In Bali
Kara was waking up and moved from Oliver's chest to get up and used the restroom until she missed her step and fell on the floor on her butt. The sound woke Oliver up, and they just saw Kara lying on the floor. It made Oliver chuckle and worry.
Kara let out a deep exhale and felt exhausted from carrying her baby and wanted him here already. She saw Oliver walking towards her, and she looked up and smiled at the fact she was just lying there.
"So, are you enjoying the floor so much that you're lying on the floor?" Oliver asked her, sitting next to her.
"Nope, I fell on the floor and I couldn't get up because of him," Kara said, pointing to her stomach.
"Are you okay?" Oliver asked.
"Yeah, I just can't get up from this spot. I tried already, and this big belly of mine just won't let me get up," Kara said.
"Come on," Oliver said before helping her off the floor.
"Soon, this belly won't be here anymore, and can finally walk down the steps," Kara said and sat back down on the bed.
"You're almost close to giving birth, and it'll all be worth it after you have Tommy," Oliver said, and Kara nodded her head.
"I know. It's just I'm hoping our night out doesn't involve me having to go to the restroom every minute of the day," Kara said, sighing to herself.
"It won't be like that unless we can have dinner over here and not have to worry about your water breaking in public," Oliver suggested.
"No, this is gonna be my first time out with this massive stomach, and I want to at least enjoy outdoor food rather than take-out food that we've been eating for the past few months," Kara said, and Oliver laughed.
"Okay, it is fair to enjoy outdoor food instead of us enjoying some takeout food. I just don't want anything to go wrong if we do go out, like if your water breaks, why would we do then," Oliver said, and Kara smiled at him.
"Oliver? Are you scared?" Kara asked him.
"A little bit; I mean, if you go into labor or start having contractions, why could I do to help? Because, news flash, I'm not good at being a father," Oliver said, starting to freak out.
"Ollie, it's gonna be okay. Look, I have no idea what I'm doing either. All I know is that we can figure this out together, and you're doing a great job with William. I mean, you left your city just to protect your son," Kara said, and Oliver nodded his head.
"Yeah, I just feel bad about keeping you locked in this house because I'm afraid that our team will find us and want to hurt you and the baby," Oliver said and Kara agreed.
"I get your worries, and I honestly am terrified of what would happen if Alex finds out that I faked my death. I know us running away wasn't, let's say, a good idea, but it was to me because I want to give my son the best life instead of enemies of mine wanting to hurt the one that I care about, especially Tommy," Kara said, and Oliver hugged her.
"I will do anything for you, and if it means protecting Tommy from harm's way and hurting my old teammates. I just feel terrible keeping this a secret from Barry because he was so hurt when you died," Oliver said and Kara nodded her head.
"I know. I saw the look in their eyes, but it was for the best because the more people know that I'm alive, then Alex will get suspicious and investigate it, and I don't want her to know I'm alive for the sake of my family," Kara said.
"That will never happen because I'll make sure Alex knows her place. To me, your sister isn't that scary. Barry, on the other hand, is very scared of your sister, and I know he'll crack if she interrogates him," Oliver said, and Kara laughed.
"Yeah, I know. Barry told me that my sister sounded scary when we first met each other; all I know is that keeping me hidden is the best way possible until Tommy is a little bit older," Kara said, and Oliver understood.
"How long do you think we can keep you a secret from our friends?" Oliver asked.
"Not long. I can't take off my red sun bracelet because I feel that if I do, I'll go back to my old self and want to hurt our friends," Kara said, and Oliver rubbed her back.
"I just need to know a way to get this red kryptonite out of my system and return to the old Kara Danvers that I used to hate," Kara said.
"The old Kara Danvers never sucked, Kara. The Kara I met when we took down the Dominators saved my life, and she reminded me what it's like to be a hero even though I'm not one," Oliver said, and Kara scoffed.
"You are a hero, Oliver. In my book, Oliver Queen is a hero, just because you dress up as a vigilante doesn't make you lesser than a hero Barry and I used to be. You and Barry can put those suits on and pretend everything is okay, but I can't, I can never be Supergirl anymore because that woman who had hope and believed there was always another way is gone and I don't think she'll ever come back," Kara said and Oliver shook his head in disagreement.
"No, I believe the old Kara Danvers is in there and Alex took that away from you, but you can get it back and make her see you the way you want to be seen. You can still be Supergirl just like how Barry and I can be the Flash and Green Arrow," Oliver said and Kara nodded her head.
"How do you suggest that I can make Alex see that I'm more than a monster everyone portrayed me and Clark to be? Oliver, I'm not human, and they have a right to fear Clark and me because we're aliens. Alex called me a monster and blamed me for causing her father to disappear; she's right about me being a monster and causing her father to leave," Kara said as tears fell down her eyes.
"I don't believe that you may be a monster but so am I and I don't let that stop me from trying to do good and not let that stop me from proving to my city that I'm more than a monster and I can be a hero too," Oliver said and Kara sniffled.
"You think I can convince Alex that I'm not the same person that arrived on Earth and it wasn't my doing that got her father to be taken away. I just can't go back to my Earth and pretend everything she did doesn't hurt," Kara said and Oliver understood.
"I get that, but show her that and convince her that you won't be returning to your old Earth and you can stay here with me and begin a new life for your son. Give him the best life that you believe is possible for you just like how I am doing with William. I believe in you, Kara, and I trust that you always believed in yourself to do the best thing for Tommy," Oliver said, and Kara nodded her head.
"Yeah, thanks, Oliver. Sorry for calling you Ollie; it's just old habit calling my deceased husband that," Kara explained, and Oliver pulled her closer.
"It's okay, Kara. I don't mind you calling me Ollie. Sara, Laurel, and Barry call me Ollie still; well, Barry started calling me that recently, and I don't mind you calling me that," Oliver said, and Kara smiled.
"I just can't believe that I cried in front of Oliver Queen. It's just embarrassing crying in front of your friends; I usually cried in front of my old team and family," Kara explained, and Oliver understood.
"Don't worry, your secret is safe with me, and I also cried in front of my friends and family. You don't have to be embarrassed to cry in front of me because I won't judge you," Oliver said and Kara nodded her head.
In The Middle of The Night
Kara was getting herself dressed in a dress that fit her; she made some friends in Bali as Oliver and she moved in as their new neighbors. They helped her look for some maternity dresses to wear for her and the baby.
She agreed to a date with Oliver or, well, dinner because this was the only time she could get out of the house before the baby arrived. Kara hit her final trimester and still has a few weeks until the baby boy is here. Oliver has the nursery ready and won't have Kara or William look at it until Tommy is here.
Tonight was the night for the both of them to confess their feelings for each other and hope nothing would go wrong if that were to happen, but they're not heroes anymore. They put that away and focused on being parents more. Oliver wanted more than to tell everyone that Kara was alive, but he didn't trust them to not and try to kill her or send her to Earth-38 to her sister.
Raisa was gonna watch William for the night as Oliver and Kara go out to dinner. William was hoping when they got back to the house, they would be together by then. He loved Felicity, but his father looked happier when he was around Kara and looked in love when he looked at her.
Kara headed downstairs as Oliver was telling William to be on his best behavior and sarcastically agreeing to his rules. Oliver froze when he saw Kara walk down the stairs she looked beautiful in her dress, and Kara looked at her dress.
"Is it too much?" Kara asked and Oliver stopped her.
"No, it's perfect. You look very beautiful," Oliver said and Kara smiled.
"You look very handsome. Who knew Oliver Queen rocked suits?" Kara asked him.
"A lot of people. Barry said I looked good in a tuxedo for his wedding," Oliver said and Kara nodded her head.
"I know, and he isn't wrong," Kara said before clearing her throat. "We ready?" She asked.
"Yeah. Just saying goodbye to William and hoping he behaves," Oliver looked at William and was still stunned by her answer.
"Ollie, I kept in contact with you and Barry. Just keeping tabs on you. Just because I was under the influence of red kryptonite or wanting to kill my sister doesn't mean that wasn't me still," Kara said and Oliver nodded his head.
"Barry and I wanted to save you before Alex and J'onn stepped in," Oliver said.
"Well, I'm alive now. Alex and J'onn believe that I'm dead, and it should stay that way," Kara said, and Oliver agreed.
"Let's go to dinner before we miss our spot," Oliver said and Kara took his arm.
"Don't stay up too late, William," Kara said and William nodded his head.
Oliver and Kara headed out as William waved bye to them. Oliver helped Kara into the car, and they climbed in after he helped her on the passenger side, and they were off to dinner.
At Dinner
Within a couple of minutes, they arrived at their destination. Oliver helped Kara out of the car, and they headed inside the restaurant. The waiter showed them to their seats Oliver helped Kara sit down before taking a sit himself.
"This is the first time that I've been in a nice restaurant without doing my assistant duties," Kara said, looking around.
"Really?" Oliver asked.
"Yeah, I had to send reservations for my boss's dinners and meetings for our company. Sometimes she'll send me to the parties to interview the biggest CEOs," Kara said, and Oliver smiled at her.
"I hope you won't hate that you are my assistant after being an assistant most of your life," Oliver and Kara laughed.
"Hey, I enjoy getting you coffee and being able to handle all of your meetings even the boring ones. At least you actually can pronounce my name right," Kara said, and Oliver smiled.
"Well, soon, when you're able to come back and feel better to leave Tommy with Raisa, then we can have my favorite assignment back and able to get my coffee orders right," Oliver said,d, and Kara giggled.
"I'm guessing my replacement hasn't been doing a good job of getting your coffee orders right," Kara laughed, and Oliver shook his head.
"Yep. I won't be in the office for a while until you and Tommy are settled whenever he arrives here," Oliver said and Kara nodded her head.
"I just want to say thank you for helping me fake my death and keeping me hidden from everyone even if it meant lying to your friends," Kara and Oliver sighed.
"They're your friends too and I'm pretty sure that they're missing you as much as you miss them. I heard that Winn gave Barry your old suit, and he hung it up as a memory of you," Oliver said, and Kara sighed as well.
"I wanted to tell Barry that I'm alive and okay, but I just think the more that know I'm alive, then Alex will know that I faked my death," Kara explained, and Oliver understood.
"I understand, and we're doing a good job keeping you away from the world, but sooner or later, we're gonna have to tell them about you and the baby," Oliver said, pointing out the fact that Kara had to tell their friends the truth.
"I know and we will. I just want to wait around until Tommy is at least one before introducing him to everyone that wanted to hurt me and my baby," Kara said and Oliver took her hand.
"I'll be there right by your side and make sure they won't hurt you or Tommy. When Tommy is old enough, then we can return to Central City and tell Barry that you're alive," Oliver said, and Kara nodded her head.
"There's one thing after we tell everyone about me being alive: I can't return to my normal life and being Supergirl anymore," Kara said, and Oliver looked confused.
"I thought you'd return being Supergirl," Oliver said.
"I'm not Supergirl or Overgirl. I'm someone else who can put the lives of people in danger with my powers. When I joined my ex-husband and Thawne's evil plans to destroy your world, Eobard injected me with red kryptonite to be this monster everyone feared me to be," Kara explained to Oliver.
"You're still Kara, and you don't have to return as Supergirl, just like I won't be Green Arrow again. Maybe it's just time for us to hang up our suits and focus on being parents," Oliver suggested for them to quit being superheroes.
"What if Barry or your team needs their leader to straighten them out?" Kara asked.
"I'll give them advice about the mistakes they make, but I won't be returning to Green Arrow. William needs a father that is always there and not running around chasing bad guys as Green Arrow anymore," Oliver said and Kara nodded her head.
Kara smiled and nodded before they started ordering their meals. Kara ordered something spicy because, at the moment, she's been wanting to help get the baby here quicker and learned some ideas for labor to come quickly.
Oliver ordered a simple meal, and maybe later, they could bring some food back to William. They were enjoying their food and Oliver knew it was time to confess about his feelings for Kara.
Throughout their meal, Kara felt the baby kick every time she talked to Oliver and finished off another meal. She just thought that her baby was more hungry or thirsty and drank more water. She missed the taste of beer and wine, but soon she can drink again and not have to worry about another pregnancy.
"I'm finished. Do you think we should get William something to eat?" Oliver asked Kara.
"Yeah. He deserves something a little more junk food, plus it isn't fair that we're eating a good meal and he's just eating some food that Raisa is making him. No offense, she makes a good meal and all. I just think we can spoil William with Big Belly Burger," Kara said, and Oliver chuckled.
"You okay? You seem like you're in a lot of pain," Oliver said, concerned about Kara.
"I'm fine; it's just that I might have had too many spicy meals. The baby is moving around so much and kicking my bladder," Kara said, holding her stomach.
"Maybe you shouldn't have ordered all those spicy food and gotten something else," Oliver said, and Kara bit her lip.
"It's been happening since back at the house. I was feeling this sharp pain, but I ignored it because he keeps on kicking me so much that it's been hurting," Kara said, rubbing her stomach.
"Let's leave and head back to the house and see if the midwife can check up and see what's up with you," Oliver suggested for them to leave and Kara agreed.
"Yeah, that seems like a good idea," Kara said before she got up and felt a splash go down between her legs.
"Did your water just break?" Oliver asked her and she nodded.
"I think that my water just broke," Kara said and Oliver hurried up to pay the bill.
The next thing you know, Kara felt another sharp pain and Oliver noticed her discomfort. Oliver was getting impatient on how long it takes for them to return with their card, so they can leave before Kara has the baby in a restaurant.
The waiter comes with Oliver's credit card, and he hurries up and helps Kara get to the car so they can get to the house and call the midwife that she went into labor.
He helps Kara get into the car and buckles her up, runs over to his side, and drives off back to their house. They would've chosen a hospital if Kara was human and wouldn't have the team questioned why Oliver was in the hospital. His team contacted time to time just to make sure he was okay and safe.
Oliver was speeding to get back to the house as Kara was gripping the glove department before she groaned in pain. He was thankful that she had her red sunlight bracelet, and to his surprise, she had to wear it for her baby to grow. Now, he wishes he could explain to their midwife about that situation involving telling her that his friend is an alien.
Back At Home
They arrived home, and Oliver raced over to her side, helped her out of the seatbelt,t, and carefully helped her out of the passenger side. He shut the car door and made sure to lock it, Kara gripped Oliver's forearm as Oliver held her close to him. He hurried up to unlock their front door and saw William sitting on the couch as Raisa was cleaning the dishes.
"Dad, you home awfully a little earlier than I anticipated," William said, and Oliver nodded his head.
"I need you to contact the midwife and tell them that Kara went into labor a few minutes ago," Oliver said and William immediately grabbed their home phone.
Oliver helped Kara get up the stairs to have her get situated in her bedroom. They agreed for Kara to give birth somewhere that was a little private and quiet for themselves. Kara went into her closet and grabbed the gown she was gonna wear for the midwife to help her deliver the baby.
"I'm gonna be fine, Ollie. How about you change into something a little more comfortable?" Kara asked as Oliver looked down at his outfit.
"Right, I'll hurry up and change. Just don't go anywhere and practice those breathing exercises that we did together," Oliver said before he rushed out to his bedroom.
Kara took a deep breath and walked to the bathroom to change out of her dinner outfit and into the gown that she prepared for. Oliver returned to her bedroom with some washcloths to help her during the delivery. The bathroom door opened and Kara walked out and sat on the bed.
"Is the midwife almost here?" Kara asked.
"Yeah, she said she was on her way here after William was yelling at her through the phone," Oliver said and Kara chuckled.
"He seems nervous just like you are," Kara said and Oliver sighed.
"I'm a little nervous because this is my first time being a part of your pregnancy, and now to the birth part," Oliver said, and Kara looked at him.
"You know that I can handle this delivery myself, and you don't have to stay right by my side," Kara said, and Oliver shook his head.
"No, you need someone right by your side, and I promised that I'll help you through anything with your pregnancy," Oliver said, and Kara smiled at him.
Oliver offered to help her with the pain she was having with the baby kicking her still. He rubbed her back as she was getting comfortable, and their midwife arrived at the right time before she felt another contraction.
"It's come to my attention that our baby boy wanted to meet you today," The midwife said and Kara chuckled.
"I was hoping that we could make it throughout the night, but I guess he wanted to meet us already," Kara said as Oliver massaged her shoulders helping her relax.
"Well, let's see how dilated you are," The midwife said, and Oliver helped her get settled into the bed.
The midwife checked to see how far dilated she was and Kara was halfway there before she felt another contraction hit her. Oliver wiped her forehead with a washcloth and helped her relax a bit.
"Thank you for being here with them. I know this is your first time being here to see a baby being delivered," Kara said, and Oliver took her hand.
"I'm glad to be here as much as it scares me to see you in this amount of pain. You'll get through this, and Tommy will be in your arms," Oliver said.
"Yeah, back at the restaurant before we were interrupted by my water breaking. I needed to tell you something that I've hidden for so long," Kara said and Oliver looked at her confused.
"I do too. I was gonna wait until everything blows over, but Tommy decided to make a surprise and wanted to come early," Oliver said and Kara chuckled.
"Yeah, he had impeccable timing," Kara said and Oliver smiled at her.
"I have a confession to make and you don't have to respond to it right now. When we first met each other I didn't trust you because you were someone new to the group until I saw you save me and handle that asshole that wanted to hurt our friend. Kara, I like you. I don't just like you I think I'm in love with you. When I heard about you and that you were on Thawne's side, I was upset because you didn't seem the type of person to choose the wrong side," Oliver said, and Kara looked at him with teary eyes. "Then, when I heard that there was a chance you didn't make it out, I felt guilty for not being there quick enough." He added on. "I just want you to know that I'm in love with you and I want to be by your side through everything." He finished.
"Ollie, I'm in love with you too. I have been since the help taking down the first criminal with our team," Kara said, as the midwife was still in the room with them. "When I devoted my life to my ex-husband, it was because he was just like you but filled with darkness, and I wanted to shine a little light on him. When he heard that I was betraying him and helped the Freedom Fighters he had this look in his eyes and agreed to Thawne to inject me with some drinks to turn me against them." She said. "Then, when I heard my sister was going to my best friend's wedding to the wedding I was supposed to go, I just felt this rage take over me and agreed to invade the West-Allen wedding to get revenge for what she and J'onn did to me." She added. "When I saw you there, standing by Barry's side I hesitated on helping Thawne and my ex-husband, but I knew if I disobeyed Thawne, he would've hurt my son and you guys. You and Barry are the most important person to me. Barry may be like a brother to me, but you, Ollie, are more than that." She finished.
"I'm so glad to hear that because I know this isn't how I planned for our first date to go, with the pain and Tommy coming here early. Do you wanna be my girlfriend?" Oliver asked Kara.
Before Kara could answer his question, she felt another sharp pain and screamed in pain. The midwife made her way over to check that she was fully dilated and it was time to push.
Kara looked over at Oliver and he held her hand in comfort that he was right with her and she could do this. She gripped him as she began to push until she told her to stop. Kara took another deep breath before pushing again as the midwife again told her to stop.
"You're gonna do one big push for me, Kara," The midwife told her and Kara nodded her head.
Oliver wiped the sweat from her forehead as Kara took another deep breath and gave her a big push and the nurse told her to stop again. Kara rested her head back in exhaustion and wanted to push again.
"I see his head. Give me another push, Kara," The midwife said.
Kara grabbed Oliver's hand as she gave another big push and they heard the sound of Tommy's cries. They laughed and saw Tommy letting out big cries; Kara laid back down, exhausted and tired, but happy that Tommy was finally here.
"He's here and is so beautiful," Oliver whispered looking at Tommy.
"He looks just like you. He's so handsome, like his father," Kara said, and Oliver smiled at her.
The midwife cleaned him off, wrapped him in a blanket, and handed him off into Kara's arms. Kara held him in her arms as she looked down at him in admiration, then she looked at Oliver and smiled at him.
"The answer is yes. I would love to be your girlfriend," Kara said, and Oliver smiled at her.
He sat right next to her and looked at Tommy in admiration as well as Kara looked up and stared at Oliver in his eyes. He leaned down and pressed his lips against hers as she kissed him back, before pulling away and looking down at Tommy.
They both looked up and saw that the midwife had come back in with William by her side. Kara called him over, and the midwife gave them some privacy.
"William, meet your baby brother. Tommy Robert Queen," Oliver said and Kara smiled at him.
"He's so small," William said and stroked Tommy's cheek.
"You two are gonna be best friends," Kara said as she laid Tommy in Williams's arms carefully.
"You're gonna be the best brother to Tommy," Oliver said and Kara nodded her head.
"I promise to protect and help you guys out with anything," William said and Kara smiled.
"We do need to give him a room to sleep in at least," Kara said and Oliver smacked himself on his forehead.
"I forgot to finish the nursery room. Tomorrow, we'll get his room done so he can sleep in his crib," Oliver said, and Kara looked at him.
"It's okay, Ollie. We have all the time in the world to finish his nursery room," Kara said and Oliver nodded his head.
They looked at William holding Tommy and smiled at their little family time. In the future, Oliver promises that Kara will also become a Queen; they just need to wait until Tommy is at least one and tell their friends the truth about Kara being alive.
Oliver and Kara were just happy that they revealed their feelings for each other and they felt the same way about each other. It was gonna take time and effort for their relationship to work, but they knew that they could make it work. Their whole lives, they've been through so much, and they could relate to the amount of pain and loss they dealt with. Oliver didn't have to worry about bad guys wanting to hurt Kara because she is indestructible.
They are just happy that Tommy is here and healthy; now they just have to worry for their friends on how they're gonna react to find out Kara has been alive this whole time and Oliver was the only one that knew about it. They just hope they'll understand and accept their relationship with each other.
- End of Chapter 8
