~5 months later~

Wynonna's P.O.V.

I rolled over and turned my alarm off before dropping my head back down on the pillow. Within minutes of turning off my alarm there was a knock on my door. I groaned before pushing my duvet aside and sitting on the edge of my bed
"Yeah" the door slid open and M'gann walked in. The door closed behind her and she said
"Hey" She sheepishly sat down beside me as I replied
"Hey, you alright?" She nodded and said
"Yeah…" I cut her off by taking hold of her hand and saying
"You've never been able to lie to me" Almost immediately tears sprung to her eyes. I wasted no time in pulling her into a hug as I said
"I'm going to miss you too. This next year is going to fly by and I'll only be a phone call or a Zeta tube away, Okay" I felt her nod against my shoulder.
I had to push my tears down as I pulled away and said
"Now come on, don't get upset. Me, you, Arty, Zatanna and Raquel we're still going out for the day right?" She wiped her eyes and said
"Well, Me, you and Artemis are. Zatanna and Raquel have had something come up. They're going to pop by later though to say bye"
"Okay then…" I hesitated for a second before pulling M'gann back into a hug and saying
"You know what, I have some goodbye stuff that I wanted to say to each of you and I was going to save it until later but can I say it to you now?"
"Of course you can, Wynonna"
I took a breath and composed myself before pulling out of the hug. I tightly took her hands in mine before saying
"M'gann I know we've only known each other for just under a year but you are so much more to me than a friend, you're my sister and I love you so so much" her eyes glazed over as she tightened her grip on my hands before saying
"I love you too, my sister. You've shown me what it means to accept yourself. This next year is going to be incredibly hard but I know it's what you need to do. Like you said, if I need you or you need me, you are only a phone call or a Zeta tube away" she wiped a tear off my cheek as I said
"I love you" she pulled me into a bone crushing hug and said
"I love you too"
5 hours later...
Artemis, M'gann and I have just got back after a day of shopping. We didn't Zeta in or out of the cave, instead we just walked in the front door. As we walked into the cave I said
"Right, I'm going to dump my stuff in my room. I'll catch you up" The pair past me as Artemis said
"Alright, don't be long" I didn't reply as I proceeded down to my room. I dumped my stuff in my room and freshened up before going to rejoin the others in the lounge.
I approached the lounge but the lights were off for some reason.
"Guys…" I walked in and reached out for the lightswitch. When I turned it on I was covered in confetti and flinched as the team yelled
"SURPRISE!" I then got a clear look at the room. There were balloons, streamers, Goodbye and goodluck banners scattered around the place. I took a second to compose myself before saying
"Wh...What's all this?" Dick folded his arms and said
"You didn't really think we'd let you go off to Japan without a party did you?" I smiled and said
"Honestly you guys are the best. Thanks for all of this but…" I looked at M'gann and continued
"if I gonna do this, I'd better keep going"
"Ok"
"Ok. Artemis?" she looked over and said
"Yeah?"
"Can you come here with me for a minute?"
"Sure" I proceeded to walk out of the room with Artemis right behind me.
We entered a room away from the living room and as I sat down on a chair I said
"Arty... Okay... I've gotta... just say what it is I'm gonna say…" She sat down beside me and said
"All these amazing things that have happened to me in the last few months, I would have imagined them without you there. No-one has been more like a sister to me…" She cut me off by grabbing my hands and saying
"I know what you mean. You're like a sister to me too" tears fell down my cheeks as I said
"I don't know what I'm gonna do without you…" Tears sprung to her eyes as she said
"You're the best friend I ever had"
Dicks P.O.V.~ 3 hours later
Wynonna has made her way through the team one by one and is currently talking to Wally making me the last person she needs to speak to. As I sat down on the couch, Kaldur said
"So my friend, It seems you're next. Are you ready?" I ran my hand through my hair and said
"I don't think so" Artemis then said
"Oh, you're definitely not. I haven't cried like that in years" I sat back and said
"God! I can't believe she saved me for last…" I looked towards the door and said
"Why are they taking so long?" Connor then said
"I don't know" Just as he said that Wally and Wynonna entered the room. It was obvious that the pair had been crying. As Wally gave her a hug, I muttered
"Okay, here we go…"
Wynonna and Wally then rejoined us as Wynonna said
"Oh…" she placed her hand on my back as she continued
"Well...
"Yeah…" she hesitated before saying
"I think I'm gonna call it a night" she took my hand off my back and began backing away to the door.
"Huh?" She didn't acknowledge me as she went onto say
"Oh, you guys. This was an amazing night. Thank you so much. I love you… but I'm gonna call it a night, big day tomorrow" after saying that she swiftly made her way out of the room.
Wynonna's P.O.V.~ 20 minutes later
Dick suddenly walked into my room saying
"I don't get a goodbye?" I looked around and said
"What?" He was obviously angry
"Everyone gets a goodbye but me? What have I got to do to get a goodbye, huh? Be best friends with you? Uh, bring you back from a coma? Be there for you when you were struggling? Oh wait a minute, wait a minute, I did all those things"
"Dick…" He cut me off by saying
"Oh no, maybe it's me, I'm just not giving you enough credit. Uh, I mean it is difficult to say goodbye to seven people. Uh, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, goodbye, good... (makes choking noises) IT'S PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE. You know what? After all we've been through, I can't believe this is how you want to leave things between us. Have a good time in Japan". He turned and left my room leaving me in shock...
30 minutes later I walked into Dicks room whilst saying
"You really think I didn't say goodbye to you because I don't care?" He looked around and said
"That's what it seemed like"
"I cannot believe that after all these years, you do not know ONE thing about me" he stood up and said
"Fine, then why didn't you say something?" I shoved him slightly whilst yelling
"Because it is too damn hard Dick! I can't even begin to explain to you how much I'm gonna miss you. When I think about not seeing you every day, it makes me not want to go... Okay, so if you think that I didn't say goodbye to you because you don't mean as much to me as everybody else, you're wrong. It's because you mean more to me. So there, all right, there's your goodbye…" I turned to leave the room only to have him say
"Nonna!" I spun around and said
"What?"
"You keep, you keep... You can't…"
"WHAT?" He walked over to me and placed his hands either side of my face before he started to kiss me passionately. After a while I pulled back and took a step away from him. I thought for a moment before I grabbed his shirt and pulled him in for another kiss only this time it was more passionate. It wasn't until my back connected with the wall that I realised just how much I've been wanting this to happen. And judging by his 'reaction' he's been feeling the same. Almost as if we've both been craving for this to happen for a long time…
~The next day~

Rolling over in bed I turned the alarm off before detaching the arms from around my waist and untangling myself from the sheets. Completely ignoring Dick in the bed beside me, and sitting on the edge of the bed. I decided to sleep in a bit today knowing I had some time before Dinah would arrive to take me to the airport. I ran my hands across my face before looking at the photo of the team (Including Roy and Raquel ) on my bedside cabinet. I then looked around as the body beside me shifted. I was met by ocean blue eyes as I smiled and muttered
"Today's the day" Dick grabbed my hand and said
"Today's the day"
~6 months later~
Mount Justice 10th December 18:15 EDT
Dicks P.O.V.
It's still hard to believe that Nonna has been gone for 6 months. I speak to her most nights either before or after patrol. I don't really talk to Z about it because I know she's jealous of how close I am to Nonna. It still feels weird Nonna not being at the cave everyday when I get there after school, it just became routine, you know. I'm not gonna lie but I haven't told Z that Wynonna and I actually slept together before I slept with her. It's a lingering thought at the back of my mind...
Anyway, the team haven't had a mission for a few days so we opted for just a chill hang out night at the cave. We started the night by having a chinese takeaway; we ordered enough food to not only feed Wally's super metabolism but we've got enough to have in the morning for breakfast. Due to it being a Friday night, those of us that don't actually live at the cave are spending the weekend here. I've been trying to spend as much time as possible away from Wayne manor, I'm either here, at school, at Wallys or at Barbras. Bruce has been incredibly distant since the events on New years eve. Although thinking about most of the league has been distant since that day.
Anyway, after we ate we sat down in front of the TV and just began channel hopping. Eventually we found a film to watch but about half way through when we weren't paying attention to the film a breaking story bulletin flashed up.
"We interrupt this programme to bring you a breaking news story" all our attention was brought back to the TV as it switched over to a newsroom.
"Good Evening, I come to you tonight with some devastating news. An 800 foot wave has just struck the coastal city of Yokohama in Japan. It is unclear just how many people have been injured or in fact, killed but the following footage you are about to see was streamed on social media just moments before the wave hit the shore…" I paused the TV just before the video played. M'Gann broke the silence
"Wynonna is in the Japan" I sealed the lump in my throat before saying
"I spoke to her last night..." Z lifted her head off my chest and said
"Wait you told me you were with Wally last night" Wally then spoke
"No h…" I cleared my throat and said
"Anyway, more pressing matters" I proceeded to press play…
Screams could be heard through the shaky video. The person recording was running up a flight of stairs with hundreds of other people. Once on the roof the camera was turned and we got the first look of the wave. It towered over most buildings as it surged towards the shore. Thanks to subtitles we could see what was being said
"Oh my god! Oh my god!" However just before the water hit the shore an all too familiar red electrical barrier blocked the water…
Upon seeing the barrier M'gann turned her face away from the TV and into Connors chest as he wrapped his arms around her. Artemis tightened her grip on Wallys hand and Zatanna gripped onto my arm and leant her head against my shoulder.
It only took a couple of minutes but the barrier began to crack. Water burst through the cracks as more and more appeared. Within moments of the first crack, the entire barrier broke. Water crashed onto the shore and destroyed almost everything in its path. The person who was recording suddenly dropped to the concrete as the water rocked the building he was on. The video then cut out….
Once the video ended I turned the TV off. As I put the remote down Artemis got up and said
"Well what are we waiting for? Let's get in the Bioship and get out there!" I replied with a mutter
"We can't"
"Why the hell not!" Wally took one look at me before looking back at Artemis and saying
"Babe, anytime now the JL are gonna contact us and order us to stay away from Japan" she looked at him and said
"And since when do we do what they say?! It's Wynonna" He stood up and said
"We all know it's Wynonna but we can't go looking for her because we're too close to her. In the same way that Doctors can't treat their families. Can you tell me with your hand on your heart that if we go out there you wouldn't be looking for Wynonna?" she didn't reply, instead a tear fell down her cheek as he pulled her into a hug. As he hugged her our comms beeped
"Team, by now you would have seen the news report on Japan but you are NOT, I repeat NOT to go looking. Do I make myself clear?" At first no one responded to Batman.
"Robin! Do I make myself clear!" I hesitated before saying
"Crystal clear"
Once I didn't get a response from Bats, M'gann said
"So what now?" Kaludur then said
"We wait" I replied
"No"
"I'm sorry"
"No!" I stood up and pulled my arm out of Zatanna's grip. As I took my phone out of my pocket Zatanna said
"What are you doing? We were told not to get involved" I briefly looked up and said
"No. Bats told us to look for her. He didn't tell us not to get involved" Wally looked at me and said
"If you're gonna call who I think you're gonna call…" I cut him off by saying
"I know. But it's the only thing I can think of!" He just nodded his head as I pressed call.
After a couple of rings he answered the phone
"I've just seen it..." I cut him off by saying
"Good. Bats has ordered us to stay away. We need you to go look for her"
"I'm one step ahead of you. I'm en route to Japan with Oliver and Dinah. We're meeting up with the other leaguers on the way"
"Bring her home Roy. Whatever you find, you bring her home!...
