As the conversation continued, Harmony felt a wave of pure anger wash over her. She clenched her fists so tightly that her knuckles turned white, a physical manifestation of the betrayal she felt deep inside. Each boastful remark from Willow served as a reminder of the vulnerability she had shown in letting people back into her life.
Harmony's thoughts spiraled as she realized that she had been foolish to trust again, especially after having her trust shattered by someone else in the past. The painful truth settled in: another person had betrayed her, and this time, it cut deeper than she had ever imagined.
Harmony's heart raced as she anxiously searched for a way to free herself from the cold, heavy chains that bound her. The dim light flickered above her, casting shadows on the damp surface of the platform. She was completely alone, aware that no one was going to save her. Determined to escape before her captors discovered she was awake, she scanned the metal restraints for any sign of a weak spot.
As she searched for a weak spot in the bindings, the chains rattled loudly, causing her to freeze in place, hoping neither of her captors had heard the noise.
However, her hopes were shattered moments later when she heard footsteps approaching the platform.. She held her breath, praying that her captors hadn't heard the sound. The silence in the room felt suffocating, thick with tension. But her fleeting hope crumbled like dust when she heard the unmistakable sound of footsteps approaching, growing louder with each passing moment. Panic surged through her as she braced herself for whatever would come next.
"Well, well, looks like sleeping beauty is awake, Ethan," Willow sneers as she approaches the platform's edge, enjoying the sight of Harmony in chains and at her mercy. "Looks like we can speed up the process now," She said as she began walking even closer to Harmony, who scooted back to try and put distance between her and her former friend, only to be stopped as Willow stepped on her leg, preventing her from moving
"Now, be good and we can get you ready quickly" She sneers down at Harmony as Ethan approaches, carrying a gaudy sparkly dress that would be the farthest thing that Harmony would pick for her wedding.
Ethan carefully handed the ugly wedding dress to Willow, its shimmering fabric overdone with multi-colored gemstones and glitter as the dim light made the dress look like a disco ball.
With a smirk, he turned to Harmony, his eyes gleaming with triumph. "I'll leave you two ladies to it," he said, his tone smug. "It's considered bad luck to see the bride in her dress before the wedding, after all." He gave Harmony a wink, the kind that he thought made him look attractive but only served to make Harmony sick to her stomach., before turning on his heel and striding away, leaving the two women to prepare Harmony for her upcoming wedding.
"No, I will never marry you Ethan!" She shouts, trying to squirm away from Willow who undid the chains long enough to force the dress over Harmony's head before reattaching the chains to the pole.
"Stop struggling! You don't get a choice in this! So long as you're around Floyd can't notice me! So you have to marry Ethan! Be grateful that someone wants you!" Willow snarls down at Harmony before a mocking smile crawls across her face "After all who would want a troll who pretends to have color?" She whispers at Harmony
Harmony freezes, looking up at Willow with wide eyes as she was taken aback at the fact she knew her secret
"Oh don't act so shocked, you weren't exactly as sneaky about it as you thought. I mean you avoided getting wet at all costs, you happened to have paint that not only looked super similar to your real color, but you also forgot to hide your contact case in your dressing room. As I told you no one would want a troll that is as ugly as you. So be grateful that Ethan even wants you" She mocks Harmony as she tugs the dress into place, forcing Harmony to look the part as she begins to roughly force Harmony's hair up into a ponytail.
Harmony sat in stunned silence, her heart racing as a wave of betrayal washed over her. It felt as if the world around her had shifted, leaving her feeling like a stranger in her own skin. The garment she wore felt suffocating as she clenched her fists around the fabric.
"Why?" she finally managed to ask, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and confusion. Her eyes locked onto Willow's, searching for some semblance of the friendship they had shared. "What did I ever do to you?" she demanded, desperation creeping into her tone as she sought answers for the painful betrayal that cut to the core of her trust.
Willow's lips curl into a mocking grin as she jerks Harmony closer, their faces now mere inches apart. "The fact that you have to ask that question just shows how little you truly know," she sneers down at the other woman.
Willow's eyes narrow, brimming with a mixture of resentment and twisted pride. "You have no idea what it's like to love someone so deeply, only to watch them act like you don't even exist. I LOVE Floyd!" she exclaims, her voice rising in both volume and intensity.
Willow's fingers dig into Harmony's arm as she continues her tirade. "I was there for him every step of the way. I helped him start his career; I made sure no distractions kept him from achieving his dream. You were nothing more than a meaningless distraction that threatened to pull him away from his true purpose!" The longer Willow speaks, the more unhinged her tone becomes, her words spilling out in a manic, almost frenzied manner.
Willow exploded with emotion, cutting Harmony off before she had a chance to utter a word. "You had it all, and you didn't even appreciate how fortunate you truly were!" she exclaimed, her voice laced with bitterness.
"You were always so wrapped up in your sadness, moping around like the world was against you. Look at what you had: fame, adoring fans who would do anything for you, and a handsome boyfriend who stuck by your side despite how worthless you are!
But instead of valuing any of it, all you focused on was Floyd and how he finally saw how much better off he was without you!" Willow's words dripped with disdain as she spat them out, her eyes flashing with fierce anger and disappointment.
Willow stepped back, a self-satisfied smirk playing at the corners of her lips as she caught sight of the tears cascading down Harmony's cheeks. "He will NEVER love you as deeply as he loves me. We were destined to be together," she taunted, her voice dripping with condescension.
"Whatever sweet nothings he whispered to you were nothing but pity. Enjoy your future as Ethan's wife; he's just your type," she sneered, relishing the hurt she was inflicting.
With that, Willow turned on her heel and sauntered away, leaving Harmony standing alone, her heart racing and thoughts spiraling into a dark abyss of doubt and despair.
Harmony's mind was a whirlwind of confusion as she replayed their moments together. Every word, every touch, every kiss felt like a distant memory now. She couldn't help but wonder if it had all been a facade, if his sweet words were just an act to manipulate her.
Her heart wanted to believe it was real, but her mind couldn't shake off the doubts that crept in.
As she thought back on their relationship, she couldn't help but question everything. Did Floyd truly love her, or was it all an act? The doubts swirled in her mind, and she couldn't escape the possibility that Willow had been right from the beginning.
Maybe Floyd didn't leave because he wanted to, but because deep down he felt like she wasn't good enough for him. Was she holding him back from his true potential? These thoughts weighed heavily on her, causing her to question what was real and what was pretend.
