potatoes-tomatoes asked:
Pssst, can you whip up a little modern!sonamy for me? I'll leave the story or mood or Anything to whatever ya like, really! :D
You mean the original Sonamy? The one that started it all? The one that's pretty much the most hinted at of all the SEGA couples since Amy was introduced into the Sonic universe?
Yeah, I think I can whip something up. lol XD
Prompt:
Amy was running after a butterfly in the fields where Sonic was under a tree, arms back behind his head, one leg up over the other, and seeming to just relax with his head down and eyes closed.
He lifted his head up a moment to gently raise his eyelids and look at Amy, seeing her silly but cute behavior at playing in the field of flowers, as she took a moment to pout at not being speedy enough to get it.
"Heh." he chuckled, adjusting himself and getting a hand out, putting his pinkie finger in his ear to itch inside it.
"Sooonic~" Amy called out, cupping her hands over her mouth to make the sound travel better.
"Hmm?" Sonic's ear twitched a bit when he pulled his finger out and returned it to being behind his head. One eye opened, as he seemed to be a bit curious as to why she was calling him.
"Ohh… You could help me catch it, you know… instead of sitting over there and looking bored as anything." she turned her head, pouting and sighed, seeing as he wasn't really 'engaging' himself in the fun with her.
To be honest, he didn't really consider this 'fun', but it made her happy, and seeing her jump and flail around after a little butterfly was enjoyable enough to make him smile at how peaceful everything was. Don't get him wrong, he liked excitement, but these moments were nice too…
He lowered his eyelid back down and leaned his head up, responding. "You're just not using the right approach. Be the wind, Amy." he motioned his hand up lazily, "Be the wind."
"Ohhh~ Now you're just ignoring me!" She seemed upset by his gesture, and pushed her arms down in front of her, her hands in tight fists, as she complained.
She sighed and saw the butterfly flutter to a leaf, and started to get excited, slowly tip-toeing to it.
Sonic's ear twitched when he couldn't hear anything, and opened his eyes lazily to see what she was doing. "Hmm..?"
He rolled his eyes, and smiled a little as if knowing something she didn't. He looked up to the side and shook his head, before closing his eyes again and stating, "You'll never catch it if you do that."
She leered over to him, "Quiet you." she mumbled, and stuck her tongue out to the side, reaching for the butterfly. "Got'cha! Ohh…" she pounced but her hands weren't quick enough as it fluttered away.
She watched it go, saddened by it's departure as she frowned, and sighed sorrowfully. "You were right…" she whined out weakly. "But what was I doing wrong? How would you have-" she turned around before a big 'woosh' of wind whipped by her, making her hold down her head band and dress. "H-hey! Sonic! Soooniccc!" she ran a bit after the blue streak before it was gone.
She slowly lost her momentum as she looked out over the field, seeing the streak fade from sight after a moment's blink. "…He… he just left me here..? All… All alone?" she didn't want to believe that he'd just abandon her because he grew bored of her silliness.
She waited a moment, still having hope that he wasn't truly like that, before another blast of wind ran by her as Sonic stopped himself by skidding a little on the ground, before looking up to her with something in his hands, cupped lightly and holding it gently.
"Some things don't like to be caught." Sonic stated, walking over to her as her face lit up, seeing he didn't leave.
"Sonic! You came-"
"Ah-ah-ah!" Sonic held up a finger, wiggling it to stop her as she ran up to him, and then looked down at his hands. "Look…"
She peered down as he parted his hands, only slightly, to let her see inside.
Yellow wings fluttered softly in his hands.
"Ah!" she exclaimed. "My butterfly!"
"Your butterfly?" he pulled his hands back away from her sight, and gave her a funny look. "Now, that's the thinking that lead it to run from you in the first place." he slowly opened his hands, as the butterfly remained there, just crawling slightly up his finger, as he moved to let it do so.
"Ah.. it's not flying away." Amy noticed, moving slowly more toward him.
Sonic watched the butterfly, as he seemed to speak like he held respect for it, and maybe even understood the nature around him enough to be wise when handling it. "You can't tell something what to do, or force it to your will." he began, as it moved around his hand to where he had to turn it, trying to twist his arm to it's needs, before slowly moving his arm to a more comfortable position, as he held it out. "It will always do what it knows best, and what it was always meant to do."
Amy placed her hands on his arm, lowering her head down to it as well to get a better look at the gentle butterfly moving along his hand before stopping at the tips of his fingers.
"Nature is finicky. If you don't know how to treat it- oh!" Amy interrupted him by moving her hand gently to reach out for the butterfly, to hold it as well, before it flew off.
"Oh no!" she cried out, racing after it before stopping, and looking saddened by it's departure again. "Ohh…" she sadly whined out a bit.
"Heh, heh. It won't be comfortable with ya." he walked over to her, laughing at her antics, before folding his arms and watching the butterfly fly away…
He stepped closer to her, as the camera cut to behind them. "You know… most things take after nature."
"..Like the wind?" Amy put her hands behind her back, still looking in the direction of the butterfly. "It doesn't like to be caught too, right?"
"….Exactly." Sonic looked to Amy, as she looked to him.
They laughed a moment.
"But the wind can embrace me~" she chimed, bouncing a step up to him, as he grew uneasy and stepped back.
"Uhh… whelp! Time to get you home." Sonic swung his arms and clapped his hands together, turning around and heading off.
Amy puffed up a side of her cheek, and with a cute little defiance in her voice, ran after him, flailing and waving her arms about and around. "Ohhh..! Sonic! I don't want to go! Just five more minutes? Plleeassee!"
"This isn't a date, Amy."
She gasped, then sighed. "Fine… but I get to stay longer than, right?"
"Why do you want to stay longer? All you're doing is running around in a field." Sonic gestured to the area. "I'm sleeping! Aren't you bored?"
"When I'm with you, it's always exciting~" Amy swung her body left and right, holding her hands out and spreading them out to express herself. "Hehe, don't you like just hanging out with me?"
He looked away, letting out a faint chuckle. "It's not bad…" he responded lightly.
"See? Then I can stay?" She rushed up in front of his face, leaning forward and having her hands back, before she tilted her head and smiled, blinking cutely.
Sonic turns and lowers his head to look at her, as their faces aren't so far apart anymore…
The camera zooms in before violently moving out as Sonic flings his arms out, turning quickly around to go back to his spot on the tree, and quickly moving his head with the action as well. "Do what you want." he quickly speaks out. "Just let me know when you're done."
"Hehe, okay~" Amy turns and dances in the field. "Lalala~" she kicks up her legs and moves her usual walk with a swing around, spinning and giggling.
Sonic sits back down and watches her a moment, before sighing and falling back down.
A while later, he twitches and looks to the side to see Amy laying next to him, before surprised to see him awake, and grins a big hearty smile up his way.
"I got bored, hehe~" she chimed, as he just shook his head and sighed, pushing her a bit away.
"Amy…" he whined out slightly.
"Whhaat~ I wasn't bothering you." she complains, not liking him moving because of her.
She flops her head back on his chest as he 'offphs!' and his legs come up a moment.
"I'm tried."
"I'll take you home..!"
"I'm tried here."
"You can be tried THERE."
"I don't wanna~" she stretched.
"You're gonna. Rufgh!" he gets up speedily and lifts her up with him, holding her bridal style as she struggles a little.
"No, no, no, no!" she lightly kicked her feet in rebellion, shaking her head as he sighed once more and looked up at the sky.
"This late, already?"
It was almost sun down.
He looked back to Amy, a little gentler but still slightly exhausted by her behavior. "You really outstayed your welcome, didn't you?"
"Hehee~" She grinned cutely, before holding her hands up to her muzzle in light fist, and hiding her face cutely as she blinked up at him. "Thanks for the date, Sonic~ I had fun!" she kicked her legs out as she moved up, before falling back into his arms again.
"Ahh… A date? Hey, I thought I said-" he was shocked and a little confused at her words, before adjusting his footing and turning his head, looking down at her accusingly.
She giggled, and hid her face, before peeking a little up at him, and hiding it again, shaking her head and blushing a little bit at his light scolding of her thinking.
He rolled his eyes, shaking his head. "You're so weird."
"You like me weird. Hehehe~" she laughed.
He slowly moved his head back to her, "Oh yeah? How would you know. You can't even catch a butterfly, let alone a man's heart." at the last part, he bent his head down to her, smirking cheekily as he rubbed it in her face that she couldn't catch a simple butterfly.
She pouted and turned away. "It was a sneaky one. It only liked you. I tend to know the feeling…" she rolled her eyes back to him, narrowing them slightly to make her point.
He leaned away, "You're hopeless."
"You're-!…Something!" she turned away, not able to think of a good comeback or be able to insult Sonic right now.
"Ohhh, something? Something!? That's hurtful, Amy. I think you've taken this a step to far. I'm belittled, offended, and everything else a guy could possibly be." he narrowed his eyes teasingly back at her, after moving his head up and going on with his little spiel.
She giggled again, loving his wit and humor.
He smiled fondly back, but looked a little worriedly back to the sunset…
"I should really get you going…"
"Aww.. Can't I stay?" she looked up with begging eyes.
"Oh no, don't try that again! Look where it ended us up!" Sonic shook his head. "I won't fall for that twice!" he teased, puffing a bit of air out of his nose as he nodded, showing he wasn't going to be swayed like last time.
"Aww… you're no fun." she folded her arms.
Sonic barely took a step forward before he stopped.
The camera only showed everything from his muzzle down, so mostly Amy. "What was that?" his head tilted.
"Hmph, you're boring! Bleh!" she stuck her tongue out at him.
"….Oh really, now…?" he smirked, as Amy's eyes widened a bit, realizing she knew that face all to well…
His grip tightened on her.
His stance lowered as he reeled his power up, getting ready to shoot off.
"Hold on."
"Eeep!"
He charged at the speed of light out of that field, a bed of flowers getting stampeded as their petals blasted away from him, before being pulled into his windspeed.
With petals flying all around, Sonic moved through a typical stage's loop-de-loop and jumped on a red bounce pad with a star on it.
Amy laughed as she felt the rush of powerful wind blowing passed her face, and 'ahh!'d a little at each amazing fleet Sonic pulled off.
Arriving at the end of the stage, Sonic slowed down as it got darker, but he didn't seem to notice. "Fun?" he looked down with a knowing smile.
"Fun. Hehehe~" Amy giggled back. "See? Any time I'm with you, it's exciting! haha!"
Sonic's eyes softened by her words, remembering what she had said before, about staying…
His smile turned from playfully proving a point and making a joke, to a more sincere look of affection.
"…Want one more go?" he asked.
"…Please?" she begged, her smile… the cutest thing he'd ever seen.
"…Okay." he nodded, narrowing his eyes for a moment before looking ahead, bouncing her in his arms to adjust where she was, before stepping back a second, and then firing off at breakneck speeds into the camera.
Black, and then…. 'SEGA~' trademark.
(…it's called a bounce pad right?! or is that just a sonic boom thing!? XD)
