Chapter Four: "Orders End"

Jason raced across Limbo CIty along the rooftops till he arrives across the street to the Order HQ. He sees the police surround the area as SWAT just arrive, meaning the broadcast Barbas did wasn't live like Jason had thought.

"They're not in yet", Jason notes about the assault team, "I've got to get to them first", he soon notices the alley was empty for Jason to enter, "Hang in there guys, I'm on my way.".

Jason slides down the tile roof and jumps to the alley. As he does, Jason enters Limbo again.

'KILL DANTE', Limbo shows him. The alley is closed off as cars are forced to block the way, with several Stygians spawning in to fight Jason.

Jason decided to use Aquila for this battle. He curve throws one out and three slashes appear to slice his foes. He repeats the process and many more than what he throws appears to attack. It's like they multiply for attacks.

Jason tossed them at the group of Stygians and they got stuck in them before pulling the enemies to Jason, landing at his feet as Aquila automatically appears in his hands.

He then spins around and becomes a blade Tornado, pulling them into him like a blender. They are sliced and iced till they die at his hands.

The black stuff around the cars disappears, but two massive circular saws slice into and are thrown away to reveal another demon.

"And who are you, fuck nut?", Jason asks the demon.

The demon has two large buzzsaws in place of either hand. In the center of their mechanized stomach sits an orange sphere, housing a vaguely humanoid face that looks out at the world. Their size is comparable to that of a Tyrant, and their frame gives them a wide reach.

This demon is referred to as a Butcher.

Jason rushes at and the demon prepares a double swipe from its saws, going from its right to its left. Jason ducks under the first saw, jumps up over the second onto the alley wall and over the demon into the more open area of the alley.

Jason tried shooting it, but that absolutely nothing. the Butcher launches axe blade through the air at him, similar to Rebellion's Drive or Arbiter's Flush, or even Aquila.

Jason rushes the orange orb on its stomach and uses Stinger and Trillion Stab on it, which appears to be effective. The Butcher brings down its left saw and Jason evades away from it, its dangerous to be so close to fight it, but it appears only his Arms seem to do any damage.

The Butcher does and upward sweep, sending says in a vertical path to Jason, which he evades with ease.

Jason decides to use Drive/Overdrive and Flush to attack the belly from a distance, with Aquila bouncing off like Ebony and Ivory's bullets do. The repeated these attacks while dodging the Butchers own. It entered a berserker state as it neared death but its death was inevitable as Jason finishes it while it dies with a roar.

Four Stygians then spawn in and Jason uses Aquila to herd them and slice them to ribbons.

Limbo then closes off the way out of the alley as the black stuff swarms the building, 'INFECT', it shows.

"Dammit. They're breaking in from Limbo too", Jason swears but notices the blue vines a few stories up. This would allow him to get inside.

Looking around Jason Angel Lifts to the scaffolding to the right of the alley's exit. h then Angel Lifts to the other scaffolding on the other side of the alley exit before Angel Lifting to a platform that was across from the vines.

The vines were to far from where he was for Osiris to cut them and there was no platform before the vines. Jason brings out Aquila and charges his attack before throwing them at the vines.

Spinning blades roughly 3 meters in diameter hits the vines and continuously slices into them, even though Aquila has already returned to Jason's hands. Once the vines were completely cut, the Round Trip ended.

Jason Angel Lifts into the building, "Where are you guys?", Jason asks as he lands in a small room he hasn't seen.

There were red crystals that were in the left corner from where Jason entered so he smashes through with Eryx. The room he entered had red crystals on the floor and a Divinity Statue in the far left corner from where he entered.

After using the Divinity Statue for Aquila, Jason Stomps through the red crystals. He enters another room, this time having th blue vines again against the wall by the windows.

He slices through with Aquila again as is greeted by a hall with no floor and more blue veins on the other side of the hall.

Jason Round trips the other vines before Angel Boosting over and finding a Lost Soul. He deals with it and jumps down n the halls missing floor.

He drops into yet another room before smashing through another red crystalled door.

Here, Jason briefly sees into the human world, appearing as the whitish astral form he sees Kat as in Limbo. He sees a man being chased by SWAT and Jason calls out to him.

"Hey, can you hear...", Jason calls to him but the Swat calls out, "Don't shoot!", he is shot in the back by SWAT even though he was unarmed and he falls dead, "Damn!", Jason swears.

His vision refocused onto Limbo and he calls out, "Kat!", hoping she'll hear him, "Where are you?", he runs forward into another small room with red crystals on the floor and Stomps through it.

He lands into a small hall and he hears a Butcher cutting. Jason moves forward into another room and smashes through into a bigger room where he sees the Butcher trying to cut through a steel door, but sigils were stopping it.

"The graffiti is keeping them out", Jason notes, "Nice work Kat", he compliments her before calling out to the demon, "Hey, over here saw boy!"

'KILL DANTE', Limbo shows as four Stygians appear while the Butcher turns to face Jason.

Jason focused on dealing with the Stygians using Aquila while dodging attacks from the Butcher. When the small fry were dead, Jason launched the Drive and Flush at Butcher till it keeled over.

After its defeat, a Tyrant and a Witch spawn in.

Jason ues Round Trip on the Witch and her shield while getting behind the Tyrant and Demon Pulling its spine. The Witch's shield breaks so Jason sends another Round Trip while using Eryx on the Tyrant.

The Witch regains her shield but then sends it over the Tyrant, protecting the bigger demon. Jason then decided to focus on the Witch, bombarding her with Aquila attacks till she dies.

With that, Jason focuses on the Tyrant with Eryx. He uses charged attacks to summon the giant flaming fists to hurt the Tyrant, with the hefy demon soon falling.

Jason looks to the metal door to see shadows of the SWAT in the human world surrounding it.

"The female has locked the perimeter doors", he heard them call out, "We're blasting them open", they say, while Limbo reads 'INVADE' to Jason, "Armed!", they dck away before the door is blasted open, "Go!", they call out and head inside, "Remember, dead or alive. Which means dead".

"Cowards!", Jason was hot on their heels.

"Another door", SWAT calls out. Limbo reds, 'BITCH IS NEAR'. "Ready?", SWAT asks for confirmation from the other SWAT members, "3...2...1", they blow this door, "Proceed".

Jason runs ahead, "Kat! Are you there?", he calls out for Kat, "Stay outta sight, ya hear?", before saying to himself, "I gotta get to her first", he then arrives to a more open area.

The assault team go to blow this door but they couldn't.

"That's right Kat, you keep them out", Jason encourages while the SWAT call for a Demo Squad.

'YOU CAN"T SAVE HER', Limbo shows him before four Stygians and four Shield Bathos spawn into the room.

Jason Demon Pulls the shields and Angel Lifts to the Bathos and uses Aquila's Skirmish to defeat them. Then, he focused on the Stygians using Killer before doing a Buy In and finishing them with a Tornado.

'WHORE"S GONNA DIE', Limbo shows as blue vines become visible for Jason.

Jason uses Aquila's charged Round Trip to cut them before Angel Lifting up through, getting ahead of the human world raid.

He enters a computer room and is greeted by Demonic Shards as the path closes up again, 'TRAP HIM', Limbo taunts.

"No! NO! Not now!", Jason angrily gripes with Limbo as he shoots the Demonic Shards to nothing.

Shield Bathos then appears. Jason Demon Pulls the shields and shoots them to relieve some aggression.

When they die, more Bathos and some Stygians spawn in. jason deals with the Bathos in the same method as before before then attacking the Stygians with Aquila.

Once they died, two Shield Pathos and two Ravagers appear, pissing Jason off.

He deals with the Pathos in the tried and true method before boxing with the Ravagers using Eryx, with the charged attacks keeping the demons out of their berserk state.

Once the Ravagers were dead, Jason's path opened up and he ran on through.

"Kat! Are you here?, Jason calls out, he heard other Order members, "Get out of here! The place is overrun", he tries to tell them as he ran through the maze of corridors, "Dammit! Can anybody hear me?!"

Jason soon stumbles upon a Divinity Statue and uses it to upgrade his Arms before moving forward in search of Kat.

Just his luck, Jason arrives at the same time as the SWAT to another door, they soon enter through and Jason is greeted by another Butcher trying to cut through another sigiled steel door.

'YOU CAN'T SAVE HER', Limbo taunted him.

"Hey, who are you looking for, shitheads?!", Jason calls out to the Butcher as Lesser Stygians also appear.

Jason used Aquila's Big Slick to take the L Stygians into the air where he proceed to skirmish them to death. With them gone, Jason can focus on the Butcher, using Overdrive and Flush to whittle it down till it died.

Jason looks to his blocked path till he heard a sound. Turning around he saw a new demon.

It wore tattered tasset around its waist, armor up the right side of its torso and down its right arm, and it wore red grinning mask on its head. The demon held a sword in each hand. This was a Drekavac.

"What are you smiling at?", Jason calls out to it.

It then rushes Jason, who then shoots at it, but it uses its swords to deflect and redirect every shot before it jumps through a reflective portal before Jason and disappears. Jason then looks around the area in search of his new foe before he hears the same sound as before from behind him and he jumps away as the Drekavac dive attacks from the portal.

"It's on, bitch!", Jason challenges the swords-demon.

Jason goes to clash with the demon, but it blocked Rebellion's attacks before pushing Jason off and slashing at him. It goes for another slash, but Jason cuts up with Arbiter, knocking it back and he follows up with Brawler from Eryx, beating the demon into and against the wall.

It gets out of it and portals around again. Jason jumps before it could get him. It went on blocking his attacks till Jason was able to hit it with a fully charged uppercut and they went into the air before he then hit it back with a Showdown.

Once he beat it enough, it decided to retreat.

"What? Hey, get back here!", Jason calls out for it, but it didn't return. Sighing, Jason just continues forward to find Kat, "What in the hell was that?"

He arrives into another room and sees Kat's astral form to the left side, "Kat... Kat!", drawing her attention.

"Dante?", she then runs up to him.

"I'm here", he tries to comfort her as she takes a breath.

"I don't know what to do", she shakily tells him.

"Where's Vergil?", he asks her as he doesn't see his twin anywhere.

"I don't know", she tries to think, "He's probably in the- in the server room, the Octagon. But he might be trapped in Limbo".

"How do we get to him?", Jason asks.

"i don't know", Kat cries, "I'm stuck in here".

Is there something I can do from Limbo to break you out?", Jason asks, she quietens, "Think!"

"There may be a way", Kat calms down, "I'll guide you", and she takes out a spray can.

Jason is now astral in the human world as Kat approaches a wall, "I think there's an old tunnel through here, " and begins to spray red onto it, "Maybe we can get out that way" before a boom comes from the door.

"We need another charge!", they hear from the other side of the still sealed door.

"They're breaking in", Jason warns Kat.

She thinks for a moment", I've got an idea!", and runs towards the door.

"I'm stuck in Limbo, I can't stop them from here", Jason reminds her.

"Yes you can", she tells him, "I spray, you bring the roof down", as she sprays some red onto the left side support pillar, "There. Now pull it", she instructs him.

Jason ues his Ophian to Demon Pull the pillar and it partially collapses, "Do it again", he tells her and she heads for the right hand support and sprays it.

"Quickly! The girl's in there!", they hear the raid team call out from the otherside.

"Okay, same again", Kat instructs and Jason Demon Pulls it as the SWAT breach the door, only for the ceiling to fall before them, keeping Kat safe from them.

"You okay?", Jason asks Kat as she had fallen over from the collapsing ceiling.

"Yeah", she sighs as she gets to her feet, "Come on", and she runs back to the wall she was working on. She finishes the red circle, "Let's go", she says and Jason Demon Pulls on the wall, causing it to fall in.

The duo than ran into the tunnel.

"Do you know where this goes?", Jason asks her, not wanting them to get surprised.

"I know this place like the back of my hand", Kat shares with him.

They run into another wall and Kat sprays red onto it for Jason to Demon Pull.

"Come on", Kat tells him before they run up some stairs to a sealed door. Kat puts in her code and the doors open.

They move through to a hall but another door at the other end is breached by the raiders.

"Hide. Quick", Jason directs her to a gap in the other wall.

Kat runs into it and hides, remaining still and quiet as the SWAT runs down the hall.

"Stay there. I don't think he saw you", Jason tells her.

"Hey! Wait! I think I saw something", the man says as he approaches Kat's hiding hole.

"Shit! Kat, stay very still", Jason instructs her.

It was a tense few seconds before another SWAt officer says, "Leave it! The girl's up ahead, we need to move", so they left her alone.

"He's gone", Jason tells her, with Kat peaking out to check, "Let's go", she crawls out, "You Ok Kat?", he asks her as they moved down the hall.

"Yeah. I'm okay", she responds.

They continue up till they come across a single steel door where Kat input her code. It opens and they head through it and then run further along till they come across some SWAT holding Order members at gunpoint on their knees.

"Hands on your head FACE DOWN!", the SWAT orders them, but before they can comply, they are shot by the SWAT.

"Kat, get out of sight, now!", Jason commands and she runs across the hall.

An Order member tries to run for it after seeing Kat, "He's running! Get him!", and fire on him.

"No, AGH!", the Order member cries before he falls dead.

"Quick! Get in that room and hide!", Jason tells her and she slips into the room while the SWAT head over the body and double taps him.

"I told you not to run", the SWAT says to the dead body.

Kat trips and crawls into the room. A SWAT hears her and aims through the gap in the wall towards her.

"Dammit! He's coming in!", Jason tells her.

Kat quickly gets to a computer stand and begins to spray on it.

"What are you doing?", Jason asks her.

She finishes the red circle as the SWAT man enters the room and spots her.

"Hey you! Hands on your head!", he orders Kat and she holds her hands up, "I've got the girl", the SWAT man says in his radio as he walks before the console.

"And I've got you, motherfucker", Jason quips as he Demon Pulls the console and sends it flying into the SWAT officer, sending him into a wall.

"Good work", Jason praises Kat on her idea.

"Come one, it's this way", Kat says as they leave the room, "Why do they have to kill everyone?", she asks as they pass the bodies.

"We're terrorists, remember?", Jason says.

"Those were my friends... I feel sick...", Kat woefully says as she tears up.

"They'll pay for this", Jason promises her, "but right, now, we've gotta find Vergil".

They approach another steel door, "Through here", she tells him and she punches in her code.

They then head down a series of stairs to another door and code before entering the room where Jason first reunited with Vergil. They ran pass his desk and chair, that weirldy had these lifesize angel women statues on the back of it, to the bookcase where the secret entrance was open to a back room that was a tomb to a bigger room with a circled sigil over it, this was the server room.

"Dante... Vergil's trapped in Limbo.", Kat says as Jason's sight readjusts to Limbo and sees a Butcher trying to get into the server room to Vergil, "He's in trouble!".

Thankfully, the sigils were keeping Vergil safe from the Butcher. If he fights, it will reveal to Mundus that he is also a Son of Sparda, a Nephalem.

"Hey you", Jason calls out to the Butcher, bringing its attention to him.

"Dante!", Vergil calls out, realizing her's here, "Are you crazy? What are you doing here?"

"Busting you outta here!", Jason yells as the Butcher launched a saw attack at his feet.

Jason used a well timed attack with Arbiter to stop the saws from hitting him. He then uses Flush on its belly-face. He then rushes in with Eryx and boxes the orange orb, evading any downward attack before rushing back into to hit it. The Butcher enters its berserk state, but Jason powered through and finishes it.

With that, Vergil walks up to him, "Thank you, Dante", he then notices Kat approach, "Kat? You're still alive!", sounding very surprised.

"Is there a way out of here?", Jason asks Vergil.

"Yes, there's an emergency gate. I'll take you there", Vergil informs.

"Let's go", Jason commands as they are in a hurry.

"No, not yet", Vergil denies him.

"What?", Jason asks, baffled.

"There are terabytes of sensitive data here. We cannot let them get their hands on it", Vergil shares, looking back to the servers.

"What does it matter?", Jason dismissed the idea, wanting to get Kat to safety.

Vergi l turned back to him, stalking forward, "They'd know everything about our plans. If they get their hands on that data, everything that I worked for will be for nothing!", he then turns to Kat, "Kat!".

"Yes?", she states.

"Arm self-destruct. I can't do it from Limbo", Vergil orders and she gets to work.

They hear a noise at the door and see a plasma cutter cutting in.

"They're cutting through", Kat worried.

"The demons are breaking in!", Jason states, "We don't have time for this!", gesturing to the servers.

"Then make time, Dante!", Vergil yells at him.

"Shit, Vergil!", Jason exclaims as he turns away, not wanting to deal with this bullshit.

"Kat - Do it now!", Vergil orders Kat and she begins the process, "This won't take long Kat, I'll help you".

Jason looks around and notices a Divinity Statue, he goes on over to upgrade his shit since he'll need the any edge if he's going to hold off the demons here.

"How long do you guys need", Jason asks them.

"Not long, couple of minutes", Vergil replies as they work, talling Kat, "Okay, boot up the system".

"KILL THEM ALL', Limbo shows as black stuff appears in one corner and some demons appear, five Stygians and two Ravagers

"They're in!", Jason calls out to Vergil and kat before rushing in to fight the demons.

He brings out Aquila since its his best ranged melee. Jason does and Aerial Buy In and then uses Skirmish till they reach the ground again. Jason then quickly uses Tornado till they are either sliced to bits or are knocked into the gap down into the abyss of the tomb.

Three Ravagers and a Butcher then spawn in. Jason jumps up and Demon Pulls a Ravager to him, using Rebellion's Aerial Rave on it repeatedly, using Angel Lift to reach it again till he finishes it. He repeats this with the other two Ravagers before moving on to the Butcher.

Jason rushes in on it with Eryx and repeatedly hits it in the orb with charged hits till it went berserk. He then switches to Arbiter till it meets its end.

Soon after, Rage Spawn swarm in the catacomb and surround Jason.

They are small fries, so Jason just uses Aquila on them, using Killer, Buy In, and Tornado till the rats were dead.

The center of the room burst out and then down before two Demonic Shards appear. Jason shoots them away, but then three more rise up before him. He shoots these ones away too, but the last one got a hit in.

"Hey, Dante", Vergil calls to him as he slides a shotgun out from the server area, "it might help".

Jason kicks it up into his hands, "Great", and gets a good look at the shotgun.

It was a sawn-off hunting shotgun made by the Order. It had an engraved frame underlining the barrel. It had no stock, just on ivory like grip. Instead of a of a break loading style, it was similar to is two pistols. Speaking of which, he can feel that he doesn't have to reload its shots, like with Ebony and Ivory.

It shall be called Revenant. After a visible ghost or living corpse that terrorizes the living.

Three more Demonic Shards rise up to attack Jason but they disappear after one shot from Revenant. four more Demonic Shards appear, with the same results after getting shot by the shotgun.

"How are you guys doing?", Jason asks how they're doing.

"Two more minutes Dante", Vergil responds.

"You said that two minutes ago!", Jason calls back, "Vergil, I can keep the demons off your back for as long as you need, but I can't protect Kat from the Feds. Step on it!".

"Understood. Two minutes", Vergil restates.

"Oh, what the fuck", Jason complains at his words as he prepares for another wave of demons, heading to the Divinity Statue to upgrade Revenant.

'TRAPPED', Limbo shows as more Rage Spawns appear.

Jason uses Revenant to shoot them, flipping the gun around him while also firing, calling it Fireworks. He even charges demonic energy into his shot, releasing a round sticky bomb onto one and it explodes int chunks. he switches to his pistols and uses Ricoshot and the bullets bounce between the Rage Spawns till they all die.

'DIE', Limbo shows as more black stuff seals the area, Harpies and Stygians appear.

Jason uses Revenant to shoot the Harpies and they fall into the hole. He uses Aquila to deal with the Stygians for group attacking. Jason sometimes switches to his Rebellion for one one wanders off from the group.

"Let me guess, two minutes?", Jason asks as he finishes this round.

"It's all set to go", Vergil responds, "I just need a minute longer to grab what I can from the servers".

"You're putting her in danger", Jason complains, worrying about Kat.

"It's OK Dante, this is important", Kat placates him.

Then, two Rages appear.

"This doesn't look good", Jason comments, getting annoyed.

One goes to jump at him over the hole but Jason shoots with Revenant, stopping the Rage midair an it falls to its death.

The other Rage then goes berserk. Jason knocks it out of that state with a parry and wails on it with Eryx till it dies.

"Come on Vergil!", Jason calls out to his twin.

"It's done", Vergil informs as they have finished.

Jason breath calms as they look to the steel door.

"They're almost through", Kat says.

"Let's go, Dante", Vergil says to Jason as he begins to walk away.

"Wait", Jason says as he notices something.

"What?", Vergil turns to him.

"What about kat?",he asks pointing to her.

"There's no way out for me in the real world", she informs him.

"No. We can't help her. Let's go", Vergil almost emotionlessly states.

"We can't just leave her", Jason tells him, she was his first friend since he left Gotham

"Think Dante!", Vergil points to his own head, "We're in Limbo, she's in the real world. This place is blow any minute."

"He's right", Kat agrees, excepting she was going to die.

"There's nothing we can do. Let's go", Vergil says like it was just another day.

"Go ahead. I'll be right behind you", Jason waves after him.

"Dante!", Vergil calls out as he turns back.

"Give me a second!", Jason yells back while pointing at his brother.

After a tense few seconds, Vergil accepts and leaves them.

Jason turns to Kat, "Okay, listen to me. We don't have much time", making sure she was paying attention, "Get down on your knees", doing so for her to follow, which she does, "Put your hands up", he does and she mirrors, " Do NOT fight back".

"I'm scared", she whimpers, "What will they do to me?"

"They need you alive because you are the closest to me and Vergil", Jason tells her, "All you need to do is hold on as long as you can. I will come back for you".

The door blows in and the SWAT swarm in.

"Don't shoot!", she cries but they clip her in her left arm anyway.

"No!", Jason yells out as she falls to the ground in pain. The men then beat on her, kicking her. "Fuck!", Jason cries as he can't do anything but watch, not even hold her hand to comfort her.

The officers then drag her away as she is unconcious. The server self-destructs and Jason runs to meet with Vergil.

He arrives as the place is beginning to collapse, Vergil was standing by the sigil gate.

"Quick. Get in!", Vergil says as the duo both get on the sigil.

They begin to transport back to the human world as Limbo collapsed the building around them. They then appear on a roof opposite the Order HQ as it blows up in segments as to not damage the surrounding area and hurt civilians.

"Come on Dante", Vergil says as they overlook the destruction, "This isn't over yet", and he goes to leave

Jason continues to look at the HQ, thinking of Kat, before following after Vergil.

Chapter End

AN: This chapter was relatively short compared to the last few, but its only two missions from DmC so that's why. The next will be based on the next three missions revolving around the child of Mundus.

As to why no oterh DC or DxD characters have appeared, I'm saving them for after Mundus' defeat in Limbo City
