Hello all Storm here with a new chapter! It's been a while since I updated…anything really, it's just been a rough couple of months. I honestly have no idea when I'll be able to update more frequently, but I'm trying to whenever I can, which is better than not at all. So yeah, sorry to everyone but it'll be a while before I start getting back into the groove of things, but I'll update when I can and have the inspiration.
Anyway, here we'll be seeing some of the immediate aftermath of the warehouse explosion, along with Kabuto and Sasori's experiment. Rather than just do a timeskip, we'll be building up to it, showing some events happening over the years, as NinTech is developed, Obito gaining control of the Undercity and Naruko growing into her new life as Jinx. So, without further ado.
I own nothing
Tayuya groaned as she began regaining consciousness only to begin coughing when she felt how dry her throat was, feeling like she hadn't drank anything for weeks.
'What the fuck? Where the fuck am I? What the fuck happened?' Thought Tayuya, opening her eyes and looking through her blurry vision, unable to recognize anything she saw or where she could be before she groaned again in pain when she tried getting up.
Feeling like a building had been dropped on her, then like she was thrown through another building.
"I wouldn't try moving. You're still injured." Someone stated, causing the redhead to tense as everything slowly came into focus around her as she recognized the voice.
Quickly getting up, ignoring her body screaming in protest at the movement, Tayuya looked to where the voice came from. Immediately glaring when she saw an Anbu standing outside of a cell door. The Uzumaki glancing around to see she was indeed locked inside of a cell, one that looked to be made out of wood.
"You! You're that masked fucker from…" Tayuya shouted, recognizing his voice as the Anbu who came to Ichiraku, along with the one from Gai's shop when…
That's when the memories came flooding back to Tayuya, trying to turn herself in, Kakashi and Gai showing up, the Anbu, that monster killing them and Gai. Her, Shikamaru, Chōji, Kiba and Akamaru going to save Kakashi, the monster again, then an explosion, Kakashi being mutated and changed, then…
Tayuya stumbled back in horror as she remembered hitting Naruko, everything she said to her, then just leaving her behind and Obito…Obito standing over her while holding a knife!
"I see you remember." Mizuki stated, seeing dozens of emotions fly across Tayuya's face, not reacting when she suddenly lunged at the door again.
Her arms shooting out to grab him, only for him to be just out of her reach.
"YOU FUCKER! Where's my sister?! Where is she?!" Tayuya demanded, her horror and pain turning to anger as she also remembered how he grabbed her, knocking her out and stopping her from saving Naruko.
"She's dead." Mizuki revealed, causing the redhead to freeze up at his words, needing a few moments for them to even register in her mind before she began shaking her head.
"No…no…NO! You're fucking lying! She's not dead! Tell me where the fuck she is or I swear I'll-" Said Tayuya as purple electricity sparked around her hand, intent to force Mizuki to tell her where Naruko is.
Only to fall to the ground scream when she felt like her body was on fire, gritting her teeth to try and suppress her screams as she looked down at herself. Seeing glowing red markings beneath her glows, looking under her shirt to see them covering her body.
"I wouldn't try that again. The Heavenly Prison Jutsu makes it so everyone here in Blood Prison has no hope of escape or using Chakra, not unless they want their entire life to go up in flames. Even if by some miracle you do get out of the prison, get too far from the warden and you're dead." Said Mizuki, knowing she won't be able to escape or leave as long as she has that brand.
His words made Tayuya freeze again at learning she's in Hōzuki Castle, unable to help but find a twisted irony that she's ended up here regardless. Before she forced herself to her feet once the burning sensation faded, glaring murderously at the Anbu.
"Where is my sister?! Tell me!" Demanded Tayuya, refusing to believe Naruko was really dead.
"I told you she's dead!" Mizuki retorted, slamming his fist against the cell, annoyed that she kept asking when she already knows what happened.
"You're lying! She's not dead! Now tell me what you and that bastard did to her!" Tayuya yelled while breathing heavily.
"Why don't you grow up and accept the truth?! You saw what he was capable of, the power he has, those that follow him! He killed the girl and would've killed you, if I hadn't been willing to save your sorry ass!" Said Mizuki, believing she should be grateful that he was willing to save her from being killed as well.
"Yeah, I saw! I saw and heard you made a fucking deal with him! This is your fault! You and the rest of those fucking Anbu, you're all the same as Obito!" Shouted Tayuya, grunting when Mizuki punched her through the wooden slats, knocking her to the ground.
"No! This only happened because of you and the rest of those brats! You're the ones who destroyed the building, you all brought the Anbu into the disgusting, crime-filled pit you call a home! If you and the rest of your kind had just stayed buried, none of this would've happened! They're all dead because of you, including your sister! I only did what I had to, to get justice for your crimes! You and Obito are the same, doing what you want and damning anyone in your way!" Said Mizuki, glaring at her from behind his mask, refusing to accept that he was also responsible for what happened, not when he didn't plan on getting his allies killed.
Everything he did was to protect Konoha from criminals like them, but they forced his hand. Resulting in him accepting Obito's deal because they just refused to take responsibility for their crimes. None of it would've happened if they just learned their place and be grateful to still live.
Tayuya began shaking from her spot on the ground, feeling anger, hate, sadness, pain, self-loathing and so much more flooding her system. That he was right, it was all her fault.
Her fault for planning the heist that started all this.
Her fault for not keeping a closer eye on Naruko and stopping her from finding those damn crystals.
Her fault for trying to turn herself in, getting Gai killed and Kakashi captured.
Her fault for leaving Naruko behind instead of letting her come.
Her fault for getting her family killed.
Her fault for hitting Naruko and calling her a jinx.
Her fault Naruko died alone, believing she hated her.
Her fault.
Her fault.
Her fault.
Her fault!
HER FAULT!
"…kill…you…" Tayuya muttered.
"What did you say?" Mizuki demanded only for Tayuya to look up at him, glaring at him with tear-filled eyes that had nothing but pure hatred in them.
"I'm going to get out of here, and I'm gonna kill you." Stated Tayuya without any doubt, she didn't care how long it took, how she'll do it or when, but she won't rest until she killed him.
Rather than be intimidated or scared, Mizuki scoffed and turned to leave. Wanting to catch the next Thunder Rail back to Konoha.
"You're not going anywhere. This is where you belong, you and the rest of your kind. Be grateful you get live out the rest of your miserable life here." Mizuki said, not believing she'll ever get out of Blood Prison, especially since as far anyone is concerned she died with the rest of her family.
"Run you cowardly piece of shit! Run back to that shithole Konoha! Because I will get out and I'm gonna fucking tear you apart when I do! And tell that Uchiha bastard the next time you see him, once I'm done with you, he's next! Him and every fucking traitorous bastard that joins him! Tell them they'll wish I fucking I died!" Tayuya screamed as loud as she could, panting heavily as she stumbled back.
Feeling her anger fading as she slid down against the wall, her pants turning into choke sobs once she was sure Mizuki was gone. Pulling her legs up to her chest, Tayuya buried her face in knees as she cried at the fact that everyone she's ever loved is dead and she only has herself left to blame.
*Later*
*Undercity*
Kagura grunted as she began waking up from the feeling of someone repeatedly poking her, trying to push them back. Only to feel some confusion when it felt like her arm wouldn't move before flinching when someone poked her shoulder, sending a jolt through her body.
"Oh good! You're still alive…not so much in one piece though."
'Who the hell is…that voice…' Thought Kagura, feeling like she vaguely recognized the voice.
Managing to finally open her eyes, Kagura recoiled when she saw Jinx crouching down next to her along with being the one poking her as the young girl kept poking her cheek. Much to the white-haired woman's annoyance as she against tried pushing her away, but once again her arm wouldn't respond.
"What's with that look on your face? You look upset? Oooooh, is it the arm? Would it help if I said sorry?" Jinx asked, confusing Kagura now.
"What the hell are you talki-? Demanded Kagura, wondering what she meant as she looked down at her arm only to gasp in horror.
Seeing her entire left arm was completely gone, with her shoulder being wrapped in bandages but she could still see the scars stretching up her neck, even feeling them on her face.
"Yeah…if it helps I technically didn't plan on your arm being blown up…I mean it was supposed to just kill the big mutant guy, but you know…happy accidents and all that." Said Jinx while shrugging, yelping when Kagura suddenly shot up grabbing her collar.
"What did you do?!" Kagura said, glaring murderously at the brat.
"Well I made a bomb, it blew up, then there was a fire, you lost an arm, now here we are… Oh I also killed my family." Jinx summarized, making Kagura pause for a moment.
"What the hell do yo-" Said Kagura, feeling confusion joining her anger.
"Shut up!" Jinx screamed, suddenly glaring at a corner of the room, with Kagura's head snapping towards it but didn't see anything.
"You all left me! I was just trying to help! How was I supposed to know it'd be that strong?! It didn't destroy the entire building before!" Shouted Jinx, as if she was talking to someone else.
'What the fuck?' Kagura thought, glancing around the room only to not seeing anyone else with them, starting to realize the girl was crazy.
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP!" Jinx yelled, covering her ears and squeezing her eyes shut, trying to block out the voices.
"Hey!" Kagura shouted, throwing Jinx back off the bed, getting tired of her rambling and just wanted some answers of what happened after the explosion.
Grunting when she hit the floor, Jinx sat up while glaring at Kagura as the white-haired woman tried getting up.
"I don't care about whatever fucked up issues you've got going on, right now. But if you don't start making sense, you'll have a lot more to wor-" Said Kagura, intent to get answers one way or another.
"Kagura, so nice to see you awake." Obito stated, entering the room, making Kagura pause at seeing he's still alive.
"Hey Mr. Obito!" Jinx said while smiling and waving at the Uchiha, running up to him as he nodded at her.
"Obito, you're still alive. What the hell is she doing here?" Kagura asked, wondering why one of Kakashi's brats was with them.
"Yes, you have my thanks. If not for your interference, I likely would've lost more than just an arm. I'll be sure to have a replacement made for you as soon as possible." Said Obito, knowing if not for Kagura pushing him out of the way, he very likely would be dead right now, and he intended to repay that loyalty.
"As for Jinx, you have nothing to worry about. She's with us, now." Obito added while looking down at Jinx.
"Jinx? Her?" Questioned Kagura in disbelief and confusion at the name.
"Yeah, Jinx. Everyone always calls me that, so obviously it's my name." Jinx said, like it was obvious.
Looking between them for a few moments, Kagura soon shook her head, not caring how or why it happened. Her new boss is still alive, so now all she wanted to know what their next move is going to be.
"Okay. So, who's still with us?" Kagura asked, doubting everyone made it out of that explosion and fire.
"Unfortunately, not everyone made it out. But we still have Jirōbō, Kidōmaru, Zaku, Dosu, Yamame and Orochimaru." Obito replied, knowing it wasn't much, but he's started with less before.
He was especially pleased Orochimaru's still alive, having managed to break the glass in the lab and get into the water before he burned to death, though not without being heavily scarred. As long as he's alive then they'll be able to make more Cursed Blood and set up the factories for mass production.
"The doctor's still alive? That's good." Stated Kagura, doubting they'll be able to make it far without the Cursed Blood to bring others to their side.
"Quite. However Cursed Blood is only one part of the plan. Next, I'll be meeting with the Kage." Said Obito, knowing if he had any hope of taking control of the Lanes then he needed the Kage on his side.
The Kage were the other leaders of the Undercity, crime lords that each had their own district and gangs they control. Landlords, factory owners, mob bosses, business tycoons, they all had their hands in some form of business or another with their deep-pockets and hired muscle. Soon being referred to as Kage as they ruled the Undercity from the shadows, only getting involved if someone crosses them.
Normally they kept to themselves, an unspoken agreement that they stay out of each other's territory, not unless they wanted to start a gang war. Something that was avoided when Kakashi was alive and before him, Minato and Kushina were the ones who maintained balance between the Kage. All of them having kept the Kage in line and ensured that things remained peaceful between them, relatively speaking.
Now with Kakashi dead and no leader, Obito knew he needed to summon the Kage for meeting and get them all in line if he had any hope of getting control and setting up Cursed Blood factories. Not to mention giving him the support needed to ensure anyone still loyal to Kakashi will learn to accept the new order.
"You think they'll listen without anything to show?" Questioned Kagura, knowing the Kage would want to see actual proof that joining Obito will be a good business deal.
"Orochimaru's already working on a new batch of perfected Cursed Blood, once it's finished the Kage will be smart enough to join the winning side. They'll get more money and power than they'll know what to do with, and I'll have them all bound to me." Obito stated, since once he gets the Kage on his side, it won't be long before all their interests will be tied to him.
"And everyone else?" Kagura asked, aware that even with Kakashi dead, he still inspired plenty of loyalty in people, loyalty that won't be forgotten when it's revealed what happened to him and his kids, if it hasn't already.
"They'll be free to go about their lives, enjoying the improvements and new life I'll be bringing to the Lanes. So long as they don't do anything stupid." Replied Obito, wanting to improve the Undercity for everyone to enjoy and make it more than a place for those in Konoha to dump their trash.
"What about her?" Said Kagura while turning to Jinx, who looked rather bored with what they were discussing, only paying attention when Kagura looked at her.
"I'm gonna show everyone what can I do." Jinx stated, smiling and giggling to herself with Kagura giving her a wary look.
"Jinx has proven herself rather resourceful, with time she will prove to be a valuable ally." Said Obito, patting Jinx on the head, with the young blonde preening happily at his words.
"I'm sure." Muttered Kagura, not sure what exactly happened to lead the last of Kakashi's brats to join them or why she's calling herself Jinx, but Kagura made a mental note to keep an eye on her.
There's just something unhinged in her eyes that left the woman more than a little unnerved.
"In the meantime, rest and recover your strength. I'll be meeting with the Kage in the morning to discuss details of our alliance. Come along, Jinx." Obito said, taking his leave with Jinx grabbing his hand as she followed him, Kagura nodded as she laid down to process everything.
"So…what're we gonna do now?" Jinx asked while looking up at Obito, wondering what they'll do until his meeting.
"We are going home." Obito replied, planning to take over Ichiraku with Kakashi gone.
It'll serve as headquarters for his operations as he works to change and rebuild the Undercity. For now, though, he'll be using it to iron out the finer details of his plans in preparation for his meeting with the Kage.
'And there's also the other business I'm working on.' Obito thought smirking, having already put into motion another plan, one that'll ensure the Anbu stay out of his business.
*Academy*
After getting Kabuto and Sasori down, as well as turning off their prototype and having both boys clean up the mess made from the floating objects. Hiruzen had dismissed the Anbu along with Danzō, Amado and Delta taking their leave before taking Kabuto and Sasori into his office, wanting to speak to them both alone.
"What you two did wasn't only foolish, reckless and ignorant. Not to mention, dangerous to not just yourselves but everyone still within the Academy!" Hiruzen said while giving them both a stern, angry look that they not only broke into his lab, performed an unauthorized experiment that could've easily ended in another building blowing up, but did so after the Council had already made their decision.
"It was my idea, Professor, all of it. I stole one of my journals back and convinced Sasori to help me break in to your lab." Kabuto said stepping forward, willing to take the blame for it all if things don't go the way they hoped it would.
"He's lying, sir. I'm the one who took the journal before you locked everything away, I also took the keys to your lab so we could get inside to do the experiment. Everything that happened tonight was because of me." Said Sasori, not planning to let Kabuto take the fall, not when he's the reason they were here tonight.
Kabuto opened his mouth to speak again only for Hiruzen to raise his hand, silencing them both.
"While it's noble you both are trying to defend each other, you didn't let me finish. What you did wasn't only foolish and dangerous, but…it's also something even I would've done at your age." Sarutobi admitted while sitting behind his desk, surprising the two at his words.
"You were right before, in the holding cell and at your trial, Kabuto. Konoha is meant to represent progress, but perhaps in recent years many of us have forgotten that progress cannot be achieved without a few risks and delving into the unknown. Though it seems you two have not forgotten this, risking your reputation, freedom and even your lives to seek answers the rest of us refused to even consider finding. And because of that, you've now achieved something no one else thought was possible. That many would dismiss as a fool's errand yet now it seems to be a reality. I was wrong." Explained Hiruzen, willing to admit he was wrong to dismiss Kabuto's research out of fear it would only bring destruction.
Though silently, Hiruzen did still have some concerns of what this unknown venture could bring about, he was now at least willing to give it a chance. Provided, of course, that it was thoroughly monitored and all further experiments had proper supervision to avoid any potential dangers.
"Now then, you both likely know there will be a Council meeting tomorrow to discuss this and even with this success, some of the Councilors might need more convincing to accept this…NinTech you called it. You claim to believe that you have a way to create unlimited energy from this new energy. How?" Hiruzen asked since that's the one thing that will bring anyone on board, if there's a chance for them to regain the infinite energy lost with the Nine Ancient Generators, to no longer worry of it running out.
"Uh, Gelel Chakra, G-Chakra for short, is what it's called, Professor." Said Kabuto, wanting a way to differentiate it from normal Chakra.
"Alright, then how will this…G-Chakra be used to make infinite energy? You did think of this, correct?" Said Sarutobi, hoping that Kabuto had something more to offer them than one successful experiment.
Sasori glanced at his new partner as well, having not found anything in his journal about it, if he did have a plan on how to create infinite energy with G-Chakra.
"I do, sir. I've already thought of something that we can build and once powered by G-Chakra, I swear Konoha won't have to ever worry about the Chakra from the Ancient Generators running out ever again." Kabuto replied, feeling a new confidence at the success of their experiment, now truly believing what he has planned will succeed.
"What is it?" Hiruzen asked, wanting to hear for himself what exactly he thought of to create infinite energy.
"It's-" Kabuto began, only to stop when an Anbu ran into the office interrupting them.
"Council Sarutobi, there's an urgent matter that needs your attention." Said the Anbu, making Hiruzen frown at the interruption and what could've happened.
"It can't wait a few moments?" Questioned Hiruzen, doubting whatever happened was as serious as what's going on right now.
"I'm afraid not, sir." The Anbu said, glancing at Kabuto and Sasori behind his mask before approaching the Headmaster.
His frown deepening, Sarutobi leaned in close as the Anbu whispered in his ear only for his eyes to widen in shock at what he heard.
"What?! You're sure?!" Sarutobi demanded urgently, knowing if it's true then this was much worse than he imagined.
"I'm afraid so, Councilor. A team has already been sent into the Undercity to retrieve them, they've sent confirmation of what's happened." Replied the Anbu, with Hiruzen already moving towards the door.
"Alert the rest of the Council, I don't care who's sleeping, tell them it's a matter of grave urgency, immediately! Kabuto, Sasori I expect both of you at the Council meeting tomorrow to discuss what you both have planned." Said Hiruzen, departing his office with the Anbu following after him, leaving Kabuto and Sasori to share a look.
"That was…unexpected." Stated Sasori, wondering what else could've happened tonight that'd warrant an emergency Council session.
"Yeah. I wonder what else is going on." Kabuto said.
"My best guess, it has something to do with what's happening in the Lanes, involving the destroyed building." Sasori said since that seemed like the most obvious answer.
"Maybe." Muttered Kabuto, wondering if that meant they found the culprits or something else happened.
"Though, focusing on our current problems. What exactly do you have planned to create infinite energy?" Sasori asked while turning to Kabuto, preferring to know what he has planned, if they're going to be partners in developing NinTech.
"You didn't get that far in my notes?" Kabuto asked, raising a brow, having planned out and drawn designs for the device that'll produce the infinite energy.
"No, I skimmed them mostly and focused on the basics of combining Gelel energy with Chakra via Fūinjutsu." Sasori replied, having not had time to read the entire journal.
"Right. Okay first, you know how the Kumo and Kiri Empires have started using people as living Chakra batteries?" Questioned Kabuto, making Sasori frown at where this was going.
"I'm aware." Said Sasori.
"Well that's where I got the idea. As barbaric as it is, it did give me an idea. Humans are already sources of infinite Chakra as long as we're alive and we don't use it all up. But as long as a human lives, their body will continuously produce Chakra from their organs, like the heart which also helps circulate Chakra throughout a person's body. Now imagine that Konoha is the body…" Kabuto trailed off as Sasori began thinking before his eyes widened.
"And the Nine Generators were the hearts." Sasori stated, realizing what he was planning.
"Exactly! The cities and empires are the bodies, and the Nine Generators were the hearts that powered them while letting Chakra flow freely. But now they're gone, but the bodies are still alive, for the moment, so they need new hearts. That is how we'll create infinite energy, by building a new heart underground within Konoha. And once it's powered by G-Chakra, it'll begin spreading Chakra throughout the entire city, never running out, never ending, it will always keep flowing no matter what." Said Kabuto while smiling, much to Sasori's amazement before he smiled.
"Then I believe we still have some work to do tonight, partner." Said Sasori, holding his hand out, with Kabuto shaking it.
"Yeah, we do. Let's get to work." Kabuto replied as they left the office to continue their work, ironing out the details and planning that'll be needed for the creation of the G-Heart.
So, what did you think, good. Yep we first see Tayuya waking up, having been locked away in Hōzuki Castle by Mizuki, and branded with the Heavenly Prison Jutsu keeping her from using her Ninjutsu. While also learning that Naruko is dead, despite her refusal to believe it, only to be forced to accept and that it's her own fault. No longer having anyone to blame but herself for everything that's happened, leaving Tayuya only able to swear she will get out one day and kill Mizuki, Obito and everyone allied with him as revenge.
Then we see Kagura waking up to Jinx hovering over her, learning what's happened including losing her arm, as well as showing some of Jinx's already fractured mental state. Before Obito arrives, revealing the damage done to their operation and what his next move is. Showing more of how the Undercity operates, with Kage acting as gang leaders, with whom they are being revealed next chapter. Along with hinting at more his plan to keep the Anbu out of his way.
Finally we see Hiruzen scolding Kabuto and Sasori for their reckless actions, but also admitting he was wrong to doubt Kabuto's research and the benefits it could bring to Konoha. While still maintaining some skepticism of the dangers still involved, though willing to support it provided Kabuto does have a means to create infinite energy with G-Chakra.
Before they're interrupted when an Anbu arrives, informing Hiruzen of what they learned happened in the Lanes and those that died, leading to an emergency Council meeting being called. While we then learn of Kabuto's plans to create infinite energy, building and artificial heart under Konoha to produce limitless energy, much to Sasori's amazement as they then get to work on ironing out the details. So, for those that like the story, thanks for your support. For those that don't or at least don't like the direction taken, you're more than welcomed to drop the story. But thanks for giving the story a chance anyway.
Storm out
