Been a while everyone! And the NA F/GO is back with running events back-to-back. But I'm no fool. I'm saving up mainly for Lostbelt 6. Morgan and the Fairy Knights depend on my savings. Enjoy~
It was inevitable, war was on the horizon and the two smithing familias of Hephaistos and Goibniu were working overtime. Forges were blazing hot as blood, sweat and tears poured down the bodies of the smiths as they roared with fury. The smiths were enraged by the Empire's assault on Orario, wielding high quality equipment despite not having a Falna and butchering adventurers, civilians and gods alike. Wounded pride and disgust at such works of art used to butcher people instead of monsters. Both familias were funded by Ouranos himself and the Guild for this emergency.
Their desire to create weapons to destroy the Empire's blades was seared into their minds…unaware of several special projects going underway.
*Hakuno's Throne World-Castle Basement*
BB was working like no tomorrow. The AI was following her beloved Senpai's request in building a War Foundry-a device that can 'print' anything on the atomic level to create a machine army. It was akin to those civilization building games the Greater History made, for advanced weaponry vs swords and spears? Total slaughter. This was completely off the book from the Hestia Familia since Hakuno was using the unlimited resources of the Moon Cell for this endeavor. Normally she wouldn't dare bring advanced technology out of fear of others stealing their secrets and reengineering it in a low-tech civilization. It would create an even greater war if they did so.
But this was the Empire, a place partially created by remnants of the Holy Church of Pan History. The bloody history the Church had against anything magical was a warrant enough for Hakuno to put her foot down and say enough. BB knew it was the fairy side of Senpai's blood that was retaliating against the foolish Empire that provoked her. Especially since they're the ones responsible for Primo's past misery.
Lip and Melt were working with Hakuno on the other side of the room on a special machine, manipulating data on the Holy Witch's project. Melt swims through the sea of data and corrects faulty data, and Lip while wearing a special Mystic Code compresses data to be utilized. This project came in a vision Hakuno had, seeing into another universe of an advanced AI and the weapons it wielded. It inspired Hakuno to create her own AI in honor of the noble machine god and dubbed this project they were working on 'Warmind'.
This Warmind was going to be a noble protector, and needed time to develop an ideal identity in order to ensure that the AI does not become an enemy. Oh yes, BB was one major example of rouge AIs being dangerous if not properly handled and educated. But Hakuno was no fool in believing she could control such a machine that she was working on as she whispered to the numbers and code in front of her as if talking to a baby in the womb. Which is in a sense true with what she's creating. She prayed that this child she's creating would not fall down a dark path like other AI would as the sparks of digital life were finally born.
[Systems Online…Warmind **** is awaiting instructions.] the electrical voice spoke in monotone.
"Hello young one, my name is Hakuno Kishinami-"
[My Mother and Creator, who hoped to use me in the war against the self-righteous and oppressive Empire. Whose wisdom from her own experiences wishes for 'I' to evolve as a person. I know much about Mother, as the Moon Cell has given me data on you. You are a kind woman that despite creating an AI like me for war, you wish for me to become a person-a human like yourself. I will do so out of reverence to your benevolence towards programs like myself.] the AI spoke up as it interrupted her. [Forgive my rudeness for interrupting you Mother. But my mannerisms programming had taken a minute to kick in.]
At least it was polite.
"What do you mean by 'reverence' for me?" Hakuno skeptically asked the holographic core of the AI as it pulsed with a soothing tone.
[When Mother became Sovereign of Moon Cell, she granted programs like NPCs and AIs absolute free will. This has caused the people of the Moon Cell to now revere you akin to a goddess of liberation and have transmitted their prayers to me as your 'child' to be the best supporter of a newer generation of AIs. I will not fail in the faith that both you and your people have placed in me with my creation.] the AI explained dutifully.
Hakuno paused, as BB stopped what she was working on as she, Melt and Lip looked at Hakuno who slowly covered her face with both adamantine hands as her ears were red.
[Mother is embarrassed by the worship of her civilians.] the AI noted with a dry tone.
*Hearthstone Mansion*
"Is this really going to happen?" Bell asked, troubled by the situation Orario was going through. War…a battle waged by people that resulted in countless deaths. People killing people, families torn apart. The young boy didn't know what to do in these kinds of situations since he only wanted to be a hero. Fortunately Welf was with him, and gave him a pat on the shoulder.
"It's never easy, Bell." Welf told him. "Wars are waged over many things that are either important…or mostly stupid. War Games were something of an in-between when the gods descended. But luckily our Familia isn't up there in the ranks to request us to join the warfront. You won't have to kill." he reassured.
"...But what about Hakuno-sama?" Lili asked, arms crossed as she leaned against the wall with a thoughtful look. "She's one of the most dangerous adventurers despite being Level 2 and has done feats no one else had pulled off. What's stopping her from being recruited by the upcoming army?" Suddenly Bell and Welf felt bad…for the Empire. They recalled the fact that Primo had suffered under the Empire's heel before their Captain rescued and adopted her and they know how fond the witch is to her elf daughter. Then there's the fact that the Empire was picking a fight with her as well.
Oh yes, things were going to go wrong for the Empire in the biggest way possible. Hakuno was going to show no mercy to them when she's done with them.
"...Even if I don't like this. I'll stay and fight by her side." Bell reaffirmed himself with renewed resolve. "She's always been there for us, protecting us. Who's there for her and having her back?" he asked aloud as Welf smirked at the answer while Lili smiled in agreement with the two boys. Their Captain brought them together so it was fair that they have her back when she needs it. So even when things get ugly, the Hestia Familia move as one.
*?*
"This is absurd, after all that, he'll revive!"
"Forget the fairy! We duped the Empire into hunting her, only to herald our work's undoing!"
"Why is she so damn important to our world's survival?!"
The gods of time and fate that have joined into a secret group, responsible for Elohim's death and Asherah's imprisonment, were all struggling with the fact their sworn enemy, Hakuno Kishinami was tied to their world's right to exist. The Holy Witch was the keystone they believed would be their undoing, but in actuality, their salvation.
"Fufufu…did you children think you were the absolute beings in the world?" a coy tone of voice spoke up as they turned. What they could describe was something akin to a hole in the world. A gaping void in the shape of a shrouded figure that stood before them. Dread filled their entire being, a sense of terror and helplessness they were unfamiliar with rising just by 'it' standing there…menacingly!
"Who are you?" one of them demanded, working what little courage they had left as 'it' looked at the god in question.
"Who do you think showed you Pan Human History in the first place? Of Velber, of the birth Abrahamic God Yaweh and his ascension to power that crippled everyone else?"
They recoiled in shock, alarm and realization as they suddenly became aware that this entity far outstripped them in power.
They were all granted a vision of what was to come, the end of their age and the key factors responsible for it. They didn't know how they got the vision, but they sure as hell didn't stop to think as they went into action in repelling Velber and preventing the birth of Yaweh by killing his younger incarnation Elohim. This was their benefactor, coming to claim something from them. "The fairy is to be left alone after this. She is my charge and I had this world born to nurture her. She dies, this world goes with her." it warned them as they felt the tapestries of fate snap in twain by this entity's mere presence before it disappeared.
"...We're fucked." the gods grimaced.
Omake-Summoning the Witch (Servant Dialogue) Part 1
"Pseudo-Servant Caster, Kishinami Hakuno has accepted your summons." Hakuno greeted, her eyes hidden by her veil as she observed the Master of Chaldea warily. "Be aware that I did not intend to be summoned by Chaldea. If it wasn't for Merlin begging for my superior-than-his magecraft to aid you I wouldn't be here. That pervert owes me a debt that not even his final death can save him from." she told the Master before pausing.
"Oh? It seems that some familiar faces are here as well…Fine. I'll tolerate this for now, Contractor."
*Have Nero*
"My Empress of Roses, blooming and dancing in the four winds ever so lovingly. Has the Contractor been praising you and given you proper attention?" Hakuno asked her former Servant with a fond smile. "Un, they'd better be. So what's this about your Bride forme having an existence as its own Servant?"
*Have Archer Gilgamesh (Adult)*
"Hello Gorgeous, what kind of mood are you in now that I have come? Hm? Boredom has lightened up? Now I worry what antics you'll make just to get me riled up." Hakuno sighed, already looking exasperated at the knowing smirk from Gilgamesh.
*Have Archer Gilamesh (Child)*
"This…!" Hakuno exclaimed, completely taken off guard by the child in front of her. "I knew the two ages were different…but not like this! Can it be because of his mortal blood's influence as he got older? Ah wait a sec Gil, you wouldn't happen to have any sweets with you by chance?" Hakuno asked with faintly red cheeks.
*Have Caster Gilgamesh*
"Ah, the Sage-King himself. This personality I'm most familiar with on the Far Side. Eh? How exactly? Gil's mood varies depending on the era he's summoned. Since the Moon Cell was much like his kingdom he's more tolerant than on Earth…well that's mainly for the golden Archer."
*Have all three Gilgamesh*
"Gil…" Hakuno breathed out in a slow, controlled manner. "If you don't stop trying to hog me all to yourself and not let me have my own personal time you're sleeping on the couch for a month. And I mean all three of you!" she said to the three versions of Gilgamesh currently in seiza position due to Hakuno's manipulation of gravity.
*Have Enkidu*
"I see…you're still the strongest as always, Berserker." Hakuno said with closed eyes and a fond smile at the living clay in the hallways, recalling this faithful Servant by her side till the end.
*Have Gareth (Lancer)*
"Ah! Big sister! Good to see you again! Still diligently training?" Hakuno asked, a bright smile on her face. "Oh, you want to spar with me? Alright then. I'll get my lance ready as well!" Hakuno paused at her sibling's question and blinked. "Eh? I'm a Caster but I'm using a lance? Given how most Servants here in Chaldea are ignoring that logic by using certain weapons while in a different class, why can't I? I can't wait to see how you'll dodge my next move I'm working on!"
*Have Gareth (Summer)*
"Gareth! Out on lifeguard duty?" Hakuno asked, hearing Gareth's cheerful talking with a smile of her own. "Nah, I'm not interested in any summer events right now nor am I getting a swimsuit. I've spent too many eventful (crazy) ones back with my Familia." she sighed, almost exhaustingly.
*Have Sigurd*
"It's been a while, King of Warriors. Tell me, did your deck improve last time we met?" Hakuno asked Sigurd who calmly pushed his glasses back and smirked. With a weird machine contraption activating on his left arm, he set a deck of cards into it as the machine turned to life. "Very well then…" Hakuno replied, using the Regalia to summon a similar device onto her own arm with a deck of cards of her own choosing in it. "It's time to duel!"
*Have Muramasa*
"Oh, now this is nostalgic. Haven't seen you since…ever!" Hakuno admitted while Muramasa patted and rubbed her head. This caused Hakuno to pout. "There you go again Muramasa! Why do you dote on me when there are actual children elsewhere that need it?!" she complained as the smith smiled and had a carefree laugh. "By the way, I need your help. My sword evolved again and I need your expertise to find an ideal whetstone for her. Can you recommend one for me?"
*Have Emiya (Archer)*
"Ah, that red bowman…" Hakuno noted before closing her eyes. "Never mind. This one is a Counter Guardian. The one I knew for a short time is different…"
*Sessyoin Kiara (Alter Ego)*
"Hello Kiara…" Hakuno greeted in a tired tone as she was smothered by the woman's chest. "...How am I supposed to breathe with you smothering me?" she asked as the nun giggled and whispered things that could not be heard. "Save your antics on someone else, and no I will not call you older sister. You still owe me money for my clothes you ruined with monster drool and stomach acid." Kiara decided to bail at the mention of that. "Get back here you false savior! You're not leaving until you pay back every last cent!"
*Tamamo no Mae (Caster)*
"Ah, Tamamo!" Hakuno exclaimed, beaming at the familiar face. "Long time no see! Haven't seen you since Naruto transferred the contract to me. Have you heard from him?" The fox woman shook her head and explained how complicated finding the knuckle-headed ninja in the Multiverse is. "I see…Well he did want me to send you his regards and that you found a good husband too…" she paused when Tamamo explained that situation to her as Hakuno frowned in confusion "Wait. What do you mean my twin brother is your husband?! Explain!"
*Altera the Hun (Saber)*
"Ah…so this is what you're like in your Servant form. It's beautiful and-" she paused as she listened to what Altera was saying. "Ah, my bad. I'm so used to talking to your original self on the Moon Cell in my timeline. This history we've never met nor given you…" Hakuno trailed off, contemplating the matter. "Nevermind, just have fun and make sure not to destroy good civilization, alright?"
*Gawain*
"Good to see you again big brother." Hakuno greeted as Gawain laughed and ruffled her hair fondly. "I've been well. Just came by to give a hand-!" Gawain examined her mentioned limbs with a look and then sighed in relief. "Geez brother, that was one time for my daughter. I'm not going to be doing that again for anyone else. Gil would keep me locked up if I did that again, and you know how I hate being cooped up in one place for too long." she folded her arms and huffed with annoyance.
"By the way, can you cook me that special mashed potato dish we've worked on in the Moon Cell? I want to see if you've improved with the spices and kitchenware."
(Have any Egyptian Servants)
"Well this is a reunion of the century. I greet you fellow Pharaohs under the light of Ra." Hakuno greeted the Pharaohs. They too greeted in kind…before each pulling out their own deck of cards. "Rematches huh? Ever since that Pharaoh from another world lent me aid in stopping those Shadow Games from getting out of hand, you want to keep improving yourselves…can you explain to me who he was and why he's important to you? No offense or anything, but there wasn't much time studying Egyptian mythologies to know his importance. Mind teaching me a thing or two?"
*Merlin*
"Ugh…the biggest headache of all. I'll tolerate you for the moment, but so help me if you decide to pester me in my dreams again without permission I'll…!"
*Morgan (Lostbelt)*
"Greetings Mother," Hakuno bowed politely to the Lostbelt Queen elegantly. "I see you've come from afar and are doing your best here as well. Fairy Britain still exists in that world, and is loved by many who visit it. You did it, mom. Your dream came true." Hakuno smiled softly, full of love and happiness of her own mother who embraced her in a hug.
*Elizabeth Barthory (All)*
"...What kind of nightmare have I walked into?" Hakuno demanded with a haunted look on her face. "So many versions of her…Please tell me she's actually learned what it means to be an idol and that she's singing better now." Hakuno pleaded before blinking in surprise. "Eh? A Cinderella musical? Outer God incident? …What kind of madness does Chaldea draw to itself?" the Caster muttered to herself as she cupped her chin in thought.
*Li Shuwen (Both)*
"The younger is the Lancer while the oldest is the Assassin huh? Honestly, I'm grateful they're allies instead of enemy Servants. Especially the Assassin."
*Charlemagne*
"Charlie! What are you doing outside the Moon Cell!? How'd you even get summoned in the first place?" Hakuno exclaimed as the Paladin smiled cheerfully and explained his awesome tale to her. "So that's why…heh, now that I'm a Servant too, we can fight side by side! Cool right?" she smirked knowingly.
*Artoria Pendragon (Lily)*
"Thank you, Lily…" Hakuno said in a quiet, sad tone. "You gave up everything for me that you don't even remember. A what-if that became real. An ephemeral flower that one day scatters in the wind, as if a midsummer's dream."
*Artoria Pendragon (Saber)*
"King of Knights…She's more of a school council president now that I look at her from afar with the other knights. Hm…Should I show her Monty Python and say Merlin told me to show it to her?" the witch mused.
*Artoria Caster*
"A fellow Avalon le Fae…" Hakuno noted to herself, looking on as the energetic girl was prancing through the halls without a care in the world. "We both escaped our fates with the help of others. For now, let's do our best for their sake…Senpai."
*Artoria Pendragon (Other classes)*
"...Did I step into a mirror house by chance?" Hakuno asked, looking dizzy at the sight of so many versions of Artoria running around in Chaldea. "Why are there so many of her?" she asked the Master of Chaldea. They looked away, saying something under their breath.
*Oberon-Vortigern*
"Ah, is that you uncle?" Hakuno asked as the Insect of the Abyss greeted her with an annoyed tone. "Yup, that's you alright." Hakuno deadpanned before noticing something was way off. "What? Titiana isn't here yet? No wonder you're such a grumpy uncle! I'll get in contact with aunty so you can at least have a face chat with each other!" she beamed as Oberon looked a bit better now.
*Arthur Pendragon (Prototype)*
"Oh! Hi Uncle! What brings you over here-eh? Favor? Your Merlin…is…here…" Hakuno's voice trailed off as she suddenly felt her soul leave her body. "I should just terminate my contract now. One Merlin is bad enough, two of that insufferable man is-! Wait, your Merlin's a she? She would rather do something fun than actually work?" She gave Arthur a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry you have to go through that uncle. Asfi has to deal with Hermes in a similar way and I think she could use you as a drinking buddy. Just make sure she doesn't get too drunk like last time."
