The Beginning of a Black Tail (Part 3)
A/N: Quick design changes that haven't been mentioned, Gray has bandages over his right arm and magic circles that Fairy Tail characters sometimes have are not present unless stated to not conflict with Mana Method. Also, I've realized after making a joke in the last Author's note that I have no idea who Yuno should be with (Charmy is a gag and I'll keep it as such), so give any recommendations on that. I'm cool if it's a BC or FT character (I already have a cross series ship planned, take a guess who it might be), so go ahead and pick whoever. I might just make him asexual if I can't come up with a good pairing.
'Facing down an army of dark mages ready to kill me and my friends?' Asta thought to himself. 'This is a great test before we get into Fairy Tail.'
Asta immediately rushed toward a large group of mages wielding swords, pulling out the large claymore from his grimoire and swinging it wildly, clearing out several with each of his swings. "Hey Yuno, let's see who can take out more!"
Yuno calmly opens his grimoire, unleashing a wind spell that clears out most of them instantly. "Well, it looks like I'm winning already, try to keep up," he says with a smug look on his face.
Noelle stands in front of Mimosa as a bunch of thugs charge toward them. "The girls seem easier, lets attack them," one exclaims while they raise their sword toward them.
Noelle raises her wand with a determined look on her face as she starts charging it with mana. 'I haven't had much time to practice with this, but I hope it works!'
As she finishes charging, the wand shoots out a controlled blast of water at her foes, knocking them out and blasting them away. Noelle simply scoffs and waves a hand through her hair, calmy stating, "Of course you fools stood no chance against me." Internally however she excitedly thinks, 'Oh my god, it actually worked! Yay me!'
As the last of the dark mages are defeated, Erza and Lucy walk up to their new allies. Erza requips into her normal armor as she walks up to Asta and his friends, appraising them the whole time.
'The wind and water mage showed off a decent amount of skill there,' Erza thought to herself 'and the swordsman while rough, still has talent.'
"Oh man, that was exciting," Asta exclaimed with starry eyes, "I took out a dozen guys, how about you, Yuno?"
"Hm, I easily took out 2 dozen guys," Yuno smugly states, infuriating Asta.
"Grr, well next time I'll take out 3 dozen guys – no 3 dozen and one guys, then you'll see how it feels!" Asta angrily yells him.
Lucy just stares at them in shock as one thought goes through her head looking at their argument. 'They're just like Natsu and Gray'
As the two rivals continue bickering, Erza coughs loudly into her hand. "Ahem, if you two are done arguing with each other, I wish to speak with you."
This seems to get the duo to stop as Erza begins talking to them. "Thank you for the assistance, though I would like to know the names of the four young mages who helped us."
"Oh, well my name's Asta, this guy here is Yuno, and the girl with elegant silver hair is Noelle, and the one with vibrant brown hair is Mimosa," Asta states, not noticing the flustered looks the girls have with his unknowing compliments.
Lucy stares at him in shock with Asta's blunt yet caring words to his female friends but realizes that he seems completely oblivious to their reactions. 'Did he really just say that with a straight face?'
Erza simply ignores the comments and the other two girls' reaction and begins talking again. "Thank you very much, Asta, Yuno, Noelle, and Mimosa. I wasn't as attentive as I usually am during fights because I had used a lot of magic on the way here."
"No problem, those guys seemed like bad news anyway. We had just stopped here on our way to Magnolia when these assholes broke into the place," Asta explained.
Lucy looks at him, confused at his response. "Why were you trying to get to Magnolia?" Lucy asks them.
"Well duh, we wanted to join Fairy Tail of course!" Asta responds. Yuno then takes a look at Lucy's hand and then taps on Asta's shoulder. "What is it?" Asta asks him. Yuno simply points at Lucy's hand which holds the guild mark on it.
…
A moment of awkward silence passes before Asta exclaims with starry eyes, "Whoa, are you guys really in Fairy Tail!"
Yuno sighs at his reaction while Lucy raises her eyebrow. "Did you really not know?" Lucy asks. "Erza Scarlet is one of the most famous mages in Fiore and one of Fairy Tail's S-class wizards. How could you join and not know who she is."
"Well, we don't really get magazines out in the Forsaken Realm, so we don't really know a lot about guilds and their members," Asta explained.
This time, Erza raises an eyebrow at his words "You're from the Forsaken Realm?" Erza asks them. "Yeah, me and Yuno are from a little village called Hage," Asta explained.
As the conversation continued, Yuno looked around and noticed some of the dark mages limping away into the hallways. "As interesting as this is, some of them are waking up and running away," Yuno says.
"You're right. Unfortunately, I must ask you once again for your help, two of our friends are also around the station looking for Erigor. Can you assist them and round up any stragglers," says Erza.
"Of course, this can just be considered our first job as Fairy Tail wizards – even though we technically aren't in yet," Asta declares.
"Noelle, Mimosa," Asta yells, snapping the two girls out of the delusions they've been having the entire discussion. "Yes," they shout in response. "Stay back here and help Erza, me and Yuno can handle these chumps."
"Lucy, go with them, I will be enough to handle things here" Erza also shouts. "Happy, you go too." "Aye sir," Happy says, as those who haven't seen him before all look shocked at him popping up out of nowhere.
"Whooooooooa, I've never seen a cat like that before! Is he really flying!" Asta ecstatically exclaims with the stars returning to his eyes. Noelle simply looks at in nervous excitement, as she thinks 'That is the cutest thing I've ever seen!'
"You'll have to time to fanboy about the magic talking cat later Asta," Yuno says while summoning the wind around him, "We've got a job to do." "Wait up!" Asta and Lucy cry as they run after Yuno riding a controlled platform of wind. As the three run off, Erza bends over, her façade breaking as her insane car driving has now caught up to her.
Mimosa, noticing Erza's state runs toward her and pulls out her grimoire. It lights up with a green glow as she starts initiating a spell. "Plant Healing Magic: Princess-Healing Flower Robe." As she casts her magic, flowers appear across her body and green wings grow on her back.
"I can't recover your magic, but I can still help with the physical pain from magic exhaustion," Mimosa explains as the spell starts making Erza feel better. "Thank you. I expected you to be a support mage of some kind since you didn't attack anyone, but I wasn't expecting something as rare as healing magic," Erza says.
After a few minutes of healing, Erza feels good enough to walk around. "Thank you for the healing," she says while stretching her body, "I didn't expect healing to feel so refreshing."
Erza then gets a serious look as she starts walking away, prompting Noelle to ask, "Where are you going?" "I must warn those outside that their boss Erigor is still around. He has access to a very powerful weapon that kills those who hear it, and the station has plenty of speakers that could broadcast its sound," Erza explains, "Be careful and watch out for him, I'm trusting you."
As Erza leaves the room, Mimosa pats Noelle's shoulder to get her attention. "What is it," Noelle asks. "That blonde girl, Lucy, I feel like I've seen her before," Mimosa states, "though I can't figure out where it was. How about you?"
"Now that you mention it, I feel like I know a blonde Lucy from somewhere, but I can't remember who it was either," Noelle responds while trying to remember. 'I wonder why I'd know who some random blonde is.'
Gray was not having a good day so far.
Ignoring Natsu being the most annoying asshole there ever was (as usual), he was forcibly brought on a mission with him and hadn't a good fight so far. This finger whip guy he was currently dealing with definitely didn't count, as his ice magic was easily handling this guy's ass.
And when the idiot (whose name he can't bother to remember) revealed their "master plan" to him, his mood did not get any better.
The dark mages whips were currently wrapped around his body and arms. As he prepared to use his ice magic to shatter them, he suddenly felt the wind around him blowing. At first, he was worried that Erigor had come back to help his guildmates until he looked at the dark mage who was also confused at this occurrence.
The cause of the wind showed itself when a handsome young man with messy black hair, golden eyes, and a pendant holding a blue gem walked into the room with a glowing four-leaf grimoire floating next to him. "So," he began, "you plan to kill the guild masters at Clover, huh."
The two mages stare in awe at his control of the wind as Yuno prepares his spell. "Well, it would be a start to my Wizard King journey if I let that happen," he declares with a smile on his face, "Wind Magic: Towering Tornado."
A torrent of green wind forms giant tornado that rushes toward the dark mage, ripping him and his whips to shreds as the spell does its work. Gray stares at the attack in shock noting the newcomer's power, 'He's really good. That tornado is almost as strong as one of Natsu's roars.'
As the spell finishes and the whip mage falls to the floor. Yuno turns to gray and extends a hand. "My name is Yuno. I'm the future Wizard King and soon to be your new guildmate."
Natsu's day wasn't going as great as he thought it would.
He should've known when the day started with riding a train. He cursed his draconic senses every day for making travel an inconvenience. He wishes Dragon-slayer magic came with free wings, but he can only hope that they'll grow in one day.
To make matters worse, when he woke up on that train, he noticed the flute the idiot he was fighting had. He immediately recognized it, but couldn't continue fighting on the train, lest he somehow lose against this jobber.
He had been on edge after that, since he knew what they were after before Lucy even explained it to him. He knows the creatures that the black wizard made were dangerous, as did all wizards who have been on enough tough jobs because he had made so many of varying strength. Some could demolish countries while others could be defeated by a mage of decent strength.
He just knew a bit more about them than most others.
He thought that he'd get to fight a whole guild of dark mages with Lucy and Erza to raise his spirits (and Gray, but he doesn't count), but no, he and the ice stripper were sent to go after a few goons that they could handle after a drinking game with Cana.
The dark mage (whose name Natsu can't be bothered to remember) had shadow magic, but it was only slightly better compared to what Rogue could do, and he hadn't seen him in seven years. Putting aside the reminder of the family he couldn't find (and getting pissed of at the only one he could), he easily demolished the disgrace of a shadow user in one hit.
As he's about to beat the information out of the dark mage, he hears footsteps coming around the corner, the cause of which being a small young man with ash blonde hair and a headband with a red cross on it. Natsu immediately felt on edge, as he could feel dark energy wafting off of his covered right arm and his grimoire, which he could swear glowed brightly for a second when he looked at it.
Only twice has he felt like this since Igneel disappeared. The first time was when he met Mirajane (and Lisanna), when she showed up with an arm that she claimed came from being possessed by a demon. In her case, she had been using a unique form of Take-over magic that let her absorb demons for power and didn't know how to control it.
The second was when he and Gray fought after making a comment on the mark Natsu called a tattoo on his right arm. Gray claimed it was a birthmark, but his dad said that people wouldn't like it. After teasing Gray about it for a bit they were about get into a fight like usual, but he could sense the dark energy in the arm rise a bit and how mad it made Gray when it did. He dropped it and they never talked about it since.
This was different.
With Mira and Gray, he could at least feel their own magic signatures when their demonic powers activated. With the new guy though, he didn't feel any magic at all coming off from him, as if he didn't have magic. He could still feel the vibe of demonic energy coming off from him though as if it was simultaneously magic but not at the same time.
Almost like a contradiction.
As Natsu relives bad memories, the young man runs up to him with stars in his eyes. "Whoa, the station was just shaking a second ago, was that you who did that," he exclaims excitedly, "That was awesome I guess that's what a Fairy Tail wizard is capable of!"
Natsu jolts at Asta's actions but responds with his normal arrogant bravado. "Of course, Fairy Tail is #1, and we don't let jackasses like this guy take us down!"
He then hears more footsteps coming and sees the rest of the Fairy Tail mages and the Fairy Tail aspirants rushing toward them.
"Good job Natsu," Erza says as they near the duo, "We need him to undo a barrier that Erigor has cast around the station." She then turns to the beaten man and threatens him with a sword, "You are going to help us, or else you will have so many swords inside you that you'll look like a pincushion."
As the dark mage begins to fearfully agree to her words, a hand suddenly phases through his chest. Everyone can only stare in horror as the dark mage writhes in pain, until he falls over revealing the man who had done such the cowardly act shaking as he phases back inside the wall.
Before anyone can react, Asta pulls out his giant claymore, smashing the wall to pieces and knocking out the wall phaser in one hit. He looks down at the dark mage with anger in his eyes and lays his sword upon his shoulder. "I don't really know much about these guys or what you're trying to achieve by doing all of this," Asta says while shaking with anger, "But I do know that they're supposed to be comrades and hurting each other is the last thing comrades should ever do!"
As Asta stews in his anger, Mimosa begins healing the injured shadow user. "I can heal him, but he won't wake up for quite a while after that injury." "Curses," Erza exclaims, "how are we supposed to deal with the barrier now?"
"Ahem"
Everyone turns to Yuno at his loud cough as he simply points at his rival, "Asta can do it."
As everyone reconvenes in front of the wind barrier Asta pulls out his giant sword again. "So, what exactly is he going to do," asks Lucy. "Just watch," Yuno says, "My rival wouldn't let a something like this stop him."
As Natsu and Gray take notice of Yuno's words, Asta slices the wind with his swords, leaving a cross shaped hole in it before the magical wind dissipates entirely.
The Fairy Tail mages jaw drops at the simple maneuver done by the short swordsman who looks back at them with a smile on his face. "Well," Asta begins, "I can't be Wizard King if a small breeze like that could slow me down."
Before any words can be said in response to Asta's actions, Natsu rushes past everyone being carried by his feline companion. "I'll see you guys later, there's a windbag whose ass needs a butt kicking!"
"Natsu, wait," Erza shouts in vain as Natsu flies further away on Happy's wings, "Damn it, we'll have to hope that Natsu can manage on his own. I hope you all are okay with tight squeezes because we'll all have to fit in the magic mobile."
Gray and Lucy have shocked faces at her words, leaving the rest of the mages to be confused at their horrified reactions.
They now understood.
As Erza drives the car drives forward at blistering speeds across the train tracks, the passengers are actively trying to not lose their lunch. Mimosa especially has problems trying to heal the injured shadow mage in the back. Thankfully, they hear the explosions of fire and wind off in the distance, meaning that the fight between Natsu and Erigor is finishing.
They finally reach the end of the battle and see Natsu standing over Erigor's defeated body, though his shirt had apparently been blown off in the fight at some point. As they start talking about their next move however, the magic mobile drives past them with shadows coming out of the car, grabbing the Lullaby flute on his way past them.
"Hey asshole, what the hell," Asta exclaims at the accelerating vehicle, "Mimosa puts all that effort into healing you, and that's how you repay us!" "Quick," Erza orders the rest of them, "after him before he gets to the guild master meeting!"
As they finally reach Clover, they find the discarded magic mobile close to the guildhall and try to find the shadow mage nearby. They eventually find him in front of a short old man in a jester outfit, holding the flute to his mouth.
"Oh no," Erza says, "That's our guild master, Makarov. We must save him before it's too late!" Before they can move however, a young woman in a pink witch's outfit and a tall lanky man with black hair and a scar over his eye get in front of them.
"Hey guys, hold on," the pink witch says, "the old timer has it handled so don't worry about it." "Yeah," the menacing man says, "I feel like cutting something right now, so if you don't wanna die then stay put."
"Who do the hell are these guys," Asta asks. "The woman in pink is Dorothy Unsworth, the guild master of Blue Pegasus," Erza explains, "And the man threatening to stab us is Jack the Ripper, the guild master of the Green Praying Mantises."
They then watch Makarov give a heartfelt speech to the dark mage, who relents and throws down the evil flute. "Great job, Gramps," Natsu exclaims while emerging from the bushes.
"Why thank you Natsu," Makarov says before noting Asta, Noelle, Mimosa, and Yuno, "And who are these young lads and lasses?" "We're just a group of wizards hoping to join Fairy Tail," Asta explains.
"Well, I'm sad to say you can't join our guild," Makarov says, leaving the Fairy Tail wannabes shocked before he finishes, "I don't have a guild stamp on me right now. You'll have to wait until I get back to the guild."
"Wait, is that it," asks Mimosa, believing it too good to be true. "Why of course," the old mage said, "we let anyone join as long they ask."
As everyone begins celebrating over the soon to be Fairy Tail wizards, Asta walks up to the shadow user who is sitting down on the ground.
"What do you want," he asks Asta, "I'm not gonna fight any-" "That's not why I'm here," Asta says interrupting him, "Guys like you were deemed as dark mages because you kept killing people, right?" The shadow user simply nods his head. "Why didn't you just join another guild?"
"We were a guild of commoners, so there wasn't much pushback from being branded as a dark guild. It was either quit being a wizard or keep going as a dark mage, and most of us had nothing else going for us so we decided to keep going as we were. The first time we took an assassination quest was on accident, but after it got out that we did one the damage was done," he explained.
"Well, I'm going to change that."
Everyone looks at Asta in confusion when he utters those words as he begins monologuing. "You obviously didn't get a chance because the people in charge didn't think much of you guys. The country I want to make isn't gonna be one where you're doomed to suffer due to your status in life, it's one where everyone is treated equally and can understand each other. That's the kind of country I'm gonna make…
…When I become the Wizard King!"
Silence is the only sound that can be heard as those assembled heard Asta's declaration, but the first to respond is Yuno, as he begins laughing. "Of course, you had to go and steal the show Asta but don't get ahead of yourself," he says triumphantly, "The one who's going to become the Wizard King, will be me!"
Unfortunately, the atmosphere is broken by the resident fire-breather when he asks the stupidest words possible.
"What's the Wizard King?"
Everyone falls on their face at Natsu's oblivious words, with Asta recovering and immediately grabs his clothes and starts yelling in his face. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THE WIZARD KING IS! HE'S THE MOST AMAZING STRONGEST GUY IN CHARGE OF THE COUNTRY, ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU'VE NEVER HEARD OF HIM! HAVE YOU BEEN LIVING IN A CAVE!"
After Natsu recovers from Asta yelling so loud that his draconic ears start ringing, he gets angry and shouts back at him. "SORRY I DON'T PAY ATTENTION TO POLITICS PAL! ALSO, OF COURSE I WAS LIVING IN A CAVE, WHERE DO YOU THINK IGNEEL RAISED ME, HUH!"
"Be quiet, both of you," Erza exclaims as she slams her fists down on both of their heads, leaving the two hotheads dazed on the ground. Everyone sweats at her violent outbursts, before they start hearing ominous laughing.
"Heh heh heh," a disembodied voice says, "I tire of your antics, humans."
Everyone looks around before realizing that the voice is coming from the Lullaby flute lying on the ground. "I hunger for your souls, and I will wait no longer!"
Suddenly a giant magic circle appears in the sky, causing the flute to begin transforming and growing into a giant tree demon. "Now cower in fear of my awesome power," Lullaby exclaims as it begins stomping around the forest.
"Woah," Asta exclaims at the sight of the giant demon, "It's so huge now! How are we supposed to defeat it now!"
"Don't worry," Natsu declares while cracking his knuckles, "It may be big, but it's not that strong. Stand back newbies, let us veterans show you how its done Fairy Tail style."
Natsu, Gray, and Erza then begin attacking the demon, leaving the rookie mages staring in awe at the skill that the strongest team in Fairy Tail display. Lucy especially watches helplessly as her friends fight without her. 'So that's how strong they are,' she thinks despondently before finding her confidence again, 'One day, I'll be worthy enough of standing with the rest of them.'
As the trio continue attacking the demon, it starts charging energy its mouth, leaving most of the mages watching the battle cowering in fear. "Oh no, it's going to fire an attack, we need to move," Lucy shouts out to everyone.
"No way," Asta yells, "I can't be Wizard King if I run away now!" "Now is not the time to be a stubborn idiot," Noelle begins arguing with the swordsman before seeing giant demon looking directly at him and starts screaming, "Asta, look out!"
As the demon lets loose an attack, Noelle can only look on in fear as it gets closer to Asta and flashes back to him saving her and Mimosa and the gifts he bought them. She then remembers her and Mimosa's earlier discussion about their feelings towards Asta and her own doubts.
'I may not know how strong my feelings are for Asta, but I do know one thing,' she thinks in her head as her grimoire opens and a new page opens, 'I don't want Asta to die!'
Noelle raises her wand and before the laser can hit, she shouts out, "Water Creation Magic: Sea Dragon's Lair!" A giant orb of water appears around the onlookers and blocks the attack from hitting them. After the smoke from the clash clears, it reveals the barrier held strong and kept everyone safe.
"I… will protect… you," Noelle says before passing out and dispelling the defensive spell. "Noelle," Asta and Mimosa exclaim as they run to check on their friend. Makarov looks on at the passed-out girl, noting the power she displayed. 'That amount of magic power, she must be a royal,' the old man thinks, 'and that silver hair means she's of the Silva family. Seems that we have even more interesting recruits. I thought that she was the only one of a notable background that would join us," he thinks while looking at the third unknown royal in the area.
"Hey tree-face," Natsu shouts out at Lullaby, "don't target the audience during the fight! Especially," he says while charging fire in both hands, "when you're about to lose! Fire Dragon Brilliant Flame!"
A giant fireball shoots out of Natsu's flames and then begins to burn the demon of Zeref to death. As the demon dies, his last thoughts are not of pain or hatred to the mages who killed him, but rather feeling of the flames burning him. 'How can it be? These flames,' Lullaby thinks as it's burned to cinders, 'while weaker, these are still the flames of him, the Destroyer of all Things, E… N…"
Cutting back to the mages, Noelle wakes up to faces of Asta and Mimosa on top of her. She remembers her siblings criticizing her lack of control and starts to fear that they'll sat similar things, only to have her worries blown away by their heartfelt words. "Oh, thank god you're okay," says Mimosa, "we were so worried when you passed out." "That spell was really cool, when did you learn how to do that," Asta said with stars in his eyes while leaning down to Noelle's face. Noelle then freaks out and accidentally shoots him with a blast of water and shouts out, "Too close!"
"Glad to see that everyone's okay," says Makarov looking fondly at his 'children', "now that the demon is dealt with, I will now teach our newcomers the most important lesson a Fairy Tail mage must learn." Everyone listens intently to Makarov, waiting for the sagely wisdom of the guild master.
"How to run away after destroying something!"
The mages all blink in confusion before looking back at the crater that used to hold the conference hall the guild masters were using.
"Oh," they all say.
They all then begin running away from the wreckage of the battle and the angry mob that starts chasing after them. As they run over the hill, a bird with a bored, expressionless face looks on, taking notice of the magicless swordsman.
'Guess I'll have to keep a closer eye on him.'
We cut to a dark chamber hidden in an unknown location, where a scroll is laying on a stand.
A young girl with snow-white skin is also standing in the room with her head down. She has long night-black hair put into a ponytail and her eyes glow a bright yellow. She's wearing a white robe that has sleeves that are slightly too big and leaves her upper back uncovered. On her wrists and ankles are several golden bracelets adorned with jewelry. Her hands have white fingerless gloves on and she is holding a pure white grimoire with 5 white leaves. Yellow outlines of stars then appear in her eyes as she begins talking as if the words aren't her own.
"The wheels of fate are turning and the mana in the air is in flux. The child of the heavens will soon find one loved by the stars and the fairy of wind will find one beloved by mana. The dragon's legacy will unite and demons of both man and hell will begin their conquest. This age is the start of a black tale, one blacker than any other in history, and the end will be decided by battles of humans, elves, dragons, demons…" white feathery wings then emerge from her black, shooting feathers everywhere. The feathers begin floating to the ground as she raises her head.
… and angels."
Wondering who that mystery girl is? Don't worry we'll get to her soon, though it may not be hard to guess what she is.
Discussing a change I made in character appearances, yes Dorothy is replacing Bob as the head of Blue Pegasus and I am replacing Quatro Cerberus with the Praying Mantises, though I'm keeping the members of QC that we see later in there. The old guild masters never do anything anyway and I just though the vibes of the captains meshed well with those guilds. I can totally see Dorothy surrounding herself with hot young people and Jack having someone like Bacchus in his guild.
I feel like I should clarify that Asta's arm is not the one he currently has, the skin is just black and he has the red cross on his hand. It's close to what his arm looks like when Devil Union runs out, plus the red cross which I think looks cool. We'll get to see more of it in the next chapter, plus an explanation on what the arm can do in this story. Let's just say, the time will come and so will I. (Guess what I'm referencing with that phrase).
Another change you may have noticed is Natsu and his thoughts. To make things clear, he doesn't remember much about his brother, not even his name. He remembers what he looks like, his constant talking about contradictions, and thinks that he was researching the demons of the book of Zeref. He thinks his ability to sense demons is because he was around them so much when he lived with his brother. He does not know about E.N.D., but he has some memories of Tartaros that we'll see much later.
Final change I wanna talk about this chapter that I feel needs elaborating on is Gray. You probably noticed that I gave him his demon slayer mark early. He doesn't have Demon slayer magic yet, and there is a reason that he has the mark already, but you'll have to wait until Galuna Island starts before we get to that.
I'm announcing now that my decision on the ship question from last time is that Natsu X Mira is not happening. I feel like I would be cramming too much into that relationship very early if I just smashed her in. Asta X Nero is still happening though because I think it's kind of cute. Though I will address right now a problem I have with Nero; why does she not know anything about Licita or Liebe? She said that she was watching over the grimoire for centuries, but never comments on the last person to hold that grimoire or the devil that inhabits it. I'll eventually explain what she does and doesn't know when she gets back her human form, but for now just think about it.
Also, anyone worried about ships that don't have any substance in canon, don't worry I have plenty to put in. Especially Wendy X Romeo because I have big plans for those two in this story, though Romeo won't get to do much for a while.
Next time we finally get to a real arc, the Dungeon Exploration arc. It may be short, but who knows what our heroes will discover. Where are the rest of the Black Bulls? Who will even go on the mission? All that and more to be found out next time on a Tale of Black Fairies.
Next Time: "The Knight Vs The Black Guardian"
