White couldn't control the Warp Stream. She tumbled as it transported her far from Earth, passed Homeworld, and didn't stop. Her intention or intended destination meant nothing. Warp Pad's didn't do this, 'Unless…' she thought and realized with growing horror the Warp had been corrupted. Something, or someone had taken control of it. But the Warps had worked fine for other Gems. Only when she used it did this trap activate, as if whoever controlled it had been monitoring for her to activate one. Magnetar had somehow done this. The Warp was taking her right to him.

"You haven't bested me yet!" she hissed. With a blast of her power she pushed herself out of the stream. The pillar of light that had once been transporting her faded into the void as she tumbled away in the zero gravity. The void which the Warps crossed was dark, illuminated by the occasional activating pillar of Warp Energy taking a Gem across the Galaxy. The light vanished just as quickly. White just had to jump into another activating stream.

She used another blast of energy to propel herself towards a new stream pillar. Plasma lightning that was common in the void flashed and hindered her attempts. The stream she was aiming for deactivated just before she could reach it. With a frustrated huff White tried again. She grabbed for the light as it blinked away.

White gritted her teeth. The new streams were to far away. "Now what?" she asked herself, her voice echoing in the void dimension. She had gotten away from Magnetar but had trapped herself. The thought only made her more frustrated. No matter how strong this Magnetar was, how dare he reduce her to this! White crossed her arms indignantly and tried not to notice how her stomach dropped every time she thought of his name.

"I'll have to face him eventually," she said. He was a threat to Gem Kind, and she would be the only one strong enough to stand a chance. Even if she couldn't remember him, she had to try. First, she had to get back to Homeworld. But in her current predicament…

Another stream opened before her, and White dove in before thinking. "Sorry to interrupt wherever you're going, but I have to get to Homeworld!" she informed her unwitting rescuer. Then she scanned the warp stream when she failed to see the Gem. She blinked, confounded. Warps didn't activate themselves, the last she checked.

Something tapped her foot.

White looked down and saw the small white and gray Gem. Except, it wasn't a Gem. She recognized the organic from Earth. One of Steven's friends, though she couldn't remember if she had ever spoken to them or heard them speak to anyone else.

"Onion, am right?" She ventured.

The small Organic gave her a single nod in reply.

White looked around them and saw no one else. "Um, how did you activate the Warp without a Gem?" she wondered. Before she could answer, the Stream shifted again. She gasped when she realized it switched directions. Magnetar had sensed her again and was pulling them to him.

The organic Onion grabbed a bit of her skirt fabric in his fist and tugged at her. He took a deep exaggerated breath and jumped out of the stream. She followed, and back in the void she found Onion, still clutched to the appearance modifier fabric of her skirt. "Oh!" White realized. "This dimension is not suitable for organics! It's doesn't have much air and is too cold…"

Still holding his breathe, Onion fished in his shirt and pulled something free from a chain round his neck. It was crystal in nature and the old Gem tech was familiar to her. How had the organic gotten a Warp Whistle?

He blew the air he had stored in his cheeks into the whistle, and a new Warp Stream encompassed them. Before whatever technology Magnetar was using to track White was used again, they landed on a Warp pad. White jumped off before the Stream could activate again and take her away. Wherever they had landed, White was greeted with an audience of Gem's gazing at her.

Before she could recover from the shock the Gem's cheered and she was assaulted by salutes, smiles, or frantic question.

"Yeah! Onion got her!"

"What should we do White Diamond?"

"The Alloys have taken control of the Warp Streams!"

White held up her hands to ask for silence, "What exactly is going on here? What world is this?" she asked.

A large Hessonite stepped forward with an explanation, "We're on one of Yellow Diamond's old colony's moon base. We got stranded here where our ships were attacked by the Alloys, or our Warp streams were infiltrated. Somehow, they have gained control of the whole Warp Grid! They are also collecting Gems."

White winced. She knew why the Alloys were collecting Gems but wasn't sure if she should share the horrific news with those who looked up at her.

Another Gem, a gold colored Chalcopyrite piped in, "We would have been done for if it wasn't for Onion and his friends! Organics in the Warp Stream seem to be invisible to the Alloys."

"Fusion Gems are hard for them to detect too it would seem," Hessonite interrupted.

Chalcopyrite nodded, "Onion and his human friends have been warping onto the Alloy ships and grabbing Gems and bringing them back here! We have been repairing ships and fusing to make ourselves invisible in the Streams like the Organics so we can save as many Gems as possible."

"Hold on," White said. She saw the Gems were talking about. A moon base had been converted into a Ship Docking bay and base for the collection of Gems arriving. A small group of Organics, all silent like their leader Onion, helped reformed Gems recently rescued. "I am still confused. How has a small band of Humans managed to predict the Alloy movements enough to stage rescues?"

The Warp activated behind her. From the Stream stepped a familiar face. The Fusion Garnet arrived with a bubble full of eight poofed Gems, and more alarming, a few Gem Shards. Garnet didn't look surprised by White's presence, but she seemed to be hiding her disappointment. "The Alloys are very predictable. They are all cemented in their orders from Magnetar. As long as he doesn't change his mind, it is easy to see with my future vision," Garnet explained as she handed her bubble to one of Onion's friends to take care of. "unmoving and stubborn, like others I know," she added.

White frowned at the fusion, "Very well. How do you see us winning in that case?"

Garnet considered those listening around them before releasing a sigh, "On the path we are on right now, we won't win."

Though scared, the Gems around them didn't look shocked by the news. Garnet must have already explained it to them. White on the other hand, wasn't willing to accept it. "Preposterous! We are billions strong and have been around for eons! And even though Steven disagrees, us Diamonds do have the corruption blast."

"You'll get in your own way," Garnet said.

"I beg your pardon!" White snapped.

"You don't want to admit you're scared, and not just in front of Gems or the other Diamonds. You don't want to admit it to yourself. But you can't take on Magnetar alone. If you try, we'll lose."

White sputtered. She struggled to come up with a defense to save face in front of the gawking Gems. "Have you forgotten who I am? Even with the Diamond Authority disbanded, I am the Gem Matriarch! I don't fear anything that threatens the well-being of my Gems!"

"The reformed Gems are coming around," An Amethyst reported to the group. White huffed and marched off to see the recovered Gems. Garnet sighed loud behind her, but White ignored it.

Seated on the ground with the other Gems rescued from the Alloys were a group of Rose Quartz. Natural comforters. Two of Onion's friends were also there, patting the shaken Gems on their backs. Among the reformed was a Nephrite. She had her face buried in her hands and knees. Onion's human friend who wore a pot on their head was 'shushing' her.

"We didn't want to talk when the Alloys demanded we did," the Nephrite whimpered when she noticed White over her. "White Diamond, they are looking for you. They think you're on Homeworld, we thought you were too…"

White knelt on her knees, to seem more sympathetic, and hear the low mumbling of the Gem. "What can you tell us about what happened?"

Nephrite shuttered, "They wanted to know where you were, and where Homeworld was. No one said, even when they started to shatter Gems in front of the rest of us. We knew we couldn't give up our Homeworld…But the biggest Alloy appeared," Nephrite whimpered and hid in her hands once again.

"Magnetar?" White guessed.

Nephrite managed to squeak out a yes. "He didn't even have to touch us. He was just, inside our minds. Inside our Gems. He could read our thoughts. He knew everything about Homeworld and Gem kind in moments. They are headed there right now!"

White stood, her fists clenched. Now other Gems had been mentally scarred by this Magnetar. "I'll put a stop to this," she promised the Nephrite, and everyone else present.

"You need to stay put," Garnet warned her. "If you go to Homeworld you'll be captured."

White glared at her, "I am a Diamond! I will not stand idly by while this enemy takes my world!"

Garnet's shoulders slumped. But to White's surprise, Garnet held up a hand towards her. "Then you need to be invisible in the Warp Streams. Fuse with me and they won't see you."

White had to use considerable effort so not to have her face blush. "I-I have never… My Gems are free to, fuse, but I have never had the need or desire! Not even with the other Diamonds."

"You're scared to share your mind with someone else," Garnet said, discreetly quiet among the Gems around them, "You don't want others to know your insecurities. You feel like you must be the strongest. Trust me, I can relate. But part of being a good leader is not letting my flaws get in the way of those I have to protect."

Now White was in true danger of blushing. She masked her embarrassment with an angry scowl. "The audacity! If you must know, I am only worried my inactivity will cause more of my Gems to be shattered! Now if you don't mind, I will return to Homeworld and do my job and save my Gems!"

"And how will you get beyond the Warping problem?" Garnet said just as White turned from her. "Magnetar will see you once you Warp. He will take control of the Stream you're in and bring you to him before you reach Homeworld. If you jump out of the Stream into the Void, you'll just be stuck like before."

To that, White had no response.

The Warp Pad suddenly activated with the sound of a Whistle. White saw Onion was the culprit. He dawned a space helmet and a small oxygen pack which he slung over his back. He smiled at White and gave a thumbs up before motioning for her to follow him.
