Normal-Exciting Days in Republic City!
The scene shows a lone boat in the ocean with Water Tribe two sailors doing some fishing, one is a young man looking at the during the night.
"This your first watch?" An old man sailor asked.
"Yes, sir." The young man sailor nodded.
"Well then, better keep your eyes peeled laddie. Ya never know what creatures lurk in the murky depths." The old man sailor warned, spooking the young man as the old man laughs walking away.
Unknown to them, a squid-like spirit swims beneath the boat with its many tentacles right behind it as the young man sailor saw this and becomes scared.
"Uh, sir." The young man sailor said.
"What?" The old man sailor asked then suddenly got wrapped by the spirit tentacles and drag down into the ocean.
"Man overboard! Man overboard!" The young sailor called out to the others.
But the giant spirit squid wrap its other tentacles on the ship slowly dragging it down the sea to never be seen again.
(Republic City, Pro-Bending Arena)
"Okay, Bolin, this is your big day." Mako said to Bolin.
"I don't know, Mako, I'm feeling pretty nervous and the Fire Ferrets hasn't been the same without you and Korra." Bolin scratched the back of his head.
"Don't be stupid, you trained really hard for this and working with the new recruits better." Mako gestured to the two new Fire Ferrets members.
One is a male Water Tribe boy that almost resembles Mako only the hair is more bowl shape and less spiky as the female Fire Tribe girl almost resembles Korra except her hair is more down and wears glasses.
"But we haven't won a single match in the past two months, people are calling us the fastest defeated team in the Pro-Bending history." Bolin remembered the laughs the crowds would give them.
"Yeah, but I've been helping you train for the past two weeks and you guys have been getting better. So, I know things will be different this time, you just need to have confident in yourself and how them that you're no losers!" Mako encouraged Bolin and the two recruits as they smile.
"You're right, we can't keep thinking negative thoughts or else we'll be letting ourselves down. You guys ready to give this our all!" Bolin smiled putting his hand in the middle.
"Sure/I'm cool with it." The two new recruits nodded as they put their hands on top of Bolin's with Mako, Pabu hops on the hands.
"Now, go out there and show them your blazing spirit. 1. 2. 3. Fire Ferrets!" They cheered and send Pabu in the air as Mako catches him.
The Fire Ferrets ready themselves to face against the Lion-Rhino team, each getting into their fighting stance and as the bell ring for the start of the match, all three Fire Ferrets quickly go down like they're about to do push-ups to dodge their opponents' attacks. Bolin is the first to go throwing some rocks at Lion-Rhinos with the female Fire Tribe member backing him up, the male Water Tribe wipe the water pushing one opponent member back even though he got push back himself.
"Wow, for the first time in two months. The Fire Ferrets actually manage to push back one of the opposing team back a line, seems like they really have been improving their skills and teamwork perhaps with a little help from a former Fire Ferret member, Mako." Shiro announced exciting.
"Yeah, that's the way to do it, guys!" Mako cheered.
Bolin try to keep the pressure on the Lion-Rhino's Fire-Bending member throwing more rocks at him though the opponent manages to dodge them and fire blast Bolin back a line, but Bolin made one last effort to throw a back that knock him back a line too. The female Fire Ferret member took the opportunity to fire blast the guy back to the and the water male Fire Ferret unleash the fastest water strike he could muster to finally knock one Lion-Rhino member out of the ring and into the water.
"Amazing! The Fire Ferrets have knocked down one Lion-Rhino, can they actually win this match and reclaim their honor!" Shiro excited.
But the two remaining Lion-Rhino manages to dodge the Fire Ferrets' attacks making them tire and knock them down into the water.
"Oh, spook too soon. Looks like the Fire Ferrets still got their work cutout for them, but at least they are making the match better than one sided." Shiro said.
"Nice work guys, that was definitely better than last time." Mako said to the three.
"But we still didn't win." The Water Tribe Fire Ferret boy sighed.
"That's okay, John. That's important is the result of the training, you actually lasted longer and took down one opponent when you guys couldn't react faster to defend." Mako pointed out.
"He's right, our Pro-Bending fighting abilities have increases up to 40%." The Fire Tribe Fire Ferret girl nodded with some math doing in her head.
"Exactly, Cindy, keep up with those improvements and I know you guys will be the champion of Republic City!" Mako believed.
"Oh yeah, now that's what I like to hear!" Bolin yelled in joy.
"Thanks, bro, even though you're not with me in the ring, I'm glad you're still cheering me on." Bolin thanked.
"We're brothers, we always have each other's back even though we're far away from each other. No matter, nothing gets between us." Mako said strongly.
"You know it." Bolin smiled as the brothers' fist-bump.
(Next Day, with Asami)
Asami is seen flying in the newest planes she and some workers still in Future Industries have been working on, she got surprise when she sees Mako flying beside and giggles as they went back on the ground.
"Mako, you could have told me you were coming to visit." Asami hugged Mako with a kiss on the lips."
"Just thought I come by to see how's my smartest girlfriend in the whole world doing." Mako answered.
"Great, just finish the test run on these new planes and I think these planes are finally ready to ship." Asami looked at the plane.
"I hate to mention the elephant-rhino in the room, but since your father was thrown in prison, no company will work with us. We're nearly bankrupt." An Engineer man informed in dire serious tone.
"Don't worry. I'm going to the South Pole to meet with someone who can help us put Future Industries back on top." Asami assured that her company will still be standing.
"If you believe that, then it's gotta be true." Mako believed in Asami's determination.
"Thanks, I just know everything is going to work out." Asami prayed that it will.
"Well, I'm about to head toward the Air Temple to check on Korra, wanna come?" Mako asked.
"Sure, I think I can take a break from checking on the other inventions and I want to see how Korra is showing off her ability to use Ki to the Air-Bending kids." Asami accepted the offer.
"Can you make this gets back into the garage and have the others set up?" Asami asked the Engineer man.
"Sure, it's no problem." The Engineer man accepted the task.
"Good." Asami said and Mako picks her up in a bride style and they flew away to the Air Temple.
"Wow, I don't think I'll ever get use to seeing that." The Engineer man surprised.
(Air Temple, with Korra)
Korra is seen racing against Ikki followed by Jinora and Meelo racing on air scouters around the Air Temple, Korra is in the lead with Ikki in second though she seems to be catching up to steal first place from the Avatar and the latter herself sees that. So, she decided to pull the stops and activate the Avatar State to increase the speed of her air scouter going way ahead of Ikki and crosses the finish line where Bumi is there coughing from the passing dust clouds. Ikki with an angry face came in second, followed by Jinora in third place and Meelo in fourth place.
"The Avatar is the winner!" Bumi announced.
Korra stops the air scouter and the Avatar State as she makes her victory at the approaching angry Ikki.
"No fair! You can't go into the Avatar State to win!" Ikki complained and Korra responses sticking her tongue out.
"You did what!?" Tenzin gasped as he walks up to Korra and Ikki.
"The Avatar State is not to be used as a booster rocket! You are toying with a dangerous power that you obviously do not appreciate!" Tenzin lectured.
"It's the Avatar State and I'm the Avatar. Who appreciates it more than me?" Korra asked.
"Clearly you need more training to grasp the depths of your spiritual connections, not to mention that you're still a long way from mastering airbending." Tenzin stated.
"I have mastered airbending!" Korra showed blasting some air punches and air wipe kicks until she stops. "See, mastered."
"Looks pretty good to me." Bumi said as he walks up behind Tenzin and put his arm around his neck.
"Is it too late for you to unretired from the United Forces?" Tenzin sighed.
"Guess you were right, Asami. Korra is showing off again." Mako said as he lands and set Asami down.
"Hey guys, Tenzin was just telling me how I'm not a master yet which clearly I am." Korra explained.
"All I'm saying you need to learn every airbending that was invented in the ancient times." Tenzin pulled out and unroll a scroll showing a map with Xs of the other Air Temple in the world.
"These Air Temples will give you the inspiration you need to look more deeply into your studies." Tenzin remembered how he visited those temples with his father long ago.
"Can we see where Grandpa Aang was born?" Jinora asked.
"How many lemurs can I have?" Meelo excited to see the lemurs.
"I wanna get tattoos! But instead of arrows, I want lightning bolts!" Ikki asked as she imagines herself with a lightning bolt tattoo.
"You can't get lightning bolts. That doesn't make any sense." Jinora stated.
"You don't make sense!" Ikki yelled at her older sister.
"Fight, fight, fight!" Meelo chanted.
"I see you guys are still lively as ever." Mako chuckled getting their attention.
"Mako! Jinora and Ikki are about to fight!" Meelo said jumping into Mako's arms.
"No one's fighting! We're going to have a wonderful time!" Tenzin stopped the fight before it could even happen.
"Now that the president is in office and I'm not needed on the council, I can finally relax with my family and give Korra the attention she needs." Tenzin smiled.
"Great, more attention." Korra grunted.
"Come on, Korra. Tenzin just wants to see that you're ready to handle the whole world with the big responsibility." Mako pointed out.
"Exactly, and this vacation is going also help you relax." Tenzin nodded.
"Hah! Relax ... I'd pay money to see that. Maybe I'll tag along just to see "Vacation Tenzin"." Bumi wanted to see how Tenzin has "Fun" on vacation times.
"You're not invited." Tenzin narrowed his eyes at his older brother.
"So… you excited to be going back to your homeland for the festival?" Asami asked.
"Totally! And I know you guys are going to have tones of fun, real fun in my hometown at the Glacier Spirits Festival. They've got rides, games, and all kinds of fried food on sticks." Korra told the kids as they get excited and Tenzin looks defeated from how the kids react to Korra's idea.
"Yep. There's Vacation Tenzin. And you can't stop me from going to the festival, Mom already invited me." Bumi informed causing Tenzin's eyes to widen and let out a frustrated sigh.
"I just hope I'll be able to get deal with this man, my company are on its last leg." Asami said worry.
"Don't worry, you're the most reliable and smartest girl in the whole world! That guy would be lost if he turned down a smart girl like yourself." Korra grinned.
"See, even Korra believes you'll do great." Mako said.
"Thanks guys." Asami smiled, happy to have lovers like them by her side.
Then Mako decided to take the opportunity to talk to Tenzin about something that's been bugging him for a while and walks up to the Airbending master.
"Tenzin, do you mind if I ask you something?" Mako asked.
"Sure, what seems to be the matter?" Tenzin wondered what Mako wants.
"I don't want to sound like you're bad or anything, but I think Korra might need a new way to learn about connecting to the spirits." Mako stated as calmly as he can get so he doesn't upset Tenzin.
"What?" Tenzin gasped.
"Oooooh!" Bumi pointed his fingers at Mako.
"Sir, it just that Korra has been having trouble with her spirit training and I'm starting to see you might not be the help she needs." Mako said.
"But I've been training in the art of Spirit Guidance since I was a child with my father, I'm what Korra needs." Tenzin stated.
"And I'm sure you are, but so far she hasn't been able to get into the Spirit World once and I was thinking she could meet someone different who can teach her Spirit Guidance and combine that teaching with yours to get in touch within herself better." Mako explained.
Tenzin was going to protest, but stop to think that Mako may have a point about how Korra is doing with her training as she hasn't even got a look at the Spirit World once and this is starting to remind him of how her airbending training didn't go well before becoming a Pro-Bender at the arena.
"Let's not forget that Korra can fly and shots deadly energy attacks! Like the time I fought a firebender who claim he could shoot a beam from his fingers, turns out it was a false rumor because he was using mirrors on his hands to reflect light through adding his fire, and I was able to capture the guy from enslaving a fire tribe village. They were grateful as they did a big party in my honor with dancing panda-lizard bear balancing balls on their noses, they were adorable!" Bumi bragged about his days in the military, making Tenzin and Mako annoy.
"Anyway… all I'm saying is that Korra could use a change a scenery to get her in the right mood and I'll even be there for her in case something happens." Mako said.
"Okay, I'm seeing where you are going with this. Perhaps the South Pole has their own teaching method of connecting to the spirits, and since Korra is from a Water Tribe she could get a better connection there." Tenzin stated.
"Glad you understand that sir." Mako said before walking away to where his girlfriends went off to, but then stop.
"By the way, have you notices something different about Jinora?" Mako asked.
"Not that I know of." Tenzin raised an eyebrow.
"If something strange was going on with her, I would have notices because I have seen stranger things like I met this one man's legs that was ten feet longer making him fifteen feet tall." Bumi exaggerated his military stories again.
"Well, I learned how to sense Ki from Master Kame and I notices that Jinora's Ki seems different, more… I don't know to put it, spiritual, I guess. Probably more than you." Mako informed.
"Jinora, but that would mean she has the spiritual connection. Can it be true?" Tenzin asked.
"I'm not sure, I just felt something from her." Mako shrugged before he walks away.
"Well, looks like this is going to be a great winter vacation, after all!" Bumi excited as Tenzin sighs.
