Chapter 5 A little confusion for all!
Bret followed behind Raven as they trampled through the snow, peaks of ice surrounding them making the trail harder because every step he saw and took seemed to lead to a wall of ice, he was really glad Raven knew where she was going. Raven didn't say anything as they walked through the snow, there was so much buzzing in Bret's head he wasn't sure how he managed to put a sentence together, the buzz was so loud in his skull he didn't even register how cold it was.
"You don't like Humans much do you Raven?"
"Apparently it's elk that I don't like much, somethin about them irks me, it might be their furry jackets or their pointy hats, I don't know I just hate them!" Raven got so angry that a beam of fire flew from her hand melting a new path for them. He couldn't help it, he laughed at her reaction, the soothing words came from no-where.
"Raven it's ok to hate the elk, it's bad to melt a new path, you might hit someone innocent"
She just stared at him for a moment, that same relaxed peace he was feeling splattered on her small face.
"Told you, you were the one to help"
"You haven't told me how I'm meant to do that yet Raven"
Before his eyes a town emerged, the hazy snowfall had blocked his view, and since he was behind her the whole trip, he found himself looking at her cute round backside. In her hunting gear all the natural female curves looked even tighter.
"This is my hometown Kadary, it holds everything we need to get you ready"
He followed her again, his eyes going back to her butt, suddenly she stopped making him crash right into her, being a Hunter she was able to stop the process so neither of them got hurt. She looked at him confused, her silver eyes narrowing as the thoughts pulsed in her head.
"Why have you spent this entire trip looking at my ass? Is it that obvious that I'm missin my tail?"
"You had a tail?" Sure, that was the part he was stuck on, it wasn't the fact that she could read minds apparently or even her scary Hunting skills, no it was the tail.
"Once upon a time yes, but because of the Great Collapse I found myself living without one"
"If you call that living" Apparently she wasn't the only one that could read minds. "How do I know that's what you always say?"
"It's apart of the job, don't worry it goes away"
Bret found himself in a small inn, they were barely seated when Raven got a message. In her brain through telepathy. And Bret saw every word as though it was a letter in his hand.
Raven there's a problem with the old man, you need to get to Earth righ now
"And you wonder why I hate Hu-mans" Raven skulled down her mead that had been placed on the bar awaiting her arrival.
Storm! Are you availiable? I have Bret here but I need you to help him get settled, Earth has a problem needing my attention
Sure Rae
He couldn't help but jump when another figure appeared right in front of him, unlike Raven she was a tall girl made entirely out of pure ivory, even her eyes were white. Her long hair hung down her back, the only part of her that had colour was her black hunting gear.
"Bret, this is Storm. She's gonna keep you company for a while"
He nodded, well he hoped thats what happened, he couldn't keep his eyes off her pure beauty.
Raven and Storm just looked at him confused, they read his head but the words didn't make much sense. But since it wasn't a direct threat they just left it to be his own personal thoughts.
