(I enjoyed researching their relationship in this game, and it was fun to watch their dialogue play out, hope I do it justice!)
Prompt:
"Darn! We've lost them again!"
"Cool your horses, big boy. I think I see Espio up ahead." Rouge moved her hand up to try and see farther out, as Knuckles just kicked the ground and started staggering off.
"Ugh, if only we'd been faster… What does that Emerald Detector say?!"
"Would you quit shouting at me? Sheesh, you think you'd learn how to speak to a lady about now." She flipped the device out, putting a hand to her hip. "Hmm?"
"What is it? What's wrong?" Knuckles came up beside her, looking over her shoulder.
She slowly looked up to him, seeing him closer and suddenly getting an idea.
"Hmm… how strange." she moved the device, as he moved his head over her shoulder to try and look at it.
"..Fascinating…" She flung it another way and he moved to try and see it again, coming closer.
"…How peculiar." she kept purposefully moving it away from herself as she leaned her head back, resting it against the crook of his neck and shoulder, before he noticed how close she was and how much he was leaning over.
"Gah!" he fumbled back. "Wha-What.. What are you pulling, Rouge!?" he pumped up his fists, but blinked in confusion, as if surprised by her actions.
"What are you playing!?"
"Oh, quit complaining. It was worth a shot." she looked a bit annoyed, but smiled flirtatiously as she went back to the device.
"I think an emerald's nearby."
"Rouge, Knuckles."
Shadow suddenly entered the scene.
"Ah! Shadow!" Rouge stepped back, seeing him appear, as Knuckles ran forward and stepped slightly ahead of her, as if…
Was he protecting her?
"What do you want, Shadow!? We don't have time for this! I have to find the Master Emerald!"
"And I have a client to please~ Ciao~" Rouge winked, waving a hand to the two, but mostly to Knuckles, and taking off into the air.
"W-what?! Hey! Stupid-! Wait up, Bat girl!" Knuckles took off after her, "You still have the Emerald Detector!"
"Emerald Detector? So I was right. I better catch up to them." Shadow ran off after them.
(they're so cute, omg. When Shadow threatens to ruin the scenes between them I just 'EEEeee~ shipping feels!' lol love triangles~3 I hate them and I love them, teehee~"
