Justice Across Space and Time: Year 2

Chapter 10

Now for 2-B to figure out what is going on with these attacks and try and put a stop to them. Though they'll also have to deal with some others rampaging and protecting the civilians. And you'll get more of a peek into the villains I've made for this arc. So on with the show.

(Itsuka POV)

Well crap. This is…. going to be a problem. Whatever that was that hit Rin, it's making his quirk react in weird or extreme ways. "Run! Can't GRAWWAAWA!" he managed to grunt out before roaring.

"Not gonna happen Rin. I can't let you run wild." I say while taking stock of the situation. Which involves a lot of dodging and blocking. I used the shields from the gauntlets to stop the scales Rin fired first before evading the tail he somehow grew. "Wait a minute. That's not natural to his quirk… but it might be down the line. So that's it."

As I evaded a few more attacks before tossing out some shock traps to keep Rin focused on me, I put some of it together. "Rin! Listen! I know it probably hurts, but you have to slow down! I think you've been hit with Trigger!" I shouted while trying to find an opening.

"ROARAARAA!" my forcefully turned into a dragon classmate says or responds. Great. This won't be easy. But being a hero never is. I just need to keep him away from the homes of those ones who are living up here.

Time for my Ken no Nami! I focus my ki into my hands and quickly chop upwards. Unlike when I first created this technique, it can actually fly further. Impacting Rin's head and forcing him to focus on me. Now for something new. "Mitsumoto-me no ken! Uneru nami!" I call out before launching multiple blades of ki.

Rin roars again as some of his scales come off to show the teen beneath. One problem though: my hands and arms are killing me after that. "Time to go back to basics. Come and get me dragon butt!" I shout before running off into the trees.

My classmate keeps following me and crashing through and into more fallen trees and even a boulder. I've got a bad feeling someone might really appreciate these results, but I can't worry about that now.

"Sorry Rin," I say quietly while tossing a few of the restraint items at him. As well as dropping shock traps to make his muscles cramp. Now for the last piece. As he is roaring at me once more, I throw one of Melissa's special knockout grenades into his mouth.

The gas takes a few seconds to work, but he starts to collapse to the ground. But the strange mutations aren't going away. "At least not yet. Still should get a blood sample." I think aloud before taking a syringe out of a med kit I started carrying a little before the start of the year.

I hear a set of crashes and other destruction happening, but I can't worry about that now. "You've got this Tetsutetsu. Just try and help Setsuna." I mutter as I call for some help while keeping an eye on my surroundings.

(No POV)

"Crap! CRAP! CRAAAAPPPP!" Tetsutetsu shouted as Setsuna's body parts were raining down upon him. Destroying many trees and boulders in the wake. "Make it stop!" Setsuna cried out as tears and a bit of blood came from her eyes.

The iron teen grit his teeth before picking up a few rocks to throw at her head. "Maybe if I knock her out this'll stop," he thought aloud while throwing. Only to be headbutted from behind. "Wait…. What the Hell?" he cried out upon seeing Setsuna now having two heads.

And then there was a third and fourth. "Wait…. Her quirk lets her regenerate if she loses a part right? Then…. Maybe what did this is forcing it to mutate in some way. Letting her make painful copies of herself." Tetsu reasoned before taking another hit from the rampaging Setsuna.

As much as he wanted to focus on his quirk and hand to hand skills, that wouldn't do any good in the situation he was in now. So, he goes back to Sahiraah's magic lessons and starts making a few spells in his hands. Using them to blast the extra heads and defend from the body parts. Along with his quirk in case he was snuck up on again.

Even as he's blasting, he can see he's getting nowhere fast. "What do I do? Sahiraah never taught me a spell that could knock a bunch of rampaging heads out at once! And I can't just turn back what happened!" he thought while trying to stop the replicating parts.

That were currently swirling into a small windstorm. Pulling a few downed trees and stones up and launching them around the area. Something of which included a small shrine of a kamuy. One that was launched at Tetsutetsu's head while he was trying to dodge.

"Oh great. Now what?" he asked while removing some of the pieces of the shrine from his head. Only to spot something that surprised him. Not that he could focus on that right away. He jumped over some stones and into a draw to check out the shrine.

On the inside of box, he saw what looked like images of a past. Some form of a play or….. "A spell? Huh…. Seems to be a….. time changing spell? No. Well maybe. But how do I…" Tetsutetsu starts before his eyes and images start to light up.

Within his mind he sees how the spell should be cast and the chant he needed to start to use it. He didn't fully understand but he could feel something in him telling him to use what he now knew. "Well I guess I don't have a lot of other options," he thought aloud as the words and movements flow through his mind and body.

After finishing the movements, a large circle appears beneath Setsuna and all of her parts. And on that circle is what appeared to be an image of seasons. Tetsutetsu felt exhausted from the casting, but maintained as much of his composure as he could. And Setsuna could feel her body change again. This time going back over the pain of her forced mutation. And slowly restored to normal.

Her body parts collapsed to the ground as does Tetsutetsu once the spell was done. Just before he passed out though he grunted out a name. "Apasam Kamuy," was what he said as his face went to the ground.

"Interesting. It seems these kids have more tricks than we expected." Revenant says before telling Null to retreat. 'Just a bit more. And I'll have some of what we need,' he thinks as he flies back towards the area where they were operating out of.

Itsuka eventually finds her classmates and has to work a bit to wake them both up. "Oh man. Whatever that stuff was, it does a number on you." Rin (who was mostly back to normal) says while grunting from the aches in his side and face. He still had a tail, but it was retracting for the most part.

"Yeah. And I get the feeling it's only the beginning. It'll probably get worse before it gets better," the 2-B rep says while pulling Tetsutetsu over her shoulder. She gestures for Rin to move Setsuna's part together. "And carry them if you have to. Here," she says before handing the scaled teen a collapsible net.

He groans while making his way down to where most of her parts were laying. Except for one. "Hey wait, where's her right hand?" Rin says upon noticing the missing appendage. Then feeling a different twinge from in his eyes. One that temporarily lets him see in infrared.

And follow some tracks to a pair of people using her hand for….. rather filthy reasons. "I'd wash her hand, but I think she should take care of some of that herself. I don't know how that lady got Tokage's hand so far up her…. Ngh!" Hiryuu thinks aloud after recovering Setsuna's stolen hand.

Said girl groans as her head is put into the net that Rin was carrying. "Ugh… why do I feel like I just ran a dozen marathons?" she said while trying to figure out where she was. Only to realize she was currently stuck in a net and unable to put herself back together.

"Hey! What is going on?!" she exclaims in confusion. "Oh you're awake. You uh… feeling okay?" Rin asked while making his way toward Itsuka's motorcycle. The lizard splitter girl blushed before saying she would be when she could put herself back together.

Once they were back though, Setsuna found it was hard to reassemble her body. "What's going on? It's like my quirk is numb or cramped or something!" she exclaimed while trying to make her parts float. Tetsu and the rest blushed before asking if she wanted help.

Setsuna looked like a tomato with extra long sepal leaves as she asked for help with putting her body back together. "Did not expect this when we came up here to investigate." Itsuka said in a flat tone as she moved parts of the green haired girl's leg together. Only to realize she had the wrong foot.

"Hey…. Why does my right hand feel weird? *sniff* and smell funny?" Setsuna asked once she was mostly back together. Rin blushed before whispering what he'd come upon in the woods. And that all but knocked Setsuna out again. "I may like it a bit dirty but not like that!" she cried out before asking for something to clean her hands.

Her embarrassment doesn't stop for a while, even while they were riding back to the office. And it got worse when they had all returned. "I don't get it…. Why isn't my quirk working properly?" she said while still trying to detach her hands or head.

Tetsutetsu gulps before questioning if it had something to do with the weird spell he used. "A weird spell? What kind?" Ibarra asked while healing some of Rin's injuries. Tetsu described what he found while trying to stop the rampaging Setsuna. "I didn't really know what it was but….. there was a name that came to mind when I used it. Apasam Kamuy."

A few of the others who had been awakened by the commotion of their returned mulled the name over before Jurota put in his own thoughts. "I'm from further south, but I did hear of a few legends and gods of this region. The kamuy you named is one of thresholds. In other words, a god of time. In a sense."

They were all surprised by that and Setsuna started shaking Tetsutetsu back and forth rapidly to ask him to fix her. "Not sure you want to be fixed Set. You do seem to like the idea of teasing and flaunting a bit after all." Yui joked after yawning and walking into the situation before them.

"Not HELPING! Bad enough some lady and a guy used my hand to play with themselves while I was out cold! Now I may lose my quirk!" Setsuna yells in her panic. Itsuka's eye twitches before saying, "and what's wrong with not having a quirk anymore?" Her eyes convey a dare to Tokage to finish her thoughts on the matter.

But the lizard girl wisely refuses to take the bait. "Okay so…. How or why did that work?" she asked instead. "Perhaps it is because Tetsutetsu-san possesses the potential to be a different kind of mage than me. A Hereditary one if Anwar-san's description is correct."

"What? No way. I mean…. How would that even work?" Tetsu asked while scratching his head. Ibarra nodded before noting that he was able to understand pictographs of a spell from a god of time. "Meaning you may be able to understand the magics of the gods. Rather than the spells we've been taught."

"Which could be helpful if what I think is going on really is. We all need to talk. But it can wait till the morning." Itsuka said before finishing a blood test with the sample she had taken from Rin. Noting an unsettling sign upon it finishing.

The next morning, the group had to put aside matters with helping the town. "Sorry. There's a situation that we're having to deal with right now. A few of ours were hurt last night." Itsuka said over the phone or to those who came in the office. She slid it aside and said they'd help when they could.

Once her classmates had awoken though, she had a few things to discuss with them. "The obvious factor is what happened to Hiryuu and Setsuna last night and has been happening to a few others. I did a blood test once we got back. You both were hit with a strain of Trigger."

The 2-B students were wide eyed and asked how bad it was. "I only have some basic test kits. But given what happened last night and to a few others before we went up there. I'd be willing to bet someone is testing this new strain on quirk users in secluded places." Itsuka explained.

She then asked Rin and Tokage to try and use their quirks again. The pair could but found it more difficult to use than usual. "It's not the same kind of cramp, but I still feel like the way I usually use it isn't working. Why?"

"It might have to do with how your abilities mutated for a time. I mean you had multiple heads flying around. And freaking Hiryuu had a tail!" Tetsutetsu noted while recalling what had happened with Setsuna. Rin agreed and noted that it did feel like his scales had changed. "But I don't think it's permanent. Though I have to question why they're doing this."

Itsuka nods and admitted they didn't have enough to really go on for the time being. "I think we need to check into those others who went on rampages. It might give us more of an idea of where to go with this. Tetsu. Maybe meet with a local who might still speak Ainu. I think that spell you learned will help us in the long run."

The class rep claps her hands before telling everyone to go about a few of the normal jobs the locals wanted help with. While also telling Rin and Setsuna to take it easy for the day. "Your quirks aren't working properly, and you're still flushing the Trigger out of your system. Take some time to get better."

While they wanted to disagree, they couldn't argue with the logic that they had been cut down to about childhood strength and skill for their quirks. "Childhood? Huh…. I wonder." Itsuka thought aloud before making her way to the police station again.

As the day went on, she started to get more suspicious. Though her classmates each were taking this threat with minimal worry. Assuming that they'd be able to handle any of the dealers with little problem.

"I mean even if we get hit by the stuff, we could just as easily take them out of the fight. No kidding. Could you imagine Pony with super strong horns she could launch? What about Reiko? A telekinetic storm? Yeah I don't know what good it would do them to hit us with gukc."

Kamakiri had been talking with Nirengeki and Awase as the were moving some lumber for a few farmers and locals. And he was struck in the neck by a vial of Trigger just like the other two the night before.

And he was not alone. Jurota while helping the aqua farmers, Komori on patrol, and Juzo searching for lost items were also infected with Trigger that makes their quirks and themselves rage.

Jurota transforms into his full beast state, but has enough sense left to warn them to run and directs himself away from the town and most crowded places. Komori feels sick and starts releasing large amounts of her spores. Infecting dozens of people with her mushrooms. And Juzo starts to soften the ground uncontrollably. Sinking into it while Ibarra tries to pull herself and some others out.

For Awase and Nirengeki though, they had a bigger set of problems. Namely that Kamakiri was sprouting multiple blades from his body at once. "Shit! That was way too close!" the shorter student shouted as he barely ducked in time to dodge the charging mantis.

Awase quickly pulled out a number of steel planks to restrain the bladed teen. But it didn't last long as a new set of blades appeared and cut through what was restraining Kamakiri. "I know he can cut through metal, but he wasn't even trying to!" Nirengeki says before trying some double impacts to knock his friend out.

Jurota was being pursued by Pony from the air with Bondo. "We need to get ahead of him to try and stop him!" Bondo shouts to the American girl. Tetsutetsu was found by Kosei and they made their way over to Kinoko. "I hope this antifungal and masks will be enough. And that what the old lady taught me will do the job."

"We need help! I don't know how many are infected, but it seems like they're targeting us!" Ibarra said while on a call to Itsuka. Who grunted before reminding the holy girl to keep Juzo away from solid nonliving surfaces. "I don't know if that will work Kendo! My vines have already been softened!"

Itsuka has a moment of panic hearing that, but her thoughts are interrupted by the screams of Awase and Nirengeki. Who ran past her with Kamakiri following behind. The red head groaned a bit before running after them. Thinking to herself, 'guess we'll actually see who's blades do more.' Resolving to use all of her ki skills to take Kamakiri down.

Most of the others tried to make their way to help their classmates, but they were interrupted by a new problem. "Sorry little ones, but you won't be going anywhere." Amp says while cracking her knuckles and staring down Sen and Yui.

Monoma and Manga meanwhile were face to face with an odd man wearing multiple colors. "Let's see how you handle my powers." Chroma says before touching the stripes of red. Turning said color and gaining a furious countenance. And then rushing forward so face he sent Manga through a wall. Leaving Monoma to face this foe himself.

For the edgy duo (Reiko and Shihai), they had a foe that would make most pros terrified. Floating above them with a suit of black, blood red, and white. Though said white was more of the fur on the large mobster jacket he was wearing over his shoulders.

He had his hands in his pockets while looking down at the students with a smirk. "A pair of goth teens. And I've heard you fancy yourself a ghost loving girl. Think you could handle a real Revenant?" said the villain while eyeing Reiko up. She shivers before picking up some objects to throw at the creep. While Shihai wished he could get closer to take advantage of their foe's fashion sense.

"Don't think it'll be easy to fight me brats. After all, I don't have a quirk and I'm something much stronger than you could hope to face." Revenant says before his eyes and hands glow red. Blasting downward at both of them.

So yes I'm kind of drugging up the students to show a different set of issues that they'll have to deal with. Including their overconfidence. And for once it's not thanks to Monoma. But also, this foe they're dealing isn't like a villain who will just let them get away easily. I'll get more into that later.

I wanted to do more of a mystery, but I still ended up doing more fight elements. Sorry. Though some of the mystery is for the students. As they have no idea who is behind this and what the motivation could be. Please review!
