Not sure if you did this before or not, but maybe something with Dark Sonic being triggered when Amy is in serious danger? (Again sorry if you've done this before. ^^;;)

I have, but I have this undying love for Dark Sonic? That I don't even care xD I may get told an idea I've done before, but I'll write a whole new concept for it to keep it fresh and interesting. When I have written something, I usual mention it so that you guys know you can look through my prompts and find different versions of it.
Dark Sonic is very possible in Sonic, mostly because of the Chaos Emeralds. I like to play and fiddle with the idea of Negative Chaos Energy that's triggered within ones heart, and pollutes the power of Chaos. It's been done before and shown in Sonic x, the very famous scene. I would like to headcanon that Sonic can be soothed or was suppose to have a closer relationship with Amy next season (if they ever would have made one) where Amy would be the only one to calm him down enough before he really started to create some mayhem and destruction in his rage.
I've written a VERY OLD fanfiction of Dark Sonic before, and quite a few prompts from years gone by on this site you can find through Sonamy Headcanons, Sonic Prompts, or Sonamy Prompts. I don't just do Sonamy, I also have done mini-stories for the characters as well, it's not all just romance with me, haha! but it is the most popular option that most Asks do take :3 Which, let's face it, I'm totally fine with xD haha!

Prompt:
With his friends knocked down by the powerful energy blast of manipulated Chaos, whose been awakened once more but compressed into a giant clear capsule machine that Eggman has used to force Chaos in his ultimate form to send out a shock wave of sorts and knock back his enemies; Sonic just finishes with talking to a weakened Tails, before hearing another one of his friends cry out in the distance.
"Th…That sounded like…" Tails, his face firmly to the ground, trembled in his struggle to turn his face and look towards the sound.
"Amy!" Sonic got up, and raced towards the noise, as Tails let his head drop again, almost falling unconscious.
Racing passed almost leveled cities, Sonic finds Amy under some fallen debris, and starts hurrying to free her.
Another rush of wind pauses him a moment, as he looks across and slightly behind him.
"Shadow?"
"I heard the cry as well." Shadow takes only a moment to address him, before flinging more debris off, as Sonic nods, thankful for the assistance, and the two finally find her and drag her out.
Sonic holds her upper body as she starts to twitch her eyes open. Shadow stays a little aways from them, giving them some space, as he folds his arms and closes his eyes, listening…
"Amy? You alright?"
"Emmm.. S-Sonic… Ah! Sonic! I knew you'd save me…" She widens her eyes at Sonic's appearance, before her face soothes out into it's weakened state again. "That blast… it was so strong… is everyone in the city..?"
"Everyone was evacuated moments before… why are you..?"
"I was looking… for… for you, Sonic." Her voice grew quieter, and her eyes started to droop down with every breath.
"Amy..?"
"You… you gotta stop Eggman… Sonic… Everyone is counting on you… I know you'll save them… save Chaos… just like you saved… me.." her arm slips from holding a page part of his chest, as her head falls forward and her eyes close.
Sonic trembles, his face held down, and his eyes covered in darkness.
Shadow opens his eyes, seeing the power emulating from him.
"You've hurt my friends…" The power continues to grow, and his fur turns slightly darker than usual.
Shadow's eyes widen, 'It can't be…'.
Sonic slowly rises onto his feet.
"You've destroyed our homes… our cities…" his hands tighten around her limp body.
Shadow continues to stare, moving his arms out from being folded, witnessing this transformation.
"But… even with all this suffering…" The power begins to make ripple effects around him, and the wind picks up into a spiraling tornado around him.
"I will still stand!"
A blast of negative chaos energy repels any loose debris away, as lampposts in the city bend back, and trees are almost uprooted, being bent as far as they're trunks can go without snapping off.
Shadow holds his own, before having his body scooted back, his feet skidding unwillingly against the ground, and his arms in a cross out in front of him.
He's lowered to the ground so much so, that he puts a hand out to catch him from fully being leveled to the ground.
'This… power… it has to be!'
Shadow squints through the wind, seeing Sonic's head raised high, his eyes a pure white, and dark energy spiraling around him, and pulsing off his body.
'Dark Chaos!'
Still having Amy in his arms, Sonic lowers his head, bending his knees, as he powers up himself and blasts into the air, moving at light speeds as his eyes stop glowing, and shimmer down to show his dark blue eyes, racing towards Eggman's place.
"His power levels are incalculable! And his heart-rate is passed the sound barrier! The computer can't even properly show his readings with how fast he's going!" Decoe staggers back, cringing at the monitors and the sparking control panels.
"At this rate, he'll be here before his sonic boom even reaches our computer's scanners!" Bocoe put his hands up to his face, clearly terrified at the sheer amount of fast force that was barely being able to be predicted.
The two reached out and held each other. "We're scrap metal!" they cried out.
Eggman held a tight face, but the sweat that trinkled down his face, showed that the composure he held was only a false mask.
-skippity skip skip! :D-
"Sonic!" Amy cried out, having gotten up from her unconscious state and seeing him having ripped to pieces Eggman's fortress, freed Chaos, and as Tails described it, kneeling on all fours next to her, also absorbed Chaos into his being.
"At this rate, Sonic will overpower himself! He'll be unstoppable! Unable to control his emotions! Chaos will take over and who knows what it can do in Sonic's body!" Tails cried out through the rushing wind from the powerful waves of energy coming from Sonic's body.
Sonic was standing before Super Shadow, who clearly wasn't able to get through to his mind, as he was already pretty far gone in Chaos.
"You're going to destroy yourself and this world!" Shadow cried out, "Remember! What do you really fight for!?"
Dark Sonic burst forward, slamming and driving Super Shadow down with powerful energy forces that propelled his body forward and empowered each punch with dark energy.
"Sonic!" Amy cried out, tears in her eyes, seeing how horribly cruel his attacks were now.
"He's… he's animalistic…" Tails's eyes widened and shook with horror, not knowing how help his friend, and not believing what he was seeing. "Sonic… you've gotta snap out of it… you did it… you saved the world… now come back to us… Sonic…" Tails slowly, and shakily, lowered his head, crying out his sorrow for his friend and how utterly helpless they all were in trying to stop him and calm him down.
Amy then bolted from her spot, dashing forward.
"Amy! NOOO!" Tails reached out a hand, seeing her dart off. "He'll kill you! Amy!"
Racing with determination and a heart full of love, she stopped below their air-battle, each energy colliding with the other at such top speeds, breaking the earth below them with their combined forces clashing into each other.
Amy spread out her arms, "Stop it!" She cried out, tears streaming down her face. "Both of you…" The camera spun around her, until landing at her face that burst out in a loud cry-
"STOOOOPPP!"
The cry triggered something in Sonic, and an effect of fading echos of himself pulsed until he held his fists from punching Shadow back.
Shadow unspun, seeing the hesitation, and Sonic's white eye-sockets widen slightly.
"You're a hero!" Amy sobbed out, "You're not a monster! You're not one to loose your will to power and rage! Sonic! I know you're in there! Find yourself again! Remember who you are! You're.. You're our friend!"
Her voice seemed to pierce through Sonic's delusion, and Chaos squirmed inside of him, fighting with his will, his very core… his heart.
"Amy…" Within Sonic, Sonic's figurative soul took on his body's appearance, and he woke up, looking around. "Amy? Amy?!" frantically, he turned around in the air, not able to move downwards, and searched for her, or wherever her voice was coming from.
"Do you not seek the ultimate power?"
Sonic looked around again, this time, not so frantically. "W-..What? Whose there?! Answer me!" he looked over his shoulder, calling back.
"Do you seek the power of destruction, of confusion, of total oblivion?"
"Oblivion?" Sonic blinked his eyes, looking forward.
He narrowed his eyes, tightening his fists. "I don't seek anything more than my friends! Where are they!?"
"…By turning me down, you have reclaimed your freedom, your world, and have retrieved that which was lost… your very soul."
"My soul?" Sonic suddenly saw a light below him.
"Enter, Hedgehog. And save your friends… from the destruction you've created…"
As the camera panned from Sonic's face, away from his floating body, and over behind his back to show the dome of light, Sonic made a resolve and showed it apparent on his face as the camera cut to it.
"Soniiiiic!" Amy's voice echoed through the light dome, as it shook and waved a brighter reflection from her voice.
"Amy!" Sonic called back, and spun up into a ball, spinning into the light, as the whole screen turned white.
-skippity skip skipping some more~-
With Sonic back, the Master Emerald utilized the remaining Chaos Energy to purify and replenish the world, bringing it back to it's former glory, as the cities were repaired, and the landscapes paved back to their former paradises.
Sonic was encircled by his friends, after having let all his power flow out of him to do the job that the Master Emerald needed.
Shadow nodded, seeing them holding his weakened body, and powered down, walking away and over and down a hill, disappearing.
"Are… emm… are you all,..ugh… alright?" Sonic looked up, his vision blurry, as his friends all laughed, corralled around him, holding him up.
He smiled, seeing their smiles, before Amy wrapped her arms around his neck, putting her cheek up to his. "Oh, Sonic! I'm so happy you're ba-a-ack! Ohh!" she cried out, but it was a happy cry, but Sonic just smiled and laughed nervously, a shy and awkward sweat-drop on the side of his face, his eyes closed as his friends slightly mocked the humorous scene.
