Prompt: (future modern!sonic) (Sonamy :D) Sonic and Amy share an apartment and are currently babysitting a friend's giant dog while he is away. The dog isn't trained and is quite crazy, running around and barking all the time and doesn't respond to commands. Amy wants to split the work with Sonic (take turns attempting to walk it, for example) but Sonic wants little to do with it. The dog's chaotic behavior and uneven workload on Amy causes her to snap (But all is good in the end~)

I'm afraid I don't really DO uncanon things kinda like 'they share an apartament in the future' type of ordeals… in my opinion, Sonic and Amy may just be 'starting' to date a little more officially in the distant future…

But if you want it, you got it!

I just don't know how this is going to turn out ^^;

(I WILL REPEAT, BECAUSE THIS IS THE FUTURE, AND THEY'RE CONSIDERABLY OLDER, THIS IS PROBABLY NOT 'as in character or canon' AS I USUALLY WRITE. PLEASE UNDERSTAND. I'M JUST WRITING WHAT THE PROMPT HAS GIVEN ME. THANK YOU. I'LL DO MY BEST.)

(Also, since I've never seen a regular 'dog' in Sonic, i was thinking of making it a little boy, but then I remembered the Flickies and decided it would be like one of them :) Just to make it understandable and realistic to their particular world. Also, if there living together, I'm gonna make it to where Sonic doesn't have an actual 'home', he just sleeps where he wants too. Whether it's crashing at Tails's place, outside on a tree, or ocassionally at Amy's place, if Tails is busy. Makes more sense to me that way XP Cause Sonic is not one to be 'domestic' at ALL lol! -still trying to make it canon in a sense x- )

- "Yellow!" Sonic opened the door with his foot, and walked in and dropped some groceries on the kitchen counter before walking in to see Amy looking flustered on the ground, leaning against the couch. "Woah! You look like a wreck!" He stated, and moved over to her, touching her cheek lightly. "What happened?"

"Tails is bringing a lab over." Amy looked a bit worried.

"…Well," Sonic turned to the door, "That's gonna be a little difficult to fit through your apartment door…" Sonic teased, being a smart-aleck as usual.

"What? No, no! Not a lab LAB, I mean a Labrador! A puppy he was suppose to watch for Knuckles who is helping the Flickies lately, giving them homes, but he doesn't want it around his actual lab with deadly chemicals, you know?" Amy explained, moving her arms out left and right to show which 'lab' she was referring too. (Labrador species of flicky? eh? eh? I don't know -_-; )

"…A dog?" Sonic raised an eyebrow. "And he just dropped it off with you?"

"Handed… he's coming over in about 5 minutes…" Amy shook in fright.

"..What's wrong? You look scared." Sonic raised an eyebrow, sitting down in front of her. "I thought you liked little cute things, you know, acting like their your 'baby' and all." he joked.

"I HAVE NOTHING TO ENTERTAIN A PUPPY!" she gestured to her apartment. "I barely have enough to keep you around!" she exclaimed.

Sonic sighed, "You have a T.V..?" he shrugged, but seemed unsure of himself.

Later that day, Tails came over and the flicky went out of control, messing things up as Amy kept trying to send Sonic to get toys or something for it to stop destroying her place! The two were HORRIBLE at getting it to stop crying.

"I think I understand now why Tails dumped this out on us…" Sonic was exhausted, the little thing was acting like a baby, and was making a mess as they tried to feed it, play with it, or do practically anything to keep it happy.

"…ARUGH! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!" Amy finally snapped, turning away and rushing to her room.

"HEY! Don't leave this with me!" Sonic looked to the flicky, who was banging a toy on Amy's wooden floor, making scratches, and then looked back to Amy. "Auuhhh! Amy!" he finally decided to leave the puppy for a moment and went up to Amy's door. "What's wrong? I'm right here, and if you need the help, you've got it." he then looked away and mumbled, "I've BEEN right here helping you…" he was kinda grouchy now too.

"I…I failed!" Amy whined out, seeming to be crying.

"Failed?"

"I'll never be good at this…"

"At what? Babysitting?" Sonic laughed.

"…being a mother.."

Sonic suddenly froze, stopping his laugh as he lowered his head from holding it back and laughing a moment ago with his hand on his head. "…Oh." he looked away, and checked on the flicky again, who eyes looked to be getting sleepy. "Well… um… you take a breather and I uh… well, i don't know anyone else who could of kept the little guy as happy,.. managed-ish…., and safe as you have Amy. I only lent a hand when you needed to catch him." Sonic called back to her, before picking the flicky up, and seeming to hum a lullaby to it.

Amy heard the singing and opened the door, peeking out and stepping in the living room, seeing Sonic rocking the rambunctious puppy to sleep.

The humming turned to a song and she smiled at Sonic's whipering lyrics. "You're a good singer." she smiled, and wiped her eyes.

"Huh? Oh well.. thanks. You're a good-" she stopped him in the middle.

"I left you on your own with a baby, how is that a good idea?" she teased, taking the sleeping puppy out of his hands.

"Hmph… I think I did pretty well on my own." he got slightly offended by her words, and folded his arms and looked away.

"Hehe, I know. I'm slightly jealous. I'm sorry." she held the little guy and lightly kissed him on his head before putting him down after making a bed for him on the couch. She sighed, "You'd make a good dad someday.."

Sonic flinched, not liking to hear that.

"Haha! Well, you would!"

He moaned and continued to look away, grumbling this and that about not being much of a 'family' man.

"Haha!"

"You have good instincts for kids though." he stated, and turned back to Amy, smiling to her and getting the subject off of himself. "You'll make a good mother."

"And wife?" she leaned closer to him as he moved back, skittish of her advance.

"…Possibly. I'll have to ask your husband." he looked away, before smirking back at her with a slightly glare. "Whoever that may be~"

"…hmph." she moved away, upset by his rejection, and lifted her nose up. "Well, he'd be a lucky man."

"Undoubtably."

He grinned again, as if knowing something she didn't know, and looked back to the puppy.

"…Where'd he go?" he said that with as much fright and panic as it sounded like, and his eyes shrunk in their sockets.

"…Oh crap." Amy got up and they started running around again.

"PUPPY!" they both called out.
