After L sends the Death Note in for forensic investigation, the Japanese government starts a secret project to research it. This leads to a series of events in which Rem is killed before she can kill L, and Light is found out for good. In response, Light initiates his backup plan to overthrow the Japanese government in a violent coup and embark on a world conquest!
