USJ GROUNDS-ENTRANCE AT THE TOP OF STAIRS
"GET A HOLD OF YOURSELVES!"
After jolting from the stern voice, the students snapped at Thirteen who was focused on the villain. "It's obvious that he's just saying that to make all of you panic!" Her gaze hardened behind her helmet.
Despite his position, Kurogiri strained out a chuckle. "And what if I'm not?"
Thirteen gritted her teeth in frustration. "You've said enough!" She increased her quirk's intensity, making him grunt. "Find your resolve, don't let yourself fall into despair. The others wouldn't if they were in your position!" She yelled out in determination.
At that, most snapped out of their stupor and stood their ground. Toga especially came back to her senses. She's right; Izuku and Bakugou wouldn't want her to give up, and neither would the others.
The best thing to do now would be to believe in each other and reunite when this whole thing ends.
With this, Ida regained his focus. "Form up!" The others rallied behind him as he looked to Thirteen. "What do we do?" He questioned while they focused on the warp villain.
"We need to call for help!" The heroine answered as she assessed the situation. "We couldn't reach anyone earlier, meaning that there's a villain somewhere jamming our communications!" Her gaze shifted to the wall. "And since they warped here, none of the alarms went off!"
The tall teen grimaced at the info. "They planned for this." He theorized that they must have used the security breach at school as a cover-up to gather information on the defenses here and schedules. "Either that, or they've been scoping this place for much longer." As much as he hated to say it, they prepared well.
While thinking along the same lines, Thirteen knew she couldn't hold the villain forever so she decided to take a risk. "We'll need to do this the old-fashioned way!" The tall teen snapped to her in attention. "Ida, run back to U.A. and call for help!"
The class president was taken aback by the order but nodded in understanding. "Yes, sensei!" He gazed at the entrance in determination. As much as he wanted to fight with them, leaving for help was their best option for survival.
"We'll cover you, Ida!" Toga wore her goggles and mask while the others got ready. Ochako touched his shoulder, applying her quirk to make him lighter and faster.
Kurogiri narrowed his eyes. "Don't underestimate me!"
Thirteen was about to speak before she heard something behind her. "What?" She glanced back, her eyes widened in horror upon seeing a portal opening behind her. "Don't tell me!" In an instant, her quirk emerged from the portal and began to tear her suit apart from the back.
"THIRTEEN!" Ochako was about to rush in but was stopped by Sero who pointed out that her quirk would kill her.
Acting quickly, the heroine stopped using her quirk but the damage had already been done. "Now you're dust!" Kurogiri bellowed as he watched her fall to the ground. "Your kind's recklessness will be your downfall!" He taunted as he towered over them again.
The students gathered around the teacher and formed a protective formation. Sero acted quickly and carefully checked her pulse. When he felt it, he checked for any wounds for him to patch up with tape while Toga glared at the villain. "GO IDA!"
"Right!" With resolve, Ida went into a running stance for a moment before his engines flared and he dashed forward in a burst of speed. Passing the villain and towards the entrance.
After momentarily being surprised by the sudden speed, Kurogiri became angered and moved to look at the teen. "You're not-!" He yelled out in pain as a surge of electricity went through him. "W-What?" He stiffly looked back and saw that Toga had her gauntlets aimed at him with a glare. "How did she hit me!?"
Unbeknownst to him, Toga had used her goggle's thermal vision to find his body within the mist and fired her gauntlets' electric darts. "Keep going!" She fired again while Mina joined her and flung acid at the villain.
"Not this time!" Kurogiri retorted in anger as he opened a portal in front of him that caught the attacks.
With her eyes widening, Toga turned to Sero and Sato. "Move Thirteen!" The duo nodded and grabbed the heroine before moving. Narrowly avoiding being hit by acid and electric darts, the moment causing them to scatter a little.
Using the disarray, Kurogiri turned his attention to Ida who was getting close to the door. "There will be no escape!" His eyes glowed.
Ida was halfway to the door when, to his horror, the space ahead of him began to distort. "Another portal!" He began skidding to a stop but his momentum wouldn't allow him to stop in time. "No good, I'll slide right into it!" He paled as the misty portal began to form.
But to everyone's shock, Shoji had used to commotion earlier to get close enough to jump from the side and grab the portal with his many arms, dissipating it in the process. "Keep going!" He yelled before rolling on the ground.
"Thank you!" The tall teen replied and increased his speed again.
Angered by this, Kurogiri increased his size and pursued him. "Your efforts are in vain!"
In an instant, several spots ahead of Ida began to distort, making the latter grit his teeth. "I mustn't falter!" Thinking back to his training with his brother, he adjusted his speed and concentrated.
Upon getting close to a portal, he zipped to the side and pushed forward, shocking the villain. "I cannot fail!" With every portal encountered, he'd adjust his body to avoid it before continuing onward. "Everyone's counting on me!" He'd already failed to protect his other companions from being teleported and he refuses to fail again!
Kurogiri growled, his eyes glowing in anger. "You will never leave this place!" He increased his speed, shocking the students.
Ida ignored his threats, knowing that he was trying to distract him long enough to warp him away. "Focus on the mission!" He sidestepped another portal. "Just like Tensei taught you!" He slid underneath a portal just as it began to form before running again.
Kurogiri roared behind him, casting a large shadow over him as he got close. But the teen remained focused and continued to ignore him the best he could.
"Ida!" Ochako yelled out in fear as a gold light flashed behind her before a fast figure flew past, surprising her and her classmates.
"I can't do it!" Ida grimaced as the shadow over him worsened. "Even with Ochako's quirk, he's too fast!" He held back a curse as the warp villain mockingly laughed above him.
Kurogiri sneered. "Too easy." He was about to converge on the teen before stopping when he heard a distinct sound. Glancing behind him, he was surprised to see Antlar flying towards him at high speed. "What in the world?" Unconsciously, he lost a bit of pace with Ida.
"GET AWAY FROM HIM!" Toga roared as her pincers glowed with energy before firing an energy beam.
Shaking off his surprise, Kurogiri simply opened a portal in front of him that caught the attack. "Reckless!" He redirected the laser at the teen. "You're just as foolish as those other two!"
After dodging the attack, she fired again and as the attack entered another portal, Toga shot up in the air and fired another, much more powerful, beam aimed at Kurogiri's face. "Go down!"
The warp villain had just finished taking the attack before looking up to redirect her shot. Only to prematurely fire it and dodge the powerful beam attack. "You missed child!" He mocked with a hint of shock in his voice from her ferocity.
Toga adjusted her body, roaring when the attack grazed her side but didn't stop firing. "Wasn't going for you!" She yelled and lifted her head to move the beam.
Kurogiri's eyes widened and looked back in time to see the beam leave a smoking trench as it traveled before colliding with the entrance, forcing Ida to stop to shield himself and leaving a giant hole where the door once stood. "I miscalculated!"
After regaining his bearings, Ida's expression steeled as he continued his run, the sight infuriating the villain. "I refuse to fail again." He grew in size. "This time I'll-" His gaze shifted to chunks of concrete on the ground being surrounded by a pink glow before shooting towards him. "What!?" He hastily made a portal to take the attacks. How many more abilities does she have!?
"Go!" Toga encouraged with glowing pincers as she did circles around the warp villain, gathering more debris as she traveled before launching them at him.
Kurogiri glowered as he warped away another barrage of attacks. "I've had enough of this!" He looked up and opened several portals aimed at her. "Your interference ends now !" He unleashed all the captured projectiles at once before pursuing Ida.
The blonde held back a gasp and focused as she began dodging the barrage. She redirected some away with her magnetic beam before yelling in pain when one large chunk hit the side that was struck earlier.
"Toga!" Ochako cried out in fear but calmed a bit when her friend managed to regain control. Her gaze then shifted to the warp villain's imposing form as it pursued Ida before focusing on his body, narrowing her eyes when she remembered the damage inflicted on him earlier.
Ida cursed as he could feel Kurogiri gaining on him again. The latter was about to lunge at him before he was suddenly pulled away, shocking both of them. "What now!?" To his horror, when he looked back, he saw Ochako with her hands in his misty body as she pulled.
Noticing his expression, she couldn't help but grin daringly. "I don't know how this thing works…" Her grip tightened on his metal brace. "But since you have this, you have a solid form for my quirk to work with!" She suddenly threw the misty body up in the air. "Keep going, Ida!"
"Oh no!" Kurogiri yelled in helpless dismay as he was pulled away from the students and into the air. Glancing back, he saw Ida dash through the giant hole, making it impossible for him to warp him. "You insolent-!"
Sero quickly followed up with a tape shot to the villain's brace before pulling. "That's enough from you!" With Ochako's quirk, it was easy for him to swing the villain around. "Begone!" He yelled before flinging the villain higher in the air and most importantly, away from them.
Kurogiri grunted from the force of the throw and glared at the giant hole where Ida left. "He'll be back with support." Even if they had numbers, there was no way they could win against all those pros, even with Nomu with them. "It's game over." He growled before teleporting away.
Sero let out a sigh of relief. "He's gone."
"For now." Sato grimly added before watching Toga land and return to normal to hold her side with a grimace. "You all right?"
The blonde grunted as she got on one knee and flicked away some of her quirk's slime. "I'm fine, Antlar's exoskeleton protected me from the worst of it." The sugar user nodded, glad that she was ok. She then gazed at Thirteen in fear. "Is she…?"
"She has a pulse." Sero's words helped calm them. "But she's going to be out for a while." He added before repairing more tears on the woman's suit.
Toga nodded. "Ok." She then smiled at Ochako who was staring at the hole and releasing her quirk. "Nice move back there."
Blinking out of her stupor, Ochako returned the grin. "You did more damage." She shrugged and returned her gaze to the exit. "All I did was work with what I saw…" She trailed off as her expression shifted to worry.
Toga became confused and followed her gaze, at once she became empathetic and placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "It's going to be ok." She gave a comforting squeeze. "From how long we've known him, he's the type of guy to do his best for everyone." She smiled. "He'll be back with help before we know it."
The gravity user mulled over her words before nodding with a sigh. "I know he will." She patted the hand on her shoulder. "Thanks, I just can't help but be worried for him, you know?" She said before looking at her with an awkward smile.
Toga nodded knowingly and pulled her in for a gentle hug that she reciprocated. "I'm the same way with Izuku." She paused for effect. "And Bakugou of course." Her friend's giggle earned a smile from her, glad to raise her spirit a bit. "We'll get through this." She glanced at everyone else. "Together."
"I know we will." Ochako agreed as they separated before looking unsure. "But…what do we do now?" Her question was shared with the rest who looked uncertain.
Toga paused in thought as she assessed the situation. With everyone else scattered, they lacked the maximum firepower to defend themselves. She, Sero, and Mina could do some ranged damage, but she doubted that they could last with just the three of them.
The blood Izuku gave her would run out eventually, Mina's acid lacked accuracy and Sero's quirk could easily be countered if one of the thugs had a way to tear up the tape.
Mezo could keep an extra eye or ear out for them and could deal some damage. But like Sato and Ochako, they're mostly close-ranged fighters, putting them at a disadvantage against more experienced ranged fighters or that warp villain.
And that's not including the severe numbers disadvantage and not knowing what the leader or that hulking monstrosity could do.
Her expression hardened before gazing at Thirteen. "Can she be moved?"
Being the one that patched her up, Sero answered. "I'm…not sure." He looked at the fallen heroine in uncertainty. "I was able to cover up visible wounds and seal her suit a bit." The blonde focused on the numerous tapes on the suit. "But I'm no medical expert, so I'm not sure if it's a good idea to move her or how bad she's hurt."
Toga hummed, if they moved her without knowing how bad it was, they could worsen her condition to the point of being untreatable. She gazed at the exit, they would have had more room to fight in out there, but the issue with numbers would get to them.
So, with this, she sighed before an idea came to her. "Ochako, use your quirk on Thirteen so that you and Sato can gently move her to a safer spot, we'll join you when you're done." The gravity user nodded and moved to her task, followed by the sugar user. "Mezo, we'll need your senses in case we get ambushed." The multi-armed teen nodded and produced extra ears and eyes to survey the area. "Update us if you happen to hear or see the others."
The blonde then focused on Sero and Mina. "The three of us will be the vanguard in case the villains try anything." She glanced at Ochako and Sato who found a good spot to get the heroine comfortable. "I know the rest can hold their own, but they don't have ranged attacks like we do." Toga returned her gaze to them, expression serious. "And with that warp guy around, they'll be sitting ducks." The two understood her logic.
Toga adjusted her gauntlets. "They can provide backup, but as much as possible, we'll have to deal with the heavy hitters first." She patted her utility belt. "My quirk still has enough blood to last a day and I've got some gear here to help in the fight."
"Got it." Mina nodded in resolute, as did Sero. "I'm guessing the plan is to hold out until the others arrive?" Upon receiving a nod, she nodded with a sigh. "Better than having no plan at least." She then cracked her fingers with a grin that reminded them of Kirishima. "I'm in."
Sero nodded, though he looked concerned as he stared at the other simulation areas. "But how do we know if the others are still here?" He shivered at how certain the warp villain was from his statement.
Toga was silent for a moment before sighing. "We don't." Her answer sent unease through them. "But, if the villains' goal was to kill us, they would have sent that big guy or at least attempted to do so." She shifted her gaze at Thirteen. "From what I've seen, their focus is on the pros, probably because they consider them as legitimate threats to whatever they planned."
Mina hissed from her hypothesis. "We're just collateral to them?" Her frown deepened when the blonde nodded. "That explains why that warp guy was so surprised with how we fought him." While a bit insulting, it's a silver lining to know that the villains underestimate them.
"Exactly." Toga pointed at her with an approving look. "Which means, the others were most likely moved in the other simulation areas or outside the building." She concluded.
Mina, Mezo, and Sero looked relieved from hearing this. "That's good." The multi-armed teen nodded before a question came to mind. "But how do we tell them to meet us here?" He doubted they could send a signal without alerting the villains.
To this, Toga smiled. "Izuku." Her answer got shocked looks from them. "Bakugou can take the lead too, but even he would tell you that if there's anyone you can count on to take charge when others aren't available, it'd be Izuku." Her words and knowing tone helped raise their spirits before they all regrouped with Ochako and Sato.
MEANWHILE-USJ GROUNDS-SHIPWRECK ZONE
When the light returned to his sights, Izuku blinked to clear his vision before looking down to see that he was rapidly approaching a large body of water. "Oh crap!" His form glowed as he began to transform.
*SPLASH*
When the water settled, it revealed an eel-like transformation with rotating horns and a long tail. This form is called: Eleking. A water-based transformation that was once wielded by Mikami Midoriya.
Not much is known about her past due to its scarcity or why she chose villainy in the first place. It was known that she was a villainess who terrorized ships that were unlucky enough to catch her attention.
She'd destroy the ship's ability to turn before draining all its power. Once it was motionless, she'd board the boat and take anything of high value before swimming away. Anyone who tried to call for help was quick to discover that their communications were jammed, unknowingly due to the transformation's horns.
Fights didn't last long, even with pro heroes due to the environmental advantage and Mikami's quick tactics. When it was done, she'd simply return to the water and swim away to her hidden lair.
For two years, ship travel was highly discouraged and if a ship did need to travel for any reason, they'd usually be under heavy guard (which often didn't deter her from attacking them). And while she was beaten back a few times, the majority of conflicts ended with her coming out on top and more loot.
One day, her base had been unveiled when a massive explosion came from a nearby island. Contrary to popular theories, the place was within the eyesight of a coastal city, possibly to hide within the authorities' search range.
Mikami was never found, but her massive treasure trove was. And with great effort, most of the valuables were returned while the remaining loot that couldn't be returned was directed to humanitarian efforts.
"That was close." Izuku's posture loosened, glad that he had an aquatic transformation in his arsenal. "It pays to be prepared." He smiled a little before becoming serious. Before he reached the water, he recalled catching a glimpse of a large boat in the center. "Maybe I'm not the only one warped here…" Even if he was, he could always head to the other simulation areas by himself and help whoever was there.
With this, Izuku was about to swim up before his horn radars detected something approaching him. "!?" Looking in that direction he could make out someone approaching him at high speed. "So that's their plan." He shifted his stance to face the threat. "Scatter us and pick us off." He idly detected more approaching around, albeit slower than the attacker.
Even without eyes, his radar allowed him to make out the shape of the threat, revealing a shark-like villain. "Nothing personal kid!" He snarled before widely opening his jaws, showcasing many rows of sharp teeth.
"It's fine." Charging 5%, Izuku twisted in a surprising burst of speed and tail whipped the villain's face, making him scream in pain and rapidly spin away. "It's not like you were going to get a piece of me." He casually added as he watched the villain stop spinning before floating up, unconscious.
"Looks like we've got a fighter!" Another villain, this one with a swordfish quirk, exclaimed as others surrounded the teen. "The hand guy said you guys were going to be pushovers." He readied his blade, a dangerous gleam in his eyes. "Looks like we'll be having fun after all." His words caused some of the grunts to chuckle.
But their moment was silenced when Izuku chuckled along with them. "Glad to make a first impression." His gaze shifted amongst the group, appearing to be unbothered but alert. "So, who's next?"
Swordfish bristled and adjusted his stance. "Don't ignore me!" He snarled as he shot forward with his nose blade ready.
[ULTRAMAN FE3 OST - "Ultraman Fighting Theme 1" - Plays]
Izuku waited for a moment before easily dodging the villain's attack, surprising the latter and everyone else with the burst of speed. "W-Wha-!?" He screamed when the teen followed up with a strong tail slam to his back, sending him deeper into the water.
After recovering from his surprise, another villain glared at the teen and pointed. "GET HIM!" His fellow grunts screamed and charged at the young hero.
Izuku smiled as he charged 5% OFA and swiftly tail whipped two villains away before gaining distance. "Time to put the Combat Dive Training to good use." He brought his hands together, producing sparks.
"You're too slow, kid!" Another shark villain sneered as he bared his teeth. "I'm going to enjoy tearing you apart!" Behind him, others laughed in agreement.
But the OFA user wasn't bothered and used his radar to watch the villains get close enough. "Almost…" The shark villain began to reach out. "There!" With his hands together, he gathered the electricity into an orb before spinning to face the villains while maintaining his speed, much to their surprise and horror upon seeing his hands. "Shock Orb!" He launched the attack with a roar.
And unfortunately for the shark villain, he was the target. "OH FUC-!" He screamed in agony as he flew back from the impact. The other villains stopped and could only watch helplessly while he spasmed in pain as electricity pulsed within him before stopping, leaving him to lose consciousness and float to the surface.
Izuku stopped as well and used the disarray to form another shock orb and fire it at a villain with a pufferfish quirk, making him scream in pain.
At once everyone snapped to him in alert as the villain passed out and floated up. "Don't let him throw another one!" One of them yelled out in slight panic, urging those brave enough to charge in.
Izuku expected this and swam low before darting ahead. He then brought his hands together and quickly fired a smaller shock orb that shocked a villain in place. While not as powerful, it served as a way to paralyze foes.
He maneuvered up and between a few villains before firing more stun orbs. "H-He's too fast!" A villain exclaimed with a pained spasm.
"Keep trying!" A female stingray thug exclaimed as she waved her hands and clasped them together, producing bubbles. "He can't escape forever!" She brought her hands forward, firing a powerful water jet.
After tail whipping a villain away, Izuku glanced at the incoming attack before twirling around it with ease and firing a powerful stun orb at the villain, making the latter scream in pain and stop her attack.
She then grunted in pain when the teen's tail wrapped around her. "You're right." She looked up at him with a grimace as he swam up to her while the other villains watched with caution. "But that doesn't mean I'll make it easy." He increased his grip before throwing her at three villains who tried to sneak up on him.
As they yelled in pain from the impact and the electricity from the woman's body, Izuku unleashed another shock orb at a villain.
The man tensed and hastily leaned away from the attack. "Damn you!" He narrowed his eyes as the water around his fingers hardened. "Stop making a fool out of us!" He flung the water shells with fury-like bullets.
Izuku swam up but a stray projectile grazed his leg, making him wince before roaring and charging at the villain. The latter's eyes widened in alarm before flinging more water bullets in mild panic.
With great focus, the young hero twirled and dodged the attacks while enduring a few hits. And as the distance shortened, the villain hastened his attack, screaming for something to hit.
But just before Izuku could ram him, he suddenly felt like he had been hit by a car when something tackled him from below, spinning him from the sudden collision.
When the spinning stopped, he looked down and noted that something squishy was wrapped around his torso and pinning his arms. "I got him!" A buff villain with an octopus quirk exclaimed. "You can't make those orbs if your hands are tied, can't you?" He tightened his tentacles, earning a pained grunt. "Hit him with something! Don't worry about me, I can heal it later!" He looked around, encouraging everyone to take the chance.
[Song Pauses]
But to his annoyance, no one moved, only staring at the pair with varying expressions of shock and disbelief. "Come on! What's the matter with all of you!?" He snapped. "Take him down while you have the chance!" Can't any of them see how good of a chance this is!?
One of the grunts gulped. "Yeah…but…" His eyes shifted nervously, along with the others, unsure how to explain.
"Wow."
The villain snapped at Izuku who was glancing at him. And despite how hard it was to read his expression; they had a sense that he was thoroughly unimpressed. "You're…not very bright, are you?" And the irony that the guy was an octopus wasn't lost on him either.
"The hell?" The man exclaimed after looking like he had been slapped by the blunt remark and narrowed his eyes dangerously at the teen. "What are you getting at brat?" And now that he thought about it, why was everyone suddenly looking at him like he was an idiot?
Wordlessly and without breaking "eye contact", Izuku raised his tail, drawing the gaze of the villain, and simply produced a few sparks. Immediately causing him to become pale.
…
…
…
Oh.
Izuku's entire form lit up with electricity, drawing pained screams from the villain that made the others cringe from the light or wince from the scene.
After another moment, the teen ceased using electricity and looked back to the villain who released his grip and looked a little cooked as he floated up. "C-Crispy…!" The man said in a hoarse whisper.
Knowing that he was fine and most likely out of the fight, Izuku watched him go before looking at the villain who attacked him with water bullets earlier. "Now…" The latter looked at him, his expression shifting to fear upon seeing that he was the one being addressed. "Where were we?" He questioned while charging 5%.
[Song Continues]
With a burst of speed, Izuku dashed ahead with a roar. The action caused the man to panic again and launch more water bullets. But instead of doing the same thing earlier, the teen swiftly changed course and dived before rising close enough to extend his tail towards the villain, grabbing his left ankle.
The man cursed and was about to grab the tail but was met with a painful shock before being dragged to Izuku who delivered a powerful punch and released him in a daze.
Izuku watched him before focusing on four villains rushing him. "Can't take a hint huh?" His form sparked as he shifted his stance. "Maybe this will change your mind." In a flash, his form lit up with electricity, forcing them to stop in alarm. "Eleking Collider!" He roared before dashing forward.
The group panicked and tried to swim away but were too slow as one of them was knocked away by an electric tackle before one was grabbed on the ankle by a tail. The latter was electrocuted before being thrown at his other fleeing villain, shocking them both.
The remaining one, a clam-like villain, was simply too slow as Izuku simply grabbed and electrocuted her for a moment before allowing her to float up unconscious.
He then dashed towards an angler fish villain. "I'll stop him in his tracks!" His antenna twitched before an intense light was produced, forcing those nearby to shield their eyes with a grimace. "Deep Flash!"
When the attack ended, he paled upon seeing that Izuku wasn't affected in the slightest. "I-Impossible!" He tried to run but a shock orb prevented him. "Y-You s-s-should be b-blind!" He said in between shocks.
After knocking him out with a tail whip to the face, Izuku readied himself again. "Gee, I wonder why?" He questioned in a cryptic tone. "Guess they can't tell that I don't have eyes in this form." He shrugged before moving again. "Oh well, works for me!"
"This guy is a menace!" A clownfish villain yelled in frustration as they watched the teen attack more grunts. "Someone needs to take him out!"
Nearby, a seahorse villain growled in annoyance. "Then you do it then!" His outburst got a glare from the villain. "There's no way I'm going anywhere near that guy!" He showed his strong arms. "My strength and speed are useless here!" The clownfish narrowed his eyes but couldn't retort since he wasn't any better.
"Leave it to me."
They looked back and saw Hanzo Suiden, a tall, muscular man. He wears a black, full-body wetsuit with shoulder pads, accompanied by gray gloves and armored boots. He has a pale, noseless, white face with grooves under the eyes, sunken eye sockets, and a lower jaw pushed underneath the upper region, giving his face the appearance of a skull. Adding to this are blue eyes with white pupils, red markings on the cranium, a wide set of lipless teeth, and a gold, armor-like piece surrounding his entire lower head. He also wears a belt with his face's design.
"Shigaraki warned us that there might be a few gems in this batch." Hanzo's gaze narrowed on Izuku. "Looks like we ran into one of them." He reared his right hand. "Stall him, I'll finish it in one blow." He sneered as his hand began to glow with power.
Clownfish and Seahorse exchanged uncertain glances but knew better than to argue with an E-Rank Villain. Even if he wasn't one of the high-profile ones, ranked villains aren't ones to mess with.
With a nod, both grunts rushed ahead as the water around Hanzo's hand began to shift.
After knocking out a villain with a punch, Izuku detected quick movement on his radar and dodged as the Seahorse sped past him. The latter was angered at the miss before charging again. "You're done!" He aimed his fists forward.
The OFA user prepared to launch a stun orb but paused when he detected a waiting presence behind him. With a small smirk, he decided to wait.
Seahorse grinned at the lack of movement. "That's right you little shit, freeze for me!" He increased his speed with killer intent. "Hanzo won't even have to lift a finger by the time we're done with you!" Clownfish remained still, ready to catch the kid with a sadistic smile.
Their moment of glee was cut short however when Izuku swiftly darted up, drawing horrified looks from Seahorse and Clownfish. "S-Stop!" The latter screamed and waved his hands in front of him but neither would be able to react in time before colliding.
As the pair separated in a pained daze, Izuku floated near them with shock orbs ready on each hand. "Good plan." He threw the projectiles, eliciting screams from them. "Poor execution." He added as the two passed out.
"How about this kid!?"
The teen just turned his head before he was blindsided and flung to the side with the sound of mocking laughter.
After regaining his bearings, Izuku stopped himself from traveling further. He shook off his daze and looked at the threat before freezing.
If he had eyes, they would have widened at the sight of a massive water hand construct wielded by a villain, easily the most experienced one among them. "Let's see how you deal with someone like me!" His declaration earned cheers from the conscious villains.
Izuku fired three shock orbs at Hanzo who simply blocked it with the large construct. "Not even a tingle!" He laughed as the attack and construct dissipated before sending a barrage of water slashes with his hands.
The teen was taken aback before he began dodging the barrage and trying to gain some distance. Unfortunately, one had managed to wound his arm, drawing a pained roar from him as he held it.
"Not so tough now, are you!?" Hanzo laughed as the rest jeered at the teen. "There's blood in the water! Tear him apart, then we'll go for his friends!" The group cheered and began charging at the young hero while preparing a ranged water construct.
But Izuku wasn't focused on that, rather, he had his focus on the villain's threat to his friends, sending resolve through him as he looked at him with an aura of anger as his form crackled.
One of the charging villains felt a chill up her spine. "W-Wait!" She exclaimed with a stop.
The action caused confusion as others stopped with her. "What's up with you? You heard Hanzo, this is our chance to take him down!" A nearby grunt reminded in a frustrated tone. "Don't tell me you're having a change of heart?"
"It's nothing like that." She retorted while rubbing her arms. "Something just feels off." Did the water suddenly get cold?
A Lionfish villain scoffed. "What's there to be worried about? They're just a bunch of brats!" He crossed his arms in annoyance. "Or maybe you're just finally realizing how weak you are."
At that, the woman snapped at him angrily. "Care to repeat that, fish face?" Her seaweed hair extended and poised to attack.
"Gladly." He arrogantly retorted, his poisonous spines tensing as he prepared to lunge at her while everyone else tried to convince the two to stop fighting.
As this happened, one villain looked in Izuku's direction and paled. "Uh, guys?" The duo looked at him. "I think we have a bigger problem." Everyone followed his gaze and paled as well.
Due to the commotion caused by Izuku's intimidating aura, the group failed to notice him creating a large shock orb that he was now raising above his head. "Take this!" 5% OFA coursed through him as he threw the orb. "SHOCK ORB!"
Snapping out of his stupor, the seaweed villain stammered. "SCATTER!" No one argued as everyone hastily moved out of the way in a panic.
Hanzo looked up at the commotion and groaned. "Amateurs." He sighed before his expression hardened. "Fine, have it your way!" Both of his hands glowed with power as he moved them forward, creating one large hand construct. "You're not getting past this!" He declared with confidence.
The moment the orb made contact, a powerful shockwave pushed some villains away or forced them to shield their eyes from the intense light. "I-I can't see!" One grunt yelled in a grimace with his eyes shut.
Hanzo on the other hand remained firm, despite the visible struggle against the attack. "You're tough, I'll give you that!" He grunted out while squinting his eyes from the light. "But this is where it ends for you!" He laughed with a bloodthirsty grin as he added more power, stopping himself from being pushed.
"I'm not done!"
The villain furrowed his brows at that before he screamed in pain and nearly lost his focus but quickly regained it. "What!?" He looked to where he felt pain and was stunned that he had been slashed on his side, while not deep enough to produce blood it still hurt. "How!?"
"Consider this payback for earlier!"
Before he could respond, he screamed again as his other side and right leg was slashed. "Where is it coming from?" He held back a scream as he was slashed again, this time just below his armpit. "And how is his aim so goddamn good with how bright it is!?" Honestly, it was like holding back the sun!
Just as his eyes adjusted to the light a bit, he was hit with another barrage of slashes, causing him to falter his stance little by little. "I can't keep it up!" It didn't make any sense; the kid wasn't behind him or in his general vicinity. Even if he was, the others would have made a commotion about it.
After a slash on his right hip, it dawned on him. "Don't tell me." With his eyes closed and expression in a pained grimace, he faced the electric ball. "That son of a-" He screamed from a slash to his left ankle.
From the other side of the electric orb, Izuku's teeth glowed as he fired a yellow, crescent-shaped, disc of electric energy that easily passed through the orb and sliced through the water construct before slashing Hanzo's leg. "I love my radar and sonar." He chortled before noting that the orb was beginning to lose its size. "Time to finish this." He darted forward with increasing speed as his teeth glowed before firing. "Light Blade Barrage!"
With every slash, Hanzo's stance continued to falter. "This is torture!" He growled as he began to tremble from his losing strength. "He's just a kid!" Another slash to his torso threatened to break his stance. "I've beaten more experienced heroes!" A slash to his left cheek and arms increased his anger. "THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!" He yelled in rage.
"Start believing!" Izuku's form glowed with electricity as he increased his speed. "Because this fight is over!" He roared.
Upon hearing this, Hanzo's rage increased as he realized what the young hero was about to do. "Not like this!" With great will, he lowered his left hand, shrinking the construct a little which began to crack from the lack of support. "I refuse to let someone like you get the better of me!" He strained out as he clenched his left hand, desperation and rage taking over. "If I'm going down…" He grunted as he steadied his right hand which held the construct for now and added power to his left which glowed. "I'm taking you with me!" Be snarled with effort.
But Izuku wasn't deterred and merely smiled daringly at the challenge. "Take your best shot then!" He redirected his electricity into his tail.
Despite the difficult position he was in, Hanzo did his best to concentrate on steadying himself, knowing that he had one chance to kill his enemy. He tried to ignore the strain on his body as he applied whatever power he had to his left hand, the water around it shifting with a glow.
After a moment, he strengthened the construct on his right hand and gripped the orb. His eyes then snapped open in hatred as he screamed and moved the massive projectile enough to thrust his empowered left hand toward the teen. "YOU'RE SKEWERED!" A large rapier blade construct extended from his palm in a burst of speed.
But to his disbelief, Izuku, with the combination of OFA and Eleking's flexibility as well as maneuverability in the water, twirled to the left from the blade in a burst of speed and shot five light blades at the villain.
Hanzo screamed as the blades slashed him, making him stagger. When he snapped to his construct to retain his hold before it could shatter, he paled when he saw the young hero speeding towards the shock orb.
"Sorry, but it's over!" Izuku roared as he dashed forward before slamming his empowered tail on the orb. "BREAKER ORB!" The water construct shattered from the added power and impact, allowing the orb to shoot forward and engulf the villain in its power. The latter howled in pain before the orb exploded, blasting the surrounding villains away.
[Song Ends]
As the water settled, most villains were able to stop themselves. "What kind of kids do they have in this school!?" The seaweed villain exclaimed in exasperation.
"N-No idea…" An upside-down piranha villain groaned before correcting his position while holding his head. "I don't even know if we're fighting kids anymore." His sentiments were shared with everyone else as they recovered.
Meanwhile, the Lionfish focused on finding the combatants before he spotted shadowy figures and pointed. "Over there!" Everyone looked at him and followed his finger to get a good look at the scene.
What they saw sent a new wave of fear through them.
Izuku floated in place, appearing to be more fatigued than injured, and in his tail's grasp was Hanzo, the latter held by the neck, unresponsive and visibly more damaged.
The teen then brought the villain close to him, internally grateful that he was still breathing. "Your quirk is amazing." His voice sounded tired but sincere. "I could easily see you becoming a top hero with your skills." He added with disappointment in his tone.
Of course, Hanzo didn't respond, prompting a sigh from the OFA user. "Hopefully you'll take this moment as a learning experience." He released the villain, allowing him to float up. "Maybe you'll even become a great hero someday." He shrugged. "If not, you'll be behind bars again, possibly for good." While the latter situation was most likely, he still believed in giving chances.
Izuku watched him go for a moment before turning to everyone else, the action causing them to become tense. "H-He's a monster!" One grunt exclaimed in fear, unconsciously making a bit of distance.
"I thought we were supposed to take down a bunch of kids!?" A fish villain added in confused outrage. "It's like dealing with pros!" The group murmured in agreement with some exclaiming how unfair this fight is.
As the group went into disarray, Izuku had an idea. And while it sounded ridiculous on paper, he had to take the chance. "You know…" The grunts snapped to him in alert. "What I said earlier to that guy…it applies to all of you as well. While I don't know your circumstances, I know you all have great potential." While tense, they gave him curious looks. Where was he going with this?
The teen paused for a moment. "Let's say we put this behind us?" Everyone was taken aback by this. "When the pros arrive, I'll vouch for all of you." He glanced at the unconscious villains floating on the water's surface. "While I can't speak for everyone else, the rest of you still have a chance to make things right."
When none responded with some even glancing at each other, he continued. "Come on, is it worth spending a long time behind bars or a potential death penalty?" A few shifted uncomfortably at that. "Even if you don't fear those things, do you want your soul to be tainted by the blood of innocents?" His expression hardened. "I doubt that kind of guilt will leave you."
A tense silence followed as Izuku waited for a response. And while he didn't have eyes, he could tell that there was an air of uncertainty now.
While he doubted that he could convince all of them, there was a part of him that genuinely believed that there were reasonable people in this group. Not a lot per se, but enough to make it worth it.
"How stupid do you think we are?"
Despite expecting a negative response, Izuku couldn't help but give a disappointed look towards the Lionfish villain. "Do you expect us to believe that the pros would just… let us walk free after today?"
"I never said that." Izuku calmly responded. "I just said that I'll vouch for you." His tail swished in the water. "You willingly came here to cause trouble and hurt children, of course they'll be wary of you at first."
Lionfish scoffed. "And your word is supposed to help with that?" He retorted with skepticism. "Get real kid, the moment the pros arrive, we'll be attacked." Some grunts murmured to each other in agreement.
Izuku's stance shifted a bit, this guy's going to cause trouble. "Not if I speak up." He can certainly count on them being open-minded based on how they treated him despite his past. "I understand the distrust, but believe me, these guys aren't like other pros you've most likely encountered."
"It won't matter kid." Lionfish cut him off with a glare. "Some of us here are wanted killers." He waved his hand as Izuku frowned at the information. "I don't know about the rest, but I'm guessing they did some stuff to be here with the rest of us." He then chuckled darkly. "And besides, Shigaraki warned us about desertion and the consequences for it." Unbeknownst to them, most became uncomfortable at the reminder.
The teen's frown deepened as he went silent for a moment and mentally concluded that the name must belong to the hand villain he saw. If that's the case, that would mean that these people were given no choice but to join the attack.
So, for most of them to just… accept the offer just for the sake of hurting people meant that there wasn't much room for redemption.
After gathering his thoughts, he stared at the villain. "Fine." He then eyed the other grunts. "But the offer still stands to those who give a damn about their lives." His form sparked as he went into a fighting stance. "If you've got reason in you, step aside and let us fight." He warned in a cold tone, causing some to not meet his gaze.
Lionfish grinned maliciously as a few laughed dangerously. "Sounds good kid." His poisonous spines tensed for combat as the other prepared to attack. "This fight's for the real warriors." He said before suddenly dashing forward at high speed. "ATTACK!"
"Your choice." Izuku replied in a hardened tone before firing light blades at him.
Rather than dodging, Lionfish pushed forward in anger despite the slashes being inflicted. "Come on! Fight me head on coward!" He positioned the poison fins on his arms to attack as he neared.
However, the moment he got close, Izuku dashed below the villain with his horns glowing, surprising him. "And let those get near me?" He'd seen his fair share of nature documentaries to know what Lionfishes do.
His horns then fired an electric beam that scored a direct hit on Lionfish, surging electricity through him. "No thanks." After the attack, the villain looked a bit burned and unresponsive, but thankfully alive. So, the young hero followed up with a powerful tail whip to the torso, sending the villain to the surface. "You had your chance." He muttered before focusing on the other attackers.
As the battle went on, in the deeper parts of the water where it's darkest, Swordfish watched the young hero fight with hate in his eyes. How dare this brat throw them around like they were nothing and how dare he offer them peace when he knew damn well they'll be arrested on the spot.
Did he think they were fools!? There's absolutely no way those damn heroes would be willing to make deals without screwing them over! How low were these people willing to go just to put us in chains!?
"I'll show you what happens when you look down on us!" Swordfish gritted his teeth and focused on the fight. From what he could remember, the teen had no eyes but could still fight them as if he did. Which means, he had a way of seeing them.
He guessed it could be related to those rotating horns, but it could also be related to his electricity somehow. Either way, the kid was a problem and needed to go.
A head-on fight isn't viable and from what he was able to see in Hanzo's fight, a power battle was ill-advised, especially with a basic quirk like his.
Which left him to wait in the dark water, doing his best to not be noticed. Stance and blade ready to swoop in and stab the teen, preferably through the heart. You could be All Might for all he cared, but there's no way you can survive without a heart!
He even had to hold himself back a few times when it looked like he had an opening. Failure wasn't an option here; one wrong move and he's fried (literally in this case).
When Izuku focused on a charging grunt, Swordfish decided that he had waited enough and darted forward at great speed. "This is it!" He steadied his blade. "YOU'RE DEAD!" He grinned with manic glee.
After dodging and grabbing the charging grunt by the neck with his tail, Izuku noted the speeding attacker on his radar. "?" After electrocuting the grunt he grabbed and releasing him, he prepared to counterattack before another speeding attacker entered his radar. "A pincer attack huh? Alright." His mouth glowed as he looked down.
Swordfish tensed but didn't stop. "Now or never!" He screamed as he increased his speed, ready to dodge the teen's attacks.
But just as Izuku was about to fire, he was stunned when it was revealed that the second attacker was Tsuyu who delivered a powerful kick to the villain's face. "GUGHH!" He exclaimed before he was pushed away, unconscious and with some broken teeth.
"Tsuyu!?" Izuku exclaimed in surprise before smiling. "It's so good to see you!" He turned to focus on the remaining villains. "Are you alright?"
After putting her back to him, she glanced at his wound. "I should be the one asking that." Her blunt retort caused him to chuckle. "But I'm fine, and I would have been here sooner..." She focused on the villains, who are even more nervous now that there are two of them. "If it weren't for these guys." In a flash she shot her tongue out, whipping a guy's wrist, making him yelp in pain and drop a knife. "And I'm not the only one here." She said after retracting her tongue returned. "Mineta's here too, I left him on the boat after I saw you fall in."
"That's good." Izuku exclaimed in relief as he shocked two grunts with his horns' electric beam. "We'll regroup there." He glanced at her as she hummed in agreement. "Thanks for the assist."
Tsuyu croaked as she looked up the number of floating unconscious grunts. "I think you had it covered even if I wasn't here." The screams and flashes earlier were clear indicators of this. "But were you seriously trying to convince them to switch sides?" She inquired with a curious glance at him.
"Heard that huh?" The OFA user chuckled as he slapped a guy away with his tail. "I know it sounds cheesy, but I'm the type of guy that likes to offer redemption if it's viable." He shrugged as he faced the threats again. "What kind of hero would I be if I didn't try to offer an alternative?" His form crackled with power. "I know I can't redeem everyone, I'm not naive, certain folks just can't be forgiven, but I'd like to try for those who have a better chance of change." He calmly added.
Tsuyu stared at him for a moment, taking the time to digest his words before facing the enemy again. "You're one of a kind Midoriya." She'd have to ponder more on his words after this was all over.
"Thanks." Izuku chortled and eyed the remaining grunts for a moment before getting an idea after noting that there weren't any ranged fighters left. "Sorry for the random question, but how high is your dive height?"
Tsuyu paused before answering. "Pretty high." Her quirk gave her a significant water advantage after all. "Why do you ask?
To this, the OFA user moved his tail beside her, drawing her attention to it. "I've got an idea on how to end this fight in an instant." He allowed his appendage to spark a little.
The frog teen blinked, confused for a moment before her eyes widened a bit in realization. "I think I understand." She smiled a little. "Just give me the signal."
Izuku nodded and smiled daringly at the grunts. "Is this the best you guys can do?" He spread his arms wide. "Where's that confidence earlier? Didn't you guys want to commit to being villains rather than being redeemed?" He taunted.
One grunt, a type of shark, growled in irritation. "Easy for you to say when you have lighting brat!" His fellow villains yelled in agreement.
"Did you forget your numbers?" Izuku retorted with an incredulous tone. "Are you going to let some kid take you down?" He said in an amused tone.
A fish grunt clenched his fists, his pride taking a hit. "You've got a mouth on you kid." He said in a dangerous tone. "It's going to get you in trouble."
"I've already been in trouble since the fight started." Izuku retorted before chuckling, his smug tone angering them. "Then again, that guy earlier was the only one that made it a challenge." He shrugged. "You guys were just cannon fodder." Tsuyu held back a giggle, she guessed he learned a thing or two from Bakugou.
At that last remark, a catfish villain felt something in her snap. "THAT'S IT!" Her outburst got everyone's attention. "I've had it with this bullshit!" She swam forward in anger. "Stop being cowards and let's rush this brat and his friend!" The others agreed and allowed their anger and desperate frustration to cloud their judgment as they charged.
"Get ready." Izuku whispered, getting a nod from Tsuyu as she watched his tail and concentrated.
The duo watched as the surrounding villains steadily shortened the distance, all the while screaming and promising pain.
And though tense, the teens managed to keep their composure and waited for the right moment until the villains reached the threshold of no return. "Now!" With swiftness, the duo faced each other with Izuku's tail ready. Without wasting any time Tsuyu placed her feet on the appendage.
"Have fun!" With 3% OFA, Izuku launched her upwards, the action surprising the villains but didn't deter them from their charge.
As his friend traveled, the OFA user turned to the charging villains as the sparks on his form increased while he put his arms together. "Time to end this…" His sparks became erratic as he spread his arms wide, sending a pulse of electricity. "DISCHARGE PULSE!" He roared.
Catfish's eyes widened as she realized her error but was helpless as the pulse passed through all of them, sending painful shocks through them that stunned them in place.
Those who were away from the pulse's path were still hit by electric arcs from the other electrified villains which caused a chain of electricity to spread throughout the mob, shocking and stunning everyone, and filling the water with their screams.
As the light from the attack died down, the teen floated in the middle, panting as he looked at the scene. All the villains floated around, unconscious and a little burned, their faces expressing pain.
Izuku let out a triumphant roar before turning his attention to Tsuyu who just entered the water in perfect form. "Had fun?" He asked in a joking tone.
"A little." Tsuyu admitted with a hint of humor in her voice. "I even got a good view of the light show from above." He chuckled as she watched the villains float up. "Though I doubt they can return the sentiment."
Izuku chortled with a nod. "True." He looked up to the defeated villains who were beginning to scatter due to the current. "They'll be out for a while, but I think it's best to bundle them up in case one of them wakes up and tries to escape." Tsuyu nodded in agreement as she thought about it. "But how?"
"We can help with that."
With a jolt, Tsuyu turned to the voice in alert while Izuku calmly addressed the voice, revealing it to be the Seaweed woman earlier accompanied by three others. "I was wondering when you were going to approach." He chuckled. "Thankfully I was able to minimize the radius of my attack." He said in a friendly tone. "And having a radar certainly helped."
"Much appreciated kid." The woman said in a grateful tone before she rubbed the back of her head, looking awkward like the others. "Listen…about what you said earlier…"
Izuku raised a calming hand to stop her. "The offer stands." He then tilted his head, giving her a knowing look. "I'm guessing what I said got through to all of you?"
"We came here to vandalize, spook some folks and maybe get some money." A Dolphin grunt cut in, gaining their attention. "The four of us didn't agree to kill or maim kids, we have standards, unlike the others." He crossed his arms with a look of outrage. "Not that it mattered, Shigaraki threatened death or worse if we backed out." He added with an annoyed click.
The OFA user hummed; he'll have to remember to bring that up with the teachers later. "I figured that that was the case." He looked up at the beaten villains. "After we wrap them up, you guys can keep an eye on them while staying low until help arrives." He gestured to his classmate who was stunned by the turn of events. "Tsuyu and I will head to the boat where our classmate is. From there, we'll try to regroup with the others."
"Sounds like a solid plan." Seaweed agreed with a sigh as she showed off her hair. "My quirk's pretty durable and can be detached, should be able to hold them for a while." She demonstrated by pulling a strand before it was immediately replaced by another one.
While holding back the urge to nerd out about her quirk, Izuku smiled. "That's an amazing ability." His words earned a proud grin from her. "With how hard I hit them earlier, we won't have to worry about a struggle." She nodded in agreement and was about to tell the others to start gathering the villains.
"I'll help." Tsuyu's words caused them to look at her in surprise. "While I don't fully trust any of you yet…I'm willing to give it a chance if Midoriya believes it." Her words earned a smile from her friend, which she returned.
Seaweed nodded with a grateful grin. "Thanks, kid." She then looked up with a sigh as her hair extended to the closest bodies. "There goes my street cred." While she said that, she didn't appear to be too bothered about it.
"Better than your soul." A Pufferfish grunt scoffed. "I'd rather lose that than sleep over killing kids." He said before swimming up to gather bodies that were further away with Dolphin.
The last guy, a type of shark, hummed with a nod. "I'll drink to that." He said before going to the other side.
Tsuyu was about to swim up as Izuku spoke. "Hey, Tsuyu?" She paused to look at him curiously. "Thanks for giving them a chance." He rubbed his arm. "I know it isn't an easy decision to make and-"
"You don't have to explain." She calmly interrupted with a calming hand. "I've seen enough to know that I can put my trust in you." She smiled kindly at him. "And I believe the others feel the same." She said before continuing her swim up.
Izuku was stunned for a moment before smiling warmly. "I never did ask." He turned to the Seaweed villain who was focused on her task but was listening. "What's your name?"
She was silent for a moment before speaking. "Let's stick with Seaweed for now, it's nothing personal, I just don't feel comfortable casually sharing my name." She calmly explained.
Izuku hummed in understanding. "I get it." He swam close to place a hand on her shoulder, drawing her curious gaze to him. "Well, 'Seaweed', thank you." He patted her shoulder with an earnest smile before swimming up to help Tsuyu. "You and the others might think you're irredeemable, but from what I can see, you've all got a better chance than you think."
Seaweed watched him go in shock before snapping out of it to focus on her task. Internally grateful for the silence to ponder on the recent events and the teen's words.
MEANWHILE-USJ GROUNDS-RUINS ZONE
"I can't believe we did that!" Kirishima exclaimed in anger as he knocked out a villain with a hardened punch. "I'm such an idiot!"
After blasting two people away, Bakugou huffed. "You're not the only one." Needless to say, both had quickly figured out that their rash assault earlier complicated the issue.
"Then die with regrets brat!" A grunt yelled as he charged at them with a sword.
But Kirishima wasn't intimidated and quite literally met the weapon head-on with his hardened forehead, snapping it in two and shocking the villain. "W-WHA-!?" He was cut off with a hardened punch to the gut before being knocked back by an uppercut to the chin.
Bakugou blasted over a grunt before blasting his back, making him scream in pain and falling face first on the ground. "Don't underestimate us!" He barked.
The red-haired teen rammed a grunt, making him grimace as his nails extended into claws. "Damn runt!" He attempted to plunge them into the young hero, only to be met with sparks as the quirk failed to penetrate the surface. He was then slammed against a wall, cracking it a bit from the impact and knocking him out.
While this happened, Bakugou dodged a pipe swing and blasted the attacker's chest, sending him flying back before kicking an invisible attacker's stomach behind him.
While the villain groaned in pain as he turned visible while holding his stomach, Kirishima rushed in and grappled him. Lifting him for a moment before slamming the man on the ground, cracking the surface a little.
"Nice." Bakugou exclaimed in approval before calmly dodging a metal pipe and punching the villain's jaw, staggering him. "Buzz off!" He brought his hands together and blasted the villain away, the latter flying back with a scream before crashing through the door.
With smoke out of his palms, Bakugou surveyed the scene, when no one else appeared he lowered his stance with a sigh. "What a pain." He cracked his neck. "So, scattering us was the plan huh?"
"Looks that way." Kirishima agreed as he turned off his quirk with a huff. "We need to find the others, who knows how much trouble they're in." While he didn't doubt his classmates' capabilities, his concern for their wellbeing was overwhelming.
Bakugou said nothing and crossed his arms to think. After a moment, he shook his head. "No." Kirishima snapped at him with a look of disbelief. "Our top priority should be that warp bastard." He looked out the window with a scowl.
"Are you kidding me dude?" The red-haired teen exclaimed with an incredulous look. "Our friends just got scattered and you're worried about settling scores!?" Is he seriously letting his pride get the better of him?
Knowing what he was thinking, the blond shot him an irritated look. "Think for a second you idiot!" The red-haired teen took a step back from the outburst as he pointed to the window. "That bastard is the villain's quick ticket out of here." He spread his arms. "Even if we regroup, they'll just scatter us again." He smacked his hands together while emitting a small explosion. "With him out of the picture, we won't have to deal with that bullshit again!"
After hearing the explanation, Kirishima considered his logic for a moment before speaking. "It's really risky." Especially after their last encounter. "But…" He eventually nodded with a grin. "It's better than having no plan at all." He then frowned. "But what about the others?"
"They'll be fine." Bakugou's casual response earned a curious look from him. "Based on how these weaklings fought, I'm sure they can handle it." He looked down and kicked an unconscious villain's ribs, earning a pained groan. "Besides, the way I see it, these guys are fodder for the bigger threats we saw in the plaza." Even if the hand guy looked scrawny, he could tell he was just as troubling as Bird Face and that Warp Bastard.
While troubled at the fact that there were bigger threats present, Kirishima was impressed. "Nice to know you have faith in us bro." He placed a hand on his shoulder with a grin.
"Don't push it." Bakugou calmly pulled his shoulder away, earning a chuckle from the hardening user. "If my hunch is right, this whole building is swarming with these extras." He glanced at the broken door. "Who is most likely on their way here after hearing our fight." He cracked his knuckles. "As much as I want to crush them, we can't waste energy fighting them, so we'll have to rush through them until we get out of here." He glanced out the window with a scowl. "We'll just lose them outside and find the warp guy from there."
Kirishima gaped at him in amazement before forming a wide grin. "Damn…" The blond glanced at him. "I forget how calm and calculative you can be." He praised with a thumbs up.
A tick mark formed on Bakugou's head as he glared at him. "I'M ALWAYS CALM AND CALCULATIVE YOU DUMBASS!" A few items in the room shook a bit from his outburst.
"There it is." The red-haired teen sweatdropped with a crooked grin. "Sure bro." His awkward response earned an indignant huff from the blond.
After calming down, Bakugou waved a hand. "Whatever. Let's just get out of here and take that guy out!" He ran to the door. "We're wasting time as it is!"
"W-Wait for me!" Kirishima stammered as he ran after him.
USJ GROUNDS-SHIPWRECK ZONE-BOAT
"A-Are you sure it's a good idea to leave those guys in charge?" Mineta nervously asked as he eyed the railing of the boat as if expecting an attack.
Tsuyu nodded. "They didn't show any signs of betraying us when we rounded up the villains and they sounded genuine when we spoke to them." She tilted her head and placed a finger on her chin. "But if you'd like, we can bring you there so you can talk to them." She bluntly offered.
Mineta suddenly looked fearful and frantically waved his hands. "I-I'm good, I'll trust your decision." He nervously glanced at the nearby door. "How's Midoriya?" Even if he wasn't a doctor, that cut on his arm looked bad.
"I don't know." Tsuyu also looked at the door with a curious look. "He didn't tell me what he was going to do, so I'm just as lost as you are." Although she wasn't good at showing it, she genuinely hoped that her friend was going to be ok. Especially after catching a glimpse of how deep his compassion is.
Just then, the sound of something shutting down resounded in the area, causing Mineta to fearfully look around. "What was that!?" Were they getting double-crossed!?
"Sorry, that would be me."
Turning to the voice, they saw Izuku standing in front of the door in his Eleking form, emitting sparks. "Apart from discharging, this form can let me absorb electricity, so I wanted to see if it can help me heal my arm." He showed his arm, which looked better but a noticeable mark is still seen. "While it does work, the boat didn't have enough power to fully heal it so it's a bit tender." He then shrugged with a sheepish smile. "Plus, it's my first time so I don't know how to do it efficiently without draining everything."
"That's amazing Midoriya." Tsuyu commented with an approving look while Mineta was starstruck. "Maybe we can practice some underwater maneuvers sometime."
After turning back to normal, Izuku grinned and rubbed his sleeve-covered arm to ease the itching from the healing. "Sure, I'm down for some sparring. And I'm pretty sure Toga's been eager to try Eleking out."
"Sounds like a fun time." Tsuyu smiled before glancing at the water with a frown. "But back to our problem." Izuku's expression became serious as well while Mineta listened. "It's hard to believe that so many villains would risk everything to come here." Even if some of them were coerced into doing it.
Izuku hummed in agreement. "I know what you mean." He leaned on the railing with a sigh. "According to Seaweed, Shigaraki conducted this raid with the sole purpose of killing All Might." He tightened his grip on the railing.
"B-But how can that be?" Mineta cut in, his voice laced with disbelief and fear. "All Might's always brushed off every villain he's faced!" The idea of someone taking down All Might sounded insane to him.
Tsuyu croaked, grabbing their attention. "Mineta, the villains would be fools to come here without a solid plan, especially knowing that the pros and All Might will be here." She gave him her usual expression but you could faintly tell she was tense. "What would be the point of coming here if they didn't have a way to accomplish the mission?"
Mineta took a step back in fear, the full impact of the situation dawning on him. "B-But…" His words died in his throat as he grabbed his head in despair.
Izuku held back a growl. "And I think I know how they'll do it." The two looked at him. "A while back, Toga, Bakugou, and I saw three people in the plaza who were different from the rest." His eyes narrowed at the memory. "One of them must be Shigaraki, while the other two are the warp guy and one huge villain."
He turned to them; his expression grim. "While I don't know what Shigaraki can do, I'm guessing the key to their mission would be the warp villain and the big bruiser." He placed a hand on his chin. "I'm not sure how they'll do it, but I can tell that they'll have an advantage since All Might doesn't have a way to counter warp abilities." Maybe his mentor could use a powerful air punch, but even that could be warped away if the villain was fast enough.
Tsuyu was silent before sighing. "I hate to say it, but it's possible." It made sense too, All Might can't be beaten with raw power, you'd need something else, and warp powers could work in several ways.
"No way…" Mineta gulped as his classmate's hypothesis sounded plausible. "W-What do we do?" He looked up to his classmate with a hopeful expression.
Izuku crossed his arms, his expression scrunched up in thought. His gaze shifted between the other simulation areas he could see and took the time to focus on the direction of the plaza, imagining the battle Aizawa must be having.
He then stared in the direction of the stairs. And after a few more moments of thought, he nodded to himself. "Tsuyu." The girl stood ready. "Since there aren't any threats here anymore, you and Mineta can swim quietly to the left side of this pool and make your way to the stair entrance." He looked beyond the boundary of the pool. "You can use those small patches of trees as cover, once you reach the stairs, you can scale the wall with Mineta on your back and meet up with the others." From what he'd observed from the battle trial, she shouldn't have a problem with carrying the small teen up the wall.
As Mineta was stunned by his composure and planning, Tsuyu contemplated before speaking. "Kero, how do we know the others are still up there?"
"I know they will." Izuku answered without a doubt. "Before I was warped away, I managed to save Toga and saw the others doing the same for whoever they could." He grinned. "And if my hunch is right, they would have fought off that warp guy with Thirteen's help." His expression turned serious. "Even if that isn't the case, we still need to regroup there and leave as Aizawa told us to." His expression hardened. "And if we have to fight that warp guy again to do it then so be it."
Mineta looked nervous while Tsuyu nodded in agreement. "Agreed." She then tilted her head curiously. "But what about you?"
To this, he wore a daring grin as he pointed a thump to his chest. "I'm going to the other zones and help our classmates." They were taken aback by this. "It's obvious that they scattered us to focus on the pros." He crossed his arms. "They might need backup and a direction to go to." He looked to the other zones, planning possible flight routes that would allow him to reach their friends and scout the area without the villains at the plaza seeing him.
"Isn't that risky?" Mineta chimed in nervously, gaining their attention. "Won't it be safer to travel together?"
Izuku considered his point before shaking his head. "Not in this case, you'd be drawing less attention and have an easier time to hide. And with no communications, we have no idea what kind of situations the others are in, so I should check it out." He crossed his arms as they thought about it. "Besides, we have an advantage." His words drew intrigued looks. "They don't know about our quirks."
"What do you mean?" Mineta inquired in confusion.
He tapped his head. "Think about it, if they knew about our quirks." He gestured to Tsuyu. "They would have sent Tsu somewhere where her quirk wouldn't work so well." The simple fact that she was here spoke volumes of the lack of information.
"That would make a lot of sense. I'd have a harder time if I was in the Fire Zone." Tsuyu chimed in, gaining their attention. "The ones who planned this must have prioritized the pros and All Might." She shrugged. "As far as they're concerned, we're just helpless collateral." Mineta gulped at her words but was internally insulted at being underestimated.
Izuku nodded. "Exactly." He grinned. "Without complete knowledge of our abilities, we're essentially a wildcard in their plan." He faced away from them and looked in the direction of the nearby Mountain Zone. "But regardless of this, I still need to check on the others and tell them where to go." His expression turned determined. "It's risky, but it's the best we can do right now."
Mineta looked uncertain while Tsuyu debated on what to do before sighing. "I don't like it, but we need to know how everyone's doing." She walked up to him to place a hand on his shoulder. "Just be sure to be careful Midoriya." Mineta walked to his other side and said the same.
Izuku patted her hand and sent them a kind smile. "I'll try to." He winked knowingly. "Can't promise total safety with villains around." Especially after their recent fight.
Tsuyu stared at him before sighing again with a nod. "I guess not." She conceded while removing her hand. "Come on Mineta, we've wasted enough time." The short teen nodded and followed, gaping when she turned her back to him to lower herself for him to get on.
"Oh, and Mineta?"
The short teen stopped to look at Izuku curiously who was staring at him intently, prompting Tsuyu to watch with intrigue. "I know we've all got our… urges." The instincts that came with his quirk can attest to this. "But this is a Life and Death situation." He turned away from them. "If you're weak enough to give in to your perviness to try something on our friend…" He shifted into Bemstar. "She won't be the only one you'll have to worry about." He glanced at him, his sharp gaze boring into him while emanating a few sparks. "Understood?"
While considerably pale, Mineta nodded rapidly as he shook while behind him, Tsuyu gave the tall teen a grateful look. "Thank you."
Izuku nodded to her with a smile before taking to the skies while Tsuyu returned to her original position as Mineta fearfully approached, much to her internal amusement.
USJ GROUNDS-MOUNTAIN ZONE
"On your right!" Kaminari called out in worry.
With quick movement, Momo looked at the attacking villain before stabbing him in the stomach with her metal staff, making him gasp and hold his stomach. She then followed up by smacking his face with the weapon, making him fall to the side unconscious. "Thank you, Kaminari!"
After blasting three people away with a soundwave thanks to her quirk being applied to sound amplifiers on her legs, Jiro gave him an annoyed glance. "Feel free to help us anytime!"
After dodging an attacking grunt that Momo knocked out, Kaminari looked at her. "I can't without risking your safety!" He showed his hands as it sparked. "If I go all out, then I'll end up hitting both of you!" He exclaimed.
With growing annoyance at the information, Jiro quickly made her way to him as she got an idea. "Then don't go all out!" He looked in her direction in confusion before becoming alarmed at her demeanor. "Be precise!" She exclaimed before kicking him forward, much to his shock and confusion.
A charging grunt saw this and became confused. "What the?" He managed to catch the tumbling teen but immediately regretted it as electricity surged through his body.
Kaminari went to yell at her but was immediately amazed by what he was doing. "Wow! I didn't know I could do that!" He then gave her a happy grin and a thumbs up as he separated from the grunt, making him fall on his back unconscious and a little burned. "You can count on me!" He exclaimed, oblivious to a grunt running at him with his rock-covered arm raised.
Jiro however, did and gritted her teeth. "You're too carefree!" She fired another soundwave the shattered the rocks just as the villain's fist made contact with the electric user's head when he turned to him, shocking him in the process. "Take this more seriously!"
"Don't look down on us!" A reptilian villain screamed before lunging at them from an impressive height.
Momo quickly made a net and threw it at the villain. The latter panicked as it caught him before he fell on the other villain, which shocked him as well. "Take the fight seriously!" She chastised in a stern tone.
Jiro nodded as she got into her stance while Kaminari, who now sported a blackeye from being punched, gave her a pained thumbs up as the two villains fell on the ground, twitching in pain.
"Don't leave an opening!" A porcupine villain called out as the other grunts yelled in agreement as they encircled the trio.
Kaminari blanched as he noted how boxed in they were. "Any ideas?" He muttered as a few grunts began to chuckle at his dismay.
Jiro looked uncertain while Momo thought for a moment before something came to her. "I've got it!" She crouched low as her back glowed before a massive thick sheet emerged, surprising everyone. "Jiro, with me! Kaminari, stay where you are!" The punk teen shook off her stupor and followed while the electric user obeyed but was internally fearful.
"A sheet?" Porcupine exclaimed in confusion before laughing. "This isn't your bedroom you runts!" He sneered. "The monsters aren't going away even if you hide under the covers!" His words brought out mocking laughter from the villains.
But despite this, Momo remained calm. "Then it's a good thing we're not hiding!" She looked at Kaminari with a knowing smile while the villains became confused. "Now's your chance to go all out!" She called out before concealing themselves within the sheet.
Kaminari blinked in confusion before realization dawned on him as he formed a cocky smirk. "Thanks, Momo!" He stared at the villains with a dangerous look as he sparked. "Time to show you all how strong I am!" He raised his arms as he focused electricity into them before slamming his palms on the ground. "Indiscriminate Shock!" He yelled as electricity surged through the ground.
With dawning horror, the villains tried to move but were too slow as their forms lit up with electricity, filling the area with screams and intense lights.
After the attack ended, the aftermath was the villains standing in place, emitting smoke as they groaned in pain before falling to the ground unconscious.
From within the sheet, Momo takes a peek before smiling in triumph at the scene. "Thanks to this special sheet…" She raised the sheet a little to take in the scene fully. "We're in the clear!"
"Wow…" Jiro muttered in astonishment as she inspected the deceptively thick sheet. "This is amazing." Her gaze slowly moved to her friend. "But how did you-WOAH!" She screamed before looking away while covering her eyes in embarrassment.
Momo gave her an odd look, oblivious to the fact that her plan had resulted in the top half of her costume being torn open, exposing her…umm…modesty. "What's wrong?" She asked innocently as she fully faced her.
Jiro cringed and averted her gaze further. "U-Ummm…" She hesitated before just going for it. "Look down!" She squeaked out with a tone of panic and embarrassment as her jacks twitched.
The creation user did just that before immediately paling and covering her chest with a horrified scream as Kaminari began to approach them.
Jiro noticed and winced. "O-Oi Kaminari!" She raised her hand to him. "Don't look this way!" She sternly ordered as the creation user hastily went to create her costume's top.
To her confusion, however, he did as ordered without replying. "Huh?" The punk teen exclaimed before noting how weird his stride was. "What's…?"
"H-He short-circuited." Momo stammered as she fixed her vest and discarded her torn one. "I remember hearing him mention losing brain power if he uses his quirk too much." She added as her composure returned.
Jiro was taken aback by the information before staring at Kaminari as he wandered around while maintaining a double thumbs up. When he turned to face them, she snickered about seeing his thoughtless face. "Fitting." She chuckled while Momo giggled.
Suddenly, a roar was heard, snapping the two in alert. "More villains?" The punk teen questioned as they exited the sheet and prepared for a fight.
Momo surveyed the area with caution. "I'm not sure." She turned to her. "We should grab Kaminari before-"
They staggered as something crashed in the middle of the defeated villains and produced a large dust cloud. "Too late." Jiro readied her amps while Momo readied her staff.
As the dust settled, they were shocked to see Bemstar straighten his posture. "M-Midoriya?" Momo nervously called out, having never seen the form yet.
Upon hearing the voice, Izuku snapped in their direction. "Momo! Jiro!" He ran to them as he shifted to normal. "Are you alright?"
"We're fine." Jiro answered as she and Momo lowered their stances in relief. "How did you find us?"
Izuku chortled. "Pretty hard to miss the flashy lights and screaming." He looked around with a whistle. "Seems like you two handled yourselves well." He remarked with a grin.
While Jiro became a little embarrassed by the praise, Momo returned the smile. "Thank you, but it wasn't all our doing."
"Really?" Izuku tilted his head in confusion. "Then what-?" Something bumped his back. "?" He glanced back to see a familiar hairstyle. "Kaminari!" That explained the flashing lights. "Nice work with-huh?" As he turned to address the electric user, he was greeted by a clueless face.
Without skipping a beat, Kaminari flashed him a thumbs up. "Yay~!" He droned out with a goofy smile.
Izuku just stared before turning to Momo who was rubbing the bridge of her nose while Jiro covered her mouth as she laughed. "His mind short-circuited from quirk overuse." She explained while trying to contain her smile.
"Ah." The OFA user nodded in understanding and made a mental note to add to his notes later. "Hmmm, I think I have a way to help him." His classmates were intrigued before becoming surprised when he shifted into Eleking. "Kaminari, could you hold this?" He kindly asked while lifting his tail to him.
You could tell that the mental gears were barely functioning as Kaminari slowly blinked at the appendage before comprehending the request. "Oh." He lamely grabbed it with both hands before looking at him like a hopeful dog. "Yay?"
Izuku's lip twitched up but he managed to hold it together. "Yes, Kaminari, yay." His friend beamed from the praise, causing Jiro to snort into her hand while Momo looked away with a giggle. "Now, hold still, this'll only be a moment." His form began to spark.
Kaminari was enthralled by the display before gasping in surprise when Izuku sent an electric pulse that traveled from his head to tail.
In an instant, the blond staggered back while holding his head. "Whoa!" He composed himself before looking at him, expression carrying confused awe. "What did you do?" Momo and Jiro also looked to the teen, eager for answers.
Izuku shrugged. "You were a battery out of power." He waved his tail which produced a few sparks. "All I did was give you some juice to function." It was simple logic after all.
While Jiro and Momo looked impressed, Kaminari chuckled with glee. "Looks like I know who to turn to when I'm out of options for recharge." He raised his fist to him. "Thanks, but how did you get here?"
After bumping his fist with his, Izuku was about to explain before tensing. "?" He looked back and stared at a certain spot on the ground. "Wait here." His classmates were confused but agreed as he moved away from them and turned into Telesdon, but unlike the female variant, this one sported frills with spikes on the tips. "I'll be quick." He added before burrowing underground.
With the teen gone, Kaminari turned to the two. "What was that all about?" Jiro just shrugged while Momo stared at the hole in curiosity.
But just before they could speak, the area shook as something punched through the ground. Looking to the source they saw that it was Izuku rotating at high speed and in front of him was another villain who screamed from the impact. "Drill Formation Attack!" He roared before changing his course while the villain helplessly fell to the ground.
After adjusting his course again, he skidded to a stop on the ground and caught the villain in his arms. "W-Who's he!?" Kaminari exclaimed in surprise as he and the others approached.
"My guess is another villain." Izuku responded before lowering the man to the ground. "He was probably waiting for an opportunity to attack and listening to our conversation." He flipped the man over, showing the equipment on his back that was destroyed from his attack. "And based on the gear on his back, jamming our communications too."
At that, Kaminari immediately checked his communicator, eyes widening upon noticing how clear it was. "He's right! I can call for help now!" He wore a bright grin.
Momo was more than happy to hear that. "Try to contact U.A., with luck they'll be able to send help right away." The blond nodded as he went to work. "Jiro, use your quirk and monitor for any other villains that may attack us." The musical teen nodded and crouched to plug her jacks on the ground. "Midoriya, I assume there's a reason as to why you're flying around?" The tall teen nodded. "Ok, lay it on us." Without delay, he explained what's happened on his end so far and his plan.
MEANWHILE-USJ GROUNDS-PLAZA
With a furious roar, Nomu went to punch Aizawa who barely managed to avoid it. The latter then used his quirk on the behemoth as he made some distance.
But like before, the monster showed no signs of weakness as he effortlessly pulled out a large chunk of the ground before throwing it at the pro.
Aizawa gritted his teeth and rolled away from the projectile before running from the beast again. "I'm sure I erased his quirk." He jumped to the side to avoid being crushed by the beast's fists. "Which means, he's just that physically strong." He grimaced as Nomu stared at him while freeing his fists.
As the chase went on, Tomura watched in impressed amusement. "You're truly something else Aizawa." He clapped mockingly. "Showing no fear while being chased by an unstoppable monster." He chuckled before sighing. "Which is a shame, it would have been nice to have you on our side."
The erasure hero held back a curse but ignored the madman in favor of avoiding being turned to mush. "Brute force obviously won't work and my quirk might as well be doing nothing to him." Using his capture weapon wasn't an option either, Nomu would most likely tear it apart like wet paper or maybe even fling him around with it.
Tomura's laughter from his evident struggle was interrupted when the warp villain appeared beside him. "You're just in time Kurogiri, we're about to witness the death of an underground hero." He said in a malicious jovial tone.
Kurogiri however, wasn't in the same mood as he stood there with uncertainty. "Master Shigaraki, Thirteen has been incapacitated." He lowered his gaze as the leader glanced at him. "But a student managed to escape." He said with shame and regret.
Tomura said nothing before raising his hand, and in an instant, Nomu stopped attacking and stood in place. Allowing Aizawa to take a moment to catch his breath and take in what he heard. And while he's glad someone managed to escape to call for help, he feared for his fellow pro's condition.
"Kurogiri…" The warp villain flinched but looked to his leader who began to scratch his neck. "If you weren't our ticket out of here…" His scratching increased in speed and intensity. "I would have dusted you on the spot!" He snarled in fury.
After a few intense moments of scratching, Tomura eventually slowed with a sigh. "Luckily for you…" He lowered his hands. "I had a contingency plan for this scenario." He glared at the warp villain, freezing him in place. "Even if the pros are on their way, they'll have decoys to deal with." He formed a sickening smile. "Which means that All Might will be the only one to make it." He let out a dark laugh.
Aizawa cursed, knowing that he was right. Nezu would most likely tell All Might to continue while they dealt with the villains. His gaze then shifted to Nomu who looked like a statue from how still he was. He could go for the head, but getting a clear hit on the eyes or brain was next to impossible with how fast the beast proved to be.
Meanwhile, Kurogiri was visibly relieved that his blunder wasn't costly. "But…" He tensed again as his master spoke. "Do better next time." He advised with eyes that promised death.
"Y-Yes master!" Kurogiri stammered with a bow, thankful for his mercy.
Tomura was pleased by the display but was still peeved by the report. "Last chance Eraser." He glared at the man. "I'm giving you one last chance to join us."
Aizawa could tell that he was being serious, but the answer was obvious. "No." He stood and braced himself, it was now or never.
"Fine." Tomura answered, not sounding remotely surprised. "Your funeral." He looked at the beast. "Nomu, continue the earlier attack." The beast roared and ran at the pro.
But rather than running, Aizawa did something unexpected and ran towards the beast. "Have you suddenly lost your mind, old man?" The leader mocked in surprise.
But the hero didn't reply and focused as Nomu raised his fists to crush him. When he was in range, Aizawa quickly slid forward and between the monster's legs, barely avoiding being smashed by the attack.
Not wasting any time, Aizawa used his agility to quickly stand and jump on Nomu's back as the latter was focused on pulling his fists free from the ground. "This is it!" He steadied himself, applied his quirk, and struck the beast's glass-covered brain.
Nomu roared at the action and before the hero could attempt to attack the glass again, freed one hand and grabbed the man's arm.
"Damn!" Aizawa grunted from the grip before he was helplessly swung on the ground, knocking the wind out of him as he bounced off the surface once before roughly landing to hold his arm in pain.
Tomura was openly laughing as he clapped. "Excellent form Eraser!" He sneered as the beast stomped towards the downed pro. "But Nomu was built to withstand blows from All Might, all you're doing is giving him a pat."
"Built?" Aizawa panted as he rolled on his stomach and steadily got on one knee to eye the monster, enduring the daze. "It's not even human?" That would certainly explain its lack of individuality. "If that's the case..." He staggered to his feet and tested his arm which was miraculously not dislocated. "Someone else is behind this?"
Tomura tilted his head, intrigued. "I'll give you credit, your spirit is admirable." He watched as the man prepared to fight again. "But ultimately futile." He added.
Nomu roared and charged at Aizawa again who reactivated his quirk before running from the beast. "I can't outrun him." He rolled away from a lethal smash. "And I can't stall him forever." No matter how you look at it, this fight is unwinnable.
Aizawa prepared to dodge another lunge but to his surprise, Nomu suddenly jumped away from him. "?" He narrowed his eyes before widening them when he heard rapid footsteps from behind.
The erasure hero rapidly turned to elbow strike at Shigaraki who had shortened the distance in a burst of speed. "How did he!?"
And to his shock, Shigaraki had caught the attack. "You're quite the hero Eraser…" He praised before gripping the elbow. "But I've had my fun." Cracks began to form on his elbow.
Aizawa acted quickly and delivered a powerful uppercut with his free hand and kicked the villain away before gaining some distance. "My arm's crumbling!" He steadied himself and held it with a grimace.
"You can erase quirks…" Tomura said as he got up and rubbed his chin. "But it's nothing special, especially once you figure out that your hair is connected to it." He stood with a bloodthirsty smile. "Your specialty is swift and stealth attacks, but right now?" He chuckled maliciously. "You might as well be quirkless."
Aizawa panted as the situation dawned on him. He glanced at his arm, the sleep now sporting a decayed surface, revealing a bleeding wound that had cracks in the area.
His gaze then lifted to Shigaraki who looked smug, believing that victory was his. Next to him, Kurogiri stared at him coldly, showing no remorse for his state, not that he expected any.
Aizawa steadied his breathing as he focused on Nomu. The latter still again but very much focused on him like a predator to its prey. And after a moment, his quirk activated as he readied his capture weapon.
The action caused Kurogiri to shake his head while Tomura laughed. "As you wish." He turned to the behemoth. "Nomu, take him down."
The beast let out an intense roar before charging at Aizawa who braced himself and tightened the grip on his weapon.
USJ GROUNDS-ENTRANCE AT THE TOP OF STAIRS
With a jolt, everyone looked around in alarm. "What was that!?" Mina exclaimed in surprise.
"I-I don't know." Toga stuttered as she thought about it. That didn't sound like anything Izuku transformed into so far and sounded too close. "It could be the big guy in the plaza."
Her comment earned surprise looks from her classmates. "Big guy?" Mezo inquired.
That's right, only four of them saw the plaza. "The villains brought a big guy with them." She rubbed her arm in discomfort. "A monstrous thing following someone covered in hands."
Sato grimaced at the description and looked to the entrance, mentally praying for help to arrive soon. "Sounds to me like they planned for this." Sero pointed out and put a hand on his chin with a hum. "But what could they be after?"
"No idea to be honest," Toga admitted with a frown. "But whatever it is must be big enough to risk attacking when pros are around." Her gaze shifted to Thirteen, hoping that her injuries weren't fatal.
Mina bit her lip. "Maybe they're doing it to make a statement?" It wouldn't be the first time a villain caused a ruckus for fame.
"Could be, but this feels like something bigger than reputation." Mezo added. "Why risk the full might of U.A., even All Might, just for that?" It sounded too simple.
At that, a tense silence followed as they tried to find the motive for this attack.
"Guys!"
Snapping to the voice, they were pleasantly surprised to see Tsuyu climbing over the side of the stairs with Mineta waving at them. "Midoriya was right, they did make it!"
While relieved her classmates were fine, Toga perked up and eagerly approached the two. "Izuku was with you?" She held Tsuyu's shoulders as the others approached behind her. "How is he?"
"We're fine by the way." Tsuyu's joking but blunt remark caused her to blush and stammer out an apology as she let her go. "It's ok, kero." She giggled while Mineta flashed her thumbs up. Frankly, it would have been surprising if Toga didn't react the way that she did. "As for Midoriya, he was handling things fine even if I didn't help him." Her blonde friend looked beyond relieved to hear that.
Mineta on the other hand was focused on something else. "I-Is she…?" He fearfully asked while pointing to Thirteen.
"No, just injured." The short teen sighed in relief from Ochako's words. "But where did you two end up?"
"We were sent to the Shipwreck Zone." The amphibian teen answered as she glanced to the side. "And from what Midoriya has deduced, the others are scattered to the other areas here."
"That's great!" Sato let out a breath and ran a hand through his hair with a relieved grin. "That misty guy earlier made it sound like you guys were in another dimension!" To know that their classmates were merely scattered in this place lifted a heavy weight from their shoulders.
Tsuyu smiled. "Nothing that dramatic." She then gestured to the other zones. "And according to Izuku, they have no idea how our quirks work, hence the random placement." She then frowned. "We're just obstacles for them compared to their main target."
Everyone listened intently as Mineta became uneasy. "All Might."
"All Might?" Mina repeated in surprise and disbelief. "How do you know he's their target?" And how could they even beat someone like him?
To this, the two glanced at each other for a moment before Tsuyu responded. "We'll explain later when this is over." Explaining that a couple of villains having a change of heart could be complicated and a waste of time for now. "What matters is that Midoriya is currently trying to link up with the others and having them meet here to continue the evacuation."
While beyond curious now, Toga opted to let it slide for now. "Then that's what we'll do." She then looked to the entrance. "Let's set up a rallying point near the entrance, that way we can leave immediately once-"
A loud thumping could be heard, startling them. "W-What was that!?" Mineta yelped as he looked around in fear.
Following the sound, Mezo pointed to the stairs. "It's coming from the plaza." Just as he said that it became silent before a powerful roar was heard, taking them aback.
"That's the same roar from earlier!" Mina exclaimed with nervousness.
Toga grimaced and glanced at the entrance again before sighing. "We need to know what's happening." They turned to her. "Ochako, you and Shoji move Thirteen near the entrance." She pointed to the stairs. "The rest of us will check out what's happening, you can join us when you think Thirteen is safe."
"Right." Ochako and Shoji went to move the heroine. "I know that they already know that we're here, but I think you guys should stay low while checking just in case." She added before the pair left.
Toga hummed in agreement. "Come on." The others nodded and followed, reluctantly in Mineta's case.
As they neared the stairs, they lowered themselves to the ground and crawled until they were close enough to see what was happening below.
And upon taking in the scene, they paled in disbelief. "No way…" Mina whispered in sickened despair while everyone could only watch in mute horror.
USJ GROUNDS-IN THE AIR
"Ok, with Momo and the others heading to the Fire Zone, I can focus on the farther places." Izuku's eyes gazed at the zones ahead, debating on which one he should start with. "Hmmm, I'll start with Squall Zone, that way they can link up with Momo while I go for the rest." He nodded to himself as he began to increase his speed.
A scream tore through the air.
Quickly stopping to hover in place, he began to look around. "?" He was sure there weren't any flying villains following him.
Another scream, prompting Izuku to follow the sound. After identifying that it was coming from the plaza, he flew higher and utilized his sharp vision to see what was going on.
Upon taking in the scene, his eyes widened in alarm before sharpening as he sped forward with a trail of sparks.
USJ GROUNDS-PLAZA
''Even now, you're still struggling.'' Tomura said with a tone of praise and amusement. ''Anyone in your spot would be begging for their life or resigned to their fate.'' He shrugged. ''But then again, most aren't like you.'' Next to him, Kurogiri said nothing but was inwardly impressed with the resolve.
The position that Tomura was referring to was the pro currently pinned to the ground on his stomach with his arm being bent back by the hulking beast over him. Aizawa grunted as he looked over his shoulder and applied his quirk again on Nomu who growled in response before bending the arm, making him scream before the beast coldly released his now dislocated arm, making it fall to the ground. ''It's like he's snapping twigs!'' He panted in a grimace. ''He's just that powerful!'' He couldn't even move his body because of how heavy this guy is.
Tomura shook his head. ''All this could have been avoided if you had just accepted my offer.'' He shrugged with a sigh. ''You could have lived like a king, but you chose to remain a pawn.'' He eyed the hero as he tried in vain to move. ''Oh well, hopefully, I'll meet someone as valuable as you someday.'' He waved a hand, causing Nomu to stand and Aizawa to recover his breath. ''But for now…I'll settle with your demise.'' He chuckled. ''Nomu, end him slowly.''
With the last of his strength, Aizawa tried to crawl away with his good arm but soon grunted in pain when Nomu placed a foot on his back.
As the beast added some pressure on his back, the man groaned out in pain. ''Nemuri…'' The hero closed his eyes and braced himself as the abomination prepared to stomp the downed hero. He thinks he could hear his students calling out for him, but was too worn out to look and honestly hoped it was just his mind playing tricks on him. "Run…everyone…" He clenched his fist.
Tomura smiled in bloodthirsty malice, satisfied at the man's spirit finally crumbling and the despair from the students. "Time to show them the fate of all heroes." He raised his hand to signal Nomu to crush the hero.
Suddenly, a powerful roar cut through the air.
The commotion caused the students, Kurogiri, Tomura, and surprisingly Nomu to search for the source of the sound.
Their eyes then snapped on a high-speed object cutting through the air like a drill before slamming on Nomu's chest, pushing the beast a little from Aizawa to focus on steadying himself and producing a shockwave that staggered Kurogiri and Tomura. "W-What!?" The latter exclaimed in surprise as he braced himself.
"SKY DRILL!" Izuku roared as he added more power. The glow on his horn increased before he released an energy blast, pushing the behemoth back.
Nomu roared as he fell back and stumbled on the ground. Izuku eyed him for a second before grabbing onto his teacher with his feet and flying to the top of the stairs.
Kurogiri prepared to intercept but a hand raised from an intrigued Shigaraki stopped him. "Master?" The decay villain said nothing and simply watched.
Upon reaching the top of the stairs, his classmates made room as Izuku gently placed Aizawa on the ground before turning back to normal. "Izuku!" Toga ran up and hugged him while Sero moved to bandage up the pro.
The OFA user returned the hug before gently pushing her off. "Later, we need to plan." The blonde nodded in understanding as he did a headcount. "Where's Ida?" He wasn't warped away from what he remembered.
"We helped him escape to call for help." Toga explained as she stared at the pro. "I know that the plan is to regroup, but now that the villains know for sure that we're here…" She looked up to him with uncertainty. "I don't know what to do." And based on the looks on his classmates' faces, they didn't either.
Izuku said nothing and took in the scene. They could run, but the villains would most likely pursue them, and with the warp guy there, he doubted they could escape without anyone being warped away again.
Not only that, Momo's group must have met up with the others, meaning that they expect them to be here. And with no communication, there's no way to warn them if the villains choose to stay at the regroup point.
With all these points, there was one thing to do.
After a moment to check if there was any other option, he steeled himself. "Where's Thirteen?" He asked while eyeing Nomu.
"Mezo and I moved her outside by the entrance." Ochako explained as Izuku glanced at her. "She's hurt badly, but Sero managed to patch up what he could."
Izuku cursed but nodded, glad that she was alive at least. "Then we'll need to do the same for Aizawa, he'll be safe out there." Ochako nodded as she and Shoji began to move the man with her quirk.
Toga joined him in watching the villains. "I'm guessing the rest of us will be defending this point for the others?" She held in a chill from seeing the monster again as he stood up.
"Yeah." Izuku nodded though his expression remained firm. "But realistically, the leader will most likely send in that monster and the warp villain after us." His fists clenched at the scenario.
Though she suspected it to be the case, the blonde still grimaced. "Most likely." Maybe they could overwhelm the warp guy, but without information on the monster, it's risky. "What do we do?"
Izuku paused, clearly debating on the scenario again before sighing. "I'm going to stall them, while the rest of you hold this position."
Immediately, Toga snapped to him in disbelief as did everyone else. "Izu, you can't be serious!" She held onto his arm with a pleading look. "There has to be another way!"
"Not in this case." He gently removed her hand and held it. "Toga, escape is almost impossible with the warp villain there, and who knows what kind of power that big guy has." He glanced at the other zones. "And with the others on the move, there's no way to warn them if the villains make their way here." He then looked down. "And they're here for All Might, our combined strength might not be even enough to win." Why else would they be confident if they didn't have a way to do it?
Toga gently grabbed his wrists. "And yours will?" His gaze returned to her. "I don't want to sound like I'm doubting you, I just don't want you to needlessly risk yourself." She explained with worry in her voice.
"I know." Izuku smiled and gently squeezed her shoulder in assurance. "But beating them isn't the goal, holding them off long enough for help to arrive is." He calmly explained.
Toga wasn't as calm but could understand his logic. These villains didn't seem the type to spare them, especially after the fight they gave them.
And as much as she didn't like it, they needed to buy time for the reinforcements.
With a heavy sigh, Toga nodded. "Ok, what form should I use to help?" She has more than enough of his blood to spare.
Now it was Izuku's turn to become uncertain, most likely from what her reaction would be. "I want you to stay with the main group." He raised a hand before she could object. "Our classmates are strong, but they'll need the extra firepower if the villains try a fast one on us." He glanced at Nomu. "Besides, I need you in reserve if things get too much for me."
Toga still didn't like this but knew he was right so she nodded. "I trust you." She then reached up to touch his cheeks. "But please, be careful." She fearfully implored.
"I will." Izuku wore a comforting smile and touched her hands before lowering them to face his classmates. "Sorry if it seems like I'm doubting all of you."
Mina waved a hand. "We know dude." She gave him a thumbs-up and a semi-nervous grin. "You can count on us to hold the line!" Her declaration was echoed by the others.
"We'll stand firm Midoriya." Mezo resolutely added. "Just don't be sure to fall back if it gets too much." He advised.
Izuku nodded with a smile before stepping back from Toga as he turned his back to them with 5% flowing through him. "Be safe everyone." An air of resolve emanated from him as he turned into Bemstar and took to the air.
USJ GROUNDS-PLAZA
When he reached a safe height in the plaza he returned to his normal form and landed, cracking the ground from the impact before he stood with a fearsome gaze.
While Kurogiri was alert, Tomura clapped with a chortle. "Nice entrance, quite flashy." He placed his hands behind his back. "I can already tell that you're far different than the rest of your classmates." The teen remained firm but listened. "How about you drop this whole hero thing and join a more…righteous cause?" He calmly offered.
"No." Izuku replied in the calmest way he could. "Why are you here?" He feigned ignorance to buy more time and gain more information.
Tomura scoffed from the quick and blunt refusal but waved a hand. "I already explained to Eraser so I'll get to the chase." He spread his arms wide. "We're here to kill All Might."
While he already knew this, Izuku still felt angered from having it confirmed. "Do you think you can take on the Symbol of Peace?"
Tomura let out a laugh before calming down. "As much as I love the idea of crumbling that fool's face in my hands, I know I can't beat him alone." He then gestured to Nomu who showed no signs of injury from the Sky Drill. "Which leaves our trump card to handle it." He smiled with malice. "Meet Nomu, the bioengineered Anti-Symbol of Peace!" He laughed as the beast roared.
"He's the key to this whole thing." Izuku's eyes narrowed on the creature. If Nomu was designed to fight his mentor, then a prolonged battle between the two should be avoided, especially with All Might's time limit. "He most likely has enough speed to match All Might, which means fleeing was never an option." He clenched his fists. "I'm supposed to stall them, but if I can also weaken or cripple this thing, they'll lose the advantage." It would certainly increase their odds of survival.
But now that he can have a better look at him, Izuku can already tell that Nomu saw him as prey. But at the same time, there wasn't anybody behind those eyes. Just a lifeless husk that was born to be used by a madman.
A soulless husk made to destroy.
But despite having no consciousness, the young hero could tell that this monster had more tricks than meets the eye. The question was what kind? "This doesn't have to get ugly, just leave and we can pretend this day never happened." He calmly offered.
Tomura snorted, dashing his hopes of a peaceful resolution. "You and I both know this day won't be forgotten." He then smiled with malice. "Especially after we kill All Might." He let out a dark chuckle. "And maybe a few kids while we're at it." He sneered.
"Not going to happen." Izuku retorted as his form sparked with sharp eyes.
The hand villain looked amused while Kurogiri became alert. "Oh? Are you planning to fight?" He taunted as Nomu growled, the deep sound causing the students to tense.
But Izuku wasn't intimidated and stood his ground. "If it means protecting my friends…" He went into his stance. "I will." He went into his stance.
Tomura sighed. "You heroes…" He shook his head. "Always throwing your lives away." He shrugged. "Oh well, at least your death will be entertaining until All Might arrives." He said in a dismissive tone.
"Hmph, don't count on it." Izuku wore a daring grin as his sparks grew. "I'm not the type to easily give in." His smile grew as his teeth sharpened before transforming, causing Tomura and Kurogiri to shield their eyes.
When the light disappeared, they were greeted by a Kaiju with large arms and a large torso, nearly as tall as All Might. But unlike the previous transformations so far, this was something that Izuku had been developing in his spare time. A way to strengthen his quirk's capabilities and his creativity.
What he came up with is Red King. An experimental melee-focused transformation with strength, deceptive speed, and moderate defense.
Up on the stairs, his classmates were awed by the transformation. "Woah, that looks like a real beast!" Sero exclaimed before glancing at Toga. "Who wielded that one?"
But to their surprise, the blonde was stunned. "No one that I know of." Her answer took them aback. "Either the transformation's history is incredibly obscure or…"
"Midoriya came up with it on his own." Mezo finished in amazement as everyone felt their spirits grow.
Toga nodded, a smile growing on her face. "That's right."
"I see…you're a mini-boss." Tomura said in a tone of surprise and intrigue. "Maybe this'll be more interesting than I thought." Never before had he seen such forms in his research.
Izuku chuckled. "Glad to leave an impression, now…" He pounded his fists together. "Are we going to do this or just keep chatting?" He taunted with an eager look but on the inside, he was cautious. "Here we go…"
"Eager to die, are we? Fine." Tomura said before looking at the creature. "Nomu, show him a proper greeting." He commanded with malice as he pointed forward.
Nomu charged at Izuku who roared as well and ran towards the monster. As the two needed, they raised their right fists before striking with furious roars.

When their fists collided, a powerful bang and shockwave were produced, staggering all from the clash.
Both combatants however stood firm until Izuku grunted from being pushed back. "Strong!" He quickly moved his fist away from the lock, making Nomu tumble forward, giving the teen an opening to deliver a powerful blow to his chest.
The strike was powerful enough to produce a shockwave out of Nomu's back, but the beast simply roared and lunged at the young hero.
Acting quickly, Izuku grabbed his wrists, surprised by the lack of reaction from his earlier strike. The two struggled to overpower the other, but it was becoming clear that the teen wouldn't be able to hold on for long. And neither could the ground as the surface below began to crack from their struggle.
Knowing the risks of continuing the lock, Izuku fell back, dragging Nomu with him and placing his foot on his chest before kicking him off.
As the beast fell, the OFA user got up and charged at his opponent before he could recover. "Let's see you deal with this!" He roared with his fist raised.
Nomu just got on one knee before he was struck hard on the side of his head. The latter growled but Izuku didn't let up as he continued to deliver heavy blows to its face and chin.
But just like before, it appeared to do no damage as Nomu grabbed the teen's wrist before he could slam his fist on top of his head. And before Izuku could counter with a punch with his free hand, Nomu swiftly struck him on the gut, causing him to let out a pained gasp before flying back.
Tomura gleefully watched the teen roll on the ground before having a rough stop. "Go ahead and punch him as many times as you want." He taunted. "His Shock Absorption could probably take on All Might's smashes for years if he wanted." He sneered as Nomu marched toward the young hero.
Izuku growled and slowly lifted himself off the ground while coughing for air. He then clenched the ground hard, digging his fingers into the surface.
He took a breath before taking a chunk off the ground as he stood before throwing it at Nomu with a roar.
But to his chagrin, the monster punched through it before jumping at him. Without wasting any time, he rolled forward as Nomu stomped where he once stood, cracking the ground.
As Nomu straightened himself up he staggered forward from being hit in the back by Izuku's tail. The latter was about to strike again but the creature reacted quickly and grabbed his tail. "Shit!" The teen growled and tried to pull his tail back.
But it proved futile as Nomu pulled him forward and began swinging him around in the air. His classmates watched in horror while Tomura was openly laughing at his predicament. "Is this the best you can do hero!?"
Nomu roared in fury before slamming him on the ground, causing the area to shake and a large crater from the impact.
The beast released the tail and marched towards the crater until the tail suddenly returned before Izuku leaped out of the hole with a roar and both fists in the air.
Nomu moved to the side as Izuku smashed his fists on the ground. The latter was about to stand but got punched on the side of his head. The moment caused his classmates to gasp in horror while Toga had to hold herself back from jumping in to assist, putting her trust in his capabilities.
As the beast threw his fist again, Izuku recovered quickly to dodge the strike and grab his wrist. The latter endured the daze and ringing in his ears to punch Nomu's head with a left hook before following up with a powerful backhand to the throat, sending the creature back a bit with a roar as he held his throat.
Using the opening, Izuku jumped back to gain some distance to recover a bit. "There's no stopping this guy!" He spat to the side as Nomu recovered and prepared to charge again. "If this keeps up, I'll be beaten." He growled as his eyes shifted to the side for a moment. "I'll have to be creative." He got into his stance as his form sparked with 5% OFA.
Nomu roared and charged at the teen who did the same. But rather than a full-on fistfight like earlier, Izuku dove forward as they neared, shocking everyone and confusing his opponent with the unorthodox move.
And because of the unexpected move, Nomu was unprepared to counter as he tripped over the teen, accidentally stomping his head into the ground while doing it.
Tomura blinked as everyone else gaped at the rather comedic moment. "Getting silly, are we?" Maybe the blow from earlier made him stupid?
With an audible groan underground, Izuku placed his hands on the ground and lifted himself and his head out of the hole, revealing a large chunk of concrete in his mouth that he crushed in his jaws with an audible crunch. "It worked, didn't it?" He retorted between chews before swallowing.
While his classmates cringed from the thought of chewing rocks (Toga was inwardly scolding him for getting hungry now), Tomura tilted his head in confusion. "You're strange." Next to him, Kurogiri was simply stunned.
"Thanks." Izuku replied as he stood up and looked at Nomu who searched for him. And after locking eyes with him, he let out a roar before running at him again.
The OFA user didn't back down and met the charge, preparing to counter upon getting close. But to his shock, Nomu jumped over him before delivering a backkick to his head, sending him tumbling to the ground.
Izuku lifted himself off the ground and shook his head with a hiss. "Kind of deserved that." He looked to the right at the sound of rushing footsteps, only to be met with a kick to the chest from Nomu.
After landing on his back with a loud thump, Izuku groaned before grunting in pain when Nomu straddled him with his fists in the air bringing them down.
The teen cursed and raised his arms to block the onslaught. Nomu was aiming to crush him, but every so often he would punch him on the side, hoping to lower his guard long enough for him to strike his head.
However, Izuku didn't yield despite the pain in his arms and body, he endured the barrage and continued to draw out the fight for as long as he could.
After another swift strike to his ribs, the young hero knew he couldn't stay here forever so after enduring a few more blows, Nomu raised both his fists in the air long enough for the teen to grapple the hulking beast's torso and rolled them over so he was on top. "Let's see how you like it!" He roared before delivering blow after blow on his opponent's face.
Nomu however refused to stay long as he quickly kicked Izuku's back, sending him tumbling forward. The latter rolled on his back only to have the monster on top of him again.
But just as Nomu raised his fists, Izuku roared. "Not this time!" The teen's tail shot up and wrapped around the beast's neck, showcasing its surprising flexibility and strength. And before he could grab the appendage, the teen pulled him off, sending him tumbling back.
As Nomu stood, Izuku rushed in and delivered a powerful dropkick and while it didn't knock him to the ground, he slid away far enough for the young hero to stand and recover a bit.
Izuku panted, holding back a grimace as Nomu stood again as if he hadn't been pummeled a few seconds ago. But he needed to put that grim observation aside and focus.
With a powerful roar, he charged at Nomu in a burst of speed. When he got close, he dodged a grapple from the beast and tackled his torso, making him slide back a bit from the impact.
Tomura shook his head, unimpressed. "Have you deluded yourself into thinking that you can beat the final boss?" His tone was mocking. "Face it, you're too under-leveled for this."
His words fell on deaf ears as Izuku continued the struggle when Nomu grabbed him and slammed his knee on the teen's face. Threatening the latter to black out from the blow as he grunted in pain.
Just as it looked like the young hero was about to fall, his eyes regained their focus as he steadied himself with a heavy stomp. After this, he continued his previous attack and grappled with the monstrosity.
Nomu growled and delivered blows with his elbow on the teen's back. But rather than counterattack, Izuku endured the hits while maintaining his hold on the creature and did something unexpected
With a defiant roar, he fired a stream of rocks from his mouth towards Shigaraki. The latter shocked before swiftly moving out of the way.
Kurogiri however wasn't fast enough and was helplessly hit by the projectiles that let out mini explosions upon contact. Knocking him out from the attack as he fell on his back with some smoke emitting from his damaged form.
Tomura stared at him with wide eyes before his mind flashed back to Izuku tripping and chewing rocks earlier. "You…" He whispered before snapping at the teen with an enraged glare. "You tricked us!"
"Yup!" Izuku chuckled and tightened his hold on Nomu. "And now I'm finishing this!" With a boost of OFA, he lifted Nomu off the ground and executed a powerful suplex, burying the monster's head in the ground.
After this, Izuku quickly got up to face the threat and as expected, Nomu wasn't affected by the maneuver and worked on freeing his head. But the young hero was ready and went charged.
As he ran, his left fist began to emit a heated glow. "Explosive…" The glow turned into a flame. "Punch!" He went in for a strike just as Nomu freed his head to look at him.
His attack was spot on as the side of Nomu's head sizzled upon contact before he staggered back. But Izuku wasn't done as his other fist became covered in flame before striking the monster's chest.
Blow after blow, Nomu staggered back, roaring as his flesh burned from the strikes. Leaving visible marks in increasing quantity and intensity.
Izuku remained hardened but on the inside, he was guilty for the pain he was inflicting. The only bright side was that Nomu appeared to have no higher thinking, making it somewhat easier to do this.
Roaring from another burning blow to the face, Nomu glared at the teen and raised both fists in the air. The latter however saw this and reared both of his flaming fists back before delivering a powerful blow to the chest, sending the monster sliding back with a roar but didn't fall despite the damage on his body.
Seeing this, Izuku steadied himself as his feet began to glow. "Sorry." He charged as his feet ignited. "But I have to protect my friends!" He roared as he delivered a powerful flaming dropkick on Nomu's chest. "Volcanic Impact!" Flesh sizzled underneath his soles accompanied by an audible crunch.
This time the beast fell back, cracking the ground from his weight as he roared with his chest burning. It twisted and turned, grabbing his sizzling chest before going limp with a groan. Leaving the sound and smell of burning flesh to remain.
[Song Ends]
Izuku remained firm but the same could not be said for his classmates as mixed feelings went through them.
They're supposed to save lives, so to see a fellow trainee ending one was surreal. But based on how the beast acted and the brutality inflicted on their teacher, they supposed that it was a necessary course of action.
A harsh laugh suddenly cut through the air, looking to the source they saw Tomura cackling like a madman. "Something funny?" The Kaiju user prodded with a narrowed look.
"There absolutely is." The hand-covered villain said after composing himself. "I didn't think any of you had the stomach to take a life." He sneered in sadistic satisfaction. "But I guess some people are just born to kill."
Izuku growled but remained focused. "Enough toying around Tomura." He gestured to the fallen monster. "Your trump card is beaten and your warp friend is down." He got into his stance with sparks and a serious look. "Surrender."
While annoyed at being brushed off, Tomura smiled behind his mask. "I don't think so."
Izuku was about to speak again until a growl was heard. Looking at the source, he and his classmates were shocked to see Nomu slowly getting up. "Huh?" The teen exclaimed in disbelief as the beast's injuries healed, including his cracked sternum. "I thought his quirk was shock absorption!?" He faced the monster with gritted teeth as he charged 5% OFA again.
[BNHA OST - "Uncontrollable Evil" - Plays]
"It wouldn't be a final boss if that was all he could do, that would be boring." Tomura shook his head with a chuckle. "Apart from the obvious, he also has Super Regeneration, just in case All Might resorted to tearing him apart." He explained with sadistic glee.
Izuku grimaced at the information. "This guy isn't natural." He charged at the creature as his fists ignited. "I can't let him fight All Might!" He threw his fist forward.
"Block it."
To his shock, Nomu caught his burning fist, producing a loud bang and shockwave. "!?" The monster looked at him and gripped his fist, appearing to be immune to the burning.
"But enough playing around…" Izuku looked at Tomura who was staring at him intently. "It's only a matter of time before the real boss arrives and you've outgrown my amusement." He looked to Nomu who was waiting for his command. "Get serious Nomu."
Faster than Izuku could blink, Nomu delivered a powerful blow to the gut, knocking the air out of the teen, and followed with an uppercut before kicking him away.
The OFA user coughed as he roughly rolled on the ground but soon recovered enough to dig his fingers in the ground to stop himself from traveling further back.
"You've got to be kidding me!" Izuku looked up and was met with a punch to the face that nearly knocked him out. "He wasn't…" Before he fell back, he was grabbed by the face and effortlessly lifted off the ground. "At his full strength!?" He grabbed Nomu's hand to pry it off but to no avail.
The monster watched his efforts with the same blank look before roaring and slamming the young hero onto the ground, making a large crater.
Izuku let out a pained gasp when Nomu let go of his face. He looked up and quickly crossed his arms as the beast brought his foot down on him.
The impact was immense, threatening to break the teen's arms as well as the ground behind him. He tried to push back but it was clear that he wouldn't be able to for he managed to halt the pressure for a moment, he sent a barrage of explosive rocks from his mouth at his attacker's face.
The maneuver worked as Nomu staggered back long enough for him to roll away.
He was only able to get on one knee before a shadow loomed over him. On instinct he raised his arms, blocking Nomu's crushing blow and injuring himself in the process.
Izuku looked up to glare at the beast as he stared at him. "Don't think I'm finished just yet!" His fists began to ignite. "I've still got some fire in me!" He snarled as he began to push against his attacker's arms, cracking the ground from the pressure.
And while his arms shook, Nomu didn't look affected as he roared before kicking the teen away. "Bravado can only get you so far." Tomura said with a shake of his head. "Just give up and die like the fodder that you are." He said in a dismissive tone.
After staggering to his feet with a cough, Izuku glared at the decay villain, bruised but defiant. "NEVER!" He wiped his mouth as he panted. "As long as there's people to protect…" He clenched his fist and thumped it against his chest. "I'll never surrender!" He roared.
"Very well." Tomura sighed and glanced at Nomu who was still as a statue again. "Go." He ordered in a bored tone.
Izuku prepared to move but was shocked when Nomu appeared in front of him in a burst of speed. "Damn!" His fists ignited before he threw a punch.
Only for Nomu to grab his wrist and catch the other when the teen tried to attack him with his free hand. "You could have been an excellent addition to our cause." Tomura sighed in disappointment. "Sadly, for you, you chose to stay loyal to the wrong people." He then glanced at the top of the stairs with a hum. "I wonder if your friends have more sense?" Realistically they would have fled, but the thought still intrigued him.
Izuku's eyes sharpened considerably. "Stay away from-!" He grunted as Nomu spread his arms with ease. "They have nothing to do with this!" He struggled against the powerful grip.
"As long as they're still planning to become heroes, they have everything to do with it." Tomura chuckled darkly. "It's only right to nip the bud before it sprouts." He waved a hand. "Get it over with Nomu."
Nomu roared in affirmative and began pulling the teen's arms, drawing out pained screams from the young hero as he resisted. "Damn you!" His form sparked as he resorted to delivering powerful kicks that didn't even make the beast flinch. "Let go!" He unleashed a powerful rock barrage from his mouth.
But to his chagrin, Nomu simply took the hits and continued pulling unimpeded, drawing more screams of anger and pain from the hero as he continued to resist.
Yells were suddenly heard.
Looking in the direction of the voices, they saw Toga on top of the stairs, forgoing stealth altogether as she cried out for her cherished friend. Behind her, their classmates followed her lead, begging the young hero to push through and yelling for the villain to let him go.
"Ah, so that's where they are." Tomura mused aloud, gaining the young hero's attention. "And to think they could have used the opening to flee for their lives." He shook his head with a mocking chortle. "They'll regret not leaving."
"NO!" Izuku's struggles renewed with vigor and desperation. "Do what you want with me, but leave them be!" He held back a scream after a strong tug from the beast.
Tomura let out a mocking laugh. "I expected that, but why settle for one…" He grinned maliciously. "I can just take all of you."
*Ba-Bump*
[Song Ends]
A familiar feeling sparked within him, one that he hadn't felt in a long time. A sensation that merged with his determination, anger, and power. The familiar flame within from the past.
While a part of him feared it, the majority of him felt empowered by the sensation. For this wasn't when he was a child, scared and ignorant of the world. He had practiced with his family and in his spare time. Honing it into a skill that his family had been using for generations.
"You have every right to fear giving in to the primal flame, but at the same time, suppression would only worsen the issue. Like a heated core being denied a way to vent out its excess energy."
His mother's words echoed in his head, making his decision clear.
Izuku let out a deep growl, gaining Tomura's attention. "I…" The sparks on his form increased. "Won't let you!" He struggled with an aura of power.
Tomura snorted. "How thick-headed are you? Nomu's built to take on All Might." He glanced at the teen. "There's no way you'd…" He trailed off as he saw something unbelievable.
Nomu's arms were trembling, clearly trying to continue pulling but couldn't. "Impossible." The hand-covered villain whispered in disbelief.
"Brave Burst!" Izuku roared as an aura of flame emanated from him for a moment before the sparks of OFA grew in number and intensity. With the added power, he was able to pull against Nomu's grip.
"That's not possible!" Tomura yelled, disbelief radiating off him. Nomu was built to take on the Symbol of Peace, no one should be able to stop him!
What made this brat so different!?
"With the right amount of determination…" Izuku growled out and to the villain's further shock, began to slowly pull Nomu's arms towards him. "Most things are possible!" He roared as he pulled downwards, his arms bulging from the effort.
The ground began to crumble beneath them, but the hero pushed on as OFA's sparks went wild.
Both fighters shook from the struggle and to everyone's shock, he was able to pull enough for him to lower the beast's face in front of him. "It only depends on…" He reared his head back. "How far you're willing to go!" With a roar, he slammed his head against Nomu's glass-covered brain. The impact produced a bang that could be heard by his classmates.
And for a moment, the world seemed to freeze. Both fighters remained in their original positions while those around them waited for something to happen.
*Crack*
A noticeable crack was visible now on Nomu's brain casing and much to Tomura's horror, the beast released Izuku who staggered back and adjusted his wrists. "How's that you damn husk!" He panted, feeling a small bit of satisfaction at finally being able to do some real damage. "In hindsight, it should have been obvious that the brain is the weak spot." The wielder wouldn't be able to use their quirks properly without a mind after all.
With a roar, Izuku's fists ignited and lunged at Nomu who was holding his head in pain. The action caused a surge of panic through Tomura. "S-Snap out of it Nomu!"
In an instant, Nomu howled in anger and snapped at his target, causing Izuku's eyes to widen as he closed in on him. The latter was only able to cross his arms as the beast threw his fists forward, fueled by pain, obedience, and fury.
The attack hit its mark on Izuku's arms, causing a pained gasp to escape his lips as the force of the blow was strong enough to knock the air out of him, despite blocking it.
He was then sent flying towards the stairs and as this happened, Tomura regained his composure. "He's more trouble than I thought." If he had struck any harder, they'd be in a tough spot. "Finish him Nomu!" The beast roared and leaped towards the stairs; his fists ready to crush his foe.
From his spot in the crater on the stairs, Izuku unwillingly shifted to normal from the fatigue and injuries he sustained, revealing that despite his costume being fine, the same could not be said for his body as he sported bruising and scratches. As well as a cut on the top of his head that bled down his left cheek.
With a groan, he looked up and grimaced when he spotted Nomu in the air about to crush him. "Need to change." He clenched his fists. "Come on! Hurry up and change!" He gritted his teeth as the beast descended.
But just as Nomu was about to crush the young hero, an energy beam struck him in the chest, blasting him away toward the plaza.
Tomura watched him fly into the water with wide eyes before glaring up the stairs. "WHAT NOW!?"
Izuku on the other hand wasn't surprised as he held up a wince and looked up to see Toga on top of the stairs in her Gomora form with horns smoking. Behind her stood their classmates, ready to fight.
"It looks like there's more than one mini-boss in this batch." Tomura muttered as he eyed the Gomora transformation in intrigue. Perhaps they're siblings? "You're all fools for not running when you had the chance." He sneered.
Toga growled. "I don't expect someone like you to understand!" She advanced to Izuku's position, followed by her classmates who formed a protective formation around him. "As long as there's a chance, no one gets left behind!" She barked as she stood tall.
Izuku grunted as he looked up at them. "Everyone…" While their defense of him warmed him, he feared for their safety but knew that telling them to leave him was a fool's errand.
"Take it easy, Midoriya." Mina gently cut in as she went into her stance. "We'll protect you!" Her fingers moistened as she prepared her quirk along with everyone else.
Despite the pain in his body, Izuku gave her a crooked grin. "Thank you." The pink teen nodded to him with a smile before focusing on the plaza.
Tomura stared at them intently before speaking. "Nomu." At once the beast stood next to him, covered in water. "Are you all so eager to die?" He questioned in a voice that promised death.
While unnerved and intimidated by Nomu's presence, none gave a verbal reply and remained firm. Wordlessly, Ochako applied her quirk on Toga to hopefully give her a chance against the abomination's speed. The latter felt her touch and growled as her horns glowed with energy.
"Fine." Tomura said and focused his gaze on Izuku. "You should have known better than to think you could beat Nomu." He gestured to his classmates. "Now your friends are about to die because of your arrogance." Maybe he could decorate the plaza with their beaten forms, that would certainly haunt the pros.
There was a tense silence after which was broken when Izuku let out a pained laugh which served to annoy the hand-covered villain. "Something amusing?" Did he succumb to madness?
"Yeah, calling me arrogant when you're the one waving your puppet around like some toy your parents bought." Izuku's remark sparked anger within the madman, but before he could retort the teen continued. "But you're wrong, for as strong as I am, I knew there was no way for me to beat Nomu on my own." He calmly admitted with a grunt as slowly sat up with Sero's help.
While angry, Tomura decided to question him. "Then why bother risking your life then?" Did he possibly think that he could weaken Nomu so that they could finish him off with his friends?"
At that, Izuku gave him a sharp defiant grin. "To buy time." The villain looked confused for a moment before his eyes widened.
*BOOM*
A loud explosion rang throughout the facility as the rest of the ruined entrance was smashed apart. And out of the smoke came Ida before stopping where they could see him. "I, TENYA IDA, HAVE RETURNED!" He bellowed out despite the visible fatigue from running.
"He made it!" Ochako cried out in relief as the others cheered. "And look!"
Behind the class president, their teachers emerged. Apart from Nezu who was on Cementoss's shoulder, they were a little roughed up from dealing with the decoys deployed to slow their arrival.
Hizashi and Nemuri looked especially pissed off after seeing the injuries that Aizawa had sustained. Thankfully the latter and Thirteen will be stable long enough until the medics arrive.
"Rescue the scattered students and avoid the plaza!" Nezu ordered as he got off from his seat while the teachers nodded and moved out. "I'll remain here to coordinate." He added as he went to the edge of the stairs to observe along with Cementoss and Ida.
"You…" Shigaraki's venomous voice cut through the moment and got their attention. "Tricked me again!?" He yelled as he began to furiously scratch his neck, the sight unnerving the students. "I've had enough of you!" He pointed ahead with one hand. "KILL THEM NOMU!" He commanded with bloodthirsty anger and at once, the hulking beast charged at them at high speed.
"I-Incoming!" Mineta fearfully squeaked out as everyone prepared to attack while Izuku grimaced as his form sparked.
But just as Nomu neared them he was sent flying back towards Tomura, who rolled away, in a flash.
The students were understandably shocked but upon seeing that standing in front of them was none other than All Might with his right fist out, they felt immense relief. "A-All Might…" Sato whispered in astonished relief.
"I'm sorry for keeping you all waiting." All Might said in an apologetic tone as he straightened up, allowing them to see his furious expression. "But you can all stand back now because…" He trailed off before tearing off his necktie. "I AM HERE!"
While the students felt their spirits rise, Tomura was angry at the sight of the man and was inwardly glad that at least one thing was going according to plan. "Nice of you to finally show up, now we can finally get started." He said as Nomu stood up and immediately focused on the Number 1 Hero. "Nomu, the priority target is here, be ready." The beast let out a powerful roar as he began to beat his chest, creating shockwaves with each hit.
All Might's expression hardened at the display while the students became nervous. "Wait." He looked back and saw Izuku being supported by Sato and Sero. "Don't fight him." He warned with a worried expression.
While inwardly cursing himself for the state his successor was in, All Might remained composed. "Have no fear, young Midoriya!" He gave him a thumbs up. "I'm more than enough to-"
"Listen!" Izuku's stern cut-off shocked the man. "He isn't like the usual villains you faced; this guy was made to fight you." He said in a serious tone, shocking his classmates. Made to fight All Might?
At that, All Might turned serious as he listened. "That guy covered in hands is the leader of this raid, Tomura Shigaraki. He said that Nomu was built to kill you." His gaze shifted to the abomination. "I don't know how, aside from Strength and Speed. He also has Shock Absorption and Super Regeneration." His expression turned grim as he looked up to his mentor who was shocked, along with everyone else. "There's no other way to say it, this thing has more than one quirk."
Toga snapped at him in shock as everyone else expressed their disbelief. Izuku on the other hand was focused on his mentor and caught a glimpse of horror on his face before glaring at Nomu with clenched fists. "I see…" An edge was in his voice now. "Thank you for the warning, I'll take it from here."
"I'll join you." Izuku cut in while gently removing himself from Sero and Sato's support. "You'll need backup for this."
All Might gave him a stern look. "Young Midoriya, no, you've done more than enough." He looked to Toga. "Take him up the stairs."
The blonde became uncertain of what to do, so Izuku spoke again. "Alone, Nomu's just a monstrous punching bag." His gaze shifted to the leader. "But with Tomura giving the order, he's a precise killer."
"While I don't doubt your information, you're injured." All Might tried to reason again.
"I'm bruised and a little bloody, but I'm not out of the fight yet." Izuku retorted with determination. "Stopping Tomura from giving orders will give us an edge here." He then stared up at his mentor, his expression pleading. "I'm sorry for stepping out of line, but with me there, Tomura won't be able to focus on instructing Nomu." And with how angry he is with him; Tomura would give him his undivided attention.
All Might was about to decline him again before pursing his lips. He wanted to deny him again, tell him that he'd done his part and that he should rest. But he couldn't refute how sound the plan was.
One glance at Nomu told him how empty but incredibly dangerous he was. And if Tomura could order precise strikes and maneuvers, this fight could lead to serious consequences.
And from experience, he had a feeling Izuku would dive in to help, regardless of what he had to say.
After another moment of debating, All Might chuckled. "Honestly…" He looked at his successor with a proud look. "Your stubborn bravery is truly something, Young Midoriya." When the teen said nothing and continued to wait for an answer, he sighed. "You can assist in the fight." He hoped he wasn't going to regret this.
Izuku grinned and was about to speak until the man raised a hand. "On the condition that you leave if I say so." The young hero didn't look pleased but agreed. "Good." He looked at the others. "The rest of you, however, need to regroup with Nezu on top of the stairs." The group looked hesitant to leave their friend to fight alone but knew better than to disagree with the Symbol of Peace.
Toga in particular didn't want to leave until she felt a gentle hand on her arm, looking to the source she saw Izuku with a comforting smile. "It'll be alright." He then grinned. "Besides, I've got All Might with me."
The blonde was still hesitant but managed to put her fears aside and nodded. "Alright." She moved her head close to nuzzle the side of his head, careful not to hit him with her horns. "Come back safely." She whispered.
"I will." Izuku replied in a soft voice as he hugged her neck before separating to look at her. "Now go."
She nodded and began to climb up the stairs while shifting back to normal. "Oh, I almost forgot." She looked back in confusion. "Tell Tsuyu to alert Nezu about the ones who helped us in the Shipwreck Zone." The blonde was surprised but nodded, she'll probably be given an explanation later.
All Might observed his successor as he watched his classmates climb up the stairs. The young hero then closed his eyes and took a deep breath before opening them with resolve. "On your lead, All Might." 10% OFA emanated from him as he glared at the threats, enduring the pain and fatigue.
While impressed with his dedication to his friends and heroic spirit, All Might needed to be the voice of responsibility. "When this is over, we'll discuss your recklessness." While admirable, he wouldn't be able to look his parents in the eye if something happened to him so soon into his heroic path.
"I know." Izuku expected it to be the case. "But it'll be worth protecting my friends." He shifted into an agile Kaiju named: Kyrieloid. A transformation once wielded by Ono Midoriya, an international hero for two years before disappearing during his mission in Spain. "Aim for his brain, apart from having no independence, it's the only weakness I found out."
"Understood." All Might nodded with a proud smile before becoming serious. "Let's go!" His form sparked.
"YES!" Izuku sparked as well before both heroes dashed forward with the young hero leading the charge thanks to his form's speed.
[BNHA OST - "You Say Run" - Plays]
Tomura bristled at the sight of the teen. "Squash that pest Nomu!"
The beast roared as it ran forward but Izuku wasn't faltering and used his amazing speed to slide between Nomu's legs, avoiding a crushing blow. "Sorry, but I'm not your dance partner right now!" The teen called out as he got to his feet and ran.
After pulling his fist out with a growl, Nomu turned to face the teen before All Might appeared next to him. "He's not your concern!" He delivered a swift punch to the chest that made him stagger back. "I AM!" He proudly exclaimed before dashing towards him.
Tomura growled but was forced to dodge a kick from Izuku. "I'm sick of you!" He ran at him at great speeds with hands ready.
Seeing his hands, Izuku's instincts screamed for him to avoid them. So as Tomura lunged at him, he jumped to avoid the attack.
The hand villain only had time to look up in surprise before receiving a swift kick to the side of his head, sending him tumbling to the side.
After landing on his side, Tomura shook off his daze to glare at the teen. But as he placed his hands on the ground to stand up, the surface decayed from his touch. "I can't wait to get my hands on you cheater!"
"So that's what happened to Aizawa's arm." Izuku mused with an inward grimace, now knowing that close-range combat is an extreme risk. " Cheater? I'm not the one with an indestructible pawn!" He retorted with slight exasperation.
Despite the thunderous blows between All Might and Nomu, Tomura's angered yell could be heard as he ran at him again. Knowing that doing the same thing could be risky, Izuku decided to wait for him to get close as he got into his stance.
When Tomura reached striking distance, he went for another grab but Izuku quickly went on one knee and delivered a powerful punch on his stomach.
As the hand-covered villain gasped in pain and staggered back while holding his stomach, Izuku didn't let up and went for quick kicks to his right leg and left arm before finishing it with a drop kick, sending the villain to the ground.
After skidding to a stop, Tomura propped himself up with his elbows to glare at the teen who went back to his stance. "He's fast and powerful." He slowly stood and glanced at the clash. "I bet he's a glass cannon too." That's usually how those types of fighters are in games. "But I can't call for Nomu while he's dealing with All Might and Kurogiri isn't available to send him away." He clenched his fists in anger at the situation. "You ruined everything!"
"Glad to help." Izuku snarked with humor in his voice. "So, are we doing this or have you suddenly got cold feet without your buddies to help you?" He questioned in a teasing tone.
As expected, Tomura's anger flared up. "SHUT UP!" He charged with a hate-filled yell. "I'll turn you to dust!"
The OFA user steadied himself. "That's it, keep your focus on me." He ran to meet his opponent head-on.
As this happened, All Might was busy exchanging blows with Nomu. "It's just as Izuku said." He delivered two quick hooks to the beast's face that didn't faze him. "He wields Shock Absorption and he's got the strength and speed to match me." He caught Nomu's wrist and delivered a shoulder ram, pushing the beast back, digging a trench with his feet as he moved.
Using the opening, All Might dashed forward. "Carolina…" He crossed his arms and just as he reached Nomu who was about to attack, he released a powerful cross chop to the creature's torso. "Smash!"
Despite the powerful shockwave produced, Nomu remained unaffected and attempted to grab All Might who managed to duck under the grapple. "No good either!" He gritted his teeth and delivered a powerful uppercut.
As the shockwave ended, Nomu merely returned his gaze to All Might and roared as he threw a punch. The latter blocked the attack, making him slide back with a grunt.
"I'm wasting time here; I need to go for the brain!" He met Nomu's rapid punches with his own, filling the place with loud blows. "I say that but…" His gaze shifted to the cracked brain casing for a moment. "It's surprisingly resilient against normal smashes."
With a roar, Nomu managed to land a blow on All Might's injured side, causing the man to grunt into focus before hardening his expression. "I need to land a precise strike to end this!" Even if it risked lowering his time limit.
He already failed to keep the youth out of harm's way, so failure here wasn't an option.
With a burst of power, All Might caught Nomu's wrist when he went for a grab. "I hear you were made to fight me." He received no reply as the beast growled and tried to overpower the man. "While they're on the right track, there's one fatal flaw that they can never produce!" He exclaimed as he tightened his grip on the beast's wrists. "Spirit!"
In one swift and powerful motion, he spread Nomu's arms, before concentrating power on his right leg. "Florida…" He did a small jump before delivering a powerful kick to Nomu's chest. "Smash!"
The thunderous blow sent Nomu sliding away, digging his feet into the ground while he was bent backward in an abnormal way.
But to the disbelief of the students on the stairs, Nomu simply straightened himself up after stopping. "Can anything hurt this guy!?" Mineta fearfully exclaimed while grabbing his hair.
Nezu hummed as he observed the creature before his gaze landed on the cracked brain casing. "I believe there is."
"Whatever it is, I hope it comes up soon!" Mina said, stressed from what she's seen so far. "I'm starting to think that this thing's invincible!" Her thoughts were silently agreed with most of her classmates.
Toga on the other hand had her entire focus on her friend, hoping for his safe return. "Izuku…" She clenched her fists.
Back on the ground, Tomura staggered to his feet, dirtied up from the blows he'd received. "Damn you…" He panted and glanced at the battle with a snort. "I'm guessing that idiot didn't believe you about the Shock Absorption." He laughed with an air of smugness.
Only for his moment to be cut short when he fell to the ground with a scream when a fireball hit his arm. "AHHHHH!" He bellowed and began to put out the small patch of fire on his arm in haste.
After putting out the flame, he groaned before glaring at Izuku who had his now smoking right fist aimed at him. "Where do you think you're looking?" He went into his stance again. "I'm your opponent, remember?"
Something snapped in Tomura as a wave of anger overcame him. "You…" He lowered his hand and decayed the ground as he got on one knee. "How dare you…" He clenched the pile of dust in his palms as he got to his feet. "LOOK DOWN ON ME!?" He furiously scratched his neck before running at the teen at incredible speed.
Izuku wasn't intimidated and ignited his fists before consecutively punching forward, sending fireballs at the madman who ran in another direction to avoid getting hit.
This went on for a few moments but it was increasingly clear that Tomura was getting close. When the latter was close enough, Izuku stopped firing and prepared to strike. But just before they could clash, they were unceremoniously blown away.
After rolling into a kneeling position, Izuku looked up and saw All Might and Nomu exchanging even more powerful blows. "All Might! What about the shock absorption!?" He yelled out as he shielded his face from the intense wind with a grimace.
"Won't matter!" All Might replied with confidence as he matched his barrage with Nomu's. "You mentioned his quirk was Shock Absorption, not Nullification which means…" His eyes glowed as he increased the power and speed of his punches. "There's a limit!" He yelled with a powerful aura.
Just then, within the intense exchange, Izuku could see the creature being slowly overwhelmed. "H-He's brute forcing through Nomu's limit." His expression became grim. "And his own…" He wanted to help, but intensity prevented him from interfering.
"IZUKU!" Toga's terrified yell was heard.
The OFA user snapped to the top of the stairs in alarm, seeing Toga and their classmates calling out to him, including the pros.
It only took this moment for Izuku to realize what the problem was as his expression hardened while behind him, Tomura was a few steps away with his hands poised to decay him.
"I've got you now!" The madman wore a manic grin as his hands neared his nuisance.
Only for his hopes to be dashed away when Izuku's form sparked before swiftly lowering himself to the ground. "!?" He looked down to see the young hero move in a blur to deliver a swift leg sweep on the villain before following up with a strong kick to his gut, making him gasp in pain. "Impossible!"
And combined with the wind pressure from All Might and Nomu's fight, the villain was sent flying back. "DAMN YOU!" He screamed as he flew while Izuku got on one knee and watched him go with a two-fingered salute.
As this happened, All Might continued his barrage. "I'll force you to surrender beyond your limits!" His arms blurred further from another burst of speed before forcing the clash to end by spreading Nomu's arms wide with heavy blows.
Before Nomu could restart the brawl, All Might focused his power on his right hand. "Detroit…" He delivered a powerful uppercut that sent the creature up in the air. "Smash!"
Nomu soared helplessly in the air and just before he could fall, All Might was next to him in a blur with his leg ready to strike. "Florida Smash!" With a heavy slam, the creature was sent crashing face-first to the ground.
The cracks on Nomu's brain casing were visibly worse now but didn't deter him from slowly getting up. The sight stirred frustration within All Might. "Stay down!" He yelled before doing a fast frontal somersault, building up momentum and air pressure before diving down with his fist ready. "California…" His eyes shined with intensity.
Nomu was just about to look up before the top of his head was struck by All Might's fist, shattering the casing. "SMASH!" The creature's head slammed into the ground, producing a large crater from the impact.
Nearby bodies of the unconscious villains were blown away from the intense shock wave produced. While also making everyone else stagger from the wind and rumbling.
[Song Ends]
"Haven't done that move in a while." All Might let out a breath as he pulled back his fist and stared at it. "A little bloody." He returned his gaze to the unresponsive Nomu with a frown. "But the brain is still mostly intact." Just what on earth had he done to create this monster?
Up on the stairs, Mineta fearfully peaked from behind Mezo's leg. "I-Is it over?"
Sero squinted his eyes. "Can't tell from here, but he isn't moving anymore so I think we're good." His words helped ease his classmates.
Toga and Nezu however weren't letting their guards down yet as they stared at the fallen beast.
Their sentiments were shared with All Might as he raised his fist. "I need to be sure; I can't risk him running loose!" He focused a great amount of OFA into his fist. "Detroit…" A twitch from the monster's body made him pause. "?"
A second later Nomu grabbed his head as he let out a pained roar. Writhing on the ground he yelled while clutching his head as if it was falling apart. Easily the most emotion he's shown since being encountered.
The action caused All Might to step back in surprise while the students were horrified by the sudden movement as well as the pained wails he was producing. Even Izuku was pale from the sight, unsure how to feel or what to do.
All Might felt guilty from the display and would have helped if not for the logical part of him reminding him that Nomu didn't have a will to begin with.
With that thought the Number 1 Hero steeled himself and repositioned Nomu so that he was flat on his stomach, the creature was simply too unresponsive to stop him and raised his fist again. "Sorry, but I have to finish this." He began to build up as much power as he could to his fist to maximize the damage and swiftly end the suffering.
As this happened, Tomura shook off his daze and looked at the scene before freezing. It was something out of a nightmare, All Might standing over a whimpering Nomu with his fist raised to deal the final blow.
It couldn't end like this. All that planning, research, and waiting. All those tests and simulations that were spent to craft the perfect All Might killer.
Gone to waste because of some brat.
With that thought, his eyes shifted to the teen who looked conflicted by the scene before looking away.
Tomura's fingers twitched. How dare he look away? He's the one that thwarted his plan and he doesn't even have the nerve to witness what he'd done!?
"It would have been perfect." The villain spoke, gaining the attention of Izuku and All Might. "If it weren't for you getting involved!" He spat with anger.
Izuku's expression was neutral as he spoke. "Nothing's perfect and your version would have been bleak." His form sparked as he got up into his stance. "Surrender."
Another wave of rage sparked within Tomura as he scratched his neck. This couldn't be the end! Not after all that hard work! "It's not fair!" His scratching intensified with an angered yell before suddenly going silent and lowering his arms with a slump.
"Screw this…" Tomura growled out and glared at Izuku who remained firm but cautious. "I just want you dead." He took a deep breath before yelling out. "NOMU! KILL THIS BRAT!"
Despite the pain he's experiencing, Nomu jolted at the command before placing both his hands on the ground and did a double kick toward All Might who managed to block it in time. "Oh no!" He grunted as he staggered back.
Izuku went to look only to pale when Nomu appeared in front of him with his fists raised. "!" He jumped away from the powerful blow, leaving the beast to bury his fists in the ground. Using the opening, the OFA user concentrated power on his legs before attempting to run past the creature. The latter ripped one hand free to reach for the teen.
Izuku grimaced and opted to jump over the beast but to his horror, Nomu caught his right arm in a burst of speed. "Damn!" He paled as he stared at the creature who returned his gaze with an empty one.
The world slowed as this happened, he was faintly aware of All Might speeding towards him, Toga and the others calling out to him. But none of that compared to the grip of fear in his soul as his mind flashed with possibilities of how he was about to perish.
But as quickly as it came, his eyes sharpened into focus as his form sparked with 10% again. Despite the beast having a firm grip on his arm, Izuku was still able to move well enough to place his feet on the large body and raise his left hand. ''I'M NOT DONE YET!'' He straightened his fingers before swiftly jamming them through Nomu's eye and into the brain.
The effect was immediate as Nomu released him with a pained howl, allowing the teen to jump off the abomination's back as the creature held his bleeding eye socket. ''You useless idiot!'' Tomura yelled in anger.
After backflipping into a standing position with a stagger, Izuku ignored the blood and brain matter on his left hand as he snapped to All Might. ''GO FOR IT!'' He yelled before holding his right arm with a pained grimace.
Recovering from his stupor, All Might nodded and rushed forward towards Nomu who was on one knee, blood dripping from his left hand as he held his wound. ''Detroit…'' He raised his right fist, channeling a great amount of OFA to it as he neared. ''SMASH!'' He threw his fist down on the creature.
But to everyone's shock, Nomu wasn't there after the strike, leaving the wind pressure from the blow to travel and crash into a rock formation in the mountain zone. ''What?'' The blond expressed surprise and frustration.
''Master Tomura!'' The leader snapped out of his stupor and looked to see Kurogiri on his feet while next to him, Nomu was on the ground, growling in pain. ''Nomu's in no shape to continue, we need to leave!'' He advised with haste.
Normally, Tomura would be angered at the thought of someone other than his master giving him an order, but given that this was a terrible scenario to be in, he agreed. ''Fine.'' The mist villain nodded and transported himself and Nomu away while another portal formed behind Tomura. ''Someday, the world will be rid of you All Might.'' The man said nothing and simply gave him a stern glare that didn't phase him. ''And…'' He turned his hateful gaze onto Izuku who met it with a determined one. ''I'll make sure you join him in oblivion!'' He snarled with venom before entering the portal.
''And I'll be ready for you.'' Izuku muttered before shifting to normal and falling to his knees, registering the fatigue and pain. "It's over…" He panted.
''IZUKU!''
Looking to the left he was surprised at the source of the call. Bakugou, Kirishima, and Todoroki were running at him. ''What the hell happened!?'' The blond prodded as he knelt beside him to eye his injuries.
With a tired chuckle, Izuku smiled reassuringly at him. ''Long story.'' He grunted as he was supported by Kirishima. "But what happened to you guys?'' His gaze shifted to Todoroki who was taking in the area.
While not liking the change of topic, Bakugou decided to let it go for now. ''Shitty hair and I got sent to the Ruins Zone.'' He cracked his neck. ''Got delayed by a bunch of fodder but managed to make a break for it.'' He pointed a thumb towards Todoroki. ''After that, we tried to circle to the plaza but ended up bumping into him and a bunch of frozen villains.'' He then narrowed his eyes on him. ''And a nearly frozen classmate.''
''I didn't know she was there.'' Despite his stoic reply, they could tell that Todoroki felt bad about it as he looked down. ''I'll be more careful next time.'' He whispered but was heard.
Bakugou grunted with a nod. ''Good, but tell that to Invisible Girl when this is over.'' The bi-colored teen nodded in agreement. ''Anyways, after telling her to hide in case more grunts show up, the three of us followed this loud ass roar coming from the plaza.'' He crossed his arms with a scowl. ''Thought it was you at first, but it sounded too monstrous to be you.''
''But just before we got close, there was this powerful wind pressure stopping us from going in.'' Kirishima cut in, gaining their attention. ''Bakugou couldn't fly without being blown away and I would've just been knocked around, even with my hardening.''
Izuku chuckled. ''I can imagine.'' He formed a tired grin. ''I'm just glad you're ok.''
Bakugou snorted. "We should be the ones saying that to you." His indignant tone got a chuckle out of his friend. "Now come on, let's get you to the others."
"No need for that." All Might chimed in as he stepped in. " Young Midoriya took a beating before we arrived; I'll take him to Recover Girl for treatment." He calmly gestured for Kirishima to hand over the teen, the latter doing it but was shocked at the idea of Midoriya being beaten.
While visibly alarmed by the information, Bakugou composed himself to quickly reply. "Got it." He eyed his friend with frustrated concern. Just what the fuck happened here? Did the big guy do this to him?
"Wait." Izuku grunted out as his mentor carried him in his arms. "You don't have to go so far for me." Despite his assurance, it looked difficult for him to move.
"From the looks of things, you've done enough Midoriya." This time it was Todoroki who spoke. "While I don't know the full extent of your injuries, I can tell you're exhausted."
Bakugou hummed in agreement. "He's right, just go with All Might and focus on recovering. "We'll be fine from here." He then smirked a little. "And don't forget to tell me who kicked your ass."
At that, Izuku chortled. "It'll be quite the story, but I have a feeling Toga and the others will have it ready when you group up with them." He said before his smile lowered upon realizing something. "Hey, about Toga-"
Bakugou raised a hand. "I'll calm her down and tell her you're just exhausted." He got close and raised a fist to him. "Just don't be surprised if she breaks into your hospital room to check for herself." He joked in a knowing tone.
With a grateful smile, Izuku bumped his fist. "Then I better leave a window open for her." His remark got a laugh from his friends and All Might. Todoroki simply smiled while internally impressed with his spirit. "Thank you, Bakugou."
"Yeah, yeah." The explosive teen waved a hand with a smirk. "Stop getting mushy on me and get better." Izuku laughed while All Might smiled at the comradery before speeding away with the teen. Spooking the students at the entrance but was calmed by Nezu.
Kirishima eyed the top of the stairs for a moment before speaking. "Your friend is awesome." He said in an impressed tone.
Bakugou huffed before smirking at him. "That's one way of putting it." He then walked ahead. "Just don't tell him I agreed with you, he'll keep bringing it up."
With a chuckle, Kirishima followed. "Whatever you say, bro."
Todoroki watched them go before looking at the scene one more time before following, his expression contemplating.
USJ GROUNDS-STAIRS-AFTER THE EXPLANATION
After a tearful reunion with Toga, the trio was bombarded with questions. But Nezu advised to hold off on the explanation until everyone was gathered, to which they agreed.
The first group to arrive was Snipe, accompanied by Tsuyu and Seaweed's group. After informing the principal of what happened, Nezu advised the amphibian teen to join the pro to avoid any misunderstandings. Which proved to be a wise decision, her presence helped assure them that this wasn't an elaborate ruse to apprehend them.
Upon everyone's surprise, Tsuyu took the chance to explain what happened while waiting for the others to arrive. And by the end of it, they were incredibly moved by Izuku's faith in people.
When everyone had finally gathered, Seaweed's group was set aside far enough to not let them hear the conversation before Bakugou reported about Izuku's status while Tsuyu explained what they were able to learn about the attack.
By the end of the explanation, both students and teachers were visibly alarmed by the information. The pros especially were bothered by this due to the Symbol's time limit, it would have been a disaster if Nomu had fought him for long.
"Made to fight All Might…" Momo whispered in disbelief. "It doesn't seem possible." The thought of something that powerful being produced didn't sound real.
Mezo sighed. "Impossible or not, it happened. Nomu took All Might's smashes like they were nothing." If it weren't for Izuku's discovery of the weak spot, this day would have been tragic. "He even healed from injuries that would have killed a normal person." The memory alone sent unease through him and those who witnessed it.
"He's the secret weapon." Todoroki's comment earned curious looks. "The villains I trapped in the Landslide Zone mentioned a secret weapon with them that would kill All Might." He gazed at the battlefield. "I didn't want to believe it, but I was proven wrong."
Nezu shook his head looking disappointed. "A shame science was used in such a way." He then smiled a little. "But on the bright side, thanks to All Might and Midoriya's efforts, we now know Nomu's weakness and will be better prepared the next time we encounter him." His expression turned neutral. "Or any more like him."
"And to think Midoriya fought that thing on his own at first." Kaminari said with a wince. "He's really strong."
Jiro huffed with her arms crossed. "Understatement of the day 'Jamming Yay'." The nickname earned embarrassed indignation from the electric user, not that she cared. "Still, I'm glad the big guy made it in one piece." She added with a relieved smile.
While everyone else voiced their agreement, Tokoyami nodded with a hum. "Truly a man with endless determination." He could only imagine how strong-willed the past Midoriya's must have been.
Ida on the other hand was ashamed as he looked down. "I should have gotten here sooner." He clenched his fists. "I failed to uphold the trust he gave me as the representative."
A comforting hand was placed on his arm, making him look to see Ochako. "You couldn't have known things would happen the way they did." She gently squeezed his arm. "No one here blames you for what happened today." The tall teen looked hesitant to agree.
"Izuku wouldn't want you to blame yourself for things out of your control." Toga chimed in with a look of understanding.
The tall teen was still unsure but after mulling over her words and the reassuring look his classmates were giving him, he eventually nodded with a small smile. "Thank you."
While glad that things were settled with their representative, Ojiro remained tense and glanced at the battlefield. "Will he come back?"
"Unlikely." Nezu calmly answered. "The villains lost much of their resources on this operation. And with their secret weapon heavily damaged, likely, they wouldn't try something similar so soon after being discovered." He gripped his chin. "They'll need to regroup, but who knows how long that'll take."
While glad that there wouldn't be a counterattack soon, they were still concerned about another encounter with Nomu, especially if All Might wouldn't be there to help them.
From there the students began to share what they experienced during their separation (something that Jiro thoroughly enjoyed as she and Momo giggled at how embarrassed Kaminari was getting). Meanwhile, the adults began to discuss what they needed to do from here and planned out what to discuss with the authorities.
Just then, the sound of sirens filled the air as ambulances and police vehicles arrived outside the entrance. Medics rushed out of their vehicles and gently placed the fallen heroes on stretchers before loading them into their respective medical transport.
As Detective Naomasa entered with a small squad of police, Nemuri and Hizashi rushed past him to board Aizawa's ambulance. "I'm sorry for the delay, there was traffic caused by your fights with the decoys."
"On behalf of the staff, I apologize for the inconvenience. We needed to reach the students as fast as possible." The principal bowed, as did the other pros.
The detective kindly gestured for them to straighten up. "No need to apologize, the brass understood the stakes and will prepare a statement for the press later." He explained as he did a head count, frowning when he didn't spot Izuku.
"In that case, I'll be more than happy to help explain what happened." Nezu said before noting the man's expression. "Midoriya's fine, he's currently being carried by All Might to Recovery Girl for treatment." The detective appeared to be alarmed so he continued. "Some bruising and fatigue from what I know, but thankfully nothing serious."
At that, Naomasa let out a relieved sigh. "That's a relief." His gaze shifted to Seaweed's group, causing him to frown. "Why are they here?" His stern tone made the four tense, having their run-ins with the man.
"Kero, I can explain." Tsuyu stepped forward. "They helped me and Izuku restrain the villains we defeated." Her words took him aback. "The only reason they're here was because Tomura threatened death or worse if they didn't cooperate." She wrung her hands together. "While they also had their reasons for being here. Izuku saw good in them and gave them a chance." She awkwardly glanced away. "If he were here, he would have vouched for them."
"They were nervous when they saw me, but I could tell that they were trying to be sincere in cooperating." Snipe cut in with sincerity. "Didn't even need to restrain them with how calm they are." He added as Tsuyu nodded in confirmation.
While the other officers didn't look convinced, Naomasa was in thought. In his younger days, he had a black-and-white view of criminals. But ever since he met Izuku and learned of the injustices his family experienced, that changed.
And while he trusted the OFA user's judgment, he still needed to be sure.
With a composed expression, he made his way to the seated individuals and knelt in front of them. "Be honest with me." His words drew intrigued looks. "Aside from being threatened to cooperate, what other reason did you guys have to be here?" He questioned with a serious look as he activated his quirk.
The four hesitated but knew better than to lie to the detective, especially after being given a chance. "Well…" Dolphin carefully spoke first. "I came here because I thought I'd get paid." He shrugged. "Stupid in retrospect, but I needed the money for…" He paused before letting out a resigned sigh. "My daughter's education." He looked down.
"While noble, there could have been other ways to earn money." Ectoplasm calmly but firmly pointed out.
At that, Dolphin snorted. "Tried that for a while." He gave the man a tired glare. "But it's next to impossible to have an honest living when the interviewer judges you based on records of your past." He sighed. "Don't get me wrong, I was a dumb kid for thinking I could get away with theft, but a lot has changed since then." He let out a humorless laugh and looked away. "Not that it mattered, those stupid suits didn't even give me a chance."
The detective's expression remained neutral as he turned his gaze to Seaweed who looked uncomfortable before sighing. "I don't have a noble goal like him." She looked down with a frown. "I came here to use my quirk."
Naomasa's frown deepened from the lie detected. "I understand that you don't fully trust us, but we need you to be honest here." His expression softened a little. "Do you want to waste the chance Izuku gave you?"
At that, Seaweed was reminded of what the teen said to her before shaking her head. "No. I wouldn't." She sighed. "Long ago, I wanted to become a hero for the longest time." She shrugged. "But there would always be jack assess saying that my quirk was too weak and boring to be heroic." The teens were displeased with their reasoning and had an idea where this was going. "One day, a group of them ambushed me and decided that picking on me was going to be worth their time."
She paused for a moment, remembering that day before sighing. "I…snapped that day." She looked up at the ceiling with a frown. "After the bull I went through, I had enough." She gazed at the ground. "I didn't kill them, but my chances of becoming a hero died that day." She shook her head. "They spread the word of what I did and it didn't help that there were witnesses." She clenched her fists. "I was treated like a freak, a bomb that would go off if they so much as looked in my direction. And that's nothing to how it affected my relationship with my family." She huffed before scowling at the detective. "Since then, I realized that doing things for myself was worth more than helping people."
Naomasa kept his expression neutral as he nodded and turned to the remaining grunts. "And you two?" Behind him, Nezu rubbed his chin as he went in thought.
The two glanced at each other before giving him an awkward look. "W-Well, minus the daughter, our goals are pretty much the same as Dolphin." Pufferfish explained with a shrug. "Even with useful quirks for underwater jobs, they didn't accept us due to records of my crimes." The detective nodded; he figured as much.
A tense silence followed as Naomasa contemplated before speaking. "Now that I understand, I'd rather not put either of you behind bars." The four stared at him in shock. "But, your presence in the attack complicates things." He crossed his arms in thought as they became downcast.
Nezu cleared his throat. "If I may..." He chimed in. "Since an official report hasn't been filed yet, I believe I can clear things up with your upper brass." Everyone was taken aback. "And since they hadn't inflicted harm on anyone today and assisted, they'll be more than willing to listen to their circumstances."
"Y-You mean…you'll clear our records?" Pufferfish couldn't help but ask as they stared at the principal with hope igniting in them.
"If things go as planned, then yes." His calm answer caused them to look at each other in disbelief. "But I can't promise immediate results, your involvement here and records may prolong the discussion."
The Shark grunt nodded in understanding. "We understand, it's better than things remaining as they are."
"Agreed." Naomasa nodded. "Now we'll still take you in for questioning, we'll need every bit of information about what happened here." The group became uneasy, seeing this he quickly added. "Don't worry, we won't group you up with the others. Since they were knocked out, they'll just think all of you escaped or were imprisoned somewhere else."
Pufferfish looked beyond relieved. "That's good." He shivered at the thought of being bunkmates with Hanzo. "But what if Shigaraki comes after us?" His fears were shared with the others.
Nezu hummed. "Did he ever ask for your names or personally get to know you?" They shook their heads. "If he didn't care to know his resources, then there shouldn't be a risk of being hunted." He paused for a moment. "But just in case, I believe all of you should be put under protection, just until things calm down." The group looked at each other before agreeing to his terms.
"Then we're in agreement." Naomasa turned to the officers. "Cuff them and bring them to base for debriefing." While uncertain they knew better than to doubt Naomasa and the head of U.A. so they agreed.
As Seaweed got to her feet, she needed to clear things up. "Wait." The pros and students looked at her. "Why are you doing this for us? We haven't done anything for you." It all sounded too good to be true.
Nezu gave her a kind smile. "Because it would simply be a waste to cast aside those who want to change for the better." His answer made her look down in thought. "And since a pure-hearted individual vouched for all of you, who am I to deny the potential?"
At that, the group was stunned as they felt the full weight of those words. To think Izuku opened the path to redemption that was long thought to be impossible.
Like life itself was giving them another chance.
"But be warned." Nezu's words snapped them out of their stupor. "If you were to abuse the trust of my student." His smile became unnerving. "Rest assured, there will be consequences." Although causal, the cold aura emanating from his warning unnerved both pros and students alike.
With a bit of sweat, Seaweed frantically nodded along with everyone else. "R-Right!" Dolphin stammered, already planning to fully cooperate for his and daughter's sake.
"Excellent!" Nezu chirped with a pleased clap. Causing most to sweatdrop from his mood's rapid shift.
As the police began to escort the four, Seaweed suddenly stopped and looked at the students. "Tell Izuku, thanks for giving us a chance." The other grunts stopped to look at them with the same gratefulness.
"We will." Momo kindly responded while Ida nodded as everyone else verbally agreed and wished them luck.
With a nod, the group willingly followed the authorities to their vehicles.
Bakugou watched them go with a smirk, proud of what his friend had accomplished before his attention was drawn to Toga who was staring at the entrance with a worried frown. "He'll be fine, the big guy just needs rest." He calmly assured them with a hand on her shoulder.
The blonde nodded and placed her hand on top of his. "I can't help but worry about him." She admitted before looking at him with a miserable look that hurt.
"I know." The explosive blond answered in understanding before pulling her into a hug that she accepted. "Tell you what, the moment we're given the all-clear, we'll visit him together." A quick nod was her response. "Okay then." He soothingly rubbed her back. Those who saw the two kindly chose to leave them be.
MEANWHILE-U.A. GROUNDS-RECOVERY GIRL'S CLINIC
"You picked a good one, Toshinori." The elderly heroine exclaimed with a fond smile as she monitored the sleeping teen. The latter had passed out after being treated with her quirk after applying the proper medical care.
Toshinori in his true form smiled as he petted the teen's head. "I know." He whispered before sighing and walking away from the bed to stare out the window.
The action caused Chiyo to look at him in confusion. "What's wrong?"
For what felt like a long time, the man said nothing as he continued to stare out into the world with a hardened expression. And just before the elder heroine had enough of the silence, he let out a tired sigh. "... he's making a move Chiyo." He said in a grave tone.
In an instant, the heroine paled as she felt a chill up her spine before glancing at the slumbering teen in fear and worry. "What are you going to do?"
With clenched fists, Toshinori looked back at his successor with an aura of resolve. "Prepare him." Chiyo could only nod and hope for the best.
AT THE SAME TIME-IN AN UNKNOWN LOCATION
"DAMNIT!" A partially decayed chair was thrown at a wall, shattering the seat upon contact.
Behind the raging man-child, Kurogiri watched in a tense silence behind a bar table while next to the table, on the floor and unresponsive, Nomu.
With a yell, Shigaraki decayed a table before violently throwing what was left to the side! "WE WERE SO CLOSE!" He barked as he gripped his hair. "HE WAS RIGHT THERE! WE COULD HAVE KILLED HIM!" He exclaimed while releasing his hair, causing some strands to fall in the process.
"Master Shigaraki." Kurogiri held back a flinch when the man stilled. "Y-You need to calm-"
This time the warp villain couldn't hide a flinch when the villain snapped at him with a killer glare. "Don't you...DARE!" He began to march towards him. "Tell me to calm down!" The decay villain slammed his fist on the table and pointed at him. "We could have won that fight if you hadn't been knocked out!" And teleport that brat into the ocean while he was at it!
Knowing that there wasn't a way to refuse his statement, Kurogiri merely looked down and resigned himself to the same inevitable fate of those who "failed" his master.
On any day, Tomura would be pleased by the display of submission, but now it just angered and disgusted him. "Since we're back in base…" He said in a low and sinister tone as he slowly began to reach forward with his right hand. "I have no reason to keep you around." Despite this, the bartender made no move to escape as he waited for his demise.
"Enough, Tomura."
With a jolt, both snapped towards a wall console with a speaker and a darkened screen above. "Master!" At once, Tomura went on one knee while Kurogiri stood in attention, as did Nomu despite the injuries.
"While your defeat was unfortunate, you know better than to take it out on your subordinates." While the voice was calm, there was an admonishing tone to it. "Never waste a resource, especially critical ones like Kurogiri." He paused to let his words sink in. "But if you must, only cast away the expendable ones, but be mindful of how much you can."
Tomura nodded, his head low in shame. "Yes master, I apologize." He then glanced at Nomu in frustration. "The data was wrong, master, All Might is…" He paused with gritted teeth. "Far more powerful than predicted." As much as he hated to admit it, it was a fact, that blond idiot was still a problem.
His master hummed. "It seems so." While he agreed, he didn't sound concerned. "But it wasn't a complete loss, Nomu had managed to survive and will be invaluable for another strike against the heroes." He chuckled in amusement.
While Tomura agreed, he didn't look all that pleased as he merely nodded, his gaze to the ground. Seeing this through the camera installed on the console, his master spoke. "Listen well, Tomura." The decay villain lifted his head. "Failure is a constant factor in life. In everything you do, there is always a chance of it happening, no matter how well prepared you are." He gently said in a wise tone. "Never allow such things to discourage you, only learn from them. And use those lessons to fuel your desires."
Tomura took the time to take in his wisdom before nodding. "Thank you, master." He stood with a look of resolve. "I'll take your words to heart."
"Very good." The man answered with a pleased and proud tone. "Kurogiri, send Nomu back to the lab. I'm certain the good doctor's been anxiously waiting to treat him."
As the warp villain nodded and followed as instructed, Tomura calmed himself. "We lost today, but we'll kill him eventually." He narrowed his eyes. "And that mini-boss too."
Just before he could end the call, his master paused. "Mini-boss?"
Tomura nodded as he took a seat at the bar. "Yes master, it was a U.A. brat that could turn into monsters." He huffed in frustration as put his arms on the table while Kurogiri began to clean up. "If it weren't for him, All Might would have been dead by now." He spat with venom in his voice.
In his office, AFO leaned forward in his seat. Elbows on the table and his hands clasped together, interest piqued. "Tell me more."
Author's Notes:
1. Sorry for the chapter being incredibly long, I couldn't decide if I should split the chapter so I opted to just jam it all here. XD
2. And sorry also for the delay, apart from the length of the chapter, life, and work have been in the way.
3. Also to those who thought that the Red King fight was too one-sided. Keep in mind, this is the first Kaiju in Izuku's arsenal that didn't have an in-depth study or past family battles to reference.
4. If you spot any errors, please don't be shy to comment, I'll fix them.
5. And feel free to suggest any Ultraman Kaiju that you'd like to see.
THANK YOU FOR READING, PLUS ULTRA!
