Sonic and the Team set out for a freezing adventure in the great arctic landscape! Due to all the elements being out of whack from Lyric's 'little' tyranny. Having already found a lead to how to get the next Chaos Crystal, the gang come across a story about a mysterious artifact that can use the 'aurora borealis' lights to guide them to the location they seek!
Along the way, they fight off Eggman who happens to contain the small artifact, a small rectangular panel of some kind, however, they have no idea how to activate it.
"Activate!" Sonic holds it up, waiting for lights to appear but sees nothing. "Iiiiinitiate aurora beam!"
the wind blows.
"…Start?"
"I think it's more complicated than that Sonic, here, let me see it." Tails tries to poke the small squares on the panel, keeping warm in his winter attire as everyone huddles over to his big fluffy tails and tries to curl up in them.
"H-hey!"
"Sorry, Knux. Only room for two." Sonic shrugs, completely wrapped up in one of Tails's tails as Amy clings to the other one, freezing!
"D-d-did you fi-fi-find something?" Amy shivers, pulling the tail closer to her as Tails tightens it for her.
"Oh, sorry. I can't really get a reading on it-"
"Let me try!" Feeling that Sonic and Amy are being unfair, Knuckles takes the device and flicks it, trying to hit it to work it. "Sometimes you just gotta give it a good whack and-" he smacked it on some ice near him, but the ice just slowly dropped and caused a massive avalanche below them.
Luckily… they didn't go down with the thundering snow.
"Nope!" Tails quickly takes it out of Knuckles's hands. "I told you it's scientific!"
"Wait, maybe I just didn't say it cool enough! Let me see it again!" Sonic tries to reach for it, as Knuckles pushes him out of Tails's tails, seizing the opportunity to get warm, and pushes Sonic out.
"H-hey!"
"Well, you moved, now it's my turn!"
As the three boys fought, Amy slowly gets madder and madder, before throwing Tails's tail up and grabbing the device. "THAT'S IT!"
She walks away with it and sighs. "I just want to go home and sunbathe…" she sniffs out, as the heat from her breath triggers the device, and the lights lead the way to the location of the crystal.
"…Ohhh… It was heat!" Tails smiled, and looked to Amy, who slowly turned back to him.
"Yaaay.." she was literally almost frozen from being out of his tails.
For the rest of the walk to the location, Knuckles and Sonic had to bare the cold while Amy was rewarded BOTH tails for her comfort and leisure.
