As the chopper hovered to the ground, White Fox and Ghost Spider leaped off and started their hunt. Ghost Spider took one look at the chopper as it returned to the base.
"Your agency trusts you to have me with you?"
White Fox seemed to ignore that as she looked around. Ghost Spider walked closer to find the fox facing her head up and…sniffing.
"What are you doing?"
"Picking up a scent".
Ghost Spider nodded, "Like a true werewolf".
"I am a Kumiho".
The spider tilted her head, "…a what?"
"Beautiful people who can shapeshift into nine-tailed foxes", White Fox explained.
"Beautiful?" Ghost Spider scoffed, "Sure if that's how you see yourself when you growl like an animal".
The fox drew in a deep breath and motioned the spider to follow. There was a loud crashing sound at the mall. It was a break-in.
"We need to see what's going on", White Fox stated.
"Innocent people could get hurt, leave this to me", Ghost Spider held out her wrist and shot out something silky. She moved to the mall like Tarzan and as she landed, she crawled on the building and went inside the vents. White Fox was amazed but decided to try her way as well.
As Ghost-Spider crawled through the air vents, she saw a few men speaking in what she guessed was Korean. She started wondering if she should ask the agency to teach her the language. One man stayed behind as the others left. The spider opened the vent bars and pulled the man up with her web. She left him hanging and tied up before she moved along.
Meanwhile, White Fox successfully knocked out a few criminals before taking one of their clothes and putting them on. She wished she could've stopped the masked spider woman and discussed a plan. The worst-case scenario is that she might've faked the savior streak to escape. She wasn't with the N.I.S. willingly and her containment wasn't exactly comfortable, so it was possible she'd try to escape.
Walking in with the rest of the robbers, she smelt something off. "No way…", she gasped as she looked at the boss of the criminals.
It was none other than the former Hydra agent turned crime lord Blood Shred. An enemy of the N.I.S. with a giant axe able to slice the toughest metal with ease. And ancient armor from old English times.
Why he of all rank villains was robbing a mall, White Fox couldn't understand. Blood Shed used his axe to slice a booth. "Not in here, where is the DNA?" he asked a goon.
Said goon stammered, "I've checked everywhere boss but the Vampire bat DNA could be anywhere".
Blood Shed nodded and hummed before using his axe to kill said goon. "Find it! And the next one to say they can't find the DNA sample will have to look forward to death!"
The goons who weren't herding hostages went on a search for the DNA, including White Fox who was still disguised.
One goon said, "I thought for sure it would be in the pharmacy. I can't believe Busik was wrong."
"Well, I don't want to return to the boss with excuses. Find it!"
White Fox couldn't believe these men were morons, so she sneaked out and headed to the lower floors beyond the staff rooms. Of course, she could find a freezer in the backroom of the pharmacy. As she looked for it Ghost Spider had her way of being covert.
She webbed up one at a time and left them hanging on the steel supporters. Crouched while moving like a feline predator. She couldn't understand what most of the men were saying which annoyed her. That didn't mean she needed a translator to know they were criminals.
Once she tied the last goon, she went back into the vents. She struggled to hold back her shivered reaction as the air conditioner was too cold in the evening.
"Why come into this mall if it makes people feel like they're still outside in the night air?" She whispered to herself. She should go back to the hostages, take out the goons and the guy from medieval times. She was sure she could take him.
As she went to the hostages, she saw the armored man leaving for the pharmacy. She shot a sticky ball at the sign and the goons went to investigate.
That trick always worked as she cocooned all the goons. She descended on a web string and went to untie the hostages. The innocent people made a run for it to the exit and Ghost Spider also wanted to leave but then White Fox appeared through a wall as if a strong force punched her against it. Knight guy walked out of the new hole in the wall and growled at the Kumiho. The spider sighed and shifted invisibly.
White Fox found the DNA and was about to destroy it when she noticed a larger shadow next to hers. She quickly slid aside before the axe cut her in half. Blood Shred made a second attempt to slice her but she dodged again.
"Why are you after the DNA?" White Fox glared.
"Why not?"
"You are working for those vampires? How could that benefit you?"
Blood Shred snickered, "Still an ignorant fox pup I see. Power my dear. I don't work for those human ticks. I want to control them".
"Not on my watch", White Fox attempted to kick him on the nose but he caught her leg and threw her against a weak wall. White Fox groaned and regretted staying in one spot as Blood Shred punched her so hard that the wall broke and she was sent flying backward. She sat up and thought the incoming axe blade would be the end of her. Fortunately, the knight seemed to have come to a halt in the middle of swinging his axe. He was confused and tried moving the weapon forward but White Fox noticed some sticky silky strings on the blade. The sticky silk was keeping the axe from cutting her, to her advantage, she semi-cartwheeled and used both feet to kick him right in the gut with much force.
White Fox ran back to the pharmacy lab and took the DNA. Ghost Spider hopped off, "You're welcome for saving your life".
The spider noticed someone who was watching from a distance and revealed some fangs before running off. Ghost Spider ran after the individual, hoping it was who she thought it was. The being was heading to the back door, the spider recognized the individual as the female vampire from Earth 89.
On that dimension, she was battling Hadine to prevent any more multiversal migration. The vampire had speed and strength but Ghost Spider managed to dodge incoming bite attempts.
It was then that Hadine revealed something that made Gwen angry but she chose not to get lost in that memory during the present.
She managed to pull the bloodsucker with her web string with force, resulting in her backside hitting the nearby lamp post in the parking lot. "You've become slower 'Draculaura', guess that happens when you're lying in your coffin most of the day".
Hadine stood up and licked her lips. "A spider is handed to me in a convenient area". She lunged straight at Ghost Spider who barely dodged a punch before kicking her gut with her knee. She flipped her over and was about to web her when her spider senses rang in her head. She couldn't dodge the incoming crowbar to the back of her head. As she groaned, she heard a male voice speaking in Korean and the woman stood up and walked to her.
"Silly girl, did you assume I came to this country without thinking I would find slaves first?" She made a sly grin and kicked the spider. A car came into the parking area and Hadine and the unknown man went inside. "You did well, Yongsan. You will get a big juicy steak—"
"Don't talk to me like some pet—ack!" Yongsan was being choked and the car prepared to drive off. As it began moving away, Hadine heard the sound of something on the roof.
"Check the roof, now!"
One of the men poked their head out the window only for Ghost Spider to web him out of the car and into a pile of trash. "One down!" Her spider senses warned her of bullets being shot through the roof, and the driver who was moving the car side to side to shake her off was worse. Fortunately, Ghost Spider was already used to this kind of situation. So she crawled to the front windshield and punched it open. The driver pulled out a firearm but she immediately crushed it with her hand before tossing the driver out of the car, landing onto a fountain. Ghost Spider placed her feet on the concrete ground and tried stopping the car from running over two civilians who were crossing the road. When she managed to stop it in time, Hadine and the Yongsan made a run for it.
Ghost Spider was about to run after them when her spider senses were ringing. White Fox missed her in that incoming kick but managed to grab her by the wrists. "Don't you dare try to escape", she snarled.
"Ugh! Let me go! The bad guys are getting away!"
"You almost had innocent people killed—" White Fox was interrupted by a two-foot kick in the waist area. She looked up at the spider while groaning. As Ghost Spider was about to shoot a web to escape, the kumiho swiftly pressed a taser device onto the spider's back. Ghost Spider screamed from the electric shock before collapsing onto the ground.
Ghost Spider moaned from the uncomfortable sleeping position. Then she woke up in her prison chambers. "Oh nice, the jerks locked me up again", she yawned while stretching.
"We did it for good reason", White Fox spoke from the other side of the glass window. "You should've told me you saw one of the vampires unless you were using that excuse to flee".
"Man, you are so judgmental of me, I was going to return once I got the demon".
"…Is that so? If that were true, then tell me why you would return".
"I…am on my own", she confessed. White Fox's glare started to soften a bit. She seemed to have been taken aback by that. "Being in a prison cell is better than being homeless. At least as a prisoner, I have a room so I can be in dreamland I guess", she chuckled to herself.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Wanting to be a prisoner sounds that weird to you?"
"It would sound weird to anyone normal".
"Then it's a good thing you don't count, yeah?" Ghost Spider seemed to be grinning under her mask. "The vampires have already got people under their mind control. Or is it body control…?"
"Was it normal civilians?" White Fox asked with a serious tone.
"They were men, dressed as suited gangsters. I heard Hadine call them by their names: Young Sun, that's how it was pronounced". Ghost Spider revealed. White Fox stood up as if Ghost Spider revealed shocking information.
"Yongsan?!" White Fox immediately ran out of the containment room as if she needed to reveal this information.
