World: Classic Sonic (Genesis era)
Couple: Sonamy (SonicxAmy)
Summary: What if Amy thinks she's Sonic's girlfriend… because of a misunderstanding?
"That was fun!" Amy cried out, hoping down a rock as she followed her darling hero, who turned to her, smiling calmly back.
"Watch your step." he leaped off the rocky steps and waited for her below, tapping his foot in his impatience.
"Hehe~ W-woah!" she slipped on a slippery piece of moss on one of the rocks, as Sonic put a hand up to his eyes, trying to see through the sunny day.
Seeing her tumbling, he freaked out and quickly turned serious, running to catch her.
"Got'cha!" He jumped with a bounce in his step and caught her, landing on a few branches on his decent down, and then safely made his way to the ground. "You're kinda a clumsy one, aren't ya?" he asked, ratherly bluntly.
She hid her face, blinking up at him.
As he raced her over to a nearby cliff, he set her down and waved a goodbye, about to head out.
"Wait!" she reached out, grabbing his arm.
"Huh?"
"D..Don't you want to hang out with me some more?" She swayed her body cutely, looking down and blushing, putting a hand up to the side of her face.
He blinked his eyes, and scratched his nose. "How long is that gonna take?"
"OHH!" she threw the hand on her cheek down, upset by his comment. "You're suppose to want to hang out with me!"
"…I am?" Sonic folded his arms, confused and sweat dropping at how awkward this conversation just turned.
He sighed, "Look, kid… I gotta friend whose missing me so-"
She suddenly moved right up to his face.
"U-wah-ah-ah-ah!" He wagged his arms around, mortified at her actions. "W-what are you doing?!"
She stared him down, "MMmmm… Aren't I your friend too?" She blinked, and suddenly her eyes were sparkling like solar systems.
His face grew even more horrified, and he gulped and stepped back, waving his arms out.
"O-of course…. You're my only girl friend."
Suddenly, her eyes lit up even more, she blushed, and turned away, giggling like an idiot.
"Oh Sonic! You're so bold!" she twirled, and then held his hand with both her own, as he sweated even more.
"Uhh…" He was glad she was happy, but wasn't sure why so happy…
"Sooooniiicc!" Tails called from a distance.
"Ah! Be right there!" He looked back to her after crying out over his shoulder back to Tails. "Gotta go!" he dashed off, removing his hand from her hold.
"Ah! Ohhh… hehe~ His only girlfriend, eh~ Teehee~ And his last!" she posed a moment, opening her hand out. "What? A priceless ring? For ME!? OH SONIC~" she swooned, lifting a leg up. "Yes! I accept! I mean, silly me, hehe~ I do!~3″ she lunged forward, as if reaching out to hug something invisible around the neck and made a kissy face.
Tails waved Sonic down, as he came up next to him. "Hey, where were you?"
"No where." Sonic stopped to state, and then walked on towards the plane.
Tails made a sad face, "Aw… why won't you tell me?"
"I was with a friend." Sonic stated.
Tails gasped, "Wha-a-a-at!? You have another friend besides me!? I.. I didn't know that… what's his name?" Tails flew after him, as he shrugged.
"Her name's Amy."
Tails looked frazzled, his hair sticking on end. "E-e-eee-ee! A girl!?" he cried out.
"Em-hmm." Sonic picked up a flower, smelling it and smiling, before turning to Tails. "A pretty girl." he winked.
— years later. (World Change: AU (for humor's sake)
"So… when you said 'girlfriend'…" Amy was chibi-tearing up, slouching down, looking defeated as she was sitting down.
Sonic looked really guilty, looking down at her, his ears bent back, realizing if he said anymore, it could break her heart.
"…With a space." she narrowed her eyes, squinting.
"….Gotta go!" Sonic fidgeted, before speeding off, smiling a goofy grin, "At least… back then it did!"
