Chapter 7 Prototype

As the school days went on Susan devoted a good percent of her time developing a suit of power armor for herself to give her the physical super strength she needed to get into the hero classes. Connor and the rest of the little friend group helped with her project and encourage their friend to succeed. After a few weeks of hard work and careful labor Susan was ready to give her prototype a test drive and demonstration to the teachers and facility of Sky High.
Principal Thunderclap, Bulldozer the gym teacher, and a few other teachers had a place for demonstration setup on the school football field complete with some cardboard cutouts of criminals, some brick walls, and a few old cars. Susan put on her prototype power armor, which was a big bulky suit of blue and yellow armor with a yellow helmet and stomped onto the field. She saw her friends in the crowd of students watching her and gave them a wave before moving on with the demonstration.
Susan marched through the field smashing brick walls and the cardboard cutouts with ease and then she picked up one of the cars and carried it to one side of the field to the other. The prototype suit was slow moving, but fairly strong. The students and most of the facility were impressed by Susan's prototype and it looked like Susan would get put into the hero classes, but one teacher was opposed to this and that was Bulldozer.
"I think we need to give this suit a battle test." Said Bulldozer.
"Well this prototype wasn't really made for combat." Said Susan.
"I just want to see how powerful it is." Said Bulldozer as he stepped up to the prototype.
Even looked to Principal Thunderclap who gave a nod. Susan and Bulldozer faced each other and locked hands as they began to grapple with one another. The two seemed evenly matched, until Bulldozer pushed Susan back and yanked one of the suit's wires. Susan let out a cry of surprise as her suit began to lose power and Bulldozer easily pushed her and the suit to the ground.
"No fair! You cheated!" Complained Susan.
"Life isn't fair. A super villain would have done the exact same thing to you. You're still green Susan." Said Bulldozer.
"But that was just the prototype and I'll make improvements to my future armors. Doesn't this prove that I can be a super hero?" Said Susan looking at Principal Thunderclap.
"I'm sorry, but until you make a suit that doesn't have flaws in it, you'll still be in the sidekick classes for your own safety." Said Principal Thunderclap.
"Better luck next time girlie." Said Bulldozer with a little smirk before walking away.
"That jerk. I'll show him what I'm capable of." Vowed Susan as she glared at Bulldozer.
Connor and the other friends helped Susan up and remove her armor and said she'll get into the hero classes next time. Susan thanked her friends as she already mentally started making plans for a new armor.
