Long Time Ago,Kratos & his wife,Faye had a child,Atreus. After her passing,Kratos & Atreus spread her ashes and notice about the upcoming of Ragnarok & Atreus was referred as Loki by the Giants.
Near the end of Fimbulwinter,They are being ambushed by Freya,who tried to kill them for the death of her son,Balder,but they quickly escape. They notice that their wolf,Fenrir had died. Atreus begun grieving & transform into a bear. Thor arrives along with his father,Odin,who proposes leaving them alone if Atreus abandons searching for Tyr and that they kill Freya to make up for killing Magni,Modi,& Baldur. After Kratos refuses,Thor fights with him,but gets defeated. Kratos,Atreus,& Mimir take refuge at Brok & Sindri's home on a branch of Yggdrasil and later rescue Tyr in Svartalfheim. They soon learn that only Asgard is fated for destruction while other realms survive under a new champion.
Kratos & Atreus argue over destiny. Atreus fled to Asgard to attempt to prevent Kratos' death. He is somehow ended up in Jotunheim where he met Angrbods,who shows him a mural. Atreus is entrusted with spiritual stone containing the souls of Giants,putting one in a snake's body. Kratos went to see Freya,who agree to spare Kratos if he helps her break the curse binding her. He explains about his vengeance against Olympus before finally broke the curse and meets with Freya's brother,Freyr.
At Asgard,Atreus meets Thor's daughter,Thrud,who took him to Helheim where he release the soulless giant wolf,Garm,who tears holes between realms. After reuniting with Kratos,Atreus resurrects Fenrir by transferring his soul into Garm. In Vanaheim,Kratos was forced to kill Heimdall before claiming Gjallarhorn,setting Ragnarok in motion. Atreus assembles the mask & took it to Tyr. Brok became suspicious to realize that Tyr is calling Atreus Loki like the Asgardians before got fatally by him,who reveals himself as Odin in disguise. Sindri blames Atreus for the cause.
Kratos & Atreus commit to Ragnarok,entering Muspelheim to help Surtr achieve a destined primordial form to destroy Asgard. The Elves & Vanir are gather to struggle with Asgard's defenses and Sindri comes along to avoid more dwarven deaths & the army is forced to rescue the Midgardian refugees. Angrbods arrives with Fenrir & the snake Atreus saved,now grown into Jormungandr,who battles Thor while Sindri destroys the wall. Thrud & her mother,Sif learned that Odin used refugees as shields. After Thor knocks out Jormungandr,He battles Kratos,but is convinced to stand down to help his family,only to be killed by Odin for disobeying. Kratos,Atreus,Freya,& Mimir defeats Odin & destroys the mask. Atreus traps Odin's soul in a spiritual stone, which Sindri smashes. Surtr destroys Asgard as the group escapes while Freyr sacrifices himself to buy time.
Angrboda shows Kratos & Atreus a mural of Faye had destroyed so they could determine their own fate. As the unforgiving Sindri attends Brok's funeral,Thrud wields Mjolnir to honor her father. Atreus wants to find the surviving giants and bids farewell to Kratos,who discovers a mural depicting himself as the god of peace & justice.
