Together Breakfast

In the morning, as the sun rose in the far distance, Inside the Beach House, Steven was sitting on his knees on the couch that was under the window and opened the window to gaze out at the sunrise as all was quiet in the morning.

"Everyone's out." Steven said to himself. "Guess I'm makin' us breakfast."

Things then sequence into Steven rummaging through the kitchen to find foods that could be used for breakfast. He then stands in front of the counter and places a box of Waffles, a bottle of Syrup, and, strangely enough, a small box of Popcorn. Steven then makes breakfast, starting with a stack of Waffles with lots of Syrup on them.

Steven then goes up to the Temple Gate.

The Temple Gate allows any Gem to travel to their room by activating their Gemstone. Each resident of the temple has a symbol representing their Gem on the gate. The Gem symbol on the door will glow at the same time as a respective Gem activates theirs, unlocking the gate and allowing entrance to the respective Gem's room. The Gems are arranged within a star-shaped symbol, with the top point of the star containing Rose's corresponding Gem and the upper left and upper right containing Gems corresponding to those of Amethyst and Pearl, respectively. While the lower left and lower right points containing Gems correspond to Garnet. The center of the star-shaped symbol contains Mythril's Gem.

Steven knocks on Temple Gate to get the attention of the Gems. "Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst? Is anyone home?" He called them but got no response.

The front door then opens, and Vergil walks inside with his weapon in hand. Steven turns around to see him and happily runs up to him.

"Hey, Vergil." Steven greeted him. "You're here."

"Oh, morning, Steven." Vergil greeted him back, closing the door and placing his Sword back in his Gem. He then looked around. "What's up, where is everyone?"

"I thought you knew?" Steven responded.

Vergil shook his head. "Nope, haven't seen them since yesterday."

"Thennnn, what were you doing outside so early?" Steven asked, confused.

"Working on my Swordsmanship. I do this occasionally." Vergil explained. "Pearl gave me drills on what kind of training I should do every day, so whenever I wake up early, I do them first thing in the morning so I'll have the rest of the day for myself."

"The things you do fascinate me." Steven said with innocent wonder.

"On that note, what are you doing?" Vergil asked him, looking around.

"I'm making breakfast for everyone." Steven pointed to the Waffles on the counter. "I want us to eat it together."

"Cool, Waffles." Vergil walked over to them. "But I doubt it'll mean much, considering the Gems don't eat.…. Except for Amethyst, which still baffles me."

"Don't worry. I'll get them to come around." Steven assures him that he is confident. He then looks at the Waffles again and puts on a determined look on his face. "Hm! But I don't think it's ready yet."

"What do you mean?" Vergil asked, not getting it.

Instead of answering, Steven then takes the box of popcorn, puts it in the microwave, and when it's out, he dumps it over the waffles.

Steven smiled, satisfied by his work. "Now it's even better!"

"What, you expect me to eat that stuff now?" Vergil questioned, clearly not agreeing with the current state of the breakfast.

Steven is then sitting in front of the Warp Pad and waits for the Gems again. "One, two, three, warp in!" He raised his arms up, and nothing happened. Leading him to fall over to his side and sigh. "I guess they're still out saving the world."

"Or they just don't want to come out of their rooms?" Vergil suggested, pondering the idea. "People do that sometimes."

Steven then went back to the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of whipped cream. He then goes to the Waffles yet again and sprays a mountain of whipped cream on top of the Waffles.

Steven looks at the breakfast he just made and talks to it. "Look at you. You are out of control!"

"The same could be said about you." Vergil told him.

Not responding to his words, Steven goes to the front door of the house, opens it, and steps outside on the porch.

"Pearl? Garnet?!" Steven calls out, and when he hears no response, he goes back inside.

"Steven, I was outside just a moment ago." Vergil reminded him. "If I didn't see them, then they weren't outside then, so why would they be there now?"

"I figured I should at least take a look." Steven reasoned.

Steven then goes back to the Waffles. Continuing to improve the breakfast, Steven takes a strawberry and carefully places it on top of the whipped cream. He then lifts the breakfast up in triumph.

"It's done!" Steven declares, excited by his work. He then sets it down in the kitchen, sighs, and flops on the counter next to the breakfast. "That thing's too good for me to eat alone. It's a.… 'Together Breakfast'."

"You're actually planning to eat that thing?" Vergil asked him, unsure.

"Yeah, don't you want to eat some?" Steven asked, not seeing a problem.

"Hmm?" Vergil places a hand on his chin and takes a good, long look at the breakfast before saying. "Lose the Popcorn, and we'll talk."

The Warp Pad suddenly beamed in, startling the boys. When the light faded, Garnet appeared from the warp stream, carrying a purple scroll of some kind in her hand.

"Garnet, you warped?" Vergil asked, surprised by the fact that she warped in. "Where did you go?"

"Out." Was the only answer Garnet gave him.

"Ah, Garnet, perfect!" Steven picks up the Together Breakfast and gestures to it. "Check it out! It's not exactly healthy, but it's in a stack, so I guess you could say it's a… Balanced breakfast?"

.

.

.

Steven strains a smile at his own joke, trying to get a reaction from Garnet, but she doesn't. And Vergil told him.

"Puns are the lowest forms of comedy." Vergil said, unamused.

"Really?" Steven asked, surprised, before he turned back to Garnet and smiled hopefully. "I made us all breakfast. I thought we could eat together. Like, like best buds!"

"I can't stay. There's business to attend to inside the Temple." Garnet told him.

With that, Garnet turned to the Crystal Gate with the scroll tucked into her right armpit. She held out her hands to the star and shone her Gems at the Temple Gate. This caused the two red and blue Gems to light up as well. Two lines formed before coming together to go downwards all the way, splitting the door into three parts as it opened for her.

"What kind of business?" Vergil asked as Steven set the Together Breakfast on the kitchen counter, and they both approached her.

"I have to burn this." Garnet told him and unfurled the scroll, revealing strange mystic symbols/drawings of eyes, hands, and other abstract images. There were also ominous whispers that could be heard coming from the scroll.

Both Steven and Vergil looked captivated by the scroll.

"It's like one of those abstract paintings." Vergil noted, impressed.

"Cool!" Steven takes out his smartphone and takes a photo of the scroll, and Garnet snatches it away. "Ah!"

"I have to burn this, too." Garnets leaves into the Temple, and the Temple Gate closes behind her.

Once the Gate closes, the lines disappear as well, and now it looks just as it did before—A plain-looking door with the star symbol. Steven runs up to the Gate, hoping to stop Garnet.

"No, my apps!" Steven protested, reaching the door but unable to open it. Lifts his shirt and presses his Gem against the door. "Door! Open! Door!" And yet, nothing happens, which upsets him. "Aw, you never work when I need it." He then walks away from the Gate dejected.

"Steven, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but even if your Gem did work, you wouldn't have been able to follow her. The only one who can open the door to Garnet's room is Garnet." Vergil informed him.

"Huh? But I've seen Pearl and Amethyst open the door a few times before?" Steven pointed out, confused.

"It's a 'magic door' Steven." Vergil reminded him. "Even if it's the same door, it leads to different rooms depending on the Gem that opens it." He explained, pointing to the Gate. "So hypothetically, even if you did open it, you would end up in your Mom's room."

"Well, that might be fun too. I've never been in there before." Steven figured, and a thought came to mind. "Hey, wait… Have you ever gone into your Dad's room?"

Vergil shook his head. "No, I asked Pearl about it once, but she just told me not to worry about those kinds of things." He shrugged. "I guessed that meant she didn't want to talk about it."

Just then, the front door was kicked open. The two were startled and looked to see a purple police officer burst in through the front door of the house, wielding a water gun. "Dumb Police! Uhhh, you're dumb!" The Cop said, in a fake male voice, as he shot the water gun.

Steven noticed the water gun was aimed at the Together Breakfast and jumped in front of it in slow motion. "Nooooooo!" Steven cried out in slow motion and got squirted on his chest whilst protecting the Together Breakfast before hitting the floor.

Vergil gasped at what just happened and looked horrified. "Oh, the horror! The humility!" He yelled, covering his eyes and looking away.

The purple police officer starts laughing, and his head glows and shapeshifts, revealing to be Amethyst all this time. "Oh man, I totally got you!" She laughed at them. "You should've seen the look on your faces!"

"Aw, I knew it was you." Steven told her, unamused, as he got up and walked towards his closet.

"Pfft, how?" Amethyst asked, skeptical.

"Well, because you were a purple Cop wielding a water gun." Vergil pointed out. "It was kinda obvious."

Steven changes into a new dry shirt. "And I'm not dumb."

"But, it was fun to play along." Vergil added.

Amethyst then points at Vergil's shirt. "You've got something on your shirt."

Vergil just chuckled. "Too bad, Amethyst, I'm not falling for it."

"Hmm." Amethyst then looked deep in thought, and then she gasped in surprise.

"Steven, what's that!" She points at him, panicking.

"Wha?" Steven looks down.

"Steven, don't!" Vergil tried to warn him.

But he's too late, for when Steven looks down and inspects his shirt, Amethyst squirts another blast of water at him on the shirt and then in the face, laughing all the while.

Just then, the Temple Gate starts opening again. This time, the door splits into two halves with a wavy, diagonal line and purple light.

"Hey, that's my door!" Amethyst exclaims as she shapeshifts back to normal, drops the water gun, and runs towards the Gate.

When the door was opened, it was as if it had a slimy texture as strains of bubbly goo were pulled apart. It was completely opened when the two halves snapped away from each other.

Pearl is seen exiting the Temple through Amethyst's door with a Scimitar-Sword in her hands. She stopped when she opened her eyes and saw Amethyst in front of her. "Oh, Amethyst, there you are. Care to explain what one of my Swords was doing in your room?" She asked the small Gem accusingly.

"Having a Sword party." Amethyst said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Oh please, you took it!" Pearl accused her.

"I did not!" Amethyst denied.

While they were arguing, Steven leaned over to Vergil and whispered. "I didn't know Pearl collected Swords."

"Well, sure, Pearl is really into a lot of weapons, but Swords are her favorite." Vergil informed him, also whispering. "How else did you think she was able to teach me how to use my Sword."

Steven shrugged. "I don't know. I figured she taught you how to use a Spear like hers, and you just did the same with your Sword."

While they were talking, Pearl and Amethyst's argument had just about ended. "It's fine. It's in the past. I forgive you." Pearl swings the sword over her shoulder as Amethyst groans. Pearl then looks down at her with a smug look. "Also, I cleaned up your awful, awful mess. You're welcome."

"You did WHAT?! I have a system!" Amethyst shouted and ran into the Temple.

Steven tried to run after her, but the Gate had closed already. "Amethyst, wait!"

"What's the matter, Steven?" Pearl asked as he walked back to the counter.

"I wanted us all to have breakfast together. So I made Together Breakfast." He lifts up the breakfast to show her. "But everyone keeps leaving."

"Ah, that's nice." Pearl brushed him off as she turned to the Temple Gate and made her Gem glow.

On the star, her Gem glows, too, and it opens the door to her room. Pearl's door opened with a glowing blue, straight vertical line with a circle around the star on the door. It opened smoothly, revealing waterfalls in her room. Pearl walks and sinks into the water.

"Oh no, not you too!" Steven cried out.

"Ignored. Why would ya ask a question if you're not even going to listen to the answer?" Vergil asked rhetorically, a little irked. "And why's everyone so busy today?"

"I can't let this become 'Together Brunch'!" Steven proclaimed, determined.

"Hey, Brunch people have feelings too, you know?" Vergil chastised him.

Steven didn't respond to his comment and picked up the Together Breakfast before he ran towards the door. Deciding to go as well, Vergil runs after him. They manage to keep it from closing by using his arms to halt the door from closing all the way. Steven slips past him and gets inside Pearl's Room. Once he's in, Vergil slips in as well and lets the door close.

Pearl's room was at the top of a waterfall and had a shallow pool with many round-shaped, fountain-like waterfall platforms that were floating above the pool. Up above, there is a large golden ribbon-esque decoration that splits into all the fountains, and the background consists of a dark indigo and light purple sky with many red, white, and blue stars.

"Woooow." Vergil was mesmerized, in awe at the beauty of the room. "It's like one of those paintings you see in an art museum."

"But where's Pearl?" Steven wondered, looking around.

"She's up there." Vergil pointed upwards.

Steven looks in the direction Vergil is pointing to and sees Pearl emerging from the top of the central waterfall platform as she performs a short and graceful ballet dance that summons her Sword collection from beneath the water. She then replaces the missing Sword back into its scabbard.

"Hmm, there we go." Pearl said, smiling in satisfaction. Until the sheath was slightly crooked, and she adjusted it upright. "Ahh…" She let out a satisfied breath.

Seeing that she is done, Steven shouts. "Hey, Peaaaarl!"

Pearl is startled when she notices the two boys in her room as her sword collection sinks back into the waterfall.

"Ever heard of an indoor voice?" Vergil narrowed his eyes at Steven.

"Steven, Vergil! What are you two doing here?" Pearl exclaimed, worried. "You know it's dangerous for you inside the Temple."

Pearl snaps her fingers, which reopens the Temple Gate back to the Beach House.

Steven looked at Pearl with determination. "We're going to have a nice Together Breakfast, even if I have to get my shoes wet." He steps into Pearl's waterfall pool, which seems shallow at first but gets deeper the further he goes, and he sinks into it up to his chest.

"WHAT?! Get out of there!" Pearl demanded.

Steven ignored her and held the Together Breakfast up above his head. "I'll swim it over to you." he starts swimming with one hand. "See, doggy paddle, forward." Steven then notices the water descending as he gets pulled towards the waterfall. "Oh gosh, wait! Doggy paddle, reverse! Reverse!" Steven tries to swim backward, but the current is too strong, so he can't.

"Steven!" Pearl cried out.

"Hang on, Steven!" Vergil called out, jumping in the water as well and swimming after him. "I'll get out of that waterfall!"

"Vergil, no! Don't go in there!" Pearl cried out, trying to warn him.

But to no avail, as when Vergil reaches Steven, they are both at the edge. Steven starts panicking. They fall over the edge of the waterfall. While falling, Steven is still holding on to his Together Breakfast. The water becomes much steeper before the waterfall bends at odd angles that shouldn't be possible. And yet, they didn't fall off.

"What the?" Steven stared at the falls in wonder.

"Looks like I was wrong. It isn't a waterfall. It's a water STREAAAMMMMM!" Vergil finished with a shout as the stream looped, curved, and turned.

They were then bounced several times by the gravity-defying stream before being sent straight down.

"Woah, keep it together, breakfast!" Steven shouted before they hit the bottom of another pool.

On the shore of wherever the two of them washed up, Vergil slowly got up and spitted out some water while Steven's front was facing down at the ground. Still determined to keep the Together Breakfast intact, he held it over his head.

Steven groans in pain and lifts his head up to see where they are. "Where are we?" He wondered.

They were now in some sort of cave. They were on one of many islands that were filled with piles of junk and other belongings that made the place look almost exactly like a bigger version of Greg's shortage looker. The walls of the cave were shining with crystal-like formations all around.

"Based on the mountains of trash, I'd say we're in Amethyst's room." Vergil guessed.

He was proven right as they saw Amethyst walking over to a matter that had a pile of junk on it, examining Pearl's organization of her room. Amethyst flips over a pile of organized junk and smiles. "Better…"

The boys walked over to her, and Steven addressed her. "Amethyst."

"Oh, hey, you guys. Did you come down the waterfall?" Amethyst asked before looking upset. "Pearl gets so mad that I have her junk, but it's always falling down here."

"Junk like what?" Steven asked.

"Junk like… You!" She suddenly picks up Steven while laughing. Steven is also laughing. "Imma throw you in the junk pile!" Then she tosses him onto the pile. Vergil tries to sneak away, but Amethyst notices him. "Hey! Don't think I've forgotten… You!" She said mischievously before running towards him.

"No, no, no, no." Vergil protested, trying to get away.

But he only made it a few steps before Amethyst caught him while still laughing and threw him in the same pile as Steven. "Junk toss!" After he landed, all three of them shared a laugh. Then Amethyst looked upset again. "Isn't it awful? Pearl organized everything."

"Still looks messy to me." Steven argued.

But Amethyst took that as a compliment. "Aw, thanks. I try. Boom!" She kicks away a small junk pile.

"This looks like more than just trying." Vergil told her, looking around. "Your room almost looks like a city junkyard."

"Really? Thanks, that means a lot." Amethyst said, flattered, and noticed the breakfast Steven was carrying. "Oh, what's that, Steven?"

"It's a Together Breakfast." Steven replied.

"It's a meal he threw together." Vergil explained nonchalantly.

"Alright, snacks!" Amethyst reaches out to grab it.

Steven, however, pulls away. "No! It's for everyone to eat together. That's the essence of Together Breakfast—"

"Will you give the Together Breakfast thing a rest already!" Vergil interrupted him. "Besides, it's already past the allotted time in the day for breakfast, so now that thing isn't breakfast. It's brunch."

Whaaaat?!" Steven asked, upset by this news, before looking objective. "Well then, we'll eat Breakfast at brunch."

Vergil then gave him a flat look. "You have a one-track mind, don't you?"

"He sure does." Amethyst agrees, trying to look smart. ".….Gimme, gimme!"

Amethyst attempts to take it, but Steven turns and runs away from her. Amethyst follows and chases after Steven into a cavern corridor.

"Hey, wait for me!" Vergil shouted, running as well to follow after them.

The three of them were now running through the corridor, with Steven in front, Amethyst behind him chasing him, and Vergil in the back chasing both of them.

"Anyone noticed we've been doing a lot of running lately?" Vergil pointed out.

While running, Steven looked back and shouted to Amethyst. "We have to eat it together!"

As they continued running through the corridor, the ground they were running on began to twist, and now they were upside down.

"Huh?" Steven noticed, confused.

"Ah, cool! It's like one of those levels from Sonic the Hedgehog!" Vergil exclaimed, both amazed and impressed by the gravity-defying corridor.

The Together Breakfast begins to fall due to gravity. "Woah!" Steven quickly manages to catch it before the corridor turns back upright again.

Amethyst laughs and giggles. "You can't outrun me. We both have short legs!"

"But I was built for speed!" Vergil declared as he began to speed up. He then ran much faster and outran both Amethyst and Steven, now placing himself in the front of the pack while laughing with his eyes closed. "Haha, I bet I could even win a marathon!"

"Look out!" Steven warned him.

"Huh? Woah!" Vergil comes to a skidding stop as the end of the corridor leads to a drop-off, and when Steven catches up to him, they both see a room full of floating platforms, forcing them to stop for a moment.

"Grr, a dead-end, my only weakness." Vergil cursed, frustrated.

Steve looked behind him to see Amethyst still running after him. "Steven! I'm hungry!"

Still determined to keep the breakfast safe, Steven quickly hopped onto one of the platforms and started hopping across more of them. "Just. Hold. On!"

"Ha, great idea, Steven." Vergil praised, jumping across the platforms himself. "From Sonic the Hedgehog to Super Mario."

As Steve continued hopping, he saw an exit at the end of the room.

"An exit, woo!" He leaps down towards the final platform, causing the Together Breakfast to fall apart, but he manages to catch all of it in order. "Skills!" He brags and runs down the next corridor.

Vergil lands in front of the exit next. "Wait up!" He followed him.

A second later, Amethyst also lands in front of the exit and chases after Steven. "Get back here!"

In another corridor, Steven and Vergil were running at the same pace. Steven looked back at Amethyst again.

"You're completely missing the point of this!" He told her.

"Or maybe you're taking this too seriously." Vergil suggested to him. "Just a thought."

The two of them then ran into a red-tinted room, and Steven saw something that looked like a pole. Steven jumps and clings onto the crystal pole when Amethyst also arrives in the room.

"Hey, wait a second!" Amethyst said. Rather than looking mischievous or joking this time, she looked alarmed and frightened.

"Boys, there you are!" They both look to see Pearl entering from another side of the room.

"Pearl, sweet!" Steven smiled. "Two out of three."

Pearl notices what he's clinging to and becomes worried. "Oh, oh! Steven! Be careful!" She warned him, afraid.

"Why?" Steven asked, puzzled.

"Hey, is anyone else hearing a weird beating sound?" Vergil noticed, a little confused.

The boys then both look up and see that right above their heads is a huge, red, heart-like crystal structure. Coming out of the heart were what appeared to be veins that were perturbing from it and attaching themselves to the walls of the chamber. And Steven was clinging to the central vein that went directly down into a hole in the floor. The heart was also making beating noises.

"Whoa, good gravy…" Vergil said, looking astonished at the heart. "What is that?"

"You really shouldn't be in here. This is the Crystal Heart." Pearl told them, considered. "Oh! It's connected to the most dangerous areas of the temple! Hold on tight, and don't look down." She said before approaching him.

Steven does the opposite and looks down, sees a dark abyss, and starts panicking. "Aaah!" He loses his grip and starts sliding down.

Amethyst, Vergil, and Pearl all run up to him to try to stop him, but they are too late, and he slides down the dark hole.

"No!" Pearl cried out.

"I'm coming, Steven!" Vergil yelled as he jumped down the hole after him.

"Vergil, don't!" Pearl cried out, terrified.

Steven is screaming as he slides down a dark pit, while Vergil is free-falling down as well and soon catches up to Steven.

"Just hang on!" Vergil told him, alert.

He keeps screaming until suddenly. They find themselves sliding past a bright room with pink clouds.

"Oh hey, this isn't so bad." Steven noticed, now more relaxed.

"Yeah, it's actually kinda pretty." Vergil agreed, less alert.

They continue sliding, and after that, they slide past a darker room with jagged walls.

"Ah, never mind!" Steven screamed, afraid again.

"Yeah, this is way worse!" Vergil agreed, alert again.

Steven eventually comes to a halt when the pole bends horizontally. Vergil grabs onto the pole to halt his fall as well. Wherever the Crystal Heart took them, it was likely deep within the Temple. It was mostly dark, with a small pool of lava in the center. The wall was covered in more veins, and floating around the room's ceiling were Gemstones in bubbles that were so large in number it was impossible to count them all.

They both look around and see Garnet walking toward a pool of lava.

"It's Garnet." Vergil whispered so as not to be heard.

The tall Gem takes out Steven's Smartphone, snaps it in half, and drops it into the lava.

"Aw…" Steven uttered, upset by the loss of his phone.

They both watch as Garnet takes the scroll out, unfurls it, dips it into the lava, and begins to burn it, causing horrible screams to emit from it as Garnet seals it within a bubble. Steven slides off the pole while Vergil jumps off, and at that moment, Amethyst and Pearl come down from the pole and join them from above.

Pearl grabbed them both by the shoulder, making both the boys jump a little until they saw her. "Steven, we need to get the two of you out of here." She whispered to them.

Amethyst also whispered. "Come on."

"Okay." Vergil whispered as well, deciding to comply.

Steven, However.

"Ah, this is great! We're all together!" Steven yelled out loud.

Garnet gasped, startled, and she looked back at the four of them. However, it distracted Garnet from the task at hand. While the scroll had burned completely, the smoke inside the bubble tried to escape, but Garnet quickly tried to concentrate and contain it.

Steven continues to be oblivious and shouts. "We can finally eat!" Pearl and Amethyst run towards Garnet. "I mean, we don't have any forks, but we can use our hands! I'm not gonna judge."

"That's great, but I think something's happening!" Vergil pointed out, becoming worried.

Garnet was distracted again but was still trying to contain the visibly struggling smoke in the bubble. "Steven, go! Vergil, go with him!" She ordered as Pearl and Amethyst came over to help.

"Okay, want to meet in the kitchen?" Steven asked, still missing the point.

"No, she means 'go' as in RUN!" Vergil spelled it out for him.

Unfortunately, Garnet gets distracted again, and the bubble pops.

The smoke begins to expand into a much larger and more powerful form, which it uses to attack the Gems. It tries to smash the Gems, but they jump back from it. From its first sprouted several more streams of smoke. One went towards the pair of half-Gems, so Vergil quickly grabbed Steven and ran to the wall, away from the smoke. The Gems then summon their weapons.

"It's trying to escape! Force it back!" Garnet shouted before she attacked the Smoke Monster.

The Gems begin to fight the smoke monster, physically hurting it while Steven backs away. Vergil then summons his Sword and turns to Steven. "Stay behind me!" He instructed him.

After that, Vergil dashed off and joined the Gems in attacking the Smoke Monster. It summons hands made of smoke to try and attack them, but they all stay on the offensive and push it back; Amethyst whips it, Garnet punches it, Pearl pierces it, and Vergil slices it. The Smoke Monster then dashes toward Steven and hits him, knocking him down.

[Steven!] They all shouted.

Steven, however, is fine and groans in pain, but the Smoke Monster seeps into the Together Breakfast.

All was quiet until the breakfast began to shake a bit. "Together Breakfast?" Steven asked before he screamed in terror as the Together Breakfast transformed into a massive, grotesque monster made of the breakfast's ingredients and wrapped Steven in syrup.

Pearl hurled her spear at it, drawing its attention even though it was ineffective. "It's taken refuge in organic matter!" She told the others before the Monster attacked Pearl and stuck her to the wall with a mix of whipped cream and syrup.

"Pearl!" Vergil screamed with worry as the arm stuck her to the wall. He ran to her and jumped, already in his stance.

"TENFOLD SLASH!"

A single slash would have been ineffective, but with his rapid Sword slashes unleashed upon the arm of whipped cream, it was enough to cut through the arm before it absorbed the attacks as it did with Pearl's spear. And with that, Pearl was freed as she and Vergil landed on the fall.

"Pearl, you're safe." Vergil went up to Pearl, relief on his face.

"Oh, thank you, Vergil." Pearl hugged him, grateful to be freed and disgusted by the experience. "Ugh! That was horrible!"

"Now it has all the power of a breakfast. We have to destroy it." Garnet informed them.

The monster snaps Pearl's spear in two. Garnet tries to punch the monster, but her gauntlet gets stuck in whipped cream. Amethyst tries to pull Garnet away. The Monster shot more syrup at Pearl and Vergil, and they both jumped away to dodge.

"This is by far the weirdest monster I've ever seen!" Vergil shouted as he ran.

"I didn't want this!" Steven shouts as he pushes against the weight of the monster with the breakfast plate with his back against the wall. "I just wanted to eat together like, like best buds!"

"Steven, you've got to get away." Garnet told him, still stuck.

"But my breakfast!" Steven insisted.

"It's not breakfast anymore!" Vergil edged him. "It's a Monster!"

The Monster launches a giant waffle at Garnet and Amethyst. The waffle sends them off their feet and smashes them into a wall.

Steven looks on in horror, then he glares at the Monster and starts pushing it. "That's enough!" He shouts, now standing up and pushing the Monster even harder with great strength. "I… Don't care if you… Are the most important meal of the day!" He starts to shove the Monster toward the lava pool. "I made you to bring us together… Not to tear us apart!"

With one final push, Steven shoves the Monster all the way into the lava, burning and destroying it for good.

Garnet punched a hole in one of the squares of the waffle, and she and Amethyst crawled out. Everyone then gathers around Steven by the lava pool.

"I'm sorry, guys. I guess I dreamed too big." Steven said, looking upset.

"Well, at least it's over, and no one was hurt." Vergil consoled him.

A few minutes later, they all leave the Temple and return to the kitchen while the Crystal Gems recreate Steven's original breakfast, but twice the size of his old one.

"It looks great!" Steven proclaimed as his eyes lit up. "It's even more together and even more breakfast!"

"Yeaahhh, I'm not eating that." Vergil told him before walking away.

"Wah? But you have to!" Steven called out to him. "I did all that so we could eat it together!"

Vergil stops as he is halfway out the front door and says. "You say that, but answer me this: Are you willing to eat that?" He asked before leaving.

After being asked that, Steven and the Gems stare at it with great concern and unwillingness to eat it.

Steven then breaks the silence and says. "He's right. I don't think I can eat this."

"Let's order a pizza." Amethyst suggested, to which Steven and Pearl agreed.

The star iris zooms in on Garnet as she says. "It did try to kill us." She reasoned.

And that's the chapter.

And there wasn't really much to show off in this chapter. It was just a fun, laidback chapter that just showed their daily lives—Pretty skippable, honestly.
