God of Shinobi

In the distant past, in a silent city ringed in from all sides,
Cheers erupted to the sound of a lyre and at last pierced the prison of raging winds.
A certain group, comprised of a youth, a spirit, an archer, a knight and a wandering flame-haired warrior,
Came and stood before the tower that loomed like a sky-piercing lance,
That cast a shadow like that of a titan,
And they swore to be free, and vowed to shatter the rule of the tower's lone tyrant.

The weak and infirm who could not scale the tower instead sang the song that, till now, had only ever been whispered in corners where the wind did not reach,
And that drinking song rose up with force enough to shake the city walls, spurring the heroes on as they climbed...
"If someone plucks out your tongue, you can still sing with your eyes."
"If someone blinds you in both eyes, you can still see with your ears."
"But if anyone dares to steal your song, the freedom you yearn for,"
"— That alone, that alone shall never do!"

Chapter 8:

Moving Forward

The resistance had finally won, the civil war had ended, and the God of Storm had admitted defeat, surrendering his fate to the people of Mondstadt.

The God of Storm lay in the lush grass, feeling the cool, delicate blades beneath him as they swayed gently in the breeze.

His once-mighty form, now weary and subdued, sank into the soft earth as he gazed up at the sky above. The remnants of his power flickered faintly around him, like distant echoes of the storms he once commanded.

The sky was an expanse of brilliant blue, unmarred by a single cloud. It stretched endlessly in all directions, a canvas of pure color that seemed to go on forever. The sun, a radiant golden orb, hung high above, its rays beaming down with a gentle warmth that bathed the landscape below in a soft, comforting light.

He could see birds soaring gracefully through the air, their wings glinting in the sunlight as they ascended to the heavens, unshackled by the Earth below. The air was filled with the earthy aroma of sun-warmed grass.

In the distance, the mountains stood tall and majestic, their peaks capped with a dusting of snow that gleamed brilliantly against the azure sky. The sight of the mountains, serene and steadfast, added a sense of grandeur to the already stunning panorama.

The bright sky above seemed to infuse everything with a sense of vitality and wonder; it was something the people had strived for a long time, and he—a god—finally realized it.

Mondstadt had fallen to ruins, but despite that, they managed to find temporary shelter with the help of the unknown gods, Naruto and Havria. Their presence brought uncertainty and fear; some of the people cast glances at them before avoiding their presence, yet a minority tried to learn more about their existence.

Nonetheless, they had more empathy towards his people than he did himself.

"How pathetic…" Decarabian's voice trembled, thick with regret and profound sadness.

This was the freedom his people had yearned for, and he had failed them. The crushing weight of his own inadequacy bore down on him, leaving him hollow.

"Still lamenting the past, are you?"

The King of Wolves sat beside him, his presence a quiet strength in the midst of ruin. His eyes, usually fierce, softened as he looked upon the fallen god. His tail wagged slowly, almost hesitantly, as if trying to dispel the heavy gloom with a small, mischievous smile—a feeble attempt at comfort.

"What are you? A dog?" Decarabian's voice cracked with bitterness, the mockery hiding the raw pain within. But Andrius only chuckled softly, laughing at the Tyrant wholeheartedly. "Heh… who would've thought you'd become this docile."

"Yeah, about that…" Andrius sighed, the weight of memories dragging him down. His thoughts wandered to the battle he had before, to the endless hours spent and in silent reflection. "I owe my life to someone… someone who saved me from myself. I promised him I'd protect her people. Even now, after everything… it's the least I can do to atone for the sins I've committed against the mortals."

Decarabian could sense to whom those words were directed

Naruto.

That name stirred something deep within him—uncertainty, confusion.

He could barely sense anything extraordinary from the mortal-God, and yet… he was wary of the man's very existence.

Who exactly is he?

He told them he was a mere mortal…

Don't make me laugh.

"Then I guess I have it much easier than you, huh."

"Pfttt, you're one to talk! If it hadn't been for us, you would've died!" Andrius growled, but there was a note of reluctant admiration in his voice. "Then again… maybe surrendering myself to them was the right choice… If I could do it all over again, I wouldn't mind facing the same fate."

Decarabian closed his eyes, feeling the sting of truth in Andrius's words.

Lupus Boreas had always been the talkative one, yet it was he who bore the most remorse, who deserved the title of Archon more than him.

"The Archon War has ended…"

"For our region, yesnow we wait for their invitation." Andrius nodded, his gaze drifting to the majestic city floating in the distant sky. It was a revolting sight, one he longed to tear down with his own claws.

Decarabian sighed deeply.

"It's between those three, isn't it?"

Andrius paused, lost in thought.

Beyond Mondstadt lay Vindagnyr, a city he was bound to protect in the distant future. Its ruler was none other than Her Majesty herself, Lady Havria, the Goddess of Salt. He could feel her strength, but if it was between those three—Barbatos, Havria, and Naruto—the answer was already clear.

But…

"I believe… it's between those two. Naruto, for reasons I can't fathom, doesn't want to rule the people of Teyvat."

Decarabian would have scoffed at that, but after witnessing Naruto's kindness, he understood why Andrius gave that answer. For someone so strong, his only weakness seemed to be his boundless compassion… one day, someone might exploit that softness.

"As if I care!"

"You were the one who asked!"

Decarabian's laughter echoed through the ruins, a rare sound that broke through the sorrow. He smiled at Andrius, who managed a grin in return. Then, with a sudden surge of determination, the God of Storms stood up from where he had been lying. Standing on the grass, he extended his hand to the sky, then beyond the horizon, pointing toward a distant, unknown land.

"I'm leaving Teyvat… The people have exiled me from this land, and I have no reason to visit other regions. There's nothing left for me here."

Andrius frowned, sensing the finality in Decarabian's words. The dark sea… He had heard of that place, a void beyond the continent of Teyvat where gods fled to escape the Archon War.

"Do you really wish for that?"

"What else can I do? I have no reason to stay here!" Decarabian's voice cracked, anger boiling beneath the surface. He tried to suppress it, but every time he thought about the people of Mondstadt and what he had done to them, his rage only grew, feeding on his guilt.

"Vindagnyr will always welcome you," Havria interjected softly, stepping into the conversation. She leaned gently against Andrius, her hand moving through the wolf's soft fur as if seeking comfort.

"…"

"If you need a reason… then come back to Vindagnyr and protect my people."

Huh?

Decarabian couldn't comprehend why, but a wave of sadness overwhelmed him. Tears, unexpected and unwelcome, trickled down the face of the once-tyrant god.

Does someone unworthy as me deserved a second chance?

"What are you? A baby!?" Andrius hollered in laughter, the sound full of rough amusement as he watched the tyrant god break down before him.

But Decarabian didn't care.

He didn't argue or fight back.

Instead, he sank to his knees in front of Havria, his hands trembling as he extended them, waiting for her blessing.

"H-huh?" The beautiful silver-haired goddess was caught off guard, her eyes wide with surprise at his sudden submission.

"I shall live by your will, Your Majesty, Lady Havria," he declared, his voice choked with emotion. Havria, though startled, accepted his oath. An ethereal ice sword materialized, resting gently on his shoulder as she bestowed her blessing. "I shall be your knight; a sword for you and a shield for your people."

Elsewhere in the shelter, a sprawling wooden encampment hastily constructed from wood, Naruto was busy treating the injured. The encampment, though temporary, was sturdy, with rows of wooden huts and makeshift tents surrounding a central area where the wounded were being tended to. The air was thick with the scent of pine and earth, mingling with the faint smell of herbs and medicine. Simple torches mounted on poles flickered, casting a warm, amber glow across the rough-hewn surfaces.

Naruto moved swiftly between the makeshift beds, regenerating lost limbs with his chakra and restoring vitality to people who had once been beyond saving. The wooden floors creaked underfoot, and the walls of the shelter were lined with bandages, herbs, and hastily prepared medical supplies. Despite the rustic environment,

Naruto's work brought an air of hope to the encampment.

Beside him stood Lord Lawrence, who had been following him ever since Naruto healed him. The head of the Lawrence clan, clad in a worn but noble outfit, his eyes filled with a mix of admiration and resolve, respected Naruto and wished to return the gesture he had done before.

However, Naruto, focused on his task and indifferent to any formalities, refused the offer.

"Can't you stop following me already?" Naruto asked.

"That I cannot do, Lord Naruto."

"Just Naruto is fine…!"

Lord Lawrence hesitated for a moment before sighing and conceding to the shinobi's demand.

"Fine... Naruto."

Naruto smirked, gently resting his palm on the man's chest before catching him off-guard. The sword master felt a small pulse from the shinobi's hand as the wind sent him flying away.

"Good, now don't disturb me."

Amos gasped at the scene she had just witnessed, yet for some reason, she felt that Lord Lawrence wouldn't be deterred. The man had always gotten what he wanted; no matter how long it took, he would get his wish.

"W-wait!"

Before Lord Lawrence could re-enter the shelter, a barrier erupted and protected the entire camp, preventing only him from entering.

"Stay there and stop disturbing me," Naruto commented.

The beautiful craftswoman sweat dropped at their antics, but then she walked toward Naruto.

"W-we have ten m-more patients, Naruto," Amos informed him, her voice still hoarse from having her vocal cords crushed earlier.

The shinobi nodded and followed after her.

He didn't waste any more time.

Once he was done, he walked toward Amos.

"Come closer."

Amos tilted her head, confused but obedient. She watched as he aimed at her neck, her body reacting spontaneously to block his hand.

"Calm down, I just want to heal you."

Amos felt her body trembling; the scene of Decarabian crushing her still haunted her. She closed her eyes and felt his index finger on her neck, tracing her cords before a gentle breeze kissed her skin.

"Try to speak," Naruto instructed.

"O-okay?" she stuttered, but as she spoke, her eyes widened in surprise.

The pain had completely disappeared.

"Havria is still an amateur, so I hope you'll forgive her."

"No! I am still grateful that Lady Havria healed me… I have no right to complain."

"Of course you do. She's a god; the least she could do is heal someone without side effects."

Amos giggled at how the shinobi was complaining.

Those two, Havria and Naruto, are perfect for each other... They were kind and caring. For a god to show such compassion… perhaps they had suffered too much.

After that, they left the shelter and were once again greeted by Lord Lawrence.

"What do you want this time?"

Lord Lawrence felt a bead of sweat trail down his cheek before clearing his throat. "Lord Barbatos and the clan heads wish to invite you and Lady Havria to a meeting."

Naruto thought it over for a moment before asking, "Why? We have no reason to be invited."

Lord Lawrence quickly replied, "You have treated the wounded, created a temporary settlement, stopped the ongoing civil war, and… the existence of Vindagnyr. I believe we have every right to include you and Lady Havria in this meeting."

Naruto sighed. After hearing those reasons, he had no choice but to agree.

"Fine then, lead the way, Mr. Clan head."

"Yes, milord!"

Lord Lawrence led Naruto to a hut in the middle of the temporary settlements. Inside, Naruto noticed Decarabian among the attendees. He made his way to the vacant seat beside Havria, who waved at him.

Amos also joined the meeting.

"You're finally here, Naruto," Barbatos greeted with a smile.

The God of Wind hovered near the blonde, gazing at him intently. "Can we talk once the meeting is over? There's something I want to discuss."

"Fine by me," Naruto nodded, returning the smile.

The wind spirit was ecstatic and hovered back toward Venti, who was curious about why his friend was so joyful.

"Ahem, we can start the meeting now, Lady Gunnhildr," Barbatos commanded as the head of the Gunnhildr clan nodded. Clearing her throat, she stood up from her seat and began speaking slowly, starting with the history of Mondstadt. Her voice was striking and vibrant, each topic explained carefully and in great detail. She continued by discussing the fate of Mondstadt, the people, the wounds that had been treated, and the dwindling food supply.

The meeting went on for hours. Five hours had passed, yet no one felt bored.

Lady Gunnhildr managed to keep everyone engaged.

'She's a good leader,' Naruto thought, realizing the striking resemblance between her and old man Sarutobi. The old man might have had many misfortunes and mishaps, but in the end, the third Hokage gave everything for Konoha.

Naruto couldn't help but reminisce about his past; some memories were as fresh as yesterday, while others were blurred.

"Now then, any suggestions? Feel free to share your ideas; this is for the future of our country," Lady Gunnhildr said, her mind focused solely on Mondstadt, giving her all to her people and her god.

The three big clans of Mondstadt exchanged glances.

Lady Gunnhildr awaited their answers as she glanced at the heads of the Lawrence and Ragnvindr clans.

A minute passed, then two, but everyone seemed lost in their thoughts, unable to speak their minds.

Lady Gunnhildr sighed before offering her own suggestion: that they assist by providing medicine and everyday necessities to the people, while also acting as Mondstadt's official knights alongside the Lawrence and Ragnvindr clans.

Once she spoke, everyone seemed to spring into action.

Lord Lawrence suggested an expedition to explore the region of Mondstadt in search of a more suitable place to establish as the new capital.

The red-haired warrior, Master Ragnvindr, however, refused the offer.

Deciding to announced his retirement from knighthood and suggested instead the establishment of an academy under his family's order to provide free education for everyone, regardless of age.

There were many agreements and disagreements.

Venti and Barbatos were merely spectators, refusing to participate, though Venti made one suggestion: to let people's thoughts be free and to unshackle them from unnecessary laws, meaning they would need to revise the laws established by Decarabian.

The God of Storms remained silent, watching how the meeting unfolded.

He glanced at Amos, who seemed to avoid and refuse to look at him.

Both Naruto and Havria remained silent until Vindagnyr was mentioned.

Havria told the story of how the city was established, the terrible fate it had faced, how Celestia seemed to have abandoned and discarded them, their tales of years ago, and how they saved Vindagnyr from its demise.

The news of the Archon War and the turmoil in other regions surprised everyone, including Barbatos.

Decarabian, however, merely scoffed and said nothing.

Celestia is a bunch of hypocrites, acting as they please – The storm barricade was to prevent their gaze from reaching his people.

No one seemed to know about it until now; of course, they don't…he kept that knowledge to himself and a few selected people.

"They were once the people of Mondstadt…" Lady Gunnhildr pondered aloud, sadness lacing her voice as she considered the plight of the Vindagnyr, who had managed to find shelter among the blizzards. "I believe we can act as allies… Perhaps we could establish embassies in both countries."

"We can do that," Havria nodded. "But this is something I must discuss with my people as well."

Lady Gunnhildr nodded and glanced at Lord Lawrence. The latter felt her gaze and nodded in return.

"Very well, I shall go there and deliver the news," Lord Lawrence said. "While we're at it, I'll need men to help me map the geography of our region and find suitable soil for us to settle in."

The meeting continued for a few more minutes before Lady Gunnhildr ended it with a sigh of relief. Decarabian was the first to leave without a word, followed by Lord Lawrence and Master Ragnvindr. Lady Gunnhildr was the third to exit, with Amos being the last.

"So, what's on your mind?" Naruto asked, staring at the spirit and waiting for a response.

Barbatos glanced at Venti, who tilted his head in curiosity.

"What's wrong, my friend?" Venti asked.

Barbatos hummed thoughtfully, uncertain of the strange connection he felt with Naruto.

"Do I know you?" the God of Wind asked, hovering closer to the shinobi.

It was such a bizarre question; Naruto had expected something different.

"What makes you think so?" Naruto inquired.

"When we shook hands that day, I saw a glimpse of you in my memory…" Barbatos replied, his voice tinged with confusion and uncertainty, afraid he had mistaken the shinobi for someone else. "I feel like I know you… No, I feel like we've known each other for a very long time."

Naruto narrowed his eyes.

"I doubt it. This is our first encounter," the blonde answered truthfully.

"Is… that so?" Barbatos felt a tinge of sadness in his heart, disappointed by Naruto's response. But he couldn't blame the shinobi; after all, he was equally confused by this unknown and unbearable feeling.

How is this possible?

"Now, now, that doesn't mean we can't get to know each other now," Naruto said, patting the small spirit. Barbatos smiled.

"Really?"

"Yes."

"Really?"

"Yes…"

"R-really?"

"I don't want to repeat myself again, but yes."

Barbatos chuckled and apologized.

"Ehe… sorry." Barbatos was once again ecstatic, flying around the shinobi in happiness before returning to Venti's side; the bard chuckled at how childish for a God to reacted this way.

"So cute…!" Havria gasped in surprise as she watched the wind spirit part ways with them, joining the bard, who chuckled at Barbatos' antics. The joy was palpable, as the people of Mondstadt felt a gentle breeze sweep across the settlements.

"How weird, huh?" Havria giggled. "Maybe it has something to do with your past…?" she suggested, recalling their first encounter and how Naruto had been seeking answers about the whereabouts of his hometown.

But throughout his life, he had been sealed inside that cave, and she had stumbled upon him by chance.

Then… how did Barbatos feel that connection to him?

Deep in thought, Havria realized that Naruto's existence might be more complicated than she had initially believed.

The question gnawed at her.

How did he end up sealed in that cave? Who sealed him there?

"The greatest savior of humanity's soul rests at this place."

Havria glanced at the shinobi, her expression now filled with uncertainty.

He was a hero—the greatest savior for the mortals.

He existed for a purpose.

But he was a mere soul, right? How did he gain a body?

A soul cannot exist without a vessel… A human body would decompose within a few days after death…

Did the sealing technique preserve his body alongside his soul as well? There's no way a human could possess such power…

Unless a God had a say in it.

She winced as Naruto flicked her forehead multiple times.

"It took you five minutes and thirty seconds to finally return to reality," Naruto chuckled, causing her to pout.

"I was just thinking about you."

"That's so sweet," he smirked, making her blush when she realized how it sounded. But she didn't hate it. She loved him, and she realized that now; her feelings weren't just because he had saved her.

He had the qualities of a great partner.

One who would never abandon her.

"You were the reason I'm still alive, Naruto…" the Goddess trailed off, feeling a bit emotional. "What if I lose you one day? Would there still be a reason for me to exist?"

"Of course, you would. You have your people. They need you as much as you need me. Besides… who told you I'll be gone?"

Havria sighed and stood up from her seat.

"Yes, I know! You're the strongest!" she grumbled cutely, and Naruto laughed as they both walked out of the hut.

Leaning against a tree, Lord Lawrence was waiting for them. Clearing his throat, the man declared, "Lord Naruto… I wish to return the gesture by offering you, my clan."

"Don't be ridiculous. I don't want to become a clan head," Naruto sighed as the man tried to persuade him repeatedly.

"Ugh…" Lord Lawrence trailed off in sheer disappointment, watching as the shinobi continued to walk away. "Just a moment, please!"

Naruto sighed as both he and Havria stopped.

"Fine, I'll listen to your request. Just this one last chance —make it good."

Lord Lawrence nodded. "I understand. It's just that I hate the thought of someone helping me, and I can't repay the gesture… You healed me from a grave injury, not just me but everyone in Mondstadt… That's why, please, Lord Naruto, just this once, let me repay you by offering you my lineage… anyone, just anyone is fine, be it from this time or beyond…"

Naruto sighed.

Was there a reason for him to choose multiple partners?

He glanced at Havria, noticing how pretty she was as she looked at him, confused.

Naruto cleared his throat. "Fine… do whatever you wish, but don't force anyone onto me, and don't come running to me again with unrealistic demands."

"Yes, I understand, milord!"

Naruto sighed.

"Let's go, Havria."

"Do you truly need multiple wives?" Havria asked out of curiosity.

"No, don't be ridiculous. I'm a loyal man—I just need one." Naruto's answer made Havria feel relieved, although she added another response.

"But there is no harm for Gods to have many partners…"

Naruto bonked her on the head, and she groaned in pain, holding her head.

Author Note:

Another chapter dropped by me; this is to make up with how long it took me to update a chapter before. I hope everyone would forgive me for the delay before since I had something to do with real life. Just so you know, certain chapter will be longer when a battle involves, I might even take sometimes by watching a few anime fight scenes or any action movies to inspired me in making them.

Now this chapter mentioned about the state of Mondstadt after the civil war, how Decarabian made a decision, the meeting with the clan heads under the Gods presence and the list goes on and on. I also did some modification with Clan heads, if you checked the wiki – the Imunlaukr clan is amongst the big three clans, however since Vindagnyr still exist, the Imunlaukr clan will be one of the big clans in Vindagnyr, some of them might even transmigrate to Mondstadt in the future; this means they never exist nor participate in the civil war against Decarabian. I made sure to recheck the lore and did this modification since this is a fanfiction, so yes the lore might not be 100% accurate, so forgive me if I did make mistakes.

Third, the chapter Wind of Change gains a few followers and respondent, 1.200 views and 900 visitors, it's not much I guess but I'm glad to see people still drops by and read what I wrote since I do think I'm a terrible writer, so seeing so many supports made me feel relieved that for once my existence can make people feel joy.

This is one long author notes hehe, sorry for rambling too much. I hope to see more reviews flooding in, I want to create a great community where everyone can interact kindly to each other and I hope my readers can fulfill that wish. So yup, let me know what you think of this chapter also I still need some suggestions on which characters you want to be paired with Naruto, they can be anyone during the Archon War or beyond that (current Genshin Impact timeline). Just make sure to add your reasons why you want them to be added.

Now then, I will start answering the reviews:

EVIL-SAGE: Glad you're enjoying it, keep it up with the reviews :D

MalignanceAmeli: Yes, you were right, and I just realized this now; this was my mistake, its supposed to be a yin and yang technique, since the yin release can be utilized a technique by sheer imagination and adding the yang release, boom, you have the supernova; an attack that can revitalize the land without causing any destruction. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll make sure to fix that in the future updates.

AetherialQ: I'll bear that in mind, thank you for telling me that. And yes, you were right, I'll probably just drop the Naruto x Star Rail fic and focuses on those four stories for now (God of Shinobi, A Mentor's Legacy, Written Future and the upcoming Naruto x HSR). The Wuwa fic is just a thought that crossed my mind once, I had that thought when I was playing the companion quest. So yes, its nothing but a thought for now.

Srecko: Cheers mate!

Aruto-kun:Noted, and sorry for making you wait.

Redlox2: Hey friend, its' been a while, huh. I'm glad you enjoy the update, now about the Lawrence clan fell from grace I can't guarantee anything since I had some other plans for Naruto during that time…it won't be great, and people will probably hate it. But since Naruto exist here, the Lawrence clan fate might be different after all…who knows, right?

Pandeynewmar123: Naruto does remember his past, but not all of them.

Qrious writ3r: You will have to wait to get your answer. Hopefully I'll cook once we got there. Regardless, there's a theory that Venti knows the traveller, and it seems Teyvat is in a loop, its just speculation after speculation, guess we just have to wait once the actual lore dropped. So yeah, it's nothing but speculation for the game. But I won't be surprised if that's actually true since Samsara do exist in the Honkai Impact 3rd storyline.

Brandr0709: Yes, I do have some plan for the Tsaritsa and this will develop her character as the Goddess of Love, Naruto's existence will influence her to a certain extend one of them is the establishment of the Fatui.

Nyx523: In a sense Wuwa lacked everything except gameplay lol, that's probably why its still short in fanfiction. Then again, kurogames has been cooking ever since the 1.1 updates. The companion quest are great, wish the ver 1.0 was as great as that, but no, it was rushed and feels terrible. For now the wuwa story is merely a thought that crossed my mind when I played Changli's story quest, if I do make one, I want the pairing to be Naruto x Rover x Changli hehe. It's a pity I couldn't get Changli though, for some unknown reason I lost 50/50 thrice lol

Zeed0187: Now worries, feel free to ask more questions, I do hope to hear more feedbacks from the readers hehe.

Demiurge Sasuga: Thanks for the suggestions, there will be some Goddesses that has feeling for him and some of them might not get their feelings returned. One I can confirm is that Naruto will love both Havria and Istaroth. His feelings towards Eula will be told in the future chapters. It will be a harem but won't focus around that, I want this story to be told as a journey where Naruto ventured Teyvat and discovered the real truth. Let me know if you want me to pair Naruto with someone else, just make sure you provide with a good reason why they should be paired with our beloved protagonist.

DovahBro: Why would he bow down to Celestia? When they're much weaker than him, so yes, no Archon, nothing sorts of that.

Surya25addanki: Cheers mate, keep rooting for me!

R-King93: Not as awesome as you my beloved reader hehe!

NatsuErzaDragneelSusanoo: No need to be that extreme, I will update A Mentor's Legacy once I get to chapter 10 on the God of Shinobi. So be patient my friend.

Brachiosaurus: Thank you for the kind words, friend.

Dragonkeeper10: This will be explained soon, and you will see the surprise reaction on Naruto's face.

Until next time!

Chapter 9:

To you - 50 million years from now.
