"So what's planned for the rest of our school day?" asked Summer, strolling with her family, a smile on her lips; after everything she'd been put through, all the heartbreak and pain, it was finally over. "You know, other than helping out where needed," she added with a small bout of laughter when Aleister ran past with Cross hot on his heels. The latter was laughing like a maniac and practically bouncing off the walls.

At the same time, Drew was carrying Nikki as if she were his bride, the heel of her shoe having snapped off just minutes prior. Summer's smile only grew upon looking around, seeing how everything seemed to have gone back to how it once was. Dean, Seth, and Echo soon reappeared, laughing about something. Dean, with his arm, slung over Echo's shoulders, Seth holding her hand as if all the drama and heartbreak between them had been erased. The lunatic soon untangled himself from the duo, all but tackling Renee in a hug upon reaching her.

"We've got the exams to prepare for," called Brie, her own laughter escaping her glossy lips upon hearing the collective ugh in response to the reminder. "And the finals of the tournaments, but if that's not fun enough, then prom comes up," she added, thinking about the big event for the first time since she left her old group of friends behind and broke up with Daniel. They'd always talked about going together, but now the event was fast approaching, she'd barely thought about it or who she was going with, let alone what she was going to wear.

"It's decided. Us ladies are going dress shopping," called Maryse. Now, she had rejoined the group with Carmella in tow. Surprisingly to most, both girls had managed to coax Serenity from their hiding place, offering her to join them until she found where she truly belonged, as they would do for any student looking for their place. "Where are the Darklings?" she asked, noticing the group of dark ones missing again, although some peace was brought to her upon seeing Aleister, Nikki, and Echo still among the group.

"Finn and Damian are trying to convince Rhea not to throttle Dom," called JD upon rejoining the group too. "I'd admit I tried to convince them to let her go," he admitted, even more so upon realizing what was going on between Liv and Dom, Rhea to having twigged, hence her very sudden bout of fury. "Solve one lot of relationship drama and end up with the Darkling version," he added, tapping his phone several times to alert the present darklings of the group chat messages.

"Oof, that bad," spoke Aleister, coming to a stop a few meters ahead of everyone else. "Let her go. He'll soon learn not to do it again," added the teenager known as the Devil, a wicked smile gracing his lips as he offered Serenity a small wave.

"You darklings have an odd way of fixing things," began Corey, "Although I'd admit it would solve the problem," he added after spending a few seconds dwelling on it.

"Have you met our dear Mami? It's better to let her loose to deal with the problem than let her stew on it," asked Cross, her maniac laughter following along shortly after. This brought a smile to JD, who'd previously had concern etched on his features. "Besides, Dom Dom did something unforgivable to Rhea; in her mind, there's no fixing that," she added with a small smile, knowing although the Darkling way was unusual to those on the outside, it did work and often strengthened the existing bonds.

"Huh, maybe we should have let Summer loose on Roman," commented Punk, hearing Summer click her tongue at the thought, "Would have solved the problem sooner and would have helped Serenity here too," he added as if imagining a domino effect happening. Either way, Roman's downfall would have happened, his own stupidity having caused it and his belief he was better than everyone else.

"Anyways, back to the previous subject," Drew said upon the group's arrival at the bleachers on the sports fields. There, he placed Nikki down on the many benches, a soft smile on his lips. "Cinderella, will you go to the ball with me?" Nikki could only blush. Although she'd thought about prom, she hadn't imagined being asked to go with someone; instead, she'd happily settle for going with her girls.

"Since you asked so sweetly, Prince Charming, of course, I'll go with you," replied Nikki, a huge grin coming to her lips. Brie at her side commenting finally, as if she'd expected her twin to be asked to the prom eventually. After all, over the last year, Nikki had regained all her lost popularity, only this time with the people it actually mattered with.

"Wait, does this mean I have to dress up all fancy?" asked Dean in a joking manner. He could recall Renee convincing him to go, saying it would be fun and an event he'd one day regret not attending. Her advice was simple enough to think of it as if it was one last party with friends before life took away freedoms and time.

"Yup," replied Renee. "If I have to wear a formal dress, you're wearing a tux to match," she laughed.

"What if I don't,"

"I'll become your permanent stalker," replied Echo. Hearing Seth chuckle from her side, some of the others did, too. "And I'll take great pleasure in doing it," she added with an innocent smile.

"Guess us lads are going Tux hunting at some point," replied Drew, as if suddenly realizing the threat of being stalked would extend to the rest of them as well.

"So, who are the rest of you going with?" asked Brie, curiosity taking hold. She wondered if she would be going alone or if the other single ladies within the group would be with her. After all, the girls in the miss-matched group were confident enough to go to the prom without a date.

"Come on, Brie Mode. You know Punky Bear and I are going together," announced AJ. Everyone in the school knew they were attending together. After all, Punk had embarrassed himself at the Winter Wonderland festivities to ask her to prom, complete with terrible off-key singing and a little dance.

"And you know it's a given Maryse and I are going together," added Miz with a small grin. The pair had talked about the event for some time, even before the Mix and Match family existed. Their plans hadn't changed all that much, only to include those who surrounded them now.

"You've got me and Mr Savior of Misbehavior here," called Carmella, "Ney Ney and the Lunatic, too," she added, recalling how much had changed since the pair had first discussed going to the prom. The group was stronger, but some of the couples were no longer together, although now it appeared at least one of the broken three was on the mend once again.

"We know someone who wants to go with Brie," laughed Cross, pointing to each of the present Darklings; her laughter only grew upon Brie's expression, turning from almost sorrow to that of general surprise and even curiosity. There was someone who wanted to go with her? Who, not Daniel, she hoped. She didn't want to risk the possibility of falling into her old ways again and destroying the life she'd built, the relationships she had with her twin sister and little brother.

"And if it wasn't immediately obvious, We're going together. However, it's anyone's guess who's dragging who there," chuckled Aleister, answering the question if the pair were going together. After all, despite being long-time partners, many missed it, mainly because they didn't go overboard with public affection or scream it from the rooftops.

"Who cares if we have dates? It's about having one last hoorah together with the people we love and care for," announced Summer, displaying her confidence in the prospect of attending prom without a date but with her group of girls. "I'd be happy going with you girls, having fun and making memories, like we always do, just fancier," she added with a small chuckle.

"What about you, Serenity? Who do you want to go to prom with?" asked Brie, working to include the pregnant teen in the group conversation. After all, she had nowhere else to go, and they weren't about to leave her on the cold sidelines, even if she did deserve it. Serenity, on the other hand, seemed taken aback by the inclusion and the spotlight being shone on her. No longer was she confident in herself, nor did she want to be anywhere near the center of attention. She didn't even know if she did want to go to prom anymore. Or at least that was how she acted.

"I don't know," honestly replied the judgmental teen. "Me and Roman planned to go together, but after everything I've learned over the last few hours, I'd rather punch him than be his prom date," she added, being surprised when Summer, of all people, raised her water bottle and said here here, offering both support and agreement in the idea of punching the Samoan teen.

"What are you up to?" asked Echo, noticing the familiar mischievous grin appear across Seth's lips, the grin that was accompanied by a bout of chuckles shortly after her question. "Seth?" asked Echo, although she wasn't loud enough to gain the attention of those around her. Most seemed more interested in welcoming Serenity into the ranks and convincing her to join them at the prom, even if she didn't have a date. "Alright, now I know you're doing it on purpose," she added playfully, punching his shoulder as he continued to chuckle mischievously, confirming to her that he was indeed up to something.

"Hey, Bex, wanna go to prom with me?" called JD, looking terrified by the possibility of being rejected. Even if he only intended the date to be as friends. "Irish connection?" he added, feeling relief when she nodded, a small genuine smile coming to her lips as if she'd been preparing to attend alone.

"So you didn't murder him?" asked Aleister upon the trio of Rhea, Finn, and Damian rejoining the group. Damian instantly sent a serious look in Aleister's direction. "What? We're all wondering, plus you have two other ladies on a revenge tour that are taking notes," he commented as if acting innocent, something that was anything but becoming of him.

"No, I didn't dismember him despite the urge to. These two reminded me it was more fun to torment him from a distance," replied Rhea; instead, she had swiftly ended the relationship, surprising even Liv with the action. Even more so when it was clear Liv had been expecting a fight instead, Rhea had simply broken things off, viciously slapped Dom, and walked away before he had the chance to try and explain anything. "Anyways, what's going on here?" asked the Aussie, needing to change the subject before she returned to her thoughts and went on a warpath to eradicate both Dom and Liv.

"Prom," called Cross from the top of the bleachers. "And the Aerialist is up to something," she added, thrusting the teenager in question into the spotlight. Here, he continued to grin like a madman and laugh as if waiting for his ultimate plan of mischief to come to fruition. "Drew asked his princess to go with him, and JD jumped into the unknown and asked our Irish Ass Kicker."

"And Brie is trying to work out who the secret potential prom date is," added Nikki, laughing once more, almost as if she was already aware but not said anything until her suspicious were confirmed.

"Right, prom, forgot about that," commented Rhea, thankful she and Dom hadn't made any plans for the event. Come to think of it, she'd not given it any real thought before. In her mind, it had always been a long way off, so she put the subject at the back of her mind. Now, however, it was anything but a long way away, but just around the corner. "I don't have a dress, let alone a date,"

"Us ladies are going dress shopping," spoke AJ, at least reassuring Rhea. None of them had particularly given it any thought nor even realized how quickly the big event had crept upon them. So many other things got in the way, from friend and relationship drama to the many tournaments going on. In the case of the wrestling team, traveling across the country to compete. "Boys will be going tux hunting too, under threat of being permanently stalked by our delightful Demon."

"There goes the choice on that one," commented Damian, as if he planned to dig out an old suit he'd worn to many formal events in the past.

"Hell, I'll help with that. I could do with the distraction," replied Rhea, her smile returning at the thought of stalking some of the lads, even if in a playful way. "Plus, not much of a choice for a prom date, considering these two morons have other plans," she added, her smile growing upon seeing the horror appear in both Finn and Damian's eyes.

"Jey Uso," called Echo, was her spot on the bleachers, an innocent-ish grin appearing across her lips mere moments later. "What we all know he's got a thing for yah, Mami, plus a change would do all of us good," she added, once again displaying her observation skills and ignoring Seth's chuckling, even when she really wanted to know what he was up to.

"Heads up, the Devil's on the way," called Carmella, almost instantly bursting into laughter when the collection of Darklings turned to face Aleister. The Dutch teen simply looked to his feet and then back to Carmella with confusion.

"Since when did we, Darklings, develop Astro projection?" replied Aleister, an ire of confusion ringing through his voice.

"Roman dummy," called Rhea

"Since when did I become an asshat?"

"Besides always?"

"You're hurting my feelings with your rudeness, Mami"

"Serenity," called Roman, sorrow flooding his voice and a sprinkle of fear shining in his eyes. After all he was actively ignoring Finn's warning to stay away. Upon looking around, he could see he wasn't welcome within the group now; most were angry he was there, none more so than Seth and Dean. Seth's mischievous smile had faded now, being replaced with a serious expression, whereas Dean had entered his protection mode, determined to protect what remained of the little family.

"Go away, Roman," replied Serenity as she moved to go further up the bleachers. Quickly noticing the eery silence to have fallen over the group. No laughter, fun, or playful banter, only cold, hard silence. Almost instantly, the judgmental brunette had become grateful for the little bit of warmth the collective group had shown her, especially when they could have easily turned her away with the same haunting coldness as they showed Roman now. "I've said all I have to. Plus, you're only here now because everyone else either saw through your act or rejected you. I have no interest in hearing your silky words or in fooling for your trap again," she added; however, this time, Brie noticed something was off, almost as if it was an elaborate act for one of the duo to gain sympathy.

"Anyway, so prom shopping, over the weekend or sooner?" asked Brie as if to take away the intended attention without making it obvious.

"Are you ladies free after school today?" asked Maryse, as if picking up on Brie's distraction attempt. Her question was soon met with a round of hums or simple yup, yeps, and yeahs. "Drop our things back home, then carpool to the malls," suggested the French Canadian, a soft smile coming to her lips. Her eyes lit up to see how far each had come and how they all formed a little family of their own.

"Guess us boys will be going on the hunt at some point too," added Miz, ensuring the boys kept up with the girls' standard, or at least tried to. "Us guys should do something the day of prom as well, maybe a little get-together, before meeting oursenoritas for the big event," he added, already suspecting the girls would do something together the day of, even if it was as simple as a spa trip.

"One big happy family again," spoke Nikki just as the five-minute warning bell rang out, at which point she allowed Drew to once again carry her bridal style. By now, Seth's mischievous ways had returned, and Dean had settled. "So, Mr. Ariealist, what are you up to?" asked Nikki, repeating Echo's previous question, only to receive the same chuckling in response. "Now I know it's gonna be good," she added before patting him on the shoulder as Drew began to run, seemingly chasing after Corey and Carmella as if in a silent race with the pair.

"Where you going?" asked Finn when Rhea swerved off toward the locker room outside doors.

"To get me a prom date," replied Rhea with a cheeky grin. "Go ask your Summer Special before Cross kicks your ass for taking so long," she advised while also being encouraging. "We both deserve a happy ending, Finn, even if we don't believe in fairytales."

"Wishing Jey luck," called Finn as if purposely winding Rhea up, at least before he quickly scooted away, a grin painted on his lips. When he finally rejoined the others, Becky and JD were waiting for him, whereas the couple race had seemingly grown to include AJ and Punk, along with Miz and Maryse.
