Prompt:
Big sat like a statue with Froggy upon his head, both with their eyes closed, settled upon a pleasant bond.
An interdimensional portal began to swirl above their heads, as they didn't flinch, and Blaze came falling down.
The first thing Blaze saw as she swooped down was water, and immediately her hair stood on end, and she flailed as she crashed into it.
Being a cat, she hated the water, and quickly swam to shore, huffing and puffing before shaking her self clean, and then looking over at the large purple cat.
"….Hello." She seemed stiff and stationary, raising a hand up to greet him.
The only noise was the gentle water returning to it's pleasant flow and stirring.
The wind gently caressed Big's fur as his massive being stood valiant and tall,… although pudgy.
She stared a moment, blinking in confusion at no response.
"I.. I'm looking for the Hero Sonic." she put her hand down, slightly bending her ears at this strange fellow.
Big suddenly blinked his eyes wide open, and then slowly turned to her, still remaining silent and relaxed.
The water continued it's course, the only sound besides the wind….
Then, Froggy croaked and jumped into the pond, making Big look down, his hair spiking up, as he whirled his fishing pole back and cast in a line, before then returning to his tranquil peace.
"…Um… Please, sir?" She crocked an eyebrow up. "Can you at least tell me where I am?"
The portal was gone and Big sneezed, wiping his noise before he looked shocked, then stood up.
"Ah! You fell down!" he exclaimed.
Blaze fell over, twitching a leg.
"Y..you just noticed that?" Blaze got back up, looking hopeless at this situation presented, and hunched over slightly.
She regained herself and straightened her back, holding a tough girl pose. "I'll ask once again. Please, where can I find Sonic?"
"Oh? Sonic? He's a good guy." Big looked up, putting a pointer finger to his chin. "But only bad guys or Amy looks for Sonic…" he turned and blinked towards Blaze.
"I… I'm not Amy or a bad guy." she admitted, seeing him staring at her, as if unable to process that too. She leaned back a bit, feeling the awkwardness now.
"Hmmmmm…." Big looked forward, closing his eyes, and sitting back down. "Hup…." he held his fishing pole.
Now Blaze was twitching in impatience, and she walked closer to Big. "Do you know where Sonic is or not, sir!?"
"…He's.." he pointed his hand up, and Blaze watched it carefully. "Hmmm… I don't know." Big formed his hand into a high shrug and then tilted his head, hunching his shoulders for a moment.
Blaze fell over again.
"T…Thanks for your help…" she lightly stated, and began to walk off, looking at her surroundings, "I'm sure there's another who I can help me know where I am." she blinked a saw a sign, stating where she was, and she nodded.
"Good. At least I got that much." she put a hand to her hip, and nodded. She turned to the purple cat, "What's your name, anyway? If you really do know Sonic, it might be useful to bring you up." 'though I'm not sure how…' Blaze admitted to herself in her thoughts, slightly sweat dropping.
"Hmm?" Big turned around, and smiled warmly, "I'm Big. Big the Cat."
Her whole being suddenly froze in white shock.
"And that's my bestest buddy. Froggy." Suddenly, from the water, the fishing pole's line was caught and Froggy's body leaped out of the water, showing himself a moment before falling back into the water, and Big returning to trying to reel him in.
When he succeeded, he picked Froggy up and started walking to Blaze with him in his hand, and passed her.
"Y-..You're Big…" she had an ancestral story of a hero named Big who would help alongside adventurers to save the world…
'This couldn't possibly be..?'
Big stopped then a moment, before turning around and seeming very gentle to her now, "Please be safe while looking for Sonic. He can be such a hassle to find." he nodded as she returned the kind gesture, and he once again looked to Froggy, "Shall we go home and eat, Froggy?" The frog croaked happily in response, and the big lug began to slowly make his way down the path.
Blaze felt confused, but sighed out the tension and continued upon her opposite route. 'The past is so… strange.' she admitted to herself, and looked up. 'Could this mean that Silver's ancestors were also alive at this time? And who could they be..?' she looked down and folded her arms, having one hand up near her chin, pondering that…
