Chapter 3: No Rest for the Sinful
Felix and Loona stood across the street from the office building, observing it from a shadowed alleyway. The air around them was tense, the hum of the city around them doing little to drown out the anticipation.
Felix squinted up at the towering structure, his yellow eyes scanning every detail. The building's sleek exterior and dark glass windows reflected the midday sun, making it almost impossible to get a clear view inside. Security cameras dotted the exterior, and the main entrance was flanked by a set of double doors, guarded by two uniformed security guards. Everything about the place screamed corporate power—sterile, polished, and cold.
Loona leaned against the brick wall of the alley, her phone in hand as she scrolled absentmindedly. "So, what's the plan?" she asked, her voice low but sharp.
Felix's expression was unreadable, his claws flexing slightly as he thought through their options. "We need to get inside without drawing attention. We can't just waltz in through the front. Too many eyes, too much security." His gaze shifted to the side, scanning the area around them. "There's a service entrance around the back. Less guarded. We can slip in through there."
Loona raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Or we could just use the book and portal our way to one of the storage closets in the building." She smirked, tapping something on her phone before showing him a floor plan of the building that she found online.
Felix glanced at the floor plan, considering her suggestion. "…That works." His lips curled into a half-smile as he considered the ease of the alternative. Felix opened the magic book, flipping to a page he'd already memorized as the air around them shifted. A shimmering portal began to form in front of them, pulsating with dark energy. Felix glanced at Loona for a brief moment. "After you."
Loona rolled her eyes but didn't argue, stepping through the portal first, followed by Felix, who quickly followed her.
When they emerged, they found themselves crammed into a tiny closet filled with cleaning supplies, the faint smell of bleach and stale air making Loona wrinkle her nose. Felix grimaced as he bumped into a mop, nearly knocking it over and making it almost impossible for the two of them to move without bumping into each other.
"This is cozy," Felix muttered dryly, brushing the mop off his shoulder as he looked around.
Loona huffed, crossing her arms. "Great, now what? We can't just walk out there looking like this," she said, motioning to their outfits. "We don't exactly blend in."
Felix's eyes wandered around the closet, around the cramped space, his sharp eyes catching something tucked in the corner, hanging from a hook on the wall. His lips curled into a mischievous smirk. "Or maybe we can."
Loona followed his gaze and groaned audibly when she saw what he was staring at. "Oh, hell no. Not happening," she said flatly.
The next moment, Felix and Loona stood crammed in the tiny closet, now donning mismatched janitor uniforms. Loona's arms were crossed tightly, her expression a mix of annoyance and humiliation. The ill-fitting shirt and a ridiculously short skirt had her glaring daggers at Felix.
"You owe me for this," she muttered darkly, tugging at the hem of the skirt in a futile attempt to make it longer. "Who the hell even wears something like this to clean? This is bullshit."
Felix smirked, clearly enjoying her discomfort. "Well, for what it's worth, the short skirt looks good," he quipped teasingly, his yellow eyes glinting mischievously.
Loona rolled her eyes, scoffing as she shoved a hand in his face. "Don't even start, dumbass." She stepped past him, her eyes narrowing as she opened the closet door just enough to peer out into the hallway. After a quick scan, she nodded. "Coast's clear. Let's move."
Felix grabbed a cleaning trolley loaded with cleaning supplies and rolled it out into the hall, following Loona as she strode ahead with an air of feigned confidence. Despite her irritation, she walked with purpose, her sharp eyes scanning the surroundings for any signs of trouble.
"Just keep walking and look busy," Felix said under his breath, his smirk replaced by a focused expression as his eyes darted to the security cameras lining the hall.
Loona shot him a sidelong glance. "I swear, if this doesn't work, I'm blaming you."
"It'll work," Felix assured her with a cocky grin. "Trust me. Who's gonna suspect a couple of janitors?"
Loona didn't respond, just rolled her eyes and kept moving, her sharp gaze scanning for their next move. Felix strolled confidently through the halls, pushing the trolley with an air of casual ease. Whenever a staff member passed by, he flashed a polite smile and even stopped to exchange small talk, his charm disarming enough to draw chuckles or brief nods from his unsuspecting marks.
"So, how's the coffee machine on this floor?" Felix asked a passing employee, leaning slightly on the trolley. "Last place I worked at, it was like playing Russian roulette every time you poured a cup."
The man chuckled. "Still better than the sludge in the break room on 12. You're new, right? The big guy upstairs sure knows how to pick 'em."
Felix's smile widened. "Big guy upstairs, huh? You mean Mr. Hawk? Any chance you could point me towards his office? I was supposed to check the AC unit in there."
"Yeah, but good luck catching him in his office. He's in meetings all day. Top floor, corner suite. Can't miss it." The employee gave a friendly wave and kept walking.
Felix nodded appreciatively before resuming his pace. "Thanks, you're a lifesaver."
A few steps behind him, Loona leaned against the trolley, arms crossed and a deep scowl on her face. She tapped her foot impatiently, her irritation growing with each unnecessary stop Felix made.
As they resumed walking down the hall, Loona's scowl deepened, her crimson eyes narrowing as she watched Felix charm yet another passing employee with a casual smile and a few perfectly placed words. Once the person was out of earshot, she quickened her pace to catch up with him, her crimson eyes narrowed suspiciously as her annoyance spilled over.
"How the hell are you so good at this?" she hissed under her breath, keeping her voice low. "You're, like, the biggest red flag I've ever met."
Felix smirked, shrugging casually as he continued to push the trolley down the hall. "What can I say? Sociopaths have a talent for acting friendly." He replied with mock seriousness, his yellow eyes glinting mischievously
Loona snorted. "Yeah, well, it's creepy as hell."
"Creepy, but effective," Felix shot back, glancing at her with a smug grin. "You'd be surprised how far a fake smile and a bit of small talk can get you."
Loona scoffed, crossing her arms. "Yeah, I'll pass on the whole playing nice thing. Watching you do it is bad enough."
Felix chuckled, his yellow eyes gleaming with amusement as he leaned slightly toward her. "You might wanna take notes, pup. You could use a little more charm."
Loona growled, grabbing the handle of a mop from the trolley. "Say that again and I'll shove this mop up your—"
Felix held up his hands in mock surrender, his grin widening. "Point taken." He straightened up, focusing back on the hallway ahead.
Loona narrowed her eyes but let go of the mop handle with a huff. Felix straightened up, still grinning as he turned his attention back to the hallway ahead.
As Felix and Loona approached Hawk's office, their pace slowed as they spotted two large security guards stationed outside the door. Both men were tall and broad-shouldered, their imposing figures blocking the entrance like living barriers. One of them stepped forward, raising a hand to stop them.
"Mr. Hawk doesn't want anyone inside," the guard stated firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
Felix tilted his head, feigning confusion. "Yeah? Weird, we were told to come by to fix the AC and tidy up the place before his meetings later today," he replied smoothly, keeping his tone casual and professional.
The two guards exchanged sceptical looks. "We weren't informed of this," one muttered.
The other frowned, checking something on a clipboard. "Mr. Hawk does have several meetings scheduled today," he admitted grudgingly.
Felix gave a slight shrug, his expression perfectly casual. "Exactly. Look, we'll be in and out."
After a tense moment, the first guard relented with a grunt. "Alright, you can enter, but don't touch anything you're not supposed to."
"Roger that," Felix said with an easy smile, pushing the trolley forward. Just as he was about to step through, one of the guards blocked his path with a hand on his chest.
"Not you," the guard said bluntly, jerking his thumb toward Loona. "Just her." He gestured toward Loona, who blinked in surprise.
"Excuse me?" Loona growled, narrowing her eyes suspiciously.
The guard smirked, his gaze lingering on her in a way that made Loona's ears metaphorically flatten, despite her human disguise. "Mr. Hawk prefers to have the woman clean his office." His tone was laced with a suggestiveness as Loona snarled softly, but Felix's quick glance stopped her from snapping back. Instead, he pondered for a moment, then smiled lightly, though there was a dangerous glint in his eye.
"Sure thing," Felix said, feigning nonchalance. "I'll just take care of some of the other offices while she handles this one." Without missing a beat, he turned and started walking away, leaving a very annoyed and confused Loona standing there.
"Well?" the guard said, his tone smug. "You gonna start cleaning, or what?"
Loona forced a strained smile, her hands tightening on the trolley's handle. "On it," she said through gritted teeth, wheeling the trolley into the office as the guards opened the door for her, and she entered the spacious office, the door clicking shut behind her.
The office was massive, exuding wealth and power, with its floor-to-ceiling windows that offered a stunning view of the city skyline, bathing the room in sunlight, highlighting the massive mahogany desk that sat near the back.
Loona muttered curses under her breath as she scanned the room, annoyed at Felix for bailing so quickly, but her thoughts were interrupted by the soft vibration of her phone in her pocket. She pulled it out and saw Felix's name flashing on the screen. She answered with an annoyed whisper. "What?"
"Miss me already?" Felix teased on the other end, his tone light. Before Loona could retort, he added, "Relax, pup. Just open a portal for me."
Loona sighed, rolling her eyes as she glanced around the room to make sure she was alone. She subtly opened the book tucked beneath the cleaning supplies on the trolley and traced her finger along the page. A glowing portal shimmered to life near the corner of the office and a moment later, Felix stepped through with his usual smirk.
"Nice place," he remarked, glancing around with a faint whistle. "Alright, pup, let's find what we came for."
"And what did we come for? Hawk isn't even here," Loona said, her tone dripping with impatience as she crossed her arms, her sharp eyes scanning the room.
"Nope," Felix replied with a smug grin, holding up a sleek laptop he had just swiped off the desk. "But his computer is."
Loona raised an eyebrow. "And what's that supposed to do for us?"
Felix sauntered over to the desk, setting the laptop down before plopping into the oversized leather chair. Pulling a USB drive from his pocket, he plugged it into the device and powered it on. The screen flickered to life, displaying Hawk's password-protected desktop. Felix's fingers flew across the keyboard as he worked to bypass the login.
"I told you," he said, his voice low and deliberate, his yellow eyes glinting with determination. "I don't just want to take the guy down—I want to hurt him. And what better way to do that than by ruining his name?"
Loona leaned against the edge of the desk, scoffing with mild irritation. "Hurt him how? By leaking his embarrassing browser history?"
Felix chuckled softly, his focus never leaving the screen. "Tempting, but no." He smirked, his eyes darkened as he continued typing, the image on the screen slowly shifting to reveal documents, contracts, and a list of shady deals. "I'm gonna expose Hawk for what he really is. Human trafficking, illegal arms deals, the works. I've got everything here that proves he's been pulling strings with every lowlife he could get his hands on." He leaned back in the chair, cracking his knuckles. "If Hawk's gonna be my last kill, then I'm gonna make sure I take down as many of his sleazebag associates as possible too."
Loona's expression shifted, her earlier annoyance replaced by a measure of respect. "Damn, that's cold," she muttered,
Felix finished downloading the files, his fingers tapping out a quick sequence of commands. He looked up at Loona with a satisfied grin. "Now that's done, on to Hawk."
Loona, who had been eyeing the door, raised an eyebrow. "You gonna kill him during one of his meetings?"
Felix's grin widened, his eyes gleaming with cold amusement. "Nah, I'll be clearing his schedule first." He cracked his knuckles, his expression darkening as he thought about what was to come.
Later that day, the entire building was suddenly jolted into chaos. Loona, wearing a faint smirk of satisfaction, had pulled the fire alarm with a quick yank of the lever. The blaring sirens filled the air, and the sudden wail of the alarm echoed through the halls, sending the building into a frenzy. Workers and employees scrambled to gather their things, panicked but obedient, as the evacuation protocols took effect.
Meanwhile, on the upper floors, Hawk was just finishing a phone call, flanked by two burly guards. He wiped sweat from his brow with a cloth, a frown twisting his face as he glanced around, his eyes narrowing suspiciously.
"I didn't hear anything about a drill today," Hawk muttered, glancing around with furrowed brows, his voice tinged with annoyance.
"There isn't, sir," one of the guards replied, his voice tense. "We already have men searching the building for the fire."
Hawk nodded, clearly agitated but too distracted by the people filling out into the hallways, murmurs of confusion rippling through the crowd.
"Dammit. Get the fire department on the line. I need this resolved now." Hawk barked, motioning for the guards to escort him through the building, his eyes scanning the nearest exit with impatience.
But as they approached, the overweight man froze mid-step, his eyes widening in disbelief, his blood draining from his face as his gaze locked onto the figure standing in front of the exit.
The tall figure stood unmoving, an unsettlingly calm presence amidst the panic surrounding them.
Felix stood there, a cold smirk plastered across his face as the crowd move around him, unaware of the danger. His yellow eyes gleamed with malice, watching Hawk like a predator watching its prey, his posture relaxed and almost too casual, for a dead man.
"Th-that's not possible." Hawk stammered, his voice shaking as he took an instinctive step back, the sweat pouring down his forehead. The bodyguards, still confused by their boss's sudden panic, exchanged wary glances but remained rooted to the spot, unsure of what to do.
"That's impossible. I saw those freaks kill you," Hawk voice broke, the words tumbling out like a confession. The bodyguards, still confused, exchanged looks as they remained rooted to the spot. "Get him!" Hawk finally barked, his voice sharp with panic as he pointed a trembling finger toward Felix. "Now!" His bodyguards, startled by his sudden command, hesitated only for a moment before they began to move toward Felix, their hands going for their holstered weapons.
Felix didn't flinch, didn't even acknowledge the guards as they approached. His eyes never left Hawk's for a second, his smirk widening into something far darker, far more lethal.
As one of the bodyguards finally drew his weapon, Felix's cold smirk never wavered. In a blur of motion, he swiped his hand across the guard's neck. The disguise that had cloaked his hand faded away, revealing the deadly claws that gleamed like daggers that tore through the flesh with brutal efficiency. Blood sprayed from the wound, and the guard let out a strangled gurgle, his eyes wide with shock and disbelief as he staggered backward, clutching at his neck in vain.
Felix's expression was cold, his smirk still in place as he watched the life drain from the man's face. The bodyguard fell to his knees with a final, guttural gasp before collapsing to the floor, his weapon clattering uselessly beside him. Blood pooled around the lifeless form as Felix stood over the body, his claws dripping red.
The remaining guard froze, his eyes locked on the brutal scene in horror, his hand still poised on his weapon but now uncertain, paralysed by fear. Hawk, his face pale and trembling, stepped back, his voice a frantic whisper as he looked between Felix and the body of his fallen guard.
Felix's yellow eyes shifted to the remaining guard, who stood frozen in fear, his hand shaking as it hovered over his weapon. The man's gaze flicked between the gruesome body on the floor and Felix's unblinking stare. The bodyguard, unable to withstand the weight of that gaze, turned and bolted, his screams echoing down the hallway as he ran for his life.
Felix didn't even flinch as the guard fled. He simply turned his attention back to Hawk, the smirk on his face widening with a twisted sense of amusement. "So hard to find good help, right?" he commented casually, his voice dripping with dark humour.
Hawk was trembling now, eyes wide with terror as he stumbled backward, tripping over his own feet in his frantic attempt to get away, his eyes darting between Felix and his bloodied claws. "W-what are you?" His voice was barely a whisper, choked with disbelief as he tried to push himself away from the advancing figure.
Felix's smirk twisted into something far more sinister as he took a step forward, dropping his disguise with a subtle flicker of shadows. The disguise that had masked his appearance dissolved away, the glamour fading to reveal the full extent of his demonic features. His body wrapped in black fur, yellow eyes glowing with predatory hunger. His claws, now fully exposed, gleamed with deadly intent, and his sharp, canine teeth glinted as he bared them in a feral snarl.
Hawk's eyes widened in horror and without waiting for an answer, scrambled to his feet and bolted back down the hall.
Felix narrowed his eyes as he watched Hawk flee in desperation, his amusement slowly giving way to mild annoyance. "Kinda rude," he muttered, irritated by Hawk's lack of appreciation for the moment.
Hawk burst into his office, slamming the heavy door shut behind him with a loud bang. He stumbled back toward his desk, his chest heaving as he struggled to catch his breath. His hands fumbled as he grabbed a remote from the desk drawer, pressing a button that sent multiple screens descending from the ceiling. One by one, they flickered to life, displaying security footage from various points throughout the building.
His frantic gaze darted from screen to screen until it locked onto one in particular: Felix, casually standing in a stairwell, scrolling through his phone as if he didn't have a care in the world. Hawk's breath hitched, his grip tightening on the remote.
Suddenly, the camera feed glitched, static crawling across the screen. When the image cleared, Felix was no longer idly scrolling. Instead, he was staring directly into the camera, his glowing yellow eyes piercing through the lens with a predatory gleam. The smirk that spread across his face was enough to make Hawk's blood run cold. Then, without warning, the feed cut to black.
Hawk let out a high-pitched squeal, stumbling backward into his desk as sweat poured down his face. His trembling hands clutched the edge of the desk for support, his eyes darting around the room in panic.
"Something wrong?"
The calm, almost bored voice made him jump violently. Hawk whipped around to see Loona casually leaning against the wall, her arms crossed, one leg kicked up lazily as if she'd been there the entire time. Her sharp, red eyes gleamed with faint amusement, and a smirk played on her lips.
Hawk's jaw worked soundlessly for a moment, his mind scrambling to process her sudden appearance. "H-how did you get in here?" he stammered, his voice high and panicked.
Loona pushed off the wall with a casual shrug, her smirk widening as she took a slow, deliberate step toward Hawk.
"How did I get in here?" Loona echoed mockingly, her tone dripping with sarcasm as she tilted her head to one side, her smirk widening as a swirl of blue flame erupted around her, consuming her human guise in an instant, revealing her true form. Her tail flicked behind her as she stood tall, looking down at Hawk like a predator toying with its prey. "Don't you have bigger things to worry about?" she added, her voice dropping to a lower, more threatening tone as she bared her fangs in a toothy grin, her red eyes glowing faintly in the dim light, locking onto Hawk's trembling form with an unsettling intensity.
Hawk's legs buckled beneath him, and he stumbled back into the desk again, his breath coming in short, ragged gasps. "S-stay back!" Hawk croaked, his voice breaking as he tried to press himself further against the desk, as though it could offer any protection.
Felix stepped smoothly out of the shadows, as though he'd been in the room all along. His tall, imposing form was illuminated by the dim light filtering in through the blinds, and his claws, still glistening with fresh crimson, left faint smears on the floor as he moved. His expression was one of calm, cruel amusement, his yellow eyes gleaming with predatory delight.
"Come on, Loona," Felix drawled, casually wiping his claws on a discarded jacket draped over a nearby chair. "You're scaring the poor guy." His tone was light, almost teasing, though the malice behind it was unmistakable.
Hawk's head snapped between Felix and Loona, his chest heaving as his desperation grew. His eyes were wide with terror, his hands trembling as he grasped at the edge of the desk for support. "I-I can pay you! Whatever you want!" he sputtered, his voice cracking as he tried to bargain. "Money, power—you name it, it's yours!"
Loona smirked, her tail flicking behind her as she circled Hawk, her red eyes gleaming with dark amusement. "You really don't get it, do you?"
"Don't sweat it too much," Felix said nonchalantly, his yellow eyes gleaming with a predatory gleam. "Once you turn up in Hell, we'll call it square… as long as I don't see you again."
Hawk's eyes went wide with disbelief, his throat constricting as he tried to find words, but nothing came. His desperate gasps for air were the only sounds as he stared up at Felix, the full weight of the situation crashing down on him.
Hawk's frantic gasps were the only response as he backed away, only to be stopped as Loona grabbed him by the collar, lifting him off the floor with terrifying ease. Felix stepped forward, his claws extending, and with a swift motion, they struck.
Hawk screamed in shock and pain as his arm was torn from its socket. He tried to scramble backward, his blood staining the floor beneath him, but Felix was on him in an instant, dragging him back toward the desk with terrifying speed. Hawk let out a terrified scream, his hands scrabbling at the floor, but it was useless.
As Hawk struggled, Loona yanked him up by the hair, her sharp teeth showing as she smiled down at him, her eyes gleaming with dark amusement. "Squeal, little piggy," she taunted, her voice low and mocking. With a growl, she threw him across the desk, sending papers and objects scattering.
Before Hawk could even attempt to get to his feet, the two demons pounced. Loona's claws sinking deep into his side as blood splattered across the floor as Hawk howled in pain, while Felix joined in, his claws carving through Hawk's flesh. The room was filled with the brutal sounds of struggle, and Hawk's cries turned into ragged gasps as his blood splattered across the window, painting the once-sterile office in shades of red.
Later, as the sirens of approaching fire trucks filled the street, a portal materialized in a dark alley near Felix's parked car. Stepping through, the two demons emerged in their human disguises, no trace of the earlier brutality remaining. Felix adjusted the collar of his jacket, his yellow eyes scanning the surroundings with a casual indifference. Loona flicked her hair back, the faintest trace of a smirk on her lips as she glanced over at him.
"You know, that was actually fun. Need to convince Blitzø to take me on some missions." Loona grinned, tapping her phone idly as she walked beside Felix, her steps light and carefree after the chaos of the day as she sent a sly grin in Felix's direction.
Felix smirked, his yellow eyes flicking over to her. "Think he will after running off with the guy who robbed him?" he teased, his voice low and amused.
"Not a chance," Loona replied with a smirk. "Speaking of Blitzø, should probably get back. He's likely already begging the owl to help him." She muttered the last part with a tone of frustration.
"Owl?" Felix muttered to himself in confusion, but chose not to press it. He shrugged, glancing around the alley. "Hey, uh, you think we can stop by somewhere first before going back?"
Loona looked up from her phone, a raised eyebrow betraying her curiosity as she gave him a sideways glance.
Moments later, Felix and Loona were driving through a quiet suburban neighbourhood with well-kept lawns, the car gliding smoothly over the streets as they approached a modest two-story house. Felix slowed down, pulling the car over to the side of the road before he cut the engine.
Loona's eyes narrowed slightly as she looked around the neighbourhood, her curiosity piqued. "Where are we?" she asked, her voice laced with confusion as she stepped out of the car, eyeing the house in front of them.
Felix stepped out behind her and gave her a knowing look. "You were the one who said I should get in touch with my sis," he said, his tone light but with an undercurrent of seriousness. "Stay here, I won't be long."
Loona leaned back on the hood of the car, arms crossed, her eyes fixed on Felix as he approached the house. Her sharp gaze softened slightly with curiosity as she observed his unusually hesitant demeanor.
At the door, Felix paused on the porch, his hand lingering in the air for a moment before he finally knocked. The sound was firm, yet there was a faint hesitation to it. He stepped back slightly, shifting his weight nervously as he waited.
The door creaked open, revealing a woman who looked to be in her late twenties, with sleek black hair tied back into a low ponytail and sharp features softened only by her obvious surprise. She was dressed casually, wearing a simple sweater and jeans, and her dark eyes widened as they landed on Felix.
"Felix?" she said, her voice laced with both disbelief and concern. "Where the hell have you been? You were supposed to come by for New Year's!"
Felix gave an awkward shrug, his yellow eyes darting to the side as he avoided her direct gaze. "Hey, Clara. Yeah, uh… something came up."
Clara's brows furrowed, her expression a mixture of irritation and relief. "Something came up?" she echoed, crossing her arms as she gave him a skeptical look. Her eyes flicked past him, narrowing slightly when she spotted Loona leaning casually against the hood of the car.
"Uh-huh," Clara said, her tone dripping with sarcasm. "And what's 'something's' name?" She added with a smirk, a knowing glint in her eye. Loona perked up at the mention of her as she leaned back on the car hood, pretending not to listen, though her sharp hearing picked up every word.
Felix shifted awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck as he avoided Clara's piercing gaze. "It's not like that," he mumbled, his usual cocky demeanor replaced by something much more subdued as he glanced over his shoulder at Loona, who he could already tell was smirking.
Clara raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced, and leaned slightly to look past him again. "Sure, sure. She's just a 'friend,' right?" Her smirk deepened as she leaned against the doorframe, clearly enjoying his discomfort. "So, what's her name?"
Felix let out a long sigh, clearly realizing there was no escaping Clara's teasing. "Loona," Felix said quickly as Loona watched the exchange with mild interest.
Clara's grin widened as she stepped forward, craning her neck to get a better look at Loona. "She's cute," she remarked teasingly, waving at Loona with a cheeky grin, completely unaware that Loona could hear her.
Loona, who had been quietly watching the exchange, suddenly looked away, her cheeks tinged with a faint blush, her confidence faltering just slightly.
"Oh, I like her," Clara said with a playful smile, clearly enjoying the discomfort she was causing. Then she turned back to Felix, her expression shifting to one of curiosity. "So, who is she really? And where have you been?"
Felix sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Look, it's complicated, okay?" he replied, his voice a little more serious now, clearly trying to avoid Clara's gaze. "I'll explain, but maybe not on the porch?" He glanced at Loona, who was still waiting by the car, her posture relaxed but clearly listening. "And Loona, she's just—she's… helping me out with something. It's not what you think."
Clara's expression softened slightly, her arms uncrossing as she studied him. "You've got that look, Felix. The one that says you're in deep trouble." She stepped aside, opening the door wider. "Alright, come in, But you better explain why you've been MIA." she said softly, her tone now laced with concern as she walks inside, "Oh, and bring Loona."
Felix and Loona exchanged a brief but surprised look, both of them momentarily caught off guard by Clara's sudden shift in tone. Felix hesitated for a second, but with a deep sigh, he reluctantly followed Clara inside, bracing himself for whatever sibling interrogation was about to come his way. Loona, still leaning casually against the car, raised an eyebrow but shrugged before pushing off the vehicle and following him.
Loona and Felix settled on the living room sofa, the familiar, homely smell of coffee brewing filling the air. Clara disappeared into the kitchen for a moment before returning with a tray with steaming cups of coffee, handing one to Felix and the other to Loona with a small smile.
"So, where's Barb and the runts?" Felix asked, taking a long sip of the coffee, trying to ignore the heavy air of curiosity that still lingered in the room.
Clara shrugged as she set her own mug down on the coffee table, her expression softening. "Barb got called into work, and the kids are outside in the back, working on their science project."
Felix raised an eyebrow, a small smirk forming on his lips. "Science project?" he repeated, leaning back into the couch and letting his gaze drift toward the window. Before Clara could answer, a loud, almost deafening explosion echoed from outside. Felix and Loona flinched as the two looked at each other.
Just as Felix opened his mouth to comment, the door swung open, and two soot-covered kids—twins—stumbled inside, their wide eyes locked on their mother. The girl, with wild, singed hair, looked straight at Clara with a scowl.
"Mom! Kyle blew up the garden... again," the girl said with an exasperated sigh.
Kyle, the boy with a guilty grin plastered across his soot-covered face, immediately countered, "Sadie told me too!"
The twins froze when they noticed Felix and Loona sitting on the couch, both of them wide-eyed in surprise. Then, with a sudden burst of energy, they both simultaneously shouted, "Uncle Felix!" Sadie and Kyle both ran up to him in a blur of motion, nearly knocking Felix over with their excited hugs.
Loona watched the scene with mild amusement, leaning back on the couch and taking a sip of her coffee, raising an eyebrow as the twins turned their attention to her, their eyes wide with curiosity. She took another slow sip of her coffee, the corners of her mouth curling into a small, forced smile, trying to be polite.
"Uncle Felix, who's she?" Kyle asked, tilting his head slightly as he studied Loona with a mix of suspicion and intrigue.
Sadie, not wanting to be outdone, gasped loudly and leaned forward, her eyes wide with excitement. "Is she your girlfriend?!" she asked with a dramatic flair.
Felix, caught off guard by the questions, spluttered for a moment, his eyes flicking between the two eager faces and Loona, who simply smirked behind her coffee cup.
"Uh, no," Felix said, clearing his throat awkwardly, the slight red tint creeping up his neck as he rubbed the back of his head. "Loona's... just someone I'm working with, that's all."
The twins exchanged a look, their expressions shifting to matching teasing grins. They smirked at Felix the same way their mother did, clearly enjoying the awkward tension they'd created. Felix, sensing where this was going, shot them a deadpan look, raising an eyebrow.
"Tell ya what," he said, trying to steer the conversation in a different direction. "I need to have a chat with your mom for a bit. How about the two of you show Loona that science project of yours?"
Loona, who had been quietly observing the interaction, blinked in surprise. "Wait, what?" she asked with a small frown, looking between the twins and Felix, clearly caught off guard.
The twins, sensing an opportunity for fun, immediately perked up, their expressions lighting with excitement. Sadie bounced on her heels, tugging at Loona's hand. "You'll love it! We made a volcano! And it really erupts," she said with enthusiasm.
"Come on, Loona!" Kyle urged, practically dragging her toward the hallway. "It's awesome! You're gonna love it!"
Loona gave Felix a look that said, 'You really did this to me?' before turning her attention back to the eager twins. With a heavy sigh, she relented, giving Felix a pointed look as she was practically escorted out of the room with Felix giving her an apologetic smirk.
Clara watched with a barely suppressed smile as the twins eagerly pulled Loona outside, their voices already rising in excitement as they chattered about their science project. She couldn't help but laugh softly at the sight, clearly enjoying the playful chaos Felix had inadvertently caused. Her amused gaze then turned to her brother, still sitting on the couch.
"That was just mean," she remarked, a playful tone in her voice as she turned back to her brother.
Felix shrugged, not at all remorseful. "Meh, she had it coming." His smirk was playful, but his expression softened as he sat back in the couch, his shoulders slumping just slightly. Clara noticed the subtle shift immediately and narrowed her eyes, her tone turning a little more serious.
Clara's gaze never wavered, the playful edge to her smile fading as she studied her brother. "You gonna tell me what's wrong yet?" she asked, her voice now laced with a gentle but persistent concern.
Felix let out a soft laugh, his shoulders lifting in a half-hearted shrug. "It's a little complicated," he said, his usual cocky tone replaced by a hint of uncertainty.
Clara raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Then make it less complicated," she said firmly, as though the answer was simple, almost like a command. "You know you can tell me anything, Felix."
Felix hesitated, shifting uncomfortably in his seat, running a hand through his hair as he tried to find the right words without revealing too much as Clara's gaze remained fixed on him, her concern evident. He took a deep breath, then began with a half-hearted chuckle, clearly trying to deflect.
"So, uh, I got this new job," Felix started, his tone light and a little forced. "It's, uh, a delivery gig. It's… kind of out of town, actually. A little far, so I'll need to relocate for a while."
Clara didn't buy it for a second. Her sharp eyes narrowed as she watched her brother try to play it cool. "A delivery job, huh? Far out of town? You sure that's all there is to it?"
Felix shifted in his seat, rubbing the back of his neck again. "Yeah, well, it's not really like a regular job. I have to, uh, make deliveries to… some pretty out-there places," he said, voice trailing off. The last thing he needed was to explain that his 'relocation' involved Hell and that he was, well, dead.
Clara studied him for a moment, her eyes narrowing. It was clear that she wasn't buying it, and she wasn't about to let him off the hook. "You're lying to me," she said bluntly. "You're holding something back, and I know it. What's really going on, Felix?"
Felix opened his mouth to speak but hesitated. For a moment, he just stared at the floor, unsure how much he should reveal. "Look, I can't explain everything," he muttered. "It's just... complicated. Okay?"
Clara wasn't satisfied, though, and her voice softened slightly as realizing she wasn't going to get more out of him. "You said that already…So, what now? Are you still gonna visit?"
Felix hesitated, his eyes flickering with uncertainty as he looked down at his hands. "I... I'm not sure. I'll try, though. I've got an idea. But, no promises, alright?"
Clara studied him for a moment, chewing on her lip before nodding slowly, though there was a hint of sadness in her eyes. "I'll take that. But don't make it too long, alright? Life's short, Felix."
Felix's shoulders slumped slightly, and he let out a quiet humourless chuckle. "Yeah, but the afterlife is forever," he muttered under his breath, the words barely audible.
Clara frowned, her brow furrowing. "What was that?"
Felix quickly looked up, startled, and shook his head with a nervous laugh. "N-nothing. Don't worry about it." He gave her a forced grin, trying to cover up the slip, but Clara's eyes narrowed in suspicion.
Clara held his gaze for a moment longer, then nodded, but not without a lingering sense of unease. "Alright, well, just promise me you'll keep in touch when you can. No more disappearing, okay?"
Felix nodded, his expression softening. "Yeah, I promise." He said the words without much conviction, unsure if he was really telling the truth. Before the conversation could go any further, another loud explosion echoed from outside, shaking the house slightly as a picture frame on the wall rattled and fell to the floor with a loud crash.
Felix and Clara exchanged startled glances before Loona appeared in the doorway, her clothes covered in soot and her usually sleek hair spiked up in wild tangles.
"Can we go now?" Loona asked, her voice flat tinged with impatience as her red eyes flicked to Felix, clearly ready to leave.
Felix and Loona stepped out of the house, the cool evening air greeting them as they moved down the porch steps. Clara followed them to the door, her arms folded as she watched them leave, still with that concerned but teasing expression on her face.
Clara's lips quirked into a smirk, though there was still a note of concern in her eyes. "Don't forget your promise," she said softly, her tone laced with that same quiet, but persistent worry.
Felix looked back at Clara, a bit sheepish, but he forced another smile. "I won't," Felix replied, but the certainty wasn't there.
Clara's expression softened, but the edge of concern never fully left her eyes. "You better," she said with a small, wistful sigh. "And if you do disappear again, doesn't matter where you're going, I'll hunt you down. Don't think I won't, Squeakers."
Felix's eyes went wide, his face turning bright red at the nickname. Loona, standing just beside him, couldn't help but let out a snicker. "Pfft, Squeakers?"
"Shut up!" Felix snapped, his embarrassment clear as he immediately turned towards his car, muttering under his breath. Loona followed, but before she could reach the car, Clara grabbed her by the wrist, pulling her back just slightly, her grip firm.
"Look," Clara began, her expression shifting to something more serious. "I don't know what kind of relationship you have with Felix, or what's really going on between you two, but can you just... keep an eye on him for me? Keep him out of trouble, if you can." Her voice softened at the end, clearly worried for her brother.
Loona hesitated, averting her gaze for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, I got it," she replied, her voice quieter now, almost reluctant. She pulled her hand away and made her way to the car, leaving Clara standing by the porch with a conflicted expression.
Felix raised an eyebrow as Loona climbed into the car. "What was that about?" he asked, trying to act casual but failing to hide his curiosity.
"Nothing." Loona replied nonchalantly, buckling her seatbelt as she leaned back in the seat, avoiding his gaze as she stared out the window. She cast a quick glance at Felix, a sly smile creeping onto her face. "So...Squeakers?"
Felix groaned, his face flushing again. "Don't. Start." he muttered as Felix started the engine, the sound of the car's growl filling the air as they pulled away from the driveway.
The swirling portal roared to life in the car park of the I.M.P. building as Felix's car rolled through the shimmering threshold, the familiar red haze of Hell greeting them as Felix parked the car in one of the few open spots.
As the car settled into the parking spot, the portal's shimmering light flickered out behind them, leaving Felix and Loona under Hell's perpetual crimson sky. Loona stepped out of the car with her tail swishing lazily as she stretched and glanced around the lot. Felix's yellow eyes lingered on her for a moment before drifting to the magic book resting in his hand. His gaze lingered longer than necessary, a faint, almost guilty look shadowing his features as his claws tightened around the edges of the book. After a moment, she leaned through the open window on Felix's side, her crimson eyes locking onto him as he handed her the book through the window.
"I'll talk to Blitzø," she said, her tone casual but laced with an undercurrent of sincerity. "Try and talk him out of killing you. Might even convince him to let you visit the human world every so often."
Felix blinked at her, surprised by the unexpected kindness in her voice. He tilted his head, his lips curling into a small, genuine smile. "Thanks, Loona. Appreciate it... and for everything else. You've been a real help."
Loona rolled her eyes, but a faint smirk tugged at her lips. "Don't get all sappy on me now," she said, pulling back from the window. "Just don't make me regret it, Squeakers."
Felix groaned loudly, letting his head fall back against the headrest. "You're never letting that go, are you?"
"Not a chance," Loona replied with a grin as she turned and sauntered toward the building, giving him a lazy wave over her shoulder.
Felix smirked softly as Loona sauntered away toward the I.M.P. building, her tail flicking lazily behind her. He let out chuckle despite himself before his phone buzzed in his pocket. His smirk faltered slightly when he saw the caller ID: Carmilla Carmine - Boss.
With a resigned sigh, Felix swiped to answer, bringing the phone to his ear. "Sup, boss," he drawled, leaning back in his seat and trying to sound casual.
The unmistakable voice of Camilla Carmine, cut through the line, smooth and clipped as always. "Felix, where have you been?" she asked, a slight edge in her voice that suggested she wasn't happy about his absence. "You're a no-show, and we've got business to deal with."
Felix smirked, tilting his head back against the seat. "Aww, did you miss me, Carmilla? I didn't know you cared."
"Don't flatter yourself," Carmilla snapped, though her exasperated tone suggested she was used to his antics. "You've got responsibilities, Felix. Assignments. Deliveries. Whatever it is you're doing, wrap it up. If I have to clean up your mess again—"
"Relax," Felix cut in, his voice still lazy but with a tinge of irritation now. "I'm handling it. Just had some… personal stuff to take care of."
"…I see, well, I hope your personal life won't proceed to be an issue," Carmilla responded coolly, though there was a slight trace of sympathy in her voice. "Meanwhile, we need to discuss your living arrangements."
Felix raised an eyebrow, sitting up straighter in his seat. "Don't tell me you're kicking me out already?" he replied with a playful tone, a half-smirk playing on his lips. "You'd miss me too much if I disappeared. Admit it."
"I'm not kicking you out, Felix," Carmilla responded, with an exasperated tone. "But we do need to talk about where you're staying. You need a permanent residence. Have you found a place of your own yet?"
Felix leaned back in his seat, tapping his claws on the steering wheel as he thought. "Nah, not yet," he replied nonchalantly before a certain commercial comes to mind, and a mischievous grin tugged at the corners of his mouth. "Actually, I think I got just the place," he said, his tone suddenly more upbeat. "I'll give you a call back later."
Felix hung up the phone before Carmine could respond, slipping it into his jacket pocket with a sigh. His clawed fingers already pulling out a folded, slightly crumpled piece of paper, unfolding it to reveal it to be a torn page from the magic book which he had stolen while Loona wasn't looking.
Felix's ears flattened back as he glanced at the I.M.P. building with a remorseful look, his yellow eyes shadowed with guilt as he muttered under his breath, "...Sorry, Loona."
Shaking off the moment of remorse, he quickly smoothed the page out and studied the instructions. His yellow eyes began to gleam with a mix of excitement and determination. "Alright, time to see if this actually works," Felix murmured to himself, setting the page down on the dashboard, gripping the steering wheel tighter as he began to focus on the instructions etched into the page.
A faint shimmer appeared in the air in front of him, and then, with a sharp crackle of energy, a swirling, vibrant portal opened up in the air beside him. Felix leaned forward, looking at the swirling vortex with wide eyes, barely able to contain his excitement. Without hesitation, he shifted the car into gear and slowly guided it toward the portal, the engine growling as he drove right into the swirling mass of energy before finding himself on the other side, pulling up in front of a towering building with a neon glow, the words Hazbin Hotel glowing in bright, bold letters above the roof.
Author Note:
Yea, so Felix stole a page so you can guess I.M.P will show up again soon. Anyway would like to make clear that this won't be a smut story but they'll be adult themes since its Hazbin and Helluva, another thing is that I had an issue with my USB holding my stories that corrupted my Hazbin folder, being replaced with a bunch of folders and files labeled with numbers and symbols that I can't open, so far its only been the two Hazbin stories I've already posted so its fine but thought I'd give you guys a heads up even though I've backed everything up

You know this is pretty good, but quick question? Is it ever stated in the show or do you have an answer for your fanfiction if Sinners that somehow make it back to Earth….. can they stay there or attempt to stay there permanently?
- Never stated but its clear that Hellborns can remain on Earth since Verosika has a human identity so don't see why Sinner's can't. It's that I.M.P go there illegally and if Hell doesn't approve of it then pretty sure Heaven wouldn't since they execute Sinners.

Felix and the others call him a serial killer. However, while he has killed a lot of people, that's not entirely accurate given that his targets are criminals and reprebates-drug dealers, serial rapists and killers, traffickers, etc. From the way I see it, Felix is more of a vigilante as he's establishing his own brand of justice, despite not wanting to be a hero and is more or less out of self-interests. He also has a conscience and doesn't harm innocent people, indirectly being a hero by saving lives in the process without praise or recognition, reminding me more of typical murderous vigilantes like Dexter Morgan, the Punisher, and Golden Age Batman (if you didn't know this, Batman use to kill mobsters and use guns when fighting crime in his first debut).
- Dexter Morgan is actually what I based the Oc's morals on, and even though he kills bad people he is still labelled as a serial killer as he's referred to as the Bay Harbor Butcher. Even Dexter's fandom page refers to him as a vigilante serial killer. Vigilantes are people who enforce their own law without legal authority which Felix could still fall under.

I need to see see Charlie x OC pairings I literally see none
- I literally see them everywhere, her and Vaggie when it comes to Hazbin Hotel
- If you want a decent one I would suggest Wings of an Angel by Miserable-Wretch (Haven't read it yet myself but I hear about it a lot.)
WolfDragon
Felix would say 'When I look at Blitz,I saw myself.
Later in the story Felix talk about their sisters.
- That Blitz thing is something I'm planning on doing in the future

Well, that was a very interesting chapter. Loved the dynamic between Felix and Loona. There is a tension building between them, one that will burst and the two will either fight each other which will probably lead to them having sex... or they'll just end up having sex.
Still, can't wait to see what trouble they get up to in the next chapter. If Felix going to be a member of I.M.P?
As for the 'What if?' pairings, I'd very much like to see the Carmilla one. Not sure how it's gonna go... unless Felix flat out calls her a MILF to her face.
- Sorry this won't be a smut story, there'll be adult themes but no Smut. Felix won't exactly be a member but he'll have a reason to want to tag along in the near future. And yea, I can see Felix calling Carmilla that, more out of teasing to try and annoy her.
