Chapter Six: "Assault On Silver Sacks"
Jason and Vergil were talking about what happened as Kat was resting, though neither noticed her trying to awaken.
"Who knows how many died out there?", Jason says to his brother about the attack earlier, "Hundreds of thousands".
"My decision. My cross to bear", Vergil tells him,
"You have no right to decide the fate of so many", Jason declared.
"I know it was extreme, okay, I know there was a cost", Vergil asserts, "but ti worked. Mundus acted impulsively, in anger. The Hellgate is spent, and Mundus with it. for the time being, at least. Now is the time to strike."
"No", Jason states, "Kat is in no state to do anything".
"Yes, I am", she utters out, bringing the two Sons of Sparda's attention, "You need me", she takes a shuttering breathe, "While they tortured me, I left my body", she tries to sit up but ends up leaning on her elbow on the couch, "That's.. how I endured for so long. I explored Mundus' tower. I know how it works. How its wired", she tries to sit up some more, "What it feels. You both need me to defeat Mundus. And you need each other."
The two brothers looked at each other, Jason scowling and Vergil smirking.
Kat soon was sitting on the floor before a chalkboard and began drawing on it with her right hand, her left was now in a sling.
"So the Hell Gate is the main source of Mundus' power. It can only be reached from his chamber...", Kat explains to them, "You must break into the chamber and close the Hell Gate. Mundus is still weak from his last outburst. This is your chance to defeat him.".
"Mundus doesn't know that Vergil is Nephalem, " she reminds, "we can use that to our advantage. There's a back door into the tower located here", she gestures onto her drawn board.
"Vergil, you must reach the security room undetected", Kat states, "so Dante, you will create a distraction, here", pointing to the front of the building.
Later, Vergil entered the point to get in undetected to traverse the tower within the human world.
Jason approached the outside of the main entrance with a stone in hand.
"Hey, guys!", he calls out to the entrance, with him appearing on camera, "You looking for a fight?! Here I am!", and he throws the stone at the camera.
Mundus looks to his monitors in his office of the camera he smashed, "Just like your father... Too big for your fucking boots. Me, a god, versus you, a piece of shit".
Soo after, Jason begins to enter Limbo. The tower cracks before it bends as energy flows through the smaller central spire. The taller wing like towers of the building on bend more horizontally, looking like unfolded wings ready to fly as buildings and the ground began to break apart, with pieces floating up to the tower
"Once Mundus sees you, all hell will break loose. stay close to the tower entrance...", Jason remembers Kat's instructions.
He begins moving to the tower from the road turned platform he was on. It was cracking an falling apart so Jason was in a hurry as he ran forward and jumped to another platform. All the while, buildings and cars were flying around like an asteroid field in space while jason traversed the landscape.
Jason Angel Lifts to a Boost Ring and launches to another one before Angel boosting to a sidewalk near the entrance. He runs along it as it split in half and he had to jmp to the next one. this piece soon collided with another and Jason jumps to it, it had a bus top on it.
Jason kept moving forward till he Angel Lifts to another Boost Ring, and went through two more after till he lands on another breaking platform. he continues forward along the breaking ground before he Angel Lifts two more times and lands onto the entrance ground, with it remaining whole as it's attached to the main building of Mundus' forces.
Once he arrives, the entrance is soon covered by the black spikes as Limbo shows him, 'SURRENDER'.
"The gates will seal", he remembers Kat telling him, "Dante, you need to keep them busy while Vergil makes his way into the tower", as a new demon appeared before him.
They looked like Stygians but had blue, unbroken face with demonic horns, a toothy mouth, and a strange texture. It had a serrated saw blade like right arm. This is an Elite Stygian.
Five of them had spawned in and one hit the ground, sending a shockwave of energy to Jason that he easily sidestepped.
Jason equipped Aquila and used Killer, sending some flying into the bottomless Limbo.
A Witch then appeared and Jason used Round Trip on her shield, once it was gone he closed in with Rebellion's Stinger and then used Trillion Stab on her till she recovered and he repeated the process till she died.
Jason then used Aquila's Killer on the Elite Stygians till they joined her in death.
At this time, Vergil had reached the security room and overrides it, causing the black spikes to disappear from the entrance in Limbo, but only for 30 seconds.
'STOP HIM', Limbo commands as more demons appear to fight Jason.
Jason ignored them though on into the building as he remembered what Kat said, "Dante. Make a break for the main entrance before it seals itself shut. You'll have a few seconds at best", he runs through the entrance as the black spikes began to appear again before jumping through the door into the lobby, "Once inside, you will face Mundus' elite guard. Take him out quickly", as a new demon appears.
this demon almost looks exactly like the Drekavac but with a pale blue, almost white, face/mask. This was a Dreamrunner.
"Showtime!", Jason snarks at the demon as he attacks it.
It blocks his attacks but not nearly as much as the Drekavac. It goes to attack but Jason parries it and begins slashing into it. It then portals away and Jason evades it before attacking its open back and soon finishes it off.
'CANNOT HIDE', Limbo shows but he was to focused on remembering Kat's plan, "Vergil will knock out the internal camera system. Mundus won't be able to see where you are.", as Jason runs into a stairwell.
Vergil would finish his hack and the camera screens would all go black in Mundus' office.
"Hahaha!", Mundus laughed despite the loss of visual, "Come to me Dante, if you can I'll be waiting for you".
'WHERE ARE YOU?', Limbo demands while Jason uses the Divinity Statue at the stairwell entrance to upgrade his gear and get new stars.
"The corporate offices are heavily defended", he remembers Kat informing him, "One exception is Floor 87 which is unoccupied. There you will reunite with Vergil.", as he enters the elevator.
The elevator rose as crappy music plays. It went fast as he arrived at Floor 87 within a minute or so. The doors open for Jason to reveal Vergil standing before him in Astral appearance as he was still in the Human World.
"You good, brother?", Vergil asks Jason as he exits the elevator.
"Yeah. Good.", Jason replies.
They remembered Kat's next phase of the plan, "Here you split. Dante, make you way to the East Wing. Vergil, you'll make your way to the West Wing, where you'll find the main server room."
"Good luck", Vergil wished his brother.
"You too", Jason says back before Vergil went to the left path and Jason went to the right.
"Dante, you will have to cross a sky bridge to get into the East Wing", he remembers Kat telling him, "You will find the sky bridge along this path", as he walks the right path, "Vergil will take over the servers in the West Wing. He'll clear the way for you."
Near the end of the path, a Ravager and some Elite Stygians come up from the ground before Jason. he quickly jumps up and Demon Pulls the Ravager to him where he repeatedly use Rebellion's Aerial Rave on it and used Angel Lift to close back in on it when it was knocked away till the demon dies.
Jason then uses Eryx and punches the Elite Stygians till they die a bloody paste.
Once the fight ended, Jason continued the path and went to the right as he remembered Kat's chalk drawings and was greeted to the sky bridge covered in security lasers.
Jason remembers what Kat said about this, "Security going into the East Wing is tight, and you'll find yourself blocked, so don't try to cross it just yet", so Jason began pacing in front of the laser grid, waiting for the right time.
Vergil had just arrived before a computer desktop in a room and went to work, soon getting 'ACCESS GRANTED'
The laser grid shuts off for Jason, "Bingo" he comments and begins to move on through the sky bridge as he remembers Kat's words for the next part.
"Once clear, make your way into the East Wing", Kat had said, "Be careful. These floors are occupied. You will encounter resistance.", as he enters into the East Wing the path he came from sealed off.
"Floor 87", Jason comments as he sees the dire state of the the East Wing on this floor with blackened figures like when in the prison all around the floor.
"This... is the Finance Wing", Kat had told him, "Those that work here are barely human any more. They have been corrupted beyond recognition", and another Dreamrunner spawns into the room, "One day, all of humanity will be enslaved to Mundus, like these poor souls".
"So this is corporate hell", Jason comments as he begins to fight.
Two Pathos also appeared and Jason quickly dealt with them so they wouldn't interfere with his fight against the Dreamrunner.
He also went into the song and dance with the Dreamrunner that he usually does with it and Drekavac before the damned swords-demon fell in defeat.
"From here, you will need to make your way up to the next floor", he remembers Kat saying s he spots a point he can Angel Lift up to the next floor, which he does.
He runs around and sees an open elevator, but before he could enter, two Rage appear and attack him. Jason makes quick work of the beastial demons and enters the elevator.
"What did she say?", as he looks to the floor buttons, "Floor 105, sky bridge? yep", and he pushes the button to the floor.
As he exited the elevator onto Floor 105, he then remembers what she actually said, "You want Floor 106. Whatever you do, don't get ou at Floor 105., it's heavily infested.
"Oh.. shit", Jason remarks as the elevator is now sealed shut before a glass wall cut him off from it, "Right... no turning back."
He heads to the left before that bath is cut off as a group of Stygian appear.
"Shit!", he exclaimed before attacking the minor demons with Aquila.
Once he dealt with them, a Witch and a few more Stygians appeared to fight him. He sent a Round Trip at her while he dealt with the Stygians.
He then Angel Lifts tot he defenseless Witch before giving her an uppercut, which he calls Payoff, before slashing into her with Rebellion and killing her.
With that done, he could continue through the floor to find a way up.
Jason soon entered a two story open space where he is greeted by two Ghost Rages,
He switches to Osiris and cuts into the demons, finishing them with Prop and Shredder.
Jason hops onto a office int he middle that was like a one story building and Angel Lifts to the next floor and begins running around. He enters a small hall and runs to the open one before the walls stated to close in on him.
"Oh no you don't", Jason remarks as he Angel Boosts through to the open area before he could get crushed.
There was a bunch of square shaped holes of various sizes in the ground here, leading to a white void that Jason assumed was death. he then turns right and enters into the elevator area of Floor 106 before both sides were cut off and Elite Stygians appeared around Jason.
He made short work of the saw handed demon with his trusty axe, Arbiter, before the path then opened up for him to go onward to the next phase of the plan.
He then comes across an Angel Lift point and a Boost Ring that took him to another Angel Lift point and he lands before another sky bridge.
"By now, the demons will have detected your presence in the East Wing. Time to move out", he remembers Kat specifying as he left it onto the new sky bridge, which still had an active laser grid.
"Come on, Vergil", Jason impatiently grumbles as he paced before the lasers.
"Hang on, Dante...", Vergil mutters to himself as he worked, remembering Kat's words.
"Vergil, jsut be careful you don't trigger the tampering mechanism", she had told him.
He got an 'ACCESS GRANTED' message, "Bingo!", he quietly cheered.
Jason sees the lasers go off, "Bingo", and he goes to cross the bridge.
Suddenly, Vergil hears an alarm, "Not bingo...", and goes back to work on the computer.
As for Jason, the lasers reactivated just before he could enter, "Ahh, that's... bullshit", he grumbles.
Vergil then hears a sound at the door and looks to see a security guard entering.
"Vergil, you must not let yourself get dragged into Limbo, or you will lose your ability to hack into the servers", he remembered Kat saying as he attacked the guard, "If you are detected, it's all over".
Back with Jason, ne notices the upper half of the grids were glitching, turning on and off in intervals.
"I can make it", Jason smiles as he then Double Jumps and Angel Boosts through when the lasers weren't active.
Over he went over the first, second, and third grid. The fourth was glitching in the middle so he only jumped a little before Angel Boosting through.
A long stretch in the middle of the bridge was free of a laser grid. As he ran across it, Jason was soon greeted by a Dreamrunner and some Stygians.
"Ah, fuck off!", he yells at the demons before attacking them.
He quickly dealt with the Stygians before beginning his fight with the Dreamrunner. The fight with the demon progressed like use but when he struck it into the laser grid, it was vaporised.
This ended the fight, but also revealed to Jason that these weren't security lasers but actual fucking laser beams.
Jason continued over the laser grids to the end of the sky bridge and went through the door into the main building.
"Vergil will meet you by the main elevator", he remembers Kat's instructions, heading to the right to go the elevator on this floor, stopping at a Divinity Statue on the way.
He soon arrives at the elevator to see Vergil's astral looking self waiting on it.
"Over here", Veril called out to him as Jason arrived, "Seems we underestimated Kat".
"I didn't", Jason replies.
"You really care about her", Vergil notes, "about all of this. You once said you didn't give a shit!".
"No, I said there was plenty of others", Jason restates.
"Take the elevator up to Floor 154", they remembered Kat's instructions as the elevator door closes.
On the way up, Vergil grabs something from his coat, "Here, Dante, take this", he says, holding out what looked like a taser gun with the yellow warning near the barrel, "I took it off a security guard. It might look look like a taser in the real world, but it's a powerful demon weapon in Limbo", Jason grabbed it and its appearance changed.
It was now a metallic and grey gun that is built with many components, it has a trigger like most guns, it has a grey, ancient imprinted component, that looks like it can split and spread open into segments. It was roughly the size of his other pistols, with a mint green handle. He'll end up calling it Kablooey.
"Thanks", Jason says to his brother as he accepts the new weapon.
As they arrive on the floor, they remember Kat's plan again, "Vergil, you will make your way towards Mundus' chamber in the real world. Dante, there is no way through there from Limbo, so you will have to go via the West Wing/ find the West Wing sky bridge".
Vergil went to his path while Jason now had to go to the left from the West Wing.
He entered down the path along the windows before a Death Knight appeared.
Jason Demon Pulls the shield away. He then fires at it with Kablooey, the cylinder of the weapon split open and fired a fiery red shard into its body. Jason half a dozen shards in before noticing a switch on the side of the gun, he activates it and the shards in the Death Knight detonate, blowing up half its body. It wasn't dead yet though, so Jason finished it with Rebellion.
He moved forward down the path again and was confronted with two Pathos. He shot one with Kablooey and then detonated the shards. The explosion injured not just the one that was shot but also the other flying nearby.
Jason moved forward again, dealing with some Stygians and another Pathos, before finally reaching the sky bridge.
There was no laser grid as Jason went to cross it, but then it began to break apart, "Whoa!". the middle third flew away and Jason Angel Lifts to the other side. This part of the bridge started to fall away as Jason ran for the door, he Angel Boosts to it before it could and he ran on through the door.
"Things will get pretty crazy here", he remembers Kat saying, "You'll have to go up five stories of hell. I hope you make it, it's going to be tough", worry was in her voice.
Jason soon noticed that the only way up was an elevator under the '154' sign. He enters it and and pushes the up button. As the crappy elevator music plays, the digital screen soon begins glitching between several random numbers before showing floors 15 and 158, it started counting down to 150 and 151 where it was glitching again.
"She was right, this is hell", Jason comments before the digital screen finally showed Floor 159 and the elevator doors open and Jason exits into a sky landing, "Ah, much better".
'YOU', Limbo sees him
"At this point, you should see the main core, Dante", he remembers Kat's words as he looks at a black crystal over the spire, there was a big red crystal circle surrounded by metal, "You have to break in somehow", Jason could easily see his way in.
'KILL DANTE', Limbo shows as Harpies spawn in.
Jason Angel Lifts to each Harpy, using rebellion to slice them apart.
Once he was done with the three of them, a Tyrant climbs up onto the landing. He equipped Eryx and gets behind the demon to Demon Pull its spine, causing it to fall onto its back. Jason used Brawler on it till it began to get up. He fully charged an Uppercut as it entered into its berserk state and sent them into the air where he sent it back down with Showdown and followed with a Stomp
Once he finished the tyrant, the Drekavac appeared for the last time. It held out one sword to him to challenge Jason to a final duel. Jason wasn't fucking around though, and went into Angel Trigger and finished the bastard demon.
'NO', Lombo shows as the landing began to break apart and float around the core.
Jason began traversing to it, jumping to a platform, Angel Boosting to another, Angel Lifting to from a small point and Angel Lifting to a sky bridge before Angel Lifting from another small point to the red crystal circle and punching through it with Eryx, "Knock KNOCK", and entering into the core.
Jason was now in an area that was mostly shades of dark green crystalline structures with hell fire rising up on occasion.
He then remembered what Kat said for this point, "Mundus' chamber is located at the top of the core. There you will reunite with Vergil", as he looked to the top of the area he's in, "Be careful. The souls of the damned are channeled through here. Whatever happens, don't get caught up in the stream.", as the hell fire that as actually souls for Mundus flew up in a rhythm, he jumped across to a platform when the stream stopped as Kat's plan here ended, "Good luck, Dante. You're on your own from here".
Jason began traversing the core, this Furnace of Souls, seeing multiple paths to move forward. He eventually gets to a big one that looked like it had ancient ruins and an old dead tree, where a Butcher and some Elite Stygians spawned in to fight him, the furnace was blasting up souls to keep him there for the fight.
He began to deal with the Elite Stygians first, dodging attacks from the Butcher as he sliced into the lesser foes with Rebellion. Luckily, the Butcher's stray attacks affected the E Stygians as they fought. Before long it was just Jason and the Butcher, where he repeatedly used Arbiter's Flush on the orb till it died.
Just then, another Butcher and a Witch come in. Jason focused on the Witch due to its energy shield that it can transfer. he sent out Aquila's Round Trip till the shield dissipated and attacked her with Rebellion while the Butcher lumbered around. Once he finished the Witch, he focused on the Butcher like usual and it died.
The furnace stopped its continuous blasting and Jason began to traverse the crystalline platforms again, staying on the platforms whenever the blasts came up. he continued forward till he came across a Hell Knight and Ravager.
Jason used Arbiter on them and the demons got knocked into the stream and were torn apart.
The next platforming he had to due had to be quick as there was no solid platform for him to step onto and be safe from the steam for a little while.
Jason quickly Angel Lifts, Demon Pulls, Angel Lifts, Demon Pulls, and Angel Lifts till he lands on a solid platform where a Divinity Statue was waiting.
Once done with that, Jason rapidly Angel Lifts between points to get to another .platform before the stream could get him. The platform had two Stygians that he quickly dealt with. He moved along the platforms, taking some Boost Rings and ran into blue vines that he cut with Aquila's Round Trip as he ran across the platforms to it. Jason soon stood before what looked like a closed off arena as he Demon Pulls a wall away so he could get onto it.
The furnace blasted up to trap him there as a Tyrant and a Witch appear before him. Jason focused on the Witch like usual, dodging her demonic swords she could summon, till he killed her. He then attacked the Tyrant with Eryx till it died.
Once they went down, a Dreamrunner and another Tyrant appeared. He focused on the Dreamrunner first since he could easily avoid the Tyrant.
it was a pain in the ass however, so he tried to go Angel Trigger, but he didn't have the energy for it. When the Dreamrunner parried him and knocked Jason back, he accidentally crushed a Devil Star and he could then feel he could use Angel Trigger.
He activates it and kills the Dreamrunner and then the Tyrant.
Soon after, another Dreamrunner and a Witch appear in this arena.
Jason uses another Devil Star and gos Angel Trigger on them, killing them in short order.
Once they were defeated, the furnace stopped going full blast and Jason could leave the arena. He quickly Angel Lifts four time to another stable platform before then Angel Lifting four more times and Angel Boosts from a Boost Ring onto another platform. Jason then Angel Lifts to a crack at the end and leaves the Furnace of Souls.
Jason soon finds Vergil hiding behind a black spike before a room that leads to Mundus' chamber.
Vergil turns to see him, "You made it", Jason nods as he stands next to him, "We make quite the team.
After a moment of thought, Jason says, "I'm stronger".
"I'm smarter...", Vergil snark back.
"I'm better looking", Jason finishes.
Vergil turns to look around the corner, "Mundus is behind the vault door", he looks back to Jason, "Let's not keep him waiting", so the duo walk around the corner, "... And I've got a bigger dick", finishing the comparison earlier.
"And I'm not a virgin", Jason snarks back.
'THREAT', Limbo shows before the vault door closes and seals itself. The glowing symbols on the ground shift around the four mechanisms and the four statues lower into the ground save for the heads as the symbols on the vault door deactivate.
"What's happening?", Jason asks Vergil.
"They must know we're coming", Vergil shares as he runs to the vault door.
"Just as Kat predicted...", Jason says, "So, what do we have to do here again?"
"Kickstart the backup generators in Limbo to overload the system so i can hijack the quantum encryption algorithms", Vergil states as he now works on a computer in front of the vault doors.
"Alright", Jason confirms as he sees four paths to other areas, "There are four generators?", Jason asks for confirmation.
"Yeah, one each tunnel", Vergil confirmed.
"Let's get to work", Jason states and he head down the far right tunnel (from the entrance tunnel).
He runs down the tunnel, Angel Boosts over a gap and continues forward till he comes to a room with two giant statue heads and two rings, one with in the other.
He Demon Pulls the rings and they begin to spin. A blue energy orb appears in their center, the statue just before this room rises up again and an energy beam from the generator flies down the tunnel, bouncing off the crystalline walls to hit the statue's back
'DEFEND', Limbo shows as Elite Stygians spawn in.
Jason first equips Aquila and uses Killer to get them all before him before pushing them into the generator, knocking them back. He then finishes each one with Arbiter.
He then leave this room for the Star generator and goes back to the vault room.
Once there, three Harpies appear. He Angel Lifts to each of them and kills them with Rebellion.
Then, two Ravagers and a Witch spawn in. Jason uses Aquila's Round Trip on the Witch and her barrier. Soon after it falls, he finishes her with Rebellion.
Now focused on the two Ravagers, he uses Arbiter to send them into the air with Tremor. He Angel Lifts up to one and uses Rebellion's Aerial Rave and Angel Lift to kill it. He repeats the process with the second one.
"That's one generator up and running", Jason informs Vergil after killing the demons.
"Good. I'll reboot this server", Vergil calls back as he works, "Now, line up the power conduits with the corresponding server", he directs Jason to do, gesturing to the circles on the ground.
"Or... I can activate all the generators first. So I know which conduit to line up with which server", Jason suggests before heading down the nearest right tunnel (compared to the entrance tunnel).
He heads down the tunnel, jumping between three platforms before heading further in. he enters the generator room, where there was only four spots to stand as the rest of the floor was gone.
Jason jumps to the floor on the far end of the room where the rings were and Demon Pulls on them, activating the generator. The statue i front of this tunnel rises, showing three wavy lines.
Soon, a group of Stygians spawn in and Jason deals with them using Aquila.
Once he was able to leave, he followed the energy beam's path back to the vault room. He is soon greeted by a Frost Knight and a Hell Knight.
Jason used Demon Pull to rip away the Hell Knight's shield and used Arbiter to bash it to pieces before he Angel Lifts tot h Frost Knight and uses Osiris' Prop and Shredder to kill it.
Afterwards, some Stygians and a Butcher spawn in to face Jason. He first focused on the fodder while dodging the Butcher, with its attacks humorously hitting the Stygians rather than Jason. once the Stygians were dealt with, Jason focused on the rotating saw handed demon, using Arbiter's Flush to kill the demon.
"That's two online, Vergil", Jason calls out to his twin brother.
"Good. Rebooting", he calls back to Jason.
Jason then uses the the nearest left tunnel (compared to the entering tunnel), right passed the Divinity Statue of the vault room.
He soon enters a cavern with three landing platforms of various heights, with another tunnel on the bottom and him at the top. He Angel Boosts and glides to the bottom and continues forward.
Jason soon arrives to another room with another set of rings on a large platform. He jumps across the pit onto the platform and sees a sun symbol below the rings. He Demon Pulls the sun rings and the generator activates. The energy does its thing as the statue in the vault room rises up.
'PROTECT', Limbo shows as Death Knights and Pathos surround Jason.
Jason Demon Pulls the shield of the Death Knight and finishes it with Arbiter, rinse and repeat for the other two Death Knights. or the Pathos, he just shot them to bits with Ebony and Ivory.
He then heads back to the vault room, Angel Lifting to the top platform on the one cavern before arriving at the sun statue in the vault room.
Once there, a few Elite Stygians, along with a Tyrant, spawn in to fight him.
He equipped Aquila and dealt with the Elite Stygians using Killer, Big Slick, and Skirmish till they fell. Once they were gone, Jason focused on the baby faced brute, Demon Pulling its spine and beating on it with Eryx, using Charged attacks to keep it out of berserk, till it joined the others in death.
Once it was gone, a swarm of Rage Spawn appear from the ground. Jason used Aquila's Killer till they were all gone.
With them dead, a Ghost Rage and a Blood Rage come in to face Jason. He focused on the Ghost first, hitting into the air using Osiris' Prop and following it with Angel Lift, where he proceeded to slice into it Hanger till it died. The Blood Rage went berserk and Jason hit it with a charged attack from Eryx. He then beat it into submission and it burst.
"Another in the bag", Jason informs Vergil.
"Any problems?", Vergil asks him.
"Nope", Jason simply replies before heading down the last tunnel.
He soon arrives tot he biggest cavern, with a path that was broken into three pieces. he follows this path, having to Angel Boost between the pieces, and arrives at the final generator's room.
The room had walk ways around it and a path to the rings. This set of rings had a crescent moon like symbol below them.
Jason goes around and Demon Pulls the rings, activating it with the energy heading for the vault room and hitting the newly risen moon statue.
'STOP', Limbo seems to beg as some Stygians and Shield Bathos appeared.
Jason rips away the Bathos shields and shoots them away. He then uses Aquila to deal with then Stygians.
Once done with them, Jason went back the way he came and arrived at the vault room for the last time.
Once he arrives, a massive amount of Stygians spawn in. Jason quickly uses Aquila to weed them down till none remained.
Once they were gone, two fucking Dreamrunners appear.
"Ah, fuck that", Jason mutters before going Angel Trigger and then quickly sliced them to pieces.
"All done", Jason tells Vergil.
"Great", Vergil calls back, "Ok, listen up, to pop this beast open, you will need to line up the four conduits with the corresponding server. Did you get that?"
"Yeah, I remember from earlier", Jason shakes his head at Vergil and got to work.
"So, where did you learn to do that?", Jason asks his brother as they worked.
"What?", Vergil asks for clarification.
"Hacking", Jason says.
"Taught myself as a kid", Vergil shares, "Guess it gave me a sense of control".
"Control", Jason repeats, "We never had that did we?", as he hits a pad.
"No", Vergil agrees, "I always felt something was amiss, hidden from me.
"So did I", Jason responds, "It's like a burning feeling inside".
"Exactly, but I knew if you peeled the layers of bullshit, the truth will eventually out", Vergil explained, "Guess I channeled that energy into hacking. And you? How did you find release?"
"Fighting supervillains, Killing demons, and Getting laid", Jason states, "I can hack as well, but it's not my strong suite", as he lines up the sun and waves.
Jason then lines up the moon and star.
"Ok, we're in business", Vergil says before the vault opens, revealing the hall to Mundus' chamber.
After one last pitstop at the Divinity Statue, both brothers stand before the open vault to Mundus.
"You know what you have to do", Vergil reminds Jason, "You lure him out, I close the Hell Gate with the Yamato. Then we go for the kill."
Jason stares down the hall, "Any ideas on how I draw him out?", he asks his brother, drawing a blank of his own at the moment.
"We killed his unborn child", Vergil states, sharing them blame, "Get him rabid".
"Got it", Jason says and is about to go in before Vergil stops him.
"But...", Vergil says, "Do not try and kill him. His body is immortal until I shut down the Hell Gate."
"Right", Jason remarks.
"This is it, Dante", Vergil states, "We have to pit our lives in each other's hands, completely, without hesitation".
"We are brothers, after all", Jason responds, almost staring into Vergil's soul, before leaving him as he walked down the hall to Mundus, alone.
