30. Chapter 30: Author's Note

To everyone who enjoyed the story—thank you so much for your support. It truly means the world to me. And to those who didn't, instead of simply commenting things like "I hate this fic," I'd really appreciate constructive feedback or suggestions that I can use to improve future arcs like the Chunin Exams, the invasion, or the Tsunade retrieval.

I added the Demon Brothers into the fight purely to give Hinata some combat time. In canon, Sakura being useless was fair, but since I showed Hinata training alongside Naruto and Sasuke and made her genuinely strong, it felt wrong to just have her standing on the sidelines doing nothing. The plot I created to bring the Demon Brothers back was that Kakashi sends Pakkun to the Leaf to request backup and have shinobi take them into custody—but later, in Chapter 28, I reveal that Raiga rescues them from those shinobi.

I'm a bit torn on whether to keep this as one complete story or to start a new fic for the Shippuden era.

As for Sasuke—I don't want him going to Orochimaru, but I also don't want to skip that arc because it's really good and introduces characters like Karin, Suigetsu, and Juugo. So I have two ideas:

1. Hiruzen survives the invasion. Sasuke gets a bit jealous that Naruto gets to train under a Sannin, so Jiraiya suggests Sasuke ask to become Hiruzen's apprentice. That way, Sasuke ends up as ANBU commander by the time Shippuden begins. I can still do the retrieval arc—only this time, the Sound Five (with Kimimaro and Kabuto) kidnap Sasuke because he's not yet strong enough to take them all on alone. With this, he can work under perfecting his Hakutora, which uses bojutsu to wield, Hiruzen's specialty.

2. Sasuke leaves voluntarily with the Sound Four, but when Naruto catches up to him at the Valley of the End, Sasuke tells him he's going as a double agent—like his brother—and that Tsunade is already aware of it. This also gives sasuke access to the snake techniques that he learnt in canon, which I thought were really cool. With this, he can also have a dual summoning contract, similar to Naruto (both their second summons will be revealed in few chapters)
