The saddest thing is…. Sonic wouldn't confess like you think he would/should. :(

Even in Sonic adventure 2 he only looked to her and said, "And Amy….Take care of yourself…" In japanese, there was a HUGE SIGNIFICANT pause that showed he was carefully contemplating his words.

So in a way… even at the end, (though he thought he had one more escape plan at that moment in SA2) he really wouldn't say it the way fans of sonamy would of liked it.

He wouldn't get emotional. Or at least show it, anyway.

And why tell her when their about to go anyway? Wouldn't that make the whole thing a little worse? He may think it's best that some things 'are left unsaid' if you catch my drift.

So this is hard… any time I get a prompt with 'Please have them confess their feelings!' it's very hard for me to keep them in character. So… we'll see how this works XP

In the Eggsinerator, Sonic and Amy were forced to remain pretty close to each other, due to the fact that the machine was only designed to incinerate one person at a time.

But she couldn't leave him! Even when he told her to get out of here, she just couldn't! She had rushed into his arms and the trap had fallen on both of them now…

"Oh no!" Amy called out, seeing the timer on the wall start clicking down.

They only had some time left…

"Amy! What-..Why didn't you run!? Was I that unclean in all the chaos!?" Sonic wasn't mad at her, but he was sweating from the stress of their current situation. This looked bad… badder than bad!

They could really die here…

"I… I couldn't… Sonic… Sonic is this really it?" she looked up to him, honestly asking him.

Her tender and sincere question made Sonic completely lose his slight panic and suddenly feel a fierce heartbreak inside himself. He stopped looking around for an escape route for a moment to address her, realizing calming her down and taking her worries away was more important to keeping his mind focused.

He had a moment to spare, and she needed comfort.

He quickly looked down before turning to her, "We'll be alright." he lied, he had no idea. "Hey, I mean. We make a great team! We've been out of tighter messes before." he looked around, but his confidence that was in his voice was waning… and Amy could tell.

"…Have we?" Amy asked, holding her hands up to her chest and looking down, praying…

Sonic was looking away again, examining the room before quickly turning his attention back to her, and grabbed the side of her arms. "H-hey, there's no need to cry… I'm …" he suddenly got more kinder, and paused in his words, as if thinking carefully about them.

"…I'm here. And I promise, nothings going to happen to you. I always keep my word, right?"

Amy looked up from her tears, and smiled, giggling even as he placed his head gently against the top of hers. "You… even now.. you won't say it, will you?"

He looked confused, moving his head away and blinking quickly. Not sure exactly what she was getting at.

"But that's okay." she quickly continued, and walked into his arms, making him stumble a bit because he wasn't expecting her to come to him like that. She put her head to the side and wrapped her arms around him, "Because in a way… you kinda already did." she grinned, happy, even at the last moment.

Sonic looked down, and then back at the timer, which was showing 5… 4…

He looked down at Amy, and in a moment of completely letting go, he closed his eyes and held her back.

3….2….

The camera races from Amy's calm and gently smiling face, to Sonic's squinting at the coming death, before-

BANG, CRASH, SMASH!

"GRRUFFHHH! Sonic!? Sonic, you in here!?" Knuckles had crashed through the wall, and the whole system was disconnected and the wires ripped, resulting in everything shutting down.

Amy and Sonic stepped apart for a moment, but hands still close to the others sides, as they watched as the laser above them powered down and the lights flickered off.

They then looked to each other, as Amy giggled cutely and jumped for joy, and Sonic smiled before she leaped forward and surprised him with a kiss.

Knuckle's mouth dropped, "Did… I come at a bad time..?"

Amy's eyes widened as she realized what she had just done. She pulled away and placed her hands quickly up to her mouth, "I-I..I-I-I mean I didn't mean to- well I did, but-but what i mean is-! It was the whole rush of the moment and spur of adrenaline! wait, that's not right, let me try that again-"

Before she could go on Sonic stopped her, seeming flustered as he didn't like having company watching in…

"Eh-heh-hmm." he made a quick shake of his head, as if trying to refocus for a moment and process what had just happened. "D-don't worry about it, we-we'll talk about this later. Right now, we need to stop Eggman."

"We will!" Amy leaned forward, excited to hear that they'll be talking soon, maybe even count it as a date!

"Eh… Knuckles! Take Amy out of here and get somewhere safe, I'll get Eggman!"

(I had a HUGE more detailed one but EVERYTHING WAS DELETED T-T SO SORRY! hope this sufficed! -cries and mourns over original copy- It was so BEAUTIFUL)
