While making a delivery in the Historic District,Cole MacGrath is instructed to open the package,to which he did so. The Ray Sphere device has been activated,leveling six city blocks,nearly killing him,& granting him electrokinetic powers. After he was rescued by Zeke Dunbar & Trish Dailey,Cole begun teaching himself to control his powers.
After he fought against the Reapers,The locals turns on Cole after he was accused of triggering the explosion,forcing him to hide. Cole & Zeke meets an FBI Agent Moya Jones,who persuades him to return & find her husband,John White,who was supposedly tasked with investigating a group called the First Sons.
With her help,Cole restores the district's power supply, earning the attention of Sasha,a former member of the First Sons,who lures him to her underground lair. He defeats her,but the Sons abduct her before he can make her talk. Trapped in the Warren,Cole assists what remains of the police in battle the Dust Men,an army of homeless militants led by Alden Tate,the original leader of the First Sons,who possesses telekinesis. Cole & Zeke learned that Alden is planning to reactivate the Sphere. Zeke takes possession the Sphere before Alden goes on a rampage toward the Historic District. Cole defeats him on the bridge. Before he jumps in the water,Alden reveals that Kessler,a shadowy figure who controls the First Sons,exiled him from the First Sons.
White,who turns out to be an NSA agent with no connection to Moya,reaches out to Cole & explains that the Ray Sphere is designed to consume bio-energy from thousands of lives & transfer it to a single user,making them into Conduit. Cole & Zeke met Kessler,who publicly challenges him to stop a series bombing across the district. He fails to stop them & Trish was killed. The Sphere releases the last of its energy,killing John before disappearing into a vortex. Cole battles with Kessler. Aided by Zeke,Cole mortally wounded Kessler with a massive energy discharge. Before dying,Kessler transmit a message into Cole's brain. He is revealed to be Cole from the future of an alternate timeline,who was raising a family before they were killed by the Beast,a malevolent entity. Future Cole sends himself back in time,taking the name Kessler,& seized control of the First Sons. Zeke meets with Cole,who believes that he will be ready when the Beast will appear.
Mid-Credits: The Private Army found a Capsule at Kessler's lair,which contains a clone of Cole.
