Chazz walked up the rest of the path and entered Sarina's cave, telling her that Sartorius sent him to escort her. At Kaiba Corporation, a white limo pulled up in front of the building, and Sartorius stepped out before being escorted inside. They walked through the halls until they reached the office of the president of Kaiba Corp, Seto Kaiba himself.

"Greetings. I take it you're Sartorius, head of the Society of Light?" Kaiba asked, and Sartorius considered it an honor that someone like Seto Kaiba would know of him. "The Society of Light. It's a name I seem to keep hearing, whether I like it or not. They say you fancy yourself a god, and that you can foresee all destinies," Kaiba said, but Sartorius said he would never consider himself a god.

"All men are prisoners of destiny, and I am no exception. However, as I have a power most men lack, I can sometimes peer through the door to the future, to catch a glimpse of destiny. I've come here today to ask you a favor. I would like to use Kaiba Land for a Duel Academy field trip event," Sartorius requested, and Kaiba agreed to let him use it.

Sartorius thanked Kaiba for his generosity and said he would leave, and he was escorted out by one of the guards. "Sartorius Kumar. A dubious character indeed," Kaiba noted once he had left, and when Roland asked if he wanted to monitor him, Kaiba said not to bother, as whatever he had planned had nothing to do with him.

Outside, Sartorius had just stepped into his limo when Miranda appeared on the video screen. Miranda asked if everything was in place, and Sartorius said that all that was left was for Frost and Thunder to apprehend Hassleberry and Syrus. Across town, Jaden, Alexis, and Lily had finished breaking Michael out of the ice, and Michael thanked his friends as he rubbed his arms.

Jaden asked him if he was alright, and Michael said that although his fingers felt a little numb, he would be fine in a few minutes. Lily asked what happened, and Michael said he wasn't entirely sure. "I was with Solomon when suddenly these two guys jumped us. One of them shocked Solomon and the other froze me from behind," Michael informed.

Alexis asked him if he knew where they were taking him, and Michael pointed in the direction of Hassleberry and Syrus, saying he thought he heard one of them say something about Battle City. They went off towards the building Hassleberry and Syrus were dueling at, but as they passed an alley, they heard someone moaning. They looked in the alley and saw Solomon lying on a pile of garbage bags.

"Mr. Moto, are you okay?" Jaden asked as he grabbed Solomon's hand and helped him stand up. Solomon said that apart from having lost his bandana, he was just fine. Aster walked up to the group, saying he was looking for Jaden. Jaden asked why he was looking for him, and Aster said it was because of the spirits around town.

"Wait, since when can you see duel spirits?" Jaden asked, and Aster said he had started noticing strange things since his duel with Michael, but he noticed something strange, pointing to the top of one of the nearby buildings, which was the one Syrus and Hassleberry were dueling on, and Jaden instantly recognized one of the monsters.

"That's Black Tyranno, one of Hassleberry's monsters!" Jaden exclaimed, and Michael said it looked like two of the spirits surrounding the town were also in the duel. Alexis pointed out that was the building that Yugi and Kaiba had their tag duel on, and Michael realized that must've been what Frost and Thunder were talking about. Everyone ran towards the tower, but while they were making their way, things weren't going well for Hassleberry and Syrus.

Frost: 4000 LP

Thunder: 4000 LP

Hassleberry: 1100 LP

Syrus: 3500 LP

Frost's field: Mobius the Frost Monarch, Reflector Bit, Mobius Castle, Side Attack, Revolving Stage, one face-down.

Hassleberry's field: Black Tyranno

Thunder's field: Zaborg the Thunder Monarch, Reflector Bit

"Quit stealing my thunder, man! We're supposed to be on the same team!" Thunder shouted, but Frost just chuckled. "Dude, you gotta learn to chill. I'm just trying to have me a good time yo, so step off. Besides, I can put the freeze on these chumps without you," Frost mocked, but Thunder didn't agree.

"You wish Frosty. I've always been the power behind this operation and you know it," Thunder said, and Frost said they should see who beats their opponent first, Thunder agreeing. Hassleberry said that they were getting ahead of themselves, Syrus adding that they hadn't lost the duel yet, and they didn't plan to either.

Thunder said there was no way they could win, and Frost said he was interested to be facing someone who could resist Sartorius' power, but so far, Hassleberry had failed to live up to the hype. "And I was looking forward to facing the brother of the guy who's been ripping up the pro league, but it's easy to see who got the dueling skills in the family," Thunder insulted, but Syrus said he was going to make Thunder eat those words before starting his turn and summoning his Gyroid in defense mode.

Level 3/Wind/Machine

ATK 1000/DEF 1000

Hassleberry asked Syrus if that was the best he could do, but Syrus said that was the best he had at the moment. "Talk about giving someone the cold shoulder. It's my move, and I switch Mobius back into attack mode. Now Mobius, take out his dino with Ice Lance!" Frost ordered before Mobius created a spear from ice, hurling it at Dark Tyranno.

Hassleberry: 800 LP

"I'll place a card face-down and cool it for now," he finished. "Alright, my turn! Perfect. I play the spell Card of Reversal. When there are no other cards on my field or in my hand, this card lets me draw one card for every face-up card on your field, and I count four. Next, I summon Element Saurus in defense mode," Hassleberry declared.

Level 4/Dark/Dinosaur

ATK 1500/DEF 1200

Syrus said Hassleberry wasn't doing much better than him, but Hassleberry told him not to insult his dinosaurs. "The kid has a point though. You're dinos don't mix well with my ice. Due to the effect of Mobius Castle, your monster loses 500 attack and defense," Frost reminded.

Saurus: 1500-1000 ATK/1200-700 DEF

"And now I activate my trap card Mobius Glacier. While this card is in play alongside Mobius, all your dinos are forced into attack mode and they can't attack," Frost informed, and Hassleberry set two cards to end his turn. Syrus noted that if Mobius attacked the next turn, Hassleberry would lose.

"I'd worry about yourself, kid. Your deck is a bad match-up against my thunder deck. I draw. And I pay 1000 life points to activate the System Down spell card. This card banishes all machine-type monsters that are on your field or in your graveyard, so you can kiss your Truckroid and Gyroid goodbye," Thunder said as a bright light flashed underneath Gyroid before it disappeared into thin air.

Thunder: 3000 LP

"Now Zaborg can attack you directly. Go, Rolling Thunder!" Thunder ordered as Zaborg fired a blast of lightning at Syrus, electrocuting him on the spot.

Syrus: 1100 LP

Hassleberry asked Syrus if he was okay, and Syrus said he'd live. "If that gave you a jolt, wait till you see this. I play the continuous spell Rampage Condenser. As long as I control a thunder-type monster, you lose 500 life points every time you attack with a machine monster," Thunder informed.

Hassleberry said it didn't look like Syrus was doing much better than him, and Syrus said it wasn't his fault. "You two are pathetic, but then that's why you're just bait," Thunder taunted. Syrus asked what he meant by bait, and Frost said the only reason he and Thunder were dueling them was to use them as bait to lure Jaden and Aster. "Guess again. You'll never get your hands on our pal," Hassleberry declared, but Frost said they were getting schooled left and right and had no chance of victory left.

"Private Truesdale… our little squabble over who's stronger had to wait," Hassleberry admitted, and Syrus said he was right, and that they had to work together to save Jaden. "My turn. I draw! And I summon Stealthroid in attack mode!" Syrus declared.

Level 4/Dark/Machine

ATK 1200/DEF 0

"Next, I activate the field spell Training Field," Syrus continued. "Looks like someone's blown a fuse. Don't tell me you actually plan to attack with that hunk of junk," Thunder insulted, but Syrus said he did, and Thunder pointed out that since he was attacking with a machine-type monster, Rampage Condenser deals him 500 points of damage.

Syrus: 600 LP

"Once Zaborg strikes you back, you'll lose this duel," Thunder pointed out, but Syrus said Zaborg wasn't his target, but Element Saurus was, because due to Training Field's effect, he could attack any monster regardless of which side it was on, but neither monster would be destroyed. Stealthroid activated its jets, blasting a stream of hot air at Hassleberry and his monster.

Hassleberry: 600 LP

"Now I activate Stealthroid's special ability. Whenever Stealthroid participates in a battle, it destroys one spell or trap after the battle ends, so I'm destroying Mobius Glacier!" Syrus exclaimed as Stealthroid fired a missile, destroying Frost's trap card. "And there's more. Due to Training Field's effect, my Stealthroid gains an extra 300 attack points," Syrus informed.

Stealthroid: 1200-1500 ATK

"Impressive maneuver. Now chew on this son, I play the trap Counterattack! When one of my monsters is attacked, I can use this card to force a battle between one of my monsters and the one who waged the attack. I use Training Field's effect to attack Stealthroid!" Hassleberry said as Element Saurus launched a stream of fire from his mouth at Stealthroid, but it bounced right back.

Hassleberry: 100 LP

"Due to Stealthroid's effect, since it battled, I destroy your Rampage Condenser spell card, and next, due to Training Field's effect, Element Saurus' attack points go up," Syrus pointed out.

Saurus: 1000-1300 ATK

"These two are damaging each other to help the other. But how did these two go from fighting each other more than us to this level of teamwork?" Frost asked, but when he saw the panels of his Reflector Bit shine, the answer hit him. "Our Reflector Bits!" he shouted, Thunder realizing they were using the Reflector Bits to look at the other's hands.

Syrus then set two cards and ended his turn. "It's payback time! I'm gonna put you on ice! Mobius, attack with Ice Lance!" Frost ordered. "Not so fast, I play the trap Dark Computer Virus! By sacrificing Stealthroid, this card lets me change the target of your Side Attack spell, which means me and Hassleberry trade places," Syrus informed, much to Frost's chagrin. "Sorry iceman, but this time I flipped the script. And now Hassleberry's dinos can use their full power," Syrus pointed out.

Element Saurus: 1300-1800 ATK/700-1200 DEF

Frost pointed out that even though Hassleberry's monsters were freed, Syrus was now in the way of Mobius' attack. "Don't think so. I play the trap Jurassic Impact! Since I have fewer life points than you, all monsters on the field are destroyed and all players take 1000 points of damage for each of their destroyed monsters," Hassleberry explained as meteors rained down on the field, destroying all the monsters in play and covering the field in molten rock.

Frost: 2000 LP

Thunder: 1000 LP

Syrus: 1800 LP

Hassleberry: 1300 LP

Thunder asked how they gained life points, and Syrus said that when Hassleberry activated Jurassic Impact, he activated his own trap, Ring of Life. "This card destroyed Element Saurus and gave both of us life points equal to Element Saurus' defense points," Syrus explained, and Hassleberry said that due to Jurassic Impact's effect, they all had to wait a turn before they could summon any monsters.

He started his turn, but since he couldn't do anything, he ended his turn immediately. Thunder then took his turn and set three cards before ending his turn. Syrus did nothing on his turn, and when Frost started his turn, he saw that he had drawn the card Sarina had given him, setting the card face-down.

Once he finished his turn, the molten rock cooled and disappeared, causing the field to return to normal. "Now that we can summon again, I can get this duel back on track. I draw! And I play my Ultra Evolution spell card! With it, I can banish Black Tyranno from my grave and Dyna Base from my hand to summon Super Conductor Tyranno from my deck!" Hassleberry declared.

Level 8/Light/Dinosaur

ATK 3300/DEF 1400

"This duel is ours. Super Conductor Tyranno, attack him directly!" Hassleberry ordered before Tyranno opened its mouth and fired a beam of multi-colored lightning at Thunder. "You got some nerve attacking me with lightning. I play the trap Lightning Talisman! This card stops your attack and forces all of you to draw one card, but then you take 400 points of damage for each card in your hand," Frost explained.

Frost: 1200 LP

Hassleberry: 500 LP

Syrus: 200 LP

Hassleberry ended his turn, and when Thunder started his turn, he also drew the card Sarina gave him. "I could win if I could use it, but I can't activate it since I only have 1000 life points left," he thought to himself before he activated his set Monster Reincarnation, discarding the card he drew that turn to return his Thunder Knight to his hand, which he summoned in defense mode.

Level 4/Light/Thunder

ATK 1300-1700/DEF 1200

Thunder then ended his turn, and Frost realized he was going to have to finish the duel. "My move, I draw! I play the spell Burial from a Different Dimension, so all banished monsters are sent to their owner's graveyards. Next up, I summon Expressroid in attack mode," Syrus declared.

Level 4/Earth/Machine

ATK 400/DEF 1600

"And due to his special ability, when Expressroid is summoned, I can take two machine-type monsters in my graveyard and put them in my hand, so I'm adding Truckroid and Stealthroid to my hand. With them back, I can play the spell Vehicroid Connection Zone, letting me fuse Expressroid, Truckroid, Stealthroid, and Drillroid to summon Super Vehicroid - Stealth Union!" Syrus shouted.

Level 9/Earth/Machine

ATK 3600/DEF 3000

"And now I activate Stealth Union's special ability. Once per turn, he can turn one monster on the field that isn't a machine type into an equip card for himself. Mind lending me your Super Conductor Tyranno, Serge?" Syrus asked, and Hassleberry said it would be his pleasure as his monster was absorbed into Stealth Union, the head of Super Conductor serving as its chest.

"Due to Stealth Union's effect, when he's equipped with a card due to his own effect, he can attack twice by splitting his points in two. Not only that, but he also deals piercing damage. This is the end!" Syrus said, but Frost said he wasn't losing this duel, activating his set Mirror of Duality, explaining that when his opponent attacks, he could pay 1000 life points to activate it.

Frost: 200 LP

"Now that I've paid the cost, every monster on the field is destroyed, and then every player but me takes 500 points of damage for every destroyed monster!" Frost declared as spheres of dark energy rained down, ripping through Thunder Knight and Stealth Union and pelting Syrus, Hassleberry, and Thunder.

Syrus: 0 LP

Hassleberry: 0 LP

Thunder: 0 LP

Winner: Frost

Everyone but Frost dropped to the ground unconscious. "Sorry Thunder, but duels are about winning by any means necessary," Frost said as the spirits surrounding the city vanished as the sky began to clear. Jaden noted they were gone, and Frost appeared down on the street, announcing himself to Jaden.

Jaden asked Frost how he knew his name, and Michael identified him as one of the two who abducted Solomon. "I see someone finished their chill session," Frost joked, and Michael suggested they see how well Frost faired against him now that he could fight back.

"Cool it, man. Besides, I'm not here for you. If you're looking for your friends, I know where to find them," Frost informed, and when Jaden asked where they were, Frost said they were in Sarina's care for now. "Wait, you mean Sartorius' sister?" Aster asked, and everyone else was surprised to hear that Sartorius had a sister. Frost just laughed and disappeared into a gust of arctic wind. "Syrus… Hassleberry…" Jaden lamented, worried about his friends.
