I'm SO sorry for this extra long delay. Life kept hitting me hard, including a kidney stone (no fun at all, especially it was my second) and then I've had… digestive and lower back pain. Because of all that, I've missed work for over a week! I was not a happy camper, I can tell you all that! I'm all better now. One other thing. I choose to use the original Japanese names of the characters and certain cards used because it is my preference. The original series was the only one I used the English dub names for. I'm sorry if not all of you approve of my name choices, but it's a choice I'm sticking with. Now then, another Elite strikes! Who is it this time, and who will face them? You will know that now, along with how Divine plans to get Ruka!

(A.N. Some of you are probably gonna get annoyed by this, but I have changed some stuff in the Ruka vs Yang Duel. By now I'm sure you've learned that Ruka FINALLY has some new OCG support like her brother and fellow Signers, especially her dragon's upgrade. I've always hated that Ruka was the only one to not get anything new at the time I originally posted this chapter, forcing me to make up stuff for her. I've been pondering whether or not I should replace cards I made up with the real deal after posting this chapter a while back. In the end, I've caved in and inserted most of Ruka's "true" support cards in the chapter. I hope you can forgive me. I just felt I HAD to do it. Now, the Duel was adjusted to accommodate Ruka's new cards and still work out. Personally, I feel better after doing it. I honestly pray my changes are acceptable for you guys. Peace out.)

Yugioh: The Hope of Six

Chapter 54: Arcadia Arc – Part 9

Sly picked up Stardust Dragon and stared at it. Without a word, he tossed the card at Yugo, who caught it. "I promise I'm not going to try to steal any cards in the future. That's the deal, right?" He asked Yusei, who nodded back. Sly then turned and began to walk away. "Good. Now I'm outta here." Jack, Crow, Aki, Yugo, and Rin watched him step past them. When Sly passed Rua, he paused and looked at him. Rua stared back. Sly scoffed at him before he continued on his way. He then passed Ruka, Tempei, Bob, and Patty without so much as a glance. Of course, he never saw Windy at his hiding place. Just before he was out of sight, Sly stopped and looked back at Ruka with cold eyes. "Don't ever talk to me again. I'm happier being alone." That was the last thing he said before he left through the apartment front door, slamming it behind him.

Ruka kept replaying that memory over and over again, especially the last part.

She sat and ate by herself at her and Rua's pool party not long after Sly had angrily left. Her brother wanted to keep her company, but she told him she needed some time to herself. Reluctantly, he left his sister to her solitude.

As she ate her food, Ruka was in turmoil. She still couldn't believe how wrong she had been about Sly. She saw how lonely he had been and strongly believed he wanted to have friends but simply didn't know how. Ruka wanted to help him. However, it turned out to be the exact opposite. Sly wanted no friends and preferred to have no one. Not only that, he proved to be a liar and a would be thief. When his attempt to steal Yusei's Stardust Dragon failed and was exposed, he lashed out harshly at Ruka upon being questioned. An "annoying pest" he called her. Sly's words and overall negative attitude had truly hurt her. It took her a lot to not cry in front of everyone. She was still questioning her bad assumption regarding Sly when Patty approached her.

"Hey." The girl said as she sat next to her best friend, holding her own plate.

"Hi." Ruka said weakly, looking down at the ground. Patty could tell her friend was still depressed.

"You really okay?" Patty asked. Ruka didn't look up at her.

"I guess." She said in a not very convincing tone.

"You guess?" Patty questioned. Ruka sighed.

"Maybe I'm not so okay after all." Patty had a pretty good idea what was bothering her.

"Ruka, you can't keep beating yourself up about Sly. It's not your fault that he's a major jerk." She insisted. Ruka frowned deeply.

"Rua saw the kind of person he was straight away. I didn't. I completely misjudged him, Patty." She turned to her, her sadness evident. 'And it wasn't the first time Rua was right about someone and I wasn't.' Ruka remembered how she misjudged Lucciano, one of three parts of one of the Signers' former enemies, Aporia. He got himself into her school to get close and befriend her, but Rua wasn't impressed with him at all. He didn't like Lucciano from the get go, and was later proven how right he was in a later Riding Duel. "What's wrong with me? Am I just… bad at reading people?"

"You're not bad at anything." Patty told her firmly. "Sly just turned out to be someone who doesn't care about anyone but himself. That's not on you." Ruka didn't feel any better.

"I've been around Sly for a while now. How could I have not seen the real him in all that time? Where did I go wrong?" She asked herself, sounding more distressed. "What if I misjudge someone else again? And what if that someone is much worse than Sly?" Patty put a hand on her friend's shoulder.

"Ruka, listen to me. You've got to let that go. Rua just happens to be a good judge of character. You need to trust the people that actually are your friends." The blonde then looked over at Rua, who was conversing with Tempei and Bob at the other side of the pool. "Your brother wouldn't want you to stress yourself out like this." The little green haired girl looked over at Patty, who was still looking at Rua's direction. Ruka was about to argue further when Patty added, "You know, you're really lucky to have a brother like Rua. He's kind, energetic, gutsy, and always willing to help out a friend. Not only that, but he's gotten a lot better at Dueling lately. He really impressed me today when he kicked Sly's butt in their Duel. He's overall a great guy."

Ruka studied her friend. She was startled at the way she talked about Rua. 'Patty never praised Rua this much before. And the way she's looking at him…' Ruka nearly gasped. She recognized Patty's look. 'She's looking at him… the same way Rua looked at Rin!' Could it really be? "Patty… do you like Rua?" She asked, completely forgetting about Sly. Patty finally turned back to her, looking surprised.

"Like him? Well, yeah. We are friends you know." She said, though she sounded a bit defensive. Ruka suspected it was more than that.

"That wasn't quite what I meant." Ruka said. Patty immediately blushed and started to stammer.

"Ruka! Are you saying that I might…?" She shook her head stubbornly. "No! Come on, that's just… I wasn't really… you know what I meant!" She then turned away from her again, and this time it was away from Rua as well.

Ruka giggled. "It's okay. I don't mind you feeling that way about my brother." She said. Patty didn't reply, but she did give a hint of a smile. Ruka began to think about how Rua would react if he knew about Patty's secret crush on him. She wouldn't tell him of course, but it was still fun to imagine.

Rua was having his own conversation with his two guy friends when Patty joined Ruka. "Ruka looks miserable over there. I'll never forgive that jerk for what he did." Rua said hatefully to the boy who insulted his sister.

"Sly really hurt her feelings big time." Bob sighed in a sad voice, seeing how Ruka seemed.

"Ruka didn't deserve to be talked to like that." Tenpei said in a surprisingly angry tone. "In fact, I think Sly should go to jail one day for being the type of person he is. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if that's what eventually happens to him." He added emphatically.

Rua and Bob stared at him, stunned by his words. They knew that Tempei was not only kind and smart, but also was able to keep himself in control and not overreact. Now, he didn't sound so calm.

"Tenpei?" Rua asked, puzzled by this.

"You alright, buddy?" Bob asked, concerned. Tenpei kept his eyes on Ruka, who seemed distressed while discussing something with Patty.

"I'm fine. Ruka's the one that Sly insulted." He replied harshly.

Rua studied his friend's expression as he continued to look over at Ruka. 'What's up with Tenpei? I've never heard him talk like this before. He sounds even more mad than I was when Sly insulted Ruka. And she's my sister. What's gotten into him?' Rua couldn't quite put his finger on it.

Tenpei sighed worriedly at Ruka. Earlier, when he heard Sly insult Ruka, he felt more than a little agitated. He felt like Rua did, wanting to punch Sly to the ground. The truth was, Tenpei really liked Ruka. He did for a while, but felt he wasn't ready to let her know. He just kept it himself. Plus, Rua might not approve. So, he decided to keep the status quo.

"Then why do you sound so miffed?" Bob asked.

"I'm not miffed." Tenpei said defensively. "I just… need to use the bathroom." He said hurriedly before making his way inside the penthouse.

Rua and Bob stared at each other. "What's up with Tenpei?" Bob questioned. Rua shrugged.

"No clue." He replied, unsure of his friend's behavior. "I guess Sly got under a lot of people's skins today… especially mine."

"No kidding. Kinda makes you wonder what his own parents are like, having a kid like him." Bob added.

"I'll bet they're just as bad as him, if not worse." Rua said, positive Sly was a bad seed from a couple of bad apples.

A white blonde, golden eyed woman hummed contently to herself as she cleaned the kitchen in her white blouse and shirt. It always made her feel at peace when she was cleaning. To her, it felt like it was her purpose to remove any impurities she discovered, no matter how minuscule. Indeed, if you looked around the small house she lived in, you would think it was spotless. Not even a speck of dust could be seen. The woman was quite pleased with herself when she admired her handiwork. "There. This place is as pure as a little babe in a white blanket." She said to herself.

It was just then that she heard the front door open and close rather loudly. "Mom! I'm back!" Said a younger and rather upset voice. The woman recognized who it was. She peaked her head out to see her son, who was clearly in a bad mood.

"Welcome home, Sly. How was the pool party?" She asked calmly when she saw her son kick his shoes off.

"Awful!" He told her before he stormed up the stairs. She then saw him enter his room and banged the door closed. His mother frowned.

"What is up with him this time?" She was used to his aloof behavior, but now he was clearly mad about something. The woman marched up the stairs and approached her son's bedroom. She then knocked.

"Sly? Can I come in?" She asked.

"Go away Mom! I want to be alone!" Sly called back through the door. His mother frowned.

"Did something happen at that party that made you upset?" She questioned, clearly concerned for her son's wellbeing.

"I told you I want to be alone! Don't talk to me!" Sly responded harshly. The woman sighed.

'He sounds just like his father.' She knew what her former husband had been like, and her son took more after him than her. In fact, Sly didn't seem to inherit any part of her, personality or appearance wise. The woman supposed Sly's father's genetic traits were more dominant. Regardless, she couldn't just leave her only son in this upsetting matter. She closed her eyes, held a hand over her heart, then placed the other on the door. "Sly, I am your mother. I want to help you. Please, open the door and let me in." She said in a soft but slightly commanding voice. She lowered her hands and opened her eyes again as her son allowed his mother to enter his room.

"Okay. Come on in, Mom." He said in a voice that sounded polite but not quite normal. His mother smiled warmly.

"Thank you, sweetheart." She said sweetly before she stepped inside. Sly's mother then sat on the bed, her son joining her. She then wrapped an arm around him and held him close. Sly then looked up to his mother, pain still evident in his eyes. "Now, my little yin… tell me everything."

"Seriously Yugo, don't do something that can get you killed." She said in a worried voice. Yugo nodded.

"I won't, Rin. I'll come back. Just make sure you do the same." Rin nodded herself.

"You bet I will." The couple then turned to the twins. "You two be extremely careful as well. We'll all meet up later to bring Divine down." The siblings nodded.

"Got it." Rua said.

"Be safe you guys." Ruka said.

"You got it." Yugo assured them. With that, he and Rin got onboard their respective D-Wheels, put on their helmets, and rode off to their destinations. The twins watched them both disappear from sight before heading back inside to prepare for their hostile visitor.

"So, any ideas about which of Divine's Elite Psychics will be coming?" Rua asked as he and his sister stepped into the elevator that would take them back up to their apartment.

"No." Ruka said. "We could be up against any of them."

"Well, whichever one drops in, we can handle them." Rua said confidently. Ruka gave a small smile and nodded.

"Yeah." She replied before looking down, not nearly showing as much confidence her brother did. Rua sensed something was wrong with his sister.

"Something wrong Ruka? Are you really not sure we can do it?" Rua asked. Ruka shook her head.

"No. That's not it." She said softly.

"Then what is it?" Rua questioned further. His sister gave him a very sad look.

"It's just… I wish I wasn't so naïve."

"What do you mean?" Rua asked, still not understanding what Ruka was getting at.

"I couldn't see the kind of person Sly really was, but you did. You tried to tell me, but I ignored you and instead tried to bring out the best in Sly. It was a disaster. I had never been so wrong about someone before." She paused before she got to the bottom line. "Rua… I'm afraid I might misjudge someone again, and it could be worse than with Sly." She said with fear in her voice.

"Ruka…" Rua said, stunned by his sister's words. He never thought Ruka had that problem. He tried to reassure her by reminding her something very important. "Hey, listen. Remember when we first met Yusei?" He asked. Ruka nodded.

"Of course I do. He got into a bad accident that night and we brought him into our home to rest and heal." She replied. "Who knew we got into all kinds of crazy stuff after that."

"Yeah, no joke." Rua said before getting back on topic. "Anyways, when he was still out, we were unsure if we could trust him because of his criminal mark. You recall how you found out if he was good or bad?" Ruka nodded, a warm smile on her face.

"I talked to the Duel Spirts from his cards, and they told me he was a good person."

"Yeah. You told me Yusei was a good guy because you believed what those Spirts said, and you were right to listen to them." Rua said. Ruka then looked away.

"But I didn't do the same with Sly." She admitted. "Rua, not everyone is a Duelist, so I can't always rely on talking to Duel Spirits to judge a person's character for me. I have do that myself, and I'm apparently bad at it." Her brother shook his head.

"Not my point. You believed those Duel Spirits because you trust them. Do you know how you can trust them?" Ruka knew this answer right away.

"Because I can sense the goodness in them." Rua smiled.

"Exactly! If you can use that "goodness sensing" thing with people like you do with Duel Spirits, then you can avoid making the same mistake you did with Sly. You just gotta trust yourself to do that." Ruka smiled back and hugged her brother.

"Thank you, Rua. That's really good advice." Rua chuckled and scratched the back of his head.

"Yeah well, I might have picked up a thing or two from Yusei about giving good advice."

Ruka chuckled herself. She then saw one of her own Duel Spirits appear beside her, giving her a friendly bump along with a "kuri kuri" sound. 'Yeah, you're right Kuribon. Rua has grown up a bit.' The brown furry Spirit nodded in agreement before vanishing.

A short time later, the twins returned to their apartment and hid themselves in the bushes throughout the pool area. There, they watched waited. Before long, midnight came… and so did their enemy.

As she arrived at the twins' apartment door, the mostly white masked form of Yang tested tried to twist the knob. She wasn't surprised to find it locked. Being a much more subtle person than her fellow Elites, Yang opted for a much more quiet approach. She fished out a key card from her robes and inserted into the slot by the door. It was provided by Divine, assuring her that it could access any room in the building, courtesy of Jordan's partner. With a satisfying click, the door opened and Yang stepped silently into the apartment.

'So this is where Ruka and her brother live. It is actually… quite lovely.' Yang had to admit to herself. It was dark, all the lights being off. She took in a quick glance around the place and walked toward a few nearby doors. The middle one turned out to be the bathroom. Yang figured the two rooms on either end must be the ones where the children were sleeping. She decided to check the door on the left end first. Look with the front door, she checked to see if the door was locked. It wasn't. Very slowly, Yang turned the knob and opened the door, not making so much as a squeak. She seemed to have guessed right. The bedroom she looked into seemed to have belonged to a little girl. 'This must be Ruka's bedroom.'

She gazed over at the bed, and saw a little lump covered in sheets. Thinking her plan to get Ruka would be easier than she thought, she strode in the room and stopped at the head of the head of the bed. She planned it in her mind on her way here: Once she finds Ruka asleep, she would wake her up and use her powers to make her cooperative enough to come with her willingly without a fuss. A child in her mostly sleepy state, Ruka would be much less likely to resist when Yang "convinced" her to come with her and leave her family and friends behind. Yang actually prefer this option over being very forceful. She actually wished no harm to the child, even if she was an enemy of her leader and their organization.

'Now then, little Ruka… time to wake up and leave with me. One day, you will understand why this must be done.' Yang then reached over, pulled back the cover, and gasped in surprise. The lump she saw wasn't the sleeping form of a little girl. It was a bunch of pillows stuffed under the sheets. 'She's not here! How? Where could she be?' Yang then realized she had been duped. The only reason why her target's bed would be left like this was because she knew her would be captor would be coming. But there was no way Ruka could know about this. So how could she…? Before Yang could figure anything out, she heard the door slammed shut behind her. She ran back to the door and tried to open it, only it wouldn't. 'Now what? Doors can only be opened and locked from the inside, so why can't I…?'

"What's the matter? Door won't open for you?" Asked a cocky voice that sounded like it belonged to a young boy. It was followed by "That's because I jammed the knob so it wouldn't turn! hehe". Yang figured that had to be Ruka's brother, Rua. This confirmed that the twins had indeed known they were expecting company tonight and were prepared. This annoyed Yang, but it would take much more than a prank from a child to rile her up. The Elite merely sighed.

"Nothing more than a minor inconvenience." Yang said to herself. She considered using her powers to make the kid release her, but she didn't want to give that away just yet. Therefore, she went with a much less subtle approach. There was no point in being silent and sneaky when your enemies knew you were here. Yang strapped on and activated her Duel Disk, took out a card from her Deck, and played it. A few seconds later, the door was ripped off it's hinges and dropped to the floor.

Yang stepped out of the room, along with a white creature, which vanished right after. She looked around the apartment again, but she saw no sign of Rua. "Come out here! I'm ready for you!" Came another confident voice, this one sounding like a much younger girl. Yang turned to the door that led out onto the pool. There, standing not far from the pool, stood Ruka herself. Her brother Rua stood beside her. Yang was surprised to see Ruka had her own Duel Disk strapped on, ready for a Duel. Not feeling a bit of fear, Yang calmly stepped outside to meet her target.

On her end, Ruka was visibly disturbed by the sight of Yang. When she first came in, the twins fully expected their uninvited guest to pay a visit to their parents' bedroom. Instead, she went straight for Ruka's, surprising them. They didn't know it was Yang exactly at the time; the cloak concealed her mask pretty well in the dark. After Rua quickly and temporarily trapped the Elite in his sister's room, Ruka got out her Duel Disk and prepared for the inevitable confrontation. She was ready by the time the Elite got herself out. When Ruka finally got a good look at the Psychic Duelist, she started to feel dread. She remembered Aki's warning about Yang's abilities and prayed that she could fight against her powers and bring her down. Good thing her brother was around to support her.

"Rua, it's her. It's Yang." She said, sounding more than a little nervous.

"The one with the heart changing powers, right?" Rua asked, which his sister replied with a nod. "Are you sure you don't want me to duel with you?" Ruka had put on a determined expression on her face.

"I'll be fine. I can duel one on one like everyone else. Just stay by me, Rua." She advised. Her brother nodded, affirming her that he wasn't going anywhere.

Yang stopped when she was at a respectable distance from the siblings. "The Signer twins, Rua and Ruka. I must admit, you caught me off guard by attempting to trap me back there. You should have known that wouldn't work on a Psychic Duelist."

Rua grunted. "We knew that."

"The whole point was to buy a little time for us to prepare for you. It's just us now, Yang." Ruka added.

The Elite was stunned to hear the twins knew her name. "How did you both know who I was and I would be here tonight?" Yang asked.

"We were warned about you by Aki and found out one of Divine's Elites would coming here." Ruka answered. "We just didn't know it would be you specifically."

"Too bad for you that our parents aren't here. You won't be touching them, now or ever!" Rua said proudly, believing they were one step ahead. Yang tilted her head slightly.

"Your parents? I have no interest in them." She pointed her finger at her true target. "The one I have come for is you… Ruka." Now it was the twins' turn to be stunned.

'Me?! Yang was sent after me?!' Ruka thought, not prepared for that response.

"What do you want with my sister?!" Rua demanded.

"Master Divine is most interested in her connection to the Spirit World and the ability to communicate with Duel Monster Spirits. He has been wanting her to join us for some time. If our plans had not been disrupted, we would not be facing each other as enemies now." Yang said.

"I will never join the Arcadia Movement!" Ruka declared, appalled by the idea of becoming part of a group intending to wipe out humanity. "They are evil! I won't do it, just like Aki has no intention of going back to them!"

"You Arcadia jerks have no chance of taking Ruka away! Not while I'm here!" Rua declared as he wrapped an arm protectively around his sister.

Yang glared through her mask at the male twin. Not letting any irritation show, she lifted up her Duel Disk, inserted her Deck and Extra Deck, and activated it again. "Before this night is done, Ruka, you will leave here with me of your own choice." She said in a serene tone that unnerved the twins.

"Never!" Ruka retorted loudly, activating her Disk and beginning their battle.

"DUEL!"

(Ruka: 4000) (Yang: 4000)

"I will allow you the first move." Yang said.

"Okay then. My turn! Draw!" Ruka had to be cautious. It was not just her opponent's psychic abilities, but also her dueling tactics she was wary of. "I Summon Sunlight Unicorn!" (LIGHT; Level 4; ATK: 1800; DEF: 1000) A white unicorn with a light blue mane, tail, and horse feather hairs. "I activate Sunlight Unicorn's Monster Effect! Once per turn, I can reveal the top card of my Deck! If it is a Magic card, I can add it to my hand! Any other card goes to the bottom of my Deck!" Ruka took her Deck's top card and smiled. "It is Ancient Forest, a Field Magic card! It goes to my hand, but not for long! Now I play Ancient Forest!" At once, the area around the trio became a lush, green forest bathed in sunlight. "While this card is in play, Monsters can be Normal or Special Summoned in Defense Mode, but they can't be Set or changed from Attack Mode to Defense Mode! I then Set 1 card facedown and end my turn."

"A decent start. My turn! Draw!" After studying her cards, Yang glanced at Ruka. 'Before I bend Ruka to my will, I need to weaken her resolve… by wearing her down.' She then made her move. "First, I Summon Suanni, Dracomet of Fire! (FIRE; Level 4; ATK: 1900; DEF: 0) A red, lion faced dragon appeared on it's master's Field. It also bearer a blue stone inside a six sided star on it's chest. "Battle! Suanni, Dracomet of Fire, attack Sunlight Unicorn! Draco Flame!" A burst of bright red fire from the beast's mouth incinerated Ruka's only Monster.

(1900 - 1800 = 100)

(Ruka: 4000 - 100 = 3900)

"You've just triggered another Effect of Ancient Forest!" Ruka revealed. "If a Monster attacks, that Monster is destroyed at the end of the Battle Phase! Suanni is now gone!" Yang's only Monster was instantly disintegrated, but she shrugged it off.

"Inconsequential. I now activate Suanni's own Effect! When it is destroyed by battle or card effect and goes to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon another "Dracomet" Monster from my Deck in Defense Mode, except Suanni! I choose Bixi, Dracomet of Water in Defense Mode! (WATER; Level 2; ATK: 0; DEF: 2000) A blue, long bearded turtle with the same stone in the star on the chest materialized in it's counterpart's place. "I next play a Magic card, One for One! By discarding a Monster from my hand to the Graveyard , I can Special Summon a Level 1 Monster from my hand! I discard Bi'an, Dracomet of Earth to Special Summon a Level 1 Tuner Monster, Liwen, Dracomet of Light in Defense Mode!" (LIGHT; Level 1; ATK: 0; DEF: 0) A pure white, armless and legless dragon beast appeared next to Bixi. "Now I Set my remaining 2 cards facedown and end my turn."

"That's the Monster she used to break out of Ruka's room!" Rua exclaimed, referring to the Tuner.

'She's preparing for powerful Synchro Summon.' Ruka deduced. 'I need to be ready to do the same.' "My turn! Draw!" The little girl found a way to buy some time and was going to act on it. "Thanks to the Effect of Ancient Forest, I can Summon Rose Bird in Defense Mode!" (WIND; Level 4; ATK: 1800; DEF: 1500) A green, planet like bird with three roses on it appeared. "Next I play Swords of Revealing Light! This prevents you from attacking me for 3 turns!"

"I'm afraid not. Counter Trap open, Nine Branches of Dracomet! When my opponent activates a Magic or Trap card, or a Monster Effect, is activated while I control a "Dracomet" Monster, I can negate the activation and return that card to it's controller's Deck! After that, I destroy 1 other "Dracomet" card I control! I will destroy Bixi, Dracomet of Water!"

"Darn it!" Ruka cursed frustratingly as her Magic card got sent back to her Deck before Yang's WATER Monster was destroyed.

"Now I activate Bixi's Effect! Just like with Suanni, I can Special Summon another "Dracomet" Monster form my Deck replace it, but in Attack Mode! This time I'm Special Summoning Pulao, Dracomet of Wind!" (WIND; Level 1; ATK: 0; DEF: 1800) A green, bird like dragon materialized next to Liwen.

Ruka groaned. 'I could switch Rose Bird to Attack Mode and destroy Pulao. That way both Yang's Monster and mine would be destroyed; hers from battle and mine through Ancient Forest's Effect. Then I could use Rose Bird's own Effect to give me more defenses. But the problem is Yang's other facedown card. It could prevent me from using my Monster's Effect. I've already tried and failed to stall her attacks. I better not take that chance.' Yang was definitely going to be a tough opponent. She just needed to figure out her strategy and beat it. "I end my turn." She said disappointingly.

"Don't let her frustrate you Ruka! You can kick her butt!" Rua encouraged. Ruka nodded at him, appreciative of his support.

"Your brother is wrong, as you will soon see. My turn! Draw!" Yang smiled behind her mask. 'Ruka will be much more receptive after this move.' "Since I control a "Dracomet" Tuner Monster, Liwen, I can play Dracomet Beckoning! This Magic card allows me to Special Summon as many "Dracomet" Monsters from my Graveyard as possible! Be revived Suanni, Bixi, and Bi'an!" (EARTH; Level 3; ATK: 1600; DEF: 0) A light yellow, striped dragon with the face of a tiger appeared with it's two previously destroyed counterparts.

"Her Field is full!" Rua exclaimed.

"The Effect of Dracomet Beckoning also reduces of one of my revived Monster's Levels by 2! I choose to downgrade Suanni!" Yang declared as her FIRE Monster went down to Level 2.

"She's going to use all her Monsters for a Synchro Summon!" Ruka realized.

"Exactly! I am Tuning my now Level 2 Suanni, Level 1 Pulao, Level 2 Bixi, and Level 3 Bi'an with my Level 1 Liwen! Wyrms who dwell in the Stars of the Heavens and Earth! Merge your elemental powers to create the mythical dragon that rules all! Synchro Summon! Appear! Chaofeng, Dracomet of Phantoms!" (LIGHT; Level 9; ATK: 2800; DEF: 2200) The new creature that emerged was perhaps the most beautiful Monster Ruka had ever seen. It appeared to be a multicolored winged serpent with the feet and head of a bird. It's scales and wings had nearly every color in the rainbow. It was also far bigger than the Monsters that was used to Summon it.

'Her Ace Monster!' Ruka thought, trying to remain calm. Yang seemed to sense it.

"You may not be so alarmed now, but my beast is more powerful than you would expect! All the non-Tuner Monsters I used give Chaofeng more benefits!" The Elite revealed.

"Like what?" Ruka asked, now starting to grow nervous.

"To start with, when Suanni is used for a Synchro Summon, that Synchro Monster gains 500 Attack and Defense Points!" Yang said when her Monster glowed red from the power up.

(Chaofeng, Dracomet of Phantoms' ATK: 2800 + 500 = 3300; DEF: 2200 + 500 = 2700)

"Not a big deal." Rua said, thinking it would matter that much.

"There is more! Because Pulao and Bixi were used as Synchro Materials, Chaofeng is now unaffected by the Effects of Magic and Trap cards respectively! Lastly, using Bi'an as a Material makes my Ace Monster unable to be destroyed by battle!"

"That's… not good." An actually nervous Ruka muttered.

"Finally, there is the Effect of Chaofeng itself! As long as it is on the Field after being Synchro Summoned, my opponent cannot activate the Effects of Monsters whose original Attributes are the same as the "Dracomet" Monsters used for it's Synchro Summon!"

"Wait. Weren't there…?" Rua started to ask but stopped himself when he heard his sister gasped in horror.

"Those Monsters each had a different Attribute! According to Yang, I can't use Effects from WIND, WATER, EARTH, FIRE, and LIGHT Monsters!"

"What?! So then… you can't use ANY of your Monsters' Effects?!" Rua shouted in shock. He knew that every single one of Ruka's Monsters, including Ancient Fairy Dragon, had most of those Attributes. None of them will be of much use now aside from battle. His sister merely shook her head in dismay.

"You see the magnitude of your problem, child. Then you know how l serious I am. Now you will feel my power." Yang said.

"Meaning?" Rua demanded.

"During the turn Dracomet Beckoning is used, a "Dracomet" Synchro Monster I control can attack directly!"

"Oh no!" Ruka and Rua shouted.

"Prepare yourself! Battle! Chaofeng, Dracomet of Phantoms! Direct Attack! Light of the Elements!" Chaofeng spread out it's wing and unleashed a wave of vibrant color that bypassed Rose Bird and struck Ruka… hard.

"Gaaaah!" Ruka shouted as she flew backward until she hit a wall that prevented her from falling off the building.

(Ruka: 3900 - 3300 = 600)

"RUKA!" Rua screamed as he dashed to his sister. He reached her as she was struggling to get up. "Ruka! Are you hurt?"

Ruka groaned from the pain. "That attack… it was powerful. It felt like… it burned."

Rua gritted his teeth. He hated to see his sister in such a state. 'Darn! I knew I shouldn't of let Ruka do this by herself!'

"Due to Chaofeng's Magic card immunity, it is not destroyed by Ancient Forest's Effect. I have done all I need to at this point. I end my turn." Yang declared before putting a hand to heart and held out the other toward Ruka. "Little Ruka, there is no need to continue suffering more of this painful confrontation. I do not wish to inflict anymore harm upon you. Please end this pointless struggle and leave with me. You will suffer no more, I promise." She told Ruka in a way like a mother would talk to a child.

"No more… suffering?" Ruka asked, hardly believing what she was feeling now. She started to think maybe she should follow Yang, despite knowing she shouldn't. 'This must be Yang's power. She's trying to… manipulate me.' Ruka felt Yang's words tugging at her, trying to convince her to go. She was having a much harder time than she thought. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad if she hadn't been attacked so hard a minute ago. She was aching and didn't want to suffer anymore…

Rua wouldn't have it as he stood between his sister and their enemy. "Stop that! I know what you're trying to do to Ruka! You are not getting her!" He said defiantly.

Yang sighed. "This is between me and Ruka. Stay out of it." She warned.

Rua didn't move. "No way! My sister is the world to me! I'm not letting you, Divine, or anyone from the Arcadia Movement take her away!"

Yang then moved the hand she was holding out at Ruka and redirected it at Rua. "Please calm down and step aside, Rua. I do not wish to harm you any more than your sister. She is going to a organization where she will be well taken care of, where her gift will be most appreciated. You must believe that."

Rua felt a nagging feeling inside himself he never felt before. He actually did start to feel calmer than he should be. He felt like he wanted to listen to Yang. However, Rua knew this was just her Psychic abilities twisting his feelings. He could not, would not, abandon his sister to that bad lady. 'I can't let Yang get to me! I cant't! How do I fight against her and save Ruka?' Then he thought of something. Yang was trying to do this in a calm, soothing way. Maybe he could resist by being the opposite? After slapping himself hard on the face a few times, he recalled the anger he felt at someone else that hurt his sister recently… and used that anger as a shield. "NO! NO YANG! I WILL NOT ABANDON RUKA TO YOU!"

Yang was shocked by Rua's response. His recent surge of anger caught her off guard. 'He's… he's actually resisting.' Still, she wasn't going to give up that easily either. "Rua, please move away. Your attitude will not help you in this situation. I am trying to avoid more unpleasantness."

Rua sneered. "SCREW YOU! I'M NOT GOING ANYWHERE, AND NEITHER IS MY SISTER! RUKA HAS BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH ALREADY! HER FEELINGS WERE HURT BY THE BIGGEST JERK FROM SCHOOL, AND NOW YOU DID THIS TO HER!" Rua pointed at the state his sister was in.

"You truly have my pity for that first incident." Yang went on. "However, I must do what I feel is necessary for my mission. I promise you, Ruka will be alright from now on. I will personally watch over her." Rua felt even more enraged by the thought.

"I'M HER BROTHER! IT IS MY DUTY TO TAKE CARE OF HER! AND NOT JUST ME AND MY PARENTS! YUSEI, AKI, JACK, AND CROW! THEY HAVE WATCHED OVER RUKA TOO! NONE OF THEM WOULD LET YOU TAKE HER, AND NEITHER WILL I! SO BACK OFF!"

Right then, the Signer Birthmarks on Rua and Ruka's arms glowed. As they did, Ruka's thoughts, and feelings, began to clear. She felt her brother's feelings through their Birthmarks. 'Rua… I can feel it. You won't let Yang manipulate you to leave me. You're fighting her… just like what I should be doing.' Even though she still hurt from Yang's Monster attack, Ruka gradually got up again. Once she felt steady on her feet, she glared strongly at her opponent. "Yang! I told you before! I'm NOT going with you! I will fight you and bring you down in our Duel! Now stop messing with us!"

Yang stepped back a little, shocked that Ruka also resisted her. 'How? Ruka shouldn't be able to resist me, not after being inflicted with that much pain. How could those two be so… insolent. They are behaving even worse than…' Yang shook her head, forcing the thought out of her mind. When she spoke again, she didn't sound so calm anymore. "Very well, then. It seems I will have to complete my mission the hard way. Proceed with your next turn, and then I shall end this when my turn comes again."

"I will be the one that ends it! My turn! Draw!" Ruka retorted as she drew her next card. She smiled upon seeing it. 'Looks like now's as good time as any for one of my Deck's new additions…'

"Do not forget, child, that Chaofeng is practically unstoppable now. Nothing in your Deck can do anything about it." Yang reminded the little girl, who glared back.

"That isn't true! I have something I know you haven't seen! I Summon a Tuner Monster, Moon Lily!" (DARK; Level 3; ATK: 300; DEF: 100) A dark purple lily appeared next to Rose Bird.

"A DARK Monster?! You shouldn't have any of those!" Yang shouted.

"I do now!" Ruka replied. "I am Tuning my Level 4 Rose Bird with my Level 3 Moon Lily! The holy light of protection, now cross and become eternal life! Synchro Summon! A regal birth! Ancient Fairy Dragon!" (LIGHT; Level 7; ATK: 2100; DEF: 3000) Ruka's blue, fairy winged dragon emerged at last. "Ancient Forest's Effect allows me to Summon it in Defense Mode!"

"It matters not what battle position your dragon is in. It is a LIGHT Monster, so you can't use it's Effects." Yang pointed out. Ruka still smiled.

"Actually… I can." She said, confusing Yang.

"Excuse me?" She said.

"When I Synchro Summon a non-DARK Synchro Monster using Moon Lily as Material, that Synchro Monster becomes DARK!" Ruka revealed. To prove her point, her Ace Monster's light blue skin had taken on a darker tone. "That's not all! While a Synchro Monster that was Synchro Summoned using Moon Lily is on my Field, any LIGHT Monsters I Normal or Special Summon aren't affected by the Effects of my opponent's Monsters!

"Alright! Now Ruka can use the Effects of Ancient Fairy Dragon and her other LIGHT Monsters!" Rua yelled happily.

"Damn." Yang cursed that Ruka had found a way past her Effect block strategy. Not only that, DARK was the one Monster Attribute that Chaofeng did not affect. Ruka's Ace now became the very thing her own Monster couldn't do anything about.

The dragon then turned and nodded at Ruka, who nodded back. "I activate Ancient Fairy Dragon's first Effect! Once per turn, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Monster from my hand, but I must skip my Battle Phase this turn! I Special Summon Regulus the Fairy Beast in Defense Mode!" (LIGHT; Level 4; ATK: 1700; DEF: 1000) An armored, horned white lion appeared next to Ruka's dragon. "When Regulus is Normal or Special Summoned, I can add a Magic or Trap card that mentions "Ancient Fairy Dragon" from my Deck to my hand! I add a Trap card called Ancient Sunshine to my hand! Now for Ancient Fairy's other Effect! Once per turn, I can destroy a Field Magic card! I'll destroy Ancient Forest!" With that, the sunshine and the trees vanished, restoring the dueling fIeld back to normal. "After that, I gain 1000 Life Points and add a Field card from my Deck to my hand! I'm taking The World of Spirits!"

(Ruka: 600 + 1000 = 1600)

"Keep it up Ruka!" Rua cheered.

"With both my most trusted Monsters in play, I will Set 2 cards facedown and end my turn." Ruka declared, happy she found a way to turn the tide.

"You surprise me, Ruka. You didn't seem like the type of Duelist to have DARK Monsters in their Deck. Why would you make such a change?" Yang asked out of both annoyance and curiosity.

"Dark doesn't always have to mean "evil". My Moon Lily was an example of something that may look bad on the outside, but is really pure on the inside. You just have to see past the surface." Ruka explained.

While Yang found Ruka's words to be insightful, she couldn't allow herself to be distracted now. She needed to fulfill her mission. "Be that as it may be, it does not change anything for our Duel. My turn! Draw!" She had found what she needed to win, and didn't hesitate to use it. "I have drawn the card that will allow me triumph over you! I activate a Continuous Magic card called Leyline of Dracomet! This card provides a variety of Effects depending upon the number of different Attributes the "Dracomet" Monsters in my Graveyard have! I count 5, so it gains that many Effects! One of them gives 500 Attack Points to all "Dracomet" Monsters I control!" Ruka watched as Yang's Ace grew stronger.

(Chaofeng, Dracomet of Phantoms' ATK: 3300 + 500 = 3800)

'It's Attack Power is almost at 4000.' Ruka noted.

"What's more, all your face-up Defense Monsters are now switched to Attack Mode!" Both Ancient Fairy Dragon and Regulus changed battle positions. "Despite what you might be thinking, I'm not having Chaofeng strike you down for the win. Not just yet. Instead, I can use the most powerful Effect of Leyline of Dracomet that will leave your Field wide open! It won't affect Chaofeng, so it will still be right here to finish the job!"

"Is she serious?!" Rua said, worrying for Ruka's safety again.

Ruka was much calmer than her brother was. 'Sounds like her card can destroy all of my cards so she can finish me with a direct attack. If that's the case…'

"Your little comeback did not amount to much, it seems. Prepare to lose it all!" Cried out Yang. "I activate… !"

However, Ruka didn't give Yang the chance to compete her move. "Trap card open, Fairy Wind! It destroys all other face-up Magic and Trap cards on the Field!"

"No!" Yang yelled, not happy that she lost a key card after just playing it.

"Then for each card destroyed, we both take 400 points of damage!" Ruka continued. "Leyline of Dracomet is the only other face-up card, so now it can't help you anymore!" With that, Chaofeng's Attack Points went back down to 3300. Then both Duelists took a hit to their Life Points.

(Ruka: 1600 - 400 = 1200)

(Yang: 4000 - 400 = 3600)

"Nice one Ruka!" Rua called out.

"I am becoming annoyed with your tactics." Yang said testily. "Battle! Chaofeng, Dracomet of Phantoms, attack Ancient Fairy Dragon!" Once again, the dragon like creature had spread out it's wings for another assault…

"I banish Moon Lily from my Graveyard to switch an Attack Mode LIGHT Monster I control to Defense Mode, and make that Monster the new attack target! Now you must attack Regulus!" Ruka countered.

"Tch. If I must. Chaofeng, attack Regulus the Fairy Beast instead!" Yang said, changing her Monster's target.

"You won't touch him either!" Ruka told her. "Counter Trap, Fairy Breath! This can only be activated when I have Ancient Fairy Dragon and another face-up Monster of my choice! That chosen Monster, Regulus, will gain 3000 Defense Points until the End Phase! Regulus isn't going anywhere!" The bright flash of color hit a bright shield covering Regulus, who pushed it back with a mighty roar.

(Regulus' DEF: 1000 + 3000 = 4000)

Yang cursed under her breath as her failed attack rebounded and damaged her Life Points further.

(4000 - 3300 = 700)

(Yang: 3600 - 700 = 2900)

"Even though I couldn't destroy either of your Monsters, my own isn't destroyed either due to it's protection from battle destruction." Yang said to her adolescent opponent. "You can't win by continuing to play defense. But before much longer, I will defeat you Ruka. I end my turn." As Yang ended her turn, Fairy Breath's Effects wore off and Regulus' Defense Points returned to 1000.

"Don't underestimate me, Yang! My turn! Draw!" Ruka looked up at her own Ace Monster.

Ancient Fairy Dragon turned to her partner. "Ruka, you have done well against this manipulative adversary. I believe now is the time to show her what we are truly capable of… together."

Ruka nodded. "Yes… Together." Once again, the twin Birthmarks glowed bright red.

Rua could feel it. 'Oh man! Ruka's about to pull off something real cool, I know it!'

Yang stood silently, while getting an increasingly bad feeling. 'What is this? Why do I feel… uneasy?' She was about to get her answer.

"Okay, here goes! I play my new Field Magic card, The World of Spirits!" An open valley surrounded by nearby mountains under a bright blue sky covered the area now. Ruka smiled fondly; her new Field card reminded her of the actual Spirit World she stayed in when she was much younger. "When The World of Spirits is activated, I can add a Monster that mentions "Ancient Fairy Dragon" from my Deck to my hand! I'm choosing Kuribon the Fairy Spirit! Next, because I control Ancient Fairy Dragon, I can Special Summon Kuribon the Fairy Spirit from my hand and as a Tuner!" (LIGHT; Level 1; ATK: 300; DEF: 200) Ruka's furry little friend materialized next to her Ace. "Also, due to the Effect of The World of Spirits, my Special Summoned Monster switches from Attack Mode to Defense Mode!"

'Another Tuner?' Yang thought, surprised and worried at the same time.

"I play Fairy Wall! During the turn I Special Summon a "Fairy" Monster, my opponent cannot activate any cards and all opposing Monster Effects are negated! Now you can't stop what's coming next!" Ruka declared.

Yang's eyes widened with shock behind her mask. "That means Chaofeng loses it's all its Effects!" She realized too late. With the loss of all it's powerful Effects, it's Attack and Defense also went back down to 2800 and 2200 respectively. "How dare you?!" She accused.

"Now Chaofeng can be destroyed by battle!" Rua said excitedly.

"That's right!" Ruka replied. "I am now Tuning my Level 7 Ancient Fairy Dragon with my Level 1 Kuribon the Fairy Spirit! Eternal Sun, become the symbol of life itself! Let it provide warmth, beauty, and protection for all that it's light touches! Synchro Summon! Appear! Ancient Fairy Life Dragon!" (LIGHT; Level 8; ATK: 2500; DEF: 3300) The new form of Ruka's Ace was breathtaking. It wore elaborate golden armor over it's body with gold rings on it's arms and several gold and purple bands on it's tail. It also had a rainbow flower like design on the waist. Like her Tuner, Ruka's new Synchro was also switched to Defense Mode via her Field card.

"Wow!" Rua said, amazed by the dragon's new form.

"Since Ancient Fairy Life Dragon was Synchro Summoned, I can draw another card!" Ruka drew her card and smiled. "Also, because it was used in a Synchro Summon for a LIGHT Synchro Monster during the turn I played Fairy Wall, Ancient Fairy Dragon returns to my Extra Deck!"

"Your new dragon is quite a sight." Yang reluctantly admitted. "However, it's Attack Power is still not enough to overcome my Chaofeng. All you did was provide yourself an adequate defense, but I shall break through it on my next turn!"

"You won't!" Ruka said. "I play the Equip card I just drew, Ancient Decree! The LIGHT "Dragon" Synchro Monster I Equip with Ancient Decree gains 300 Defense Points!" The new dragon glowed bright purple from the power up.

(Ancient Fairy Life Dragon's DEF: 3300 + 300 = 3600)

"Powering up your defenses means nothing!" Yang protested.

"You're wrong about that!" Ruka retorted, knowing her reason from raising her new dragon's Defense Points a little even though they were already higher than Chaofeng's Attack Points. "The Effect of Ancient Fairy Life Dragon allows "Ancient Fairy Dragon" and Monsters that mention it, including itself, to attack while in face-up Defense Mode! When they do, their Defense Points are taken into account instead of their Attack Points!

"What?! No! This simply cannot be!" Yang said, seemingly unable to comprehend what was happening.

"Here it comes Yang! Battle! Ancient Fairy Life Dragon, attack Chaofeng, Dracomet of Phantoms! Life Shine!" A light just like intense sunshine came bursting out of the dragon's wings and obliterated it's opposition.

(3600 - 2800 = 800)

(Yang: 2900 - 800 = 2100)

"Alright Ruka! You took out her Ace! She's got nothing now!"

'Maybe, but the Duel's not over yet.' Ruka said mentally. She doubted Yang would just give up after losing her best Monster. "I'm done for now. I end my turn."

Yang hung her head… and slowly tightened her fists. At the same time, a black aura began to surround her, which also darkened the black half of her mask. "You… unruly… ungrateful… brats!" Yang yelled as she snapped her head up again.

The twins could tell the unsettlingly calm Elite finally lost it. "Uh… Ruka." Rua said shakily.

"I know." Ruka replied. "This looks bad."

Yang's jagged aura shook with her uncontrollable rage as she pointed a finger at the children. "Rua! You refused to shut up and get out of my way! Your behavior is inexcusable! And you, Ruka! I gave you the chance to come with me willingly! I offered you a home and protection within the Arcadia Movement! Instead, you defied me and destroyed my precious Monster! I see now that I will have to resort to extreme violence to complete my mission after all!"

"You tried to twist our emotions to make us more obedient to you! It was wrong!" Ruka retorted. Yang ignored all that.

"From here on out, I will not play so nice! One way or another, I WILL bring you to Master Divine! My turn! Draw! I play Path of Dracomet to shuffle 3 "Dracomet" Monsters in my Graveyard back into my Deck, then I get to draw 2 more cards! I'm returning Pulao, Bixi, and Suanni! Then I play Pot of Desires, which lets me draw another 2 cards by banishing the top 10 cards from my Deck!"

"What is she planning now?" Ruka asked herself warily.

"Then, since I have at least 3 "Dracomet" Monsters in my Graveyard, I can banish Dracomet Beckoning from my Graveyard to destroy one face-up Magic or Trap on my opponent's Field! I'm destroying The World of Spirits!"

Ruka gritted her teeth when her precious Field card was blown to pieces.

"After that, one opposing Defense Monster is switched to Attack Mode! I'm choosing your Ancient Fairy Life Dragon!" Ruka's upgraded Ace was now in it's Attack Position. "Now I Summon my own dark Tuner Monster: Jiaotu, Dracomet of Darkness!" (DARK; Level 2; ATK: 0; DEF: 2000) An armored grey and black dragon like lion with red eyes appeared. "Now comes Jiaotu's Effect! Once per turn, when I control no other Monsters, I can send 2 "Dracomet" cards from my hand to the Graveyard so I can Special Summon 2 "Dracomet" Monsters from my Deck, with one having 0 Attack Points and the other with 0 Defense Points. However, they will both be banished during the End Phase! I discard Pinnacle of Dracomet and Creation of Dracomet to Special Summon the 0 Attack Point Pulao and 0 Defense Point Taotie, Dracomet of Evil!" (DARK; Level 5; ATK: 2200; DEF: 0) A lion dragon behemoth with dark red markings on its body emerged next to Yang's Tuner.

"I'm really not liking this!" Rua said in a panicky tone.

"Witness Ruka, the result of your defiance against me! I am Tuning my Level 5 Taotie with my Level 2 Jiaotu! Darkness that the Heavens cannot conceal, unleash your wrath upon the Earth and all that stands against you! Synchro Summon! Emerge! Yaizer, Dracomet of Wickedness!" (DARK; Level 7; ATK: 2600; DEF: 2100) A gargantuan dark grey dragon wearing violet shoulder and knee armor plates took the place of the two Monsters used for it's Summon. It was far bigger than Chaofeng was, and much more menacing.

"Do not be afraid Ruka. Despite the evil that creature and it's master reek of, we will still prevail. For the light we carry is much stronger than their darkness." Said the voice of Ancient Fairy Life Dragon.

"I believe you." Ruka responded, knowing things would be alright.

"Due to using Taotie as a Synchro Material, control of Yaizer cannot be switched! As for Yaizer itself, it cannot be targeted by my opponent's card effects on the Field! Next comes Yaizer's Monster Effect! Once per turn, I can destroy a "Dracomet" Monster I control and a card you control! I will have Yaizer destroy my Pulao and your Regulus the Fairy Beast!" Two red lightning bolts erupted from the dark creature's wings. One struck and obliterated Pulao, and the other was streaking towards Ruka's faithful lion.

"I banish Fairy Wall to Special Summon a LIGHT "Fairy" Monster from my Graveyard! Come back, Kuribon the Fairy Spirit!" The brown furball returned with a loud "Kuri". "I activate Kuribon's other Monster Effect! If "Ancient Fairy Dragon" or a Monster that mentions it would be destroyed by a card effect, I can return Kuribon to my hand instead!" At once, Kuribon glowed bright white. blocking the red lightning from hitting its target before it faded out of sight.

"Thanks for the save Ruka!" Regulus said to the girl with a toothy grin. Ruka smiled and nodded back.

"Defying me yet again! You disrespectful twerp!" Yang insulted. "Time to punish you for your poor behavior with a brutal defeat! Battle! Yaizer, Dracomet of Wickedness, attack Ancient Fairy Life Dragon! Darkness of the Stars!" A burst of black sparkling energy came out of the beast's mouth and headed straight for Ruka's upgraded Ace.

"But Yaizer isn't strong enough to wipe out Ruka's Life Points!" Rua pointed out.

"That's where this comes in! Trap card open, Brutality of Dracomet! When a "Dracomet" Monster I control battles an opponent's Monster, my Monster's Attack and Defense Points double during damage calculation, but it will be destroyed at the end of the Damage Step! My Monster is now far superior to your wretched dragon of light!" Yaizer was covered by the same dark aura as its master while it grew stronger.

(Yaizer, Dracomet of Wickedness' ATK: 2600 x 2 = 5200; DEF: 2100 x 2 = 4200)

"If that attack hits, Ruka will lose!" Rua said fearfully.

"I have you now, little Ruka! With this victory, my mission to take you to Master Divine shall be fulfilled!" Yang declared with a crazed laugh.

"I'm still not going anywhere!" Ruka shot back confidently, stopping Yang's laugh.

"Excuse me?" She said once more, confused by what she heard.

"You played your Trap of darkness, and now I'll play one from the light! Trap card open, Ancient Sunshine! This can only be activated when I have Regulus face-up on my Field! By banishing Ancient Fairy Dragon from my Extra Deck, I can inflict 2100 points of damage to you! After that, I must destroy all cards I control! I don't need to worry about that last part, since this will stop you here and now Yang!"

"NO! YOU CAN'T DO THAT! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO LOSE AND LEAVE WITH ME! NOOO!" Yang could do nothing more than watch as a golden flash from behind Regulus and struck down the unstable Elite Psychic Duelist.

(Yang: 0)

As Yang hit the ground, her mask flew off, revealing her true face. Ruka gasped in great shock. She recognized the woman she had just defeated, but she couldn't quite believe it.

"What? It can't be. Is that… Sly's mother?"

To be continued.
