4,000,005 YEARS AGO
Shockwave stumbled upon a dark talisman that resembled the Matrix of leadership known as the Dark Spark. This talisman was said to be the equal and opposite to the autobot matrix, and was nicknamed the "Matrix of Chaos" by the mad scientist. Megatron decided to insert the device into his chest once he heard about it and discovered that it had a connection to Dark Energon.
Megatron and Shockwave then captured the autobot Cliffjumper to attempt to experiment on him by using the Dark Spark to remove his will to fight. However, Autobot spy Punch (in his Decepticon disguise as Counterpunch) managed to learn of this plan and notified Optimus Prime and his first lieutenant Jazz.
The 2 autobots managed to save Cliffjumper just in time, but Megatron then used the Dark Energon within the Dark Spark to resurrect several autobots he had previously killed into zombies known as Terrorcons. He battled Optimus alongside the terrorcons, and eventually used the dark spark to engage in a beam clash with Optimus, who fired a beam out of the matrix of leadership.
The power of the matrix eventually managed to overpower the dark spark's power, causing it to shoot out of Megatron and fly into space, where it eventually fell into a black hole and disappeared. Shockwave, who had sustained heavy injuries, dragged Megatron away as Optimus contacted the autobots and informed them that the Dark Spark had been neutralized.
Afterwards, Megatron had Shockwave build a trio of cybertronians known as Powerdrons, who possessed Powered Engines that would allow them to colonize worlds for the Decepticons. However, once the Powerdrons were brought to life by Vector Sigma, they realized Megatron's evil and turned on him, defecting to the autobots and informing Optimus Prime of huge amounts of raw energon that they had discovered on Earth.
Unbeknownst to them, this was because of the Vok seeding the planet with raw energon as a part of their experiments. Optimus immediately issued the order that once the ark was completed, it would be heading to Earth in order to acquire the raw energon and hopefully turn the tide of the war.
4,000,003 YEARS AGO
Not deterred by the defection of the Powerdrons, who now called themselves Powered Masters, Megatron ordered Shockwave to construct another cybertronian to aid in the war. This time, Shockwave constructed a female decepticon dubbed Megaempress, who herself created 3 other female decepticons named Moonheart, Lunaclub and Trickdiamond to act as her personal bodyguards.
Not trusting Megaempress, Shockwave sent a female decepticon spy named Flowspade to infiltrate her ranks, but Flowspade ended up being swayed by Megaempress's charisma and became truly loyal to her. After only a few months of being online, Megaempress would then attempt to control Megatron and the decepticons by seducing them with her special power, seeing Megatron as her "husband."
However, this attempted coup failed and Megatron had her and Flowspade placed into stasis lock and stashed deep within Cybertron's caves, where only the decepticons knew where they were. The other 3 then fled the planet to avoid sharing their leader and comrade's fates, and Megatron forbade Shockwave from ever trying to create more cybertronian life.
The scientist agreed, seeing how offput Megatron was about the whole thing. Starscream also took this chance to tease his leader about Megaempress's advances, only to receive a swift backhand to the face. Shortly after these events, Shockwave used Sentinel Prime's research to recreate the spacebridges for decepticon use.
4 MILLION YEARS AGO
The ark is completed, and while most autobots were preparing for takeoff, Swoop, a member of the autobot Lightning Strike Coalition, discovered a massive amount of untainted energon in the sea of rust, one of the most dangerous places on cybertron. He attempted to contact his leader Grimlock to tell him about it, but was knocked out and captured by Shockwave before he could say anything.
Grimlock, a brutish warrior who hated authority, defied Optimus's orders and hijacked an autobot dropship alongside the rest of his team to save Swoop. Once they arrived at the outskirts of Shockwave's tower, the Lightning Strike Coalition fought various Vehicon drones, eventually being overpowered by sheer numbers and brought before Shockwave.
Inspired by certain Trans-Organics he had discovered while researching Cybertron's various caverns, Shockwave began experimenting on the Lightning Strike Coalition. He used the critically injured Paddles as a test subject, successfully rebuilding his alternate mode into a monstrous beast and then ordering him to be dumped into the tunnels underneath the rust sea.
The rest of the team were rebuilt into powerful beasts who are locked in Shockwave's tower to later be used as his own personal warriors. Shockwave's experiments had also damaged the Lightning Strike Collalition's vocal processors, causing them to speak in a very bruteish, caveman-like manner. He even attempted to turn them into a combiner based off of legends of the enigma of combination and Nexus Prime.
However, this resulted in the creation of a horrific monstrosity dubbed the Beast, who nearly destroyed the entire tower. Luckily for Shockwave, he was able to subdue and disconnect the Beast, quickly locking the Lightning Strike Coalition back in their cells afterwards. However, he was eventually able to fully perfect the process, allowing a decepticon team known as the combaticons to combine into the giant Bruticus.
Meanwhile, with Grimlock missing in action, Optimus led his autobots to buy time for other teams to shut down Iacon and launch the ark. After helping Ratchet stabilize a wounded autobot flier named Silverbolt, Optimus sent Jazz to locate Grimlock, and then freed a downed group of autobots from a nerve center.
However, decepticons then invaded the area and began firing warp cannons at the ark. Optimus used a neutron cannon to defend the ark's refueling station from the decepticons. Once the cannon ran out of energon, Optimus headed back inside the battle station they were fighting in and was guided by a mysterious voice to its core.
The prime then pulled a level which caused the entire battle station they had been fighting to transform into the titan Metroplex, who had remained on Cybertron during the age of exploration. Metroplex quickly pledged his service to the last prime and helped him destroy the decepticon's warp cannons, but was heavily wounded by the last one. However, when Optimus was captured and dragged in front of Megatron by Starscream and the combaticons Brawl and Onslaught, Metroplex ripped off the roof and engaged Megatron in a brief battle.
Despite Megatron's dark energon powers, the Decepticon leader was seemingly crushed to death by Metroplex. Declaring himself the new leader, Starscream fled with the rest of the decepticons. Unfortunately, the battle had depleted all of the autobot's remaining energon. Sometime later, Jazz met up with the autobot Cliffjumper, who helped him find Shockwave's tower, a stasis locked Paddles, and the uncorrupted energon that Swoop had found earlier.
However, they were soon attacked by Starscream and the combaticons, who combined into Bruticus and destroyed the autobot convoy. They managed to take half of the energon, but only taking that half left Starscream unimpressed, with the new Decepticon leader ordering the combaticons to be imprisoned after Onslaught called him out on his bad leadership.
Meanwhile, Soundwave had recovered Megatron's remains and put them back together with the aid of his servant bots, and brought him back to life using an infusion of dark energon. Enraged at the news of Starscream taking his place as leader, Megatron swiftly stormed his throne room and put the treacherous seeker in his place. Megatron then headed to Iacon to scavenge Trypticon's components from Iacon.
He discovered that the autobots were using Trypticon's power core as an energy source, and with the aid of Bruticus, breached the base. However, Trypticon was still alive, but his legs were bound. Megatron released Trypticon from his bounds, but informed him that due to his failure, he would be converted into a decepticon battleship that would be dubbed the Nemesis.
The decepticon scientists did just this, but as the Nemesis neared completion, a disgraced Starscream hacked the decepticon's computers and discovered the existence of the trapped Lightning Strike coalition. He tracked down Grimlock and attempted to convince him to join his side, but was knocked into the wall of the cell in response as Grimlock escaped.
The LSC's leader managed to find his comrades Slug, Snarl, Swoop and Sludge, but they believed Paddles to be dead. The group then began destroying the various Vehicons and Grimlock confronted Shockwave at the top of his tower. In a climactic confrontation, Grimlock ripped Shockwave's right arm off and destroyed his personal spacebridge, causing a huge explosion.
However, both combatants survived, and as Grimlock was dragged away by the other members of the LCS, Shockwave retreated into the shadows. Back in autobot city, the autobots prepared to launch the ark, the ship being boarded by Optimus Prime, B-127, Ironhide, Jazz, Wheeljack, Trailbreaker, Brawn, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker and Prowl.
Before entering the ark, Optimus told Punch that if the ship didn't return, he would have to make sure that it was never found. The autobot spy agreed to his leader's request. As the shuttle prepared to launch, Elita One, who had been leading the defense of the city while Optimus helped with final preparations, ran up to her lover and begged him to let her come with him.
Optimus refused out of concern for Elita's safety, but before the fembot could protest, the decepticons attacked the launch site. With no other options, Metroplex sacrificed all of his remaining energon to power the ark at the cost of his own life. And so, the ship set off, Optimus believing that Elita had perished in the carnage down below.
The Ark was followed closely behind by the Nemesis, but the giant spacebridge Megatron had intended to use to transport the Nemesis across the universe had been destabilized by the destruction of Shockwave's tower. As the autobots and decepticons battled to reach the spacebridge first, it exploded, causing both ships and their crews to be flung across the galaxy.
Unbeknownst to Optimus however, Elita had survived the attack on the Ark's launch tower and would go on to lead a guerrilla cell against the remaining decepticon forces on cybertron consisting of herself, Chromia and the autobots Obsidian and Strika, with the LSC forming their own independent rebel cell.
Meanwhile, the Ark and Nemesis exited the spacebridge on the outskirts of the Milky Way galaxy, where they would travel to various colony worlds. First they visited Velocitron, where they discovered Clocker and witnessed the planet descend into civil war, and then they went to the trash world of Junk, where the decepticons found and attacked them.
Optimus contacted Vector Prime using fragments of his sword that the autobots had found on Velocitron, and the old prime helped him reunite the pieces of Nexus Prime, allowing them to remerge and defeat the decepticons. Optimus then received a vision of the Allspark and left with the other autobots aboard the ark to find it, but was pursued by not only the Nemesis, but Star Seekers.
They were incredibly excited at the chance to kill cybertronians, but when they briefly faced the Nemesis in battle, they were defeated and forced to flee. The autobots and Decepticons were later forced to team up in order to free Aquatron from the Quintessons, and managed to succeed before leaving to continue the search for the Allspark.
Finally, 2 Earth weeks later and 6 Earth months after the fall of Cybertron, the ark arrived in the Azazel asteroid cluster, where it had detected the energy of the Allspark. However, before the Autobots could disembark to retrieve the relic, the Nemesis ambushed them and began attacking. Optimus was forced to activate an old spacebridge near the Allspark to attempt to escape, but the Nemesis followed them.
By sheer coincidence, both ships exited the spacebridge just above Earth. The Decepticons then boarded the Ark, and the chaos of the battle onboard forced Optimus Prime to send the damaged ship hurtling into the planet below, while the abandoned Nemesis was left to fall all on its own.
The ark crashed into a volcano that would later come to be known as Mount St Hilary, sending all aboard into stasis lock, while the Nemesis landed into the deep depths of an ocean. B-127 and Soundwave had both managed to escape the ark via escape pods before the crash, but ended up landing in the Himalayas and what would become the American countryside respectively.
The 3 Vok assigned to watch over Earth, Pakak, Tonrar, and Tikanni, were aware of the autobots and decepticon's crash, but seeing as neither side could affect anything while in stasis, they chose to ignore them. 2 Earth weeks later back on Cybertron, with Megatron seemingly dead, Trannis, commander of the city of Kaon, became field commander of the decepticons.
Shockwave, who had replaced his destroyed right arm with a laser gun arm, acted as the true behind the scenes leader. Under their combined command, the Decepticons conquered most of cybertron. With the situation growing dire, Elita One and her group tracked down and stole a huge number of protoforms, bringing them to the Cyber-Ninja master Yoketron.
Yoketron agreed to stash the protoforms under his dojo as a last resort if the autobots needed to bolster their troops, but refused to involve himself in the conflict.
3,800,000 YEARS AGO
With Traniss and Shockwave's forces rapidly closing in on Iacon, which at this point was the last major autobot stronghold, Emirate Xaaron formed a special ops team known as the Wreckers, consisting of the autobots Whirl, Rack n' Ruin, Topspin, Roadbuster, Leadfoot, Twintwist, and the leader, Xaaron's old friend Impactor.
Their first mission was to assasinate Trannis, with them being aided by Omega Supreme and Ratchet. However, the Combaticons came to Trannis's defense, nearly fatally injuring Omega Supreme as Bruticus. Luckily, the Wreckers managed to separate Bruticus and successfully killed Trannis. Afterwards, Ratchet ordered the fatally injured Omega Supreme to convert to shuttle mode and enter stasis lock in order to preserve his life, which he did.
Unfortunately for the autobots, another Decepticon leader soon rose up. That leader was a decepticon named Straxus, who became Shockwave's new subordinate. Around this same time, their forces having been depleted by the constant fighting, the Decepticons managed to rediscover budding, using it to bolster their forces.
However, this would quickly restart the process that had begun eons prior of Primus's essence being diluted by the Decepticons budding, as a new, horrifying being would begin to grow above cybertron. Meanwhile, a young and cocky draft dodger who shared the name of Prowl was found by the autobot Warpath and brought to the cyber-ninja dojo.
Yoketron, seeing potential in the young cybertronian, decided to begin training him in the ways of the ninja, stripping him of his weapons and mods and gradually tempering his cocky and arrogant nature.
3,799,990 YEARS AGO
After 10 years of Cyber-Ninja training, Yoketron revealed to Prowl that he hoped that he would become his successor. He also showed the young autobot the chamber containing the autobot protoforms. However, Prowl was unable to replicate Yoketron's use of Processor over matter to close the chamber, so he was sent on an "Optics Quest" to find his center.
Around this same time, the decepticon Lockdown, one of Yoketron's former pupils, left the decepticons to become a bounty hunter, lending his services to the highest bidder.
3,600,000 YEARS AGO
After 100,000 years of fighting, the budded decepticons, having no love for their dead husk of a homeworld or its people, chose to abandon them to pursue conquest of their own, discovering Liege Maximo and pledging their services to him. Together, they built a series of interconnected planets called the Hub by terraforming inhabited worlds and wiping out their populations.
Meanwhile above Cybertron, the being that had been forming out of the corrupted Primus energy was finally completed. Later named The Swarm, it left to begin consuming life in order to find purpose, wiping out countless worlds over the next several million years. No one was the wiser to this, however.
Back on Cybertron, the autobots and decepticons still on the planet would continue to fight until the lack of energon on the planet caused every cybertronian that still remained on it to go into stasis lock. The event would later come to be known as the great shutdown.
3,500,000 YEARS AGO
2 ships appear in a transwarp explosion above the Earth, each being piloted by descendents of the autobots and decepticons from millions of years in the future. The autobot descendents were named the Maximals and piloted the Axalon II, with the crew consisting of Optimus Primal, Cheetor, Rattrap, Nyx and Rhinox.
The Decepticon descendents were called the Predacons and piloted the Darksyde, with its crew consisting of Megatron II, who had named himself after the original Megatron, Dinobot, Tarantulas, Waspinator, Scorponok, Skold and Terrorsaur. After a brief dogfight, Nyx, the Axalon II's pilot, rammed the ship into the Darksyde, causing both ships to crash on Earth.
Before they crashed however, Optimus Primal ordered all stasis pods onboard to be ejected, which they were. Once the 2 crews came too, they were forced to scan the various animals inhabiting the planet due to the huge amounts of unrefined energon littering it, the advanced organic skins of their alternate modes preventing their bodies from building up too much energon and exploding, which was what would happen if they stayed in robot mode too long.
Optimus Primal, who had scanned a gorilla, sent Nyx, who had scanned a bat, to scout the area. However, she was captured by Terrorsaur, who had scanned a pteranodon fossil, and interrogated for information aboard the Darksyde as to the status of the other Maximals. When Nyx refused to comply however, Megatron II had Tarantulas use a device he had created called the transformation lock lens to trap her in robot mode, where she would eventually die.
Horrified and enraged by this dishonorable action, Dinobot chose to betray the Predacons and destroyed the transformation lock lens, allowing Nyx to escape. Dinobot also fled the Darksyde, and while making his way to the Axalon II, he found a barely alive Nyx who didn't have enough energy to make her way back to the ship.
Seeing this, he decided to hoist her over his back and carry her all the way back to the Axalon II. Once Dinobot arrived, the Maximals were initially wary of him, but Optimus Primal was impressed by his nobility upon hearing the story. So, when the Predacons appeared to finish off the traitorous Dinobot, Optimus Primal saved his life and helped drive off the Predacons.
After Nyx was repaired, she and Dinobot ended up striking up a friendship as the Beast Wars between the Maximals and Predacons began. Early into the conflict, both sides increased their ranks using the Maximal stasis pods. The Maximals managed to retrieve 2 stasis pods, and out of them emerged Tigatron, a Maximal who transformed into a snow leopard and became infatuated by nature, and Airazor, a female falcon transformer who grew close with Tigatron.
The Predacons also managed to bolster their ranks by getting to one of the Maximal pods first, reprogramming the Maximal within into the Predacon Blackarachnia. However, shortly after Airazor joined the Maximals, Terrorsaur, Waspinator and Tigatron accidentally stumbled upon Brigadoon. The other Maximals and Predacons were called to the island to investigate, but various traps were also on the island.
Blackarachnia soon managed to discover the glyphs that were used to control the defenses and took control of the island, and the Maximals realized the island's true purpose as a testing ground and rushed to destroy the central Obelisk. However, Blackarachnia forced all of them to get to cover by firing blasts wildly and then began flying to the Axalon II at full speed.
Having no other choice, Tigatron destroyed the Obelisk's power generator, with the Maximals and Predaons barely escaping as the island crashed into the ocean. Afterwards, the Obelisk sent a distress signal to another, similarly designed building on the Vok's disguised moon base, alerting them to Brigadoon's destruction. Already having briefly abducted Optimus Primal previously, the 3 Vok guarding Earth were infuriated and began heading to Earth.
Shortly after the destruction of Brigadoon, the Predacons increased their ranks again by reprogramming another Maximal stasis pod, with it becoming the insane fire ant transformer Inferno. The Maximals would also have to contend with a Waspniator possessed by the time-displaced spark of Starscream, but defeated him and sent him back into space.
Some time after these events, Tarantulas discovered that the Vok were coming and attempted to find a way to flee the planet. However, he was unable to do so before the Vok arrived, carrying out further scans and capturing Airazor and Nyx. They painfully scanned the two's minds and learned that they hailed from Cybertron.
The Maximals and Predacons made a temporary truce in order to defeat the Vok, and Primal and Rattrap made their way inside the Vok's Bio-dome. Rattrap saved Airazor and Nyx while Primal stayed behind to confront the Vok. The Maximal leader was restrained by a series of whip-like metal tentacles and painfully scanned. Once they were done, Pakak appeared to Primal in the form of Unicron, who he had learned of through scanning Primal's mind.
He then told him that the transformers had contaminated their experiment, and they were going to blow up the Earth in order to "sterilize" it, much to the horror of Primal. Tikanni protested her colleague's hasty actions, telling him that they needed Earth in order to exist, but these words fell on deaf ears. The Planet Buster was then unveiled, and began charging.
During all of this, Tarantulas and Blackarachnia had stolen a Maximal pod and converted it into a ship that could escape the planet. However, Blackarachnia betrayed Tarantulas and attempted to take the ship for herself, taking his cyber-goggles to attempt to link to the ship, but it ended up causing her and Tarantulas to form a permanent mind-link.
The Vok's planet buster then fired at the Earth, superheating the planet and threatening to ignite all of the energon deposits on it, which would blow it to smithereens. Luckily the Maximals discovered the modified stasis pod, and Optimus Primal decided to fly it up to the planet buster and destroy it with a transwarp explosion. However, Megatron II had previously modified the transwarp cell that Tarantulas had stolen for the pod, leaving Primal trapped inside.
The pod then collided with the planet buster, destroying both it and Primal in a massive explosion. The resulting quantum surge hit the planet, mutating Cheetor, Rattrap and Megatron II into "transmetals" and knocking Terrorsaur, Scorponok and Skold into a nearby pool of lava, killing all three of them.
The wave also damaged the DNA scanners of 2 Maximal protoforms that were scattered across the planet, mutating them into "Fuzors", transformers whose alt-modes were fusions of two different animals. The fuzors, Quickstrike and Silverbolt, were both recruited by Megatron, but Silverbolt had doubts about the Predacons.
While the Maximals retrieved a stasis pod containing a blank protoform, Tigatron and Airazor left to find more while Rhinox conducted a dangerous experiment to attempt to access the cybertronian afterlife. As this was happening, Dinobot went wandering into the wilderness. Observing the single moon that now orbited the planet, Dinobot realized that the planet they had been fighting on, which up until this point they had been calling "Energoa", was actually the planet Earth.
Megatron had already known about this and had originally planned to change the flow of history with a secret plan, but once he realized where he was, he was so daunted the the enormity of the task he was planning to do that he had put it on hold and had instead been attempting to harvest the planet's huge amounts of raw energon.
Soon after the realization that Energoa was Earth, Dinobot broke into the Predacon's base and stole 2 golden disks. One was a disk that Megatron had stolen and what the Maximals had initially been chasing him down for before they arrived in the era, and the second was a disk used by the Vok to control their machines.
He returned to the Maximal base just as the predacons launched a massive attack on it. Back at the predacon's base, Blackarachnia found and downloaded Megatron's backup file for the golden disk, and then destroyed the computer. The predacons overwhelmed the maximals in their battle and their fliers took off for the Axalon, but the Maximals managed to stop them and spared Silverbolt's life.
Once Rhinox finished his experiment, he joined the others just in time to be overwhelmed by Predacon firepower. Luckily, the tide was soon turned by the resurrected Optimus Primal, who had been restored in a transmetal body thanks to Rhinox's experiments with the blank protoform. With Primal's leadership, the maximals managed to drive off the predacons, and Silverbolt then joined them.
Some time passed after this, with Dinobot briefly rejoining the Predacons due to questioning his place in the Beast Wars thanks to what he had seen on the golden disk, but he ultimately rejoined the maximals, unwilling to aid in Megatron's insane ambitions. However, this incident caused the other Maximals to start to distrust him, even Nyx, who the Ex-Predacon was still close friends with.
However, he did explain the details of Megatron's disk to Primal. Even longer after this, Tigatron and Airazor, who had formed a romantic relationship with each other during their time searching for the Maximal stasis pods, stumbled upon a valley with alien plant life that abducted the pair into space, the observing Cheetor unable to save them.
Soon after this, Megatron II stole back the Vok's golden disk from the Axalon II and Tarantulas deemed himself no longer under Megatron II's command, but also the only chance the predacon leader had at surviving the coming alien attack. As both factions convened at the site where Tigatron and Airazor vanished, a huge Metal Hunter spaceship appeared above them all, grown from the plant that had abducted Tigatron and Airazor.
The ship was created by Pakak and Tonrar with the purpose of wiping out both the Maximals and Predacons. The ship unleashed a massive transmetal wave, briefly knocking out the transmetal transformers and sending the rest into stasis lock. Once Megatron awoke, he managed to take control of the ship and prepared to take it back to Cybertron.
Luckily, the Maximals, with the aid of Tarantulas, managed to destroy the ship and the vok disk before it could leave the planet. After Primal and Waspinator briefly encountered a human girl time traveling from the future, a massive stasis pod with an X emblazoned on it was discovered by Cheetor and Nyx.
The pod contained a failed Maximal experiment to recreate the immortal spark of Starscream in a Maximal, and the Axalon II's initial mission had been to dump it on a random planet, since the test subject, "Protoform X", had gone insane from the experiments and slaughtered an entire colony world. The Predacons soon learned of Protoform X and fought the Maximals over it, but an explosion separated Blackarachnia and Silverbolt from their respective groups.
They worked together to get back to the others, forming the beginnings of a relationship in the process, but ended up running afoul of the newly awakened Protoform X. once the Maximals and Blackarachnia defeated the rogue transformer, Megatron II cut out a piece of X's spark and used it to torture him into being a loyal Predacon, with him then being named "Rampage."
Not long after, Dinobot's existential crisis that originated from knowing that he was on Prehistoric Earth came to a head with him tracking down and seeing Megatron II destroy a mountain, slightly altering history. Upon realizing that history could be changed, Dinobot observed Megatron and his predacons attacking a group of cavemen in order to eliminate mankind before it could evolve.
Dinobot would ultimately go down fighting through the predacons to save the cavemen, using the last of his strength to destroy the last golden disk. By the time the Maximals realized what was going on and arrived to help, it was already too late. In his final moments, Dinobot asked that he be remembered for both his heroic and evil deeds.
With him being redeemed in the eyes of his fellow maximals, Dinobot's remains were cremated soon afterwards.
3,499,999 YEARS AGO
A damaged Maximal stasis pod was unearthed by tectonic activity, and out of it emerged a deformed skeleton robot with a child-like nature who was dubbed Transmutate by Rampage. Both SIlverbolt and Rampage attempted to befriend the deformed cybertronian, who despite lacking the ability to transform, possessed incredible power due to being in possession of a rare One-Percenter spark.
Megatron II dubbed Transmutate a freak, and the other Maximals believed that due to Transmutate's instability, it would be safer if she was placed into stasis lock. Silverbolt was disgusted by his fellow Maximal's suggestions, and he and Rampage would later battle over Transmutate. Transmutate attempted to stop the fight, but was sadly destroyed in the process, leaving both bots devastated.
Shortly afterwards, the Transwarp wave front generated by the Planet Buster's explosion finally reached Cybertron. However, both factions were shocked when the transformer who came to retrieve them was covert agent Ravage of the Predacon Alliance, who in the present day was one of Soundwave's servant bots.
While Ravage helped the Maximals finally apprehend Megatron II, Blackarachnia took off for a distant location. She was pursued by Silverbolt, who tried to get her to join the Maximals, but she refused. She then tried to get him to join her, but Silverbolt refused as well. The 2 lovers from opposing sides eventually found the future Mount St. Hilary, which Megatron II had previously dug a hole in and then sealed back up.
The 2 began working together to unearth it, and back aboard Ravage's transwarp cruiser, Megatron II was interrogated in a holding cell. Ravage then revealed that Tarantulas had been a mole for the Tripredacus Council the entire time. While Ravage didn't wish to leave any living witnesses, Megatron II then revealed to him the real reason why he stole the Golden Disk: It contained not just a large energon source, but a message from the first Megatron.
Still a loyal Decepticon even after 300 years, Ravage freed his Predacon captive and teamed up with him. Afterwards, the Predacons launched a full scale attack on the Axalon II which the Maximals barely managed to overcome, destroying both Ravage and his ship. Meanwhile, Blackarachnia and SIlverbolt managed to successfully unearth the Ark. Having previously attained the ship's activation codes from Megatron II's backup golden disk files, Blackarachnia planned to take it for herself.
However, Megatron II then arrived and threatened to kill Slverbolt if Blackarachnia didn't give him access to the Ark. She begrudgingly agreed and held off the Maximals approaching the Ark with one of its cannons, and Megatron II made his way to the bridge and soon found the dormant Optimus Prime.
With nothing left to lose, Megatron II executed his original plan by routing all power to his primary weapon and blasting Prime in the head, hoping to kill him and alter history so that the Predacons won the great war. This was the plan originally inscripted on the Golden Disk by the original Megatron, and the true reason Megatron II had gone back in time.
The blast to Prime's head caused a massive timestorm that caused the Maximals to begin glitching out of existence as they glimpsed the new reality that would be born from his death: A reality where the Autobot and Decepticon war never truly ended and both factions were eventually reduced to stationary beings called Builders, who created the Maximals and Predacons as a slave class meant to continue the war in the form of gladiatorial blood sports.
However, Blackarachnia, having originally been a Maximal protoform, didn't much fancy the idea of being wiped from existence. So, she ejected Megatron II from the Ark using the ship's security system. She and Silverbolt then put Optimus on life-support, stabilizing the time storm and stopping the Maximal's visions of the alternate future.
Optimus Primal then took Optimus Prime's spark into his own to save him, causing the Maximal commander to be transformed into a new form dubbed "Optimal Optimus" by Megatron II. This allowed the Maximals to drive the Predacons out of the Ark, but unfortunately the unguarded Axalon II was sunk into a deep river by the Predacons soon afterwards.
In the wake of this, the Maximals made the Ark their new base, Blackarachnia joined them as a Maximal aligned Predacon, and Optimus Primal put Prime's spark back into his body, causing the time storm to cease. Shortly afterwards, a Maximal named Depth Charge arrived on Earth, hunting for Rampage. He didn't get along with Primal's Maximals, but did prove a good help against the Predacons.
Some time after Rampage's arrival, Megatron II used a device called the Transmetal Driver and carved out half of Rampage's spark to create a Transmetal II clone of Dinobot. Cheetor and Depth Charge stole the driver, but Cheetor was caught in the explosion of Megatron's Organic Transmetal Unit and was seemingly killed. Once Depth Charge returned to the Ark, he disposed of the Driver, but Blackarachnia recovered it and kept it for herself.
Soon afterwards, a savage cyber-creature began terrorizing Maximal and Predacon alike. However, it was soon discovered that this was actually Cheetor, who had been mutated into a Transmetal 2 form by the OTU and couldn't control his beast mode. Luckily, Optimal Optimus was soon able to help his young friend get back to his senses.
After some time passed, Blackarachnia attempted to use the transmetal driver to turn herself into a transmetal 2. Silverbolt intervened however, causing her shell program to begin to degrade. Before Rhinox attempted to remove it, Blackarachnia would give the Ark's access codes to Optimus Primal. However, Tarantulas ended up finding out the procedure and attempted to disrupt it by attacking the Maximal base.
During this attack, one of his safeguards in the shell program managed to reach Blackarachnia's core consciousness, rendering her braindead. Enraged by this, Silverbolt embarked on a vengeful crusade and nearly killed Tarantulas in retribution until Rampage stepped in. However, the Transmetal Driver revived Blackarachnia as a Transmetal 2 Maximal, allowing her to save Silverbolt.
Shortly after these events, Megatron II and Tarantulas used a control suit piloted by Quickstrike to take over Primal's body, allowing Megatron II to enter the ark and absorb the original Megatron's spark into his body. Tarantulas then had Quickstrike push Megatron II into a pit of lava so that he could rig the ark to explode.
However, Megatron II survived and emerged in a new Transmetal 2 dragon form. Blackarachnia then freed Optimal Optimus's mind and stopped the ark from blowing up, and after a short battle with Optimal, Megatron retreated through the mouth of Mount St Hilary. Shortly afterwards, Tarantulas discovered the Nemesis at the bottom of the ocean and decided to restore the ship for his own purposes, keeping it secret from the others.
Elsewhere in the universe, Pakak and Tonrar detected the time storm created by the near death of Optimus Prime. Knowing that their superiors would be even more angry with them if they found out about this, they fused the still abducted Tigatron and Airazor into a new being they dubbed Tigerhawk, sending him down to Earth to take care of the Predacons.
Interrupting a trial being held against Quickstrike for his previous betrayal, Tigerhawk destroyed the Predcacon's base and easily defeated the evacuated Predacons, preparing to destroy Megatron II before Optimal Optimus arrived to stop him from destroying the original Megatron's spark. The Maximal commander was defeated by Tigerhawk, but the Vok creation in turn was quickly subdued by Tarantulas.
The spider attempted to control Pakak and Tonrar, but both emerged out of Tigerhawk and entered Tarantulas's body. Tarantulas was then destroyed by his own machine, but Pakak and Tonrar survived and fled the planet. Cheetor then saved Tigerhawk and the combined spark of Tigatron and Airazor took its rightful place in Tigerhawk's body.
Shortly afterwards, the Predacons, now more desperate than ever without a base, split into two teams. Inferno, Quickstrike and Waspinator were sent out to find a new base while Megatron II, Dinobot II and Rampage explored one final option from the late Tarantulas, planning to get to the Nemesis and commandeer it.
However, only a few hours later, while Inferno and Quickstrike planned to take the arthropod's cave dwellings as their own, Waspinator finally grew fed up with constantly being blown up and renounced both the Predacons and the Beast Wars. Meanwhile, the Maximals rushed to stop the Nemesis from launching and Depth Charge and Rampage perished in a final battle against each other.
However, the Maximals efforts were in vain, as Megatron II managed to activate the Nemesis and raised it out of the sea, beginning to blast the area. Tigerhawk and Nyx perished in a last brave attempt to stop the vessel, Inferno and Quickstrike were caught in said blast and became collateral damage, and the Maximals desperately tried to reactivate the Ark, but to no avail.
The Nemesis soon reached Mount St Hilary, forcing Optimal Optimus to enter the ship and engage Megatron II in a final one-on-one battle. All the while, Dinobot II had a sudden change of heart, Rampage's death allowing the original Dinobot's spirit to take control. He secretly leaked word to the Maximals about an autobot shuttle known as Autobot shuttle Omega-Delta and then refused to open fire on the Ark with the Nemesis's fully charged fusion cannon.
In a last gambit to save them all, Rhinox then flew Autobot shuttle Omega-Delta into the Nemesis's bridge, crashing through the viewport and going out the other side, dragging Megatron II along with him. Optimal Optimus begged Dinobot II to save himself, but the clone instead bid him farewell as the bridge exploded around him. As the Nemesis flew into the distance, eventually crash landing in South America, Optimal rejoined the other Maximals.
Sometime later, after visiting Waspinator to ensure that he was no longer a threat and returning the original Megatron's spark to his body, the Maximals equipped Autobot Shuttle Omega-One with a transwarp drive and shackled Megatron II to its roof. As the shuttle flew off into transwarp space, Optimus Primal declared the Beast Wars to be over.
Back on Earth, Waspinator was left to rule the Arthropods, now finally happy. However, unbeknownst to either the Maximals or the Predacons, Tarantulas had survived his supposed death and used the residual Vok energies from Pakak and Tonrar to revive himself in an undead form. He then revived Ravage and began building an army of Predacons from the remaining stasis pods on Earth. Among these troops were the Predacons Fractyl, Spittor, Iguanas and Razorclaw.

Realizing the growing threat of Tarantulas and his army, the Vok used the transmetal driver, Quickstrike's discarded control suit and the energies of the Matrix within the dormant Optimus Prime to create a new being they dubbed Primal Prime, who was set to be their champion. In addition, the Vok also resurrected Tigatron, Airazor and Nyx in new Transmetal bodies.
This new Maximal group began awakening new protoforms across the planet in order to oppose Taratulas's army, and while their first recruit, the Maximal Packrat, was relatively compliant, their second find, Ramulus, was extremely angered and short tempered due to believing that Optimus Primal had abandoned him.
After a disastrous initial battle with Tarantulas's forces that resulted in Primal Prime having the matrix of leadership in his chest stolen by the spider scientist, the Maximal commander was sent into a coma. While the Predacons began construction of a transwarp portal to send the matrix to Tarantulas's true master, Unicron, in his native era, the Vok appeared to the unconscious Primal Prime.
They explained their mission to safeguard Primus's grand plan, and merged into a single energy entity that used Primal Prime as its vessel. This awakened Primal Prime from his coma and made him even more powerful. Meanwhile, Waspinator grew tired of ruling the Arthropods, and they in turn grew sick of him.
The wasp transformer was evicted from the human settlement by being catapulted from a tree, and seeking things to do, he decided to join up with Primal Prime's Maximals. So, when the next battle occurred, the Maximals were able to turn the tide. Spittor and Fractyl defected to the Maximals, Nyx and Airazor both gave their lives in order to destroy Ravage, Iguanus and Razorclaw and Primal Prime ultimately defeated Tarantulas and reclaimed the matrix.
Tarantulas then fled back to his native time period using the transwarp portal. Afterwards, Waspinator used the portal to return to his native era as well, and after returning the Matrix to Optimus's stasis locked body and building a ship by reverse engineering the remains of the sunken Axalon, Primal Prime, Tigatron, Spittor, Fractyl, Packrat, and new recruit Sonar followed behind him.
However, only a few days later, 3 servants of Unicron from the year 2007 known as the Sparkbots arrived in this era and released a large amount of Angolmois energy into the Earth, allowing Unicron to be resurrected in his original energy based form. Luckily, an avatar of Primus from the same time period as the Sparkbots followed behind them and managed to stop them, destroying Unicorn's energy form.
He then sealed them and Unicron's energy in Earth's core, creating a titan known as Brave Maximus to guard them and ensure that the chaos bringer would never return. He then returned himself and the 3 human girls that had accompanied him to 2007.

The budded Decepticons, now calling themselves the Cybertronian Empire, discover Unicron consuming one of their planets. Knowing that they had no chance of destroying the chaos bringer, their leader Jhiaxus struck a deal with him: The Cybertronian Empire would become his heralds in exchange for him not consuming any of their words.
Detecting the lack of Primus's energy within the Cybertron Empire, Unicron agreed to their terms. However, Jhiaxus would tell Liege Maximo about Unicron's arrival and the deal in secret soon afterwards, and Liege Maximo chose to allow it to continue, planning to betray and destroy Unicron once the Hub had grown to the point where Maximo could ascend to godhood. This had always been the original plan and the reason why the Hub was built.
Meanwhile, a subgroup of Paradronians decided to leave the planet and settle on a new world known as Omnitron, where they began mining and processing energon and ended up rebuilding themselves into a smaller form of cybertronian known as Omnicons. These cybertronians would eventually come to be led by the female Moonracer.
