Disclaimer: I do not own Pokémon . I only own the original story and characters in it (Not a lot of OC; as the series gave us so many memorable characters, I wanted to explore more those that in my opinion didn't get to show their full potential).

Here is the next part of the prologue, I wanted to start showing a little bit more of the other sisters before going to the timeskip :)

Prologue pt4. – The Protector tune & The Love song

Daisy and Misty were on the road for 2 hours until they finally made it back to Cerulean, the ride back was relatively quiet, Daisy would mention about all the shops she visited, but Misty kept reflecting on everything that had happened, suddenly she had to face the fact that now she seems to have psychic abilities… except that she cant really control them, and as it seems she developed them quite late. She also needs to start learning how to read, write and play music, something she's never done before… and let's not forget she was still having to do it all on a broken heart.

It was during that 2 hours ride that she decided to devote her time and efforts moving forward to catch up in everything she felt she was behind; not only the control of her psychic abilities and the whole "music thing", but also as a Pokémon trainer and gym leader.

The gym certainly picked up a few positions in the ranking after Misty came back (When her sisters were in charge it was dangerously low), but she still wasn't near where she would like to be. She also realised that if she were to become a water- Pokémon master, she needed to capture and train more Pokémon, maybe even find a way to combine her love for water Pokémon to her new Psychic abilities.

During her travels she had somehow fallen into a comfort zone of seeing Ash take the lead and being the one taking on new challenges, but now that she was on her own, she knew she had to step up, and with the hope for her crush on Ash being completely shattered, she needed to focus on more practical goals, she just had to make the best out of "the hand she was dealt", as her sister Lily would always say (She was surprisingly good at any cards game).

When they arrived to Cerulean, Daisy checked her phone after parking her car, and was immediately thrilled.

- "Amazing, Tracey is here too!" – Daisy exclaimed in an excited tone.

- "Great, someone else to witness that I now look like a freak" – Misty replied in a mix between sarcasm and self-doubt, part of her was still very uncomfortable with her new appearance, but the other one had actually liked some of the changes after the whole spa & salon experience.

- "Don't be absurd, you look fabulous… Oh those 2 will be so jealous, I'm looking forward to see that!" – Daisy said still in her slight devilish tone.

Daisy rushed to the door and entered triumphantly

- "We are back! I swear that mall keeps getting better, I could have spent there a week" – Daisy happily announced.

Tracey just got a drop of sweat running through his forehead at the whole "Spend a week at the mall" comment, but he was more than happy to see Daisy again, truth is, the boy kept re-arranging his agenda to spend as much time in Cerulean as he could since he had first asked Daisy out.

- "Hi sis!, Cinnabar was great, we got so many pictures for our insta" – Violet answered as if slightly offended for not being asked how her trip went.

- "Wasn't our "ugly-Ducklett" supposed to be with you? Where is she anyway?" – Lily asked.

- "Oh that girl, I can't believe she's trying to take this away from me.! Misty come on everyone is here" – Daisy said impatient.

At that moment Misty was trying to make it through the entrance, but she was carrying so many of the bags and boxes from Daisy's shopping trip, that nobody could tell it was her (nor could she see where she was going)

- "Oh I'm sure you are desperate to see what else I got for you, but drop all of that, I want everyone to see you" – Daisy said in excitement (Misty really wasn't that keen on the boxes' content, it was just a good way to hide), but Daisy just took the boxes and bags and set them in the floor, grabbing Misty's hand and pushing her to enter the house, now in full vision for everyone.

- "WHEN DID YOU GET THOSE?" – Both Lily and Violet yelled in shock and jealousy pointing at Misty, it was the exact same phrase Daisy said to her days before.

- "Ha! I told you they'd be jealous" – Daisy triumphantly whispered to Misty.

- "SHUT UP YOU TWO!" – Misty just shouted to her other 2 sisters with more than evident blush in her face.

- "No, like, seriously, was the whole party and mall trip a cover for you to get like a cosmetic surgery?" – Lily asked trying to make sense of what she was just seeing now.

- "Of course not!" – Daisy was the one jumping in Misty's defence, and added, "You of all people should know that. You were in recovery for a full month covered in bandages after your little… nose job" – The blonde said pointing at her own nose defiantly to her pink-haired sister

- "Oh shut up, it was a minor procedure!" – Lily replied offended.

- "And it looks fab, but point is, you know how long recovering for those things take. Baby sis was just hiding on those hideous hoodies for too long" Daisy confidently replied.

By this point Misty felt like she couldn't feel her face anymore from the blushing and embarrassment, although it was nice to see Daisy sticking up for her.

- "Doesn't she look amazing? Am I like, the best personal stylist or what?" – Daisy asked thrilled to the room.

- "You look stunning Misty" – It was Tracey this time that replied truly amazed to see his "little sister" look that differently, and then he asked "How did things go at the Saffron gym though? Did you find out the reason of what happened the other day?"

Before Misty had a change to reply, Daisy cut her off.

- " Oh yes that, she like has Psychic powers now" Daisy said nonchalant brushing off as if that small detail wasn't as relevant as Daisy's main focus, and added "But look how sensational she looks, we could like, totally have a 4 sister show now".

- "NO FREAKING WAY!" – Misty shouted, she was definitely not up for being part of her sister's act. As she said this Psyduck came out of his pokeball happily chanting "No freaking way!" as well repeatedly, until he turned to see Misty and blushed seeing the new look of his Master

Psyduck rushed happily to hug his mater, while telling her that she looked very pretty and Misty picked him up.

- "Thank you Psyduck, who would've thought you're such the gentleman" – Misty said while hugging her loyal Pokémon.

- "I do like the clothes though, much better than those horrible hoodies" – Violet said, it was kind of the nearest to a compliment she'd ever given Misty.

- "Yes, we'll not see those around anymore… I'll make sure of that" – The blond sister proudly replied.

- "Hey you promised you wouldn't burn them" – Misty protested

- "All… I promised I wouldn't burn them all, I will leave you one or two that you're only allowed to use to sleep" – Daisy giggled and added "I went to the salon too, How come nobody is talking about how gorgeous I look?"

Misty would probably just think that Daisy was doing her "usual" thing of making everything about herself, but it actually was Daisy knowing that Misty was not comfortable with so much attention trying to give her a little break, which in fact, worked, as the other sisters just went to compliment how shiny and soft Daisy's hair looked, while Tracey was quiet and slightly blushing and as Daisy noticed this, she started blushing as well, she wasn't really trying to flirt with him in front of all her sisters. This last scene though, did not escape Misty's eye.

- "Daisy's been driving for hours, and we didn't eat much at the spa. Violet, Lily, Why don't you come to the kitchen with me and help me get some snacks for everyone?" – Misty pleaded to her other 2 sisters, they often ignored her, but she wanted to try at least for the sake of giving Daisy a chance to catch up with Tracey alone.

- "You don't need three people to put some snacks together" – Violet started to say brushing Misty off, but as she did this, Lily hit her in the head – "Hey what was that for?" – The blue-haired girl now said annoyed at her sister.

Lily only gave Vi an eye roll on Tracey's direction and then another roll back to Daisy.

- "Oh yeah right, we did the grocery shopping last, we know where everything is stored" – Vi said trying to make a semi believable excuse while her and Lily joined Misty who was still holding Psyduck, and all went to the kitchen.

(Now with the 3 sisters at the kitchen)

- "Arceus Vi, you're the worst at social cues, even Ducklett was trying to help Dais".

- "Stop calling me that!, although what do you mean even me trying to help her?" – Misty said trying to fake ignorance, after all, Daisy said she was hiding her relationship from Vi and Lil.

- "Oh don't even try, Dais is like terrible at hiding things, we know there's something going on there for ages" – Lily said in her usual "know it all" tone

- "Well yes, we noticed she was like, happier when he was around fixing stuff, and then turned like really sad and boring when he hadn't been around… I even broke the sink once so he'd have to come" – Vi giggled explaining to Misty.

- "Wait, you broke it once? I broke it once too" – Lily said to her older sister in surprise.

- "Now that explains the additional 2 times that sink broke " – Misty said with a drop of sweat in her forehead.

- "He's probably like, not very good at repairs though, it kept breaking, amongst a bunch of other stuff in the house and the gym" – Vi said still giggling.

- "Things kept breaking because Daisy and I were tampering with them!… a lot as I realise now, so he actually must be very skilled given that everything still works" – Misty said and could not contain the laugh as Psyduck joined as well.

- "No way! You ? The "I don't care or like anything about my sisters at all" girl, did something to help one of us?" – Lily said in genuine surprise.

- "Hey, I'd be nicer if you all just stopped calling me names and torturing me all the time! Besides, she's the one that has helped me the most in the gym, and I wanted to help him too" – The redhead said defending herself while Psyduck also looked at Lily defiantly.

- " Well I'm surprised Ducklett, I thought you'd like, hate the idea of her dating your dear friend" – Lil replied.

- "I don't, I'm actually very happy for them, and stop with the Ducklett already!" – the redhead kept arguing with Lily.

- "It's a pet name" – Lil replied while sticking her tongue out to her only younger sister. Truth is, Lily enjoyed having at least one sister younger than her, as she always felt she was patronised by the older 2.

- "Maybe you should change the name for Swanna, she does look better now" – Vi told Lily in an unusual attempt to defuse the situation.

Normally Vi would join Lily's side, but this was the first time Misty saw her acting slightly more mature, and complimenting her… in Violet's way at least, after all, Swanna is considered a majestic and beautiful bird Misty thought.

- "I guess it had to happen at some point… I was like, starting to believe she was adopted" – Lily replied rolling her eyes, but even though was still a typical passive-aggressive reply from her, it was also kind of the nicest thing she'd ever said about Misty… sort of.

- "Anyways, it's kind of nice we all helped our big sis, she like, deserves a break" – Vi happily exclaimed.

- "Yeah, I guess I'm happy to see you both approve of him too. We should probably get something for everyone to eat though, they will wonder why we're taking so long" – Misty naively said.

- "My little Swanna, you like, still haven't fully evolved if you think those 2 are thinking about us at all right now" – Lily confidently and sarcastically said which caused both Misty and Psyduck to slightly blush.

- "Ha! At least I know I still have ways to tease you" – Lily said with satisfaction annoying Misty once again.

- "Lets just make some sandwiches, I saw some recipes on insta from a trendy Chef that I follow and I wouldn't mind trying, I think we have the ingredients" – Violet said while taking her phone to look for the account, recently she was getting very into cooking, which none of the sisters had minded, as she was getting quite good at it.

After the girls got the sandwiches ready (And gave Psyduck some of the fillings and bread for him to eat), they were all set to make it back to the living room.

- "Wait!, might like, be better not to suddenly walk in" – Lily said while holding the tray which had Misty in slight confusion.

- "What?" – The redhead asked.

- "Naive little Swanna" And as Lily said this shaking her head while she approached the door that leads to the living room and shouted towards it for the other side to hear "DUCKLETT TAKE THE FOOD TO THE LIVING ROOM!".

Misty, now realising what her sister was going for, just went in and continued the little charade, shouting towards the door as well.

- "WHY DO I HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING MYSELF?, AND STOP WITH THE DUCKLETT!". – The redhead pretended to argue with her sister while shouting at the door.

- "BECAUSE VI AND I JUST DID OUR NAILS AND WE WON'T BE BREAKING THEM!" – Lily kept the farce while Vi just quietly laughed with Psyduck entertained at the whole thing.

- "YOU'RE THE WORST!" – Misty shouted while getting the tray of sandwiches from Lily. Vi was by now the one holding Psyduck.

- "JUST GO!" – Lily shouted and then said quietly to the 2 girls "Should like, be OK now".

Misty could not remember a time where she had even remotely been pat of any of her sister's little schemes, but somehow it felt nice to be for once on the "inside circle".

When the girls made it to the living room, both Daisy and Tracey were quietly sitting on the couch while Daisy was looking slightly relieved, as if she thought she just got "saved by the Weepinbell" from being caught in her secret.

- "She like, really sucks at hiding stuff from us. Doesn't she?" – Vi quietly whispered to Misty and Lil as they were making their way into their living room.

- "She's never had a good Poker face, too transparent" – Lil admitted whispering as well.

Everyone ate the sandwiches together, and after a while, Lil & Vi excused themselves as they had to go do some updates to their social media accounts for their followers.

Once it was down to just Misty, Tracey and Daisy (well, and Psyduck), Tracey finally got to ask the questions he was most concerned about.

- " So, What's the deal with the psychic powers?" – Tracey asked, Daisy had brushed it off so abruptly to focus on the makeover, that there was really a lot unanswered in that area.

Misty went on to explain as best as she could the extent of her new abilities, but there was still so much she didn't understand herself, that it ended up in a very frustrated statement.

- "So as it turns out, I can't quite read minds, I can't quite tell the future, I suck at moving things with my mind, I somehow need to learn music, I can't teleport, but at least I understand Psyduck and Starmie now" – Misty complained.

- "It still sounds amazing though, nobody starts knowing all" – Tracey tried to encourage her.

- "I guess I'll still try to make the best out of the hand I was dealt with" – Misty said in resignation.

- "You sound like Lil" – Daisy said giggling to which Misty just gave her a "death stare"

- "Speaking of make the best out of my situation, Tracey I needed to ask you something. You know how you're basically an encyclopaedia and know so much about Pokémon moves and abilities?" – The redhead went on to address Tracey

- "I wouldn't put it like that though" – The boy replied with a hint of embarrassment.

- "Can you help me become like that? If I can't travel to learn on experience because of my gym duties, at least I want to get my skills up to take the gym to the top 5 of the region. I somehow feel like knowing more on moves and abilities can get me there.

- "No problem at all, I'll get you a few of my books next time I visit, and we've been working in the lab with this new pokedex, has so much info on moves and abilities, I'll ask the professor to give you one, it can be helpful" – The boy offered, he'll always go the extra mile to help Misty.

- "You're the best!" – And as Misty said this she hugged him which made her hear a tune that reminded her of those in adventure videogames when the hero was in a quest, which made Misty chuckle, she'd always seen Tracey as her big brother and protector, and perhaps the fact the music coming out of him was having those exact vibes meant it was truly mutual.

- "You truly are hon!" And as Daisy said this she hugged him too, which caused an immediate change in the tune Misty was hearing, now the song she heard from Tracey sounded more like a love song.

She still couldn't make much sense of her new ability, but just maybe it was not as bad as she thought. She truly was happy to see that things between her sister and Tracey were going so well, and it was almost as she was having her own window to understand what was happening to those around her.

A few days passed and Misty was trying to adapt to her "new normal", she was really trying to be as productive as was humanly possible, because she found that at any time she was not busy and productive she'd start thinking on her heartbreak, hear an incredibly sad song which had become the strongest out of the ones that she heard on that first day, and she could not stop crying, so staying inhumanly busy was a better alternative.

In a normal day she'd do a couple laps swimming in the pool, practice the focus exercises Sabrina had taught her, read the books and websites Tracey recommended, started few tutorials on reading music and since the sensational sisters had a piano available in the stage as part of their show when they'd get a musician to play for their plays, she decided that would be her first instrument of choice and was doing all sorts of online tutorials to learn how to play it.

Daisy found a local piano instructor that would come twice a week on the evenings to help Misty, she'd go once a week to Saffron to train with Sabrina. And the rest of Misty's days would go on taking challengers at the gym, which since her return from Saffron, just seemed to have exponentially increased. It felt like there was never a moment during the gym's opening hours where at least 3 challengers weren't waiting. They were mostly average, and few of them not good at all, but at least gave her a wide range of Pokémon to see their attacks and test the new Pokedex Prof. Oak sent her.

Her ability to see possible futures was "activating" in the weirdest moments, often in battle before the opponent made an attack she could see a whole set of possible moves that trainer could take, often the better trainers were choosing the one Misty thought would be more effective, but there were always the inexperienced trainers making what looked like the worst of all scenarios, so it was really difficult for Misty to plan her next move based on so many options. It was still somehow interesting to see all of those alternatives though; However when the ability activated before Misty choosing her own next move, then she thought things got way more exciting, she was seeing strategies and tactics very "out of the box" that she wouldn't have automatically thought of, but when tempted to try them and make them their next move, loads of them would turn out actually really well in battle, so overall she was crushing most of her opponents. One of her favourites turned out to be when she ordered Dewgong to use Ice beam directed to the reflective mirror in the gym's ceiling rather than towards the Goodra attacking, and as it turned out, the Goodra had planned on a swift attack and changed directions, but it did it to the side where the mirror ended deflecting the Ice beam becoming a critical hit which gave Misty the win.

It was just 1 day until her next visit to Saffron as per training schedule agreed with Sabrina. This would mark her 4th visit overall, making it nearly a month since she found out of her new abilities.

So far, the telekinesis had been the toughest on her; she'd concentrate and try so hard, yet things were barely trembling… if she was lucky, she was nowhere near properly moving anything.

She could not control when she'd get the multiple outcome visions, but at least once they came it was straightforward what they all meant, and as for the music… well, she'll randomly be able to hear the music coming from those in touch with her (usually her sisters, her Pokémon or Tracey), but it was hardest when it was her own music the one trying to come out.

Whenever she was not busy and she had even the slightest moment to think of her situation, a few tunes will come, often the one that made her felt jealousy, other times one that had more to do with the frustration towards Serena, couple other different ones depending on the situation, but the most common one was an incredible sad one. One that kept reminding her how incredibly lonely she felt that day, when she stood there seeing her hopes being demolished while she could not get a word out, and when life basically was screaming at her that Ash was never hers in the first place, so it's not like she could even say she lost him either, all which was too devastating to her and she'd end up crying.

That's why she was trying to stay busy, but whenever she trained with Sabrina, Sabrina would make her focus on an emotion to listen and try to write the notes from the music coming out of it, and unfortunately for Misty, that sad one was the loudest those days. She knew that on the following day when training with Sabrina she'd probably have to "face the music", which in her case, was quite a literal statement.

As Misty went to the kitchen to check with Daisy whether Daisy was joining the trip to Saffron (Daisy loves driving, and was always thrilled for a mall visit), she found her and Lily in the kitchen.

- "Dais you coming tomorrow to Saffron?" – The redhead asked.

- "Oh I forgot it was tomorrow, I like, have this thing with…" And as she was about to say Tracey, she remembered Lily was also there, who to Daisy's knowledge, didn't know anything about her "secret boyfriend"

- "You can like, say you have a date with your boyfriend, we all know about it" – Lily said stating the obvious while rolling her eyes.

- "What? Me? When?... no, I mean, Tracey is not my" – The blonde just rambled.

- "I didn't even name him, see how you out yourself? You've like, never been good at keeping things" – The pink-haired sister replied.

- "I didn't tell them, I swear they figured it out on their own" – Misty quickly went to explain.

- "THEM?, so Vi knows too?" - Daisy said in a tone that mixed both alarm and disappointment, as she really thought she'd manage to keep the secret.

- "Turns out they were the ones who broke the sink those other two times" – Misty said with a small giggle.

- "I don't know why you like, wanted to hide it from us on the first place, we both think he's hot" – Lily said honestly

- "So you're not angry?" – The blonde asked.

- "Well, Vi is like, angry but not at you… At little Swanna here for not having another hot older friend to introduce to her" – Lily simply replied.

- "That is not fair!" – The redhead protested.

- "You know how she is, she'll get over it" – said the second youngest sister.

- "Anyways, back to Saffron, no problem I'll just go on my own by train tomorrow" – Misty proposed.

- "Oh no! You must not go alone, Lil you go with her" – The blonde ordered.

- "Why me? I don't drive" – Lily protested

- "You can both go by train" – Daisy replied.

- "I don't need a babysitter, I travelled across regions when I was 10, I can manage a trip to Saffron" – the redhead said offended.

- "Yeah but that was before, now you like, got all this attention, even at the gym everyday, as your guardian I cant have you travelling alone" – Daisy explained uneasy.

- "What attention?, Those are challengers!" – The redhead said as if her sister words made no sense

- "Yeah right, who like, just randomly happen to be majority teenage boys…. And like, a couple of flirty girls towards you as well" - Lily said in the most evident sarcastic way the first part, and candidly on the last.

The truth is, Misty just noticed an increase in challengers, but she honestly thought it must be increased interest on the league, and since so many came, and she was trying to learn about moves and abilities at the same time, she'd just focus on getting the battle finished as quick as possible so she could fight the next challenger.

- "We all know Pokémon trainers are mostly boys, a lot of the girls go for contests instead" – Misty tried to defend herself.

- "Naive, naive little Swanna… I know is new for you since you like, were an Ugly Ducklett all your life, but a lot of those coming to the gym everyday are not like, really after a Pokémon battle. At least when they see us they end up buying tickets to our show, so we've been sold out" - Lily stated in a condescending way.

- "That's not true!" Misty protested blushing.

- "Oh darling, it kind of is… I mean, I wouldn't have put it that way, but she's not like… fully wrong" – Daisy explained while shooting a death glare at Lily.

- "You are both crazy, and anyways, I can defend myself, Starmie and Psyduck will be with me… and again, I was travelling alone AT 10 YEARS OLD! I'm 15 now". Misty's protest continued.

- "Nope, you are not going on your own, Lily is going. End of discussion – Daisy put her foot down.

- "I guess I can go to the mall while she trains, I do need to get some supplies for the costumes in our show" – Lily said just accepting defeat.

- "This is ridiculous" – Misty said, but she knew she was not going to get away from having to go with Lily the next day to Saffron.

So now, Misty was not just worried about the music she'd have to face the next day, she'll have to travel with the one sister she argued the most with, and precisely because of that one sister, she also became self-conscious of all the challengers coming to the gym. She had just started to get comfortable with the clothes Daisy had bought… well a few of them at least, she still hadn't put on most of the dresses, but she had enjoyed trying some of the other pieces, and now somehow she was nervous about it all over again.

Daisy in no way had psychic abilities, but when she saw her sister's face after that discussion, she immediately knew what was going on in her little sister's head.

- "You will not go back to wear those hideous hoodies though. Remember you're only allowed to use the 2 I left you to sleep, I just don't want any creep to approach you while you're alone" – Daisy said in somehow a very motherly tone to her little sister.

Misty was quite impressed on how accurate Daisy was on knowing exactly what she was thinking, so perhaps as a gesture of gratitude to her sister caring for her, she decided to give up and let Daisy have this one.

- "I still think you're crazy and paranoid, but OK" – The redhead simply said and went to prepare the things she needed to get to Saffron on the next day, including a few books, her pokedex and the pokeballs for Starmie and Psyduck".

She somehow had the feeling that the upcoming visit to Saffron was going to be an eventful one.

Ok, here goes another part, I quite like writing that little plot between the sisters to help Daisy out, I really think they would have all gotten in helping her get together with Tracey.

Would love to hear comments, or even suggestions, I might take a bit long to publish the next part of the prologue, but I'll try my best to get it within 2-3 weeks.
