Ghost Spider needed the spider back, not only was it a useful tracker but it could have obtained helpful information. Info such as learning the national language of the country she was stuck in. Gwen couldn't just take a plane to the USA.

The first reason was that she was broke, and the second reason was…she was a foreigner who people could easily take advantage of. Luckily, when she had escaped the National Intelligence Service, she was desperate for shelter to lay low. That was not the lucky part. The lucky part was that she walked around in her civilian outfit and noticed a school nearby. Risky to seek shelter in a public facility but she was tired and hungry. Swinging in, she shifted invisibly and crawled around the place.

Then small, symbiote spiders crawled from her arm, "Find the cafeteria's kitchen" As they crawled around, Ghost Spider noticed some security guard approaching so leaped up and used her invisible form. Crawling past the guard, her 'spiders' returned into her suit and the location was revealed.

As she entered the kitchen, her mouth watered at the sight of chocolate cake. "I love you, but now it is time to be in my belly", she quipped while rubbing her gloved hands.

Meanwhile, the janitor was cleaning the cafeteria and whistling. Once he was done he walked to the kitchen to eat his slices of chocolate cake that the geography teacher left for him.

"내 케이크는 어딨어?! 나는 할 수있다" He exclaimed, he grumbled some curse words and searched the entire kitchen. He decided to walk out as he had a feeling whoever stole his treat was hiding somewhere in the room. Counting the seconds he ran back into the kitchen where a shadowed figure was placing the empty plate on the sink.

The second he turned on the lights, the shadowed figure appeared to be a girl, a white girl in a closed grey jacket and long jeans.

"뭐 ... 대체 누구야, 어떻게 학교에 들어갔어?"

"I…don't understand…" Gwen replied.

"I will call the guard", He said carefully, but he wasn't fluent in English. Gwen raised her arms in an attempt at persuasion.

"Please don't do that, I was hungry and the cake was too delicious to resist".

"…Why in a school?"

"I did not know where else to go, I do not have money to go back to America" she answered truthfully and the man eyed her up and down.

"And how this my problem?" He asked and Gwen knew she needed to persuade harder.

"I can help you out with your work?" She offered. The man was about to call the guard when Gwen moved in front of him. "I know who vandalized the teacher's lounge!" The man came to a halt and then turned to Gwen.

"You do not go to this school, I know you are lying—"

"It was someone who owns this", Gwen revealed a volleyball with a marker written text and a star.

Present Day

"I can't believe one of you snitched on me!" a girl confronted her volleyball teammates.

"Are you blaming me Ha-rin? I told you that I didn't say anything!" One of them groaned.

"Well someone told the headmaster, and I did not tell a soul!" Ha-rin folded her arms.

"How could we snitch? I know I saw all of you went home in your parents' cars"

"…You are right, but if it wasn't you guys then it has to be whoever left last AND somehow knew us…"

All girls glanced to Ami's direction who was constantly talking to Yeji. Ha-rin was so furious that she walked with anger. "Han!" she yelled and Ami stood up from the bench and walked up to her teammate.

"Is there something—"

Ha-rin slapped her hard. "How could you!"

Ami looked at the girl with her hand on her cheek, "What the hell?!"

"You knew about paint in the teachers' lounge!"

Ami was even more confused and hurt by the assault. Then someone grabbed Ha-rin by the hair and locked her arm around her neck. A way of saying they will choke her. Ami was surprised that Gwen was in the volleyball room, but unsure how long she was around.

"Listen here girlie, I don't want to get involved here and you might not know English very well" Gwen spoke in a dangerous tone, "But I suggest you apologize right now for that assault or I'll rip your eyebrows out in the most painful way possible"

"GWEN!" Ami yelled as she separated the blonde from Ha-rin and took Gwen's wrist, dragging her out of the volleyball room. Walking far out into the gardening shed, the Kumiho closed the door. "What is wrong with you?!"

"You're welcome for rescuing you" Gwen rolled her eyes and Ami just made an even more furious glare. Gwen sighed, "Before you say it, yes, I did know that was risky but you didn't do anything that could make them upset"

"So attacking an innocent student is your way of 'saving' me?"

"You've already shown me that you're not a damsel in distress, the badass things you've done are enough to know that"

Ami arched an eyebrow, "Flattery is not going to stop me from blowing the whistle on you" She frowned and Gwen sighed.

"You know what, you're right, smart and good" she complimented, as she approached the girl and embraced her. Ami was taken back by the contact and smelt strawberries on the blonde's clothes. This was odd and out of character for Gwen.

Then a student opened the door and was shocked to see Ami and Gwen's intimate contact. Gwen moved away from Ami who was shocked to see Ji-yoo and her friends who already took pictures of their embrace.

"Well well well, who would have thought the new girl and the not-exactly-a-student blonde were going to be so fruity with each other"

"Back off, you do not want to piss me off" Gwen shot back in Korean and Ami was surprised that Gwen could speak the language so fluently.

"No denial? You two losers look cute together"

Gwen was about to punch the girl when Ami held her arm in front of her to prevent her from attacking. Then Gwen felt a strong pain in her heart and was soon on her knees. Ji-yoo was uncomfortable by this and decided to leave her be, her clique following after. Ami crouched down to Gwen's level with worry. "Gwen? What's the matter"

"Over *gag* load" she coughed and Ami tried picking her up but Gwen tried to get away.

"Gwen, let me help you—"

"I will not be your prisoner again" Gwen growled but started coughing again. Ami thought of contacting the National Intelligence Service but she left her phone back at the volleyball courtroom.

"I will not take you to them, but I will treat your wound" Ami promised as she lifted her and walked her to the medical room in the school.

When she made it there, she placed Gwen on a strap bed and looked for any aid tool to treat her wound. She gave her medicine but Gwen tried shoving it off her grip and Ami frowned. "Gwen, you need to let me help you otherwise you might…" Ami quickly put the spoon full of medicine into her mouth. Gwen started moving in the way of someone having a seizure. Ami grabbed her arms and tried to keep her still, trying to avoid the thought of her making Gwen's pain worse with the medicine. "Gwen! Stay with me, fight it!"

Gwen started forming tears and gasping for air, then she opened her eyes to look at her, "The spider…on you…too long—" she gave a sharp inhale, and her head fell back, eyes slowly closed.

"Gwen? Gwen!" Ami panicked and tried to feel a heartbeat. She was thankful that she was still breathing but was conflicted about the option of running back to the volleyball court to retrieve her phone or staying to make sure Gwen recovered.

"What happened to this girl?" The school nurse asked in surprise to see Gwen lying on the bed unconscious.

"She…had a heatstroke" Ami lied. The nurse walked to Gwen and prepared to check her temperature.

"A heatstroke? She is warm though—"

"Fox…" Gwen spoke but she was still unconscious. Ami panicked, realizing that taking her to the medical room was not the smartest idea. Gwen was going to unintentionally reveal her secret.

The nurse tried checking her body, ignoring Gwen, "Was she having a seizure?"

"Yes! Can I take her to the hospital?"

"Miss, you should be in class right now, cutting class isn't going to help her"

Ami nodded and started to walk out but when the nurse wasn't looking she rushed to the school telephone. "Hello? Director, you need to come to the school quickly. Ghost Spider is sick and the nurse could notice her supernatural abilities"

"Is she going to be okay?"

"Doctor Chew said that she needs rest—"

Gwen grunted and slowly sat up, she opened her eyes and found herself the inside of a large vehicle. She then went on high alert when she noticed Ami looking at her with white hair and fox ears again.

"What the f—"

"You're okay!" she smiled as she hugged her. Gwen was surprised by that but noticed another person in the moving vehicle. Ami moved closer and whispered, "I didn't tell anyone your identity, your clothes transformed into your suit when you were semi-conscious" She explained.

Gwen felt the mask on her face and sighed in relief. Then a realization hit her. "Why am I in a van—NO WAY!" She tried to find a way out as she webbed Ami and the other individual. She rushed to the door and kicked it open. She crawled up to the roof and shot a web to swing away but White Fox tackled her onto the concrete road. White Fox charged at Ghost Spider who quickly made a run for it and crawled up a building. White Fox made a strong leap up to the rooftop. Ghost Spider began webbing her but she just kept dodging. The spider was then trapped by a strong rope and pulled by Doctor Doom, or his robotic clones.

White Fox charged at him but he held his gun at Ghost Spider's cheek. "Don't come any closer! This insect is my ticket to more power"

White Fox knew backup was coming so she had to stall, "Okay, calm down, maybe we can work something out"

"Hold on…do you know why this masked freak is so valuable?" Doctor Doom asked suspiciously.

"Of course I do, that is why I need her alive" White Fox managed to conceal any sign that revealed she was lying.

Doctor Doom was moving away when Ghost Spider used her feet to sweep the man's legs off the ground and webbed him when he landed on his back.

"The bad guys should know by now that us spiders are always slippery" Ghost Spider stomped her foot on his head until it was flat. She was relieved that this was just another robotic clone until it started making the sound of an alarm.

More robotic clones appeared from a jet that hovered over them, as they landed around the two heroes, White Fox cursed in Korean. "You better not be planning to run away from this"

"I could never give up the chance of fighting evil robots" Ghost Spider quipped as she stroked her knuckles. White Fox immediately sliced off a robot with her claws and Ghost Spider punched another in the mechanical torso and ripped the top off the bottom.

There was punching and kicking along with White Fox using her capoeira moves to prevent a robot from electrifying Ghost Spider. She quickly tackled the fox down from an incoming blast.

As they fought, White Fox was enjoying the fact that she had a partner to fight villains with, and they worked well together.

As they defeated the last robot by punched it at the same time, White Fox glanced at Ghost Spider who seemed to feel the same kind of satisfaction.

It wouldn't be wise for Gwen to remain her enemy, she thought. From the looks of it, there was something about Ghost Spider that made villains want to abduct her. The vampires probably noticed it as well. No way would Gwen be clueless not to know why.

"Why is Doctor Doom after you?"

"The hell would I know?" Ghost Spider scoffed as she prepared to take off but her spider senses were ringing and there was the sound of a gunshot. The spider turned back to see White Fox was hit by a bullet. She immediately rushed to her and her lenses widened in panic. The robot that was already beaten managed to shoot the kumiho before it suddenly self-destructed. White Fox gasped and looked up at Ghost Spider who made a furious expression. "Not again" she gritted as she picked up the fox and swung back to the school. She didn't know where else to go but she did not trust the agency that Ami was working for and her aunt and uncle didn't know that Ami was never human.

Gwen swung into the basement of the school and phoned Yeji. "Hello? Who is this—"

"Yeji, this is Gwen"

"…How did you get my number?"

"Unimportant, come to the school boiler room with medical aid kit and Ami's backpack" She ordered before hanging up. She turned to Ami and knelt to her, "Taking you back into the school was so not the smartest idea but now where even on helping each other"

"You had the chance to flee from me, so why help me?"

"I did it because it was the right thing to do" Gwen answered and her outfit shifted into civilian clothes and her face was revealed. Yeji came rushing in with the medical aid and Ami's backpack. Her eyes widened in horror at Ami's fox features being visible and Gwen was calm about it.

"You know that—"

"Yeji! I'll explain later but right now she needs treatment"

Later on, Yeji was sent out to call Ami's aunt and uncle, Gwen was sticking around to watch Ami resting. She sighed. "Ever since I met you, this whole this just became one big form of irony" She chuckled a bit, "I hope that me saving you could make you less of an enemy" She took one look at the kumiho and stood up to talk to Yeji.

"I never wanted to be your enemy" Ami spoke up and Gwen turned to her. Ami sat up, "I'd be an idiot to keep fighting you but I want you to know I am as good as you already proved you are" She attempted to stand up, "You can join us you know, we could be partners"

Gwen looked away, "I prefer to rely on me, myself, and I" She went back to Ami who winced as she tried to stand up. "Hey, I know you don't have self-generating powers so lie down for a while"

"You don't have to work with us all the time but we made a good team and we have the potential to be even better" Ami gently took Gwen's hands in her own. "If you don't want to join us then at least allow us to protect you"

"I don't need protection—"

"Yes, you do!" Ami shot back, and Gwen glared. You clearly have whatever Doctor Doom is trying to possess; otherwise, he wouldn't have broken into my agency headquarters." Gwen opened her mouth to begin to retaliate, but Ami shushed her. Don't be ignorant. If someone like Doctor Doom has taken such an interest in you, then you might be targeted by other supervillains, too. Is he the one who you said had something he would never give?"

Gwen looked at her lap as her hands started shaking, and Ami was confused. Why was Doctor Doom after Gwen if he was too occupied with the vampires? Then again, he started tracking Gwen when the vampire problem intensified. Nobody had heard of her, yet villains like vampires and Doctor Doom were already following her.

"Gwen…do you see that you have a huge target on your back right now?" She frowned, "You don't need to care about your safety but if Doctor Doom is following you…it will only be a matter of time before he hurts innocent people to get to you"

Ami was right, Gwen thought as she looked at her face, maybe she should have taken her to her agency. She was reluctant to admit it but Ghost Spider was attracting too many villains that would eventually kill any innocent person in their way. That may include Yeji and she didn't want to be the reason Ami lost her best friend.

"…Fine I'll help, but only if I don't end up as your prisoner again"

Ami nodded with a smile, "Of course but…there is one more thing I needed to ask" Ami scowled, "You marked me with a spider print didn't you?"

Gwen grimaced at the realization and Ami kept looking serious and asked further, "That was a tracker, which explains how it was for you to follow me"

"Damn you're smart" Gwen chuckled, "Yes that's true which is why I did the same thing to one of the two vampires" she revealed, "They need to be taken in"

"You wouldn't mind if I called for backup?"

Gwen's mouth made a half upside-down circle line with her chin folding, then sighed, "Fine…but don't tell them my secret identity"

"Fair enough"

A/N: So Gwen can use her mini spiders to track down anyone it prints on. If it been on someone for too long then it stores more memories of the person than necessary. Gwen used it on Ami to track her and learn how to speak Korean, but it was on her slightly longer than intended. I don't know if this fact is canon or another writer's headcanon but I just thought this ability was too important to not use.
