"Can't believe I overslept like this," said a teenaged boy as he rushed toward school with his bag in hand.
"You're late too, Chul?" asked a girl who caught up to him.
"Yeah, I didn't even have time for my morning blood pack," said Chul.
"Will you be alright without it till lunch?" asked the girl with a worried expression while looking at the boy.
"Don't worry, Hana, I have a pack with me to drink when I get to school so I'll be fine after getting there," said Chul. Later at lunch, he was eating with Hana and two others.
"So, your power was still out this morning?" asked another girl.
"My area got hit hard by the storm last night, Bitna, they say it could be days before it gets back on," said Chul.
"I'm just glad that we have a generator for our refrigerator otherwise my blood would have gone bad overnight," he said.
"That is good at least, and what about you, Hana?" asked the other teen.
"I just forgot to set my alarm, Hwan," said Hana.
"That makes sense," said Chul before picking up his blood pack.
"So, what are we doing after school today?" asked Hwan.
"Because I bet the bowling alley is out of power too since it's in Chul's neighborhood meaning we won't be able to go over there like we had planned," he said.
"Could be back on though by the time we leave school," said Chul.
"True, it wouldn't hurt to check it out," said Bitna.
"I'm in," said Hana. They then went quiet as they heard a boy who went walking by say under their breath 'damn vampire'.
"Why you," said Hwan as he went to stand but was stopped by Chul.
"It's alright, idiots like them will always exist so it's no use wasting energy on them and getting angered," said Chul.
"Plus, I like my vampire half no matter what others say," he said with a smile.
"Just promise to tell us if anything bothers you, we'll always be here for you in cases like that," said Hana.
"You got it," said Chul.
