Chapter Five: "Demon's Spawn"
Jason and Vergil are now within a new hideout. Both were missing their coat, with Vergil looking like Dexter Morgan as the Bay Harbour Butcher.
They have just received a video message online.
Kat appears on the screen a little limp and injured in a chair with Mundus saying, "Say the name", offscreen. Kat tries to breath and lets out tired breaths, "Say the name!", Mundus commands of her.
"Vergil...", she breathes.
Mundus' human form then walks on screen, creepy rubbing Kat's face for a moment, "Vergil.", he stands behind Kat, "I don't know who you are, or why you have been stupid enough to attack me. But I know", he grabs Kat's head, "you mean something to this girl, so I suspect this girl means something to you.", he releases her head, "I also know", he knees beside her, "you are collaborating with the Nephalem. I want the Nephalem", he shrugs to Kat, "You want the girl", he looks down the camera, "We trad their lives."
"Interesting", Vergil comments as he looks at the video from his chair.
Jason looks to him, "Interesting?".
Vergil stands up from his chair, "Mundus knows less than I thought. He knows my name, but that's it", Jason takes the time to review the footage, "nottat I am your brother, nor that I'm Nephalem."
"She's been strong holding out", Jason remarks at Kat's state.
"Yes, she did well...", Vergil comments before looking back to Jason, "but we can't save her".
Jason looks from the laptop and stands straight, "What do you mean?".
Vergil nearly chuckles, "You can't seriously thing I would trade your life for hers?".
"No, no, I'm not saying...", Jason gos while pointing to Vergil and looking away in thought.
"Apart from the fact that you're my brother, "Vergil continues over him, "you're the key to destroying Mundus!".
"I'mm not saying we trade me for her!", Jason stops Vergil from continuing, "I'm saying we offer another trade: Kat for Mundus' mistress, Lilith.".
"Why would Mundus care for one of his whores?", Vergil asked, perplexed at the idea.
"Because she carries his child", Jason answers, stunning Vergil.
"What?", he questions his younger twin, "How can you know this?"
Jason passed, "When I was heading for the tower, I met a demon named Phineas. He told me", Jason grabs Ivory and inspect sher in aggravation.
"Yes, I've heard that name", Vergil says in realization, looking away in thought, "this is amazing! We have access to Mundus' unborn child? This is exactly what we need to get him out of his lair!".
"No!", Jason slams Ivory down on a work bench, "We use this to save Kat!"
"Dante, that's madness!", Vergil exclaims as he turns back to him, "You would risk the futur of mankind for a girl?"
"Kat put herself through hell to protect us! We'll find another way to get Mundus", Jason tells him.
"Dante!", Vergil says and it was tense silence followed lasting a minute.
Jason walks up to Vergil, "I am not abandoning her."
"I can see that", the paler brother notes, "Okay. We'll do it your way, brother", Vergil relents
Vergil got to work on researching at his laptop, "There it is. Mundus' mistress, Lilith, runs an exclusive club downtown for high society", he informs his brother, "Sports personalities, rich kids, bankers, that kind of thing. Demonic substances flow freely. She hooks the pathetic weasels on the stuff, turning them into soulless demon collaborators. She'll be there tonight"
Later that night, Jason walked down an alley to the club, Devil's Dalliance. A bouncer keeping others out as he holds a clipboard. Jason goes to enter but the bouncer puts his hand on his chest to stop them.
"Woah", the bouncer utters, "You're not coming in. You're not on the list", giving a smug smile to Jason.
Jason uppercuts the bouncer and he falls over. Jason then catches the clipboard and pen that went flying before writing 'FUCK YOU' on it before dropping it on the bouncer.
"I am now", Jason quips before heading into the club.
It was dark and had show lights flashing around. Some table had glowing poles that angel dressed girls danced on. Everyone was jumping up and down as though it was a rave.
Lilith was on a overlook platform, looking over the crowd of her club.
Jason was walking through the club, pass the bar, when a dancer recognized him from time they spent together before.
"Hey, Tony!", she says from his right using his alias of Tony Redgrave, drawing his attention, "Wanna dance?", Jason pulls away though since he's on a mission, "Hey! Wait a minute," she goes around and grabs his shoulder again, "Don't ignore me! Let's dance!".
"Not now!", Jason gently pushes passed her.
"Hey!", she exclaims at being pushed, "Yeah? Well, FUCK YOU TONY!", she yells while giving him the middle finger.
Suddenly, several occupants of the club look to him with blackened eyes and black tears, "DAaaaANnTE", they groan before a spotlight shines on him.
"Dante's here?", Lilith asks as hears the collaborators, "The Son of Sparda? Whom Mundus wants dead", she smiles as Limbo begins to drag him in as the music changes and the club lightens up to an orange color, "Mundus will delight in me when I deliver his corpse.", she looks down and caresses her belly, "What do you think, little one? Should e play with him a bit first?", her belly unnaturally warps out as the child kicks and turns, "Ugh, yes, let's..."
A barrier surrounds the dance floor as demons spawn in.
"You wanna dance? Let's dance", Jason quips as Rebellion appears on his back.
He begins to attack a Death Knight as Lilith spoke.
"Dante! Son of Sparda! We don't normally let fearl rats in here, but I've heard so much about you!", she calls out through the speakers, "I'm dying to see what all the fuss is about", as he slices through some Stygians.
He soon finishes the Stygians and the Death Knight in a violent fashion.
"Ooh!", Lilith exclaims, "Temper temper Dante! Play nice," as more Stygian and a Hell Knight appear through the dance floor.
He hits the Hell Knight up with an Uppercut from Eryx and follows up with a Brawler combo and finishes with full charged Slam.
"My, what a little diva you are", Lilith taunts as Jason finishes the Stygians with Aquila.
Soon after defeating them, a Witch and more Stygian appear before him.
Jason quickly used Aquila's Round trip on the Witch due to her abilities. Her shield the broke and Jason Angel Lifts to her, before using Rebellion's combo's to finish her. He then focused on the Stygians with a combination of Aquila and Rebellion attacks till the last one fell.
"Tell me Dante, what brings your here?", Lilith asks from her elevated position, "the music? The champagne sparklers? The girls?", she sarcastically asks before going more sinister, "Or has this something to do with that scrawny little broken flower, I wonder?"
"I'm here for you Lilith!", Jason yells up to her, "so get the fuck down here!"
"Well I would, Dante but...", she takes a moment, "how can I put this... you're beneath me", smiling through her ugly face.
Limbo begins to shift again, up and out as neon wall rise around the dance floor, making it more into a nightclub arena.
"Hello my beautiful creatures, human and otherwise", Lilith announces to her guests, "From ight club to fight club! We have a special event for you tonight!", Tyrant soon burst through before Jason as Harpies fly around, "So drink up, shoot up, and place your bets! Let's get high society!"
Jason Angel Lifts to each Harpy slicing them to pieces with Rebellion before heading for the Tyrant. He Demon Pulls its spine and starts a Brawler combo with Eryx. I tsoon got up in its berserk state so Jason fully charges an Uppercut as it dive to him, knocking it out of berserk and allowing Jason to deal damage to it again. He gives it a Showdown before following with Stomp. He fully charges a Brawler to knock it out of its second berserk before finishing with a basic Brawler.
Soon after that, a Ravager and some Stygian sprout up onto the dance floor.
Jason went after the Ravager first since he viewed the chainsaw as more of a threat. He attacked it with Rebellion. Using Hacker and Death Coil on the ground, using the Ophion to keep it close, till it finally dies.
Once it's gone, he focuses on the Stygian with Aquila but finishes the last one with Rebellion.
Jason looks back up to Lilith, "You have no idea who you're dealing with, do you?"
"I'm dying to find out", Lilith says back to him, "Let's change things around a little...", and Limbo began to change again.
The speakers burst out, the wall and ceilings flew away. Soon, Limbo looked like some kind of dubstep dimension, with wavy lines in the distant bumping to the beat of the music. He could see a statue in far away, he assumes Lilith is there.
Lilith than began to explain, "I have created this gauntlet run especially for you, Dante".
"I'm not here to play your games!", Jason snarks after stopping by a Divinity Statue.
"Oh?", Lilith says sounding surprised before stating, "Well. This is my club and you play by my rules!"
Jason ran up the ramp made from the dance floor and through a black archway with yellow neon light accents. On the ground appeared a white play button with an orange crystal background and blue borders.
Jason jumps up, equips Eryx and comes down with a Stomp on the big button.
"Welcome to the Devil has Talent!", a male announcer calls out like its a game show as a giant graphic of the show in question appears before disappearing as a disco ball showing Lilith's face appears before Jason.
"It's quite simple, Dante", Lilith began, "survive and you get an audience with yours truly. which basically means I get to gouge your brains out myself! Fail, and both you and that little bitch of yours die."
Floors down up as colored squares appear before Jason.
"So, they say you have the power of heaven and hell within you", Lilith taunts, "Let's test them out shall we?"
Jason steps onto the red squares and feels an intense burning, he switches to Arbiter and the pain stopped while the tiles stopped giving a glow. He moves forward and takes the left path at the fork and stops wielding demonic power once he reaches the orange ground of the dance floor. He continued till he came across glowing blue square tiles, since the other required demonic power to run over, he switch to Osiris and ran till he was at the end in the orange dance floor.
The platform was about 5x10 tiles in the area.
Lilith Disco Ball closed in an him to explain, "Let's begin shall we? Round one! Should be a cake walk for a well endowed man like you", and the orb left.
"Round 1!", the demonic announcer states as music beating walls enclose the area, "FIGHT!".
Stygians appear as the ground shifts to demonic red slowly moving towards him in a line of two tiles. He uses Arbiter and Erx over the tiles as they move passed him and he uses Aquila to continue the attack. Luckily for him as the next wave was angelic blue.
Jason switches back to Eryx as the third wave was red again. He uses Brawler on the remaining Stygians.
Soon after, the walls begin to disappear as a play button manifests in the direction of the statue of the four armed woman.
He hits the button and platforms made from rectangular prisms that looked like the walls from earlier appear, their lights were pulsating to the music.
"Congratulations!", Lilith calls out through Limbo, "You're still in the running limbo's top fucking idiot! Now, you can come a little closer", she taunts as Jason traverses the platforms.
Once he reaches the end, Jason Angel Lifts to another dance floor.
The Lilith disco ball appears again, "Round 2 - how quick are you?", she rhymed as black spikes with orange outlines surrounded the area, "You have 30 seconds o put an end to my miserable minions", a giant 30 appeared on the floor as though they were screens, " Lovely. Off we go".
"Round 2!", the demonic voice announced as demons spawn in, "FIGHT!", and the counter started counting down as Jason rushes the demons.
Jason Demon Pulls the shields of some Bathos and Angel Lifts to them to slice them to ribbons with Rebellion, he then Angel Lifts to the Stygians and deals with them in the same manner, leaving 3 seconds on the clock.
Jason could hear boos from his success as the black spikes lower and an archway with some walls appear with the play button sitting in the broken hall.
Jason Eryx Stomps it and orange stairs shift in.
"I don't have time for this bullshit!", Jason yells out to Lilith, annoyed from the song and dance he's going through, as he runs up the stairs and across the walkways.
"What's the hurry?", Lillith asks through Limbo as if confused, "Oh yes!", she says as if remembering, like she ever forgot, "The torture and suffering of that little brat!", as Jason jumps across the music light platforms, "Don't worry. Once Mundus is done with her, she won't feel a thing, Nothing. At all".
Jason came across a lone Stygian, but he just knocks it off into the abyss of Limbo and continues on his merry way to Lilith.
He eventually reaches another archway onto another dance floor.
The Lilith disco ball returns, "Round 3 - nearly half way!", she seems to cheer, "What do you think my dear revelers? Shall we spice things up a little?"
The musical light walls reappear around the area as the demonic voice announces, "Round 3! FIGHT!", as a Ravager and two Death Knights spawn in.
As he fought the demons, the demonic and angelic floors came in waves from all four directions. Instead of fighting on the ground, Jason jumped up to avoid the challenge and Demon Pulls the Ravager to him, slicing int the demon with Rebellion and Angel Lifting back to it when his combo hit it away from him, till it eventually dies from the assault.
Once done with the Ravager, he repeated the process.
Again, Jason received boos as he complete the challenge and the Play button appears on he Eryx Stomps it.
Suddenly, the arena he was in transforms into a darkened room with swirl like designs on the walls.
"Few contestants get this far", Lilith notes through Limbo, "Congratulations! It seems the Devil has talent after all!", as Jason runs into the hall, which extends just to annoy him.
"Half Devil", Jason comments as he blasts away some Critters before he enters a room at the end of the hall.
"This is where it gets interesting", Lilith explains through out the darkened room as Rage Spawns cral around the walls, "Do you like it with the light off?".
The hall way closes off as the demon announcer states, "Round 4, FIGHT!"
Jason immediately equips Aquila and begins slicing the Rage Spawns like they're in a blender. Once he finished the last one, a wall towards the statue opens up.
The Lilith disco ball appears before him once more, "Mundus has been looking for you ever since he first laid eyes on you!", she mentions as he Stomps the play button and runs along a glowing walkway, "Do you remember that night, Dante?", his mind flashed to his mother's gruesome death, "I can't wait to see his face when I show up with your scrawny corpse".
"Scrawny? Bitch, please", Jason taunts back as he was fit.
He soon arrives to a platform with two intersecting walls that were broken in a digital manner, where he is greeted by a shieldless Death Knight and Stygian.
Jason quickly dealt with both using Rebellion before another play button appeared in the corner along a wall.
He hits and a new neon light path forms and he runs along it to the next platform, where he is greeted by two Stygians and a Hell Knight. This time, Jason used Eryx to box with the demons till they either fell off the edge our burst from the force of the punches.
"Huh, I'm starting to see why Mundus finds you so compelling!", Lilith calls out, "Oh no wait, he doesn't! He wants you dead! And I just love giving him what he wants!".
Jason Eryx Stomps the new play button and takes the light made path to a side platform with no walls. Jason then sees a Boost Ring and Angle Lifts to it, before blasting to another Boost Ring, then Angel Boosting to another platform where an archway rests.
"You know Dante, fame is a funny thing", Lilith states through limbo as the platform closes up around Jason into a dark room like earlier, Everyone wants a little slice of you. Especially my friends here", Jason looks around to see the return of the Drekavac, "Let me introduce you to one of them!"
"Round 5, FIGHT!", the demonic announcer states.
Not risking it with this asshole, Jason immediately uses Angel Trigger. He Angel Lifts to the demon and wails on it with Rebellion, he got it pretty low before his Trigger ended and the Drekavac retreated once more.
"Fucking dammit!", Jason growls at the bastard retreating again.
Another play button appears, right in front of the sealed archway. Jason Eryx Stomps it and stairs leading up to the four armed statue appear, walled off as he headed up them and the music changed.
The stairs fall away as he arrives on a platform with a Divinity Statue, where he does some upgrades and purchases. Jason then jumps from platform to platform till he lands on one with a play button. He Eryx Stomps it and two yellow paths form leading to two hallways on either side of the statue.
The Lilith disco ball returns, "so Dante, do you miss your little girlfriend?", she taunts him, "It's a shame you can't be there to hear her whimper and cry! You wanna know what she sounds like? A little like you mother did when Mundus ripped her heart from her chest and ate it!"
"This game is over!", Jason yells out as his anger was reaching a boiling point while he ran through the hall on the right to enter into the night club where it all began, with Jason seeing only Lilith standing on her vantage point.
"Get that skin-bag you call an ass down here!", Jason yells up to her.
She hunched over as her belly warps in aggravation, "Ugh! All right, all right, little one! I understand", she tells her unborn child, "I'm running out of patience too.", she stand up, fixes her hair, and leans over the railing, "Let's end this. Right now".
Jason sees a new demon crawling from the pillar for the room down to the dance floor. It looked just like a Rage but with blue accents. This is a Ghost Rage.
"Round 6, Fight!", the demonic announcer calls out and the battle begins.
Jason tried attacking it with Rebellion to no avail. He remembered how other bluish foes were only affected by his angelic weapons, so he used Aquila and a fully charged Round Trip on it before switching to Osiris and using Prop and Shredder to the beast was defeated.
After its defeat, a Rage that was almost entirely red in color appears, this one is called a Blood Rage.
Jason immediately thought that if the blue was weak to angelic, this one was weak to demonic and switched to Arbiter to knock it back with a Flush before bring it back with a Demon Pull from Ophion and punching it with Eryx.
After that botha Ghost Rage and a Blood Rage joined the dance floor.
"Meow!", Lilith says over the speakers, "Talk about animal magnetism! Looks like you're a bitch magnet Dante!",
Jason quickly uses Aquila's Round trip on the Ghost Rage to keep it busy while he focused on the Blood Rage with Eryx, he went Brawler before doing a charged Uppercut and repeated Showdown till it was defeated.
The Ghost Rage flew into berserk mode. Jason immediately did Aquila's Round Trip, but it powered through despite the damage, so he just evaded to it left that state where he then used Osiris' Prop and Shredder to finish it.
Jason look up to Lilith and points at her as the music ends, "Your turn, Barbie", commenting on the fact she's wearing pink.
"Yes", she almost cheerfully agrees as she hits the railing she turns around to kind fo talk to herself, "this is exactly the opportunity I've been waiting for", she rubs her belly again, "Come on baby let's make daddy proud... Uh!", she grunts as her belly lurches, That's right little one", she looks back to Jason, "it is play time! oaaAAH!", she jumps over the railing onto the dance floor with Jason.
"You know," she walks to Jason as she twists the back of her head like a knob, "i've been looking for a chance to unwind...", as she rips her blond wig away before a mass of flesh comes from behind her head and back.
It warps and twists as Limbo changes around them to look like a vinyl record. The demon attached to Lilith soon looks like a giant three-eyed baby with it's umbilical cord latched onto Lilith's head. This is Mundus' Spawn.
"There's a face only a mother could love", Jason jokingly comments at the hideous baby as he sees it suck Lilith into it's belly button area except her legs.
Jason spots an orb in an arm coming from its left rib and Angel Lifts to it, where he used Osiris to slash at it,
"No, stop that!", Lilith yells at Jason
The pain causing it to wince in pain and its baby blue forehead eye to open up.
"Be a good boy and crush his skull... Now!", he heard Lilith commend of the unborn baby.
Jason quickly Angel Lifts to the exposed eye as Mundus' Spawn hit the ground and released a reverb. He slashes at it with Rebellion till it falls over, exposing its belly and Lilith's legs.
Jason Demon Pulls her out, "Get out here!", and spin kicking her in the face before slashing at her with Arbiter
"No baby Suck me in! Pull me back in!", Lilith yells as her baby rises again and Jason back s up. The baby resucking Lilith into its own belly, save her legs again.
Jason noticed it had tighten its grip on the orb at the rib cage, so he Demon Pulls the hand to expose the orb and Angel Lifts up to it. he attacked it till it scream in pain and revealed its forehead eye.
"For god's sake, hit him back!", Lilith yells as Jason cuts into the eye before the baby teleported to the edge of the disc, where it proceeded to beat down on it and send out musical reverbs at him that Jason had to jump over.
It soon tired itself out and Jason Demon Pulled the side arm again and Angel Lifts to the orb. It soon cried out in pain and exposed its eye again. He then Angel Lifts to it and slashes at it with Rebellion, before it fell over on its side again and exposed Lilith's legs.
"I said get out here and fight me, you monster!", Jason calls out to Lilith as he Demon Pulls her out and begins wailing on her with Arbiter.
"No! Baby! Get me back in! What's happened!?", she calls out to her child as it then regains its footing and sucks her in once more.
"Try all you like!", Lilith calls out to Jason, "You can't kill him, Dante. He's immortal, just like his father!"
Jason Demon Pulls the arm again and Angel Lifts to the orb. once it winces in pain and exposed its eye, Jason goes Angel Trigger and Angel Lifts up to its eye, wildly slashing at it till it falls over.
Once her legs were exposed again, Jason Demon Pulls her out, "You make me sick!", and he cuts into her with Arbiter till suddenly the baby returns to her body and they end up back on the dance floor, with only Jason and Lilith present.
Lilith looks around from the ground in a daze before seeing the tip of Rebellion pointed at he face. she raises her hand in fear at her death.
"Get up!", Jason tells her while waving his sword in an upward motion, "I'm not going to kill you or Mundus' Spawn. I'll let you both live if you do exactly as I say", he tells her.
"I will... I swear", she pleads, "I'm nothing without this brat", she briefly looks down o her belly.
"Now, pull yourself together", he tells her and he puts Rebellion away
Later, Mundus receives a video from Jason.
"Rolling?", Jason asks Vergil on the video, Vergil not appearing as he is the cameraman, "Thanks for getting in touch, Mundus", Jason says into the camera, "Sorry it took me so long to get back. Regarding your trade offer, i'd like to suggest a counter proposal. The life of the girl...", Jason pulls Lilith on screen, the camera aimed down to show Jason aiming Abony at her stomach, "... for the life of your child", stunning Mundus.
Mundus face soon changes o anger as he yells out, "GAAAAAAH!!!!"
It was the next day, in the morning, that they were doing the trade. Meeting out the docks among the shipping containers.
Jason was sitting in Vergil's custom Hatchback car with Vergil in the driver's seat and Lilith between them. Jason had Ivory over his lap, leisurely aimed at Lilith, just in case she tried anything.
Across the way was a SWAT vehicle that had arrived. They flashed their headlights at the brothers. Vergil cracked his neck and flashed his headlights back.
Immediately after, SWAT men exit the armored vehicle and station themselves around it, aiming guns to the car as one gets Kat from the side door. Vergil rises through the sunroof of their car with a sniper rifle in hand, aiming down at the SWAt vehicle.
Kat is dropped before the SWAT vehicle in sight for Jason and Vergil's view. As she painfully and slowly got up, Jason exited the car and brought out Lilith. He brought her to the front of the car with Ivory to her side before pulling out Ebony as he distance himself from her.
Mundus was overlooking the exchange from his office in Silver Sacks Tower, easily seeing all that was going on despite the distance and tense as all hell.
Jason had Ebony trained on Lilith while now aiming Ivory down the path to the SWAT.
Lilith looks to Jason in fear, "Move", he tells her and she shakily takes a step, with her foot right before the other each time, as to go no faster than the injured Kat.
kat was taking painful breathes as she did the same.
Vergil was tensilly holding his rifle as he looked through the scope, aiming down the line of SWAT men, even over Kat for a second.
Kat was whimpering with each step she took while Lilith worriedly held her stomach. Due to Kat's injuries, the hostage exchange was long and tense as the to women moved to the other sides.
Lilith and Kat soon met each other at the halfway point, looking to each other as they feared what might happened if either weren't careful.
Vergil looked to the SWAT team before drastically shifting his rifle to Lilith's mid-back, around her womb.
PEW!
A gunshot rang out and Jason immediately looked ot his left at Vergil.
Kat could only look at Lilith, shocked.
Jason looked to Lilith then back to Vergil, "What the fuck...", he trailed with look of surprise.
Lilith cried in despair at the blood on her hands before looking back down at the gaping hole that once held her child with Mundus, "Oh, no!", she cried before another shot hit her through the head.
Kat was freaking out, unsure as to what she should do.
Mundus was in his office, despairing at the lost of his child before anger covered his features and approaches the Hell gate in his office.
The SWAT opened fire on the trio.
Mundus begins absorbing as much energy as he could from the Hell Gate.
Vergil and Jason opened fire on the SWAT, with Jason running forward to meet with Kat, who went low as to avoid getting shot.
SWAT were falling as Jason reached Kat and picked her up in a princess carry and turned his back to the SWAT team as he ran back to their car.
Mundus had finished his absorption and went back to the window.
The SWAT gunfire went into Jason's back but left Kat unharmed. Jason wasn't worried about himself as much due to his own healing factor. Vergil had succeeded in killing the last one as Jason arrives at the car.
"What the hell did you do that for?!", Jason demands of Vergil, who tossed the gun away and sat back into the driver seat while Jason sat Kat into the passenger seat.
"I had to", Vergil responds, giving a piss poor reason.
Mundus prepared in his tower with a fierce expression, "You don't fuck with a god", he states before unleashing a wave of demonic energy from his tower to the docks, breaking the glass in his office in the process.
The city and Limbo warps around the energy blast and the space distorted.
Jason looked to the sky as he noticed the distortion and the blast in the air.
He looks to Vergil in the car, "Get her out of here! GO!", he orders his brother and shuts the door before running away from the blast's direction of origin.
Vergil had started the car and turned it around to go the same way, a wave of energy went by as they pass Dante.
"What's happening?", Jason asks himself aloud, as that felt different from when he normally enters Limbo.
Vergil's car raced over the road as it cracked and warped before one jutted up before him.
"Shit!", he exclaims, "Hold on!", he tells Kat as he turns left then right before hitting a ramped road piece, going straight for a shipping container before they freeze mid air for some reason as an energy wave passed over them.
Jason looked around as he noticed everything slowing down to a crawl around him, he looks to the car to see it's on a course to crash into the container.
"They're not going to make it!", he tells himself.
He hops onto a longer piece of road that ramped up closer to the car. Jason then Angel Lifts onto the trunk of the car before ANgel Boosting to another container to their right. He then Demon Pulls the container they'll crash into and moves it out of the way.
Time resumes and they go forward only for their path to lead to a group of six container held up by a crane.
Jason Angel Lifts to the car again and ANgel Boost onto the container group. He then began jumping up and used Eryx to Stomp it down, doing a second time, "Get down, dammit", and finishes with a third.
Time resumes as the car passes right over his head and continues on ground level.
Jason began using Angel Lift from each shipping crane till landing just before a shipping warehouse.
Vergil was driving through the same warehouse when a a shipping boat's back side a propeller crash through the ceiling before them.
Thankfully, time slowed as Jason is greeted by a Ravager and two Stygian. He quickly dealt with them and ran to the left of the car and the oncoming propeller.
Time resumed again as the car rushed forward with Jason chasing after it.
Eventually they made it to the street with Jason jumping out a window onto a moving truck.
Jason then noticed the road cracking and looks back to see the road and buildings falling into what looked like a giant sinkhole. Jason had to Angel Lift and Angel Boost along the street lamps to avoid it till he got to stable ground.
Vergil on the other hand was serpentining wildly as he avoided debri but got caught in another road turn ramp and went flying at the train track bridge before time slowed once more.
Jason Demon Pulls a bus to act as a platform for him and he ran straight along it and Angel Boosts off it to stable ground before some demons spawn in, Lesser Stygians. He quickly with them using Arbiter and rushed to the support beam under the train bridge.
He smashed it with Eryx and the car passed over the downed bridge with no problem as Jason uses Ophion to swing onto the car as they leave the area.
Mundus looks on the resulting destruction of his outrage without a care, preparing for the fight with the Nephalem.

AN: this chapter was based on DmC missions 13, 14, and 15. Did not like what happened to a baby this capter, even if it is Mundus' child.
And, techically speaking, a LOT of people died this chapter, mostly from Mundus' attack.
Only two more chapters left based on this game, then I get the rest of the world involved.
