Giant Woman

The day begins outside the Crystal Temple, where Amethyst—Who was mostly drenched, and Pearl are playing checkers on the beach. Steven is perched on a lifeguard chair, and Vergil is nearby with a bucket of water balloons.

Amethyst concentrates on her next move. She then saw an opening and captured one of Pearl's pieces. "Ha, take that!"

Pearl pretended to be impressed. "Wow, Amethyst, I'm impressed." She said mockingly before getting hit by a water balloon.

On his chair, Steven was given another balloon by Vergil and pointed to Pearl. "Now it's your move, Pearl."

Steven then threw the balloon he was holding at Amethyst and signaled Vergil to keep sending more as he kept hurling them at Amethyst, which she seemed to enjoy.

"Steven, are the water balloons really necessary?" Pearl asked.

"Yeah, I don't get it either; why are we doing this again?" Vergil asked, scratching his hair.

"Simple, this way the moves really matter." Steven reasoned.

"But it's checkers! Every single move matters." Pearl loudly pointed out.

"Actually, I think you're thinking of Chess?" Vergil corrected her.

"No, both games apply to that prerogative." Pearl argued.

Amethyst twirls a strand of her wet hair around her finger laid back. "It sounds like someone's being a sore loser."

Pearl looked steamed and started pouting. She then looks down at the gameboard and grins. "I'm not a sore loser…" She picks up one of her pieces and captures all of Amethyst's pieces in one fell swoop. "Because I just won the game." She proclaimed, looking smug about it.

"Whaaa—?!" Amethyst gasped before she braced herself happily at what was to come. "Here it comes!" She holds her arms out as Steven pelts her with all his water balloons, and she falls backward on her back. "Aaah! Ha, feels good to lose." She said with satisfaction.

Pearl stands up and clears her throat. "Ahem, I certainly hope that's not the attitude you have during battle."

Vergil gave her a good-natured smile. "Come on, Pearl. You know she didn't mean it like that."

Amethyst groaned as she sat up. "Yeah, back off, you're no fun anymore. This is why we never form Opal."

Pearl got into her face and chided Amethyst. "We don't form Opal because you're difficult and a mess."

Provided, Amethyst did the same, and their faces touched. "We don't form Opal because you're uptight and—"

Before they could go any further, Steven jumped in and shoved Amethyst and Pearl apart with an excited look on his face. "Guys! Guys! What is Opal?"

"Oh, it's the two of us mashed together." Amethyst simply explained while clasping her hands.

Pearl scoffs. "Is water just hydrogen and oxygen "mashed" together?"

Amethyst and Steven seemed clueless while Vergil answered. "Technically, it is, but it's a lot more delicate than just "mashing" them together."

Pearl sighed. "Well, at least someone understood my analogy. Look here, Steven." Pearl kneeled down and started manipulating the sand in animated figurines of her and Amethyst. "When we synchronize our forms, we can combine them into a powerful fusion Gem named Opal." The two sand figures danced and came together to form a taller, larger Gem.

Amethyst abruptly stomps on the sand figurine. "Except I don't dance like that."

"Amethyst!" Pearl scolded, irked.

Steven became excited again. "Wow, that's so cool!

Vergil just looked at Pearl, impressed. "Yeah, I don't know you the power of psammokinesis."

Once again, Steven and Amethyst looked clueless as Pearl groaned.

"Psammokinesis means the power to control sand." She explained to them. "And yes, there's just never been many opportunities for me to demonstrate it until now."

"That is pretty cool." Steven admitted before turning to Amethyst. "But tell me more about Opal!" He requested, clearly more interested in that.

"Well, Steven, she's an ultra-powerful, stone-cold Betty—" Amethyst gloated, pointing to herself. "That part's me." And she's like, kinda tall—" She whispered to the boys. "That part's Pearl."

Pearl sighed and stepped in. "What Amethyst is attempting to say is—Opal is an amalgam of our combined magical and physical attributes, fused into a single entity."

To help him understand, Vergil added his own explanation. "Think of it like this: the color Red and the color Yellow are two separate colors, but mix them together just the right way with the same amount of both, and you get a perfect shade of Orange."

Steven nodded and smiled. "Oh, now I get it."

Pearl raised a brow and put her hands on her hips. "Really? That's what it took to make him understand?"

Amethyst shrugged, not upset. "Eh, makes more sense than anything I said."

"Hey, wait, have you ever seen Opal?" Steven asked Vergil curiously.

Vergil shook his head. "Nah, but Garnet told me about her. She knows a lot about Fusion… Somehow."

"Can you do it right now?" Steven grabs Pearl's hand. "Come on, form Opal!" He asked the Gems.

Amethyst scoffs and looks away, and judging by Pearl's reaction, neither of them likes that idea. "We only form Opal when it's absolutely necessary." Pearl informed Steven when, suddenly, they heard the sound of the Warp Pad.

The four of them look to see a bright light that emits from inside the Beach House.

"Garnet's back!" Steven yelled, running towards the house.

"It's mission time!" Vergil shouted, running after Steven.

Now inside the Beach House, Steven, Vergil Pearl, and Amethyst return to the house to greet Garnet, who walks off the Warp Pad.

Steven approached her with excitement. "Ooh! Ooh! Did you bring me anything?" Garnet presents a rock she pulled out of nowhere. "Whoa, a rock! Thanks, Garnet."

"Gave me that, you big dummy!" Vergil just snatches the rock from him and points at it. "This is just an ordinary rock. We've got dozens of them on the beach." He then threw the rock to the side and looked at Garnet while Steven went to re-retrieve the rock. "So, how'd your mission go?

"That's right, did you succeed?" Pearl also asked.

"I have located the Geode Beetles of Heaven and Earth." Garnet informed. "We should split up to retrieve them."

"Well, I'm going with not Pearl." Amethyst said while Steven picked up and started biting the rock.

"Well, that's perfect because I don't want to go with grammatically incorrect people anyway." Pearl shot back.

Steven, still biting the rock, asked. "Is she talking about me?"

"No, but I can see why you'd think that." Vergil told him, nonchalant.

"You four go together; I go alone." Garnet commanded them.

This was met with surprise from Pearl & Amethyst. [What? Why?]

"The Earth Beetle's at the bottom of the boiling lava lake, and only I can swim in lava." Garnet told them as she summoned a pair of goggles over her visor with a strap that went around her square afro. "You'll find the Heaven Beetle at the top of the Sky Spire."

"There's a Sky Spire now?" Vergil asked, surprised. "Is it like the Sea Spire?"

"It's similar to the Sea Spire, but it's also safer." Garet answered his question.

"You mean boring-er." Amethyst said with annoyance.

"You mean more boring." Pearl corrected her grammatical error.

Amethyst smirked slightly. "So you agree with me."

"Actually, I'm pretty sure she was just correcting you." Vergil informed Amethyst.

Pearl looked at Amethyst, annoyed. "Ugh! Come on, you three, let's go."

Steven puts his rock down on the floor, and He, Vergil, Pearl, and Amethyst then walk towards the Warp Pad.

Before they go, Garnet calls out to them. "Vergil, look after Steven. And Steven, be sure to keep the harmony."

Vergil gave her a smile and a thumbs up. "Leave it to me."

"Yeah, No problem." Steven then gets on the warp pad. "Today's going to be all about HAR-MON—" The Warp Pad warps them away before he can finish.

"—NY…!" Steven finished as they arrived at the Sky Spire, and Steven once again fell upon warping in. "Oomph!"

"Still need to work on that." Vergil noted as he and the Gems stepped off the Warp Pad.

Steven got up, and both the boys looked up to see the Sky Spire. It was a free-floating structure in the air around the surrounding mountains with smaller floating rocks leading towards it. However, it was far away from where they were and the only way to get to it was a large and long staircase edged into the rocks and ground o the mountain and rocks.

"Whooaaa… Is this where the Heaven Beetle lives?" Steven asked, standing up.

"Apparently." Pearl replied.

"All the way at the top." Amethyst commented.

"You mean we have to climb all the way up there?" Vergil asked, clearly not liking that idea, then he mumbled. "I swear, this is just like the Sea Spire."

"So, when you fuse, do you turn into a giant, giant woman or just a regular-sized giant woman?" Steven asked the two Gems.

Amethyst groans in response as Vergil starts climbing.

"Does one of you control the right arm, and the other controls the left arm?" Steven asked again.

"Come on, Steven." Pearl instructed as she started walking away with Amethyst and Vergil

"Wait, these are extremely important questions." Steven exclaimed as he ran to catch up with them.

Steven stopped at the base of a long stairway and pretended to be winded. "Phew, there sure are a lot of stairs. How about you form Opal and give me a piggyback ride?"

[NO!] Pearl & Amethyst stopped a few steps up and gave a swift response.

Steven then followed after and managed to catch up. However, he wasn't done asking questions. "What about if you eat a hotdog? Whose stomach does it go into? Or do you share the same stomach?" Steven laughs. "That would be gross."

"Steven, you know Pearl doesn't eat, right?" Vergil stoically pointed out.

Suddenly, a nearby bush begins to rustle, causing Pearl, Vergil, and Amethyst to summon their weapons. However, what came out of the bush was a goat that was eating a thicket. It didn't seem bothered by their presence or the fact that they had weapons.

But Steven gasps. "Lookout! It's a magical goat guardian! Quick, you have to form Opal! It's the only way to defeat it!" He pretended to cower down on the ground with his hands on his head. "Hurry before it kills us all!" He peeked up at them, only to see the Gems looking deadpanned at him and Vergil going up to the goat.

Vergil pets the goat's head. "Wonder how a goat found its way here."

Pearl also walks up to the goat. "Ugh, Steven, we only fuse for deadly situations. Does this look like a deadly situation?" She explained as she pointed at the goat, and it bit her hand. "Ow! Hey, bad mountain goat!"

The goat bleats in response, and Amethyst starts laughing so hard she falls over while Vergil rubs the goat's chin to calm it down.

Steven looked down with disappointment. "Darn, it. Aw, I'm never going to get to see Opal.

Steven sighs and starts to sing.

~All I wanna do is see you turn into a giant woman~

~A giant woman!~

~All I wanna be is someone who gets to see a giant woman~

As he sings, the group, joined by the goat, make their way up the spire. As they continued to climb, Pearl and Amethyst kept antagonizing each other.

~All I wanna do is help you turn into a giant woman~

~A giant woman!~

~All I wanna be is someone who gets to see a giant woman~

It started with the four of them reaching stairs that were too steep to walk up, so they began climbing the stairs like a ladder. While climbing, Pearl—Who was above Amethyst, kicked down on one of the steps, which knocked some dirt down and onto Amethyst, which made her upset, though Pearl brushed it off with an innocent expression.

~Oh, I know it'll be great, and I just can't wait to see the person you are together~

Next, they came across a river with a small patch of stone that they decided to use to get across. As Pearl was hopping on the stones, Amethyst decided to scare her by shapeshifting into a shark jumping out of the water. This made Pearl lose her balance and slip into the river while Amethyst shapeshifted back to normal and laughed at her.

~If you give it a chance, you can do a huge dance because you are a giant woman~

~You might even like being together, and if you don't, it won't be forever.~

Next, they were walking over a ropebridge, and Steven and Amethyst decided to start jumping up and down to shake the bridge. Vergil held onto the ropes to keep steady as the bridge was shaking while Pearl ran up to the two and stopped them. Pearl and Amethyst started to argue, and a fight was about to break out, but Steven got between them and formed a hug. But the two Gems just looked away from each other, and Vergil sighed, not liking their constant disagreements.

~But if it were me, I'd really wanna be a giant woman~

~A giant woman!~

Soon, they were nearing the top of the Sky Spire and walking up a hill-like pathway—Except for Steven, who was riding on his goat. Before long, they reach the top of the stairs and stop.

~All I wanna do is see you turn into a giant woman~

The group eventually reaches the edge of a cliff. In front of them is a broken pass leading to a spiraling passage. The pass was nothing but several broken pieces of floating land connecting them.

At that point, the goat bleats and leaps off, dropping Steven off its back, and hops across several pieces of floating platforms onto the other side. After reaching the other side without any trouble, the goat bleats at the Crystal Gems.

"Wow, that is one capable goat." Vergil noted, slightly impressed.

"Wait up, Steven Jr.!" Steven exclaimed as he tried to follow the goat.

Before he can, though, Pearl halts Steven and moves him away from the edge. "Wait, Steven! I'm not sure you can make those jumps."

"Oh, you should fuse into Opal and then lay across the rocks like a bridge!" Steven suggested.

Amethyst looked away while Vergil shook his head. "That won't work. Opal isn't tall enough to reach that far."

"Really? How tall is Opal?" Steven asked, very interested.

"Well, Garnet said that Opal would be as tall as Pearl if she was standing on Garnet's shoulders." Vergil described.

"Wow, hey, how come Garnet knows so much about Fusion?" Steven asked with wonder.

Vergil shrugged. "I don't know; she just does, she just does."

"Anyway, we don't need Opal to get across." Pearl stated.

"Can you do it anyway?" Steven begged, even getting on his knees and putting his hands together. "Pleeease? It would be easier, wouldn't it?"

"Not as easy as this!" Amethyst suddenly picks Steven up, throws him on a floating platform, and then jumps towards him, landing on the same platform and looking proud.

Steven stood up straight and praised the small Gem. "Oh wow, Amethyst, that was a really good idea."

"Hah, I know, I'm full of 'em." Amethyst bragged.

Pearl reacts in intense worry, which she shows by grabbing her head and letting out a growl. Vergil translated her thoughts. "I don't think she liked that idea."

"Ah, come on, Pearl, it's safe." Steven assured her. "Just look."

"Steven, no!" Vergil attempted to warn him.

But Steven didn't hear him and started wobbling the floating platform. Amethyst joins in the wobbling and decided to jump in place. This causes the platform to tip over and causes Steven to fall off the platform.

"AAAAHHH!" Steven screamed as he fell.

Pearl & Amethyst gasped as Vergil panicked. "Oh no." He uttered before jumping off the cliff to go after Steven.

As Vergil quickly dives after the screaming Steven, Amethyst summoned her whip and whipped it downwards, wrapping it around Vergil's waist. After doing that, both Pearl and Amethyst grab onto it while Vergil reaches Steven and catches him. Amethyst & Pearl then fished both of them back up onto the platform.

Once they were safe, Vergil let out a sigh of relief. "Ha, that was close."

"That was so great how you worked together. Why don't you do that all the time?" Steven praised Pearl and Amethyst.

The two Gems look at each other briefly and then look away stubbornly.

After getting across the rest of the rocks, the group was now at the base of the Sky Spire. They saw that all they had to do was go up another long staircase. A spiral light-gray hallway with orange half-oval roof tiles traveling around the structure. The group climbs the spiraling passage and, after a few minutes, arrives atop the Sky Spire.

At the top of the structure, there was a shallow pool with a single stone pathway that stretched in front of them in the middle of the pool. Following where the path led, there was a tiny modern house in the middle of the pool. Standing next to it was the goat that arrived long before they did.

Steven was panting like he couldn't go on anymore. "I can't feel my legs anymore…" He groaned until he saw the house and returned to his usual self. "Hey, look at that!"

"What the heck? He just said he couldn't feel his legs?" Vergil was slightly surprised by Steven's sudden change in attitude.

Steven ran over to a small temple and stopped beside the goat standing next to it. "It's a tiny temple!"

Pearl and Vergil walked over to join him. "It's just where Garnet said it would be." Pearl noted. "The Heaven Beetle should be inside."

Amethyst just stayed beside the staircase and leaned against the wall, looking indifferent.

Steven peers inside the house and giggles. "Check it out. It's even got a little beetle bedroom, and little beetle bongos, and a little beetle baby book."

Vergil peers in, too, and sees everything Steven is seeing. "Huh, whoever built all this must be really good with their hands."

Pearl gently moved Steven to the side and peeked in as well. "But where's the beetle? It's supposed to be here. The Heaven Beetle wouldn't leave, would it?" Pearl asked her as she began to panic. "Oh! It could be anywhere!"

Amethyst chuckles. "Maybe you should freak out some more. That's really gonna help us find it."

This angered Pearl, and she walked up to her. "I can't believe your attitude, Amethyst. And now you're just slouching over here doing nothing."

"Hey, it's not my fault the beetle isn't there. Why do you have to make things worse by squawking at me?!" Amethyst snapped at her.

Suddenly a shrieking sound could be heard in the distance that made the goat start bleating in distress.

"I don't squawk!" Pearl retorted.

"Yeah, you're squawking at me and commenting on my posture!" Amethyst shouted.

"THIS is squawking! SQUAWK, SQUAWK!" Pearl yelled.

Vergil & Steven ran over to stop the argument, and the boys pushed the two Gems apart.

"Stop it, you two!" Vergil told them loudly. "Can't you just get along? Would that really be so wrong?"

"Yeah, now cut it out! You're scaring Steven Jr.!" Steven scolded them as the goat kept bleating.

Vergil sighed at him. "Steven, that's not—"

RUMBLE!

Just then, a giant bird monster emerges from the lake surrounding the tiny temple.

The Big Bird takes the form of a massive bird-like creature with large, broad wings, thin, stick-like legs, and a comparatively small tail. She has brown feathers covering almost all of her body with purple plumage on her chest and belly. She has a huge jagged beak that extends to her forehead and is able to hold a large number of objects and has no visible eyes. Her interior is encrusted with Gemstones that are encased by bubbles.

It then swallows Steven Jr. whole.

Steven gasps with tears in his eyes. "My son."

Pearl then summons her Spear and hurls it at the giant bird monster, it proceeds to simply swallow the Spear, forcing the group to retreat back into the spiraling passage.

"In here, guys!" Amethyst, who was already inside, called them over.

As they went inside, it snapped its beak through the entrance, trying to fit through, and was roaring at them.

"It swallowed my Spear! Pearl exclaimed in shock.

"And it's too big to fit head-on!" Vergil added with concern.

"Guys, this is great! Now's the perfect time for you two to form Opal!" Steven happily pointed out.

The two Gems looked surprised while Vergil thought about it and said. "You know, he might be right this time."

The giant bird monster begins pecking at the roof of the passage. Pearl and Amethyst glance at each other with grimaced expressions as they realize this is the only option.

Steven sits down, and the boys watch from the sidelines as Pearl and Amethyst walk to the center of the room. First, they bow to each other, making their Gems glow. Pearl started her dance, moving with grace and beauty. She then opened one closed eye to look at Amethyst.

The Purple Gems dance couldn't really be called graceful. It was more sexual and vulgar.

Pearl groaned in annoyance but continued her Fusion Dance. The two Gems started moving towards each other, completely out of sync and style with each other. Amethyst then grabbed Pearl's arm and pulled her down for a pose. However, it only resulted in her getting hit in the face by one of Pearl's arms while Pearl's head hit the ground.

The two Half-Gems watched as their bodies turned bright, and they attempted to fuse with each other. Their bodies mold and become one. Unfortunately, not even halfway through, their form became unstable before they were forced apart. Their Fusion failed.

Landing on the ground with large thuds, they both sat up.

"So you wanna try that again? With less hitting me in the face this time?" Amethyst asked rhetorically, visibly upset.

"Well, it would have worked if your movements weren't so erratic and formless." Pearl shot back at her.

Amethyst got offended and got in Pearl's face. "So it's all my fault? Ho ho, you totally weren't even trying to sync with my dancing. You should know how I dance by now!" Pearl pushed Amethyst, and they got ready to fight.

While they were doing that, Vergil looked up and noticed. "Wait, why is it suddenly quiet outside?" He asked himself. No longer her, the bird monster.

"STOP!" Steven shouted, getting everyone's attention. "Come on, guys. Please stop fighting. If you can't get along with each other, I might never get to see your awesome fusion powers!" He told them, looking ready to cry.

Hearing him say that, Vergil face-palmed in annoyance. "Why does it feel like I've become the adult in this group?" He thought to himself."

Suddenly, the giant bird monster squawks loudly again.

"And I might get eaten by a giant bird!" Steven added to his sentence.

Vergil walked to him. "More like we might get eaten."

Just then, the giant bird monster broke through the roof and swallowed Steven and Vergil whole.

[STEVEN! VERGIL!] Pearl & Amethyst screamed.

Inside the giant bird, the boys get swallowed into the innards of the giant bird monster. Inside, it is littered with various junk and skeletons and bones of dead animals. The interior walls were encrusted with Gemstones that were encased by bubbles.

"Well, this certainly is a problem." Vergil noted, looking around.

Steven also looked around and found the skull of a dead animal near his leg. Suddenly, they heard a bleating noise and looked to find the goat eating on top of a pile of junk.

"Steven Jr.!" Steven cried out as they ran over to him. "How can you eat at a time like this?" Steven asked before he noticed a beetle in his mouth. Hey, is that the Heaven Beetle?"

The Heaven Beetle resembles a Japanese Rhinoceros Beetle. The Heaven Beetle's femurs are light green, and the lower half of her legs are pine green. Her body is mostly yellow but is topped with a turquoise-colored gemstone surrounded by a white clover-shaped marking. She has a white horn, white antlers, and light green eyes.

"Huh, smart goat." Vergil admitted.

"Let me see it." Steven grabs the beetle and tries to pull it out of the goat's mouth, but it refuses to let go. "Hey, be a good goat and give me the magic bug!"

All of a sudden, a rumbling occurs, causing the junk pile to collapse and Steven and the goat to fall off it. Vergil walked up to him to see if he was alright. Fortunately, Steven was not only unhurt, but he now had possession of the Heaven Beetle. "I got it!" He said happily.

"Great, but it won't mean which until we figure a way out of here." Vergil pointed out.

The goat approaches and attempts to eat it again. "No! B-bad goat!" Steven pushes the goat away with one hand while holding the beetle up with his other hand. "You're no son of mine!"

Vergil then takes the Heaven Beetle and puts it in his pocket to make things easier. "Hey, I know this isn't the best time, but really? Steven Jr.?" He asked.

"What's wrong with Steven Jr.?" Steven asked, not seeing a problem with that name.

"It's just naming your son after yourself; it just feels like you have no imagination." Vergil explained his point.

Suddenly, before they could go any further, a giant arm penetrated the stomach from the ground, frightening Steven and Steven Jr. As they tried to flee, the hand started feeling the ground. Soon, three more arms burst out from the stomach floor. "What's going on?!" Steven asked with fear.

"No, Steven, this is good." Vergil assured him, not worried about what was happening.

"It is?" Steven asked, confused. "How?"

"These arms are—" Before he could go further, one of the arms grabbed Vergil and pulled him out of the stomach.

"Vergil!" Steven called out. Then another arm grabs the goat and pulls him out, too. "Steven Jr.!" Finally, Steven also got grabbed and pulled away.

Outside, a mysterious giant woman pulls Steven, Vergil, and the goat out of the giant bird monster and leaps off. The giant bird monster starts dissolving, revealing several Gem Shards.

The giant woman lands in the lake, carrying Steven and Vergil, and sets the goat safely on the ground. Steven looked up at her with wonder and asked what he was thinking. "Opal?"

Opal has a lean, toned body with two pairs of slender arms. She is very tall, at least twice as tall as Garnet. Her height is partly due to her constantly being on the tip of her toes. Opal has periwinkle skin, a thin, rounded face with a pointed nose and plump lips (traits inherited from Pearl and Amethyst, respectively), baby blue eyes with dark blue pupils, and thick, wavy, off-white hair. Her hair extends slightly past her calves, tied back into a rowdy ponytail by a pale salmon band. Extending from off the ponytail's sides are chin-length bangs resembling Pearl's and two small pigtails in the front tied by pale yellow ties. Her two gemstones are in the same places where Amethyst and Pearl's Gemstones are. Opal had a strapless pastel teal top with a drape in the front and back that went down to her shins, featuring an accented star at the base. She wore these drapes in a similar fashion to Amethyst.

"Yep, that's definitely Opal." Vergil confirmed Steven's thoughts.

Opal looked on as the Gems shards turned into bright lights before transforming into the smaller bird monsters and started attacking Opal. Opal avoided them by backflipping away from them as the birds stabbed into the water. She continued flipping before leaping and sliding down the spiraling passage.

Opal then jumps across the broken pass and lands safely on the main Spire. She then gently puts the boys down.

"Stay low." Opal said in a low but gentle voice.

Opal summons both Amethyst's Whip and Pearl's Spear. She then crosses the two and, in a flash of light, combines them into a large Bow. Pearl's Spear forms the limbs of the Bow, and Amethyst's Whip is used as the string and grip, respectively.

The birds were coming towards them. Holding the Bow with both of her hands, she draws back the Bow, generating an energy arrow, and fires it at the flock of bird monsters.

When the arrow is in the middle of the flock, it explodes in a bright flash of light. This destroys the bird monsters, turning them back into Gem shards, and bubbles every single one of them. Opal then turns back to the two Humans. Steven was staring in awe, while Vergil looked amazed. Opal offers her hand to them. They both take her hand and stand up.

Steven looked at her nervously and asked Vergil. "Uh… Does she… Know who we are?"

Vergil smiled. "Well, of course, she does, watch." He then turned to Opal. "Hey, Opal, anything you want to say to Steven?"

Opal knew what he was referring to and chuckled as she started to sing. "All you wanna do is see me turn into—"

Steven gasped as his eyes lit up. "A giant woman!"

Night fell at the Beach House, and Garnet had already returned. She was now drying her hair when her attention was drawn to the Warp Pad that was activating.

As the light faded, Opal, Vergil, and Steven warp back to the Beach House. "We're back!" Steven exclaimed happily. Opal just stood behind them, slightly posing.

Garnet walked up to them. "The Heaven Beetle."

Opal gasps. "I don't have it." She realized, forgetting about it in all the excitement near the end of the mission, Opal began to glow and deform. She then split back into Amethyst and Pearl. Sending the two Gems flying away from each other and onto the floor.

Pearl immediately sat up and accused the short Gem. "Amethyst! You got distracted!"

"Hey! You were the one getting carried away with all those fancy backflips!" Amethyst argued.

"Wait a sec!" Steven got between them. "It's fine."

"Yeah, he's right." Vergil reaches into his pocket and takes out the Heaven Beetle. "We've got the beetle right here."

Garnet takes the Heaven Beetle, places it in a small terrarium with the Earth Beetle already inside, and bubbles it. "Good job, you two. I also see you helped your teammates fuse."

Amethyst and Pearl stare in surprise at each other. "It was harder than we thought, but all worth it in the end." Vergil said, satisfied by the results of the mission.

"Nice work. You'll be great at fusing one day." Garnet told them before she walked off.

Steven nodded. "Yeah…"

The star iris starts zooming onto Steven when he realizes what Garnet said, and the star iris pulls away.

"Wait! We can do that too?!" Steven asked flabbergasted.

"Of course, we can. We have Gems, too, remember?" Vergil reminded him as though it was obvious.

"Oh yeah, right." Steven replied as if he had just forgotten about that detail.

And that's the chapter. Glad I was able to finish this one without taking too long compared to my other stories. As you've noticed, I skipped some episodes. Well, honestly, I wanted to do a chapter of Steven's Lion, but I just had trouble putting it all together, so I scarped it, and the others, well, they just felt like filler.

Anyway, thanks for reading. Hope you enjoyed. If you want more, then be sure to leave a review. If you like the story, click follow or favorite, and as always, have an awesome day.
