Two Roughs Shining like Gold
Emerald is seen sitting at the doorstep of the front door being all alone at the moment because of how her dad just reacted to her job being a Griffon wrangling like leaving the table in anger.
"Hey sis, you doing okay?" Donnie asked as he and Arkayna came out to see her.
"Donnie, the reason I was embarrassed to come here was because of our big-city friends would react to the hole-of-a-home we grew up on. But it looks like dad was the one embarrassed of me." Emerald stated sadly.
"Dad blowing a fuss is nothing new, but I bet my shell that he'd be amazes of how much of an inventor you are." Donnie believed.
"Only when I'm assisting you." Emerald pointed out.
"But you're still good with gears and magic techs all on your own. You just need to show your dad that. Go talk to him." Arkayna advised.
"Not sure you notice, but my dad's not big on conversationalist." Emerald informed.
"That doesn't stop any of us from talking to him and he may not seem like it, but he is a good listener whenever we need to talk about something." Donnie mentioned.
"You should also feel glad that you still have your parents to talk to, I would give anything to talk to my parents again." Arkayna stated.
"I'm also sure that Master Splinter would give you some wisdom about talking things out with those closest to you." Arkayna added.
Emerald did a little thinking on what Arkayna just said giving it some thought about just going up to her dad and talk things out, maybe it'll be worth a try to reconnect with him too.
(Deep in the Mine of Rudix Hollow)
The scene shows of skeleton soldiers digging and drilling through the rocky walls of the mine with the terror of General Dreadbane leading the sight, along with Rahzar though he's looking a little impatient.
"This is taking forever; all we've been finding are titanium." Rahzar growled as he glares at one skeleton soldier who was about to approach them with titanium only to back away from the glare.
"Indeed, we have to find the cavern where the solaryite is. With the power of the ore, even the Mysticons will tremble in fear." Dreadbane smirked.
"But didn't we learn that only the dwarves know of its true location?" Rahzar recalled.
"Then I suppose we'll need a dwarf." Dreadbane suggested an idea.
"But sirs, they guard the location of the Heart of Gold with their lives." One skeleton soldier informed.
"I propose I got get us one to test the willpower when one's loved ones are put in serious danger?" Rahzar smirked with his claws looking extra sharp.
"A grand idea, Rahzar. But be sure not to hurt the dwarf you bring back. We'll one on… good condition to lead us to the solaryite." Dreadbane advised.
"Don't worry, the mouth will still be talking." Rahzar promised before ran toward the exit to start his dwarf hunting.
(Goldenbraid Home, Basement)
The rain comes down a little harder now with some thundering sounds on the outside of the house while inside, Malachite is working on a machine turning a bolt.
"Good, he's working on something. That should give you two plenty of reasons to talk to each other." Donnie whispered to Emerald.
"Okay, I'm doing this!" Emerald determined as she goes in while Donnie watches.
"Hey, dad." Emerald greeted, getting the old dwarf's attention.
"Huh, I thought dragons were hoarders." Emerald chuckled and looked to see the machine her dad is working on.
"Reinforcing the jacks to protect the mines against the tremors? Try a little grease." Emerald suggested, hoping this conversation would start off well.
Malachite just made some coughing and grunting noise from this mouth as he drops the wrench and lifts the jack up with Emerald helping a little to keep it steady.
"So, huh… Hey, where's my old mech? It still amazes me that we took first place at that Battle Fair. The three of us working on it together on the mech giving it enchanted hydraulics, solaryite drill tip. She was a beast." Emerald smiled of the memory.
Malachite just grunts again, though it sounded softer and a small smile form from under his bread and mustache that Emerald was able to notice.
"So, three-quarter incher shoulder does the trick." Emerald said about the jack machine.
"It was a good thing Donnie got us some new parts for the coupler otherwise it would've failed we ended up taking second place. Glad that didn't happen." Emerald mentioned.
"By the Hammer of Harmon! Work you blasted piece of junk!" Malachite shouted in rage and hitting the jack machine until it started working.
"Hey-hey, he speaks!" Emerald smiled, finally hearing her dad's voice again.
"I sold the mech for scrap… After you two left." Malachite revealed making Emerald sad.
"Look dad, I know you didn't like how we just left for the city and the job I took to go with Donnie. But I've been really great with the inventing alongside him, I even made a rocket-punch jet drill that was based on the drill from my old mech. It even has a guiding system to go where I want it to drill through the ground." Emerald explained about her one drill she made.
"…Does it do well for mining?" Malachite asked.
"Not yet, I just need to add a little more power for it to drill through even titanium and add the emergency break, can't be too careful, with the big math from Donnie and it's good to go." Emerald answered.
"Huh, sounds like you got some other inventing ideas like your brother, as always." Malachite commented.
"Well, the machines Donnie does have always been my inspiration when I'm not doing other teenage girl stuff." Emerald shrugged.
"Come to think of it, he was an inspiration for the both of us." Emerald stated.
"And yet you still ended up being a griffon wrangler." Malachite glared a bit before turning around.
"You know, dad. I never wanted to come home because of how embarrassing it would be with mom, the little brothers, and your grunting. My friends being from the big city and all." Emerald confessed making Malachite look at her shock.
"But Donnie convinced me to come because he believes it was time, we start feeling like a family again so that we would never lose connections with each other. Like putting in the right wires for a mech." Emerald smiled a little.
"Sounds like he's gotten wiser too." Malachite surprised.
"You'd be surprised of how much we learned from the city, and from each other along with our new friends." Donnie said as he walks up to them.
"Should've known you'd be watching us." Malachite sighed.
"Dad, we just want you to know that we never stop thinking about the family including you. You could say the inventions we make help us remember our home." Donnie stated.
This made Malachite happy as he gazes onto his two older children, one being his blood daughter and the other being a humanoid turtle that he and his wife found at their doorstep that night.
"Malachite! Are you down here!" One old dwarf miner called out as he enters the mine.
"I'm here, the jack is all fixed." Malachite responded as he walks up, but accidentally hit his leg on the toolbox.
"By the Hammer of Harmond!" Malachite shouted.
"You okay, dad? Maybe you should that looked." Donnie advised.
"I'm fine, just need to get this to the mine. Be back soon." Malachite said as he and the other miner carried the jack machine away.
"Donnie, Emerald… Do you think we can talk about that little drill some more when I get back?" Malachite asked.
Emerald and Donnie smile as they look at each other for a second before looking back at their dad.
"We would love to." Emerald nodded.
Malachite left the mine to put in the jack machine as the other Mysticons are with Citrine and the two little boys.
"Excellent technique, you two. My mother taught me how to carve solaryite when I was your age." Citrine smiled proudly while Leo and Arkayna are carving letters on two solaryite jewels, but they ended up breaking them.
"Oh bugbears, I'm sorry!" Arkayna apologized, then looks a little sad.
"You're still thinking about dinner?" Leo asked.
"Yeah, just worried that I may have messed up for Donnie and Emerald." Arkayna said.
"Arkayna, you couldn't have known. Malachite just had a hard time accepting our two oldest kids moving away." Citrine said.
"Hey, check up the dorky photo of our two nerds." Raph showed them the picture of Emerald and Donnie on Malachite's shoulder.
"I think they were pretty cute back then" Zarya commented.
"Oh my goblin, they were adorable!" Arkayna smiled.
"Em and her father used to be so close, and Donnie would always try to keep them from growing apart. But it broke his heart when they moved to the city." Citrine explained.
"If I grew up here, I'd never want to leave." Zarya stated.
"Ha! I knew you like this place." Raph smirked.
"What? Shut up, the tremors are annoying and there's the soup" Zarya tried to complain as a cover up, but Citrine saw right through that and just hugs her.
"He had big plans for the family business. "Malachite and the Jewel-Turtle Duo"." Citrine mentioned.
"That's not a bad name." Leo impressed.
"Yeah, dad put some thought into the name." Donnie said as he and Emerald walked up to them.
"Hey mom, dad and I finally talked." Emerald announced.
"Really?" Citrine asked and she nods.
"That's wonderful! Now maybe he'll finally respond to those voice messages he's been hearing whenever you tried to call him." Citrine smiled happy.
"Wait, he's been listening to our messages?" Emerald asked surprise.
"Oh yes, but the man was too nervous to respond." Citrine revealed surprising the two.
Meanwhile, the little dwarf twins were showing off their burping skills to Mikey and Piper who were a little impress.
"But amazes of this chick's burping." Mikey gestured to Piper who just unleash a powerful burp that seem to have shaken the house.
"Oh no, I think I broke the valley! I'm sorry!" Piper apologized whispering.
"No, it's another tremor." Citrine assured, but then heard the alarm sound.
"There's trouble in the mines! You all stay here!" Citrine said as she went out to the mines.
"Dad!" Emerald and Donnie gasped.
"It's magic hour!" Leo and Arkayna said, and they all transform into their Mysticon forms.
(Mine Tunnel)
Malachite and his friend were trying to get out of the mine with all the shaking then one large rock was about to fall on their heads, but Mysticon Ranger was able to save them with her arrow and the friend got out though Malachite was feeling a little headache.
"Go, go, get to safety!" Mysticon Mountain Ninja said as he and Mysticon Knight are outside for crowd control.
"Come on, this place is collapsing!" Mysticon Knight called out.
But suddenly the rocks fell in front of them blocking the entrance and trapping the other Mysticons with Malachite still inside.
"Is there a backdoor?" Mysticon Ranger asked, but Malachite shook his head for no.
Then they felt more shaking within the cave, but the two leaders notice something odd about this shaking.
"This isn't a tremor." Mysticon Wind Ninja realized and suddenly something fast snatch up Malachite and Mysticon Striker.
"Sis!" Mysticon Forest Ninja gasped.
"The Mysticons, what an unpleasant surprise." Rahzar glared smiling.
"Rahzar? What are you doing here?" Mysticon Dragon Mage asked.
"We're after something that this dwarf is going to help us find and you won't be alive to stop us!" Rahzar threw three shurikens at the jack machines before making his escape.
"Get back here!" Mysticon Fire Mage tried to after them, but more rocks came in trapping the five Mysticons.
(With Donnie and Emerald)
"Donnie, why are we back here when you should be finding a way to get in the mines to save our friends and dad!" Emerald reminded him.
"Which is why we're getting ourselves a drill, a drill that dad didn't throw away." Donnie ran to a blanket taking it off showing the mech that Emerald used in that competition.
"My old mech? He didn't throw it away." Emerald shocked to see this, and she saw the drill that it has the solaryite drill, which is what they'll need to get in.
"Guess it was too precious to him to throw it away since we made it together." Donnie smiled.
"Now, let's get to work!" Donnie said twirling a wrench in his hand. Emerald nods with twirling a hammer in her hand.
(With Dreadbane and Rahzar)
"I know how stubborn you dwarves can be, especially when it comes to the location of the sacred Heart of Gold." Dreadbane glared down at Malachite who is being held up on a wall.
"Which is why my vicious dog friend here has other ways of convincing you to talk." Dreadbane smirked and gesturing the dwarf to look at his drill.
Malachite gasp in horror to see Rahzar holding the unconscious Mysticon Strike very close to the drill that is still spinning and getting very close to the drill.
"Let see how you noble you can be when it's not your life on the line." Rahzar said.
"No!" Malachite screamed struggling to break free as Striker just woke up seeing the drill very close to her stomach.
"Stop! I'll show you the way." Malachite surrendered.
"Excellent." Dreadbane smirked.
With no other choice, Malachite showed the villains through the path of how to find solaryite in order to keep Mysticon Striker alive and sometime later, they arrived at the carven.
"Behold…" Dreadbane smiled.
"Solaryite!" Rahzar cut in stealing his line.
"Hey, I was going to say that!" Dreadbane complained.
"Doesn't matter, we will take all this precious material and destroy the valley!" Rahzar declared which Dreadbane can agree on and Malachite gasp of this.
(With Other Mysticons)
"We have go after them!" Raph tried to break through with his blade-gauntlets but does nothing.
"We can't, not unless we have a drill with us." Leo pointed out.
But suddenly there is another shaken going on as they brace themselves only for a big mech suit to come into the cavern with Donnie right behind her.
"Did someone order a drill?" Donnie asked.
(Solaryite Cavern)
The skeleton soldiers are drilling and digging up all the solaryite they can take which is also causing the cavern to crack that is going to collapse if this keeps up, which brings an idea to Rahzar.
"I think it's time for you to enjoy this funeral under your home." Rahzar decided to end the dwarf's life.
However, Rahzar never got the chance to swing down his claws when he was suddenly blasted away by the mech of the Mysticon Knight.
"This is what you for messing with dwarves." Mysticon Knight angered.
"Attack!" Mysticon Mountain Ninja charged attacking Dreadbane knocking him away.
Rahzar charges at Knight to attack though the mech is too tough to leave a scratch and she punches him away, sliding right next to Dreadbane.
"We'll take what we can." Rahzaro threw a finger bone claw as a kunai to stab the control of the drill making it go for the column of the cavern.
"You haven't seen the last of us!" Rahzar declared before throwing a smoke bomb.
"If that hit the column, the whole valley will fall!" Knight gasped.
"We need to get it online." Mountain Ninja and Malachite said at the same time, surprising the old dwarf, the two tech geniuses Mysticons jumped into the drill.
"Red wire to the capacitor." Knight plugged in the red wire.
"Blue to the resistor." Mountain Ninja plugged in the blue wire.
"Green to the magi board, and we're good to go." They said together plugging in the last wire but seems to be working.
"By the Hammer of Harmon! Work you Work you blasted piece of junk!" Knight and Mountain Ninja shouted as they smack on the control panel.
"Em? Donnie?" Malachite shocked as he caught up to them on the drill vehicle.
The drill's online system came on and they stopped the drill on time.
"Hey, dad." Emerald greeted as she and Donnie are nervous of their identity being found out by their dad who smiles at them.
"Talk about drilling it close." Mikey punned causing the others to groan and a smack on the head by Raph.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Emerald was able to reconnect with her dad though I doubt having hers and Donnie's secret identity as the Mysticons wasn't what she had in mind, but it worked as they were able to save the valley from the drilling operation of Dreadbane and Rahzar with a mech suit!
