Boomstick: Makoto is basically an average student who got transferred to a high school called Gekkoukan in a City named Iwatodai!
Wiz: Makoto is… kinda like Batman... he became an orphan with his Parents dying just when he was a Kid on a Moonlight Bridge because of a Car accident.
Boomstick: And this was a decade before the events of the game! Makoto often has his hands in his pockets, is very stoic, reserved, calm and depressed because of this!
Wiz: And Makoto is very Brave! Like dude he remains fearless and not moving when someone aims a Gun at him, not even Rango from that Movie would frighten him!
Boomstick: Well he also shoots himself in the Head all the time to summon his Persona so, I understand he lacks fear!
Wiz: Minato is very introverted, distant and aloof only watching the conversations of his party members only speaking when anyone watches him sharing his opinion.
Boomstick: Makoto ended up joining a Group called Specialized Extracurricular Execution Squad (S.E.E.S), an organization that works for activities like fighting Shadows, evil beings who appear during the Midnight in a strange thing called the Dark Hour!
Wiz: It is a period of 60 minutes and the Shadows pretty much kill the People and turn them into sarcophagus and other people don't have that luck and are wandering across the Dark Hour without understanding what happens.
Boomstick: But The Shadows attack the people and kill them!
Wiz: However, the SEES team has Personas to defend themselves, fight against the Shadows and defeat them!
Boomstick: The game took Death and Human Will to survive as a theme, several characters inside the plot are strongly bonded with Death since they lack motivation to life, like Makoto who doesn't care about being alive or death thanks to his parents' accident!
Wiz: Even people who talk about him, think about Death and the world as we know it would end, there are a lot of characters in this game who literally wish death!
Boomstick: Hell, even your partners like Yukai lost some familiarity, Yukai lost his father during an Experiment, and Akihiko lost her sister while she was young! This game definitely touches the theme of Death VERY strongly!
Wiz: And the Game's final Boss is literally Death itself, with Death finishing to put ending to the human race so Makoto and the SEES team ended needing to stop him, and this guy literally can end inside the Velvet Room, which is a Dimension which exists beyond Space-Time, between mind and matter and Igor gave him the Power of the Universe to stop him!
Boomstick: And after a fight which lasts ONE DAMN hour long! Makoto ends up defeating and sealing Death itself but sadly he ended dying at the end...
Wiz: And that's sad cause after relating more and approaching more to them doing strong bonds with them, he ended learning to value his friends, depend on people and even help them against the Shadows and such...
Boomstick: But Makoto also appears in other Persona spinoff, like he does a Cameo in Persona 5 and appears in Persona Q2 and Persona 4 Golden Arena!
Wiz: And in Persona 3 The Answer after he died he kinda appears being brought back, so we can still have him even if he ended dying in the Persona story, plus Atlus doing the Persona 3 Reload new Game!
Boomstick: Well Makoto has the Powers to summon Personas, Personas are basically manifestations of the soul of the user! And how he got his Persona? Well in a risky moment he and his friends were against Shadows, his Persona somehow talked to him telling him to shot himself in the head if he wanted to summon him and Makoto indeed did that with a Gun but he stills being alive and summoned his Persona!
Wiz: Makoto has several Personas such as Orpheus, Thanatos and Messiah!
Boomstick: Not to mention he has... A Gun, well if he wanted to use it to shot someone we know how it would be!
Wiz: His Starting Persona is Orpheus, and the Fool Arcana is like Persona's Wild Card, letting Makoto summon the amount of Personas he wants!
Boomstick: Also damn, I wonder how much times Makoto canonically shot his own Head?!
Wiz: Probably countless times if we include the game considering the player can command him to summon his Personas as much as they decide it!
Boomstick: Makes sense...
Wiz: Makoto also has one blade outside his Gun to attack, and he has a Blade called Lucifer's Blade a literal unholy Weapon done by Lucifer, he fused the Lord of Chaos into a Sword! And with Orpheus, Makoto can use fire attacks, whack People on the head with a Harp, but Orpheus ain't immune to electric or dark attacks.
Boomstick: Also he has Jack Frost, you know the Mascot of Shin Megami Tensei! With this Makoto can shot Ice Attacks, and throw Sonic punches!
Wiz: Although if you shot flames to the ice attacks it should be easy to counter... Anyways, Next is Thanatos, the Literal God of Death yes we ain't talking about Hades, we talk about Thanatos!
Boomstick: Thanatos has a brutal fighting style, one blade and has magic powers!
Wiz: Yeah, Minato has so much power that he can summon Personas are literal Gods like Thanatos!
Boomstick: If you don't think that's crazy Thanatos resists physical attacks, reflects darkness makes Minato stronger and is a literal GOD!
Wiz: But Makoto also can summon fuckin' Satan! With Lucifer, Makoto has that Sword, is a devastating force of Judgement, has Magic powers, is repellent towards Light and can restore Makoto!
Boomstick: Helel, can absorb damage of sword slashes and restore Makoto's health, but Helel and Satan are weak to ice and wind...
Wiz: Odin, can use Lightning attacks, and use Thunder Reign a powerful thunder attack can shock you!
Boomstick: Vishnu, a Persona which uses ice, thunder and physical attacks and lacks weaknesses!
Wiz: And Ananta is another Persona which if you combine with Vishnu makes Makoto invincible for a time!
Boomstick: Damn, Wiz?! How many Personas does he have?!
Wiz: Oh calm down, his Ultimate Persona is Messiah, Messiah can bring Makoto back to life, passively increases his strength and his magic attacks too, can use Light Attacks and is the fusion of Orpheus Thanatos!
Boomstick: Well, now let's talk about Makoto's feats...
Wiz: Makoto has defeated a lot of Shadows, has defeated literal Gods such as Chronos, the God of time, got The Power of the Universe's Arcana grantted by Igor and literally defeated the embodiment of humanity's desire for Death even sealing her known as Nyx!
Boomstick: Nyx is powerful as hell, like her survived falling against the moon, threatened all the human life to end extinguished, and she threatened to destroy Planets and Makoto stopped her!
Wiz: And in Persona 5, he makes a cameo and fights the Persona 5 protagonist Joker, showing to give him a fight surviving his attacks even tho he ultimately lost, and in Persona Q2 and Persona 4 Golden Arena he scales The Phantom Thieves and Yu Narukami, Yu defeated Izanami a literal Godess who merged the Universe with the TV World and The Phantom Thieves are powerful too!
Boomstick: The Phantom Thieves defeated Godlike threats such as Yaldabaoth and Maruki, Yaldabaoth is a literal God of Control who has merged the Metaverse with the Human world, the Metaverse is everyone's palace and there exists millions of Palaces in everyone's cognition with them having Universal Size such as Okumura's Palace having planets, stars even galaxies based on the Big Bang and Maruki is stronger than Yaldy and rewrote all of story to erase all of suffering! This means Makoto can be Multiverse Level! And Joker has Lucifer Morningstar, the attack reaching Earth from a Random Star in a Matter of Seconds. Joker has a Arcana Tower Giant Hindu Monster Persona who can swallow the ENTIRE Universe! Plus making Joker even QUINTILLIONS FASTER THAN LIGHT! So Makoto is Billions to even Quintillions into MFTL!
Wiz: But Makoto's got weaknesses, he is still very sad, tragic, lonely, distant, introverted, stoic and aloof but he overcome some of his weaknesses with help of his friends, but he still has the weaknesses of his Personas but we still wouldn't mess with the Host of Death!
