Hello all Storm here with the last chapter of Act 1! Here we'll be wrapping up Act 1, with everything coming to ahead here, the kids confronting Obito to save Kakashi, Kabuto and Sasori developing NinTech and a bond being damaged beyond repair. So, without further ado.
I own nothing
Tayuya wasn't sure how long she was in the basement, having no way to tell time and the only light being from the blood-stained window. Leaving her alone in the dark, with only her fear and pain at what happened. Before soon she heard the lock being undone and the door opening, wiping her eyes when she saw Lee, Tenten and Neji walking numbly down the stairs with pain-filled looks on their faces. Making the redhead realize they must've seen Gai's body outside.
Getting up, Tayuya went over to them as the three began crying over the death of their surrogate father, not fighting it when Tayuya hugged all three of them.
"We…we saw everything." Tenten said tearfully, the three having seen the attack, the Anbu be slaughtered, Gai be killed.
"Ga…Gai. They…" Cried Lee, not believing Gai is really dead.
"What about Kakashi?" Tayuya asked, trying to remain calm and focused, and right now she needed to know where they took Kakashi.
"Th-they took him." Stuttered Neji, the Uzumaki wanting to feel some relief that he could still be alive.
"Where?" Said Tayuya, hoping wherever it is, she and the others can get there in time.
*Cannery*
Kakashi groaned as he began regaining consciousness, his vision blurry as he was being dragged somewhere. Noticing Hibachi had returned to normal but seemed to be convulsing. While also hearing the sound of something being hammered below him.
"It's a little crude, I admit. The base violence necessary for change. But we both know the topside won't listen to anything else." Obito said, looking down at his followers worked on making weapons and loading up vials of the purplish-black liquid, with Kakashi grunting as he was thrown against the railing.
"Even with your monsters, you won't win a war against Konoha." Said Kakashi, knowing the only thing he'll do is get more people killed.
"I don't have to. I just need to scare them. Enough to where they won't dare set foot in the underground again." Replied Obito, not needing to win against Konoha, he just needed them scared enough that they'll stay out of the Undercity.
"You'll get people killed. For what? Pride? Revenge?" Kakashi asked, wondering if Obito's doing this because of his pride or revenge for what happened.
"For respect." Obito said, sounding insulted that he'd think he did all this for something as petty as pride or revenge.
"Opportunity. Everything they've denied us." Said Obito, standing over his former friend.
"You had my respect. The Lanes' respect, but that…that was never enough for you." Kakashi retorted, knowing out of all of them Obito was always the most ambitious.
Maybe it wasn't obvious when he was younger, having never acted like someone with great ambition with his personality. But for those that knew him, they could see beneath the goofball attitude and what he could be like to those who crossed him.
"We shared a vision, Kakashi. A dream of freedom. Not just for the Lanes, but the whole of the underground united as one. One people, one nation, standing together." Obito said, crouching down in front of him, thinking of the dream they once shared.
"Do you even remember?" Questioned Obito, wondering if all the time he spent as the Anbu's lapdog made him forget.
"I trusted you. And you betrayed me." Obito stated, remembering what Kakashi did to him years ago.
The feeling of water filling his lungs, the panic and struggle for air, toxic water leaking into his damaged eye, then…the stillness. The peace of being underwater, the calmness he felt, fighting for the urge to breathe one last breath. Then the feeling of taking Kakashi's knife and cutting it across his eye, giving him the chance to escape. He never forgot that kind of betrayal, or how it made him who he is now.
"What I did to you…I've never forgiven myself for what I had done. You were my brother." Said Kakashi, having regretted what he did for so many years, wishing he could've taken it back.
"…No, you still don't understand." Obito muttered while bringing his hand up to his damaged eye, a constant reminder of what he went through.
"Can you imagine what it's like? When your blood mixes with the filth and the river toxin eats through your nerves. Oh, I hated you for what you'd done. But as time passed, so did my hate. And I was left with an understanding. The only way to defeat a superior enemy is to stop at nothing. To become what they fear." Said Obito, having never forgotten the lessons he learned in that moment between life and death.
"I hated you, but you kept my respect. Until you made peace with them. Played lapdog after everything we've suffered." Said Obito, having still respected Kakashi even after his betrayal, up until he chose to make peace with those who oppressed them their entire lives.
"I had no choice." Kakashi stated, having done what he did to spare those still alive.
"Perhaps. But now you do." Obito replied, taking out one of the vials looking at the contents within.
"Cursed Blood. We have the power. We can finally realize our dream, brother." Said Obito, knowing with Cursed Blood they'll have all the power they need to send the Anbu, the Council and everyone else in Konoha running scared.
"Look at what you've done. Gai. These kids. In fighting Konoha, you'd sacrifice everything that we are. It's not the way. Can't you see that?" Kakashi asked, hoping part of his old friend was still there, that he could see the madness behind this.
"Kill me, if you have to, but please spare the Lanes." Said Kakashi, willing to give his life as long as Obito didn't destroy the Lanes.
"You'd die for the cause, but you won't fight for one?!" Obito demanded, angry that he'd throw his life away in such a meaningless gesture, getting a quiet scoff from Kakashi.
"I'm just…not that man, anymore." Kakashi stated, having put his fighting days behind him.
"I'll show you what you really are." Retorted Obito as he stood up, intending to make Kakashi let the beast out of the cage again.
"Obito. Do you really think she would've wanted this?" Questioned Kakashi, hoping that'll get him to see sense, only for the Uchiha to keep walking.
"Rin isn't here, anymore. It's just us, brother." Obito said, snapping his fingers, having his follower drag Kakashi to the chair and get him ready for when the children come.
Groaning as he was dragged away, Kakashi looked at the other end of the walkway. Seeing Kagura there leaning against the wall, much to his despair at what Obito is planning to do and those who will join him.
*With Kabuto and Sasori*
Meanwhile, Kabuto and Sasori had snuck their way into the Academy to Sarutobi's lab to get the former's equipment to perform their experiment. With the redhead handing Kabuto the light as he knelt down in front of the lock, inserting one of the keys.
"So far, so good." Muttered Sasori, trading a look with Kabuto, knowing how close they were, only for them to freeze when a light shined on them.
"A little late to be working, isn't it, boys." The person said, their voice showing they were female, making Kabuto and Sasori look to see who it was.
She was a young woman with fair skin, long, curly, blonde hair and light purple eyes with yellow eye-shadow, yellow lipstick and matching nail polish on her fingernails and toe nails. With her wearing a turquoise outfit with an exposed heart shape cut-out on her back, triangle shape cut-out bishop sleeves, a triangle shape cut-out on her chest, white wrist cuffs, pink triangle earrings, with black and red striped tights, and long white high-heeled sandals.
"Delta?!" Kabuto said, recognizing Councilor Amado's daughter, knowing how much trouble they'll be in that she's found them.
"You know when Tou-san told me of the trial this morning and the verdict, I thought that would be the end of it. But perhaps you're crazier than people thought, now risking exile for yourself and your friend here for your experiment. I'm not sure if that's stupidity or a strong conviction." Said Delta, looking at them with a bored expression, while Kabuto and Sasori felt their nerves rising as they tried thinking of an excuse.
"What a surprise to see you, huh?"
"Wait a minute, this isn't my bedroom. How could I have…"
"Please. We can prove that it works." Kabuto said since if they could get Delta to let them try and succeed, then they'll hopefully have her father on their side.
"Hmph. You couldn't earlier today. What changed so quickly now?" Delta asked, shining her light in their faces.
"We figured out how to stabilize it. Could you please not do that?" Said Sasori, shielding his eyes from the light.
"Aren't you the old monkey's assistant." Stated Delta, now recognizing Sasori.
"No, he's my new partner." Kabuto corrected, knowing they're in this together.
"Good for you. Now what exactly will you do if it works? The Council will just destroy it." Delta said, having seen and heard enough of the Council to know even if it works, they'll destroy anything involving Fūinjutsu.
"Sarutobi will recognize the potential." Sasori said, believing the Headmaster will see the potential for himself when they make it work.
"Oh, you don't get it, they do recognize the potential. And it scares all of them." Replied Delta smirking slightly.
"And what about your father?" Kabuto asked, wondering if it scared Amado.
"He recognizes anything worthwhile involves risks. But I think you should be more worried about the guard coming." Delta said when they heard footsteps and whistling, which was getting closer.
"Delta, this technology, it's real. And no matter what happens here, it's going to change our world. We should be the ones to lead it. Konoha, the land of progress, equality and innovation. I know it sounds impossible, but when have we ever-" Kabuto said quickly to convince her before the guard found them.
"Okay." Said Delta, surprising them slightly.
"Wh-what?" Questioned Kabuto.
"I said okay. I wasn't actually going to stop you; it's not really my concern or problem. If it works then maybe it'll be fun to watch what happens. If it doesn't then no skin off my bones, probably some off of yours though." Delta said while shrugging.
"Uh…thank you?" Kabuto said, not sure what else to say.
"Whatever, just try and offer me some entertainment with this little experiment, boys. Have fun and try not to blow yourselves up." Said Delta, turning on her heel, giving them a small wave as she went to distract the guard.
"…That was…" Said Kabuto, not sure what to make of that.
"Weird. Yes, she is. You'll get used to it." Sasori said, turning his light back on, having encountered Delta a few times and knew she tended to do whatever she wants that offered her the most entertainment.
Nodding slowly at his words, the two turned back to the door as Sasori unlocked it before moving inside to get what they need.
*Ichiraku*
"Well, if the Anbu hit tonight, we'll be ready." Kiba stated, looking over the weapons they had gathered in the event the Anbu showed up again.
With it consisting of a bat, Kakashi's tanto, a pair of makeshift gauntlets made of cast iron, a flare, and an empty bottle.
"Can I get the bat?" Chōji asked, wanting to use the bat.
"What?! No, no, no, no! I found it." Said Kiba, wanting the bat for himself.
"But I'm stronger, I should get it!" Said Chōji, thinking he'd be better to use it.
"Well, I'm faster! I should get it!" Kiba retorted, knowing he could hit more people faster than the Akimichi could.
"Then I call dibs on it, you have to respect calling dibs first." Chōji stated, believing he now gets the bat no matter what.
"I also found it first!" Said Kiba, refusing to let him take the bat.
"Does it really matter? We do have some Ninjutsu we can use too." Shikamaru said tiredly, not really caring for a weapon when he could use a few of his clans Ninjutsu.
"It's the principal of the matter!" Kiba said, aware they didn't really need weapons with the Ninjutsu they knew, but he still wanted the bat.
While the boys argued over who got what, Naruko was laying on her bed while looking over Tayuya's bunny sadly. Still feeling worried of what she was planning to do. Even more so, with how quickly Kakashi took off after seeing she had it. But when she heard the door open and close, Naruko looked up feeling relieved to see her sister came back. Quickly getting up and ran over to her.
"Tayuya?" Chōji said when they saw her expression, none of them having seen her look so freaked out and even…scared.
"Where's the-" Said Tayuya before Naruko threw her arms around her.
"You're back!" Naruko said, relieved Tayuya was back and safe, smiling up at her until she saw the look on her face, worrying the younger Uzumaki at what could've happened to leave her so shaken.
Unable to say anything, still reeling from what she had seen, Tayuya moved to the table to grab the gauntlets only for Kiba to stop her.
"Woah, hey. Slow down. What's going on?" Kiba asked, wondering what could've happened to have affected her this much.
"Gai's dead." Said Tayuya, shocking all of them at her words.
"Dead?" Questioned Shikamaru in disbelief, feeling lost at what could've happened that lead to Gai dying.
"They took Kakashi." Tayuya said, only worrying them further.
"Who took Kakashi?" Chōji asked, really worried to hear not only Gai was apparently killed, but someone took Kakashi, wondering if it was Anbu.
"I don't know. But I need to help him." Said Tayuya, feeling responsible for Gai being killed and Kakashi taken, since they only showed up because she tried turning herself over to the Anbu.
"We're going with you." Said Kiba immediately, not planning to let her go off alone, as the redhead breathed shakily.
"Whatever killed Gai…was like nothing I've ever seen. It tore him apart." Tayuya stated, having never seen a monster like that, something that fast and strong.
It honestly terrified her that there were actually things that could be worse than the Anbu, now seeing there were real monsters in the world.
"You aren't doing this alone, Tayuya." Shikamaru assured, Chōji and Kiba nodded in agreement, intending to go with her.
"He's our father too." Added Kiba, with Kakashi having helped look after and raise all of them, he was just as much their father as he was to the sisters.
While hearing Kakashi had been taken and Gai killed, Naruko went over and began packing away her bombs and gadgets. Refusing to be left behind for this.
"Do you know where they took him?" Chōji asked since they can't do anything if they didn't know where he was taken.
"Neji, Lee and Tenten followed them. The old cannery next to the docks. They said…" Replied Tayuya while grabbing her gauntlets, a bag and a flare.
Only to stop when she saw Naruko holding her own bag making the redhead sigh.
"I need you to sit this one out, Naruko." Tayuya said having no intention of her sister being anywhere near this
"What?" Said Naruko, confused and hurt her sister wouldn't let her come
"You're not coming." Stated Tayuya, only for Naruko to shake her head.
"I'm not afraid." Naruko replied, not wanting to be left behind, not when Kakashi needed them.
"Who's the girl who forgot she learned how to Surface Walk, four months ago, when the Anbu started searching the place?" Kiba muttered with a scoff before immediately shutting his mouth when Tayuya flashed him her "Shut Up!" look when Naruko flinched at the Inuzuka's comment.
"It's too dangerous." Tayuya said, needing her to see this wouldn't be like the jobs they went on, it's now life or death.
"But families stick together. You said it yourself." Said Naruko, feeling her nerves rising that Tayuya was leaving again.
"I know what I said…" Said Tayuya, feeling her own frustration start growing.
"I want to fight! I can help!" Naruko pleaded, wanting to show she can help.
"You're not ready!" Tayuya snapped, causing the blonde Uzumaki to flinch, feeling hurt that her sister thought she wasn't ready.
"You're all I have left. I can't lose you." Said Tayuya gently, cupping her cheek before pulling Naruko into a hug, not wanting to lose her sister too.
Not after everything else they've lost…
"Here. If they come for you, take this and run. Wherever you are, light it up, and I'll find you. I promise." Tayuya swore, handing Naruko a flare.
Leaning in, Tayuya pressed their heads together. Wanting to assure her that they'll be back safe and sound, as well as assure herself that she's doing the right thing. Before going up the stairs with the boys, giving her sister one last look before they left.
*With Kabuto and Sasori*
After getting into Sarutobi's lab, Kabuto and Sasori got to work on putting together the model they'll need to test their theory and harness the Gelel crystals power. With Kabuto putting the finishing touches on it as Sasori got one of the crystals.
"It's all here." Kabuto said, looking it over and checking the parts where the seals were inscribed, the most important parts since if they weren't perfect then it either wouldn't work or…most likely blow up in their faces.
Taking the crystal, Kabuto placed it in the center of the model before locking it into place, watching as the connected cables lit up with bluish-green electric-like energy.
"It's time…to crank it." Stated Sasori, seeing they had everything, now it's time to just turn it on and see if they're right.
"Are you sure you know what you're doing?" Kabuto asked, feeling a little concern that something could go wrong, not helped when Sasori looked unsure himself.
'Well…no risk, no reward.' Thought Kabuto as he began the process, causing the pedestal the crystal was in to open up, allowing it to float on its own.
Sasori then pressed the button with the model beginning to spin around as the crystal began releasing more energy, while the dials with the seals were spinning rapidly from the energy.
"I don't think it's gonna hold! Look at the buildup!" Said Kabuto, seeing it's releasing far more power than he anticipated.
"The resonance will stabilize! Trust me!" Sasori replied, confident that they just need to wait and see, making Kabuto look at him before turning back to the model.
After a few tense moments, both men were relieved as they saw the model started spinning more slowly while the crystals energy did stabilize.
"I told you it would work. All yours." Sasori said before allowing Kabuto to do the honors, as he looked at in amazement.
"Wow. It's never done that before." Muttered Kabuto, being reminded of when he saw the old man use its power.
"All right. Here we go." Kabuto muttered as he began turning the dial, with the seals around the crystal spinning around.
With this causing the energy to begin building up again, the two watching as Kabuto kept turning the dial. Only to cover their face when the crystal released a pulse of energy far greater than they expected.
"Disengage it!" Sasori said, now seeing the energy was building up too fast to contain.
It got worse when the suddenly the energy exploded out, shattering the window, getting Kabuto's attention as he reached to turn it off. Grunting when the shattered glass came flying back towards them, a shard cutting his cheek just as he managed to slam his hand down on the button, deactivating the device.
"That was…incredible." Said Sasori, amazed at what they've done, and now knowing they were right in their calculations.
They just needed to find the right sequences.
*With Naruko*
Naruko couldn't stop herself from crying as she sat on her bed, wiping her eyes but the tears wouldn't stop as they kept falling from her eyes and snot leaking from her nose. Letting out choked sobs as she looked at her toy monkey until she began twisting and pulling its head before it came off. Screaming as she threw it against the wall.
Holding her face, Naruko tried suppressing her cries, smacking her fist against her head to focus. Only to shriek as she couldn't stop herself! Feeling overwhelming hurt, pain and sadness that Tayuya left her behind, that she wasn't ready! Before she grabbed her bag and held it up, glaring down at the monkey!
How even without its head it still kept smacking its cymbals together. That would it still work even when she broke it, even when she felt herself falling apart with how her sister left her!
Until it finally stopped, causing Naruko to collapse to the floor crying, her bag falling down as everything inside spilled out. Only to hear something crackling, making her lift her head to find the gemstones she took seemed to be vibrating and emitting particles of light.
The sight of it made Naruko slowly calm down as her mind drifted back to the explosion, the light particles from it, the electric-like energy. The same kind that the gemstones were now releasing, as her eyes widened in realization and hope.
"I can help them." Naruko stated, knowing that she can help them, before quickly getting up and gathering her stuff.
*Cannery*
Meanwhile, Tayuya and the boys had arrived at the abandoned cannery. Climbing up to the roof to sneak inside before looking through the broken windows in the roof to see if there was anyone still inside, guarding the place, with it looking to be empty.
"Kiba." Tayuya said, the Inuzuka nodding as he took Akamaru out of his jacket.
"Ready Akamaru. Go on." Said Kiba, the puppy barking quietly before jumping down through the window to see if it really was empty and make sure Kakashi's inside.
After a few moments, they heard Akamaru let out a howl signaling that the coast was clear.
"Let's get Kakashi and get out." Said Tayuya as they jumped down onto the upper walkway, keeping low since even if it's safe they couldn't be too careful.
The kids soon spotting Kakashi in a room strapped to a chair, making them quickly rush over to him seeing how beaten up he was.
"Tayuya. What're you doing here?" Kakashi groaned as he opened his eye, seeing that they were here, before Tayuya hugged him upon seeing he's still alive.
"We're breaking you out. Shikamaru!" Said Tayuya while looking at the Nara.
"Right." Shikamaru said, taking out his lockpick to undo the restraints.
"How…how did you get in? There's guards…everywhere." Kakashi said, wondering how they were able to sneak in, only for the horrifying realization to dawn on him.
"It was easy. We found an open window and…" Tayuya replied before her eyes widened, mentally cursing herself for being so stupid to not suspect a trap.
"Oh Kami! You have to get out! Now!" Kakashi said urgently, not knowing what Obito could be planning to have let them get this far.
"Welcome." Obito announced, clapping slowly as he stepped forward on the opposite side of the walkway.
"You have my congratulations. But I'm afraid this will be a very short reunion." Stated Obito with his followers joining him, blocking any hope the kids had of escape.
"Have you heard the rumor? Kakashi The Coward fled town with his children and they were never seen again." Obito said, making the kids tense before Tayuya grabbed her gauntlets and put them on.
"Chōji, Kiba, see if you two can find another way out of here." Ordered Tayuya, not willing to let it end here, not when they've come this far.
"O-okay." Chōji said as he and Kiba began searching the room for any way out.
"You don't have to do this." Said Kakashi, knowing this was a fight far beyond anything they've dealt with before.
"Yes, I do. It's why you trained me, isn't it." Said Tayuya before walking forward.
"Tayuya!" Kakashi said, trying to break his restraints, only to be stuck watching as she stepped forward.
Unknown to everyone, outside the cannery, Naruko had soon arrived after getting everything she needed as she looked around before seeing the light on in the cannery.
'I'm ready.' Thought Naruko, running over to get up there and find an opening she can use.
While back inside, Tayuya let out a breath as she looked at Obito and his followers. With the biggest one, Jirōbō if she remembered the fat fuck's name correctly, stepping forward first. Raising her fists, ready to knock him down along with every last one of them until she got her hands on their boss.
'Tayuya!' Naruko thought as she climbed up the scaffolding, spotting her sister about to fight before climbing faster to help.
Nodding to his men to deal with the girl, Obito watched to see her and her friends be dealt with.
With Tayuya narrowing her eyes, ready to go.
"Crumbling Palm!" Jirōbō exclaimed as he thrust his palm at her with a shout intent to finish her in an instant, only for the redhead to parry the forward palm thrust.
'Hope you like a shock, fatass!' Tayuya thought, pulling her other fist back as sparks of purple electricity began appearing around her gauntlet.
Before with a shout, Tayuya threw her fist out, delivering a fierce uppercut to Jirōbō's jaw, with it being strong enough to actually lift him off the ground with blood flying out of his mouth. The punch only being intensified as the orangette felt electricity suddenly coursing through his body, shocking him.
The sight actually surprising Obito, both at her strength and having seen the purple electricity coming off her gauntlet. Even more so when he saw more surrounding both her gauntlets.
'Clever little move, Kakashi. You taught her your Purple Lightning.' Obito thought, seeing Kakashi did more than just raise these kids, before motioning the rest to deal with her.
Raising her fists again, Tayuya moved forward while ducking under a blade from the next thug, slamming her fist into her face and knocking her over the railing. Followed by sidestepping the next one, bringing her knee into his stomach and her fist down on his back. The next one managed to slam his knee into Tayuya's side, only for her to then smash her fist into his head which then impacted the railing.
As the redhead was dealing with the thugs, Shikamaru grit his teeth as he tried undoing the locks, grunting when he lost his grip on the pick. Feeling his nerves rising along with his desperation to free Kakashi.
"Shikamaru. Take a breath. You can do this." Kakashi instructed, knowing he can do it as long as he kept his cool.
Looking at him, the Nara nodded before inserting the pick again. Now focusing and keeping calm. While Chōji and Kiba kept searching for a way out, until they saw some of the plaster coming off the back wall, exposing the brick.
"We're gonna get you out of here." Kiba stated as he and Chōji pulled out some pipes to start breaking down the wall.
Tayuya grunted when one of the thugs got behind her, grabbing her in a headlock. Only for the Uzumaki to suddenly vanish in a cloud of smoke, being replaced by one of the unconscious thugs, much to their confusion. Only for the one who'd been holding Tayuya to cry out when her gauntlet slammed into the back of their head, sending them both falling over the rail. As Tayuya followed it by slamming her foot into the next thug, knocking them to the ground as she took them out with a stomp to their head.
'One!' Shikamaru thought when he managed to get the first restraint off, allowing Kakashi to free one of his legs, before getting the second one undone even faster than the first.
Back outside, Naruko had managed to climb up onto a ledge, looking through a small window to see Tayuya fighting off one thug after another. Seeing her sister was even using the Purple Lighting Kakashi showed her. Though she could see her sister was starting to get tired too, despite her Uzumaki Heritage giving her a vast amount of Chakra compared to the average person. The Purple Lightning is one of the few S-Rank Jutsu in existence and took a good amount of Chakra to use, with Tayuya only really having the bare basics down. Nor did she have any experience in using it for long durations of time.
'She's better than I anticipated. She really is her parents' daughter.' Obito thought, not expecting Tayuya would be able to fight off so many of his men before stopping Kagura when she stepped forward to deal with the redhead herself.
It's almost a shame, really. Had things played out a bit differently, Obito could see Tayuya being a valuable subordinate and a key figure in securing the Undercity's independence. Now though, she's only another obstacle to be eliminated.
"Ready to rise to the surface?" Obito asked while taking out a vial of Cursed Blood for Hibachi, knowing he wouldn't live much longer anyway, so he might as well prove useful one last time.
Taking the vial, Hibachi opened it and eagerly drank the Cursed Blood. Feeling the power surging through him once more. Just as Tayuya took out the last thug, panting slightly from how many she's had to fight along with the Chakra used.
Only to then see Hibachi's transformation, making her eyes widen at seeing he was the monster that killed the Anbu and Gai.
'Okay.' Tayuya thought, raising her fists, not planning to back down now.
"Shikamaru, hurry." Kakashi said urgently, knowing Tayuya couldn't fight that thing herself, even with Ninjutsu!
"Take this, you ugly fucker!" Said Tayuya as more electricity sparked around her fists before thrusting them forward releasing a stream of purple electricity!
She still didn't have it mastered to the same extent Kakashi did, but the redheaded Uzumaki could still use it to give someone a good shock! Leaving them stunned long enough for her to take them out. Now she just had to hope that it would still have the same effect on whatever this thing is…
Watching the lightning hit Hibachi and surround his body, Tayuya didn't wait before rushing forward to take him out. Jumping up onto the railing and into the air, raising her fists to bring down it on his head.
Only for her eyes to widen in shock when Hibachi's arm shot out instantly, wrapping around her neck, not even fazed by the electricity.
'Fuck.' Tayuya thought, hanging limply in Hibachi's grip, trying to break free only for her attempts to not do anything.
'Perfect.' Obito thought while smirking at seeing how, despite not having the Purple Lightning mastered to the same extent that Kakashi does, Hibachi wasn't even slowed down by Tayuya's use of it.
"Tayuya!" Naruko said upon seeing her sister in danger, knowing she needed to do something now!
"Obito! Let her go! This is between you and me!" Shouted Kakashi.
"You had your chance." Obito retorted, having given Kakashi the chance to join and he refused, now he can accept the consequences.
Tayuya gasped as she found it was getting hard to breathe before grunting when Hibachi tossed her across the walkway, losing one of her gauntlets in the process.
'No!' Naruko thought upon seeing Tayuya getting thrown by the Mutated Hibachi as she opened her bag, taking out her monkey that she modified a little for what she had planned.
Back inside, Tayuya began crawling back towards the room, knowing she needed to get in and lock that thing out, otherwise all of them would end up dead.
"Tayuya!" Kakashi said, worried as he saw Hibachi getting closer.
Until the Uzumaki managed to get inside, forcing herself up to her feet, before quickly closing and locking the door while hearing Hibachi trying to break it down.
"How's that exit coming?!" Tayuya said while taking off her remaining gauntlet.
"Working on it!" Kiba said as he and Chōji kept hitting the wall, starting to break through the brickwork.
"You did good." Stated Kakashi as Shikamaru freed one of his hands, proud of Tayuya's abilities.
"Say that again if we survive this shitshow!" Replied Tayuya, wanting to wait to be congratulated if they actually live.
*With Kabuto and Sasori*
Back at the Academy, Kabuto and Sasori had continued working on harnessing the crystals energy, with Sasori baring the door with his cane. Given the repeated flashing lights likely started drawing attention to what they were doing.
"Open up!"
"Stop this lunacy at once!"
"I believe that's now a sign for us to hurry before they break down the door. No pressure." Sasori stated, looking at Kabuto, recognizing the voices of the Headmasters and Danzō.
Who are likely accompanied with a large swath of Anbu, just outside the door.
"That sounds like pressure!" Said Kabuto, wondering why he felt the need to remind him they had very limited amount of time left.
Turning back to the model, watching the crystal releasing energy as well as glowing symbols. Kabuto once again felt like he was a boy again, watching the old man perform and use it.
'Remember. Focus.' Kabuto thought while closing his eyes, thinking back to that moment as he began turning the dial.
Remembering the movements of his staff, the way the seals dance around him, the patterns they made, the energy he used, everything flashed through his mind. Before Kabuto opened his eyes, watching in amazement as energy shot up above them, forming rings of seals, just as the door was broken down.
Entering the lab, Hiruzen, Danzō and the Anbu accompanying them looked in shock as they saw multiple objects floating in the air around them, including Kabuto and Sasori themselves. While on the ceiling were several rings of seals, all glowing like the night sky full of stars.
With Kabuto unable to help but chuckle in disbelief that it really worked, that after all these years it finally worked!
Tapping a gear floating in front of him, Kabuto watched as it floated away. Hitting the energy surrounding the crystal only to be teleported out to the other side in front of Sasori. With the redhead grabbing it, amazed at what they've done.
"You've…actually done it." Sarutobi muttered in sheer disbelief and amazement, that Kabuto's theory was correct, while Danzō was left silent as processed what he was seeing.
"But just because it can be done, doesn't mean… Will you please stop hovering?" Said Hiruzen, trying to remain calm and explain that just because it's possible didn't mean it should be done, only to have trouble focusing with them floating in the air.
"I'm…not entirely sure how to do that, Professor." Sasori replied sheepishly, not even sure how it happened or how they can get it to stop.
"This is not what Konoha's future looks like, my boys." Hiruzen stated, despite being amazed they were right, he was still thinking of the ramifications, the danger that could come from this power.
"I believe that's for the Council to decide." Said Amado as he and Delta entered the room, having been informed of his daughter of what they were planning.
And he couldn't deny being pleased as he looked at what they had succeeded in accomplishing.
"It seems like there's now an era of Fūinjutsu." Delta said, looking around with a smirk, knowing this'll be fun to see how it unfolds.
"Uh, NinTech. For the era of NinTech." Corrected Kabuto, still smiling at the success.
"…Can someone please get us down now?" Sasori asked, preferring to have his feet on solid ground again.
'This…this changes everything' Thought Danzō as, unknown to everyone else, a sinister smirk started working its way to his face.
His mind already picture the vast military potential that NinTech possessed. The weapons, armor and military vehicles that can be developed and powered with this technology.
The Kirigakure Empire and Kumogakure Empire have been two of Konoha's greatest threat with how they were situated in between the two Military Nations. With Konoha having been supplying arms and manpower to aid the Land of Steam in fighting off Kumogakure after they've conquered The Land of Frost, knowing if they fell then Konoha would have no buffer protecting the Land of Fire from a Kumo Invasion. While aiding the Land of Neck, the Land of Noodles and the Land of Honey against Kirigakure after they had conquered Nagi Island and O'uzu Island.
Having used Nagi Island as a launch point for their invasion with the Land of Vegetables and Land of Bean Jam having already been conquered. These Nations, along with a few smaller island Nations that weren't even a blip on Kirigakure's radar at the moment, were all that was keeping them from making landfall in the Land of Fire and make their way to Konoha.
With NinTech-empowered weaponry, they could easily be able to dive of these invaders.
But…why stop there…?
Not only could they drive Kumo and Kiri from their conquered territory, but they could take it for themselves as well as conquer any other Nations that boarder Konoha! Evolving from a mere technologically advanced city into an entire Empire, one that'll far surpass the Kumogakure Empire and Kirigakure Empire as they conquer those Nations as well! Before then moving onto other continents with the entire world under Konoha's authority! An Empire that spans the entire globe, one that'll last over a thousand years!
After all, they were they not the city of progress and technological advancement? Weren't almost every invention, every device and piece of equipment, that the other nations utilized originally created solely in Konoha? There were even rumors that the Senju Clan and, on a lesser note, the Uzumaki might've been directed descendants of the Sage of Six Paths. The creator of the Nine Ancient Generators, himself!
In Danzō's mind, this world was Konoha's by right with the introduction of NinTech just further solidifying this belief.
'Though, I can't be reckless and rush into this.' Danzō thought to himself as he observed Hiruzen, Amado and Delta watching as the Anbu were finally able to get a hold of Kabuto and Sasori via Surface Walking.
Sooner or later, one way or another, Danzō will see to it that Kabuto sees things his way.
*Cannery*
'It'll work this time; it has to work.' Naruko thought as she placed two of the gemstones in her monkey, with the third strapped to its chest right between the cymbals she put spikes on.
Looking inside, Naruko's worry grew as she saw Hibachi slamming into the door, knowing he'll break out through soon enough.
"You have to work. For me. Okay?" Naruko whispered to her monkey, begging for it to work this time.
Before she wound it up and put it inside, letting it begin making it ways towards Hibachi, clanging its cymbals together on the gemstones every few seconds.
"We're almost through!" Said Chōji, seeing he and Kiba were almost through the wall.
"Almost isn't good enough!" Tayuya said, leaning against the door while seeing one of the latches break off.
"Got it!" Said Kiba, slamming his pipe as hard as he could against the wall once one of the bricks were knocked off, with more following soon after.
'Please! Please! Please! Please! Please!' Naruko mentally begged, covering her ears in preparation for a loud explosion.
While inside the room, Shikamaru removed the last restraint with Kiba and Chōji breaking down the wall, allowing them to get away.
After a few moments of nothing happening, Naruko looked in despair that her bombs had failed again. Only for the key to turn one last time, with the cymbals clanging together on the gemstone as it glowed brightly.
With no one able to react when the monkey detonated, unleashing a massive explosion through the cannery. Naruko's eyes widening as the explosion rushed towards her before finding herself thrown backwards off her perch.
While Hibachi was thrown back as the explosion rushed towards Obito, making his eyes widen at the sight. Until Kagura pushed him out of the way, holding her arm out as it was vaporized by the explosion. As one of the gemstones flew down below, hitting the Cursed Blood, igniting it with the flames rushing down to the underground lab where the snake-like man was, being shocked when the explosion hit him.
Another gem blasted through the door into the room, impacting the ceiling where it exploded, sending debris flying everywhere. Chōji and Kiba looking in shock, having no time to react or get out of the way before pieces of rock stabbed right through their bodies and heads, along with Akamaru's. With Shikamaru being thrown back when a metal pipe impale his shoulder, sending him against the wall. Looking at Chōji's and Kiba's bodies in horror along with the pipe in his shoulder until he saw the ceiling collapsing above them, watching in fear as the rocks buried the three of them.
Outside, unaware of just how destructive her actually bomb was, Naruko looked at the explosion in amazement, seeing the bright blue light and particles all around her. Smiling in awe that she did it, she finally got one of her bombs to work.
'I did it…I saved them!' Thought Naruko, overjoyed that her bomb worked and she used it to save her family.
Once the explosion died down, Kakashi groaned as he looked around the destroyed room only to feel horror and despair at what he saw.
'Chōji…Shikamaru…Kiba…Tayuya…' Thought Kakashi upon seeing the bodies of the kids, the boys buried under rubble and Tayuya not moving beneath the door.
'Damn it…damn it!' Kakashi thought while looking down at his failure, that he couldn't keep them safe.
Outside the room, Hibachi soon got up, growling in annoyance at the explosion. While Obito stumbled out of a room, coughing and gritting his teeth. Spotting Kagura on the ground, her left arm having been completely destroyed by the explosion.
"Kill them." Obito spat, not knowing what the hell did that, but if the others weren't already dead he's going to make sure they will be soon
Snarling, Hibachi rolled his shoulder as he approached the room intent to finish them off, as two of Obito's surviving followers got up to help.
Watching them come, Kakashi's head snapped towards Tayuya when he heard her crying, feeling relieved she's still alive. Only to realize she won't be for long, if he didn't do something.
'Not…again…not…again!' Kakashi thought, forcing himself to get up while pushing the debris off, refusing to fail again like this, not when he can still move.
One of the thugs ran into the room with shout, only to suddenly be sent flying back by a blast of purple electricity shooting through his body. As Kakashi stepped out with purple lightning covering both his hands. Not even reacting as the next thug tried kicking him, merely slamming his electrified fist into his head and tossing them down into the fire. Before Hibachi threw a punch, which Kakashi blocked, twisting his wrist and grabbing Hibachi's arms while sending electricity coursing through his body. Actually making the mutated teen grit his teeth in pain, with how much stronger it was compared to Tayuya's.
Kakashi then pulled his fist back, shouting as he slammed into Hibachi's stomach, nearly piercing his body. Before he did it again and again, yet Hibachi was able to remain standing, the Cursed Blood coursing through him keeping him alive. As he then brought his elbow down on Kakashi's shoulder and grabbed his head and headbutted him.
Followed by lifting Kakashi up and slamming him down behind him, making the Hound of the Underground grunt at the impact. Though he didn't stay down, refusing to stay down when he needed to get Tayuya out of here.
'I'm not dying yet…not before you.' Thought Kakashi, glaring at Hibachi.
Only to cry out when he was suddenly stabbed in the back by Obito, taking the chance to finish him off himself. Before the Uchiha gagged when Kakashi turned and wrapped his hand around his neck, as they both remembered the last time they were in a similar position. With Obito stabbing his knife into Kakashi again.
The two former friends and brothers glared at each other, determined to end to the other, until Kakashi's grip loosened feeling his strength fading, collapsing against the Uchiha. Allowing Obito to gasp for air with his hand off his throat.
"I knew you still had it in you." Obito said, pleased to see Kakashi still had the monster inside him, before allowing him to fall over to the ground floor, crashing into crates of Cursed Blood.
Obito being unaware that Kakashi still had some life left him as his fingers twitched and his eye opened, looking up at the Uchiha and Hibachi.
"Find the girl." Obito ordered, wanting her found to see if she's still alive.
'N-no…no…' Kakashi thought while slowly moving his head and reaching for a vial of Cursed Blood.
Tayuya, meanwhile, had begun crying from the pain of the explosion and being crushed. Even more so when she saw the corpses Shikamaru, Chōji, Kiba and Akamaru buried under the rubble. Feeling devastation that they were dead, that she brought them here to save Kakashi only to get them killed.
Part of her was tempted to simply lay down and die, feeling like she deserves it after letting this happen. But she kept moving, trying to get out from under the beam since if she was dead then there'd be no one to look after her sister, and she wouldn't let Naruko go on by herself.
With the redhead struggling to crawl out from under the door, only to freeze when it was suddenly lifted off her. Looking back to see Hibachi, much to her despair.
"Well…do it…come on fucker! Do it!" Tayuya shouted, not wanting to be afraid when she died, instead only feeling pain and despair.
'I'm sorry, Naruko…' Thought Tayuya apologizing her leave her alone.
But before Hibachi could kill her, they all suddenly felt the building shaking, wondering if it was going to collapse. Before Tayuya's eyes widened in shock and fear when another, larger mutated monster appeared while towering over Hibachi. Easily lifting him up with one hand and began choking him, until they snapped his neck.
'Oh Kami.' Tayuya thought, terrified that there's another one.
Though when the monster approached, Tayuya was shocked to see…it was Kakashi looking at her. Seeing her adoptive father holding his head, roaring and snarling like an animal. Until he saw Obito looking at him in shock, seeing Kakashi still alive and transformed. The Uchiha slowly backed away, aware that if he didn't escape now then he's a dead man.
"Obito!" Kakashi shouted in a distorted voice, intent to finish him once and for all.
Only to look back to see Tayuya crawling away, trying to escape the burning building. Growling at Obito, Kakashi turned and ran, grabbing Tayuya as he did so before smashing through the wall outside. Just as the cannery exploded behind them.
Falling to the ground, Kakashi turned so he hit the ground to shield Tayuya from the impact, gasping on impact before going limp while breathing heavily. With Tayuya grunting as she got up, looking at him in fear and pain.
"Kakashi. Kakashi…Kakashi!" Tayuya said, desperately hoping he'd be okay, that he wouldn't die too.
Shaking her head as he gasped for air, but managed to look at her clearly, despite the Cursed Blood flowing through him.
"Take care of Naruko..." Muttered Kakashi with the last of his strength as his head fell back limply, the purple glow in his eyes and veins fading with the last of his life.
Looking at his body, Tayuya couldn't stop herself from throwing her head back! Screaming in pure agony that it's happened again! That she lost another family in a single night as she cried against Kakashi's chest.
After a few moments, Tayuya forced herself to stand up, remembering what Kakashi told her. To take care of Naruko. Even if everyone else is dead, even if she felt like just giving up, she still had her sister and needed to make sure Naruko is safe.
"Tayuya, it worked!" Naruko said, pulling the redhead from her despair at hearing her sisters voice, until it registered what she said.
"What?" Tayuya muttered slowly while turning to Naruko.
"Did you see me?! My monkey bomb finally worked!" Said Naruko while smiling at her sister, before it slowly faded when she saw the stated Tayuya was in.
"You did this?" Said Tayuya, feeling muted horror at the realization, that her sister was responsible for killing them.
Seeing her sister didn't look happy at her bomb working, Naruko's eyes darted around, trying to understand why she wasn't proud. Until she looked at Kakashi's mutated, unmoving body.
"Why? Why did you do this?" Tayuya muttered while looking away, unable to even look at Naruko after…after this…
That she was responsible for them losing another family!
"I…I didn't… I was saving you." Naruko muttered as a few tears fell from her eyes, trying to convince Tayuya and herself that she did a good thing.
Only to see Chōji's bloodstained hat as the realization of what her bomb had done hit her! What she…had done…
"I-I…I only wanted to help. I only wanted to help. I only wanted to help! I only wanted to help! I only wanted to help!" Naruko sobbed, desperately trying to tell her sister she didn't mean it, that she only wanted to help them.
"I told you to stay away." Tayuya muttered as she felt her horror turn into anger.
"Please! Please! Please-" Begged Naruko, not wanting Tayuya to be angry.
"I told you to stay…the fuck away!" Tayuya shouted before she did something she never thought she was capable of doing.
She brought he hand down on Naruko's face and slapped her as hard as she could, making the younger girl cry out as she was knocked to the ground! Much to her horror and pain that her sister had actually hit her.
"No! Why did you hit me? Why did you leave me?!" Naruko screamed, crying harder when Tayuya grabbed her by the face and glared at her.
"Because you're a fucking jinx! Do you hear me you retarded little shit?! KIBA WAS FUCKING RIGHT ABOUT YOU! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A MOTHER…FUCKING…JINX! That's all that you are and all that you'll ever fucking be!" Tayuya roared, not even realizing what she's doing, what she was saying, only that Naruko's the reason she's lost everything again.
"No! No! No! No! Tayuya, please!" Cried Naruko, looking at her sister pleadingly as blood dripped from her nose.
The sight was enough to snap Tayuya out of her rage, staring at her sister's blood in shock as she realized what she just did before looking at Naruko's blood on her hand. That she really raised a hand to her own sister and made her bleed.
Looking at Naruko's dirty, bloodied, tear-stained face, Tayuya was filled with anger, pain, guilt, rage, sadness and self-loathing. Wanting to apologize to hold her close and swear it was mistake, that she didn't mean what she said and was just lashing out in her grief, but she couldn't. No matter what, Naruko was still the reason Kakashi, Kiba, Akamaru, Shikamaru and Chōji were dead.
"Tayuya, please!" Naruko pleaded wailing uncontrollably, needing her sister to tell her it's alright, to assure her that she didn't mean it, that it was all just a mistake!
Feeling her own tears, Tayuya stood up before holding her arm up. Making Naruko instinctively recoil and cover her face, terrified she'll hit her again! Only for Tayuya to walk past her, much to Naruko's despair that she was her leaving again.
"Tayuya! Tayuya, come back! Please come back! Please, Tayuya! I need you! Please!" Naruko shrieked as tears and snot dripped down her face, feeling like her hearts was being ripped apart piece by piece at the sight of sister walking away.
'I can't…I can't…' Thought Tayuya, blocking out Naruko's cries as she went down a tunnel and around a corner, leaning against the wall and sliding down it, crying helplessly.
She couldn't even look at her sister after this, part of her wanted to run back to Naruko and comfort her, but she couldn't. She can't just ignore it was her bomb that caused all this. Even worse…Tayuya realized that the explosion at the apartment…it was all because of Naruko and those damn gems! Making the pain only worse, as it meant that all of this started because of Naruko making another fucking mistake!
…And Tayuya couldn't simply pretend she didn't have anything to do with it, no matter how badly she wanted to…
"Tayuya… Tayuya! Please!" Naruko screamed helplessly, wanting her sister to come back, before holding her head in despair that she was gone!
That her sister had left her.
So caught up caught up in their respective pain and grief that they didn't notice as one of the shadows shift and contort. Taking the form of a black humanoid mass with its only other notable trait being two yellow eyes that seemed to lack any visible pupils or sclerae. Before melting into the ground in the form of what looked like a black puddle before slithering into the blonde Uzumaki's shadow. Its eyes still visible for a brief moment before they soon vanished when Obito and his remaining followers appeared around the corner, finding Naruko alone. Jirōbō being one of them, carrying Kagura in his arms when they saw she was still alive.
With Obito approaching Naruko, holding his knife behind his back as he gazed down at her.
Groaning as she held her side, Tayuya looked back at where Naruko was, only for her horror to return when she saw Obito standing over her with a knife!
"Naruko!" Tayuya exclaimed as she scrambled to get up and save her, only to let out a muffled scream when someone grabbed her from behind and placed something over her mouth.
"Shh. He'll kill you if he hears you." Mizuki said while stopping her from making a sound, knowing they're both dead if Obito saw them.
"Come on. Let's go." Said Mizuki as he began dragging Tayuya back as her struggles grew weaker, the chlorophyll doing its work as soon she went limp.
'N-Naruko…I'm…s-s-so-sor…' Tayuya thought as she tried reaching towards her sister one last time before darkness took her.
"Hello, little girl. Where's your sister?" Said Obito, kneeling down in front of Naruko, making sure the knife was properly hidden behind his back.
Lifting her head, Naruko looked at Obito through her tear-filled eyes, sobbing and gasping for air before the Uzumaki screamed as she tackled Obito. Knocking the Uchiha back, along with knocking his knife out his hand, as she wrapped her arms around him. Surprising Obito and his remaining followers, none of them sure what to do in response.
"She…left me." Naruko whimpered as Obito looked at her with wide eyes before he looked up at Kakashi's mutated body.
'Farewell, brother.' Obito thought to himself, willing to saying goodbye to someone he once called his friend and brother.
"She is NOT my sister anymore!" Said Naruko, refusing to acknowledge Tayuya as her sister anymore, not after she's left her and tossed her aside.
Staring down at Naruko, Obito contemplated what to do before he lifted up his hand, his followers waiting to see what he'll do. Until he wrapped his arms around Naruko, holding her close.
"It's okay. We'll show them. We will show them all." Obito swore, promising that they'll show everyone that abandoned and looked down on them, what they're truly capable of.
Naruko looked out through Obito's arm, her red, tear-filled eye glaring off into the distance, the fire around them shining in her eye casting a purple light in it. The young girl agreeing with him, they'll show everyone what they can do.
I can hear the sound of a heartbeat before it goes out
Won't ever leave my memory of bloodshed all around
And I can see a tear on my father's face before it falls out
Oh, my enemy, how could I have ever let you down? Oh
When all these trees saw us grow
Cut our teeth and make our bones right here
"Tell me young one, what's your name?" Obito asked, having never really bothered to learn any of the names of Kakashi's young wards up until now.
"My name? My name is Nar-" Naruko muttered with a sniffle as she pulled away from Obito while wiping her eyes on the sleeve of her undershirt, only to cut herself off midway into saying her name.
We'd play with shields made of stone
Share our dreams and sit our thrones
Be still, 'cause I see smoke up ahead and I got steel in my hands
We will return like warriors, I swear, that we'll find glory up ahead
Tell me
"Every time. Every time she comes, something goes wrong. She jinxes every job."
"You know what, Kiba? You're right. There's a bunch of things Naruko just can't do."
"We've all had bad days. But we learn and we stick together."
"And one day…this city's gonna respect us. Remember Naruko, we're Uzumaki! And for Uzumaki, family comes first before all else!"
"You're not ready!"
"Because you're a fucking jinx! Do you hear me you retarded little shit?! KIBA WAS FUCKING RIGHT ABOUT YOU! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A MOTHER…FUCKING…JINX! That's all that you are and all that you'll ever fucking be!"
Where is my home?
I don't recognize the faces anymore, no
Where is my friend?
The one I've known since I was only just a kid
"My name…is Jinx." Jinx spat as she denounced her former identity as Naruko Uzumaki.
I think it's time to say goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye
Goodbye, goodbye, woah…
So, what did you think, good. Yep we see Tayuya let out of the basement when Neji, Lee and Tenten find her, all of them devastated and terrified at having seen their surrogate father's death and Kakashi being captured. With Tayuya doing what she can to comfort them, but knows she also needs to hurry and save Kakashi.
As we see Obito having brought Kakashi to his hideout, showing him everything he's working on to take the fight to Konoha, to make them scared enough to never set foot in the Undercity again. Showing him the power of Cursed Blood (since it's not really a seal, but is made based on Jūgo's own blood, so it seemed like a fitting name). With Kakashi trying to talk Obito out of getting more people killed, only for the Uchiha to be set on his goal, with others already joining up with him.
Then we go to the Academy where Kabuto and Sasori sneak into Hiruzen's office to get what they need, only to end up encountering Delta. With them trying to convince her to let them do this, to prove their theory is right, only for Delta to not need convincing. Letting go through with it just to see if it'll be entertaining for her to watch.
Back in the underground, Tayuya returns to Ichiraku, telling the others what happened before they set out to rescue Kakashi. With Naruko wanting to go and help, only for Tayuya to stop her, refusing to have her sister anywhere near this with the danger. Leaving her behind with a flare in case anyone else shows, before she and the boys head out.
Then back at the Academy, Kabuto and Sasori set up the model for their experiment and begin the test, with things going well until the crystal begins releasing more energy than anticipated. Forcing them to turn it off and continue testing it until they find the right sequences to harness the power.
While at Ichiraku, Naruko begins breaking down over being left behind, that Tayuya thinks she isn't ready for this. Until she sees the gemstones reacting to being thrown, realizing what had caused the explosion at the penthouse and now believes she knows how to help the others.
Next we see the kids arrive at the cannery, finding it empty aside from Kakashi inside, realizing too late they walked into a trap. Forcing Tayuya to fight off Obito's men as Shikamaru works to free Kakashi, while Chōji and Kiba find another way out. While Tayuya uses the Ninjutsu Kakashi taught her, including his Purple Lightning (here Kakashi still created the Chidori but went straight to Purple Lightning, since he never got the Sharingan. While Minato also had different inspiration to make the Rasengan).
None if them aware as Naruko arrives soon after, climbing up to find a spot where she can initiate her own plan to help. As Obito sends Hibachi to deal with Tayuya, after giving him more Cursed Blood, allowing him to knock Tayuya down, forcing her to retreat and lock him out of the room. Knowing they won't have much longer to escape.
We go back to the Academy as Kabuto and Sasori have soon found the right sequence, unlocking the Gelel stones power and harnessing it, to the amazement of Hiruzen when the door is broken down. But is still hesitant about utilizing such power, only for Amado to arrive knowing it'll be up to the Council to decide, being pleased at the success.
None of them aware of Danzō's own plans of how to utilize NinTech as a means to take out the Kumo and Kiri Empires, to establish Konoha as the dominant power in the world. Intending to wait for his chance to bring Kabuto over to his way of thinking to gain control of it all.
Back at the cannery, Naruko has prepared her monkey bomb loaded with the gemstones and sets it off against Hibachi. Only for it to initially not detonate, until doing so at the last moment triggering a massive explosion in the warehouse, igniting the Cursed Blood supply, vaporizing Kagura's arm when she gets Obito out of the way, engulfing Orochimaru in an explosion.
Unfortunately the explosion proves much stronger than expected, with one of the gemstones blasting into the room before exploding, sending rocks fragments flying everywhere, impaling Kiba, Chōji and Akamaru, a pipe stabbing through Shikamaru's shoulder before being crushed by the falling ceiling. Leaving Tayuya and Kakashi the only survivors, as Obito orders his remaining followers to kill them.
With the boys death forcing Kakashi to get up and fight, refusing to let Tayuya be killed too, doing what he can to fight them off until Obito stabs him in the back. The former friends and brothers trying to kill each other, until Kakashi falters and goes down. But for long when he takes Cursed Blood, giving him the strength to kill Hibachi and get Tayuya out of the cannery, at the cost of his life.
Finally we see Naruko running to Tayuya, initially happy at her bomb finally working, only to see the consequences of it. Much to Tayuya's horror that her sister was responsible for them losing another family, despite Naruko's pleas she was only trying to help. With Tayuya being blinded by grief and anger, striking Naruko and calling her a jinx, that it's all she'll ever be, much to Naruko's growing pain.
Only snapping out of her anger after seeing she made her sister bleed, but can't stand being around her as she walks away, leaving Naruko alone and crying, believing her sister abandoned her. Unaware of Mizuki grabbing and knocking Tayuya out when she tried rushing back after seeing Obito's arrival.
Leaving Naruko to latch onto Obito, having no one left and no where to go, with the Uchiha seeing himself in her, someone abandoned and betrayed by a sibling. Embracing Naruko, swearing that they'll show everyone who betrayed and looked down on them. Unaware of something moving through the shadows before hiding within Naruko's own.
As Naruko abandons her identity, tossing aside the name Naruko Uzumaki, instead embracing what everyone has seen her as, giving birth to a true Jinx. So, for those that like the story, thanks for your support. For those that don't or at least don't like the direction taken, you're more than welcomed to drop the story. But thanks for giving the story a chance anyway.
Storm out
