It was another morning at the academy, and the headmasters and other major staff members were having a meeting, but they weren't getting very far, as Drake and Bonaparte had been arguing back and forth the whole time about the fate of the red dorm. Drake said Bonaparte had no right to tear the dorm down, and Bonaparte asked what right he had to stop him.

Crowler told the two to calm down, but Bonaparte told him to stay out of it. "You've had your chance to improve this school, and you've failed miserably. It's high time we get rid of the Slifer Dorm," Bonaparte declared, but Drake said it wouldn't be happening while he was there. Crowler sided with Drake, saying Bonaparte lacked the authority to tear down the dorm.

Bonaparte asked Crowler why he was adamant about defending the red dorm, and Crowler told him to drop it. Bonaparte said he would drop the matter on one condition, Drake guessing it was a duel. Bonaparte confirmed, saying if he won, the Slifer dorm was history. Crowler told Drake he didn't have to go through with it, and Drake said he was mostly doing it to get Bonaparte to shut up.

Little did they know a particular blue haired student was eavesdropping on the conference. Syrus ran back to the dorm and told everyone what he overheard. "Bonaparte's gonna tear down the dorm?" Jaden asked, and everyone else began bombarding Syrus with questions until Alexis told them to calm down.

Lily asked Syrus if he was sure about what he heard, and he said he was sure, and that Professor Drake and Bonaparte were going to duel. "Why do you want to duel in front of the students?" Drake asked down the road, and everyone turned to the side and saw Drake and Bonaparte walking towards the dorm.

Bonaparte asked Drake if he was having second thoughts, and Drake said he just didn't want to embarrass Bonaparte in front of the students. "Michael, Professor Drake is friends with your dad, do you know if he's any good?" Syrus asked, and Michael said that although he heard he was good, he had never seen Drake duel before.

The two men prepared to duel while Chazz went into one of the rooms with a couple of cans of white paint. "Man, I can't wait to see what kind of duel this is going to be," Jaden said, but Alexis told him he should be more concerned about the duel, Bastion pointing out that if Bonaparte won, the red dorm would be destroyed.

"Who are they?" Syrus asked as he pointed to the side, indicating a group of construction workers. Hassleberry said he didn't know before wondering about the power shovel on the other side of the dorm. Michael said he had a sinking suspicion about it before asking Lily to help him with something, the two walking towards the dorm.

Meanwhile, Chazz was painting one of the rooms white. "Soon all the kids in the school will leave their dorm and join the Society of Light," he said as he continued painting the walls. "This is your last chance to save face Drake. Surrender now and I won't embarrass you," Bonaparte offered, but Drake said he was just trying to save himself from embarrassment.

"In any case, I won't let you kick the Slifers out. I promised a friend I'd look after this dorm, and I'm a man of my word," Drake said as he drew his starting hand. "Fine. Let the revolution begin!" Bonaparte shouted as he activated his duel disk, Drake noting he was a tad overdramatic.

"I'll take the first move, and I summon Toy Soldier in attack mode," Bonaparte declared.

"Cute little guy, don't you think?" Jaden asked, and Bastion said that despite its appearance, they shouldn't underestimate it. Bonaparte then set three cards and ended his turn. "My move. And I play the spell Graceful Charity, so I draw three cards before I send two cards in my hand to the graveyard. Next, I play Pot of Greed to draw two more cards. Now I play Premature Burial, so by paying 800 life points, I can summon a monster from my graveyard in attack mode and equip it with this card, and I choose Phantom Beast Cross-Wing.

"Forgot to mention. Every time you lose life points, a part of the dorm will be torn down," Bonaparte informed as the power shovel started and ripped into the side of the dorm, causing one of Chazz's paint cans to fall on him, covering him in white paint. "Bonaparte are you insane?! There are still kids in the dorm!" Drake shouted, and Lily told him not to worry, as she and Michael got the students out of the dorm before the duel started.

The whole dorm began cheering on Drake, telling him not to let Bonaparte destroy their dorm. "Don't worry kids, the dorm's not going anywhere. Alright, it's still my turn, so I sacrifice Cross-Wing to summon Berphomet in attack mode," Drake declared.

Level 5/Dark/Fiend

ATK 1400/DEF 1800

"And since he was summoned, I can add Gazelle, the King of Mythical Beasts to my hand. Now I activate Polymerization, fusing Gazelle and Berphomet to summon Chimera, the Flying Mythical Beast."

Level 6/Wind/Beast

ATK 2100/DEF 1800

"Alright, way to play teach!" Jaden shouted, and Drake said that wasn't all. "Since Cross-Wing is in my graveyard, all my Phantom Beasts, including Chimera and Gazelle, gain 300 attack points," the professot explained.

Chimera: 2100-2400 ATK

"So you've got some overgrown flea bag. My army is well prepared," Bonaparte assured, and drake asked why he didn't prove it. "Very well then. I play the trap Toy Cannon. This trap will switch your monster to defense mode and deal 400 points of damage to you," Bonaparte expained as a cannon appeared on his field before it launched a small cannonball at Chimera, knocking him onto his back.

Drake: 2800 LP

"And now I play the continuous trap Gulliver Chain!" he continued as thick chains shot out of the ground and wrapped around Chimera, pinning him to the ground. Drake asked Bonaparte what he did, and Bonaparte said that it Chimera was changed to attack mode, it would be destroyed on the spot. Bonaparte asked Drake if his army was well equipped, Drake cursing himself before ending his turn.

"After all that effort to summon Chimera, it was rendered useless in a single turn," Bastion lamented, Alexis saying that Bonaparte was good. "My turn. And during my standby phase, the effect of Toy Soldier activates, allowing me to summon the other Toy Soldiers from my deck," Bonaparte informed as he summoned two copies of his monster.

"Are you aware of the necessary traits for success in battle?" Bonaparte asked, and Drake asked him to clarify. "Allow me to inform you. First is prowess, second is drive, and the most important is decisiveness," Bonaparte answered, and when Drake asked what his point was, Bonaparte said that as the head of a dorm of slackers, he had none of these qualities.

"You don't know anything about me or these students. I won't allow you to crush their potential!" Drake shouted. "We'll see about that. I play the spell Forced March. By halving the attack of all my soldiers this turn, they can each attack you directly," Bonaparte informed.

Soldiers: 800-400 ATK

Bonaparte ordered his monsters to strike, and they began charging across the battlefield, but they stopped halfway, panting for breath. Drake asked Bonaparte if he often overworked his monsters, but Bonaparte said they just need a boost of morale. "I play the spell Fife and Drum Core. This card doubles the attack of monsters on my field with 1000 or less attack points for one turn," he explained.

Soldiers: 400-800 ATK

Bonaparte ordered his monsters to fire, and they aimed their weapons at Drake and fired corks at him, two striking him in the chest and one hitting him in the stomach, causing him to drop to his knees.

"I won't allow myself to lose. It's a teacher's job to protect their students, and that's what I'm going to do. As soon as I can stand back up at least," Drake declared. Hassleberry said it would be more moving if Drake could stand, but Jaden shouted for him not to give up. "Since I successfully attacked you directly, I can play the continuous trap Unequal Treaty. While this card is in play, every time you draw a card, you lose 100 life points and I gain 100 life points. I'll place one card face-down and end my turn," Bonaparte finished.

"Not good. None of the cards in my hand can help me right now. And with that Unequal Treaty trap in play, I only have four turns left before I lose. I'm not sure I can win this duel," Drake thought to himself, but all the students began cheering for him, saying he could turn the duel around if he just kept going. "They're right. No matter how much the odds are stacked against me, I'll keep fighting. I draw!" Drake shouted.

"I summon Phantom Beast Wild Horn in attack mode!"

Level 4/Earth/Beast-Warrior

ATK 1700-2000/DEF 0

"And now I play the field spell Forest! This boosts the attack and defense of all beast, insect, plant, and beast-warrior monsters by 200 points."

Wild Horn: 2000-2200 ATK/0-200 DEF

Chimera: 2400-2600 ATK/1800-2000 DEF

"Next up I play the spell Card Hexative! Thanks to it, your face-down card can no longer be activated," Drake informed, Bonaparte mentally lamenting his Negate Attack was useless. "Now Wild Horn, attack Toy Soldier!" Drake ordered as Wild Horn raised his sword and cut one of Bonaparte's Toy Soldiers in two.

Bonaparte: 2700 LP

"Whatever you destroy, I'll have rebuilt. Ready men?" Drake asked, and the contruction crew shouted in the affirmative before they rushed to the dorm and began repairing the damage done by the power shovel. "Next, I place a card face-down and end my turn," Drake finished. "Pointless struggles. I draw. And I play Pot of Greed, so I draw two cards from my deck. Next I play the spell Blasting Vein, so by destroying my set card, I can draw another two cards. And next I play the spell Crowning of the Emperor, so by sacrificing one of my remaining Toy Soldiers, I can summon Toy Emperor from my deck!" Bonaparte declared.

Level 6/Earth/Warrior

ATK 2300/DEF 800

Bonaparte ordered Toy Emperor to attack Wild Horn, but Drake activated the effect of Phantom Beast Thunder Pegasus in his graveyard, explaining that by banishing it, he could make Wild Horn unable to be destroyed by battle that turn. Toy Emperor charged forward and tried to strike Wild Horn with his sword, but Wild Horn raised his blade and blocked the strike.

Drake: 200 LP

Bonaparte switched his remaining Toy Soldier to defense mode and set two cards before ending his turn. "My face-downs are Trap Hole and Mirror Force. If he summons a monster with 1000 or more attack, it'll be destroyed, and if he manages to attack, he loses all his monsters. This duel is as good as mine," Bonaparte thought to himself. "This is the last turn. If I can't draw the right cards, I lose. Well, I always did love to press my luck," Drake thought to himself before he started his turn.

Drake: 100 LP

Bonaparte: 2800 LP

"Well Jaden, guess it's time to pack our bags," Syrus lamented, but Jaden said the duel wasn't over yet. "You're right Jaden. Especially since I drew the first card I needed to make a comeback. I play the spell Trap Pause! This card negates the effects of all your face-up continuous traps until the end of this turn, and then I get to draw a card for every trap that was negated this way. Since two traps were negated, I draw two cards," Drake explained, and Syrus said that now he could switch Chimera to attack mode.

"Next I play the spell Altar of Restoration, so by banishing the top two cards of my deck, I can add a card from my graveyard to my hand, and I choose Card Hexative, which I'll activate again, so the cards you set last turn are useless to you. Now, I sacrifice Phantom Beast Wild Horn to summon Phantom Beast Rock-Lizard in attack mode!" Drake exclaimed.

Level 7/Earth/Beast-Warrior

ATK 2200/DEF 2000

"Normally Rock Lizard would require two sacrifices, but due to its special ability, he can be summoned with one sacrifice if I sacrifice a Phantom Beast. And due to the effects of Cross-Wing and Forest, he gains a total of 500 attack points."

Rock-Lizard: 2200-2700 ATK/DEF 2000-2200

"And now I play the equip spell Mystical Moon, raising his attack and defense by another 300 points!"

Rock-Lizard: 2700-3000 ATK/2200-2500 DEF

Alexis said that even with all those points, since Toy Soldier was in defense mode, he couldn't deal damage by attacking it, but Jaden said that Drake had planned for that. "Go Rock-Lizard, and attack Toy Emperor with Rock Scale Blast!" Drake ordered as Rock-Lizard fired a barrage of scales at Toy Emperor, destroying him.

Bonaparte: 2100 LP

"And due to Rock-Lizard's other special ability, when he destroys a monster in battle, you take 500 points of damage."

Bonaparte: 1600 LP

"You've still lost. Your Chimera is still in defense mode, which means he can't attack. And even if he could, since Toy Soldier is in defense mode, you can't damage me by attacking him. I guess it's so long red dorm," Bonaparte taunted, but Drake said it wasn't over, saying he had a reason for not changing Chimera to attack mode.

"I activate the trap Zero Gravity! Due to Zero Gravity, all monsters on the field change their battle modes, so Rock-Lizard goes into defense mode while Chimera and Toy Soldier go into attack mode," Drake informed, Michael pointing out that since it changed modes during the battle phase, it could declare an attack.

"Like I said, I'm a man of my word. Now go Chimera! Destroy Toy Soldier with Impact Dash!" Drake shouted as Chimera leapt forward and tackled Toy Soldier, destroying him and knocking Bonaparte onto his back.

"You see Bonaparte. That's the difference between a good teacher and a great one. Anyone can teach. But an excellent teacher can learn from their students," Drake said, although Bonaparte thought it was hogwash. "Say what you want, but I won this duel, so the red dorm is staying," Drake said before the whole dorm began cheering for their headmaster while Chazz came out, seeing the construction crew working to repair the dorm and wondering what he had missed.
