe, Izuku spoke. "That's a normal side effect to her quirk." Everyone looked at him. "Injuries that would normally take long to heal can be fixed in seconds with her quirk." He raised a finger while everyone was amazed. "But the catch is, it relies on the stamina of the patient, leaving them tired. If the stamina isn't enough, it could kill the patient so they'll need to be healed the old-fashioned way for the time being before the quirk can be applied." Some paled at the drawback while others winced at it, but none were no less amazed by the ability.
Chiyo chortled fondly. "Always the fanboy." He blushed with a sheepish grin. "But it does save me time from explaining." She joked before approaching him, frowning at his disheveled form. "Are you hurt?"
"Nope, just tired." Izuku waved a hand and pointed to a corner with his thumb. "I was pretty dizzy earlier but I got better after throwing up over there." He casually admitted while holding back a wince from his movements.
While everyone else sweatdropped at his bluntness, Chiyo sighed. "While I adore your honesty, you need to work on limiting what you say." She gently said while gesturing for him to get close, to which he complied.
After receiving a kiss on the cheek, Izuku leaned back with a glow. "Sorry, but it's how my family does things." He shrugged and sighed in relief as his back healed.
"If you say so, just have more tact." Chiyo gently scolded, and when he nodded, she smiled and turned to Ida. "How about you?"
When he shook his head, she nodded and turned to the crowd. "If that's all then-" She stopped to look at Izuku. "Ah, I almost forgot. Ota and Nakata made it to the entrance safely." The OFA user beamed upon hearing this. "The girl needed medicine for her headache but other than that, she's fine. Her big brother came out unscathed but was tired from the whole thing." She turned to leave but not before smiling at him. "They said thanks again and that your fight was amazing." She added before going to the crowd to treat any injured.
"I'm glad to hear that!" Izuku called out before looking at his confused friends. "I'll tell you on the way." The two nodded and followed him to the exit along with the other examinees who weren't injured.
LATER-OUTSIDE THE U.A. GROUNDS
"Quite the experience." Ida said as he exited the building with Ochako and Izuku following. All wearing casual clothes with backpacks.
Ochako nodded and yawned. "Sure was." She then looked unsure. "I hope I passed the test at least."
Seeing this, Ida placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "U.A. surely monitored everyone's progress." She looked up to his encouraging smile. "You'll pass Ochako."
With a light blush, she looked away with a meek nod. "Thank you, Ida." The tall teen nodded while Izuku noted the exchange but didn't say anything.
"Izuku!"
The trio looked ahead to see Bakugou and Toga waiting at the entrance. "Took you long enough, nerd." The blond remarked while Toga skipped ahead to give him a hug that he reciprocated. "Who are the extras?"
While the two looked at him with blank looks, Izuku and Toga sweatdropped. "Bakugou, be nice." After separating from the hug, the OFA user took charge of the introductions. "This is Ida and Ochako, we met before the test started." He then gestured to the blonde. "This is Toga and the rude one is Bakugou, my friends since childhood."
While the explosive teen glared at Izuku who merely shrugged, Toga offered her hand to Ochako. "Nice to meet you! Any friend of Izuku is a friend of mine!"
Finding her energy infectious, Ochako shook her hand with equal vigor. "Same!"
As the girls bonded, Ida approached and offered a hand to Bakugou who stared at it before firmly shaking it with a huff. "Sorry for being a dick earlier." He made a valiant effort not to snap at Izuku for patting his back with a proud look.
"It's alright." The tall teen adjusted his glasses. "We all have our way of leaving an impression I suppose." He pointed out with a small smile while the blond grunted and released his hand.
Izuku snickered. "Some more than others." He brushed off the light elbow to his arm from the indignant blond. "How did your test go?"
At this, Bakugou chuckled with a vicious grin. "Those toys didn't stand a chance." His satisfaction slightly unnerved Ida and Ochako but Izuku and Toga found it amusing.
"The test went great!" Toga chirped with a fanged smile. "The robots were too slow to catch me and I even managed to use Antlar to destroy a whole bunch!" She said with a triumphant look.
Izuku looked impressed. "That's amazing Toga!" He pulled her in for a hug that made her blush. "I knew you could use the magnetic ray with enough practice."
"I-It was only because you helped me practice." She mumbled on his body and enjoyed the contact. "I wouldn't have gotten far without you and Bakugou believing in me."
Izuku frowned at that and ended the hug but didn't release her shoulders. "That's not true Toga." She found herself frozen as she stared at his earnest eyes. "Even without my help, you would have eventually figured it out on your own." He smiled. "Your accomplishments today are from your hard work, never forget that."
While her heart hammered in her chest, Toga managed to nod despite the warmth of his words. "I will." She smiled at him. "Thank you Izuku."
Satisfied, the OFA user nodded and released her. "No problem, Toga." He looked away as Toga appeared to have snapped out of a trance and blushed heavily when she saw Ochako giving her a teasing look. "We can talk more on the way, it's getting dark." The group nodded and followed him.
"Toga and I should have been there to help, we would have kicked that thing's metal ass faster." Bakugou looked annoyed from missing out before smirking at Izuku. "Even if it weren't the case, it would have been one hell of a show." That finisher sounded sick as fuck from how his friend described it.
Toga vehemently agreed. "Yeah! Even if the aftermath was kinda funny." She and Ochako giggled as Izuku groaned at the reminder. "But I'm glad you weren't hurt." She added in a sincere tone, earning a pat on the head, making her blush and lean into the touch.
While Bakugou rolled his eyes and Ochako resisted the urge to squeal, Ida spoke. "It was quite the scene." He adjusted his glasses. "It was as if an angel of heaven had struck down a foe." Izuku looked flattered by the description, Bakugou thought it was cheesy but kept it to himself while Toga thought it was accurate.
Ochako on the other hand was enamored. "Do you write Ida?"
The tall teen chuckled and shook his head. "No, but I do read literature from time to time." He gave her a friendly smile. "I could share a few stories with you if you want."
"T-That uh…" She cleared her throat and looked away. "I-I'm not a big reader, but I'll read with you." She made an effort to ignore Toga who was giving her a knowing look and focused on Ida who beamed from her response.
As they neared the point of separation, the group decided to exchange numbers to keep in touch. Izuku even took the liberty of adding Ida and Ochako to their group chat with Mei who would most likely be bombarding them with questions about their quirks and hero costume ideas to work on later.
As they were about to walk away, Ochako froze as something dawned on her. "Wait…" Her words earned her confused looks. "Now I remember." She pointed at the trio. "You three were from the sludge villain attack!"
Almost immediately, Bakugou groaned at the reminder while Toga nodded and Izuku looked surprised. "Didn't think people would still remember that day." Can you blame him? It feels like ages since that event was talked about in the media.
"I had a feeling I recognized you from somewhere but couldn't quite place it." Ida added with a look of amazement before smiling. "But regardless, what you three did that day was inspiring." He then frowned a bit. "Albeit reckless."
Izuku rubbed the back of his head with a sheepish smile. "Yeah, not my best planning, but it worked out in the end." Toga happily nodded in agreement.
"Speak for yourself!" Bakugou cut in with an annoyed look. "You're not the one that'll be remembered as the one who got trapped in sludge!" He growled as his palms crackled with mini explosions. "That slimy bastard is lucky he got the death penalty, otherwise I would have kicked his ass!" He ignored Ida admonishing him for improper quirk use and language.
At this, Izuku wrapped an arm around him. "True, but don't forget. You'll also be remembered as the one who escaped from his clutches and fought him with your friends." He pointed out with a knowing smile. "And if memory serves, you'll also be known as the kid to be able to save a woman from falling to her death despite nearly suffocating in sludge on the same day." He then wore a wry grin. "Besides, you're not the only one that got his butt kicked." He could still remember the strangling he got while Toga held his arm for comfort from the memory.
Bakugou thought about it before sighing with a nod. "Yeah." He returned the one-armed embrace with a smirk. "We were pretty kick-ass that day."
Izuku chuckled while Toga giggled in agreement. "We still are!" Her statement earned chuckles from the two while Ida and Ochako smiled at the moment.
*Rumble*
With a jolt, Ida and Ochako looked around in alarm. "What was that!?" Was there an explosion somewhere?
"Relax." They turned to see Bakugou smirking, Izuku blushing and Toga covering her mouth as she laughed. "The nerd gets hungry after fighting." The blond raised an eyebrow at his friend. "But for fucks sake man, it's like you've got a built-in earthquake in there." He'd heard him hungry before, but to feel it in such proximity was something else.
"I-I can't help it!" Izuku stammered as he released his friends with a fierce blush. "It takes energy to transform and fight." He kicked a stray stone on the ground. "And I like food." He mumbled.
While Toga screamed internally at how cute he was being, Bakugou snorted. "That's an understatement." He rolled his eyes. "I swear, you and your mom could bleed a restaurant dry." The teen's embarrassment grew while Ida and Ochako were taken aback by the claim.
Deciding that her crush was embarrassed enough, Toga decided to save him. "Don't worry Izuku." He turned to her, still mortified. "I'm sure our parents have a feast planned for our hard work today!" Her assurance earned another stomach grumble but he was happy to hear about food later.
With that, the group said their goodbyes and went their separate ways. All hoping that they would qualify and start their journeys as heroes.
TWO WEEKS LATER-MIDORIYA RESIDENCE-LIVING ROOM
A week went by in a flash for the three young heroes. Izuku and Bakugou were currently engaging in a fighting game while Toga scrolled through her phone.
They had kept in touch with Ida and Ochako, mostly talking about how excited they were to see the results and Mei discussing various suggestions to improve upon their costume designs.
By the third day of the week, Izuku tried to contact Toshinori and Nezu to ask when the results would arrive. But neither responded so he decided to leave them alone, surmising that they must be busy sorting things out.
In their spare time, they trained together or helped Izuku with his research on his family. If they had nothing else better to do, the three families would spend time together in the mall.
As Bakugou cursed when Izuku did a finishing move, Inko came in with a pitcher of juice and three plastic cups. "Juice is ready!" Toga shot up from the couch and helped her carry the pitcher. "Thank you."
"No problem!" She placed the pitcher on the table. "Hope you boys are thirsty!" She grinned while distributing the cups.
Izuku returned the grin as he accepted the cup and handed the other to Bakugou who had to put his saltiness aside for now. He poured her a drink before doing the same for Bakugou who grunted out his thanks. "Thanks for the juice mom." He poured one for himself.
The woman giggled as she sat on a nearby chair. "You're welcome sweetie." She then leaned back with a worried sigh. "Still, it's been two weeks since you three took the test. I hope there aren't any problems." She fretted.
"Relax Inko." Hisashi came in and sat next to her. "Remember, there were a ton of examinees taking the test." He pulled her into an embrace. "It's probably just taking time to send out the results to everyone."
Inko considered his point and cuddled him with a nod. "You're right." She let out a content sigh when he pulled her close.
"It'll be fine mom." Izuku assured before the sound of knocking was heard. "I'll get it." He got up as Toga gave him a pleading look. "You can take over, just go easy on him." He chuckled.
Toga cheered as she grabbed the controller while Bakugou scoffed. "I ain't losing this time." He grumbled as he selected a character.
A moment passed before Izuku returned with Bakugou and Toga's parents following. "Hey guys!" They looked to see him holding a box. "We've got mail from U.A.!"
In an instant, his friends abandoned their controllers as they eagerly walked up to him. "Are our results in there?" Toga eagerly asked.
Izuku nodded as he pointed at a piece of paper on the box with a U.A. stamp on it. "It has our names on it so it has to be."
"Well, what are we waiting for!?" Bakugou cut in as Toga and Inko cleared the living room table. "Open it up!"
Izuku nodded and sat on the couch with his friends on either side of him while the parents took their spots on the other chairs.
Upon opening it, they were confused to be greeted by a single medium circular device. Izuku took it out of the box and gently set it on the table. "Is that it?" Toga asked while Bakugou checked the box before setting it aside when he found nothing.
Izuku opened his mouth to reply before the device beeped and projected a holographic screen revealing it to be All Might. ["I AM HERE! AS A PROJECTION!"]
The teens gasped and paid attention while the parents did the same as the hero spoke. ["My apologies for the delay, as you can imagine there were countless potential heroes this year so we had to make recordings like this for each one!"] He bowed a little before standing tall. ["Thankfully there are cases like yours where more than one examinee lived nearby, making it more convenient to pack all the results into one device!"] He did his signature laugh while the teens were pumped to see their results together while Mana took charge and recorded the moment with her phone.
["From what Nezu told me, the three of you have been close friends since childhood."] Toga and Bakugou were shocked that the principal talked to All Might around while Izuku looked surprised to keep up appearances. ["Making it no surprise for the three of you to have passed the written portion of the exam with flying colors!"] The three cheered and exchanged fist bumps. ["Now for the combat portion, let's start with Katsuki Bakugou."] The blond sat up in attention.
["Because of your combat prowess, you were able to earn a respectable 69 Points!"] Bakugou cheered as Izuku patted him on the back with a grin while Toga gave her congratulations. ["Your training has bore fruit as Nezu said. Apart from combat efficiency, you made sure to control your explosions. Making sure not to cause unnecessary damage to the buildings while maximizing the damage on your opponents."] The man nodded in approval. ["I can see you becoming a great hero young man!"] The screen then showed the teen in combat, destroying robots with ease.
Masaru smiled while Mitsuki beamed with pride. "That's my boy!" Her words earned an embarrassed grumble from the blond but was warmed by her praise.
While he was happy for his friend, Izuku snickered upon realizing something. ''69 eh?'' He lightly poked his friend with an elbow. ''Nice.'' He exclaimed with a waggle of his eyebrows before laughing with his father joining, earning an embarrassed scolding from Inko and Toga respectively.
Bakugou rolled his eyes though his lip twitched upwards. ''Don't ruin it nerd!'' His yell wasn't as effective due to a little laughter slipping out, making Mitsuki snicker while the rest found the childish moment amusing.
["And now for Himiko Toga!"] The girl composed herself as the screen showed her in combat with and without her quirk, impressing her parents. ["Like with young Bakugou, your training has produced excellent results!"] The girl smiled big at the praise. ["With or without your quirk, you've proven to be an elusive and adaptable opponent to face!"] The screen showed her dodging capture nets with ease before throwing a small piece of debris that destroyed a 2-Pointer's eye. ["Through great skill, you have earned 68 Points!"] Another video was played, this time her using Antlar to fight.
Hideo and Mana were speechless as they watched the recordings. To think that this was the result of her getting proper training. If they hadn't taken the chance with Nezu, she wouldn't have grown as much as she did.
And to hear such praise from All Might further cemented that belief. Making them hug each other with proud smiles as they watched the video.
"Congrats Toga." Izuku gave her a sincere smile as he hugged her, causing her to flush a bit and mutter thanks as she returned the embrace while Bakugou smirked and patted her head. Meanwhile, her mother took a photo of the moment and sent a look to Inko and Mitsuki, promising to send them copies.
["And now for Izuku Midoriya."] The secret successor sat in attention. ["Like your companions, you've shown great skill and power. Proving yourself to be a formidable hero that could adapt to almost any scenario!"] As he said this, the screen showed Izuku wreaking havoc with and without his quirk.
Bakugou snorted as he watched the carnage with Baraba. "And you've called me ruthless." Based on what he's seeing, it was a massacre.
Izuku became embarrassed by that. "H-Hey! It's not like you're any better!" He lightly pushed him, earning an annoyed look. "You looked like a bloodthirsty psycho dismantling all those bots!" Upon seeing his face after saying that, the teen became sheepish while Toga remained entranced by the video. "Oops."
As chaos ensued, Inko and Hisashi watched the replays in astonishment. They had already witnessed their son do great in training, but to see his skills in live combat was a sight to behold.
Hisashi beamed from catching a clip of Izuku doing a few moves he taught him without his quirk while Inko felt her eyes grow misty at how much her baby had grown.
As she watched the recordings, she had to hold back a gasp as her tears grew when she caught sight of Bemstar, a transformation that she had a hard time using and couldn't help Izuku train with due to its different style compared to the more ground-based Kaiju.
For him to be able to learn its mechanics showed how dedicated he was to honoring the fallen in their family. After letting an audible sniff slip out, Hisashi noticed her state and smiled as he tightened his embrace while wiping her tears with his free hand, earning a thankful look from him.
"Amazing…" Toga's comment stopped Bakugou's anger and Izuku's apologies, making them look at the screen to see the teen performing the Sky Drill move.
They watched in silence before Bakugou broke it when his friend tore through the Zero Pointer from different angles. "Holy shit…" Izuku became bashful when others expressed their amazement or gaped at the scene. "It almost makes me forget about you vomiting afterward."
In an instant, Izuku snapped at him with an indignant look that didn't faze him. "Consider that payback for your earlier comment." Next to them, Toga giggled at their antics while Inko made a mental note to check on him later.
Their attention was then brought back to All Might as the replays ended. ["Through valor and skill, you have earned a solid 70 points!"] Bakugou looked like he had been slapped at the fact that he was in second place while Izuku allowed himself to be a little smug as Toga congratulated him.
Just before the blond was about to cause a scene, All Might continued. ["But there's more than that!"] His words caused them to pay attention. ["While taking down villains is something we note, it isn't the only thing we look for!"] He shook his head. ["What we truly search for is the essence of a true hero!"] He smiled as several screens appeared. ["And all three of you have demonstrated your compassion in the form of rescue points!"] The screens then showed their acts of kindness towards the examinees.
Bakugou leading a group of frightened examinees to fight together, Toga defending or covering for weakened teens. Finally, Izuku defending the siblings and saving Ochako from the Zero Pointer.
Izuku beamed at the screen and turned to his friend who looked away. "You're quite the leader I see." He said with sincerity while Toga smiled at him.
"Yeah well." The blond crossed his arms. "Somebody had to take charge and pull them out of the fire." He grumbled with an embarrassed look. "It would be a bad rep for U.A. if they had to deal with whiny parents." He gruffly added, earning a fond eye roll from his mother.
Toga and Izuku chuckled at his typical response. "You did good Bakugou." The explosive teen gave him a small smile before he turned to the blonde. "And so did you Toga." His words earned a sweet smile from her.
["Because of this, young Bakugou, you have earned a total of 149 Points, and for young Toga 148!"] The two teens cheered as their parents expressed how proud they were. ["As for young Midoriya, you have earned 150 Points, bringing you to the first place of the trial!"] Izuku's jaw dropped, Inko let out a happy gasp while Hisashi grinned.
Before they could fully process, All Might offered a hand to the screen. ["Congratulations! I look forward to teaching you as U.A.'s newest teacher!"] He exclaimed with pride before the video ended.
"F-First place." Izuku muttered after a moment of silence as he leaned back in his seat with a hand on his head. "I didn't even notice I did that much."
"Congratulations Izuku!" Toga cheered before hugging him, knocking him out of his stupor to return the embrace, still in disbelief.
Bakugou grunted but wasn't entirely upset. "Congrats." He then crossed his arms with a challenging look. "But don't get cocky just because you got first place!" Izuku returned the look and accepted his challenge.
Toga grumbled and pushed herself off the embrace. "Who cares about that!" She formed a big smile. "We passed!" She cheered with joyous laughter.
"Yeah." Izuku chuckled and hugged her with one arm while Bakugou with the other. "We did."
Bakugou returned the embrace for a moment before moving away with a huff. "Was there ever any doubt!?" His proclamation earned chuckles from the two. ''And with All Might as our teacher, we'll reach the top before we know it!'' His friends cheered at that.
Inko giggled as she approached to hug the three of them. "I'm so proud of all of you!" She kissed her son's head. "And if our other family were here, they'd say the same thing." She added with sincerity.
Warmth filled Izuku from her words as he patted her hands with a nod. "I know they are." He softly added.
The mother smiled and released them as Hisashi approached to hug her. "I think this calls for a celebration tonight!" He suggested with pride.
"Agreed!" Mana cheerfully cut in as she began to scroll through her phone. "There's this nice restaurant that had just opened up, I'll ask if we can order takeout." Inko and Mitsuki went to join her to check the details. While Hideo and the other husbands prepared the plates and all the utensils.
While this happened, Toga suggested that they share the news with Ida, Ochako, and Mei. Of which her friends agreed and went to do that in Izuku's room. The latter proclaimed how excited he was to eat the food from a new place, earning a fond giggle from the blonde while Bakugou rolled his eyes with a smirk.
ONE WEEK LATER-MIDORIYA RESIDENCE
Clad in his new uniform next to the front door, Izuku tied his shoes before standing to retrieve his bag. "Today's the day." He checked himself in front of a nearby mirror with a smile. "Most dreams can be a reality if you work and believe enough." He mused.
"All set?"
With a smile, he turned to face his parents. "Yep!" He posed with a sharp grin. "I'm ready for action!" He even did a front double bicep pose for emphasis.
Inko giggled while Hisashi chuckled and approached. "Not quite son." At the confused look, he reached out to the red tie that came with the uniform. "Your tie needs some work."
At this, Izuku wore a wry grin. "Sorry." He rubbed the back of his head. "I'm just so excited!"
Hisashi chortled and nodded in understanding. "I know the feeling." After making sure his son's uniform was tidy, he pointed a thumb to his chest. "I was the same way on my first date with your mom."
"Don't forget the other dates after that." Inko chimed in with a giggle, earning laughs from both as she stood next to her husband. "You look good Izuku." She softly added as Hisashi wrapped an arm around her.
Izuku smiled. "Thanks mom." He embraced them. "And you too dad." They returned the embrace with gusto.
Just then, the doorbell rang. "Come on nerd! I'm not going to be late on my first day of U.A. because you were too slow!" Bakugou yelled from the other side before Toga could be heard scolding him.
The family chuckled at the interruption as they separated. "That's my cue." Izuku separated and opened the front door, revealing Toga who waved while Bakugou looked mortified upon realizing he must have interrupted a family moment. "I'm off!"
"Good luck son!" Hisashi called out while Inko waved goodbye as the door closed. "Time flies." He shook his head with a proud look. "It feels like yesterday he was declaring his dream to be a hero." Arms wrapped around him as his wife hugged him from behind. "Don't fret Inko." He patted her hands. "We both knew he was bound to grow up eventually, it's a part of-"
"I'm in the mood."
In an instant, Hisashi reached forward and locked the door before turning to embrace her into his chest. "Inko…" He said in a soft voice. "Not that I mind, but what brought this on?" He gently rubbed her back.
Inko shivered and felt warmth go through her from his voice and gesture. "It's just..." She returned the embrace. "Ever since our son unlocked his quirk, you've been working hard to support him." She leaned back to look up at him. "And now that he's grown up, we'll have the house more to ourselves." She flushed heavily as she looked away with a hand on her cheek. "It also didn't help that I've watched you spar with him." The memory of him removing his sweaty shirt with an intense look made her bite her lip. "I-I'm sorry for being indecent-" She was gently guided into a kiss that she returned with equal passion.
When the need for air took over, the two leaned back with heavy breaths. "You're not being indecent Inko." He leaned his head against hers. "To tell you the truth, I've been feeling the same way."
His admission stunned her. "Y-You have?"
Hisashi nodded. "Yeah. Like you, I find your passion to support our son attractive." He held her close. "I can't help but be reminded of our younger days when I see you like that." He then formed a lewd grin. "And I'm not gonna lie, the thought of taking you somewhere private crossed my mind more than once after seeing you spar with our son." Just the image of her focused look in her Kaiju form or with her sports attire made him growl.
"H-Hisashi!" Inko stammered with a deep flush. "D-Don't just say stuff like that!" Although she'd be lying if she said hadn't thought along the same lines during his spars.
Her husband lightly chuckled. "Why can't I?" He kissed her, further melting her composure. "It's just us right now." His tone sent a pleasant shiver through her. "I love you." He formed an earnest smile. "And unless you do something that says otherwise, I'll never stop finding you attractive." He then shrugged. "Even then, it's not gonna stop me from loving you."
"Hisashi…" Inko whispered as she buried her face in his chest. "I love you too." She sniffed as she cried. "I'll never stop wanting you either."
Hisashi smiled and kissed the top of your head and rubbed her back to soothe her before frowning a little. "But Inko." He looked up at their empty apartment. "Even if the walls are thick, our neighbors could still hear something." He then wore a thoughtful look. "How about a hotel? I'm sure we can make time to-"
"Mitsuki and Masaru will be out on a date today." She gently cut him off. "Hideo and Mana are going out shopping but they'll most likely be back later." She leaned back to stare up at him in embarrassment. "And Izuku's classes will be until late in the afternoon so we'll have time."
Hisashi said nothing and stared at her agape, increasing her blush as she buried her face in his chest. "Close your mouth." She grumbled in mortification.
After a few moments, Hisashi's mind rebooted as he formed a sly grin. "Well now…" She looked up, her blush increasing from seeing his face. "If I had known how eager you were, I would have planned something sooner." He teased with a knowing look.
"I-It's not like that!" Inko stammered. "I-I just thought it would be a good opportunity." She looked away and he could practically feel the steam coming off her. "Who knows when we'll have another shot." She muttered with a pout.
But it was heard well enough as Hisashi chuckled. "When you put it like that." Before she could react, he scooped her up in a bridal carry, earning a surprised yelp from her. "We better not waste the chance." He declared as he began marching to their room.
Inko got redder. "R-Right!" She enjoyed her position before she remembered something. "Oh! Ummm…" He hummed, indicating that he was listening. "I-I'm on the pill." She whispered.
Her husband stopped for a moment to look at her with an eyebrow raised. "You went all out huh?" Rather than responding, she covered her face with a whine. "Good to know then." He resumed his pace. "By the way, is the bed still sturdy?" With all the countless times he'd laid on it, he hardly noticed anything. Thankfully his wife was more observant of such details.
At this, all embarrassment left as she uncovered her face to give him a confused glance. "Yes…?" She slowly nodded. "Why do you ask?" The only reason they bought a better bed was because the previous one that came with the apartment broke from age. Prompting them to buy one that guaranteed prolonged use.
As they arrived at their bedroom door, Hisashi stopped to give her a look that froze her in place. "I'm asking because even if you happen to transform by accident…" He leaned close until their foreheads touched while keeping eye contact. "I'm not going to stop." He said in a low voice before looking up to enter the room.
In an instant, Inko's blush returned in full force as she held her burning cheeks. "O-Oh my…" She whispered with a meek and excited smile as her husband closed the door.
U.A. GROUNDS-HALLWAYS
"Toga slow down!" Izuku chuckled with Bakugou as the girl skipped ahead with a cheer.
Toga spun around to grin at them. "How can I!? We're in U.A.!" She exclaimed with a twirl.
"We get it! It's an amazing place." Bakugou cut in with a smirk. "But if you keep it up, you might get in trouble for causing too much noise or something." From what he read from somewhere, private schools usually don't allow people to be rowdy in the hallway.
Izuku nodded as Toga pouted. "He has a fair point." He chimed in as they arrived in front of the 1A Classroom door. "Unless we know how things work around here, we'll have to be on our best behavior." He added before opening the large door that was standard here. "Hmmm, I guess it's for people with giant quirks."
Upon entering they were greeted by the sight of an assortment of characters. Some of them were already getting to know each other while a few kept to themselves.
"Midoriya!"
Looking at the voice they were greeted by a familiar face approaching them. "Hey Ida!" Izuku grinned as Toga gave a friendly wave while Bakugou nodded to him. "Good to see you again!" He brought him in for a friendly hug the surprised him but immediately returned it with a friendly pat.
"Likewise." Ida chuckled as he was released from the hug. "It's nice to know we'll be classmates from here on out." He then looked to Toga and Bakugou. "How have you been?"
To this, the explosive teen huffed as he gestured to the blonde. "She's been bouncing all over the place ever since we've set foot here." He brushed off the embarrassed shove he got after saying that. "As for me, I'm just waiting to see what we'll be dealing with."
"Ever alert I see." Ida's remark earned a smirk while the others chuckled in agreement.
"Hey guys!"
They turned around to see Ochako happily making her way to them. "Ochako!" Toga cheered as the two immediately hugged each other with laughs.
Izuku smiled at the scene. "Looks like the gang's all here." He then looked around. "Better find a seat before the teacher gets here." His suggestions were met with agreement.
As he moved, he took the time to observe his future classmates who sported a variety of quirks. "Emitter, Transformation, and Mutant quirks." He noted while taking a seat which was between Toga and Bakugou like in his old school. "Quite the variety, I can already tell that this'll be an interesting class." He chuckled.
Unbeknownst to him, a few students were looking at him and his friends with unsure expressions before discussing it with each other. When the others did the same, they looked just as lost.
Just then, the doors opened, revealing Eraserhead. Whose tired presence prompted shushing from the students as they rushed to their chosen seats.
When he made it to the front desk, he eyed each of the students before nodding. "Good, you know how to be quiet." He then took a deep breath to compose himself. "Before we start, I would like to clarify something first. As some of you may have noticed, we have an extra student, unlike the other batches." At this, some began counting the people present in the room, confirming what he said.
"Now normally, we would have to transfer that one extra person to another similar batch to keep things standard." The students became uncomfortable at the thought of being chosen to move out. "But to be blunt, I'm not willing to do that." The relief was palpable after that. "I'd rather not deal with the headache of parents questioning my actions or students being heartbroken, so I'll allow things to stay as is." Friend groups exchanged happy glances, glad that they weren't going to be separated.
"But." Aizawa cut in with a stern voice. "If any of you give me any reason." His hair rose as his eyes glowed red from activating his quirk. "I will not hesitate in removing one of you." He then stopped using his quirk, going back to his tired look. "Understood?"
"YES!" The class immediately responded with a mix of fear and nervousness, though Bakugou would never admit to it.
Aizawa nodded. "Good." He sighed. "Now then, I'm your homeroom teacher, Shouta Aizawa. Nice to meet you." He then gestured to the door. "Today's class will start in the P.E. grounds, head to your locker rooms to change and meet me there." Without another word, the students began moving in fear of being singled out by the strict man.
U.A. GROUNDS-P.E. AREA
"A Quirk Apprehension Test?" Izuku, Toga, and Bakugou exchanged confused looks as everyone was equally shocked and confused.
Nearby, a red-haired teen scratched his head in confusion. "Shouldn't there be an introduction to school rules or a ceremony?"
"If you all want to be heroes, we don't have time for that kind of thing." Aizawa answered without looking at him. "I'm sure most of you are aware of the school's freedom on the campus." He then gave them a serious look. "That same freedom applies to the teachers too." He pulled out a softball from his pocket. "The tests will be based on sporting tests, only this time you'll be applying your quirks." He then searched the group. "Bakugou." The blond stood in attention as he passed the ball. "Stand in this circle and throw this."
After catching the ball, the blond stared at it as the man continued to explain. "Any method you do is fine as long as you don't leave the circle." The teen nodded and made his way to the circle.
"Try not to destroy the ball!" Izuku called out, making Ochako and Toga chuckle while Ida chortled. Everyone else watched in anticipation upon hearing that.
As he stood in the circle, Bakugou scoffed. "No promises nerd." He then winded his arm with a feral look before launching the item with a huge explosion. "DIE!" He screamed at the top of his lungs.
Izuku and Toga shook their heads with fond looks while everyone else gaped at the power of the quirk and the distance the ball flew. One girl however with earphone jacks on her ears grumbled while massaging her jacks.
Aizawa however didn't pay attention as he focused on a device on his hand. "It's essential to understand what we're capable of." When the device beeped, he showed it to them, revealing 705m.
Izuku and Toga cheered. "Nice one Bakugou!" The blond looked at them with a proud smirk as Ochako and Ida cheered as well.
"That's amazing!" A guy with interesting elbows exclaimed while everyone else expressed the same thoughts.
A girl with pink skin looked excited. "This looks fun!" Her words prompted most to become eager for their turn as well.
However, everyone's words served to make the pro narrow his eyes. "Fun you say?" His cold tone silenced them. "If that's the case, how about we make this interesting?" None liked the sound of that.
"If any of you have a low score at the end of this test, I'll expel them on the spot." In an instant, most paled in horror at what he said. "Think of this as another entrance trial." He lowered his scarf a bit to reveal a sadistic smile. "Welcome to the Department of Heroics."
Author's Notes:
1. For clarification, this fic will only feature Kaiju from the Ultraman series/Video Games. So, I'm sorry for those who were expecting Godzilla or other monsters from popular franchises.
2. Yes, I'm aware that the canon version of Bemstar never did the moves shown here. But like Gudon, I decided to give the Kaiju forms a buff.
3. Also please, feel free to give your honest opinions and point out any errors you see. I'll be sure to fix them right away.
4. And yes, Hisashi is a cultured chad.
